"Dawn Of Armageddon", the new video from EVIL UNITED — the Austin/San Antonio, Texas-based band featuring Jason McMaster (WATCHTOWER, DANGEROUS TOYS, BROKEN TEETH) on vocals, a double guitar assault of T.C. Connally (PB/DC, CULT TO FOLLOW) and John Valenzuela (PB/DC, URIAL) as well as the brutal rhythm section of Don Van Stavern (RIOT, S.A. SLAYER) on bass and "Shakes" West (MURDERDOLLS, NEUROTICA, SEBASTIAN BACH) on drums — can be seen below. The song comes off the group's self-titled debut album, which was released on September 13 via MVD Entertainment Group.

Commented Connally: "When we started to scout locations for the 'Dawn Of Armageddon' video shoot, we really didn't have to go far from our Texas home base. Texas has had record droughts and hellish high temperatures this year and at times it really felt like the dawn of armageddon.

"Most of the video was shot at a dried up lake bed during the 110-degree drought. We also drove out to Bastrop, Texas and got some footage of the damaged caused by the Bastrop fires.

"The Bastop Texas fire was a major wildfire that struck Bastrop county Texas on September 2011 and was extinguished in October 2011. Thousands of homes were destroyed making it the most destructive single wildfire in Texas history.

"We feel the video captures a glimpse of the destruction most of the world is seeing in 2011 but through the eyes of our home state of Texas."

"Trick Of The Wrist", the new video from former HANOI ROCKS singer Michael Monroe, can be seen below. The song comes off the Michael's latest album, "Sensory Overdrive", which was released in the U.S. and Canada on August 23 via Spinefarm/Universal. The CD, which was released in Europe on March 14 via Universal Music subsidiary Spinefarm Records, features guest appearances by MOTÖRHEAD's Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister and three-time Grammy-winning country/folk singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams.

MAEL MÓRDHA, the world's only Gaelic doom metal, band has arrived at Foel Studios in Wales to begin recording the band’s fourth album. The band will work with producer Chris Fielding on seven new tracks which continue the concept and themes of the band’s previous work.

Guitarist Gerry Clince states: “We are looking forward to recording at a location like Foel. It’s very secluded, miles from anywhere and that means we’ll be completely free from distractions and can live and breathe this album 24/7 for the two weeks we are here. We are excited about working with Chris too. He has some great ideas about how to do this one differently and we can’t wait to get started.”

The album name along with other details will be revealed in the coming months. Producer, Chris Fielding, has previously worked with acts including ELECTRIC WIZARD, MOSS, PRIMORDIAL and DARKEST ERA.

Mael Mordha will appear at Springdoom Depression in Vienna, Austria on April 7th, and the Ragnarök Festival at Lichtenfels, Germany on April 14th.

Italian metallers FOMENTO have set To Persevere Is Diabolical as the title of their new full-length album, due in early 2012 via Coroner Records.

Production duties were once again handled by frontman Marco Krasinski and the album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Matteo Gabbianelli at Kutso Noise Home Studio in Rome, Italy.

To Persevere Is Diabolical features 11 new tracks and as frontman Marco Krasinski said: "Each song takes you by surprise and slams you in the balls with punishing riffs and brutal drum assaults".

UK extreme metallers MITHRAS are set to release their new, highly anticipated Time Never Lasts EP, through Galactic Records.

A precursor to a new studio album forthcoming in 2012, Time Never Lasts shows the indefatigable duo of Leon Macey and Rayner Coss going from strength to strength, taking the template laid out by their two critically acclaimed albums for Candlelight Records - 2007's Behind the Shadows Lie Madness and 2003's Worlds Beyond the Veil - to their most extreme ends: the light-speed battery more punishing, the melodies more triumphant, the atmosphere more otherworldly.

An edited version of the song "The Black Mare" from Swedish power metallers DRAGONLAND can be streamed using the SoundCloud player below. The track comes off the band's new album, "Under The Grey Banner", which will be released on November 18 via AFM Records. The third part of the "Dragonland Chronicles" trilogy features musical actor Fred Johanson in the role of the antagonist, with all three singers from AMARANTHE — Elize Ryd, Jake E and Andy Solveström — also making appearances.

NECRONOMICON, one of Germany’s longest running thrash metal bands, has inked a new deal with Massacre Records. The band have been busy writing new songs for the anticipated new album, Invictus which will be produced at the Arsen Music Studios in Breisach and Berlin. Sound guru Achim Köhler (PRIMAL FEAR, BRAINSTORM) will once again handle the mix and mastering.

The guest musicians are none other than Randy Black (ex-ANNIHILATOR) and Ben Krahl (FINAL KINGS).

Austrian black/thrash metallers IRDORATH have signed with Massacre Records.

The history of the band started in 2005, when Markus (guitar) and three other musicians formed the group. The first demo, Erwachen, and the first album, Götterdämmerung, were recorded and the first gigs were played.

During the work on the second album some lineup changes happened. Since then Thomas is playing the drums and Esche is playing the rhythm guitar.

The second album, Dekonstrukteur Des Fleisches, was recorded at the Soundtempel - Studio and was produced by Stefan Traunmüller. After finishing the record the singer and the bassist left the band.

Markus took over the singing part in addition to the lead guitar and Mario joined the band as the new bassist. Now the lineup is complete again and stronger than ever.

Dekonstrunkteur Des Fleisches is going to be released in late January, 2012.

Legendary BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi revealed to VH1 Classic Rock Nights that SABBATH was appraoched years ago with the idea of using the band's catalog to create a musical. It is a concept that has proven to be quite successful in recent years, with QUEEN's "We Will Rock You" and ABBA's "Mamma Mia" being two of the most notable examples.

"I remember years ago when we were approached to do a BLACK SABBATH [musical], like 'We Will Rock You', many years ago," Iommi said. "The chap who'd done THE WHO, I forgot his name now, who'd done 'Tommy', the producer, he wanted to do something with us many years ago. We never did, because we thought, 'Oh, that's a weird idea.' Of course now, he was way ahead of his time."

So would the guys ever agree to it today? "Well, I don't know," Tony said. "Maybe. We might be jumping on the bandwagon then at that point."

Iommi's memoir, "Iron Man: My Journey Through Heaven And Hell With Black Sabbath", was released in the United States on November 1 in hardback by Perseus Books/DeCapo Press.

Regina, Saskatchewan-based Canadian extreme progressive metallers INTO ETERNITY have issued the following update:

"As everybody already knows, our longtime singer Stu Block has joined ICED EARTH. We are very excited for him and he is killing it on tour in Europe right now! In the meantime, we are still getting gig offers from promoters. This means, we are looking for a touring-ONLY singer. It will not be an easy task to get someone like Stu, so it should be interesting to see who might be able to fill in!

"To audition, we're going to need to see a video of you singing an INTO ETERNITY song. In addition, we'd like to hear you sing our new single, 'Sandstorm'. Justin can email you the (instrumental) version of 'Sandstorm' to record vocals over."

Originally slated for a fall 2011 release, vocalist Rob Rock (DRIVER, IMPELLITTERI) has checked in to confirm that he and guitarist /producer Roy Z are currently writing, producing, and recording the new Driver 2 album. They are targeting an early 2012 release Following in the footsteps of the 2009 Driver album, Sons of Thunder CD, the band is currently recording tracks in Los Angeles. The new CD will be released worldwide on Metal Heaven, King Records, and RockZilla labels.

According to the Associated Press, Lou Reed and METALLICA have tapped award-winning director Darren Aronofsky to helm a music video for their collaborative track "Iced Honey". Scenes for the clip will be shot in the San Francisco Bay Area and will be available for viewing later this month. Also involved with the project as director of photography will be Aronofsky's cameraman, Matthew Libatique, who has worked on all of Aronofsky's feature releases — which include such Oscar-nominated films as "Black Swan" and "The Wrestler" — and has been a cinematographer for several Spike Lee films.

METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich said in a statement Thursday that working with Reed and Aronofsky is "living the dream."

He added, "As if making a record with Lou Reed is not enough, now I get to make a video with Darren Aronofsky, who has been among my very favorite filmmakers since his first movie, 'Pi'." Reed, meanwhile, said he hoped that the video would become "his next 'Black Swan'."

"Iced Honey" is featured on METALLICA's collaborative album with Lou Reed, titled "Lulu", which is likely to sell between 12,000 and 15,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to industry web site Hits Daily Double. The estimate was based on one-day sales reports compiled after the record arrived in stores on November 1 via Warner Bros. Records (one day earlier in the rest of the world through Universal Music). By contrast, METALLICA's last studio effort, 2008's "Death Magnetic", sold 490,000 copies in just a three-day sales window after it came out on a Friday, with sales tracked through the following Sunday.

SLIPKNOT frontman Corey Taylor says that work on STONE SOUR's follow-up to 2010's Audio Secrecy has begun. "Right now we're just working on demos...and a pretty grandiose idea that I've been kind of chewing on for a long time," Taylor tells Billboard.com. "On a musical scale, artistically, visually, we're going to swing for the fences with this one. If we can pull it off, it would be really cool and...put a lot of people in their place. I'm really excited to get working on it."

Taylor expects to hit the studio with Stone Sour in 2012, between Slipknot's run on February's Soundwave Festival in Australia and a summer tour of North America that's slated to kick off in mid-June. "We've got a lot of great ideas already," Taylor reports. "We've got some people we're looking to work with. Once we have more information on it, we'll let everybody know."
