The first official video from JIMI JAMISON’s new solo album Never Too Late, out now via Frontiers Records has been released. Check out the clip for 'Never Too Late' below:
Jimi Jamison has been the singer with TARGET, COBRA and finally SURVIVOR – who rejoined in late 2011 - for more than a decade, apart from being an accomplished solo artist on his own.

Jimi performed back up vocals on recordings by ZZ TOP, JOE WALSH and numerous other recording artists. Among Jamison’s best known performances are 'Burning Heart', from the Rocky IV movie which hit #2 on the Billboard Charts, 'High On You' (#8), and 'The Search Is Over' (#4).
His solo career started in 1991 with the release of When Love Comes Down followed in 1999 by Empires, the album which included the theme, 'I'm Always Here' for Baywatch. In 2008 Jamison teamed up with the other former Survivor bandmate, Jim Peterik who wrote and produced for him the acclaimed album Crossroads Moment. On the heels of this superb release, Jimi toured Europe a few times and culminated with an appearance at the popular Firefest in the UK in 2011.

In the meanwhile Jamison started to work together with Swedish songwriter and producer Erik Mårtensson (W.E.T., Eclipse etc), who had met “virtually” while working on the successful Kimball Jamison duet album to which Mårtensson had contributed with some songwriting. They started laying down the foundations for a new solo album.

“The songs on this CD are truly some of the strongest of my career” says Jamison. “It’s a great pleasure to have songs with such power and ballads with such truth and feeling. It makes it easy to realize the emotion in each vocal. This is my favorite cd to date and 'The Air I Breathe' is the most magic song for me. A track like this only comes along once in a while. Erik really hit the mark here. Brilliant writing.”

Earlier this week, Darren Pope of Examiner.com conducted an interview with MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.

On politics and this week's U.S. presidential elections:

Mustaine: "It's disappointing that people get so uptight about it, so there's not really any positive way for me to talk about it. I love our country and I love our people, I'm just glad that this is over and we can get back to being a nation again. You know, I pray for our president, and I respect the office of the presidency and it's time to support him in his job. You know, we live in the greatest nation in the world, and it's a hard job. The thing I love most about our country is it's a democracy and the people… I support the most are the people in the military. It's like, some of these guys, it's like the movie 'An Officer And A Gentleman', they have nowhere else to go. Many of them are troubled young men and women, many of them came from broken homes."

On Hurricane Sandy:

Mustaine: "My prayers and heart go out to the people on the eastern seaboard, the survivors of Sandy. I heard somebody today talking, and he said that he was happy that Sandy happened, and I thought, 'You have got to be kidding, you did not say that.' I, for one, am never happy when something like that ever happens to some of my countrymen and my thoughts and prayers go out to them. I‘m hoping that in our very small way we can bring some happiness to some of the people on the East Coast for that 90 minutes that we play that they can forget their troubles and just have some entertainment, just remember times that weren't quite so difficult as they are right this moment, and just try to put the pieces back together."

During a brand new interview with IHeartGuitarBlog.com, FAITH NO MORE singer Mike Patton was asked is there are any plans to release any live material from the band's reunion tours. "Right now, we have no plans whatsoever — live, recording or anything," he said. "We've done what we set out to do with the reunion, and it's all great, but it's just, 'Let's see what happens next.' And I think you need to take a pause to actually reflect on something like that, because otherwise we could just keep playing, and we're very conscious of overdoing it, y'know, milking material that's so old. You can only do that for so long, and I feel that we've done pretty well. The whole band's naturally came to this conclusion, so now we're just sitting tight."

According to Patton, one of the reasons the FAITH NO MORE reunion didn't happen sooner is the fact that they wanted to avoid making it feel like a nostalgia thing — like "Here's FAITH NO MORE again." "We wanted it to feel fresh and still somehow vital," he said. "It wasn't an money grab. It's funny to say, but we all kind of reconnected, and after quite a long time we all kinda looked at each other and were like, 'Man, we actually spent half of our lives together.' It's interesting to see it through that set of glasses as opposed to the ones you wore back then. I suppose, at least personally speaking, I've grown up a lot since then, and I think I approach the music differently, and I felt better about the music than I did then."

FAITH NO MORE made a comeback in June 2009 with a headlining performance at the Brixton Academy in London, England and has played sporadic shows for the past three years.

FAITH NO MORE's last LP, "Album Of The Year", came out in 1997.

French one-man black metal project KOSMOS has inked a deal with the Canadian underground label Mulligore Production. The project's "From Innocence to Perversity" CD will be reissued in digipack format on January 5, 2013. The album was mixed and mastered by Naja Atra at the Dithering studios. The artwork was entirely designed by XOV.

KOSMOS was spawned by mainman, all-encompassing composer and lyricist Nekros in July 2010.

"From Innocence to Perversity" was previously self-released in a limited number of copies, along with a specially designed t-shirt. This was the source of much enthusiasm from the media, resulting in coverage in multiple webzines and fanzines. It also got a round-up of labels approaching Nekros for offers, namely French label Mortis Humanae in September 2012. They reissued the album in a limited number of copies in tape format, along with the very first KOSMOS demo ("L'Antithèse") as a bonus.

"From Innocence To Perversity" is a concept album about a child torn from the arms of death by a monk who found him abandoned outside in the middle of harsh winter. This child will then get raised in an incredibly uptight religious context, and will, in turn, have multiple other children to take under his wing within that same light of teaching, only this new monk turned into a perverted entity which will impose unforgivable wrath onto those unsuspecting young souls. The album describes each part of this monk's journey in the form of chapters covering the progression of his regrettable story, from the moment he gets saved in-extremis right towards the day he becomes the master of abomination.

German "post-black metal" band AGRYPNIE will release its new album, "Aetas Cineris", in late February 2013 via Supreme Chaos Records. The CD will be made available as limited digibook as well as a strictly limited vinyl release.

"Aetas Cineris" was recorded in the SU2 studios in Germany. Eklatenz from HERETOIR contributed guest vocals to the effort.

England's ARKHAM WITCH return with their second album, Legions Of The Deep, which will be released on November 9th through Metal On Metal Records.

Those who know the previous works of the band know their personal take on NWOBHM, traditional heavy and doom metal. Greek symphonic metallers NIGHTFALL have completed work on their new album, "Cassiopeia", for a January 2013 release through Metal Blade Records. The recordings took place in four different places: vocals and keyboards were laid down in Greece (Soundflakes studios and Cyberia); the drums were tracked in Germany in the Soundlodge studios; and the guitar and bass were recorded in the U.S. in Nashville, Tennessee at Boomcave studios.

According to a press release, "more than on the previous album, 'Astron Black & The Thirty Tyrants', in 'Cassiopeia' the spirit of old school heavy metal lurks in almost every riff. Unlike 'Astron Black', there are more fast tempos as well as grindy ones bringing memories back from the mid-'90s times of now-cult release 'Athenian Echoes'. The vocals remain very, very heavy and, thanks to Soundflakes' amazing gear and Jörg Uken's super mixing skills, fit great with the melodic leads, moreover creating a solid wall of sound where vocalist Efthimis comfortably sts and spreads his inner daemons out to the world!"

"Shower Of Accusations", the new video from Finnish metallers RUINSIDE, can be seen below. The song comes off the band's debut album, "The Hunt", which was released on October 29 via Mighty Music.

RUINSIDE is a group of thrash metal troopers from Tampere, Finland formed in 2005. After stabilizing in its current cast-in-iron form with the introduction of vocalist Toni Salminen (ex-FARMAKON), in November 2010 the band's lineup was complete. With two independently released EPs — 2008's "To Only Kill For Sport" and 2009's "Rise Up!... To Extermination?" — under their belt, RUINSIDE was ready to hit the studios in spring 2011 to begin work on its debut album. The CD was recorded at MSTR studios and was mxed and mastered by Jussi Kulomaa (MASTERSTROKE).

In addition to the RUINSIDE bandmembers themselves, a long string of session musicians has been attached to the project, playing classical instruments like contrabass, cello, and violin, as well as synthesizers and keyboards. There is also a collaboration with Erkki Seppänen and Seppo Kolehmainen from the Finnish power metal band DREAMTALE.

InsideOut Music has announced the signing of rising young prog upstarts MASCHINE. The U.K. act, which features guitarist/vocalist Luke Machin and bass player Dan Mashal of THE TANGENT, was named "Best New Band" by both Prog magazine and the Classic Rock Society in 2011.

"Since I can remember I've always played the guitar and composed music. To have the amazing credibility that comes with InsideOut to assist our music is extremely exciting," says band leader Luke Machin. "The inspiration that I've taken from many artists over the years, a lot of whom are with InsideOut, I'm certain this album will have something for everyone."

"Vim Patior", a brand new song from Norwegian black metal conjurers NIDINGR, can be streamed below. The track comes off the band's third album, "Greatest Of Deceivers", which will be released in North America on November 20 via Indie Recordings. The CD was recorded at Crystal Canyon Studios in Oslo — home to a host of prominent Norwegian acts including cult experimentalists ULVER — produced by Teloch, mixed by Anders Møller (KITCHIE KITCHIE KI ME O, EUROBOYS, 120 DAYS, TURBONEGRO) and mastered by Jaime Gomez Arellano at Orgone Studios. The effort continues the theme from "Sorrow Infinite And Darkness", based on Enochian texts. As on the previous album, ten Enochian Æthyrs are evoked through the course of the album.

Punk rock icon Henry Rollins has commented on President Barack Obama's defeat over Republican challenger, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, to win re-election to another four-year term as the 44th president of the United States, saying that "I have never been so happy to see an American politician's career come to an end. I didn't think anyone in that dismal world could offend me more than Bush and Cheney, but Romney and Ryan managed to do it. I never thought I would miss John McCain but Romney made me miss him every time I heard Romney speak."

Writing in his weekly column for the music section of the LA Weekly, Rollins added, "Republicans did the best they could to keep people from voting. From sending out mail with the wrong date to cast your ballot to actually attempting to intimidate people at the polls. It didn't work. The American people kicked your ass. That has to hurt a bit. To hurl all your bully bullshit with such force only to see people stand in line for hours to vote, undeterred. Your disrespect for the Constitution and law is incredible. Congratulations, you have no credibility and on top of that, you lost. After all that money you spent in an attempt to steal an election, you still got beat. The fact that you went through all this for the sake of Mitt Romney must make it all the more humiliating."

He continued, "Republicans, these are your people: gay-hating, vagina-fearing phonies with their strange idea of rape who double down on dumb at every given opportunity. Well, at least you've got Clint Eastwood, Meatloaf and some NASCAR-driving dipshits to keep you company. I know 1865 was hard to walk off but come on, y'all, stop embarrassing yourselves!

GWAR frontman Oderus Urungus has commented on the election of President Barack Obama to a second term Tuesday, saying that "it's about time that a different color took over." Speaking to Rock Hard Live before the band's concert last night (November 6) at Ace Of Spades in Sacramento, California, Oderus said (see video below), "I'm fucking sick of white-ass, motherfucking rich people running this fucking country. I'm from Antarctica, but anyone could tell you the days of George Washington are way over. The United States Of America, as much as it is 'the land of the free and the home of the brave,' we did drop two atomic bombs on innocent people, we committed genocide on Native Americans and we built our economy up with slavery. And it's about time that a different color took over, I think. I think white people everywhere are very scared tonight, and I'm really stoked about that."

In a recent interview with the OC Weekly, Oderus stated about this year's presidential election, "I don't know if I want to vote. But I will vote, with my bronze sword. I can tell you that both candidates will be put to death at our show, and we will sew them into one that has the worst policies of both. Where we come from, there is no voting. We settle all of our differences with gladiatorial combat. I am not really backing this whole political process. The only reason we have politicians on our planet, is so they can be crucified. Everything is solved through wars. No debates, no campaigns, no stickers no ballot boxes, and no White House. And the only poll is a huge long pole made of scalding hot red iron."

Reactivated German metallers MAJESTY will release their comeback studio album, "Thunder Rider", on January 4 In Germany, Austria, and Switzerland and on January 25 in the rest of Europe via Austria's NoiseArt Records. In addition to a standard CD release, "Thunder Rider" will be made available as a special edition, including a bonus track and a DVD with the "Metal Union" documentary, along with a vinyl edition.

Singer Jesse Leach has finished laying down vocals on the new album from Massachusetts metallers KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, due in early 2013 via Roadrunner Records.

In an interview with the "Brock And The Fatguy" radio show, Jesse stated about KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's new material, "People are gonna be really surprised; [we're] setting the bar up high once again. It's really fast and it's really heavy. It's not what people are going to anticipate, I'm sure. I literally am getting chills right now talking about it. It's gonna blow the doors off people, man. It's gonna be great."

Leach sang on the band's first self-titled album, which came out in 2000, and on their landmark release, 2002's genre-defining "Alive Or Just Breathing". Leach left the band in 2002 and was replaced by Howard Jones, but his work on "Alive Or Just Breathing" has always been revered by diehard, longtime KILLSWITCH ENGAGE fans.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's April 22 performance at at the New England Metal & Hardcore Festival marked the band's first concert with Leach in more than nine years.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE will celebrate the 10th anniversary of "Alive Or Just Breathing" by performing the entire album during their U.S. headlining tour in November/December. Support on the trek will come from SHADOWS FALL and ACARO.

3 INCHES OF BLOOD vocalist Cam Pipes explains how the song is a tribute anthem: "'Storming Juno' is a tribute to the soldiers of the Canadian armed forces that got the first foothold for the allies on D-Day during World War II. Every November 11th, we remember all who served, some who made the ultimate sacrifice, in service to their country. Releasing this lyric video is our way of acknowledging those who served our country and how proud we are of the significant contribution Canada had in fighting tyranny all those years ago."

For "Long Live Heavy Metal", 3 INCHES OF BLOOD reunited with producer and engineer Terry "Sho" Murray (CITY OF FIRE, EXHIBITIONISTS), who worked with the band on their seven-inch single, "Anthems For The Victorious".

3 INCHES OF BLOOD teamed up with Kim Thiessen to perfect their artistic vision for the album, which was released as a digipack and when opened, lays out similar to that of a book.

3 INCHES OF BLOOD earlier in the year recruited Byron Stroud (STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, FEAR FACTORY) as its new bassist.

Stroud and 3 INCHES OF BLOOD have been working together on a variety of things, and Stroud is beyond pleased to shift his involvement to a creative level.

Virginia-based melodic tech-death metal masters ARSIS have recruited Brandon Ellis as their new guitarist. Brandon has toured with the band in the past but will finally make his recording debut on ARSIS' upcoming full-length release. He replaces guitarist Nick Cordle, who was recently tapped to replace Christopher Amott in the Swedish/German extreme metal act ARCH ENEMY.

"I am super happy to say that Brandon Ellis has recently become the new lead guitarist for ARSIS," commented vocalist/guitarist Jim Malone. "Not only is he one of the best musicians that I have been able to work with, but he shares my passion for all things that are 80's metal, including ridiculously tacky paint jobs on guitars. "Initially when Nick joined ARCH ENEMY, we all thought we could make it work with him having the time for both bands," continued bassist Noah Martin. "Things unfortunately overlapped and we weren't able to work on the new album with him. We appreciate everything he's done for ARSIS. We'll miss our friend greatly and do wish him all the best. Both Nick and Ryan Knight (THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER), contributed ridiculous leads for the album.

"Brandon's solos on this full-length are both crushing and particularly creative. His presence, along with Shawn's [Priest; drums], were integral to the tone of this album. ARSIS's 2010 album, "Starve For The Devil" (Nuclear Blast Records), sold 1,800 copies in the United States in its first week of release, landing at No. 13 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart.

Canadian thrash metal veterans SACRIFICE will re-release their classic albums "Torment In Fire" (1985), "Forward To Termination" (1987) and "Soldiers Of Misfortune" (1990) in early 2013 as picture-disc LPs through vinyl label War On Music Records.

With the 2010 LP pressings now sold out and safely in the hands of vinyl collectors and thrash maniacs around the globe, War On Music will issue a one-time repress of the three records as picture-disc vinyl. The releases will feature the original artwork in a high-gloss die-cut LP jacket and will be strictly limited to 500 copies each.

War On Music released SACRIFICE's latest work, "The Ones I Condemn", on vinyl in 2010, as well as a limited split seven-inch with PROPAGANDHI, featuring a timeless cover of RUSH's "Anthem".

Unique Leader Records has set a February 5, 2013 release date for "Dingir" (din-jeer), the sophomore album from announced that Northern California extremists RINGS OF SATURN. The CD was mixed and mastered by Robert Swanson of Mayhemeness Studios in Sacramento, California. The cover art was created by Mark Cooper of Mindrape Art.

According to a press release, "the over-the-top technical machine have out done themselves once again with shredding guitar work, blisteringly fast drum work, and crushing vocals. While the band stays true to their unique alien-like sound that they are known for, they also expand on it to surprising heights with 'Dingir'. Groovy rhythms, structured solos, subtle melodic passages, and better overall production bring a much more mature and refined sound to the band which is sure to please old and new listeners alike."

Commented RINGS OF SATURN guitarist Lucas Mann: "Instrumentally, we wanted to expand on the chaotic sound that we have become known for in 'Embryonic Anomaly', but at the same time wanted to add in new progressive and melodic elements that would compliment all the dissonance found in our music. This is very apparent on the instrumental track, 'Utopia', and on the second-to-last track, 'Immaculate Order', where you will find that we concentrated solely on progressive melody. Lyrically, the album stays true to the subjects that RINGS OF SATURN is known for. The album title, 'Dingir', translates over from ancient Sumerian language, meaning deity, god, or sky. SKID ROW has set "United World Rebellion - Chapter 1" as the title of its next album, tentatively due in early 2013 via an as-yet-disclosed label.

In support of the new CD, SKID ROW will embark on a U.K. headlining tour in April 2013. The band's guitarist, Dave "Snake" Sabo, said, "The U.K. has been so loyal to us from the beginning. It's been far too long since we've been there. We're all very excited about going back and about the other great bands on the bill. We promise that these will be some of the best shows of our career."

The band' bassist Rachel Bolan previously told Times-Standard.com about SKID ROW's forthcoming sixth LP, "I think the next record, as far as what Snake and I are writing, is going back to what people would expect from SKID ROW. We're looking forward to it."

SKID ROW's last album "Revolutions Per Minute", was released on October 24, 2006 via SPV Records.

The band in 2010 parted ways with drummer Dave Gara and replaced him with Atlanta native Rob Hammersmith.

Rob spent many years touring and recording with Atlanta-based rockers ROCKETS TO RUIN and has performed with GUNFIRE 76, the band featuring MURDERDOLLS frontman Wednesday 13.

KOBRA AND THE LOTUS recently released a video for the song "50 Shades Of Evil", the second single from the Calgary, Alberta, Canada-based female-fronted metal band's current self-titled album, released in August via Spinefarm Records.

Directed by Lisa Mann, whose previous credits include videos for APOCALYPTICA, THE USED and CASCADA, "50 Shades Of Evil" sees KOBRA AND THE LOTUS frontwoman Brittany Paige surviving a full-tilt attack on the senses, while her bandmembers run through the song like men (literally) possessed!

"50 Shades Of Evil" was released as a digital single on November 5. The bonus track is an acoustic cover of the DIO classic "Rainbow In The Dark" performed by KOBRA AND THE LOTUS during their acoustic session at the Bloodstock Open Air festival back in August.

In a recent interview with May The Rock Be With You, Brittany Paige stated about the band's sound, "KOBRA AND THE LOTUS is a traditional, straight-up heavy metal band. It's not a niche, it's just driving riffs, duelling guitars, there's a melodicness to the music and there is a classic metal vocal. We are all about traditional heavy metal, but bringing in the flavors of our generation for a slight twist."

She added, "Our music will always stay as heavy metal, even though it will evolve in some shape or form. But we all listen to such different things, which is a really great thing. There's certainly death metal and black metal influences, we've got experimental and folk metal, there's so many different things that come into play, and if you listen to the music, you can hear some of those coming through, but which you wouldn't really pick up on unless you knew someone in the band was into Gary Moore, or the blues, for example, then it makes sense."

Virginia grindcore titans PIG DESTROYER have re-signed with their longtime record label Relapse.

Said PIG DESTROYER drummer Adam Jarvis: "Super-excited to be a part of the extraordinary Relapse Records again! A song comes to mind in the melody of the 'Team America' jingle. "Relapse, FUCK YEAH! Once again, signing a muthafuckin contract!"

PIG DESTROYER's fifth-full length and first album in over five years, "Book Burner", sold more than 4,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 102 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD landed at position No. 2 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
