New KAMELOT Singer Is 'Strongly Confident' In The Band's Future

American/German symphonic metallers KAMELOT last week announced the addition of Scandinavian singer Tommy Karevik to the group's ranks.

The general public may not be overly familiar with the 30-year-old Swede Karevik, but people in the industry know him as the immensely talented frontman of the Swedish band SEVENTH WONDER.

Commented Tommy: "I am truly happy to finally get to write these words to you...

"It is with great respect I look at the things KAMELOT has achieved over the years, both in terms of songwriting and when it comes to reaching out to the heart of the listener.

"Changing a singer is always a big thing for a band and even more so when you had a singer like Roy [Khan]. But although I am humble before the task ahead, I am also strongly confident in the new material and in the future to come!

"I am so honored to now be a part of the family and I can't wait to move into the new era of the band together with the guys. You can rest assured I will give it my all! From this day, a new journey has begun and I am really eager to meet you all along the way to share with you my passion for this music. I believe in this, so thank you for believing in me!"

KAMELOT guitarist Thomas Youngblood previously stated about Karevik: "We had around 800 candidates for the vacant position, among them a number of really renowned musicians, and having to reject them really wasn't easy. We want to thank all the applicants, thank you for your understanding and we wish you all lots of success in the future!"

In their search for a new singer, Youngblood found YouTube to be an amazing tool: "I listened to a clip of a studio production featuring Tommy and have to confess that his performance really amazed me," he said. "His approach to melodies and themes suits KAMELOT perfectly, and during our European shows we had plenty of opportunity to find out what a great guy he is."

Tommy first appeared as one of the guest singers on KAMELOT's very successful 2011 Pandemonium World Tour (see footage below).

Youngblood on the style and content of the concept album: "The new songs sound more symphonic and melodic than our last two studio recordings. The material brings to mind albums such as 'Karma' (2001) and 'The Black Halo' (2005). In addition, this will be the best production that KAMELOT have ever delivered. Because while other acts tend to opt for low-budget productions due to the difficult market situation, we have gone the opposite way: the new album will be a real statement, in terms of our compositions as well as in terms of our sound."

"Our new album marks another step and a new chapter for KAMELOT and our amazing fans!"

KAMELOT will support Finnish/Swedish symphonic metallers NIGHTWISH on a North American tour in September and October.

For more information, visit EnterTheVault.com.

KAMELOT's recently completed North American, South American and European tours featured guest singer Fabio Lione of RHAPSODY OF FIRE following the departure of KAMELOT's longtime frontman, Roy Khan.

PERIPHERY Announces New Full-Time Bassist

Maryland-based experimental, progressive metallers PERIPHERY have issued the following update:

"We're incredibly excited to announce that our longtime friend and contributor Adam 'Nolly' Getgood (RED SEAS FIRE) will be joining PERIPHERY as a full-time member. He will be taking care of bass duties live and in the studio, and additionally will be bringing his considerable guitar playing, production and songwriting abilities to the table.

"Nolly should already be known to many, having filled-in live on both bass and guitar several times over the years. He also played all of the bass on, and co-produced, our new album, 'Periphery II: This Time It's Personal'. He will be taking up his permanent spot in the live line-up as of this October's European tour with BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME and THE SAFETY FIRE. Our excellent friend Jeff Holcomb will be filling in on bass for all live dates between now and October, including the imminent Summer Slaughter tour."

Commented PERIPHERY guitarist Misha Mansoor: "Nolly has been an honorary PERIPHERY member for the last few years. He filled in on bass for us on our first real tour (Thrash And Burn 2009) and since then has always been there for us and has helped us out immensely. Given that we love him dearly as a friend and found that we have excellent chemistry both on stage and in the studio, and he is a master of all of his instruments, hiring him as our full-time bassist was the logical solution. His irreplaceable ability and insight brought so much to the production and bass on 'Periphery II: This Time It's Personal' — we don't feel that anyone else would be able to take on the roles he has filled. He has already been writing with us for new material, and we are proud to have him on board!"

Added Nolly: "It's absolutely amazing to be joining my friends in PERIPHERY full-time! Having felt like part of the 'family' for quite some time, this feels like an incredibly natural step. I've had the pleasure of watching them grow to their current stage and can't wait to see where we can take the band together!"

"Periphery II: This Time It's Personal" can be streamed in its entirety in the YouTube clip below. Due in North America on July 3 via Sumerian Records and in Europe on July 16 through Century Media Records, the CD will feature guest appearances by John Petrucci (DREAM THEATER), Guthrie Govan (THE ARISTOCRATS) and Wes Hauch (THE FACELESS).

German Tech Death Metallers SOPHICIDE Announce WILLOWTIP Debut

German technical death metal sorcerers SOPHICIDE will release their debut album, "Perdition Of The Sublime", on August 14 via Willowtip Records. The 11-track longplayer was recorded, mixed and mastered by founder Adam Laszlo at his home studio and features the striking cover design by artist Steve Voigt.

Formed as a one-man-project in 2009 by then-19-year-old Laszlo, SOPHICIDE fuses elaborate melodies with battering technical brutality into a sound that's as malicious as it is memorable. Meaning "murder of wisdom," SOPHICIDE describes the state of modern society and serves as the central theme of "Perdition Of The Sublime". Laszlo notes: "It's another word for anti-intellectualism. People are stupid, ignorant and seem to be proud of it. This is a disturbing trend."

He adds, "I'm really keen to release this album. I've put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into it and I hope people can connect to it as I do. Basically the overall theme coincides with the meaning of ‘sophicide.' Intellect and enlightenment seem to be displaced by religion and casting shows. There's this overall apathy, people don't seem to give a shit about anything as long as they get their cheap meat and TV shows. This is what 'Perdition Of The Sublime' is basically about, although the focus is on religion, after all it's the elephant in the room."

"Perdition Of The Sublime" track listing:

01. The Art Of Atrocity
02. Within Darkness
03. Perdition Of The Sublime
04. Of Lust And Vengeance
05. Execration
06. Blood For Honour
07. Freedom Of Mind
08. Folie Á Deux
09. Lafayette's Deception
10. Dawn Of A New Age
11. The Essence Of Warfare

Vocalist JIMMIE STRIMELL Quits DEATHDESTRUCTION

Vocalist Jimmie Strimell has announced his departure from the Swedish metal band DEATHDESTRUCTION.

Commented the remaining members of the group: "After several discussions about what we think is best for this band, and where we need to be going, the four of us decided that Jimmie should focus on his commitments with [his other band] DEAD BY APRIL, and leave DEATHDESTRUCTION. There are no hard feelings from any of us — there's nothing but love!

"After DEAD BY APRIL's appearance on the Swedish Eurovision Song Contest, the band got a second breakthrough in Sweden, which, of course, affects DEATHDESTRUCTION's touring possibilities.

"Jimmie doesn't want to be the guy holding back the band's opportunities to tour, do live shows etc, due to gigs with his other band. So, even though this wasn't what we'd planned, all four of us feel that this is the best solution.

"We sincerely wish the best to Jimmie and DEAD BY APRIL.

"So, for the time being, we have no singer. We've just started writing new material for our second album that will be released on Sony Music. We are totally stoked about it and can't wait to hit the studio again together with our producer Roberto Laghi!

"So if any one of you out there think you're the man for this job, give us a shout at deathdestructiongbg@gmail.com."

DEATHDESTRUCTION last year inked a deal with the Swedish branch of Sony Music Entertainment. The band's three-song EP, "Fuck Yeah", was released in April 2011 and was followed by the group's self-titled debut album in August. The CD was recorded at IN FLAMES' IF Studios with producer Roberto Laghi (IN FLAMES, HARDCORE SUPERSTAR, LOK, SONIC SYNDICATE).

DEATHDESTRUCTION is:

[to be announced] - Vocals
Henrik Danhage (ex-EVERGREY) - Guitar
Fredrik "Loppan" Larsson (HAMMERFALL) - Bass
Jonas Ekdahl (ex-EVERGREY) - Drums

LAMB OF GOD Frontman Reportedly Released From Czech Jail

According to the Czech news site Blesk.cz, LAMB OF GOD frontman Randy Blythe appeared in court shortly before 10 a.m. today for a hearing in connection with the death of a fan more than two years ago.

Blythe, who was arrested Wednesday (June 27) at the Prague airport on manslaughter charges, was reportedly released on 4 million Czech Koruna bail (approximately $200,000 — an amount which, according to the site, Randy claimed was the equivalent of his annual income). Since most banks are closed this weekend, Blythe will be allowed to pay off his bail on Monday (July 2). The singer, who did not speak at his hearing and was "timid as a lamb," was considered a flight risk by the judge and will reportedly have to remain in the country at least for the next two days. Photos and video footage (see below) of Blythe in court show him wearing an OBITUARY hooded sweatshirt and American flag hat. For safety reasons, he also had his shoelaces removed while he was in the pre-trial detention cell.

LAMB OF GOD guitarist Mark Morton — who, along with the rest of the band, is in Prague, tweeted a few hours ago, "Today just turned into a FANTASTIC day!!!"

Blythe, 41, who was represented by two lawyers in court, is accused of causing the fatal injury that occurred at LAMB OF GOD's May 24, 2010 show in Prague. The singer apparently either pushed or struck a 19-year-old fan named Daniel N. who had come on stage, and that person died 14 days later of bleeding in the brain.

According to WTVR-TV, another Czech online news site, Aktualne.cz, has published statements from a witness — a friend of the victim — who said the fan wasn't using drugs or alcohol and fell back directly on his head. The victim lapsed into a coma and died two weeks later.

The crime of which Blythe is being accused is punishable by up to ten years in prison, according to popular Czech news web site Novinky.cz.

LAMB OF GOD was scheduled to perform on Thursday at the Rock Café in Prague with SKELETONWITCH and ALL SHALL PERISH but that show ended up getting canceled.

LAMB OF GOD's publicist, Adrenaline PR, issued a statement yesterday stressing that "under no circumstances was there a fight of any kind involved [during LAMB OF GOD's 2010 concert]. This incident deals with a fan that three times during the concert jumped the barricade and rushed Randy during the performance. It is alleged that the third time, security was not able to reach him and that Randy pushed him back into the audience where supposedly he fell and hit his head."

Video footage and a photo of Randy in a Czech court earlier today can be seen below.

The band's setlist for the June 24 concert was as follows:

04. For Whom The Bell Tolls
05. The Shortest Straw

In an interview with CBS Local, METALLICA lead guitarist Kirk Hammett said, "I know 'Ride The Lightning' forwards and backwards. It's not like 'The Black Album,' where there are three or four songs that we rarely play. Over the course of the years, we've played most of 'Ride The Lightning', except for one song we've never done, 'Escape'. It was pretty easy [to re-learn those songs]. We put way more time into learning 'The Black Album' than 'Ride The Lightning'."

Orion Music + More featured multiple live music stages plus a lifestyle element that reflects each of METALLICA's bandmembers' many personal interests.

When asked why METALLICA would want to do their own festival, guitarist/vocalist James Hetfield said in a recent interview, "First of all, because we can. Why wouldn't you? We're just trying to bring a little more of a mix to what is going on. . . . I think the Europeans are able to look at a festival more as an event than 'my favorite band is playing.' We're not necessarily trying to reproduce that in the States, but we'd like to bring a little taste of that here."

Regarding the significance of the "Ride The Lightning" and "Metallica" albums, Hetfield said, "'Ride The Lightning' started to splinter us off from your SLAYERs and other thrash bands. A song called 'Fade To Black' was an instant thorn in the side of the metal community. It was the first veering off the studded path. [The Black Album] became the album, I guess, that people needed to have. It's a gateway for people to get into METALLICA."

EXODUS Bassist On RANDY BLYTHE Concert Incident: 'If You Come On Stage, You're Trespassing'

Nick Azinas of Peek From The Pit conducted an interview with bassist Jack Gibson of San Francisco Bay Area metallers EXODUS earlier today (Friday, June 29) prior to the band's performance at the Tuska open-air festival in Helsinki, Finland. You can now watch the chat below. A couple of excerpts follow.

On the news that LAMB OF GOD frontman Randy Blythe was arrested on Wednesday in Prague, Czech Republic in connection with the death of a fan who jumped on stage at a LAMB OF GOD show more than two years ago:

Gibson: "I'm very surprised that that happened. I mean, we've had very [much] the same type of thing happen. We had a guy get on stage and was singing with Rob [Dukes, EXODUS vocalist] arm-in-arm, and when Rob pulled the mic away, the guy didn't wanna go and he grabbed Rob's arm and twisted him and Rob beat the fucking shit out of him on stage for it and [rightfully] so. And I got in there and wanted to give him the boot. That's our stage when we're there, you know what I mean?! That's our shit up there — that's our stuff, our pedals, our guitars… That's our place. Everybody knows what happened to Dimebag [late PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott who was shot and killed onstage while performing with DAMAGEPLAN in December 2004] — this guy just walks onstage and he's out of his fucking mind and shit goes incredibly wrong. There's a lot of bands that, after that happened, they just said, 'No people on stage, period.' For us, it's kind of part of our shows — letting people get up and jump off and all that stuff. We kind of have this… It's kind of a collective idea of who's been on stage too long. Like, you just know when a guy is not wanting to… You know, you get up, you can headbang, you can even come over and give us [a quick pat on the back], and run, and then you've gotta go — you've gotta go. I don't know, man. That's a little bit disturbing. Of course, I have sympathy for the kid who died and that he was in a coma, all that. Of course, I don't like to see anybody die or say that anybody deserved anything or whatever, but I am very surprised that that happened. And I can't imagine that a good lawyer isn't gonna get this settled, because it's like, if you come on stage, you're trespassing, you know what I mean?! It's almost like we just have to wait and see how this shakes out. I super-hope it [sorts itself out], 'cause that's a pretty serious situation, so I hope for [Randy] it's alright."

On whether EXODUS has plans to record the follow-up to 2010's "Exhibit B: The Human Condition" album:

Gibson: "We're way overdue to do it. We've just been so busy. Actually, we've been getting great tour offers over and over, and we just keep wanting to take them, and that, coupled with the fact that Gary [Holt], our main guitar player and songwriter, is out playing with SLAYER, he's filling in for [SLAYER guitarist] Jeff [Hanneman] on this whole [SLAYER tour]. Nobody really knows how long that's gonna take, how long Jeff's gonna take [to recover from contracting necrotizing fasciitis, likely caused by a spider bite, in January 2011]. I mean, it was pretty severe what happened to him, from what I understand. So we just haven't had the time, to be perfectly honest. I know that Gary has songs, and Lee [Altus, guitar] has some stuff — they've been coming up with stuff — [but] we just really haven't had the time to sit down and hammer it all out and then record it. That takes a few months together to make that happen, and we just haven't had the time, basically. But there is gonna be another album, for sure. The way that our writing has been going and our albums have been going, it's gonna be great — I know it. What I've heard Gary noodling with. Me, him and Tom [Hunting, drums] have kind of just fooled around with it here and there, and man, it's gonna be good. Gary, he's the main driver, and [the songwriting] keeps evolving. It's one of the things I really like about the band — the music keeps getting good; it doesn't just stay the same or we don't rewrite the last one. We kind of throw the last one out and do something new each time. So I expect the same and more from the next album."

"Exhibit B: The Human Condition" was released in North America on May 18, 2010 via Nuclear Blast Records.

The CD sold around 4,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 114 on The Billboard 200 chart.

EXODUS' previous album, "The Atrocity Exhibition: Exhibit A", opened with 3,600 units back in October 2007.

TESTAMENT: Official 'True American Hate' Lyric Video Released

The official lyric video for "True American Hate", a brand new song from San Francisco Bay Area metallers TESTAMENT, can be seen below. The track comes off the band's new album, "Dark Roots Of Earth", which will be released in North America on July 31 via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD was produced, mixed and mastered by acclaimed British producer Andy Sneap (ARCH ENEMY, NEVERMORE, ACCEPT, EXODUS). Special bonus tracks were recorded, mixed and mastered by Juan Urteaga (MACHINE HEAD, EXODUS, TED NUGENT, NIGHT RANGER) at his Trident Studios. The cover artwork for the effort (see below) was painted by Eliran Kantor, who has previously worked with ATHEIST, SIGH, ANACRUSIS and GWAR, among others.

In a recent interview with Decibel magazine, TESTAMENT frontman Chuck Billy stated about "True American Hate", "[It] was kind of inspired by when we sent all our troops overseas, and we were just seeing in the news when all that was going on a lot of young kids, under 10 years old, out there with their families burning American flags. And that was a pretty shocking thing to see, to see that generation, a kid that young being taught to hate that much. It makes you think what's going to happen, 10 to 15 years from now, when the majority of these kids have just been raised to hate. It struck me as a little odd."

"Dark Roots Of Earth" jewel case CD track listing:

01. Rise Up
02. Native Blood
03. Dark Roots Of Earth
04. True American Hate
05. A Day In The Death
06. Cold Embrace
07. Man Kills Mankind
08. Throne Of Thorns
09. Last Stand For Independence

01. Rise Up
02. Native Blood
03. Dark Roots Of Earth

Side B:

04. True American Hate
05. A Day In The Death
06. Cold Embrace

09. Last Stand For Independence

Side D (Bonus):

10. Dragon Attack (QUEEN cover)
11. Animal Magnetism (SCORPIONS cover)
12. Powerslave (IRON MAIDEN cover)

Last week, TESTAMENT shot a video for the song "Native Blood". Guitarist Eric Peterson told Greece's Rock Overdose webzine that the clip was going to be filmed "on an Indian reservation." He added, "It's about people who were oppressed in life. We haven't done [a video] in a while, so we're kind of excited about that."

Billy previously stated about "Native Blood", "[It's] basically a song about my Native heritage. It's almost like a protest song, that the Native Americans have a voice that needs to be heard — that's the chorus of the song."

Regarding the recording processs for "Dark Roots Of Earth", Billy said, "We [recorded] it at our place in Oakland and at Trident Studios and Andy [Sneap, producer] came out and did all the recordings with us — as much as he could — and then we finished off some vocals and guitars at Trident studios. I think over the years Andy really knows the sound of this band, and kinda knows what we want. We've mixed stuff with Andy, so I think he knows without has having to be there physically with him what we are looking for. And I just haven't heard anybody in metal come out with any better mixes! Honestly!"

On the topic of some of the other tracks that will appear on "Dark Roots Of Earth", Billy said, "There's a song called 'Cold Embrace', which we kinda hoped we'd be able to pitch the song into one of the 'Twilight' series movies; it's a song about a girl becoming a vampire and never being able to see the sun again. 'Dark Roots Of Earth' is kind of a play on the band we have together, just like a metaphor, like TESTAMENT is a tree and all of us in this group are really embedded in the planet, in the earth, the environment and our surroundings. It was kind of a play on that. 'Rise Up' is more of a war song, like you're preparing yourself for war, going into battle. There is a lot of cool stuff there."

Due to a "serious injury," TESTAMENT drummer Paul Bostaph was unable to take part in the recording sessions for the CD and was replaced by Gene "The Atomic Clock" Hoglan (DARK ANGEL, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, FEAR FACTORY, DETHKLOK). Bostaph has since announced his departure from the group.

When asked if Hoglan — who is currently touring with TESTAMENT — will become a permanent member of the band, Billy told Horns Up Rocks!, "We'd like him to be, but I think right now we're just taking it tour by tour. We don't know yet. We just kind of unexpected had to do this tour before the record came out, so we haven't really thought about it yet."

Regarding how different it is playing with Gene compared to working with Bostaph, Chuck said, "We played with Gene before on our 'Demonic' record [1997], so we knew exactly what Gene was capable of and what he would bring to the table. We knew that it would definitely bring a different style of drumming, 'cause Gene's a different player than Paul. I think it just worked out. Eric [Peterson, TESTAMENT guitarist] had a lot of the [basic drum patterns] already done [for the new album], and Gene just had to kind of put his style on it."

METALLICA Bassist Rejoins SUICIDAL TENDENCIES On Stage At 'Orion Music + More' (Video)

METALLICA bassist Robert Trujillo rejoined his former SUICIDAL TENDENCIES bandmates on stage at the Orion Music + More festival on June 23 to perform the INFECTIOUS GROOVES songs "Punk It Up" and "Violent & Funky". Fan-filmed video footage of his appearance can be seen below.

Trujillo was first invited to join SUICIDAL TENDENCIES for a European tour in 1989 supporting East Coast thrashers ANTHRAX. While with SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, Robert appeared on some of the band's most successful albums: "Lights, Camera, Action" (1990), "The Art Of Rebellion" (1992) and "Still Cyco After All These Years" (1993). During Trujillo's years with SUICIDAL, the group's vocalist, Mike Muir, heard some of Robert's homemade demos and they collaborated on a funkier, more progressive sound under the name INFECTIOUS GROOVES. They produced a number of albums such as "The Plague That Makes Your Booty Move..." (1991), "Sarsippius' Ark" (1993) and "Groove Family Cyco" (1994).

RANDY BLYTHE's Brother: 'We're Hoping For The Best'

"We're all concerned about him. We're hoping for the best," Mark Blythe, the brother of LAMB OF GOD singer Randy Blythe told WTVR-TV, the CBS television affiliate based in Richmond, Virginia, on Friday (June 29).

Czech police spokeswoman Jana Rosslerova told the Associated Press that that a court is set to rule today (Saturday, June 30) on whether to continue detaining Randy in connection with the death of a fan more than two years ago.

Rosslerova said that Blythe was arrested Wednesday, accused of causing bodily harm resulting in death — a crime punishable by up to ten years in prison, according to popular Czech news web site Novinky.cz.

Blythe, 41, is reportedly accused of causing the fatal injury that occurred at LAMB OF GOD's May 24, 2010 show in Prague. The singer apparently either pushed or struck the fan who had come on stage, and that person later died.

According to WTVR-TV, another Czech online news site, Aktualne.cz, has published statements from a witness — a friend of the victim — who said the fan wasn't using drugs or alcohol and fell back directly on his head. The victim lapsed into a coma and died weeks later.

Watch a new two-minute video report from WTVR-TV below.

MEGADETH: Behind-The-Scenes Footage From Finland's TUSKA Festival

MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson has uploaded a new eight-minute video clip featuring behind-the-scenes footage from the band's June 29 concert at Tuska open-air festival in Helsinki, Finland. Check it out below.

In a recent interview with ChicagoNow.com, MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson stated about the recording of the band's latest album, "TH1RT3EN", "The producer in MEGADETH… they come in with all of their acumen and all of their professional abilities but at the same time they have to be able to work with Dave [Mustaine] who is ultimately bringing the vision of MEGADETH to that producer. And if that relationship works, we make great records. If and when it doesn't, we don't. And it's really that simple because a band with a bunch of ideas who can't get them on tape… that ain't a record. So to me, that's the dynamic that has to happen and I think it totally came together on this album."

Ellefson continued, "The creative part of bands can be trying. It can be difficult. You're just laying everything out on the table. Your emotions. In order to make great music and great art you have to make yourself vulnerable. And that's something that a bunch of dudes in a metal band… that challenges that whole dynamic! Yet you have to do it if you really want to make passionate music that translates out of the speakers into people's hearts, ya know? And that's what we're here to do. To get into your head, your heart and your soul. So I think we did it right and it's been great."

When asked what it's like to see the crowd's passionate reaction to MEGADETH's more politically charged music, Ellefson said, "Dave [Mustaine] and I wrote a song together on 'Countdown To Extinction' called 'Foreclosure Of A Dream' which we've now put in the set. We've been playing it. And Dave last night even introduced it and he said, 'This song is just as appropriate twenty years later as it was when we wrote it in 1992.' And boy is that ever the truth. And I think that's the element about MEGADETH is that our songs lyrically and musically have a timeless feature to them. Maybe not all of them but by and large the catalog has that feature. And I really noticed that even when we went out with the 'Big Four' [METALLICA, MEGADETH, SLAYER and ANTHRAX] and did those shows. Our music didn't sound like, 'Oh yeah, that's a throwback to 1986.' Or 'Remember when that was all popular back in 1991?' MEGADETH doesn't sound like a period piece. It's definitely something that transcends time and because of those lyric topics and the way the lyrics are written they seem to just be something that's kind of like an onging, reoccurring narrative."

STONE SOUR Live DVD Coming Out...For Fan Club Members Only

According to The Pulse Of Radio, that STONE SOUR concert DVD that singer Corey Taylor first spoke about last year is finally coming out...sort of. The "Live At Brighton" DVD will be made available only to members of the band's fan club. The disc will be provided to new members as part of their one-year membership welcome package, along with a poem from Taylor, autographed memorabilia, plus early access to music and concert tickets.

Apparently the DVD will not include a proposed EP of cover songs that the group planned to record and put in the package. Taylor told The Pulse Of Radio about the plans for the DVD and EP in 2011. "We shot a concert last year on the co-headlining tour that we did with AVENGED SEVENFOLD, and we shot it in Brighton (England), and we've been trying to get it together ever since and it's just been insane," he said. "There's been so much work and we just haven't had a chance to kind of get a handle on it. But we've been talking about doing a covers EP forever. This is just a kind of a cool way to put something cool out that the fans will dig."

The DVD was filmed on November 7, 2010 at the Brighton Center in Brighton, England on STONE SOUR's "Audio Secrecy" tour.

Meanwhile, STONE SOUR's upcoming fourth effort, "House Of Gold And Bones", will be a double concept album, with part one coming out in October 2012 and part two arriving sometime next year.

Each disc will contain 12 of the project's total of 24 songs, with the complete package telling one story.

Taylor told Kerrang! magazine that the new album will have "a lot of multi-media involved," including a comic book that may be published by DC Comics.

ETERNAL GRAY Parts Ways With Vocalist, Bassist; Announces Replacements

Israeli metallers ETERNAL GRAY issued the following statement:

"We would like to announce that after being several years in the band, Oren Balbus (vocals) and Gil Ben-Yaakov (bass) are no longer part of ETERNAL GRAY. Gil and Oren have been our friends and band members for over seven years now, in which 'Your Gods, My Enemies' was recorded, as well as numerous unforgettable shows were played together. However, throughout the years, we have been faced with the difficult realization that the band's creative future does not fit with Gil's and Oren's and therefore, had to make this tough decision.

"Gil and Oren will always be a part of the ETERNAL GRAY family. We wouldn't be where we are without their contribution, commitment and drive.

"From now on, Gil and Oren will be replaced by two talented minds: Zion Mizrachi (vocals) and Eyal Ben Shushan (bass). Both Zion and Eyal have convinced us that ETERNAL GRAY, with them, will keep deliver the best music it possibly can and as always, keep standards high.

"Please welcome the new face of ETERNAL GRAY!"

ETERNAL GRAY's second album, "Your Gods, My Enemies", was recorded at Studio Underground in Sweden and was released last year via Season Of Mist.

LORDI: 'Scarchives Vol. 1' Artwork, Release Date Revealed

Finnish heavy metal monsters LORDI will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the release of their debut album and the 20-year anniversary of LORDI's conception (then just featuring the band's mainman, Mr. Lordi) the by issuing a new CD/DVD, entitled "Scarchives Vol. 1", containing rare and previously unreleased material. On the CD you will find the full unreleased album from 1997, "Bend Over And Pray The Lord". The DVD brings out the full, completely uncensored and untouched recording of LORDI's very first show from 2002. Pretty much no one's ever heard the album, and no one's ever seen this video ... until now. On the booklet you'll also find a long, detailed backstory of making of "Bend Over And Pray The Lord".

Earlier this year, LORDI mainman Mr. Lordi commented on the "Scarchives Vol. 1" release: "The [proposed] box set will NOT come out as a box per se. The items that were supposed to be in the box will be released separately item by item. The reason for this unforeseen change of plans is that all the planned items in the physical box would have raised the production costs so high that the very small, limited quantity of the box would have put the price of each individual box probably unbearable for most of the fans. So it was decided that the best solution is to divide the set in parts. This way the price of each item will not be as pricy, and everyone can decide for themselves what items they want and can afford. So, in a way, the contents of the box set are coming, but the actual physical box is not."

He continued, "The first part to be released is a CD/DVD. It will include the very first unreleased LORDI album, 'Bend Over And Pray The Lord - The Heavy Rock Album' (CD) from 1997. The original booklet is included with no touch-ups whatsoever, plus a long story about making the album. As bonus tracks, 'Get Heavy', which was added to the album a bit later on, is included, as well as 'Hulking Dynamo', produced and mixed by late TT Oksala for 'Get Heavy' in 2002, with little additional work done this year by Mikko Karmila. The other part is a DVD, which includes the very first LORDI show from Nosturi, Helsinki 2002. The show was filmed by multiple cameras, and it is completely unfixed and none of the mistakes and embarrassing moments are edited out. The setlist includes, naturally, all the 'Get Heavy' songs. As a bonus, commentary track by myself and a gallery of all the unreleased merchandise from that era."

LORDI will enter WireWorld Studio in Nashville, Tennessee in September with renowned producer Michael Wagener (METALLICA, OZZY OSBOURNE, SKID ROW, DOKKEN, RAVEN, MEGADETH) to begin recording their new album for an early 2013 release.

LORDI previously worked with Wagener on 2010's "Babez For Breakfast", which sold around 1,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 43 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

DYSRHYTHMIA - neuer Song \'Test of Submission\' im Stream!

“Dysrhythmia” is an onomatopoeia of monikers; no other band’s name so aptly describes their sound. Their off-kilter skronky noodle stew — created by the Vulcan mind meld trio of Colin Marston (Krallice, Behold… The Arctopus, Gorguts), Kevin Hufnagel (Gorguts, Vaura) and Jeff Eber (his parents) — is often imitated but never replicated; only Dysrhythmia themselves sound like this, earning the band endless praise over their twelve year, seven album career.

Test of Submission is their first album in three years and their 8th overall, and it’s also their first since leaving Relapse Records in favor of Profound Lore. It doesn’t come out until August 28th, but you can stream the title track right here, right now:

Czech Court To Rule Tomorrow On Whether To Continue Detaining LAMB OF GOD Singer

Czech police spokeswoman Jana Rosslerova has told the Associated Press that that a court is set to rule tomorrow (Saturday, June 30) on whether to continue detaining LAMB OF GOD singer Randy Blythe in connection with the death of a fan more than two years ago.

According to Rosslerova, Blythe was arrested Wednesday, accused of causing bodily harm resulting in death.

LAMB OF GOD bassist John Campbell, reached today on his cell phone by Richmond Times-Dispatch, declined to comment.

"I'm not ready to talk about anything going on," he said.

LAMB OF GOD was scheduled to perform on Thursday at the Rock Café in Prague with SKELETONWITCH and ALL SHALL PERISH but that show ended up getting canceled.

Blythe, 41, is reportedly accused of causing the fatal injury that occurred at LAMB OF GOD's May 24, 2010 show in Prague. The singer apparently either pushed or struck the fan who had come on stage, and that person later died.

METALLICA Performs At Former Danish Prison; Official Video Footage Released

Official Metallica.com footage of METALLICA's meet-and-greet, pre-show tuning-room jam and "Hell And Back" performance at at Statsfængsel, a former prison for inmates serving long sentences, in Horsens, Denmark on June 6 can be viewed below. Built in 1853, this large building's notable prisoners included former Minister Of Justice Peter Adler Alberti and mass murderer Peter Lundin. As time passed by, the buildings became unfit to serve as a prison and the place was finally shut down in 2006. Now the prison grounds serve as an entertainment venue, where many fairs, festivals and concerts take place.

As they have done on all the shows on their current European tour, the band played the "the black album" backwards, starting with closing number "The Struggle Within" and ending with "Enter Sandman".

The band's setlist was as follows:

01. Hit The Lights
02. Master Of Puppets
03. The Shortest Straw
04. For Whom The Bell Tolls
05. Hell And Back
06. The Struggle Within
07. My Friend Of Misery
08. The God That Failed
09. Of Wolf & Man
10. Nothing Else Matters
11. Through The Never
12. Don't Tread On Me
13. Wherever I May Roam
14. The Unforgiven
15. Holier Than Thou
16. Sad But True
17. Enter Sandman

Encore:

18. Blackened
19. One
20. Seek & Destroy

One of the most intriguing and mysterious projects on METALLICA's upcoming schedule is the band's 3D movie, which begins filming later this summer and will mix concert footage with a storyline. Drummer Lars Ulrich spoke with Rolling Stone about the project for the magazine's METALLICA cover story, saying, "This has been circling for two years. It's time to life-size it, get it out of our minds and on the screen. And if it's done right, it can be sensational. You're not watching METALLICA onstage. You're onstage with METALLICA. In IMAX, James Hetfield is 38 feet tall, snotting on you, spitting on you. It's 2,000 decibels. If there is an earthquake outside, you wouldn't notice."

Ulrich explained that the sheer power of presenting a METALLICA concert that way forced the group to add more to the movie, saying, "You can't do that for 100 minutes. It loses its appeal. There is another element in there — intimate, small, a story that takes place over the same trajectory as the concert. The question is, 'Where do they weave in and out of each other?'"

METALLICA is financing the project itself and has hired "Predators" director Nimród Antal to get behind the camera. Antal will film the band's August 24 concert in Vancouver, Canada for use in the movie.

The show will feature a brand new 140-foot-by-50-foot stage that will include what a post at the band's web site called "colossal components and striking visual elements spanning METALLICA's entire 30-year career."

The first-ever METALLICA-curated Orion Music + More festival will take place on June 23-24 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The group is headlining both days and will perform its entire 1984 album "Ride The Lightning" for the first time ever on one day, and its entire 1991 "black album" on the other.

ALICE COOPER Bassist Launches BEASTO BLANCO

Music icons Chuck Garric and Chris Latham, along with producer Tommy Henriksen, announce the launch of the newest group BEASTO BLANCO.

"With BEASTO BLANCO, we have set out to create a live, raw power, rock and roll band that will allow us to indulge our influences and imagery that has shaped our collective musical background. BEASTO BLANCO taps into a truly unique rock sound, but still stays true to our roots," said Garric.

Garric, current bass player for ALICE COOPER, has been touring non-stop including a current tour with Cooper and IRON MAIDEN. In fact, Garric has contributed his songwriting skills to four ALICE COOPER records, including "Welcome 2 My Nightmare", "Eyes Of Alice Cooper", "Dirty Diamonds", and "Along Came A Spider". Chuck has also contributed to the last recorded DIO album, "Master Of The Moon". In addition, Garric has had the honor of playing bass for Steven Tyler, Rob Halford, Ted Nugent, Don Felder, CHEAP TRICK, Robbie Krieger and more.

BEASTO BLANCO has been busy in the studio recording three songs as well as the video for the first single release, "Breakdown", which is now available on iTunes. The video produced by Charles Conklyn is scheduled to be released early July.

"Breakdown" is already being heavily played in Alaska and Reno, Nevada and we're psyched at the positive feedback we've received from our fans!" said Chris Latham. "We can't wait for the rest of the world to hear our first single! And not to mention the video is KILLER!!"

NECROPHAGIA: Another New Song Available For Streaming

A new demo song from legendary gore metal pioneers NECROPHAGIA, "Hexen Nacht (All The Witches Dance)", can be streamed in the YouTube clip below. The track will be included on the band's new album, "WhiteWorm Cathedral", which will tentatively be released this Halloween.

NECROPHAGIA recently announced that "WhiteWorm Cathedral" will feature the return of Mirai Kawashima (SIGH) on keyboards/synthesizer. NECROPHAGIA recently released a teaser trailer (see below) for their upcoming DVD, "Gospel Of Gore". Produced and directed by Toetag Inc., the DVD "combines the audio horror of NECROPHAGIA and the visual assault Toetag brings forth," according to a press release.

NECROPHAGIA's most recent CD, "Deathtrip 69", came out in May 2011 via Season Of Mist. The band's fifth official full-length effort was recorded at Last House On The Left Studios in Ohio with vocalist Killjoy and guitarist Boris Randall handling production duties.
