Video: SKID ROW Performs At FOOD TRUCK & ROCK CARNIVALFan-filmed video footage of SKID ROW's September 19 performance at the Food Truck & Rock Carnival in Clark, New Jersey can be seen below.
The new SKID ROW lineup — featuring former TNT singer Tony Harnell — made its live debut on May 22 at Living Sky Casino in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada.
Harnell officially joined SKID ROW in April as the replacement for Johnny Solinger, who was the band's frontman for the past fifteen years.
In a recent interview with Canadian rock journalist Mitch Lafon of the "One On One With Mitch Lafon" podcast, SKID ROW bassist Rachel Bolan stated about the band's split with Solinger: "It was evident [that it was time for us to go our separate ways]. There were certain things going on out on the road that kind of set us thinking… Things had been going on for a little bit."
He continued: "At certain times, you just get the feeling someone isn't putting a hundred percent into things. And SKID ROW is very important to the rest of us. And we wanted to carry on with quality performances and quality songs, so we decided to make a change."
Regarding how Tony Harnell came to be SKID ROW's new singer, Rachel said: "We've known Tony for years — literally, probably since the beginning of our career. And although I wasn't a big TNT fan, I was a Tony Harnell fan, as [were SKID ROW guitarists] Snake [Dave Sabo] and Scott [Scotti Hill]."
He continued: "When we made the decision to ourselves that we were gonna start looking, Tony's name came up. And I was, like, man, it's so funny, 'cause a couple of years ago, I was up in New Jersey for Christmas and I met with Tony in New York and I had dinner with him and another friend. And we just started talking. And he's, like… He goes… We'd known each for a long time, but at that point we hadn't spoken for a while. He's, like, 'I hear you guys are doing good things. How's it going?' I said, 'It's going pretty cool.' He goes, 'Man, you guys should have called me when you got a new singer [back in 1999].' And I guess that kind of popped up in the back of my head when we knew we were gonna make a change. And we immediately got in touch with Tony."
Asked if SKID ROW is working with Harnell on a "trial" basis or if Tony is "the guy" for the long haul, Rachel said: "He's the guy. I mean, that's where we're at in our heads. It's not a temporary thing. But, you know… [laughs] if get gets sick of us and leaves, then that'll be a different situation. But things are going really well now. And we're very excited. We're very excited about our future, very excited about getting on the road."

Video: CHRIS CORNELL Performs New Single On 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show'SOUNDGARDEN frontman Chris Cornell performed his new single, "Nearly Forgot My Broken Heart", on the September 21 episode of NBC's "The Ellen DeGeneres Show". Watch video footage of his appearance below.
Cornell's fourth solo studio set, "Higher Truth", was released on Friday (September 18). His first album on his own since 2009's controversial "Scream" is in the singer-songwriter vein and very different from his work with SOUNDGARDEN. Cornell told The Pulse Of Radio that that was the point of doing it. "Writing an album like 'Higher Truth', the same as it was writing any of my solo records, there's always this effort to try to make it different than the band that I'm known for," he said. "Mainly just 'cause I've never — as a music fan — never really liked when those two lines get kind of smeared."
The "Nearly Forgot My Broken Heart" video — envisioned by Cornell and directed by Jessie Hill — features a cameo by acclaimed Hollywood actors Eric Roberts ("Runaway Train", "Heroes", "The Expendables"), W. Earl Brown ("Deadwood"), as well as Chris Cornell making his acting debut. It tells a love story in a quintessential Wild West setting with an unexpected ending. The video demonstrates Cornell's instinctive ability to incorporate fascinating stories into his music.
Cornell kicked off the "Higher Truth" acoustic tour on September 18 in San Diego, California at the Balboa Theatre, stopping at famed North American venues like the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Massey Hall in Toronto and more before winding down on November 4 in Phoenix, Arizona at the Orpheum Theatre.

Original KILLER DWARFS Lineup Reunites On Stage In Toronto (Video)According to M.E.A.T.'s Drew Masters, the original debut-album lineup of Toronto, Ontario, Canada's KILLER DWARFS performed live for the first time in 31 years this past Saturday night, September 19 at Toronto's premier rock venue, The Rockpile. The band's current (and founding) members — drummer Darrell Millar and singer Russ Graham — were joined on stage by former members guitarist Bryce "Trewie" Trewin and Angelo "Ange" Fodero for a one-off "reunion" performance (complete with their iconic "tiger striped" guitars!) of KILLER DWARFS' smash 1983 career-breakthrough hit "Heavy Mental Breakdown".
Via Facebook, the various members posted their thoughts on the historic occasion. Darrell described the night simply as a "magic moment," while current guitarist Gerry Finn stated that the event was "seriously cool, and way too much fun!" Ange posted a simple message, "Thank you to everyone involved, I had the best time in 31 years," while Russ summed up the event perfectly, stating: "All four original members on stage again over 30 years later — how cool is that!"
KILLER DWARFS was formed in Toronto in 1981 and continues to rock, showing no signs of slowing down. From its first single, the anthem "Keep The Spirit Alive", to its 2013 album "STaRT @ oNe", the band's timeline includes extensive MTV airplay, recording for major labels, racking up a few Juno nominations and playing some of the largest venues throughout the world.

Video Premiere: ABBATH's 'Fenrir Hunts'"Fenrir Hunts", the brand new video from ABBATH, the band led by ex-IMMORTAL frontman Olve Eikemo (a.k.a. Abbath), can be seen below. The clip is a live recording of a new ABBATH track, the studio version of which will appear on the group's forthcoming debut album, due in January 2016 via Season Of Mist.
The band states: "We have performed 'Fenrir Hunts' live since our debut concert at Tuska festival in Finland. This led to the decision to record a few live songs properly. With the aid of a camera team, we have recorded three tracks in a live setting at the beginning of September. Along with 'Fenrir Hunts', which you can see today, there will be two cover versions coming up soon. Now, here is 'Fenrir Hunts', the first glimpse from our upcoming debut album!"
The "Fenrir Hunts" video was directed by Fraser West. The song was recorded and mixed by Jamie Ward.
Bass duties for ABBATH are being handled by a man familiar to metal fans across the world — Tom Cato Visnes, more widely known as King Ov Hell and main composer for several GORGOROTH albums as well as his own bands OV HELL, with singer Shagrath from DIMMU BORGIR, and GOD SEED, with exceptional black metal vocalist Gaahl. His fellow GOD SEED member and BORKNAGAR percussionist, Baard Kolstad, has also joined ABBATH on drums.
Abbath announced earlier this year that he was moving forward under his own name.
"I didn't want to go solo in the first place," Abbath told U.K.'s Metal Hammer magazine. "I wanted the best for IMMORTAL. I didn't want it to end this way. First of all, I just wanted my music out. I wanted to record the [next] album [because] it's been so many years since 'All Shall Fall'. And both Demonaz and Horgh, they have kids and families now, and it just hit that point where I couldn't work the way they wanted to work any more. I wanted things on my terms and they wanted things on their terms, and it was very difficult."
He continued: "I wanted to rehearse at least three times a week, but often it was only once a week and things went so slow. I sat there with all this material, I kept the rehearsal space and recorded the stuff on click track, but it was a very strained atmosphere and the Last time we worked together was in early June last year."
Asked if the decision to part ways and seek out new band members was inevitable, Abbath said: "I was forced to do it this way. I wanted IMMORTAL to continue, but not the way it was. The dialogue has not been there and it's also my mistake. I should have brought up this shit a long time ago, but IMMORTAL, after Demonaz's problems with his arms, it never became a band after that."
He continued: "IMMORTAL is a very special situation. [Demonaz] hasn't been in the band, but then I always wanted to do the best for everybody, to have the band spirit, and that's why when we decided to start IMMORTAL again, we tried to get the spirit back, and bring him on tour, and just share our thing and be a band and have a kick-ass time. But it never worked out. The chemistry wasn't there with the IMMORTAL guys and hadn't been for a while."
Abbath added: "I believe in my music and I believe in my expression, but time flies and we grow apart. Maybe in the future we can go back again, I don't know, but right now I just want to do my thing and just be ABBATH and have people around me who support that." 41

CREMATORY Enters The Studio; New Album Title RevealedGerman gothic metallers Crematory entered the Kohlekeller-Studios in September, to record their new studio album Monument, which will be released through Steamhammer/SPV, for their 25th band-anniversary, in spring of 2016.
According to a press release, on the musical side Monument is going to be harder and darker, back to the roots. Crematory are well known for not making any headway, but going a step further with each album. With their new effort Monument, Crematory are taking four steps back, but at the same time, one step forward. They bethought the good old gothic metal days in combination with the new established twin-guitar attack and their well known talent for composing catchy tunes with keyboards and samples.
On the lyrical hand, there will be the usual mix from german and english lyrics. Singer Felix went beyond himself on his vocal duties and the clean vocals will be handled by one of the new guitarists. This vocal co-operation will create a stir, as such a mix has never been heard in the scene or on any Crematory album! 8

VANDEN PLAS Premier “Stone Roses Edge” Music VideoThe release of the second chapter of Vanden Plas' rock opera, Chronicles Of The Immortals – Netherworld II is scheduled for November 6th. Check out the new music video for “Stone Roses Edge” below:
Approximately one year after the release of the first chapter, Vanden Plas return with their elaborate arrangements, superb piano melodies, and epic instrumental passages, paired with the signature heavy Vanden Plas sound and distinctive vocals of Andy Kuntz.
In guitarist Stephan Lill’s words: “This is our 8th studio album, so now we know what works for Vanden Plas and what doesn't. With every new CD we try to continue to break new ground, while still remaining faithful to our original style. As the songs of Chronicles Of The Immortals - Netherworld Part I & II are written for a Rock Opera, this time the arrangements of the music are more epic and orchestral than on the previous albums. The engagements for several rock operas in theaters and the work together with big orchestras helped us a lot to improve the way of writing songs or to arrange song parts in a way that makes it special. A band needs this kind of a light progression. And maybe the next cd will sound a bit more reduced again, we will see.”
Fans of the saga of the immortal Andrej Delãny will now be able to enjoy the eagerly awaited continuation with Chronicle Of The Immortals - Netherworld II. As Chronicles Of The Immortals - Netherworld, Path I ended, the perfidious plans of the dark Godmaker threatened to emerge. All seemed lost, yet from within the pervading darkness shone a soft light. Deliverance comes in the second half of the story, where the creative duo of Vanden Plas and Wolfgang Hohlbein has merged again in top form. And of course it will be up to the listener to find out how the story will end!
“Wolfgang Hohlbein was, together with his manager Dieter Winkler and our singer Andy, responsible for the story which was the base for both Chronicles Of The Immortals - Netherworld CDs. For the theater piece we did here in Germany, he wrote a book especially for this event what was fantastic,” tells Stephan.
Vanden Plas has always been open to remarkable and unusual ideas, and the collaboration with the writer Wolfgang Hohlbein found fertile ground there from the beginning. The author who has sold more than 40 million books worldwide was a big fan of the band. Blutnacht (Bloodnight), a stage production performed at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, was based on his series The Chronicle Of The Immortals. Hohlbein, his manager Dieter Winkler, and Vanden Plas frontman Andy Kuntz developed the story and Vanden Plas provided the musical realization. The reward was 25 sold-out performances during the 2012 and 2013 seasons and unanimously thrilled audiences.
“We will start the shows in support of the new album during the winter of 2015. For the previous CD, we played 3 to 4 shows in seven countries in Europe. That's what we plan also for the beginning of 2016. We just have to coordinate the dates of our Vanden Plas concerts with the dates of our theatre shows to take care that there won't be a crossing over,” concludes Stephan.
For more than 20 years, Vanden Plas has stood for intelligent progressive metal. With Netherworld II, the conclusion of Chronicles Of The Immortals, the band now opens a new and exciting chapter in its career.

Video: MIKE TRAMP Performs WHITE LION Classics In Chester, EnglandFan-filmed video footage of former WHITE LION singer Mike Tramp performing on September 22 at The Live Rooms in Chester, England can be seen below.
Tramp's new solo album, "Nomad", was released on August 28 via Target Records. The follow-up to last year's critically acclaimed "Museum" is Mike's fourth release for Target.
According to a press release, "Nomad" sees Tramp "complet[ing] what he calls his trilogy on his journey to show who he is and where he stands. With 'Nomad', Tramp reaches the final step on the ladder he started climbing (with 'Cobblestone Street'), with a full band album, from first to last song."
Said Tramp: "Without the no-compromise [approach] on 'Cobblestone Street' and 'Museum', I would never have found my way home to 'Nomad'. Each previous album gave me the freedom to follow the songs wherever they wanted to go, and with 'Nomad', my vision was clear as a bell. Once again, I just had to be who I am."
Mike in February once again squashed any rumors of a WHITE LION reunion, claiming guitarist Vito Bratta had no desire to play music.
"A WHITE LION reunion is impossible," Mike told the Jakarta Globe. "Bratta has shown a negative response [to the idea]. He stopped playing guitar, stopped recording; he is just not interested in music anymore."
Tramp's last attempt to revive WHITE LION resulted in the 2008 album "Return Of The Pride" with new members Jamie Law on guitar, bassist Claus Langeskov, drummer Troy Patrick Farrell and Henning Wanner on keyboards.
"I really love the album but it's just not the sound of WHITE LION," Tramp told Hot Metal back in 2012. "I never really wanted to record under the name of WHITE LION again because so much of the sound and the songwriting came between Vito and I.
"Writing a new album is not sitting there and baking bread. The idea has to come to you. That works well when it's Mike Tramp writing new songs. But WHITE LION has restrictions. It's known for an image, for a sound and so on. You're limited already and that's tough when you go in to do that. I don't want to be that as a songwriter. Then it becomes a pre-fabricated product, then you get KISS. That's not what I want to do in this case."
"There's a big difference between going up and playing classic WHITE LION songs and presenting new WHITE LION songs. WHITE LION isn't there. The sound of WHITE LION when it came to songwriting was Vito Bratta and Mike Tramp. That can't be changed and that will never happen again." 1

AEROSMITH's STEVEN TYLER Joins THE CADILLAC THREE On Stage In Nashville: Photos, VideoNashville natives THE CADILLAC THREE rallied Saturday night at The Cannery Ballroom for an epic hometown show, which sold out in less than one week. During the raging headline concert, AEROSMITH frontman Steven Tyler joined the trio on stage for "Sweet Emotion". The iconic songwriter and prolific singer, who was introduced as the reason THE CADILLAC THREE wanted to be musicians, proved the admiration was mutual when he revealed a shirt announcing he was the newest member of "THE CADILLAC 4."
Music City-born and bred Jaren Johnston (guitar and lead vocals), Neil Mason (drums, percussion and vocals) and Kelby Ray (bass steel guitar, dobro, acoustic and vocals) performed with a rare combination that is intuitive, authentic and organic. Their explosive live show highlights just how far these high school friends have come. "Having our fans and the place we grew up party, dance and get loud, man, was everything to us," said Jaren. "And, seriously, to have one of our biggest idols, and now friend, sing with us, we definitely couldn’t dreamed this up when we started this crazy journey." Fans from far and wide flocked to the venue, singing every word and raising a glass to the unabashed trio.
Named the Classic Rock Roll Of Honour awards "Best New Band" and playing to capacity crowds in the U.K. over the last several months, THE CADILLAC THREE even saw a few of their familiar faces make the trek. For one-night-only access, Big Machine's iHeart Radio channel also live-streamed the entire show so fans everywhere could join the uninhibited musical party.
Tyler recently told ABC News Radio that his much-anticipated country-influenced solo album won't be released until next "February or so." He explained: "I don't even know who I'm producing it with. It's gonna be what it is. There's a couple of songs I've written and they're like rock, and I said, 'Oh, geez.' And I'm not gonna put a banjo on it just to make it country… I don't know what it's gonna be, but my heart leans [toward] the country feeling and the vibe."
Steven released his debut country single, "Love Is Your Name", in May.
The accompanying music video was filmed just outside Nashville and was previewed on ABC's "Good Morning America" before it went live online. The track was written by Lindsey Lee and Eric Paslay.
Tyler recently signed to Dot Records underneath the Big Machine Label Group umbrella (Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw).

MOTÖRHEAD-Branded Whisky To Be Launched Next WeekTo celebrate MOTÖRHEAD's 40 years of eardrum crushing, Motörhead Whisky is now released in collaboration with beverage partner Brands For Fans and award-winning Swedish distillery Mackmyra.
The uncompromising attitude that characterizes MOTÖRHEAD's music is also obvious in Motörhead Whisky: bourbon influences up front, it's an alert and vital - almost cocky — perfectly balanced whisky with nice caramel and typical vanilla notes from American oak. October 1 sees the release of Motörhead Whisky at Systembolaget in Sweden to start with, and the band has played an active role in both choosing casks and blends to put its name on the label.
With Motörhead Whisky, the band have made two top releases in one blow since the new album "Bad Magic" was just released earlier this summer and topped the charts in several countries.
Lemmy Kilminster, MOTÖRHEAD's legendary frontman, founder, gravel-voiced vocalist and bass player, says: "Life is less painful with Motörhead Whisky. I may consider having a sip now and then."
MOTÖRHEAD drummer Mikkey Dee states: "We think it's great fun to launch a whisky in collaboration with a Swedish, world-famous distillery, Mackmyra.
"The whisky is incredibly good, with full character and fully flavored with a superb bourbon touch, as it's been aged in new American oak casks.
"All of us in the band have been active in the production process and are very proud over the result, and are happy to now launch such a great, characteristic whisky, MOTÖRHEAD style."
Sari Wilholm at Brands For Fans adds: "MOTÖRHEAD are legends, and it has been a tough job to find the right style and type of whisky for them to stand for.
"Mackmyra produces world-class whisky, and the rich bourbon flavour in Motörhead Whisky showcases the amazing blending talents of Angela D'Orazio.
"The band has been trying casks and blends and have found a smooth whisky with a tough attitude to release.
"We are incredibly proud to be a part of this release."
Batch one of Motörhead Whisky is a limited-edition Swedish Single Malt Whisky with an oaky and slightly fruity character, characterized by aging five years in new American oak barrels, where parts of the whiskey has got a final touch from oloroso oak barrels the last six months. Alcohol strength is 40% and the whisky is cool filtered, so no cloudiness should occur in the bottle or the glass, if the whisky is served at a lower temperature. In summary this becomes an enjoyable, easy to drink and easy oaky and spicy Swedish Single Malt Whisky.
Motörhead Whisky suits any occasion where you'd otherwise have chosen a bourbon, as well as times where a classic scotch malt whisky would have been your first option. 10

AUDIOTOPSY Feat. MUDVAYNE Members: Audio Samples Of Entire Debut AlbumAUDIOTOPSY, the new band featuring guitarist Greg Tribbett (MUDVAYNE, HELLYEAH), drummer Matt McDonough (MUDVAYNE), vocalist Billy Keeton (SKRAPE) and bassist Perry Stern, will release its debut album, "Natural Causes", on October 2 via Napalm. The CD was produced by the AUDIOTOPSY bandmembers at The Porch Studio in Orlando, Florida with engineer Tim Laud.
Audio samples of all the songs that are set to appear on "Audiotopsy" can be streamed below.
Said Greg: "The focus was to write solid, hooky, big riff songs. We didn't want to sound or look like every other band. It's not supposed to be regular. We're all building this vision together." Merging intricate instrumentation with a seamless knack for melody, they conjured up a style as heavy as it is hypnotic. "We got a vibe going", added Greg. You could call it 'progressive hard rock.'"
"Natural Causes" track listing:
01. Headshot02. All We Know03. LYLAB04. The Calling05. H2O (Interlude)06. Swim07. Disguise Your Devils08. Burn the Sky09. Distorted10. Darken the Rainbow11. Frozen Scars12. Natural Causes (Outro)
Regarding the CD's opening track, "Headshot", Billy said: "It's from the point of view or the eyes of, not necessarily a soldier, but anybody who's in battle and in the trenches. Metaphorically speaking, it's life through the eyes of somebody fighting a battle."
Tribbett, who was also a member of HELLYEAH until early 2014, said about his project: "I'm extremely excited about AUDIOTOPSY. The music has everything you want in a record… heavy, melodic, atmospheric, big, hooky riffs/singalongs as well. The guys in the band are great and we all feel as if this was meant to happen."
Tribbett and bassist Bob "Zilla" Kakaha were dismissed from HELLYEAH in 2013. HELLYEAH guitarist Tom Maxwell explained: "They just pretty much had a lot of other stuff going on in their life that just took the focus of the band away, and for us to continue, we had to part ways with them."
HELLYEAH and MUDVAYNE singer Chad Gray told The Pulse Of Radio that the split with his longtime bandmate and friend Tribbett was painful. "It was really, really tough, I mean, kind of watching Greg go through the things he was going through, you know, as his brother, as somebody that's worked with him for 18 years," he said. "I was watching this decline in him, you know, and it was really, really difficult."
Meanwhile, it's been six years since MUDVAYNE released its self-titled fifth album, which was barely promoted and sold weakly upon release.
The band has been silent since then, although a message was posted at its Facebook page last year saying that the group had not broken up. 1

Video Premiere: CHILDREN OF BODOM's 'Morrigan'"Morrigan", the new video from Finnish metallers CHILDREN OF BODOM, can be seen below. The clip was directed by Patric Ullaeus of Revolver Film Company, who has previously worked with DIMMU BORGIR, LACUNA COIL, IN FLAMES, SONIC SYNDICATE and KAMELOT, among others.
Patric states: "The last time I worked with CHILDREN OF BODOM, we did great stuff together. 'Trashed, Lost And Strungout' was gold-awarded and the 'Chaos Ridden Years: Stockholm Knockout Live' DVD was also gold-awarded. So after all these years it was a great pleasure to get to work with them again.
"The band decided not to be in the video as they wanted to tell the story about The Warrior Goddess Morrigan, and together with the band, we made this tale about a man fighting his inner demons."
"Morrigan" is taken from CHILDREN OF BODOM's ninth studio album, "I Worship Chaos", which will be released on October 2 via Nuclear Blast. The artwork for the CD was created by Finnish artist Tuomas Korpi and can be seen below.
"I Worship Chaos" was once again recorded at Helsinki, Finland's Danger Johnny Studios and was produced by CHILDREN OF BODOM and Mikko Karmila, who worked with the band on their earlier albums "Halo Of Blood", "Hatebreeder", "Follow The Reaper" and "Hate Crew Deathroll". The CD was mixed and mastered at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki, Finland.
"I Worship Chaos" will be available in following formats:
* CD + DVD digibook (incl. bonus DVD and three bonustracks!)* CD* 2LP (black, clear, silver, yellow, picture)* digibook + canvas (Nuclear Blast mailorder edition)
The album can be pre-ordered at this location. Comments CHILDREN OF BODOM guitarist/vocalist Alexi Laiho: "To me, it seems like 'I Worship Chaos' has a lot darker vibe in it than the previous albums and so far everyone has told me that the songs are a lot catchier this time, which I'm definitely glad about. To sum it up, it's angry, dark and catchy as fuck. I think it's safe to say 'I Worship Chaos' is CHILDREN OF BODOM reborn even more pissed off." "I Worship Chaos" track listing:
01. I Hurt02. My Bodom (I Am The Only One)03. Morrigan04. Horns05. Prayer For The Afflicted06. I Worship Chaos07. Hold Your Tongue08. Suicide Bomber09. All for Nothing10. Widdershins
Bonus tracks (digibook only):
11. Mistress Of Taboo (PLASMATICS cover)12. Danger Zone (KENNY LOGGINS cover)13. Black Winter Day (AMORPHIS cover)
CHILDREN OF BODOM has recruited Antti Wirman, the younger brother of the band's keyboardist Janne Wirman, to handle second-guitar duties for their upcoming shows.
Antti, who has been a member of Janne's band WARMEN since 2001, made his live debut with CHILDREN OF BODOM on May 30 when the group played a surprise six-song set at Nosturi in Helsinki, Finland.
"We wanted to go with someone close to the band we can count on and who can nail these songs. Antti was the obvious choice," said Janne.
Antti will play with CHILDREN OF BODOM through the end of the year. The group will then decide what to do about the second-guitarist position on a more permanent basis.
CHILDREN OF BODOM's first official concert with Antti took place on June 4 at the Sweden Rock Festival in Sölvesborg, Sweden.
CHILDREN OF BODOM in May announced the departure of the band's guitarist of the past decade, Roope Latvala. 33

ASKING ALEXANDRIA: 'I Won't Give In' Video Released"I Won't Give In", the new video from the British metalcore band ASKING ALEXANDRIA, can be seen below. The song features Denis Shaforostov, formerly of Ukrainian metalcore act MAKE ME FAMOUS, who was confirmed as the new singer of ASKING ALEXANDRIA back in May.
Commented ASKING ALEXANDRIA guitarist Ben Bruce: "We spent the summer collecting footage for our new music video for our current single, 'I Won't Give In'.
"This video showcases just how strong our family is. The love and support everyone has shown us over the years is incredible and this video truly captures the bond we share with our fans and with each other. I know you guys will enjoy watching this video as much as I have enjoyed watching it.
"I'm also extremely excited to announce that we will be releasing a new song for you guys to annoy your neighbors with in the next few days. We will be playing this song live on our upcoming U.K./Europe tour so I'm expecting you guys to learn all the words ASAP! Can't wait to see you guys."
In interview with U.K.'s Kerrang! magazine, Bruce stated about ASKING ALEXANDRIA's new addition: "Everyone guessed it was Denis, and I think they did so because they know Denis was the right choice to make. He's an incredibly talented vocalist, from the multiple wide range of screams that ASKING ALEXANDRIA obviously needs and will continue to have, and his singing and range is out of this world. He's been a fan of the band for a long time, so he's familiar with all our old songs, and he really cares about the band. He's a passionate, cool guy; it's the perfect scenario."
Added Denis: "I had this gut feeling, man; I totally felt something big was going to happen right before the guys reached out to me. It's crazy. Honestly, I've never been waiting for such an opportunity to ever knock at my door but, as the same time, I was always ready for it. Without a doubt, I was extremely stoked and I poured all of my emotions into the writing for the new ASKING ALEXANDRIA record."
Joining ASKING ALEXANDRIA on the band's upcoming European tour will be MEMPHIS MAY FIRE (October 14-28 only), AUGUST BURNS RED and IN HEARTS WAKE. 10

Maryann Cotton previously stated: “As many of you know, I lost my mentor, producer, co-writer, and my friend Dick Wagner last year, which led to a lot of personal and emotional distractions for me. I was most honoured to perform at the Dick Wagner Remember The Child Memorial Concert at the Fillmore in Detroit this year, where we celebrated his beautiful friendship and majestic legacy. I was enveloped in the warm welcome of so many great musicians and Dick Wagner fans. This has helped me to move forward, as my Maestro would so encourage.
“Dick and I managed to finish all the songs and pre-production for our announced album Chester Rose – The Legend Begins – but we never reached the studio process. When he died, we were in negotiations with one of the world’s biggest record companies, and future plans were falling into place.
“My manager Susan Michelson, Dick Wagner’s business partner and personal manager, has continued moving ahead with the project and is currently working on contracts and related details. The record company remains very enthusiastic about the Chester Rose concept. They are dedicated to recording Dick Wagner's final album, but the many details of this substantial project and its offshoots take some time to fall into place. I cannot wait till our album is ready to share with you!
“With all that said… I’m proud to let you know that I secretly over four months has been in a writing, studio recording, and mixing / mastering process, and completed a full new album – to please my fans. I have together with my manager decided to release the album in autumn, which also means new upcoming shows and tour this year.”
More details to follow.

SO HIDEOUS Streaming New Track "Relinquish"Prosthetic Records presents Laurestine, the second full-length album by So Hideous. Out October 16th via Prosthetic, Laurestine is a masterpiece of sound and feeling that delivers on past promises and confirms the New York City band to be a true leader in its field. A new song, "Relinquish", is streaming below.
Before Laurestine there was the debut album Last Poem/First Light, a 2013 self-release which wowed the underground with its balance of blackened angst and rich musicality, and with its use of an actual orchestra an choir in the recording process. Comparisons to Envy, Celeste, and composers like Arvo Part and Ennio Morricone abounded, the term "post-metal" appeared to be the only phrase broad enough to encompass the band's unique mix of black metal, post-hardcore, and orchestral elements.
Laurestine now shows the quartet - guitarist and main composer Brandon Cruz, bassist and vocalist Chris Cruz, guitarist Etienne Vazquez, and drummer Danny Moncada - building upon what it began and outshining expectations yet again.
Like it's predecessor, Laurestine was recorded at The Wild Artic Recording Studio in Portsmouth, New Hampshire with producer Dean Baltulonis (Lucero, Sick Of It All, Modern Life is War) and, like its predecessor, it features actual orchestral and choral tracks recorded by The First Light Orchestra, consisting now of thirty members - brass, strings, and vocalists, recorded at Little Field Performance and Art Space in Brooklyn, New York, by Chris Montgomery (Mumford And Sons, Lily Allen).
Tracklisting:
“Yesteryear”
“Here After”
“Relinquish”
“The Keepsake”
“Falling Cedars”
“The True Pierce”
“A Faint Whisper”
"Relinquish":
An absolute feast for the ears, "cinematic" is the word for Laurestine. The album plays like a score to an unseen film - one continuous ebb and flow of intensity, swelling and receding, from fragile interludes to raging storms. Sonically dense yet crystalline, each musical layer contributes to the emotionally scorching whole.
Brandon Cruz - by day a music teacher at a New York City school - names Max Richter, Hans Zimmer and Mono as three of the inspirations fueling Laurestine. Cruz reveals that the album is based on a story of one man's post-mortem experience, an interior journey in the seven minutes after dying during which the brain is said to be still active. Ascending toward an afterlife, the man is guided through this limbo state by a woman named Laurestine, made to reflect on the past and prepare for the unknown to come.
On various levels, Laurestine's lyrics and music connect to tell this story. In reference to the seven-minute space between life and death, the number seven dominates - the seven tracks are riddled with 7/4 and 7/8 time signatures. The songs' lyrics are written in the voices of both the protagonist and his guide - these two narrators lead the listener on an unforgettable tour through anguish, melancholy, and ultimate triumph.

VEHEMENCE Streaming New Song “It’s All My Fault”Phoenix, Arizona-based death metal quintet, Vehemence, is preparing to return to full-time deployment this year, with new tour dates coming together around their anxiously awaited first new album in over a decade, Forward Without Motion, confirmed for release through Battleground Records in October. Listen to the new track, “It’s All My Fault”, streaming below:
The outfit's first new album since Metal Blade Records' 2004-released Helping The World To See, Vehemence comes storming back to the death metal circuit with a crushing new album which will surely see the band regaining their traction within the scene after their time off the grid. Forward Without Motion is the culmination of years of hard work and the collective desire to write the best songs and capture the best performances.
Working on the songs off and on for several years between 2007 and 2011, Vehemence began a methodical, painstaking tracking process for the new record between 2012 and 2014, the album's guitars, bass, and vocals being recorded at the home studios of guitarists Bjorn Dannov and Kyle Moeller, with the drums being recorded at Villain Studios in Phoenix. When listening to Forward Without Motion, one will discover the refreshing sounds of a band creatively reborn and seasoned by experience. The album flows with a relentless, throat grabbing energy that never flags and begs for repeated spins. This cohesive power is nowhere more apparent than in the strength of the instrumental and vocal performances, which slash and hammer their way out of the speakers with a passion rarely found in the cold, mostly lifeless corpses that are most modern death metal recordings.
With the underground death metal scene now extremely primed for the re-arrival of Vehemence, Forward Without Motion will be released through Battleground records on October 23rd. The record will be issued on 180-gram black vinyl 2xLP in a gatefold package with a free download, limited to 300 copies, as well as a digipak CD version and all digital platforms. The band and label have proudly issued Forward Without Motion's tracklisting and cover art by Hal Rotter/Rotting Graphics (Atriarch, Inherit Disease, Barghest).
An official video for the LP's opening track, "I Don't Want To Look Inside”, can be seen below. CD, LP and digital pre-orders can be placed now.
Forward Without Motion tracklisting:
“I Don't Want To Look Inside”
“Imagining The Loss”
“Murdered By The Earth”
“Jim The Prophet”
“In The Shadows We Dwell”
“A Dark Figure In The Distance”
“It's All My Fault”
“She Fucks Like She's Alive”
“There Are So Many Reasons To Give Up On Religion”
“I Don't Want To Look Inside” video:
Vehemence has announced a home-area record release show for Forward Without Motion, set to take place Saturday, October 24th, one day after the record's official release. The free gig will see the band headlining Yucca Tap Room in Tempe, Arizona, with support from labelmates Lago, as well as Sorrower and Through The Earth. Additional regional and widespread tour actions from the band will continue to be announced through the coming months. 2
