Norway's THEATRE OF TRAGEDY have checked in with the following update:

"As some of you have heard already Theatre of Tragedy are planning their first and last DVD with lots of live and background footage. This should be some kind of farewell gift to the fans.

Now things have happened that make it quite difficult to get through with it. The band thought the financial side was cleared (about 25,000 Euros) but it was withdrawn at the last moment. This was quite a shock for everyone and we thought about a solution how to still go on with the DVD.

After lots of talks the label will now give 10,000 Euros and the band members themselves will also give 10,000 Euro for the production of the DVD. This leaves us with a missing 5,000 Euros. Our idea now is to give you the possibility to make this DVD possible with your donations. If we don't reach 5,000 Euros within a week we will pay all your donations back of course but we sadly have to bury the idea of this DVD then.

If you donate 100 Euros or more we will put your name on the DVD cover and send you a signed DVD after the release.

Let's give this a try. It's our last chance for a final Theatre of Tragedy release!"

Norwegian metallers RED HARVEST have official broken up. A brief statement from the band reads: "We want to thank all the people that have supported us through the years. 1989 - 2010 R.I.P."

According to the band's bio, "when pressed to describe themselves, the members will come up with labels like Apocalyptic Industrial Paranoia Metal, but like most truly great music, the sonic assault of Red Harvest defies all labeling."

RUID LORD's debut album, Hymns For The Wicked, contains eight tracks of raw, horrid filth scheduled to be released in late October via Horror Pain Gore Death Productions and features artwork by Putrid.

Hailing from Southern Florida, Druid Lord unleash punishing, pure old school horror-based death/doom metal.

Former CHROME DIVISION/THE CARBURETORS singer EDDIE GUZ is stepping out on his own and is now releasing his first solo album, I'm Not Done!

According to a press release, the album features "ten tracks of hard and catchy rock n’roll anthems that will surely get some serious parties going around the world."

Guz is also starring in his first motion picture, NOKAS, a movie about the biggest bank robbery in Norwegian history, set to be released to the silver screen this October.

On August 30th, LONG DISTANCE CALLING will start the recordings of their third album at the Horus Studios in Hannover, Germany, where bands such as CELTIC FROST, DONOTS, KREATOR, ELOY, H.I.M., PARADISE LOST, THE ROLLING STONES and many more recorded some of their classic albums.

The successor of 2009's Avoid The Light, title to be confirmed, will be released via Superball Music / EMI in 2011.

In October, Long Distance Calling are playing shows with ANATHEMA in Germany, Netherlands and Belgium as well as shows in December in Switzerland. More dates to be confirmed soon.

Swedish progressive death metal band DESCEND have issued the following update from vocalist Nima Farhadian L:

"Everything but vocals are done. So it's down to just me, the one and only, to seal this album. Descend debut album - Through The Eyes Of The Burdened.

As told, above, the recording process is over for everyone but me, but I'll give you a glimpse of what it was like, for the other guys, being there (check out the video footage below).

HADES, who recently returned from the Bang Your Head!!! festival, have posted videos from their Wacken Open Air festival performance in Germany 10 years earlier.

The first clip is from the opening song, 'Ground Zero NYC', from the Metal Blade CD The Downside, released in 2000, well before 9/11. The second clip is the song that has ended almost every Hades show for the last 20 years, 'Nightstalker'.

Hades' lineup at the time consisted of vocalist Alan Tecchio, guitarists Dan Lorenzo and Ed Fuhrman, bassist Jimmy Schulman and producer Tim Gilles on drums.

Frontiers Records has announced the release of ASIA's brand new live CD / DVD, Spirit Of The Night – Live in Cambridge 2009, on October 15th. A proper North American release will follow in early 2011.

This Live CD / DVD captures Asia in their original line-up, featuring John Wetton on vocals, Steve Howe on guitar, Geoffrey Downes on keyboards and Carl Palmer on drums, performing to an enthusiastic crowd. The masters come from the band’s own archive and this is a show they have personally selected to be filmed and released. It’s a raw and honest view of the musicians and the perspiration on their brows, as they play to a receptive audience. It is truly a compelling viewing and a “must have” for all Asia fans.

The DVD shows the band playing tightly together in harmony with each other and the audience in an energetic and energizing rock concert. Having just released their epic "The Seventh Date of Blashyrkh" DVD, which shows the band live in Wacken 2007, mighty black metal icons IMMORTAL strike back with the first official music video from their comeback album, "All Shall Fall". German metal queen Doro Pesch is putting the finishing touches on her biggest project to date — the 2DVD/CD set "25 Years In Rock", featuring the entire 25-year anniversary concert, including guest performances in front of about 10,000 enthusiastic fans in Düsseldorf, Germany as well as a China special, outtakes from Doro's 2500th concert and a whole lot more.

HALFORD, the band fronted by JUDAS PRIEST frontman Rob Halford, will release its new album, "Halford IV - Made Of Metal", on September 27 (Europe), September 28 (North America) and October 13 (Japan).

HALFORD's new NASCAR-themed, animated-music video, "Made Of Metal", created by London-based animator Dean Wright, will debut on September 13. A 54-second teaser clip for the animated video can be seen below. Also available is performance footage of "Made Of Metal", filmed on July 24, 2010 at the Heavy MTL festival at Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Greek melodic metallers FIREWIND, who feature in their ranks current OZZY OSBOURNE guitarist Gus G., will release their new album, "Days Of Defiance", on October 26 (one day earlier internationally) via Century Media Records. The CD's striking cover artwork was designed by the band's longtime partner in all design matters, Gustavo Sazes, and can be viewed below.

Commented Gus: "I'm very excited and cannot wait for our fans to listen to our new album! We feel we've captured great performances and took our songwriting to the next level on this one. There's tons of cool guitar on there and I believe Bob [Katsionis] has finally managed to reach warp-speed with his keyboard solos! The "World On Fire" single was made available for purchase on digital platforms starting on August 17.

Commented Gus G.: "Usually when we write an album we let the music come to us and go with the flow. Maybe that's why our albums have variety and you can hear everything from super-heavy songs to speed-metal shredding to rock anthems and ballads. 'Days Of Defiance' wasn't much different in the making, but this time we recorded almost all of it in our home studios, which allowed us to be more relaxed. That's why I feel the new album features the best performances by all of us. One of our main goals, though, was to get a bit more of an 'unpolished' sound and be more raw. I think we achieved it and that gives an extra heaviness to the overall sound."

The Pulse of Radio reports that Slash is set to release a 3D version of the music video for his song "By The Sword", according to Spinner.com. The clip was first released several months ago in a regular flat format and has now been converted to 3D. Slash told Spinner.com, "We're applying 3-D to it after the fact. It's actually the perfect video for it because it's got a lot of depth shots and shots where everything stops, freezes and stuff is moving around it, so the 3D of that will look cool."

The track, which features WOLFMOTHER frontman Andrew Stockdale on vocals, is taken from the ex-GUNS N' ROSES guitarist's self-titled debut album.
