North Carolina's first ever heavy metal band OVERLORDE will finally see a full length release Medieval Metal Too from Heaven And Hell Records on March 6th.

Overlorde was born in 1979 in Fayetteville, North Carolina, by 1985 they released the legendary Medieval Metal four-song demo that sold 10,000 copies worldwide. Metal Blade records then took notice and placed the band's song 'Keeper Of The Flame' on their Metal Massacre XIII compilation album that has sold over 40,000 copies worldwide. Overlorde then would slip into obscurity and lore. European interest in obscure cult metal particularly US bands would revive much interest in the band. For many years the way fans could obtain the recordings were the poor quality downloads and Youtube.

Now after almost 30 years this material will finally be released on CD with never before released tracks all fully re-mastered by Jaime King at The Basement Studios in North Carolina. Cover design provide by TJ Designs who has done a fine job of bringing the classic demo's cover into 2012 Also history liner notes and photo gallery will be included as has come to be expected of the Lost Relics Series.

Italian death metal act HUMANGLED have recently completed recording a four-song follow up to their 2010 full-length, Fractal. Entitled Odd Ethics, the EP is set to be released in early/mid 2012 through Abyss Records. Odd Ethics was tracked at Italy's Mel-1 Studios. Sound production was handled by Dan Swanö (ex-EDGE OF SANITY, BLOODBATH, NIGHTINGALE) at Unisound Studios. Cover art for Odd Ethics was designed by artist Marko Somero.

Renowned producer Michael Wagener, who was a founder of ACCEPT and worked with METALLICA, OZZY OSBOURNE, SKID ROW, DOKKEN, RAVEN, STRYPER, POISON, MEGADETH, ALICE COOPER, HELLOWEEN and TESTAMENT, among others, will work on the new album of the Brazilian band DARK AVENGER, entitled Tales of Avalon: The Lament.

Wagener, who is doing the mixing and mastering said: "I feel that coming to market is a great album of pure heavy metal!"

Finnish hard rock metallers BLINDED RAIN, who have been on hiatus for the last two years, has announced their return and lineup change. Pekka Rinne will be replacing Leonard on drums for future releases and gigs.

The band are also planning on releasing new material later in the year.

Blinded Rain has released the video for the track ‘Sandcastle Star’ off the band's 2008 album Destination Unknown.

Editing cinematography and manuscript for the video were all completed by Jaakko Lepistö and Kaide.

12 years after the formation of one of Germany's most successful art rock bands the Freising quintet RPWL takes its first shot at a concept album. Beyond Man And Time is a musical journey through the world outside of Platon's cave. On March 13th in North America and on March 9th in Europe, the record will be released in a standard version as well as an exclusive bonus edition that includes an audio book. The record will also be presented live across Europe in April 2012.

In addition to the regular version of the album there will also be a bonus edition limited of 2,000 copies. This exclusive edition includes an additional audio book that connects the music even more closely to the philosophical approach, plus a topographic map of the new world that is to be explored. Also, RPWL listeners are to be given a special live experience: audiences will be introduced to the record on an extensive European tour in April 2012.

The material is the perfect start for the five musicians as they were translating it into music. They create musical themes for every single character on Beyond Man And Time: oriental percussion, expanded Moog-soli and an Indian sitar take care of a well placed, atmospheric and colorful adaptation. That is why the musical journey naturally culminates in a 16-minute-opus called 'The Fisherman', and ends on a calm and meditative note with 'The Noon'.

Chicago rockers BIBLE OF THE DEVIL have announced that their sixth full-length album entitled For The Love Of Thugs And Fools will be released May 8th via Cruz Del Sur music.

The band recorded the album at Phantom Manor studios in Chicago with engineer Mike Lust recordings.

According to a press release: “For The Love Of Thugs And Fools is viewed by the band as a document of the many characters they have encountered through the life of the band, whether it be in love, loss, friendship, or hatred. Having toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe since the band's inception in late 1999 and living in the volatile urban environment Chicago, where encounters with crime, violence, and 'street justice' are unavoidable, there has been much subject matter for the band to draw from. Embracing the philosophy that a bottle of whiskey and some loud guitar is often the best cure available for these challenges and ordeals, Bible Of The Devil have chosen to document their grievances in the form of one devastating Rock n' Roll platter."

Regina, Saskatchewan-based Canadian extreme progressive metallers INTO ETERNITY have recruited Amanda Kiernan of the Edmonton, Alberta-based metal band THE ORDER OF CHAOS as their new touring singer.

States Amanda: "This is a wonderful opportunity for me that I couldn't pass up. I look forward to this experience. However, THE ORDER OF CHAOS will remain my number one priority."

INTO ETERNITY vocalist Stu Block was recently recruited by power metal giants ICED EARTH, with whom he recorded the band's latest CD, "Dystopia".

INTO ETERNITY earlier in the month posted studio and rehearsal footage of their new song "Fukushima", written about the Fukushima Daiichi, Japan nuclear disaster (a series of equipment failures, nuclear meltdowns, and releases of radioactive materials at the Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant following the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami on March 11, 2011). As previously reported, Canadian label War On Music Records will issue several albums by INTO ETERNITY for the first time ever on vinyl. "Dead Or Dreaming" (2001), "Buried In Oblivion" (2004) and "Scattering Of The Ashes" (2006) will be made available, each as a limited LP release, starting in early spring 2012.

INTO ETERNITY's signature sound has often been described as a hybrid of latter-day DEATH and CONTROL DENIED, combined with the technical stylings of DREAM THEATER.

INTO ETERNITY last year released its first new material since 2008 in the form of a new song called "Sandstorm". The track, which is available on iTunes and Bandcamp, features guest death vocals by Rob Doherty and marks the recording debut of Newbury, who was previously known in the western Canadian metal scene as a member of Edmonton, Alberta-based group DEATH TOLL RISING.

"Sandstorm" was written the day the USA took out Osama Bin Laden, and is inspired by the events that transpired.

Vocalist Neil Turbin (DEATHRIDERS, ANTHRAX), drummer/vocalist Jeff Martin (RACER X, MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP, BADLANDS, DOKKEN, PAUL GILBERT, GEORGE LYNCH) and bassist Rev Jones (STEELHEART, MOUNTAIN, MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP, FUEL, BLACK SYMPHONY) are among the musicians who took part in the NAMM Metal Jam 2012 on January 18 at Chain Reaction in Anaheim, California. According to a press release, these musicians ripped "through hits by JUDAS PRIEST, DEEP PURPLE, THIN LIZZY, RAINBOW, ACCEPT, MOTÖRHEAD, WHITESNAKE and much more!" They also paid tribute to Gary Moore and the one and only Ronnie James Dio.

New York hardcore/metal veterans BIOHAZARD have pulled the plug on their previously announced plans to give away their new album, "Reborn In Defiance", in its entirety "for free" to all fans in the United States starting January 20.

In what what was being billed as "the first such promotion ever launched," the record was supposed be made available for free download off Revolver magazine's web site, RevolverMag.com, as well as through the technology offered by Repudo.com. Fans were being encouraged to check into BIOHAZARD "Containment Zones" (record stores, venues, and more) across the United States using the Repudo app on their smart phones and download the new record directly to their phones or send it to their email inbox.

A new message on BIOHAZARD's official Facebook page reads as follows:

"We regret to inform you all that due to circumstances beyond our control, we will not be able to offer our new record, 'Reborn In Defiance', in the U.S. at this time. We love all of you who have continued to support us through the years and can't wait to share with you a record that we are extremely proud of. "It's literally almost impossible to rely on the music industry to pay your bills," Billy Graziadeitold Noisecreep. "It's such a crap shoot to begin with. These days it's even harder. So for me, I don't rely on BIOHAZARD to pay my bills, so when we had a chance to go on tour and to reunite... it was on a personal level, it was amazing. Turunen's new project, HARUS, last month released a CD/DVD/Blu-ray, entitled "In Concert - Live At Sibelius Hall".

The HARUS live album/DVD was made available worldwide by earMUSIC in collaboration with Edel's classic music division Berlin Classics. This joint venture from two music labels apparently far away from each other would probably sound bizarre at first sight (a label operating in alternative and metal music with one representing traditional classical music artists). The reason lies beneath the many sides of Tarja Turunen's music.

The first output of HARUS features traditional and emotional music from Finland presented together with more international repertoire.

Tarja's sophomore solo album, "What Lies Beneath", sold around 1,300 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 24 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

"What Lies Beneath" was released in North America on September 14, 2010 via The End Records.

Demo versions of four songs that were written during the sessions for CHIMAIRA's latest album, "The Age Of Hell", are available for streaming below. Two of the tracks ("Clockwork" and "Scum Of The Earth") were subsequently re-recorded for the final CD while the last two did not make the cut and had been unreleased until now.

CHIMAIRA's "Chimaira Christmas" concert on December 30, 2011 at the House Of Blues in Cleveland, Ohio marked the band's final performance with guitarists Matt DeVries and Rob Arnold.

CHIMAIRA last month released a free digital EP, "The Age Of Remix Hell", via Multiupload.com. The effort, as the title suggests, contains remixed versions of songs from "The Age Of Hell".

"The Age Of Hell" sold more than 7,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 54 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band's previous CD, "The Infection", opened with 15,000 units back in April 2009 to land at No. 30. This figure was roughly in line with the first-week tally registered by CHIMAIRA's 2007 album, "Resurrection", which shifted 16,000 copies to enter the chart at No. 42.

"The Age Of Hell" was released in the U.S. on August 16, 2011 via eOne Music; in Germany on August 26; and in the United Kingdom, Australia and the rest of Europe on August 29 through Long Branch Records.
