We`re getting ready to enter the studio to record a new – yet untitled – album. Music´s been described as a “full-fledged return to that classic RH sound” which put the band on the map in the first place, all the way back in 1991. Album´s expected to be released in November/December 2011 through Marquee/Avalon (Japan and SE Asia) and Frontiers Records (rest of the world). The line-up for recordings will be just as on our latest tour: André Andersen (keyboards), DC Cooper (vocals), Allan Sorensen (drums), Andreas Passmark (bass) and Jonas Larsen (guitar).

Vocalist Martin Schönherr has left Swedish death metal band DERANGED for "personal reasons".

"I've lost my motivation in DERANGED and after some 'issues' within the band, I felt it was time to quit. I will now focus 150% on my other bands SPLATTERED MERMAIDS and RAZORRAPE; both bands will enter the studio this year and record full-length albums!"

RAZORRAPE will enter the studio in October for the recording of its second CD, entitled "Revenge Of The Hermaphrodite Whores", tentatively due this winter through Rotten Roll Rex. Songtitles set to appear on the album include "Triple Cock Buttfuck", "Beautiful Girl Hunter", "Rabid Shemale Rape Squad", "Revenge Of The Hermaphrodite Whores", "Castrated By Children" and "Three On A Meathook".

"We have about 14 tracks for the album and it will beat all our previous recorded stuff, so stay tuned for some bulldozer gore/grind with a lot of sick influences," says Schönherr.

On November 1, Los Angeles hardcore/metal band TERROR will release the "Defining The Faith" DVD as part of the special deluxe reissue of the group's latest CD, "Keepers Of The Faith". Produced, edited, and authored by Carlo Oppermann and Ambitious.Films, "Defining The Faith" features a full live set that is composed of three different TERROR shows in three distinct settings: a small club, a big hall, and a massive European festival. These live performances were filmed at the following concerts: Mach1 festival in Montabaur (June 24), Cafe Central in Weinheim (June 28), and Essigfabrik in Köln (June 29), and the complete set-list for the DVD is below.

CHILDREN OF BODOM guitarist/vocalist Alexi Laiho joined DEFTONES on stage last night (Tuesday, August 30) at Circus in Helsinki, Finland to perform the song "Root". Fan-filmed video footage his appearance can be seen below.

DEFTONES recently began laying the groundwork for its seventh studio release, tentatively due next year. Vocalist Chino Moreno told Billboard magazine that all five members of the group were recording their own ideas already, but that DEFTONES music doesn't really emerge until the full band gets into a room together and starts jamming.

He explained, "We find that when we actually get together in a rehearsal spot where there's no distractions and we can work together cohesively as a band, that's really when we're writing songs."

BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION — the Anglo-American rock supergroup featuring the talents of bassist/vocalist Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, TRAPEZE, BLACK SABBATH), blues rock guitarist/vocalist Joe Bonamassa, drummer Jason Bonham (LED ZEPPELIN), and keyboardist Derek Sherinian (DREAM THEATER) — will release its first-ever concert DVD and Blu-ray, "Live Over Europe", on October 24.

IRON MAIDEN's Bruce Dickinson, JETHRO TULL frontman Ian Anderson and Justin Hayward of the MOODY BLUES will perform for the first time together under the name Canterbury Rocks At Christmas on Saturday, December 10th at the Canterbury Cathedral Nave in Kent, England in support of The Canterbury Gift, which raises funds for the ongoing renovation work on the cathedral.

According to Wikipedia, The Canterbury Cathedral Appeal was launched to protect and enhance Canterbury Cathedral's future as a religious, heritage and cultural centre. Every five years the cathedral carries out a major structural review. The last so-called Quinquennial made it very clear that a combination of centuries of weathering, pollution and constant use had taken its toll on the building and there were some serious problems at Canterbury Cathedral that needed urgent action.

Much of the cathedral's stonework is damaged and crumbling, the roofs are leaking and much of the stained glass is badly corroded. It is thought that if action is not taken now, the rate of decay and damage being inflicted on the building will increase dramatically with potentially disastrous results, including closure of large sections of the cathedral in order to guarantee the safety of the million plus worshippers, pilgrims and tourists who visit the cathedral every year.

Ian Anderson spoke of the importance of supporting Canterbury Cathedral recently. "If our generation and the future generations don't do it, then it will be lost," he said. "There is a real parallel regarding the preservation of our great buildings, and the greater sense of conserving our world. We need a huge change of thinking about the stewardship of our planet and all it contains, both natural and man-made. Canterbury Cathedral is a place for life today. But it is also a place for the future and, whether you are a Christian or not, it is a place which should remain forever close to our hearts."

In what is sure to be one of the most talked-about alliances of the year, New York king of avant-rock Lou Reed has teamed up with best-selling hard rock band METALLICA to record a brand-new album, entitled "Lulu", which will be released by Warner Bros. Records on November 1, 2011. The album was co-produced by Reed, METALLICA, Hal Willner — who has produced albums for Reed, Marianne Faithfull, and Laurie Anderson, among others — and Greg Fidelman. Fidelman also mixed the record.

The idea for these two giants of modern music to work together was born after the 25th anniversary Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame concerts in New York City in October 2009. METALLICA — singer/guitarist James Hetfield, drummer Lars Ulrich, guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo — played with Reed on VELVET UNDERGROUND classics "Sweet Jane" and "White Light/White Heat". "We knew from then that we were made for each other," Reed says.

After that triumphant performance, Reed suggested they all make a record together. At first they planned to record an album of Reedfraven's older material, what Ulrich describes as "some of Lou's lost jewels — songs that he felt he'd like to give a second spin, and we could do whatever it is we do to some of those songs." That idea "hung in the air for a couple of months." Then, a week or two before that session was to begin, "Lou called up and said, 'Listen, I have this other idea.'"

That idea was to record a series of songs Reed had written for American avant-garde theater director Robert Wilson and German theater group the Berliner Ensemble's production of the "Lulu Plays", which premiered in April at the Theatre am Schiffbauerdamm in Berlin, founded by Bertolt Brecht. The songs are inspired by German expressionist Frank Wedekind's early 20th century plays "Earth Spirit" and "Pandora's Box", and were a rewrite of Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven", which emerged as a graphic novel on Fantagraphics Press.

"We were very interested in working with Lou," says Hetfield. "I had these giant question marks: What's it going to be like? What's going to happen? So it was great when he sent us the lyrics for the 'Lulu' body of work. It was something we could sink our teeth into. I could take off my singer and lyricist hat and concentrate on the music part. These were very potent lyrics, with a soundscape behind them for atmosphere. Lars and I sat there with an acoustic and let this blank canvas take us where it needed to go. It was a great gift, to be asked to stamp 'TALLICA on it. And that's what we did."

"We had to bring 'Lulu' to life in a sophisticated way, using rock," Reed says. "And the hardest power rock you could come up with would have to be METALLICA. They live on that planet. We played together, and I knew it: dream come true. This is the best thing I ever did. And I did it with the best group I could possibly find. By definition, everybody involved was honest. This has come into the world pure. We pushed as far as we possibly could within the realms of reality."

"It's definitely not a METALLICA album, or a Lou Reed album," adds Hammett. "It's something else. It's a new animal, a hybrid."

ICED EARTH guitarist/founder John Schaffer and new vocalist Stu Block are currently in Europe, participating in a 10-day, multi-country promotional campaign for the forthcoming album, Dystopia, scheduled for release on October 18th.

After that, the band will begin a full headlining tour, which kicks off in Bochum, Germany (October 30th) and finishes in Istanbul, Turkey on December 12th. North American dates are currently under discussion, for early 2012.

BraveWords.com had a chance to speak with Schaffer about how Block's arrival will alter the live setlist:

"It will definitely open with (new title cut) ‘Dystopia’," offers Schaffer, "but there’s a couple of big surprises. The setlist is going to be very different from what we’ve done recently. We were trapped in nostalgia mode a little bit (with Matt Barlow's final dates). Now, we’re moving into some things in the catalog that we haven’t played since the Horrorshow tour. Looks like we’ll be playing ‘Damien’, ‘When The Night Falls’, probably do ‘Angels Holocaust’. Of course we’ll do the more recent classics, for sure: ‘Declaration Day’, ‘Iced Earth’, ‘Burning Times’, but we’re going to try to have a vast amount of songs to choose from and switch it up every night, not the same thing all the time. That’s something Stu and I have to decide. We’ve got about a week and a half of press and traveling, so we’ll have some time to sit down and talk about what he feels comfortable to do with the powerful range of his voice."

The next reissue of DEATH’s legendary catalog is 1993’s Individual Thought Patterns. The follow-up album to Human, Individual Thought Patterns has been remixed by Alan Douches and re-packaged to include a second and third bonus disc worth of previously unreleased demos and a full live set recorded in Germany during a 1993 European tour. Alice Cooper announced today that eminent guitar prodigy Orianthi will join his band, replacing departing guitarist Damon Johnson, for the next leg of his 2011 "No More Mr. Nice Guy" world tour starting September 22 in Auckland, New Zealand. Currently in progress, the tour hits ninety plus cities, covering five continents, including Europe and North America twice over.

At the young age of 26, Orianthi has already experienced what most aspiring musicians only dream of. She's opened for her hero, Steve Vai; backed Carrie Underwood; traded solos with Carlos Santana; shared the stage with the King of Pop (Michael Jackson) and accompanied Alice during his live performance of "School's Out" on the 2010 season finale of "American Idol".

"It's very difficult to find someone to match the talents of Damon Johnson," commented Cooper, "but not only did we find someone who is more than up to the challenge…she also looks WAY better."

Orianthi will join world-renowned guitarist Steve Hunter (toured and recorded with Cooper and Lou Reed) and Tommy Henriksen (co-wrote and played on Cooper's upcoming release); drummer Glen Sobel and Alice's longtime bassist Chuck Garric round out the band.

"I'm super-excited to go on tour with Alice," said Orianthi. "It's a huge honor to be able to get on stage and jam with an icon."

Orianthi will debut with the band for a performance on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" on Friday September 9 on NBC.

PAUL RODGERS & FRIENDS - Live At Montreux 1994 will be released on CD and DVD on September 12th in Europe via Eagle Rock, and September 13th in North America via Universal Music.

In 1993, Paul Rodgers released the acclaimed blues based album, Muddy Water Blues (now available on Eagle Records) with contributions from many special guest artists with a shared love for the blues.

In July 1994 the tour in support of this album rolled into Montreux.
