ONE MACHINE Featuring Ex-TESTAMENT, MERCENARY, Ex-MNEMIC Members: 'Distortion' Lyric Video
The Mike Sloat-directed lyric video for "The Distortion Of Lies And The Overdriven Truth", the title track of the debut album from ONE MACHINE, the brainchild of acclaimed guitarist/songwriter Steve Smyth (TESTAMENT, NEVERMORE, FORBIDDEN, DRAGONLORD, VICIOUS RUMORS), can be seen below.
"The Distortion Of Lies And The Overdriven Truth" will be released on February 18 via Scarlet Records. The CD was recorded and produced by Steve Smyth and was mixed by Roy Z (JUDAS PRIEST, BRUCE DICKINSON, HALFORD). It was mastered by Alan Douches (3 INCHES OF BLOOD, FIREWIND, SEPULTURA) at West West Side Music, with artwork created by Niklas Sundin from Cabin Fever Media (DARK TRANQUILLITY, ARCH ENEMY), complemented with photography from Anthony Dubois (MESHUGGAH, MNEMIC).
ONE MACHINE is an international metal band with classic and modern influences, featuring members carefully selected by Smyth: Mikkel Sandager (MERCENARY) on vocals, Jamie Hunt (BIOMECHANICAL) sharing guitar duties, rounded out by a powerhouse rhythm section with Tomas "O'Beast" Koefoed (MNEMIC) on bass guitar and Michele Sanna on drums (although former drummer Raphael Saini of Italian progressive metallers CHAOSWAVE played on the album).
Smyth had often given thought to leading his own band throughout his distinguished career as a member of bands including TESTAMENT, NEVERMORE and FORBIDDEN, among others. He had written a number of songs, but the challenge of finding the right members to bring them to life remained. He found a more than capable shredding second guitarist in Jamie Hunt, and the two began collaborating on the material Smyth had.
"Jamie's playing complements mine extremely well, and we hit it off perfectly when we got together to work on the songs," says Smyth. A vocalist was found in the form of original MERCENARY singer Mikkel Sandager. He fit the kind of singer Smyth was looking for, with his versatile ability to sing in different ways, and his readiness to be pushed into new musical territories.
"When our former bands toured together, I got to witness night after night, exactly what Mikkel could do; deliver a solid performance with an incredible range, as well as multiple characters in his voice," says Steve. "He's perfect for this band!"
Smyth, Hunt and Sandager then set about refining and shaping Smyth's original material.
In 2012, Koefoed came on board, adding his distinctive sound to the tracks.
"Tomas is without a doubt one of the most solid bassists I've encountered in some time," says Smyth. "He literally added an entirely new dimension to these songs that would not have been possible to be achieved without him."

DARKANE: 'Mechanically Divine' Video Released
"Mechanically Divine", the new Sinemax Produktion-directed video from Swedish thrashers DARKANE, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's latest album, "The Sinister Supremacy", which was released in June 2013 via Massacre and Prosthetic.
"The Sinister Supremacy" track listing:
01. Sounds Of Pre-Existence02. The Sinister Supremacy03. Mechanically Divine04. Ostracized05. The Decline06. Insurrection Is Imminent07. In The Absence Of Pain 08. Humanity Defined09. Hate Repentance State10. Collapse Of Illusions 11. By Darkness Designed12. Existence Is Just A State Of Mind
Regarding the album's title, the band said: "'The Sinister Supremacy' is a metaphor for the evil that controls us. It's the dark part of our minds and it’s inside us all. It tells us it's OK to do bad things, to hurt other people, and hurt ourselves. It guides us into making choices based on pure selfishness, and it thrives on complete chaos.
"The cover art by Carlos Holmberg is a Rorschach test as seen by an individual who has completely succumbed to the sinister supremacy."
Vocalist Jens Broman left DARKANE in August 2011 due to "personal issues." He explained in a statement, "At the moment my life is in a phase where I'm unable to find inspiration for new adventures with DARKANE and therefore it's best for me to pass on the mic."
Mackrory sang on DARKANE's debut album, "Rusted Angel" (1999), and made a guest appearance on the song "Chaos vs. Order" on the band's 2002 effort "Expanding Senses".

OBSCURA Guitarist CHRISTIAN MUENZNER Working On Second Solo Album
Guitarist Christian Muenzner (OBSCURA, SPAWN OF POSSESSION, PARADOX, ex-NECROPHAGIST) is working on his second all-instrumental solo album, following his 2011 debut CD, "Timewarp". The new effort will be entitled "Beyond The Wall Of Sleep" and will feature the OBSCURA rhythm section of Hannes Grossmann on drums and Linus Klausenitzer on bass, as well as keyboard virtuoso Jimmy Pitts (PITTS/MINNEMANN, SPASTIC INK, THE FRACTURED DIMENSION). Estimated release date is around April/May.
"Beyond The Wall Of Sleep" will contain 11 high-intensity instrumental tracks, and, like "Timewarp", will be mixing different genres, such as neoclassical, thrash metal, progressive metal, fusion, '80s heavy/speed metal and even elements of death and black metal. The album theme will revolve around old mystery stories and supernatural themes, which will also be reflected in the album's artwork, created, once again, by Anestis Goudas. Some of the songtitles include "Shadow Over Innsmouth", "Evil Spell (The Book Of Belial)", "The Pit And The Pendulum", "Demon's Gate", "The Witch Of Endor" and "The Crawling Chaos".
Comments Muenzner: "The majority of the album is recorded by now. We're just working on a few guitar overdubs and additional keyboard arrangements, and then the whole thing is ready to be mixed.
"The songwriting took place between October 2012 and May 2013.
"I have been working on the album on and off for most of the last year, whenever touring activties and my busy teaching schedule allowed it. It is also a very important step and personal statement in my career, as about two years ago I was diagnosed with focal dystonia and had to face the possibilty of never being able to play again. Even though I'm still dealing with the condition on a daily basis, I have been able to improve a lot with the help of some great people, without whom this album would never have been possible. It took some time, but I am convinced that this is the best and most intense playing I have recorded up to date.
"Compared to my first album, there is a lot more focus on riffing this time, but also the neoclassical elements and '80s Shrapnel influences will be more apparent, and it contains some of the best melodies I wrote so far. I think the music is a little bit more straight to the point and in your face, but the album is once again going to include an eight-minute prog epic. In addition, Jimmy, Hannes and Linus have all delivered mindblowing performances. I am very lucky to be able to work with such outstanding musicians.
"This instrumental solo stuff is what I enjoy working on most recently, as it allows me the most creative freedom. I hope that this time I will also get the chance to tour and present the music of both albums in a live format." | 0

AHOLA To Release 'Tug Of War' In March
AHOLA, the new "vital rock act" launched by Jarkko Ahola of the Finnish metal groups TERÄSBETONI and NORTHERN KINGS, will release its sophomore album, "Tug Of War", on March 21 via Playground Music.
"Our first recording went well and we raised the bar high then, so there was some work to be done to make 'Tug Of War' even better, but with a good production and good songs we managed to record every rocker's and metalhead's wet dream, and a music lover's must-buy," says Ahola.
A track from the CD, "Road Of Creation", can be streamed in the YouTube clip below.
AHOLA's debut album, "Stoneface", entered the official chart in Finland at position No. 41. Released on April 25, 2012, the CD was recorded at Headline Studio in Tampere. AHOLA in August 2011 announced the addition of guitarist Antti Karhumaa to the group's ranks.
According to a press release, AHOLA "has a suitable mix of past and present — which is always an essential part of rock music. The band's musical core consists of hit tunes, feeling and of course the skill to write and play true and powerful rock music, wherein the authenticity and emotion are relevant, leaving the vain posing to others."
Commented Ahola: "AHOLA is something I've been working on for a long time.
"From the beginning I've written rock songs in English, but since being a musician, you find yourself doing something you did never expect like singing and playing in a huge act called TERÄSBETONI or participating a cool project called NORTHERN KINGS. I guess that's part of the fascination!
"Anyway, still riff-based rock being the heart of my musical world, I wanted to add some spice to the soup and do something that I wasn't so familiar with: super tightness, speed… a flavor of punk rock, you might say."
He continued, "The way I want to see AHOLA's music is: songs are, I dare say, approachable with catchy choruses but when giving the songs a deeper thought, loaded with layers you can dig into. You can hear echoes from classic rock of the '70s, alternative rock and metal of the '90s and last decade, pop music in general, that punk rock I mentioned and… well, listen to yourselves."
AHOLA is:

CONQUERING DYSTOPIA Featuring NEVERMORE, CANNIBAL CORPSE Members: Debut Album Being Mixed
CONQUERING DYSTOPIA, the new project featuring former NEVERMORE guitarist Jeff Loomis and Portland, Oregon studio musician Keith Merrow, is mixing its debut album at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida with Mark Lewis (ARSIS, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, WHITECHAPEL, DEVILDRIVER, DEICIDE, SIX FEET UNDER). A spring release is expected.
The recording lineup for CONQUERING DYSTOPIA's first CD is completed by Alex Webster (CANNIBAL CORPSE) on bass and Alex Rudinger (THE FACELESS) on drums.
Says CONQUERING DYSTOPIA: "We feel that we have a very cool and unique band lineup, which will make for a memorable album for the listener."
Loomis previously contributed a guest guitar solo to Keith's second full-length instrumental album, "Awaken The Stone King", which came out in January 2011.
According to his official bio, Merrow's extreme style of guitar playing is a unique blend of traditional metal with a dash of obscurity. In May 2009, he released a self-produced EP titled "Lonestar Transcend". The six-song instrumental effort was a compilation of songs that were first heard on Merrow's YouTube page, where he posted play-through videos of the songs. Just six months later, in November 2009 came "The Arrival", which marked Merrow's first album that he wrote from start to finish.
Loomis and drummer Van Williams announced their departure from NEVERMORE in April 2011 due to personal differences with singer Warrel Dane and bassist Jim Sheppard. Their replacements have not yet been announced.
The Age Of Metal spoke with Loomis and Merrow prior to CONQUERING DYSTOPIA's debut performance at this year's NAMM show in Anaheim, California. Check out the chat below.

Pressed in a double gatefold format, this special reissue showcases three sides of groundbreaking music on white marbled clear wax with side 4 being an exclusive etching. The packaging also includes: (1) 2 bonus tracks originally only available on the CD re-release from 1990, (2) 2 double-sided 12" lyric/picture panels, and (3) a collectible double-sided 24x36 poster.
Limited to 500 copies worldwide, this GODFLESH 2LP will disappear fast!

GODFLESH released its first new recording in over 12 years through Decibel magazine's Flexi Series. A cover of the track "F.O.D. (Fuck of Death)" by legendary death thrashers SLAUGHTER (Canada) was included in the subscriber version of the magazine's November 2013 issue.
In an interview with the French radio station Le 106, GODFLESH's Justin K. Broadrick stated about the band's forthcoming album — which is tentatively titled "A World Lit Only By Fire" and due in May— "It will be [musically] similar to the first two or three [GODFLESH albums]. I just think, like we're playing these shows, we feel very pure about we're doing and honoring the initial intentions with what we originally set out to do. Which, I think, like most bands and musicians and all the rest of it, by the time you get on to your fourth album, it's somewhat of a dilution going on to what you initially tried to achieve. It will definitely sound aggressive and it probably won't sound like any of the other records we've made, but it will have the minimalism of the first few records."
Added GODFLESH bassist G.C. Green: "It won't sound like the first two record; it will be more the spirit… When you make records over the years, you change as people, you change as musicians, you progress, you develop and you take other styles on, but I think, having had a break from it and come back to it, it seems that we've gone straight back into what the essence of it was originally, and that's why it feels good."
Continued Justin: "It's getting straight back to the core of what this is all about. And I think having a break from it has probably even more inspired… It's like refocusing and obviously, we're somewhat older and wiser. It's gonna be a really interesting record. It's extremely minimal and very, very brutal — a fairly unforgiving record, really, I think." | 0

The last three albums from BOLT THROWER — "Mercenary" (1998), "Honour Valour Pride" (2001) and "Those Once Loyal" (2005) — were reissued on vinyl on October 24, 2011 via Metal Blade Records. All three albums were released as gatefold LPs in colored vinyl, limited to 1,000 units each.
BOLT THROWER indefinitely postponed plans to record a new studio album after the band realized that the new stuff it had written "just doesn't match up" to the group's last CD, "Those Once Loyal". "We have a lot of pride in our back catalogue, and we refuse to turn into one of the many bands (like the ones we grew up listening to) who end up releasing crap, and we're also not prepared to compromise by instead releasing an album of cover versions or a 'best-of' album," BOLT THROWER explained in a statement.
"Those Once Loyal" entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 76 — the group's highest-charting release in Germany so far. The follow-up to 2001's "Honour, Valour, Pride" was recorded at Andy Faulkner's Sable Rose studios and was the band's first album since the return of original vocalist Karl Willetts as a full-time member.

Video: MACHINE HEAD In The Studio Recording Cover Of IGNITE's 'Our Darkest Days'
As part of this year's Record Store Day on April 19, San Francisco Bay Area metallers MACHINE HEAD will release a 10-inch vinyl single, with the A-side containing the "demo" version of a new song, "Killers & Kings". The B-side will be a cover version of the track "Our Darkest Days" from one of MACHINE HEAD's favorite bands, IGNITE.
Video footage of MACHINE HEAD members Phil Demmel (guitar), Dave McClain (drums) and Jared MacEachern (bass) laying down backing vocals on the "Our Darkest Days" cover version can be seen below.
Says MACHINE HEAD guitarist/vocalist Robb Flynn: "I remember growing up in the thrash scene and always wanting to hear the demo version of songs. You searched them out. Thankfully, my buddy Jim was a big 'tape trader,' and through trading, we had both METALLICA demos, EXODUS demos, bootlegs of songs sometimes 'years' before they came out.
"I knew how to play every note of 'Pleasure Of The Flesh' by EXODUS easily two years before the record was out. I had SLAYER's 'Reign In Blood' three months before it came out. I remember it still had the hi-hat counts starting the songs!!
"My friends and I would debate the merits of each (the demo was always better, LOL!).
"It's so much cooler to hear it BEFORE the album is out!
"So we're gonna do that for you.
"I can't wait for you guys to hear this stuff. Then you can debate it, haha!"
MACHINE HEAD will enter the studio in February to begin recording its new album for a late summer release via the band's new label, Nuclear Blast Entertainment. Other tentative songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Beneath The Silt", "Ojos De La Muerte", "Sail Into The Black" and "Night Of The Long Knives".
Says Flynn: "The new stuff is turning out better than anyone expected.
"We had THE breakthrough with the song formerly known as 'Back From The Grave'.
"I'd been working with the string section that played on 'Locust', Quartet Rogue, as well as multi-instrumentalist / keyboardist Rhys Fulber, and to quote [METALLICA drummer] Lars Ulrich (who was actually quoting Robert Trujillo), 'We're on some NEXT-LEVEL shit!!!'
"With that one song getting finished, I could totally see where the whole record is going. It opened up before my eyes.
"Nothing short of exciting!!!"
Speaking to U.K.'s Metal Hammer magazine, Flynn stated about the band's new material: "It sounds like MACHINE HEAD! It's definitely moving forward, which I feel like we're probably always gonna do.
"We're not a band that ever looks back. We do our thing and try to take the life experiences that we have and the musicianship that we've evolved and try to use it. Obviously, we have our sound and we have the MACHINE HEAD patented harmonics, the downtuned riffs and I sing the way I sing.
"I think Bob Dylan said it best: 'You just find new ways to say the same thing.'"
Speaking about some of the specific tracks and the lyrical themes covered on the new album, Flynn said: "I've got some pretty cool lyrics ready. There's a song called 'Night Of The Long Knives', and it's pretty fucked! It's about the Manson murders, and the lyrics are really dark and vicious.
"We've found some new twists to give to the MACHINE HEAD sound and some new fire and excitement."
Asked what the band's main aims were when they started composing music for the new CD, Flynn said: "Well, it's nice to try and have a plan, but music has a way of unravelling over time! [Laughs] You've just got to roll with it.
"With [2007's] 'The Blackening', I'd love to say I had this grand vision of nine- and 10-minute songs, but the first four songs we wrote were the four shorter songs on the record. For months, there was no indication whatsoever that we'd have 10-minute songs. That stuff came later.
"Human nature wants to control and dictate where things will go, but you can't. It won't let you! The more you try, the more it goes, 'Fuck you.' It's going some other way!" Regarding whether the songwriting process comes more easily after more than two decades as a band, Flynn said: "I just try and do my thing. With this record in particular, I've tried to discipline myself more with routine, writing a little bit every day, but for months I was in a riff rut. Every riff I wrote fuckin' sucked! Then we took a two-week break and I was writing my Facebook journals about the 'Through The Ashes Of Empires' [MACHINE HEAD's 2003 album] story, and that cleared my head. At the end of those two weeks, the floodgates opened and all hell of riffs poured out. I was so stoked! This torrent of riffs, this molten hot lava, was at my fingertips. It's such a good feeling." Flynn also revealed that MACHINE HEAD has "definitely got some ideas" for the artwork and imagery for the band's new album, but added: "It's weird, though, because who the fuck even buys albums anymore?
"An album cover is a necessary thing but for so many people it's justa little one-and-a-half-inch square on an iPhone.
"We're going to have a lot of worldwide special editions, so for the people who are still into that stuff, we'll have some next-level shit. Especially with our new label, Nuclear Blast, they can do all of that stuff. They're not afraid to do all these crazy, over-the-top special-edition things and big two-foot metal cases and all that.
"I'm a super-nerd collector and that shit rules to me!"
MACHINE HEAD's most recent studio release, 2011's "Unto The Locust", entered The Billboard 200 chart at position No. 22 — putting them in the Top 25 for the first time in the band's history.
Founded in 2007 and officially kicked off in 2008 by METALLICA, Record Store Day normally takes place on the third Saturday of every April and brings together artists and independently owned record stores around the world to celebrate the art of music. Special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products are made exclusively for the day and sold in independent stores.

SABATON Plays Special Concert At Swedish Gym (Video)
On January 25, Swedish metallers SABATON played a special gig at the Må Bättre gym in Falun, Sweden. They performed live during a spinning class, while simultaneously participating in the workout themselves. "We made special mic holders in order to be able to position them on the spinning cycle," SABATON vocalist Joakim Brodén told the Dala-Demokraten newspaper prior to the event. "Everyone, apart from our drummer, Hannes [Van Dahl], will [actively participate in] the class."
Check out video footage of the performance below.
SABATON will release its new album, "Heroes", on May 16 via Nuclear Blast Records. The cover artwork for the CD was created by Péter Sallai.
"Heroes" is being recorded at The Abyss, the recording studio in Pärlby outside Ludvika, Sweden owned and operated by record producer and musician Peter Tägtgren (HYPOCRISY, PAIN).
SABATON played its first show with new drummer Hannes Van Dahl on November 16, 2013 at the Metal Hammer Paradise festival in Germany.
SABATON will return to the U.S. and Canada in April as direct support to American metallers ICED EARTH on their "Worldwide Plagues" North American tour. Opening each show on the six-week trek will be Dutch metallers REVAMP (featuring NIGHTWISH singer Floor Jansen).

Says Marco: "I've done quite a few visitations on select albums during my career. DELAIN and their albums are among the most frequent. If you listen to their stuff, you'll know why. Martijn and his group seem to have plenty to say, both musically and lyrically. Keep it up, mates!"

MARS RED SKY Signs With LISTENABLE RECORDS
France's MARS RED SKY has inked a deal with Listenable Records.
Considered one of the greats of the European stoner rock scene, MARS RED SKY has gained international recognition due to a unique sound, based on thick infectious grooves and melodic aerial guitar riffs. This is truly a one-of-a-kind experience, wrapped up by Julien Pras' ethereal vocals, Matgaz' powerful rhythms and Jimmy Kinast's pachydermic bass lines. Somewhere between doom metal and '70s psyche pop, MARS RED SKY intrigues and attracts the masses to celebrate this cosmic ritual of solar burning fuzz and reverberated atmospheres.
Driven by the huge success of their eponymous debut record, recorded in Spain's mystic Bardenas Desert and released in 2011, the band was invited to play on the largest European stages with KYUSS LIVES!, DINOSAUR JR. and SLEEP, as well as popular festivals like Eurockéennes de Belfort, Roadburn, London and Berlin Desertfests, Sziget Festival and SXSW (USA). All in all, MARS RED SKY has played in more than 20 countries.
With their incredibly heavy and hypnotic performances, MARS RED SKY has been considered one of the most thrilling live acts among the international stoner rock scene. In 2012, they paired up with French doom metal monsters YEAR OF NO LIGHT to release a three-track split record, which sold out in a blink of an eye.
The release of their "Be My Guide" EP in 2013 opened the path for an extensive tour across Europe, then across the Atlantic for gigs in Latin America. This is where the band recorded their new album, due out this spring on Listenable Records. A limited-edition seven-inch EP containing exclusive material will be released in March. | 0

MINOR CRISIS: 'Stomp The Page' Single Available For Streaming
"Stomp The Page", the first single from MINOR CRISIS, the new band featuring former members of ZAO and THE CHARIOT, can be streamed below. The song is taken from MINOR CRISIS' full-length album "Temple", which will be available for pre-order on February 18.
Regarding the single and its concept, MINOR CRISIS guitarist/vocalist Chris Fincher says: "Bob Dylan said that he once saw a black tree branch that never quit bleeding, a bunch of men in a room with blood still on their hammers, ten thousand men who spoke but said nothing and ten thousand whispers while no one was listening.
"There is a dark side to us all that can't be contained when we engrave our soul onto a piece of wood, a piece of paper, an instrument or on our own minds. Basically, we all look at our hands at one time or another and ask the question: who am I, and what have I done?"
Embracing both electronic and analog music, MINOR CRISIS is a band ambitiously pursuing two equal paths of sound design. The resulting songs are a fusion of aggressive hard-rock and post-electronica, which crosses the defined boundaries of IDM and rock.
MINOR CRISIS is:
Chris Fincher (Vocals, Guitar) Roy Goudy (Vocals, Guitar)Jeff Ashmore (Bass, Ableton) Joey Hulsey (Drums) | 0

Sweden's NARNIA Is Back
Swedish neo-classical metallers NARNIA are back and stronger than ever. The band will celebrtate the 15th anniversary of the release of its "Long Live The King" album with bombastic live shows and a deluxe reissue of the album on CD and limited-edition vinyl.
NARNIA 2014 is:
Christian Liljegren (vocals)CJ Grimmark (guitars)Andreas "Habo" Johansson (drums)Martin Härenstam (keyboards) Andreas Passmark (bass)
When singer Christian Liljegren and guitar viruoso CJ Grimmark formed NARNIA in 1996, they knew little about the adventures which lay ahead: tours, six albums, live album/DVD, TV, radio and trips to Japan, The Faroe Islands, Mexico and, of course, Europe.
NARNIA has toured with such bands as DIO, STRATOVARIUS and SONATA ARCTICA. They played several festivals, such as Sweden Rock Festival and Gates Of Metal, where thousands of fans enjoyed NARNIA's energetic live show.
The resurrected NARNIA hopes to visit countries which it has not previously played.
NARNIA's sixth album, "Course Of A Generation", came out in Europe on July 24, 2009 via Massacre Records. The CD marked the recording debut of lead singer Germán Pascual (MIND'S EYE, MENDEZ), who replaced Christian Liljegren. The cover artwork was created by Carlos Barbosa from Artiside, Brazil and the logo was redesigned by Rainer Mittelstädt of InLine Design in Germany.
"Course Of A Generation" was mixed by Fredrik Nordström and Henrik Udd at Studio Fredman (IN FLAMES, SOILWORK, ARCH ENEMY, DIMMU BORGIR) in Gothenburg, Sweden.

FALLEN FATE: 'Blackened Within' Lyric Video
"Into The Black", the sophomore album from North East England's purveyors of modern metal FALLEN FATE, was released on January 30. The follow-up to 2011's "The Virus Has Spread" was recorded, in part, in Stymphalian Productions in York with producer James Stephenson and was finished in vocalist Lee Skinner's home studio.
The official lyric video for the song "Blackened Within" can be seen below.
"Into The Black" retains FALLEN FATE's signature punishing heaviness but it's also apparent that the band has moved on musically since "The Virus Has Spread".
Comments Lee Skinner: "Dark, expressive and heavy…The sound and feel of FALLEN FATE has changed quite a bit since the release of 'The Virus Has Spread'. The band has progressed and developed a more solid metal sound while maintaining a unique mix of speed and heaviness in the music.
"Based on a horror movie theme around a young girl called Vespa, the concept of 'Into The Black' plays a big part in how the album sounds and how it is visually portrayed through the artwork and upcoming videos. It contributed to the evolving sound of the band as we introduced more keyboards and experimental sounds into the mix, giving it a different dark feel and sound."
Talking further about the concept of the album, Skinner elaborates: "She [Vespa] chose a life without faith and over time became possessed by a demon. The demon slowly took over her body and ultimately lead her to kill herself and her family. The drive behind the concept is to empower the listener to decide whether she was possessed by the Devil, as she has no saviour in her life, or if she was possessed by God, punishing her for her lack of faith."
The artwork for "Into The Black" was designed by both photographer Ian Cameron and Skinner through his own Black Venom Designs.
"Into The Black" track listing:
01. The Rise (intro)02. Blackened Within03. Until The Final Hour04. Into The Black05. Possession06. I Welcome The Dead07. Rituals08. Last Rites09. The Demise (intro)10. Vespa | 0
