LOCRIAN Streaming New Track "Dark Shales"Now just a week from official release on July 24th, is the colossal Infinite Dissolution LP from black metal/industrial alchemists, Locran, and the band has premiered the record's second bruising movement with a stream of "Dark Shales".
As the band hits its tenth anniversary this year, Infinite Dissolution marks the newest in the nearly two-dozen recordings Locrian has released since their inception, and delivers the trio's most conceptual and environmentalist visions to date. Produced by Greg Norman (Pelican, Russian Circles) at Steve Albini-owned/operated Electrical Audio in Chicago, mastered by Brad Boatright (Yob, Author & Punisher, Sleep) at Audiosiege in Portland, and bearing artwork based on an immense physical sculpture installation by David Altmejd, the band's second album for Relapse Records brings to light some of the most detrimental tribulations mankind has visited upon our planet, unleashing nearly fifty minutes of tortured yet stunning experimental blackened/noise-soaked industrial originality.
Also available for streaming are the new tracks “Arc Of Extinction” and "Heavy Water".
Infinite Dissolution tracklisting:
“Arc Of Extinction”
“Dark Shales”
“KXL I”
“The Future Of Death”
“An Index Of Air”

“The Great Dying”
“Heavy Water”
“KXL II”
In addition to Locrian's Midwestern shows in Detroit and Chicago on July 17th and 18th, the band has just confirmed a leg of West Coast US tour dates in August in support of Infinite Dissolution. From August 13th through the 21st the band will flood the western half of the country with their demoralizing auditory fabrications. Special tenth anniversary performance plans are coming together for this Fall, which will be followed by a European tour in early 2016.

Video Premiere: ATREYU's 'Long Live'"Long Live", the new music video from reactivated Southern California metallers ATREYU, can be seen below. The song is the title track of the band's comeback album, which will be released on September 18 through the Search And Destroy imprint as part of the newly announced joint venture between Raw Power Management and Spinefarm.
Pre-orders for "Long Live" include a variety of lifestyle items, many of which reflect the interests of the band members themselves. These items include a bike, a surfboard, a skate deck, a Dan Jacobs guitar, a studio-used drumhead, canvas prints, and muay thai gloves.
The "Long Live" clip was directed by ATREYU bassist Porter McKnight.
Drummer Brandon Saller said: "This is my favorite video we've ever created. We were fortunate to have our own Porter McKnight at the helm with the art direction and video.
"We wanted to make the pre-order options interesting and have items for the true collector. Grab your pre-order and get the title track instantly. Then, I recommend going to your car, cranking it up and driving fast while screaming your f**ing head off."
"I'm so pumped to show this video to the world," said guitarist Dan Jacobs. "We've worked very hard on this record and video, especially our own Porter McKnight, who directed it, so words can't express how excited we are to share it with everyone. It's by far the most epic video we have ever made and the face-melting level is on 11. Warning: Uncontrollable headbanging will occur."
"'Long Live' is by far my favorite ATREYU video, which is fitting because our new record, titled 'Long Live', is the strongest atreyu record to date," said frontman Alex Varkatzas.
McKnight weighed in on pulling double duty as director for the video, stating: "Writing/directing the music video for 'Long Live' has easily been one of the most exhilarating and fruitful artistic endeavors I've been a part of. This was my first attempt at either role and I have to say it was an absolute pleasure.
"The album 'Long Live' (and the title track!) is without a doubt the best music we've ever written and I can't wait to share it with everyone."
McKnight has provided the art direction for the entire project, from album artwork to promo photos, making the project truly of the band and by the band. "To be at the helm of a project that holds so much love and joy for provides an indescribable sense of excitement and pleasure," McKnight said. "It is truly a fantastic experience and an honor unlike any I've ever known." "Long Live" track listing:
01. Long Live02. Live To Labor03. I Would Kill/Lie/Die (For You)04. Cut Off The Head05. A Bitter Broken Memory06. Do You Know Who You Are07. Revival (Interlude)08. Heartbeats And Flatlines09. Brass Balls10. Moments Before Dawn11. Start To Break12. Reckless 2

The song "The Other Side" from "All Our Yesterdays" can be streamed below.
"All Our Yesterdays" will be released on a variety of formats: CD, CD/DVD and digital versions on September 18 and in LP and box set configurations on October 16. Pre-orders for the CD and CD/DVD versions are available on Amazon.com.
* CD/DVD Deluxe edition includes the full album plus a DVD with music videos for "All Our Yesterdays" and "Will O' The Wisp", plus an extensive interview with Ritchie Blackmore and Candice Night on the making of the new album
* 2LP vinyl edition with a gatefold sleeve
* Box Set Limited Collector's edition includes CD/DVD deluxe edition, 2LP, tshirt (L size ONLY), poster, lithograph BLACKMORE'S NIGHT vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Candice Night says: "There's a theme to 'All Our Yesterdays'' chosen songs that focuses on the attitude of living in the present, and looking toward the future, because we are, indeed, enriched by our past. My main theme and inspiration has always been nature and folklore from around the world."
Candice Night and Ritchie Blackmore's lives and creative journeys have taken them through different characters and songs from a variety of times in history. That is part of the attitude in the song "Where Are We Going from Here", about a traveling minstrel's journey through life and age.
The title track (and also the first single and video), "All Our Yesterdays", echoes the sounds of Candice's Russian roots, while a new song written by Germany's George Hesse is an old-style, fiddle-driven instrumental with the Welsh title "Allan yn y Fan" (meaning "Out There"). Ritchie's heritage includes family from Wales.
The album also includes stunning instrumentals: the acoustic guitar piece "Queen's Lament" and the dramatic "The Darker Shade of Black" that spotlights violin and guitar.
Elsewhere on the recording, "Earth Wind and Sky" is a delicate ode to nature. "The Other Side", a latter-day folk dance joins two jigs that Candice sings: "Coming Home" and the supernatural-themed "Will o' the Wisp".
"All Our Yesterdays" gets further inspiration from Candice and Ritchie's home town, where they take part in community folk nights during which the neighbours share guitars and songs, and sing melodies that have come from a variety of times in their own history. That's how they fell in love with songs of various radio formats of years gone by. The album includes the Linda Ronstadt hit "Long Long Time" (penned by Gary White); the Mike Oldfield song "Moonlight Shadow"; and an inspiring Maypole Dance treatment of Sonny & Cher's "I Got You Babe".
BLACKMORE'S NIGHT is a true musical and spiritual collaboration between vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Candice Night and her husband, legendary guitarist Ritchie Blackmore. The two met in 1989 when DEEP PURPLE challenged Candice's then-radio station to a charity soccer match. In 1993 she sang on RAINBOW's "Difficult To Cure" tour. They co-wrote four songs for RAINBOW's "Stranger In Us All" and in 1997 they formed BLACKMORE'S NIGHT; they continue to play Faire Festivals all over the world.
BLACKMORE'S NIGHT is:
* Ritchie Blackmore - electric/acoustic guitars, mandola, hurdy gurdy, nickelharpe* Candice Night - vocals, chanter, cornamuse, shawms, rauschpfeife* Bard David of Larchmont - keyboards* Earl Grey of Chimay - Bass and rhythm guitar* Lady Lynn - harmony vocals, shawm, flute, recorder* Troubadour of Aberdeen - drums 6

FIREWIND/OZZY OSBOURNE Guitarist GUS G.: New Song 'The Quest' Available For Streaming"The Quest", a brand new song from Greek guitar virtuoso Gus G., well known in rock and metal circles for his work as Ozzy Osbourne's guitarist and as leader of his own band FIREWIND, can be streamed below (courtesy of GuitarWorld.com). The track is taken from Gus G.'s second solo album, "Brand New Revolution", which will be released in Europe on July 24 via Century Media. The CD will be made available through Century Media in Australia and South America, Dismanic/eOne in North America and King Records in Japan. The cover artwork was once again created by Gustavo Sazes, who previously worked with Gus on the guitarist's debut album, "I Am The Fire", and also took care of artwork duties by such bands as ARCH ENEMY, KAMELOT and FIREWIND.
"'The Quest' is the only instrumental of the album and it's a heavy, high-energy, technical track," Gus says. "You hear lots of sides of my playing, not only the technical leads and heavy riffing, but melodies and even acoustic. Lots of stuff jam-packed into this song, but somehow it all comes together nicely. The rest of the album once again features collaborations with some awesome singers/songwriters such as the legendary Jeff Scott Soto, Mats Levén, Jacob Bunton and the awesome Elize Ryd of AMARANTHE.
"I feel the album as a whole has many influences, from classic hard rock/metal to more modern and current sounds."
"Brand New Revolution" features guest vocal appearances by Jeff Scott Soto (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, JOURNEY, TALISMAN), Elize Ryd (AMARANTHE), Jacob Bunton (ADLER, LYNAM) and Mats Levén (CANDLEMASS, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, TREAT).

SAINT ASONIA Feat. STAIND, Ex-THREE DAYS GRACE Members: Lyric Video For New Song 'Let Me Live My Life'The official lyric video for the song "Let Me Live My Life" from SAINT ASONIA, the new act featuring ex-THREE DAYS GRACE frontman Adam Gontier and STAIND guitarist Mike Mushok, can be seen below. The track is taken from SAINT ASONIA's self-titled debut album, which will be released on July 31 via RCA. The album is available now for pre-order here; fans who pre-order the album will receive "Live My Life", the band's debut single, "Better Place" and "Blow Me Wide Open", immediately.
Produced by Johnny K. (SEVENDUST, DISTURBED, MEGADETH), the majority of "Saint Asonia" was co-written by Gontier and Mushok.
Talking about the album, Mushok explains: "I'm really proud that we created such a cohesive body of work. I hope when people hear it they want to see a show! That's why you do it."
Adds Gontier: "The experience of making this music was a chance for me to freely express myself without any filters for the first time… It's different from anything either of us have done in the past. It's something that I think rock music needs right now. It's raw, real, and straight from our hearts."
According to The Pulse Of Radio, SAINT ASONIA started out as just Gontier and Mushok writing music together with no plans beyond that. But Gontier told The Pulse Of Radio that the moment arrived when they knew SAINT ASONIA could be a band. "When we got into the studio to record a couple of songs, we recorded three songs, and when they were done, I think that was probably the moment where we were like, 'Okay, so we've just recorded three songs, they turned out really good, we have another 10, let's do this,'" he said. "Obviously, Mike being basically on hiatus from STAIND for who knows how long, it just seemed to make sense."
SAINT ASONIA also includes STUCK MOJO and DARK NEW DAY bassist Corey Lowery and FINGER ELEVEN drummer Rich Beddoe.
Asked about calling the band a "supergroup," Gontier said, "We're more like refugees that just really hit it off creatively."
The group played its first live show at Rock On The Range in Columbus, Ohio in May.
Mushok told the Boise, Idaho radio station 100.3 The X Rocks about SAINT ASONIA's forthcoming debut album: "I'm super proud of the way the record came out. I think it definitely exceeded what we were trying to accomplish; we definitely did it. I mean, the record kind of runs the gamut — there's some pretty heavy stuff, and there's a couple of songs on there that are just beautiful songs."
Gontier has kept a low profile since leaving THREE DAYS GRACE in December 2012. The band replaced him with Matt Walst and recently released a new album called "Human".
Mushok's band, STAIND, has not released new music since 2011 and as of last December had no plans to return to the studio. Mushok played briefly in 2013 with ex-METALLICA bassist Jason Newsted in his self-named band.
Beddoe exited FINGER ELEVEN in late 2013.
Lowery's resume includes stints with STUCK MOJO, SWITCHED, STEREOMUD, DARK NEW DAY and most recently EYE EMPIRE.
"Saint Asonia" track listing:
01. Better Place02. Blow Me Wide Open03. Let Me Live My Life04. Even Though I Say05. Fairy Tale06. King Of Nothing07. Waste My Time08. Dying Slowly09. Trying To Catch Up With The World10. Happy Tragedy11. Leaving Minnesota

MY DYING BRIDE: New Song 'And My Father Left Forever' Available For Streaming"And My Father Left Forever", a brand new song from U.K. doom metallers MY DYING BRIDE, can be streamed below. The track is taken from the band's 12th full studio album, "Feel The Misery", which will be released on September 18 via Peaceville.
Vocalist Aaron Stainthorpe commented: "It is a picture of fallen bodies and broken limbs and the despair of having to collect them all up carefully, as they are your kinfolk, and place them gently together back into the earth from where they came."
With crushing epic doom spanning eight tracks, and featuring the return of original guitarist Calvin Robertshaw to the fold, this is undoubtedly amongst the band's heaviest, darkest, and most majestic works to date, marking MY DYING BRIDE's 25th anniversary in punishing style, with the title track also set to feature as the album's debut video.
"Feel The Misery" sees a notable return to the band's old haunt, Academy Studios in Dewsbury West Yorkshire, for recording, where all of MY DYING BRIDE's classic early albums were produced. Mixing once more takes place at Futureworks in Manchester, U.K. with the band's longtime studio engineer/producer Rob "Mags" Magoolagan.
The band comments on the themes of "Feel The Misery": "Contained within are all the grandeur and mastery of the melancholic one would expect to find on a recording from this group of musicians. The crushing of hearts and the solemn farewells to friends and lovers twinned with the destruction of flesh and the passions of cruelty are laid neatly for the listener to devour and savor. Eight new compositions detailing the path of life through dark doors and the burdens we all must endure simply to make it to the end, MY DYING BRIDE have returned with a foreboding new album which may enlighten, delight and consume the soul in one epic sitting."
"Feel The Misery" will be released on CD, vinyl, plus a special edition 2CD/2x10" vinyl set in deluxe earbook format, with exclusive music and expanded booklet.
"Feel The Misery" track listing:
01. And My Father Left Forever02. To Shiver In Empty Halls03. A Cold New Curse04. Feel The Misery05. A Thorn Of Wisdom06. I Celebrate Your Skin07. I Almost Loved You08. Within A Sleeping Forest
MY DYING BRIDE has been the leading light of doom metal since its debut album, "As The Flower Withers", was released on Peaceville back in 1992. The band's heavy atmospherics and expertly crafted compositions make them among the most essential and legendary acts of the gothic doom/death genre. 6

SOULFLY: Second Trailer For 'Archangel' AlbumThe second trailer for SOULFLY's tenth studio album, "Archangel", is available below. Due on August 14 via Nuclear Blast Entertainment, the CD was produced by Matt Hyde, who has previously worked with SLAYER and CHILDREN OF BODOM. The cover artwork was created by artist Eliran Kantor (TESTAMENT, ICED EARTH, SODOM).
The lyric video for the song "We Sold Our Souls To Metal", taken from "Archangel", can be seen below.
States SOULFLY mainman Max Cavalera: "This lyric video is a celebration of all forms of metal. This song was written as an anthem for metalhaeds all over the world! We gathered footage and photos from our tribe, showing how free the spirit of metal really is. Respect!"
Max previously told Metal Wani about the mindset that is required to write a track like "We Sold Our Souls To Metal": "It just happens. You can't explain it. It's one of those things… [When] you play it, it has an instant reaction on the listener."
He continued: "I was very curious about that, so I was playing around with the song, playing it for people, to see what kind of reaction it gets. And almost everybody, the reaction was, like, 'This is so crazy. I can't wait 'till you guys play this live.' It's got this kind of New York hardcore chant that we do in the chorus — like, gang vocals. It's really, really fun, and everybody gets to sing together. That's why I was thinking that it's gonna become an anthem — the chorus, all the fans are gonna sing it together, and it's saying something. 'Cause, 'we sold our souls to metal,' I think every metalhead feels like that — that we did kind of a pact and we sold our souls for this music that we love so much. So it's something that I think [they'll] sing that with some kind of pride. I think it's gonna happen when that song comes out, at least. And then it ends [in a] very PINK FLOYD [-like way], which is really strange; I don't know why we did that. I still don't know if it was the right thing, but it came out like that. Marc [Rizzo] just did some really crazy guitars at the end of it that is just, like… It goes from total metal into crazy PINK FLOYD, but it works. I mean, it's really wild. And we like wild stuff. I always was drawn to weird, weird stuff, and that's definitely weird, in a good way."
Pre-order "Archangel" in a bundle or by itself in multiple formats and from this location.
"Archangel" track listing:
01. We Sold Our Souls To Metal02. Archangel03. Sodomites (feat. Todd Jones of NAILS)04. Ishtar Rising05. Live Life Hard! (feat. Matt Young of KING PARROT)06. Shamash07. Bethlehem's Blood08. Titans09. Deceiver10. Mother Of Dragons (feat. Richie Cavalera of INCITE, Igor Cavalera of LODY KONG, Anahid M.O.P.)
Bonus tracks for CD/DVD special edition:
11. You Suffer (NAPALM DEATH cover)12. Acosador Nocturno13. Soulfly X Bonus DVD: "Live At Hellfest 2014" (special edition only)
01. Cannibal Holocaust02. Refuse/Resist03. Bloodshed04. Back To The Primitive05. Seek 'N' Strike06. Tribe07. Rise Of The Fallen08. Revengeance09. Roots Bloody Roots10. Jumpdafuckup/Eye For An Eye
In regards to the band and the album cover, artist Eliran Kantor states: "I've been a fan of Max's music ever since discovering 'Beneath The Remains' in high school. When my wife and I got married, 'Territory' was even played at the dance party part of our wedding.
"Max asked me to do a traditional piece depicting Archangel Michael — and I tried to go beyond the straight-up neo-classical style as that has been perfected centuries ago, so I mixed in SOULFLY's own visual world: hence the wings and spear being shaped like the SOULFLY tribal icon, the cliff with the ocean view just like on the first record, and the Brazilian flag being the core of it's color scheme." Speaking about "Archangel", Max told RockRevoltMagazine.com: "It's a very biblical, very mystic, very exotic kind of a album. This is a totally different vibe [from 2013's 'Savages']. There's songs like 'Sodomites', about the destruction of Sodom; there's songs like 'Shamash', about the Akkadian god of the sun; 'Ishtar' (since retitled 'Ishtar Rising'), which is the Babylonian queen; 'Titanomachy' (since retitled 'Titans'), which is about the war of the titans. So there's really more mystic, exotic sounds and songs and lyrics. So it's really cool. It's really artistic, the new SOULFLY, which I like about it."
In an interview with Metal Wani, Max called "Archangel" "an interesting record." He explained: "It's one of those [records] that come out once in a lifetime, an album like that comes out — really crazy sounds and very different dimensions. It's more experimental than the other stuff. It's still heavy as hell, and it's still fast. And Zyon's [Cavalera, Max's son] playing drums on it. He's actually playing really good. He reminds me of a young Dave Lombardo [SLAYER]. The fills that he's doing [are] really amazing; he surprised everybody in the studio. Matt Hyde is producing; he worked with SLAYER before. So it's really cool; a really good team."
SOULFLY will embark on a North American headlining tour at the end of September. Joining them on this epic campaign are Swedish melodic death metal visionaries SOILWORK, Polish technical death metallers DECAPITATED, and hot newcomers SHATTERED SUN.

ORGY's 'Talk Sick' EP Due This MonthElectronic hard rock kings ORGY will release a seven-song EP, "Talk Sick", on July 31. The EP heralds the band's return to studio (then stage) with the reinvigorated lineup that has been electrifying audiences for years. The EP is a precursor of a full-length record releasing first in Europe, then the U.S. and elsewhere, by the end of the year. "Over the past few years, I spent quite a bit of time off learning from the best in the EDM game how to make electronic music using the latest technology and format," said ORGY founding member Jay Gordon about the progression of in the band's sound. "I feel like, why bother making the same old music when there are so many advancements with sound and style, and production technique? The new music we are making encompasses not just what we see and hear in the U.S. but from all around the globe." While holding true to its goth-filtered-through-industrial origins, ORGY approached "Talk Sick" collaboratively and deliberately to reflect the new era of the band.
"I know it's been a long time coming, so people get frustrated with that," continued Gordon. "We want to make music that feels right. I like to blend multiple styles, and genres, because that's who I am, and what ORGY is all about."
In addition to Gordon, ORGY features Carlton Bost and Creighton Emrick (guitars), Nic Speck (bass), and Bobby Amaro (drums). "Talk Sick" track listing:
01. Talk Sick02. Spells03. Suck It04. Come Back05. Wide Awake and Dead06. G Face07. Monster In Me A free download of the track "Monster In Me" will be available here until August 15.
"Talk Sick" will be available in stores and at all major online retailers, including iTunes and Amazon. Special-edition vinyl will be available at the band's web site on August 21. "Talk Sick" was recorded at Spinal Vinyl, a studio Gordon helped build at Dr. Justin Paquette's compound in Studio City, California. Gordon and Bost produced with ORGY. Gordon wrote all the lyrics. The band wrote the all the music except "Come Back" (written by Alex Niceforo) and "Monster In Me" (written by Gordon, Bost, Devon Culiner and Aaron Shier). Tracks 1, 4, 6, and 7 were mixed by Eric Racy, 2 and 3 by Alex Niceforo and 5 by Mark Needham. Gordon reformed ORGY in 2011 after rabid demand from fans around the world. In September 2012, ORGY released their first single and music video in seven years, "Grime Of The Century", via D1 Music/Riot Media. In 2014, after two years and writing new music and touring, ORGY released their haunting single "Wide Awake and Dead", a musical collaboration written by Carlton Bost, Bobby Amaro, Nic Speck, Creighton Emrick and Jay Gordon. 4

MAD SEASON's 'Live At The Moore' To Be Released On VinylOn April 29, 1995, MAD SEASON — led by ALICE IN CHAINS vocalist Layne Staley and PEARL JAM guitarist Mike McCready — played a historic final performance at The Moore Theatre in Seattle, Washington. Originally released on Columbia on home video, "Live At The Moore" (Legacy Recordings) will be made available on August 28 in a collectible 2LP 12-inch vinyl gatefold package with new liner notes penned by MAD SEASON drummer Barrett Martin specially for this 20th-anniversary edition.
Remastered in stereo sound for this 20th-anniversary vinyl edition, "Live At The Moore" includes the full 11-song set, originally released in part on VHS in 1995 and later expanded for release on CD and DVD as part of the deluxe reissue of "Above" in 2013.
The double vinyl track listing is as follows:
Disc 1
01. Wake Up02. Lifeless Dead03. Artificial Red04. River Of Deceit05. I Don't Wanna Be A Soldier06. Long Gone Day
Disc 2
01. I'm Above02. I Don t Know Anything03. X-Ray Mind04. All Alone05. November Hotel
"Above" was released in 1995 and certified gold for sales of half a million copies. It yielded two Top 20 rock singles, "River Of Deceit" and "I Don't Know Anything". The group officially dissolved in 1999 following the death of bassist John Baker Saunders, while lead singer Layne Staley of ALICE IN CHAINS died three years later in 2002.
McCready told The Pulse Of Radio that revisiting the album was a bittersweet experience. "It's been a lot of mixed emotions," he said. "That was a record I couldn't listen to for a really long time, just because of Layne and Baker both dying, and the darkness that had kind of followed that record. I'm very proud of it, and a lot of fans have come up to me and said that it's their favorite record and it's made a difference in their lives, so that made me kind of happy to know that it did that."
The reissue, made available in April 2013, contained the original album, an unreleased track called "Locomotive", a remix, and three songs written and sung by Mark Lanegan that were originally intended for the band's sophomore album.
The second disc offered a recording of the Moore Theatre show, while the accompanying video was featured on DVD alongside a New Year's Eve performance in Seattle and a couple of radio appearances.

GHOST: New Song 'From The Pinnacle To The Pit' Available For Streaming"From The Pinnacle To The Pit", a brand new song from Swedish occult rockers GHOST, can be streamed below. The track is taken from the band's third album, "Meliora", which will be released on August 21 via Loma Vista Recordings. The follow-up to 2013's "Infestissumam" was helmed by Klas Åhlund, a prolific songwriter, producer and guitarist who is also a member of the Swedish rock band TEDDYBEARS, and was mixed by Andy Wallace (SLAYER, NIRVANA, SEPULTURA, LINKIN PARK, GUNS N' ROSES).
"Meliora" track listing:
01. Spirit02. From The Pinnacle To The Pit03. Cirice04. Spöksonat05. He Is06. Mummy Dust07. Majesty08. Devil Church09. Absolution10. Deus In Absentia
The cover artwork for the CD can be seen below.
GHOST's June 3 warm-up show at at Doom in Linköping served as the group's live debut with their "new" singer, Papa Emeritus III, the three-month-younger brother of GHOST's previous frontman, Papa Emeritus II.
Asked if there is any kind of special audition process for picking a new Papa Emeritus, a nameless ghoul from GHOST told Music Radar: "Fortunately for us, we don't have to do auditions where you put people through the paces. We just expect somebody to be on time, in tune and somewhat glad. Usually we don't see much of our Papas — 'cause they're hanging out with the mamas. [Laughs] They tend to appear as we go on stage and disappear just as quickly. We don't socialize or fraternize that much, which is cool. I don't know him very well, really. He's very new to me."
Regarding whether the fact that the various Papas are "emeritus'" means that they never really go away, the nameless ghoul said: "Well, that's the ironic thing. 'Emeritus' in the tradition of popes means that you're dead — you never get that title until after you've died. Benedictus was the first pope in something like 400 years who was named 'emeritus' while he's still alive. He got to retire with that title. So our Papa Emerituses get to retire, but they're still here."
GHOST will embark on the "Black To The Future" North American headlining tour in the fall. The procession will begin at The Fillmore in Washington, D.C. on September 22. 2

Audio Premiere: LAMB OF GOD's 'Embers' Featuring DEFTONES' CHINO MORENO"Embers", a brand new song from Richmond, Virginia-based metallers LAMB OF GOD, can be streamed below. The track, which features a guest appearance by DEFTONES frontman Chino Moreno, is taken from the band's new album, "VII: Sturm Und Drang", due on July 24 via Epic in the U.S. and Nuclear Blast Entertainment in all territories outside of North America. The CD was once again produced and mixed by Josh Wilbur with engineering by Wilbur, Nick Rowe and Kyle McAulay, and was recorded at NRG Recording Studios in North Hollywood, California and Suburban Soul Studios in Torrance, California.
LAMB OF GOD has announced the variety of bundle options available for the pre-order of "VII: Sturm Und Drang". They range from the "everything bundle" (including the deluxe CD or LP, a 7" vinyl single of bonus tracks, a signed album art lithography, a t-shirt, hoodie, cassette and sticker set and retails for $175) to the standard digital download (which retails for $11.98).
Regarding the "VII: Sturm Und Drang" album title, LAMB OF GOD guitarist Mark Morton told the Swiss TV show "Living Room": "When Randy [Blythe, vocals] and I were putting the lyrics together for this album, we were discussing what the themes were. And we were trying to find a phrase that best encompassed the common threads that ran through the lyrics of all the songs. And it just happened to be that 'Sturm Und Drang' represented that inner conflict and the pressure and the turmoil and the chaos and how one responds to those things. If it had been a French phrase, we would have probably named it that. But it just happened to be German."
The album's first single, "Still Echoes", was made available on May 18 via all digital retailers and streaming services. 14

KING DIAMOND: Video Footage Of Toronto ConcertFan-filmed video footage of KING DIAMOND's July 15 performance in Toronto, Ontario, Canada as part of this year's Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival can be seen below.
In a recent interview with Full Metal Jackie, King Diamond stated about his plans for the band's next studio album: "I was supposed to be in the middle of writing right now, when suddenly we were… We were planning our own tour for this autumn, and suddenly we got the offer of doing [the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival]. And it kind of put a stop to the… 'Cause [my] home studio is ready now to go, but this [tour] is very important to do. So we don't wanna be rushed with writing a new album anyway. So we are gonna take our time, and it's gonna be the best you've ever heard from us — there's no doubt in my mind — 'cause we have all the tools at our fingertips this time. But it has put, you can say, the brakes on starting that process, so we'll pick it up when Mayhem is done. But it's always great to come off a tour and then start writing, 'cause you are very, very inspired. I am, certainly."
"Dreams Of Horror", a 2xCD collection of KING DIAMOND songs, newly enhanced into ultimate editions by King Diamond and Andy La Rocque themselves, sold around 1,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release.
Released last November, "Dreams Of Horror" is the only "best-of" album covering the band's entire career. King Diamond and Andy La Rocque meticulously mastered and enhanced these 23 songs into the ultimate editions, chosen by the band from both the Roadrunner and Metal Blade catalogs.
Swedish bassist Pontus Egberg (THE POODLES, LION'S SHARE, ZAN CLAN) recently joined KING DIAMOND following the departure of Hal Patino.
King, 59, whose real name is Kim Bendix Petersen, underwent open-heart triple-bypass surgery in November 2010. He has since completed his cardiac rehabilitation program and has stopped smoking entirely, changed his diet and is getting regular exercise. 1

Video: New BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE Lineup Performs In Rio De JaneiroFan-filmed video footage of BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE's July 12 performance at Circo Voador in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil can be seen below.
BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE will release its fifth studio album, "Venom", on August 14 via RCA. The CD marks the band's first release since the departure of longtime bassist Jason James and addition of Jamie Mathias. Jamie, who has been playing and touring in bands for the last ten years, fronted the band REVOKER, which released an album, "Revenge For The Ruthless", in 2011 on the Roadrunner label.
Speaking to Kerrang! magazine, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE guitarist/vocalist Matt Tuck stated about Mathias: "He's a Welsh lad. He sent in an audition tape and his was really good. We held auditions for a few guys, and when he came, he just smashed it. He fitted in instantly, especially with the Welsh connection. He plays like a beast and he sings like an angel."
Produced by Carl Bown and Colin Richardson (SLIPKNOT, MACHINE HEAD, TRIVIUM) at Metropolis Studio in London, "Venom" is described in a press release as "an unrelenting, fierce step forward for BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE" and the band's "heaviest record to date."
"We've got massive hopes for this album," Tuck told Kerrang! "We truly believe it's going to be the biggest metal record of the year. We've had these feelings in the past and we've always been spot on, but this one feels way more special than anything else we've ever done, so, fingers crossed, it's going to do what we want it to do."
A new BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE song, "No Way Out", is available for instant download now with all pre-orders at BulletForMyValentine.com. A limited-edition "Venom" package is available exclusively through BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE's webstore. This bundle includes CD, vinyl and cassette versions of "Venom", as well as custom t-shirt, bracelet and necklace. All purchases will include a pre-sale code for early access to tickets for their 2016 headlining tour. BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE will join up with SLIPKNOT and LAMB OF GOD later this month for this summer's North American tour. 3

SLASH: More 'The Hell Within' Movie Details RevealedIconic rock guitarist Slash (GUNS N' ROSES, VELVET REVOLVER) has launched a FanBacked fundraising page for his upcoming horror movie "The Hell Within". The film will be directed by Dennison Ramalho, who contributed to the cult anthology film "The ABCs Of Death 2" and written by Jeff Buhler, who penned the script for "The Midnight Meat Train". It will be produced by Slash under his SlashFiction banner, in partnership with Benito Mueller and Wolfgang Mueller of Barry Films.
Rewards offered to investors include private screenings, premiere tickets, poster design, film scoring sessions with Slash, set visits, personal production update calls from Slash and, for $2,500, a "Corpse Cameo," in which a fan's face will be on a corpse in the film.
"The Hell Within" follows a woman from New York on a quest into the heart of the Brazilian jungle to save a missing girl, only to discover that the child was just the beginning.
Marie and her husband David live a charmed life in Manhattan. He's a successful environmental attorney and she’s built an international aid organization that helps families in need across South America.
The only thing missing is a child.
When they start receiving disturbing phone calls from Teresa, a young girl in Brazil pleading for help, Marie can't shake the feeling these calls are connected to her charity. She convinces David to travel with her to Rio to locate the missing girl and soon a series of strange events and a shocking suicide lead them into the heart of the jungle.
Marie and David find themselves isolated in Seringal, a village overrun with drug runners and lost souls, steeped in ritual and superstition. And as David falls ill to a mysterious disease, Marie begins to realize that the missing child was only the beginning of The Hell Within.
"I love creepy, haunting stuff," says Slash. "I don't go for psycho movies really. But I love monsters and scares that are more cerebral. I love practical effects that make those monsters seem more real on screen. When I read the script for 'The Hell Within', I knew it was the right project for my taste. It spoke to my horror sensibilities. And a story I know horror fans will dig as well."
Slash's first film as a producer, "Nothing Left To Fear", came out in 2013. He told Kerrang! magazine about going from that to his second project, "'Nothing Left To Fear' was really my first go, and it was a crash course in learning the film business… Having done that, I've amassed a lot of different great people to work with, and so now I've got a great crew working on this new movie."
Slash is waiting to get off the road to start production so that he can be on the set during filming. He told The Pulse Of Radio that producing "Nothing Left To Fear" while on tour was a difficult experience. "The production of the film as far as filming had been backed up into my tour, and so I couldn't actually be on location for the filming, which was really a drag," he said. "I managed to show up for one day and one night, and the rest of it was all dailies, and that's complicated 'cause you get done doing a gig, you take the bus to the next hotel, which is maybe four or five in the morning, get the computer out, download all the dailies, look at them, make comments or whatnot, you know, and that was going on for a while."
"The Hell Within" will be released in Barco Escape, a multi-screen, panoramic movie format from Barco, a manufacturer of digital cinema technology. Slash called Barco Escape "a game changer," adding, "It's totally immersive and brings the movie going experience to a whole new level."
Slash and his band are currently touring Europe but will return for some U.S. dates in September.

SEBASTIAN BACH: I've Never Urged Fans To Put Their Cellphones AwayFormer SKID ROW singer Sebastian Bach has denied having ever urged his fans to put their cellphones away while attending one of his concerts, explaining that he is "just offering [his] opinion on the subject."
In a recent interview with SiouxCityJournal.com, Bach lamented the fact that so many people attending shows nowadays are filming low-quality video clips of the performance and later uploading them to YouTube. He said: "Be in the moment. You're distracted and it's distracting to the performer as well. Like, put your fuckin' cellphone away, dammit! You're never even going to watch that footage."
He continued: "If I go to a wedding and sing a song, it's on Blabbermouth the next day and everybody analyzes it. It's a really backwards way to watch a band. It's a drag sometimes when I go up there and the first thing I see is everybody getting their phones out and holding them toward my face. It makes you feel intimidated."
Bach has since clarified his stance on the topic of fans taping his shows, saying that live performers should be given the same respect as films in movie theaters, which have a long-standing policy requiring audiences to silence their phones and putting away any recording devices during showings. The singer told KNAC.COM in a new interview: "Blabbermouth is a site that I actually like. I don't read the comments, I just read the stories, like every other musician. What they'll do is take a sentence I've said and turn it into a headline. The headline was; 'Sebastian Bach To Fans: 'Put Your Fuckin' Cellphones Away!' I've never urged any fans ever! I never did that! I was talking to a guy [during an interview]."
He continued: "Here's my point: When I go to a fucking movie like 'The Avengers', right?!? There's a big fucking sign: 'Please Be Kind And Put Away Your Cellphones,' and if anybody's on a fucking cellphone, I want to fuckin' smack em'! In the movie theater, there's not even anyone on stage! We're watching the playback of a tape! So, for live performances, you don't give the same respect?!? You can't go to a movie and have your cellphone on, but when you have actual live human beings, it's fucking okay? That's fucking bullshit! It's not appropriate in our society to stand up in a theater and film the fucking movie, but it's totally acceptable to do that at a concert? I've done four fucking Broadway shows and you can't pull out your fucking cellphone or you'll get kicked out! Do you know why? Because it's distracting. It's just not the way to watch and enjoy a show."
Bach went on to say: "I've toured with the best of the best. I've filmed shit on my cellphone from the side of the stage watching Axl [Rose] and everybody. Guess how many times I've watched that shit? Zero. I look at it and go, 'That sucks! Delete.' It sounds like shit and it looks like shit. I think it takes the mystery out of rock and roll.
"With the KISS album 'Alive', they've admitted that they overdubbed shit — and that's what everybody loves. If you listened to 'Alive', then went to one of the 'Alive' shows, would you enjoy it as much? No, you wouldn't. That's my point.
"We used to control what got released, which created an element of mystery and implemented quality control. Just because you film it doesn't mean you have to share it with everybody. [Laughs] "
Sebastian added: "When I was in SKID ROW, there were times when we spent entire days doing photo shoots. I mean like eight hours of posing with all the lights and shit. When we would get the photo session back, we would end up with like seven hundred pictures and then we'd pick two and that's what everybody would see. People didn't get to see every fucking picture! We'd pick the best ones. That shit doesn't exist anymore!
"Having said all that… I don't give a fuck. Film whatever you want. I don't care. I'm just offering an opinion, not telling anybody what to do or urging anyone to do or not do anything. I'm just offering my opinion on the subject."
Bach is continuing to tour in support of his latest solo album, "Give 'Em Hell", which was released on April 22, 2014 via Frontiers Records.
As previously reported, Dey Street Books (formerly It Books), an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, has set a January 19, 2016 release date for Bach's much-anticipated autobiography, "18 And Life On Skid Row". 1

SLAYER's KERRY KING: 'I Always Looked Up To GARY HOLT' During Early EXODUS DaysIn a brand new interview with Asbury Park Press, SLAYER guitarist Kerry King spoke about his working relationship with EXODUS's Gary Holt, who has been the touring guitarist for SLAYER for the past four and a half years.
"Well, Gary, I always looked up to Gary when he was playing in EXODUS. I'd always refer to him as the Glenn Tipton [from JUDAS PRIEST] of our era, as far as guitar playing goes, because when people reference guitar players, very rarely does anybody reference Glenn Tipton, and, as far as metal goes, he's a giant. Of course, people talk about Tony Iommi, but for Glenn Tipton not to be in that same conversation is just a tragedy to me. I kind of felt that's how Gary Holt was when he was playing in EXODUS. He was kind of overlooked. So when we had the opportunity to see if he wanted to play with us, [he was] by far my first choice, and, luckily, he was into it."
Asked about the fact that Holt doesn't have any writing credits on SLAYER's forthcoming album, "Repentless", King said: "You know, I thought a very long time about how I wanted to incorporate him on this record, from the fans' perspective, and hopefully Gary's perspective, from my perspective. And I thought that after 30 years, I didn't think fans might be ready for somebody to be contributing on a SLAYER record that wasn't there all the time. But I also, in that same thought, felt that we should have Gary playing something that he contributed, so that when he's playing like it's not just doing a bunch of covers. So that's how I came to the decision of seeing if he wanted to play some leads. And, yeah, for a two-guitar attack, you've got to have two guitars. As far as going forward, I'm open to whichever way we go, but I haven't had that conversation with Tom [Araya, SLAYER bassist/vocalist] or Gary."
"Repentless" will be released on September 11 via Nuclear Blast. The CD's title track is now on sale digitally virtually everywhere, including on Amazon, iTunes and Google. The artwork was created by Brazilian artist Marcelo Vasco in collaboration with the band's Tom Araya and Kerry King.
"Repentless" was produced by Terry Date, who has previously worked with PANTERA, SLIPKNOT and SOUNDGARDEN. 4

IRON MAIDEN's NICKO MCBRAIN On 'The Book Of Souls': 'It's An Absolutely Stunning Piece Of Work'IRON MAIDEN drummer Nicko McBrain was interviewed yesterday (Wednesday, July 15) in the studios of the 98.7 The Gater radio station in West Palm Beach, Florida. You can watch the chat below.
Speaking about IRON MAIDEN's forthcoming album, the 92-minute "The Book Of Souls", Nicko said: "It's an absolutely stunning piece of work. As everybody knows, it's been in the making for a while, and it's definitely worth the wait."
He added: "Every time you make a record, it's the best record you've ever made. This one, without a doubt, is the best record we've ever made. Sonically, it's brilliant, the compositions of the songs are fantastic. It does come in at 92 minutes, but… yeah."
McBrain also talked about MAIDEN's 2016 touring plans in support of "The Book Of Souls". He said: "It's still up in the air as to where and when. It's gonna be a big one, I'm sure. Rod's [Smallwood, IRON MAIDEN manager] told us not to do anything for two years, so… No. We really don't know yet."
A listening party for "The Book Of Souls" will be held on September 3 at Rock N Roll Ribs, the barbecue restaurant owned by McBrain and close friend Mitch Tanne, in Coral Springs, Florida.
"The Book Of Souls" will include "Empire Of The Clouds", an 18-minute track penned by MAIDEN frontman Bruce Dickinson, who was recently given the all-clear after being diagnosed with a tumor on his tongue late last year.
IRON MAIDEN bassist Steve Harris told Kerrang! magazine about the song: "I think it's a masterpiece, actually. I think I can say that because I didn't write it! It sounds like MAIDEN, but it's totally different from what we've done before."
He continued: "Eighteen minutes sounds like a long time, but it's actually such a journey that… Well, it's best just to leave people to listen to it and see what they think. But it's very interesting. It's certainly not boring."
"I think you'll see on this album that there's lots going on. There's a hell of a lot to take in. I think there'll be bits and pieces that will hit people initially, but I think they're going to need a few listens. It's a long album. I think it's a really interesting album. Hopefully other people will think it's interesting as well."
The band announced in May that touring plans to support the album wouldn’t happen until 2016 to allow Dickinson time to fully recuperate after his successful cancer treatment.
"Whenever we do a new album, we always go out with a new stage show; that's exciting in itself," Harris said. "We always feel like every show is sacred these days anyway, and I suppose even more so now after the scare with what's happened with Bruce. It makes everything more important to us."
He continued: "'The Book Of Souls' is a really powerful album, we're really proud of it and we can't wait to come out and play new songs on the tour. We're really looking forward to it."
Due globally on September 4 through Parlophone Records (Sanctuary Copyrights/BMG in the U.S.), "The Book Of Souls" was recorded in Paris, France with producer Kevin "Caveman" Shirley in late 2014, with the finishing touches added earlier this year. 15

HATE ETERNAL has just hit the road in the U.S. as part of this year's "Metal Alliance" tour, which sees the band performing alongside DEICIDE, ENTOMBED A.D., and more.
HATE ETERNAL last year announced the addition of drummer Chason Westmoreland to the group's ranks. The native of Las Vegas, Nevada has been playing drums since the tender age of five and has toured with such renowned acts as FALLUJAH, BURNING THE MASSES, ENFOLD DARKNESS and OCEANO.
Rutan commented on Westmoreland joining the band: "Chason is such an amazing talent and a very determined guy. He came down to try out in June and literally blew us away! We bonded instantly musically and personally, and JJ and I knew he was the right guy and drummer for HATE ETERNAL. Chason has a high motor, hits hard, plays fast and is a very diverse and dynamic player.
"The drums on this album have a very primal and visceral feel to them and I think he did a tremendous job on the recording."
Westmoreland stated about his contribution to the new album: "The new material is very challenging and has a lot going on. I put everything I had into this album and I'm very excited about the results. " 1
