APPARITIONS Sign To Indianola Records; Debut Album Details Revealed

APPARITIONS Sign To Indianola Records; Debut Album Details Revealed

Post-hardcore outfit APPARITIONS (formerly THIS TWILIGHT CITY) have signed with Indianola Records

Vocalist Brandon Spearman commented on the signing: “We are very excited to be a part of such an amazing label that has had some very historical and meaningful releases throughout the years.”

The band’s debut album entitled Kiss Me Sleeping, will be released February 26th, 2013.
Kiss Me Sleeping was produced by Jamie King (BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME, ALESANA) at his studio in North Carolina.

Second vocalist Alex Lee commented on the process: “Working with Jamie King isn't something I would've predicted happening. If you told me two years ago I wouldn’t have believed it. Some very monumental albums of my upbringing were produced by him. I feel very honored to be recording with Jamie.”

Lee further commented on the album: “Kiss Me Sleeping was an original idea for a band name before we agreed on Apparitions. It stands for times in my life I was at my absolute darkest. Like the real me was gone or sleeping rather. All the while there was always someone there who loved me unconditionally. The lyrics on the album are a definite 180 from the This Twilight City love songs. We are more aggressive, and that raw crazy sound needed some deeper lyrics from the darkest parts of me. It touches on my alcoholism, sexual appetite, my ‘Forget it moments’, and just things of that sort.”

JOURNEY Guitarist Neal Schon Releases 'The Calling' Video On iTunes; Preview Available

Taking a detour from his main job as lead guitarist for JOURNEY, the multi-talented Neal Schon released his new solo album, The Calling, in Europe on October 19th. It will hit stores on October 23rd in North America. Produced by and featuring Schon on all guitars and bass, The Calling reunites Schon with former Journey bandmate, Steve Smith, who lends his virtuoso drum talents to all 12 tracks on the new album.

Schon set up shop at Berkeley’s famed Fantasy Studios during a break from Journey’s busy touring schedule and recorded the album, completely from scratch, in just four days. Igor Len, an accomplished classical, jazz and film composer who had previously collaborated with Schon, is featured on acoustic piano throughout The Calling album.

Grammy Award-winning special guest Jan Hammer (JEFF BECK, MAHAVISHNU ORCHESTRA, Miami Vice soundtrack) recorded Moog synthesizer solos on two tracks – Fifty Six and Tumbleweeds. Recently, Schon teamed up with Dan Barnett (Journey: Live In Manila) to produce the video for the first single and title track from The Calling.

FLYLEAF Singer Quits

FLYLEAF Singer Quits

Longtime FLYLEAF lead singer Lacey Sturm has announced her departure from the band. Kristen May, formerly of the group VEDERA, will join the remaining members of FLYLEAF on the road to promote their new album, "New Horizons".

Commented FLYLEAF bassist Pat Seals: "As FLYLEAF begins this new cycle to introduce our third record, 'New Horizons', we feel our fans should know that Lacey has stepped down as lead vocalist of the band. Her statement below expresses her reasons for leaving.

"In order to continue on with 'New Horizons', Sameer, Jared, James, and myself have selected Kristen May, formerly of VEDERA, to assume lead vocal duties for future tour dates.

"We are excited for this new chapter in the history of FLYLEAF, and hope that our fans will accompany us as we continue on this journey to bring hope and inspiration through our music.

"We would like to thank everyone who has supported us over the years and we are looking forward to playing for you again soon."

Sturm's official statement about her departure:

"I have been beyond blessed to be in FLYLEAF for the past ten years, touring with four amazing men and the FLYLEAF crew, whom I love like my flesh and blood family. They have all given so much.

"It took everyone on our team to make the beauty in FLYLEAF possible.

"I am honored to have met so many wonderful people who love FLYLEAF music all over the world. Your incredible stories continue to inspire me.

"I am very thankful to have recently become a mom to one of the greatest blessings of my life, my son Jack.

"You may have also heard that we recently lost our brilliant sound engineer, Rich Caldwell, in a devastating car accident. Now, more than ever, I understand the phrase 'Memento Mori.' I understand that, for me, living life to the fullest in this season means to step down as the lead singer for FLYLEAF.

"I wish the best to Jared, Pat, Sameer and James and I know that as I continue to pursue the highest heights of what I am created for, it will free them all to pursue that for themselves too. The guys will continue to tour and write music together. I'm so very grateful that they are able to do what they desire and that there is a beautiful and talented, warm-hearted girl like Kristen May to sing for them. Because of this, you will all get a chance to see a new FLYLEAF show and support the new album.

"As I take this first step on a new journey, I pray that each one of you would pursue your highest calling with reckless abandon as well, understanding that sometimes the fullness of life comes in doing things that are only understood by you, God, and the special people God has put in your life that truly love you for you… not for what you do, but for who you are.

"I love you guys so much and in many ways, I will stay in touch. May God bless you all with healthy hearts, full of courage to weather the journey to your own 'New Horizons.'"

"New Horizons" will be released on October 30 via A&M/Octone. The CD's cover artwork was designed by Pat Seals, who also created a fold-out poster as part of the packaging.

FLYLEAF has just released the second single from the album titled "Call You Out". The song is the follow-up to the title track from the new CD.

FLYLEAF's debut self-titled album has now sold 1.4 million units and is certified platinum. "All Around Me" reached the Top 10 on Top 40 Radio. FLYLEAF has also charted six singles at modern and rock radio.

FLYLEAF's last album, "Memento Mori", debuted at No. 8 on The Billboard 200 chart. "Again" from the album went all the way No. 2 at Modern Rock radio.

STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor recently told Artisan News that he would like to see the band's new conceptual record be adapted as a movie as well. He said, "Once we've toured and we've got the music out to everyone, the thing I really wanna do is have two movies — Part 1 and Part 2. With the comic and the story and the music, I think we'll be able to do it. I already know who I wanna talk to about doing it, so we'll see what happens."

Taylor did not say who he would like to direct the movie, or if it would be produced through Living, Breathing Films, the production company he and SLIPKNOT percussionist Clown launched earlier this year.

He told The Pulse Of Radio at the time why he and Clown decided to get into the movie business. "It's something that we're very passionate about, you know," he said. "We have the same passion for film as we do for music and it's really just our way of kind of, you know, learning the business and once we learn a little more, you know, we get a few projects under our belt and we're gonna start accepting scripts and developing our own scripts, and I think it's gonna be something that's really cool."

The comic book version of "House Of Gold & Bones" will debut on April 17, 2013. The four-issue series will be published by Dark Horse Comics and will visualize the sci-fi short story that forms the basis of the albums.

BEHEMOTH: Video Footage Of Entire Uruguay Concert

BEHEMOTH: Video Footage Of Entire Uruguay Concert

Fan-filmed video footage of BEHEMOTH's entire October 18 performance at La Trastienda in Montevideo, Uruguay can be seen below.

BEHEMOTH singer/guitarist Adam "Nergal" Darski recently told Terrorizer magazine about the songwriting process for the band's next CD, "We've changed our attitude with this album. We've cut down all the analyzing and thinking about the music. This album will be very instinct-driven and whatever comes out of our system will come out naturally on the record."

In an April 2012 interview with Metal Blast, Nergal offered more information about BEHEMOTH's mindset going into the next album. "We want to take our time and not rush ourselves in any way," he said. "It looks like it might be the most important album in our career. I want to make the most honest record and I won't be bending to anyone's rules or expectations, including [BEHEMOTH's record labels] Metal Blade or Nuclear Blast. Every next BEHEMOTH album is a surprise and is never the same. . . We don't want to stress ourselves because the music business and the direction it takes is not as I would like it to be. That means we will be going against the current again and just do as we will and please. Whatever we do is going to be BEHEMOTH, 100%. It is the state of our will and nobody can deny it. I can tell you that we aren't going to come out with a reggae or country album; it's going to be BEHEMOTH, it's going to be extreme. But don't be surprised if people listened to it and said, 'Fuck, they did it. It's so amazing.' [Laughs] That's what I like to say when I listen to my own music. I love to surprise myself. I hate things that are predictable. I want to surprise myself and surprise other people, as well. . . Don't get me wrong, I am a huge AC/DC fan and I expect AC/DC to be AC/DC, but don't expect BEHEMOTH to put out another 'The Apostasy', 'Demigod' or 'Evangelion' album, because that will not happen."

"Robb's MetalWorks" conducted an interview with TREMONTI, the band led by CREED and ALTER BRIDGE guitarist Mark Tremonti, on October 7 at the Sunken Gardens Theater in San Antonio, Texas. You can now watch the chat below.

VAN HALEN bassist Wolfgang Van Halen made his first appearance as part of Tremonti's solo band last month at a show in Rhode Island. This marks the first time Wolfgang has played with anyone outside of his father Eddie, his uncle Alex and singer David Lee Roth.

Wolfgang Van Halen is replacing Tremonti's bandmate from CREED and ALTER BRIDGE, Brian Marshall, who is sitting out the Tremonti trek for undisclosed personal reasons. The other members of Tremonti's touring band include Eric Friedman on guitar and Garrett Whitlock on drums.

NONPOINT: Video Footage Of Entire Corpus Christi Concert

Fan-filmed video footage of NONPOINT's entire October 16 concert at Brewster Street Icehouse in Corpus Christi, Texas can be seen at this location. A couple of the clips are available below.

The new self-titled album from NONPOINT sold 7,300 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 62 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band's previous CD, "Miracle" (2010), opened with around 8,000 units to land at No. 60.

"Nonpoint" was produced/mixed by Grammy-nominated producer Johnny K (DISTURBED, STAIND, MEGADETH) and features additional production and mixing from Brian Virtue (30 SECONDS TO MARS, CHEVELLE). The CD contains 12 of the most raw and real songs of their 15-year career with unique, uncompromising, and undeniable hard rock on their self-titled ninth studio album and first for Razor & Tie. Weathering lineup changes, label shifts, and other trials and tribulations, founding members Elias Soriano (vocals) and Robb Rivera (drums) regrouped with fresh blood — Dave Lizzio (guitar), Adam Wolosyzn (bass), and Rasheed Thomas (guitar) — and captured pure fire this time around.

MESHUGGAH:

MESHUGGAH: 'Demiurge' Video Released

"Demiurge", the new video from Swedish experimental extreme metallers MESHUGGAH, can be seen below.

Combining extreme camera angles with adrenaline-inducing performance footage from the band's sold-out show at Terminal 5 in New York City this past May, "Demiurge" was filmed and directed by Anthony Dubois. The song comes off MESHUGGAH's latest album, "Koloss", which has sold more than 41,000 copies in the United States since its March release.

In an interview with MSN's metal music section Headbang, MESHUGGAH drummer Tomas Haake stated about the band's decision to call the new album "Koloss", "It's not so much like a theme, it's kind of how the overall album is more towards something heavier than anything that we've ever done. We wanted something that had that sound to it, something monolithic, something huge. Also a few things that tied into that was the stress and anxiety that a few of us went through up until we started recording this album because of previous sessions where we felt we were doing things the wrong way. That lingers with you, you don't want to do the same mistakes again, you want to save the mental health of a few in the band as well, try to do things another way. So it felt like a colossal thing to get out of the hat this time, even though it went smoother in a lot of ways. Also once we knew what artwork we were using, because it's not artwork that was designed for this album, it was an existing piece of art by this Russian artist Luminokaya, we just fell in love with the piece and we found out it hadn't been used for anything, so we could buy the rights for it. Once we saw that, and we already had the title 'Colossus', we had that song in there, we just felt like this creature on the cover looks like, is it a god, is it a devil, what is it? The word 'Koloss' just fit for some reason."

On the topic of how the band found the album artwork, Haake said, "I don't even remember, I think I was just looking through random art online probably three or four years ago I saw this guy's art the first time. I got in contact with him, and initially he was supposed to do something for the album but we trailed off into other things and we didn't stay in touch for a while. I just took for granted that the piece had been used for something already, but when I finally asked him he said no, it was up for grabs. He's done a lot of additions and renditions and versions of it for the whole layout, so he's spent a lot of time on it too, and we're really stoked that we ended up using this art."

Regarding the suggestion that "Koloss" sounds like MESHUGGAH deliberately tried to expand its sound even more than on "ObZen", Haake said, "We definitely pushed ourselves hard with 'ObZen', too, but maybe that one feels even more like a flirtatious thing with the stuff we were doing earlier on and the stuff we grew up with. I still feel there's some of that on this one too, with the different tunings, and a couple of the songs are actually written for six-string guitar and not all of them being really down-tuned eight-stringed stuff. That's definitely to get that old-school thrash vibe in there, even though the music is different, of course. There's definitely a little bit of that going on this album, too. But apart from that, we basically tried to create something that we find intriguing. We always try to find new ways of writing our own music, so to speak, to see if there's an additional lateral movement, a sideways step that we can take for ourselves to feel that we did something new with this one and that we pushed ourselves into doing something that came out cool and refreshing. That's kind of what we always aim for, and this time it came out like this."

FEAR FACTORY:

FEAR FACTORY: 'The Industrialist' Video Released

Los Angeles cyber metallers FEAR FACTORY have released a video (see below) for the title track of their new album, "The Industrialist". The clip, which contains footage from this past June's Graspop Metal Meeting in Dessel, Belgium, was helmed by James Zahn, the man responsible for creating the "The Industrialist" album trailer.

"The Industrialist" sold 9,300 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 38 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band's previous CD, "Mechanize", opened with 10,000 units back in February 2010 to land at No. 72.

Released in North America on June 5 via Candlelight Records, "The Industrialist" is a conceptual record based around a story written by Burton C. Bell. Lyrics to the album's ten songs divulge the narrative as discussed recently by Bell with Decibel magazine. The album's artwork was created by American designer Anthony Clarkson with additional direction from the band. The album was made available on three formats — standard CD, a limited edition deluxe digi-book (featuring two additional songs), and 180-gram double vinyl.

FEAR FACTORY recently enlisted Matt DeVries as the band's new bass player. DeVries, previously of CHIMAIRA (where he played guitar) and most recently SIX FEET UNDER, joined FEAR FACTORY as the replacement for Byron Stroud (now with 3 INCHES OF BLOOD). FEAR FACTORY also tapped Mike Heller (MALIGNANCY, SYSTEM DIVIDE) as its new touring drummer.

CINDERELLA Frontman TOM KEIFER: Audio Samples Of Two New Solo Tracks Available For Streaming

CINDERELLA Frontman TOM KEIFER: Audio Samples Of Two New Solo Tracks Available For Streaming

CINDERELLA frontman Tom Keifer has uploaded audio samples of two news solo tracks, "Solid Ground" and "The Flower Song", at TomKeifer.com. he states: "As promised, some new music, but it won't be here forever..."

Keifer has inked a deal with Jack Ponti's Merovee Records, a joint venture with David Letterman's Worldwide Pants, for the release of his long-awaited debut solo album. Due in early 2013, the as-yet-untitled CD will feature 14 tracks that are described by Ponti as “intimate, organic, acoustic tracks to driving hard rock. It embraces the blues, rock and country roots." The lyrics will take an introspective look at the roller coaster ride that has been Keifer's life for the past 15 years. From being told that he would never sing again as a result of a partially paralyzed left vocal cord, to the emotional and personal battles that followed, his solo debut is a story of perseverance, a testament to the power of passion and will, when combined with a true love of music.

In a 2011 interview with Sweden's Metalshrine, Keifer was asked whether his solo album was going to be a whole lot different from CINDERELLA. Tom replied, "No, not really, because being the lead singer and the main songwriter and I did a lot of the guitar work in CINDERELLA, it's kind of hard to run from my sound. I had a lot of influence over those records so… I'm just doing what I do and that's hard rock inspired by blues and roots music. What I did in CINDERELLA is what I love to do and what I'm doing on my own is what I love to do. I try to be true to what I like. It's similar in that way, you know. Dynamically the records, the CINDERELLA records, and especially as they went on into 'Long Cold Winter' and 'Heartbreak Station', they had a lot of different flavors and colors and dynamics and different types of songs, which I always like because the bands that I grew up on, like, [LED] ZEPPELIN and THE [ROLLING] STONES, they really covered a lot of area musically. My solo record does that, too, and I think it makes for a more interesting record when it's not just the same song for 14 tracks."

AEROSMITH - 'Beautiful' Track Premiere Online; Steven Tyler Comments

On November 6th, AEROSMITH will release Music From Another Dimension! on Columbia Records. It marks the band’s 15th studio album and their first studio album of all-new material in 11 years.
RollingStone.com are premiering the album, one track at a time, in the weeks leading up to the release. 'Beautiful' unfolds like a collision of eras and Aerosmiths, opening with a grind of guitars as brutal as 1973's 'Train Kept A-Rollin'' and a grunting, barking rap from Steven Tyler, before shifting into a soaring melodic chorus closer to the sweeping radio hits they'd perfected by the early Nineties. It was co-written and co-produced by Marti Frederiksen, a close collaborator since Aerosmith re-emerged as a major act in the MTV era.

"He can take a fart and make it a chorus," Tyler says of Frederiksen's skill at the Pro Tools monitor. And bassist Tom Hamilton calls him a challenging creative partner, "because the guy thinks and works so fast. He goes for it."

The album track, 'Oh Yeah', can be heard at this location.

'Oh Yeah', the second track on Music From Another Dimension!, was written by guitarist Joe Perry back at his Boneyard Studio in suburban Boston. 'Oh Yeah' began in a funkier groove than the churning, straight-ahead rocker it would later become, and singer Steven Tyler wasn't sold on it at first. He did know he wanted to sing the lyrics himself: "I would die for you baby/ I cry for you baby . . . Won't ya please give me some of your love?"

By the time album sessions began in Los Angeles, Perry brought it to the band and said, "Let's do it double-time and make it rock," he recalls, and singer Steven Tyler kept telling him how much he liked the lyrics. "It didn't knock me out, but in the meantime Steven kept saying, 'It's really good this way.' Then we'd add more, and it got better and better."

Aerosmith have launched the video premiere of 'What Could Have Been Love', the latest single from the band's new album, Music From Another Dimension!, available November 6th via Columbia Records. The clip can be seen below:

Music From Another Dimension! was recorded in Los Angeles and at the band’s studio in Massachusetts; it was produced by Jack Douglas, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, with the exception of three tracks produced by Tyler and Marti Frederiksen.

“It’s not that it took ten years,” Steven Tyler says, “but that we were busy getting ready!”

"This is the album we wanted to make since the band got back together in 1984,” Joe Perry says. “Can't complain about number one singles or album-driven sold-out world tours, as we blaze the Aerosmith trail with our fans. But this is the record that when the five of us are in a room yelling turn up the volume, that room could be 1325 Commonwealth Avenue (a reference to the band’s first apartment where they lived and wrote their first song).”

A deluxe version of Music From Another Dimension! will include:

- Four live performance videos: 'Rats In The Cellar', 'Train Kept A Rollin'', 'Oh Yeah' and 'Same Old Song and Dance'
- Exclusive interviews with the members of Aerosmith band members
- Three exclusive new bonus tracks: 'Up On A Mountain', 'Oasis' and 'Sunny Side of Love'
Music From Another Dimension! tracklisting is as follows:

'LUV XXX'
'Oh Yeah'
'Beautiful'
'Tell Me'
'Out Go The Lights'
'Legendary Child'
'What Could Have Been Love'
'Street Jesus'
'Can’t Stop Loving You' (with CARRIE UNDERWOOD)
'Lover A Lot'
'We All Fall Down'
'Freedom Fighter' (with JOHNNY DEPP)
'Closer'
'Something'
'Another Last Goodbye'

NOTHNEGAL:

NOTHNEGAL: 'Sins Of Our Creations' Video Released

"Sins Of Our Creations", the new video from Maldives-based death/black metallers NOTHNEGAL, can be seen below. The clip was created by Mohamed Sathom.

"Sins Of Our Creations" comes off NOTHNEGAL's full-length debut, "Decadence", which was released on January 20, 2012 (January 24 in the U.S.) via Season Of Mist. The CD was mixed by Greg Reely (FEAR FACTORY, MACHINE HEAD, DEVIN TOWNSEND) and Ahti Kortelainen (SENTENCED, SONATA ARCTICA).

"Decadence" track listing:

01. Salvation
02. Claymore
03. Janus
04. Decadence
05. Armageddon
06. R.A.D.A.R.
07. Sins Of Our Creations
08. Singularity

Commented NOTHNEGAL guitarist Hilarl: "'Decadence' is NOTHNEGAL's first official studio release and the first release featuring the current lineup, with Fufu handling both the guitar and vocal duties, Marco on keyboards and Kevin on drums

"The writing process of 'Decadence' began in summer 2010 and has been quite a challenge for us as we have taken time to do a lot of experimentation on the sound shifting more towards thrash and progressive metal with industrial elements making it entirely different from the sound we had on our 2009 four-track demo, 'Antidote Of Realism'. With a completely new and original sound and attitude we feel like we starting again from scratch as we believe NOTHNEGAL have finally discovered its sound with 'Decadence'."

NOTHNEGAL's recording lineup:

* Fufu - Vocals, Guitar
* Hilarl - Guitar
* Marco Sneck (KALMAH, POISONBLACK) - Keyboards/Samples
* Kevin Talley (DAATH, CHIMAIRA, MISERY INDEX, DYING FETUS) – Drums

MOTÖRHEAD

MOTÖRHEAD's Signature Wine Sells More Than 300,000 Bottles

MOTÖRHEAD's signature wine — which made its debut in Sweden in 2010 — has sold more than 300,000 bottles since it was launched.

The Australian Shiraz has been carefully selected by the hard rock legends and has been described as a wine with a fruity aroma, flavors of vanilla, blackberries, plums, eucalyptus and liquorice, but with soft rounded tannins. Or, as Lemmy Kilmister, lead singer, bass player and founder of the band, puts it: "My advice is — approach it with caution. I mean, wine is deceptive, anything can happen."

The wine, which should be served slightly cooler than usual around 16-18 degrees, goes well with lamb or beef dishes, as well as pasta and flavoursome cheeses. The band recommends drinking it with grilled lamp chops with garlic and rosemary, while listening to anything by MOTÖRHEAD, from 1980's "Ace Of Spades" to 2010's universally acclaimed "The Wörld Is Yours" — denim and leather optional.

"The wine reflects MOTÖRHEAD's spirit. Like the band, this wine is rock hard on the outside, but dark and intriguing on the inside," says MOTÖRHEAD drummer Mikkey Dee.

The initiative for Motörhead Shiraz came from Bevarages Per Minute Sweden who contacted the band with the idea. Grapes Svenska AB was commissioned to produce it.

When asked how the idea for Motörhead Shiraz came about, Lemmy said in a recent interview, "Well, the company takes care of the business end and all I have to worry about is the quality. I am not going to sell shit to people, you know. We have a wine as well, that is very good. It was really simple how I got into it. This guy came up and said, 'You know, you could make money if we make this wine.' I said, 'Okay.' I think it is a California wine or it might be Spanish, I don't know. The vodka is Swedish."

05. Cheap Sunglasses

"The Veil Of Isis" can be streamed at RollingStone.com.

According to THE SWORD frontman J.D. Cronise, "The Veil Of Isis" is the most "SWORD-ish" song of the album musically, yet notes that lyrically, "it's a little more metaphysical than a lot of our previous stuff. It talks a lot about cycles of nature and life and death and birth and transformation and death and rebirth.

"In essence, the song is about change," Cronise tells RollingStone.com. "[It's about] moving from one phase of the natural cycle to the next and the recognition of the knowledge revealed when such transitions occur. The lyrics make reference to Isis, the goddess of nature and magic, and her brother/husband Osiris, the god of the dead and the afterlife, as agents of those changes and keepers of sacred knowledge. The 'veil' is that which hides from us the true nature of the universe that, during our earthly existence, is largely hidden from us."

THE SWORD is now offering a limited-time-offer bundle including:

* Autographed limited-edition glow-in-the-dark 12-inch vinyl
* "Apocryphon" deluxe version digipak CD
* Three hand-numbered triptych 11 x 17 lithograph black light reactive posters
* Exclusive limited-offer "Apocryphon" T-shirt
* "Apocryphon" slipmat
* Includes digital download code

Asked about the band's decision to work with J. Robbins on "Apocryphon" after self-producing two records and then working with Matt Bayles, THE SWORD guitarist Kyle Shutt told AltPress.com, "We're all huge CLUTCH fans, and we know those guys real well. [James] did two of their last three records, and those sound great, so we figured it was a no-brainer. We called him up and he was into it. He saw our live show at a club in Baltimore on the tour before we came here so he could get a feel of the kind of show we put on because we wanted to make an album that sounds like we do live in a club. And it was great. It was a real speedy process."

On the topic of the musical direction of the new album, Shutt said, "It is a reflection of everything that we [have gone] through and the lessons we learned. We then deal with these situations metaphorically in our lyrics. This record is just 10 banging hard rockers. There's no real 'stick-out' thrash song, or, like, this one is the ballad. I don't think there's going to be any instrumental songs on this record, either, so that'll be a first for us. It's just 10 kick-ass rock songs."

Regarding the subject matter covered in the new songs' lyrics, Shutt said, "There are lyrical themes that weave in and out of the songs, but there's no story or anything like that. With 'Warp Riders', J.D. [guitarist/vocalist John Cronise] had already written [the story] and now he [doesn't] have the time to sit down and write another book. We had the idea to make a comic book for 'Warp Riders', but we had some really poor management at the time, so nothing really came together with that and it was going to cost so much money that it never saw the light of day. It was just a nice thing we did. Now we're moving on to other things."

KAMELOT:

KAMELOT: 'Sacrimony (Angel Of Afterlife)' Video Released

"Sacrimony (Angel Of Afterlife)", the new video from American/German/Swedish symphonic metallers KAMELOT, can be seen below. The clip was filmed in Belgrade, Serbia with director Ivan Colic, who has previously worked with MOONSPELL, SOILWORK, HAMMERFALL, TYPE O NEGATIVE and SYMPHONY X, among others. The video features guest appearances by Elize Ryd (AMARANTHE) and Alissa White-Gluz (THE AGONIST). Alissa's cameo was shot by Von Wong Photography at Studio Newreel in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

"Sacrimony (Angel Of Afterlife)", which is available on iTunes, comes off KAMELOT's new album, "Silverthorn", due on on October 30 in North America, October 26 in Germany and October 29 in the rest of Europe via Steamhammer/SPV. The CD will mark the band's first release with new singer Tommy Karevik, the 30-year-old Swede who previously fronted SEVENTH WONDER (a group that he is still a member of).

In a recent interview with the Kamelot France web site, KAMELOT guitarist Thomas Youngblood stated about "Sacrimony", "We have a lot of strong songs on the album, but this one was the first one that we wanted to play [during this summer's European tour]. Ironically, it was one the last song we wrote the music for. I remember sitting with [KAMELOT keyboardist] Oliver [Palotai] in Stuttgart and I had to leave the next day for Florida. I said, 'Let's make one more song, something fast and uptempo.' That was the genesis for 'Sacrimony'. Later, [new KAMELOT singer] Tommy [Karevik] laid down a killer vocal melody and it was pretty much like on the demo. Later, we invited Elize Ryd [KAMELOT touring backing vocalist] to sing on that song."

The "Silverthorn" LP and limited edition will have one version of the cover artwork, while the standard version of "Silverthorn" will have a different but equally exquisite version. The standard version is presented as an Ecolbook. The limited edition contains the Ecolbook, a bonus CD with nearly 60 minutes of music, a 44-page book and an exclusive poster. The double LP version is a gatefold on colored vinyl and includes the CD.

Tommy first appeared as one of the guest singers on KAMELOT's very successful 2011 Pandemonium World Tour.

KAMELOT recently supported Finnish/Dutch symphonic metallers NIGHTWISH on their North American tour.

ADLER: New Single

ADLER: New Single 'Good To Be Bad' Featuring JOHN 5 Available On iTunes

Video footage of ROB ZOMBIE/ex-MARILYN MANSON guitarist John 5 laying down a guest guitar solo on the song "Good To Be Bad" from the forthcoming album from ADLER, the new band led by former GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler, can be seen below. The track is now available on iTunes.

Entitled "Back From The Dead", ADLER's full-length debut will be released in North America on November 26 via New Ocean Media. Recorded in Los Angeles with producer Jeff Pilson (FOREIGNER, DOKKEN) and mixed by Jay Ruston (ANTHRAX, STONE SOUR), the effort consists of 11 tracks, ranging from adrenaline-pumping rockers ("Back From The Dead", "Own Worst Enemy", "Another Version Of The Truth") to arena-rock anthems ("Good To Be Bad", "Blown Away") to powerful, heartfelt ballads ("Waterfall", "Just Don't Ask"). The album features an additional guest appearance by Adler's former GUNS N' ROSES bandmate Slash.

ADLER is comprised of Steven Adler, frontman Jacob Bunton (LYNAM, MARS ELECTRIC), guitarist Lonny Paul (ADLER'S APPETITE), and bassist Johnny Martin (CHELSEA SMILES).

"The process of making this record was incredible," states Bunton. "Our musical influences are all over the place and this record is a perfect reflection of everything that we love about rock 'n' roll."

"I'm so proud of this record," adds Adler. "This is the record I've been wanting to make for over 20 years and now I've finally found the band with the perfect chemistry to make it happen!"

"Back From The Dead" track listing:

01. Back From The Dead
02. Own Worst Enemy
03. Another Version Of The Truth
04. The One That You Hated
05. Good To Be Bad (featuring John 5)
06. Just Don't Ask (featuring Slash)
07. Blown Away
08. Waterfall
09. Habit
10. Your Diamonds
11. Dead Wrong

The album is now available for pre-order at this location.

The CD's first single, "The One That You Hated", is out now on iTunes and the accompanying video can be seen below.

In a recent interview with Bloody-Disgusting.com, Bunton stated about "The One That You Hated", "That was actually the first song that me and Lonny wrote together, and the last song that we recorded. How it came about was we were just sitting in Lonny's living room with a couple of acoustic guitars, and I had the music and the verses, I just didn't have the chorus, and once it got to the chorus, Lonny just started singing 'I'm the one that you hated,' and I was like, 'That's it, that's awesome!' So it came together really naturally and really quick. And the funny thing is, it's the first single, but it's not like it's the best song on the record or anything like that. Literally, Steven was about to go into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, and he said, 'You know, Slash has got his thing and Duff [McKagan] has got his thing, but nobody's heard anything from me for a long time. I would like my fans to know what I'm up to.' So, literally, we just pointed at a piece of paper with all of the songs that we had recorded on it, and went, 'Eeny meeny miny moe,' and that's the one that we picked. And we shot the video, and the cool thing about it is VH1 just added the video two weeks ago. So they've been playing it, which is very cool."

ADLER will make its live debut with KISS on the Kiss Kruise, which is setting sail October 31 - November 4, 2012 from Miami, Florida to Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas onboard the Norwegian Pearl..

DENIED To Release

DENIED To Release 'Let Them Burn' Next Year

DENIED, the Swedish metal band featuring vocalist Johan Fahlberg (JADED HEART) and bassist Fredrik Isaksson (formerly of THERION and GRAVE), will release its third album, "Let Them Burn", in early 2013 via Sliptrick Records. The CD was recorded with producer Fredrik Folkare (UNLEASHED) and was mastered at Dugout Productions.

DENIED was formed in Upplands Väsby, Stockholm, Sweden in 2003 by Andreas Carlsson. Devoted to heavy-yet-melodic metal, he wanted to expand his vision beyond a simple dream. The band recorded its first album, "Seven Times Your Sin", in 2005 and supported it with local gigs.

In September 2005, DENIED underwent its first lineup change when bassist Robert Stellmar and drummer Pete Dolls were recruited. The group's second album, "New Army For The Old Revolution", saw the light of day in late 2008.

In 2009, DENIED enlisted longtime friend Fahlberg as their new vocalist and in November of that same year, guitarist Chris Vowden joined the group. In May 2011 the band parted ways with Stellmar and recruited Isaksson.

DENIED has "earned a reputation as a great live act from their performances in various rock clubs in the Stockholm area," according to a press release." Through the years, DENIED has supported such acts as DREAM EVIL, SISTER SIN and ENTOMBED. Their ability to work the crowd and drive them into a frenzy has become a trademark for DENIED."
