KISS Rocks The \'Kruise\' For A Third Night
 The first-ever Kiss Kruise launched in style Thursday afternoon (October 13) from Miami, Florida with a non-makeup unplugged KISS sail-away concert. Over 2,500 Kiss Army members became inaugural members of the Kiss Navy.
According to KissOnline.com, KISS took to the stage again last night (Saturday, October 15), bringing another smashing set of KISS classics and favorites to their devoted fans on the Kiss Kruise. Performing in a 1500-seat theater aboard the Destiny, there was no pyro, no bombs, and no fire... but the show was hotter than hell. With the band up close and in such an intimate space, fans enjoyed another memorable evening of music and fun.
Due to the capacity of the Destiny's Palladium theater, fans aboard the Kruise received a ticket to either Friday night's concert or Saturday's, with each concert simulcast on the ship's Lido Deck massive outdoor screen so fans had the opportunity to enjoy both shows.

MACHINAE SUPREMACY at Assembly 2011 full length video released for free download
 Swedish SID-metallers Machinae Supremacy just released a HD recording of their gig at hacker's Assembly 2011. Thanks to its venue, Hartwall Arena, MaSu got one of the most advanced Finnish stages to their service and the gig was recorded at top industry standards and would beat some concerts DVDs of known bands.

SATAN\'S HOST: New Version Of \'Nightside Of Eden\' Available For Streaming
 Colorado Satanic metal masters SATAN'S HOST will release "Celebration For The Love Of Satan" on November 22 via Moribund Records. The disc is a collection of re-recorded versions of songs spanning the band's entire career, exclusing the material that was released on this year's "By The Hands Of The Devil" album, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the release of SATAN'S HOST's classic debut LP, "Metal From Hell". The new disc, which also includes two new songs, was once again recorded with producer Dave Otero at Flatline Audio in Denver, Colorado and has exclusive artwork by world-renowned artists Chris Moyen and Joe Petagno, with photography by Brent Boutte of Mirrorlife Productions.

KISS Rocks At Sea
The first-ever Kiss Kruise launched in style Thursday afternoon (October 13) from Miami, Florida with a non-makeup unplugged KISS sail-away concert. Over 2,500 Kiss Army members became inaugural members of the Kiss Navy.
On Friday, October 14, KISS performed its first full-makeup show on the Kiss Kruise, thrilling fans with a set list of KISS favorites that haven't been heard live in years, and in some cases, in decades. The show opened with "Room Service", before continuing with "Two Timer" and a rockin' version of "Comin' Home", which guitarist/singer Paul Stanley said had never been performed live in its original version before this show. Other concert standouts included "Take Me", "All The Way" and an electrifying "Rock Bottom".
Kiss Navy members displayed numerous flags from countries around the world, and as it was also costume party night, many KISS fans came to the show dressed for the occasion.

UNISONIC Featuring MICHAEL KISKE, KAI HANSEN Signs With earMUSIC/EDEL
UNISONIC, the new band featuring former HELLOWEEN vocalist Michael Kiske and Kai Hansen (GAMMA RAY, ex-HELLOWEEN) alongside Dennis Ward (bass) and Kosta Zafiriou (drums) of Germany's PINK CREAM 69 and Swiss guitarist Mandy Meyer (who has previously played with ASIA, GOTTHARD and KROKUS), has inked a deal with earMUSIC/Edel.
Commented Zafiriou: "We had several promising labels being interested in UNISONIC, but the enthusiasm of Max Vaccaro and his team convinced us that earMUSIC is the right company for us."
UNISONIC's debut EP will be released in January 2012, followed bya full-length album in the early spring.
After the addition of Hansen to the group's lineup in early 2011, UNISONICcontinued the songwriting process for its debut release, incorporating Kai's talent for writing great anthemic rock songs into its existing material. The recordings for the album started at end of September at ICP studios in Brussels, Belgium.
UNISONIC's music is very versatile and shows a broad approach to heavy rock without sacrificing the power and strong, catchy melodies that characterized the bandmembers' previous projects.
Commented Kiske: "It feels great to finally bring the band to the studio and record the songs we've been working on. We took our time to grow as a band, but it was definitely worth it and we are very proud of the result."
Added bassist/producer Ward: "We have a bunch of very strong songs and can't wait until people can hear them. Everyone in the band is now looking even more positive into the future."
Regarding Hansen's addition to UNISONIC, Kiske previously said, "After so many years of abstinence, I had a lot of fun doing my first live shows with UNISONIC in summer 2010, so I agreed to do the short world tour with AVANTASIA. It was a great experience to be on stage with all those great artists, but with Kai it was something different: We instantly felt the magic again and had a lot of fun together on and off stage. We both realized that we want to be together in band again. He was interested in the open musical concept of UNISONIC and finally asked me if he can join the band. I talked to my bandmates and they all felt great about it. His talent as a guitarist and songwriter is an enrichment for the band and we are looking forward to his contribution for the music of UNISONIC." | 0 | |

LIMP BIZKIT Frontman To Star In Comedy Project
 According to Deadline.com, LIMP BIZKIT frontman Fred Durst has signed a deal with CBS to star in a new sitcom. In the half-hour project, currently known as "Douchebag", Durst will star as a "rock legend" trying to juggle his family and his famous-person lifestyle. It will be written by Matthew Carlson ("Mr. Sunshine"), who will executive-produce with CBS TV studios-based producers Eric and Kim Tannenbaum. The idea was brought to the Tannenbaum Co. by Durst's manager/producer John Schneider who will serve as a non-writing producer.

WITHIN TEMPTATION To Play Acoustic Show For Charity
 In support of Hard Rock Café's "Pinktober" charity campaign to raise funds for the fight against breast cancer, Dutch female-fronted symphonic metallers WITHIN TEMPTATION will perform an exclusive unplugged set at Hard Rock Cafe in Cologne, Germany on November 17.
The performance is scheduled for 4 p.m. and will be followed by a signing session.
Tickets for this event will be sold exclusively at Hard Rock Café's Rock Shop in Cologne for 10 euros.
The first 20 visitors who present a ticket for WITHIN TEMPTATION's E-Werk concerts in Cologne on November 16 and November 17 will be granted free admission to the performance at Hard Rock Café.

Death-Metal Singer Helps Give \'The Thing\' A Horrifying Voice
 According to Wired.com, supervising sound editors for "The Thing" — director Matthijs van Heijningen Jr.'s remake-masked-as-a-prequel of John Carpenter's 1982 cult horror classic about an extraterrestrial marauder wreaking havoc on a chilly Antarctic compound — used heavy-metal singers, various animals and a hyperventilating actress to invest the film creature with the creepy vibe.
Beyond the animal kingdom, the sound editors blended in beastly grunts from Dylan Hromadka of the Santa Clarita, California death-metal band RESURRECTING JUDAS.
"Death-metal bands are gnarly," laughed Scott Hecker, one of the two supervising sound editors. "These singers really do sound like the devil."
John Carpenter's "The Thing" was itself a remake of the landmark 1951 movie "The Thing From Another World" starring James Arness as an alien from outer space who is really a violent veggie but looks like a man or Frankenstein's monster.

ROBERT PLANT Honored At \'Americana Music Association Honors & Awards\'
 LED ZEPPELIN legend Robert Plant was honored in the "Album Of The Year" category at the 10th annual Americana Music Association Honors & Awards, which was held last night (Thursday, October 13) at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Plant was nominated for his work on the "Band of Joy" album, his first release since recording the six-time Grammy-winning bluegrass album "Raising Sand" with collaborator Alison Krauss in 2007.
Plant stated that he had been "dreaming about American music and coming over here" since he was 12.
He added, "I stole a great deal with my old companions, and I was very fortunate (in) the last few years to be welcomed by some spectacular people, especially in this town."
"Band of Joy" sold 49,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 5 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD enlists the help of an array of U.S. musicians, all of whom performed with Plant on tour.

SOILWORK Frontman Added To STAR MONARCHY Project

NEMESEA recently parted ways with drummer Steven Bouma and replaced him with Frank Van Der Star.
NEMESEA recorded its July 2 and July 3, 2009 concerts at P3 in Purmerend, Holland for a live album, "Pure: Live @ P3", which was released in September 2009. The shows were unique in the sense that the audience was able to hear the band perform live in Surround Sound 7.0 as part of an innovative project that was conducted in co-operation with students from the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU).
NEMESEA's second album, "In Control", was produced by Tony Platt (AC/DC, BOB MARLEY) and Ronald Prent (RAMMSTEIN) and was released in June 2007.

CANDLEMASS Signs With NAPALM RECORDS For Farewell Album
 Legendary Swedish doomsters CANDLEMASS have inked a deal with Napalm Records. The band is currently working on material for its farewell album, which is tentatively scheduled for a spring 2012 release.

CANDLEMASS celebrated its 25-year anniversary by performing an extra-long, two-and-a-half-hour set at Debaser Medis in Stockholm on December 18, 2010. The band's classic debut album, "Epicus Doomicus Metalicus", was played in its entirety for the first time with the original singer Johan Längqvist.

CATHEDRAL To Release \'Anniversary\' Double-Disc Live Album In November
 In conjunction with Rise Above Records, Metal Blade will release the double-disc live album "Anniversary" from U.K. mainstays and international cult act CATHEDRAL on November 21. According to a press release, "Anniversary" captures CATHEDRAL in all their raw and live glory and marks the first official live album to be ever released by the doom metal legends. Recorded live in London, 2010, Disc 1 features "Forest Of Equilibrium" in its entirety, delivered impeccably by the original lineup of Lee Dorrian on vocals, Garry Jennings and Adam Lehan on guitar, Mark Griffiths on bass and Mike Smail on drums. Disc 2 is a greatest-hits set courtesy of the long-lasting lineup featuring Leo Smee (bass) and Brian Dixon (drums) alongside Dorrian and Jennings.
Commented Dorrian on the band's first-ever live album and the impending final live show: "The release of 'Anniversary' is both exciting and sad for us. Exciting, as it is the first-ever official CATHEDRAL live album, recorded at our 20th-anniversary show on December 3rd in London last year, where we reunited with our original lineup and performed the entirety of or debut album, 'Forest Of Equilibrium', for the first (and last) time ever. Sad, because December the 3rd this year will be the night we perform our last show ever, before calling it a day as a live band. MY DYING BRIDE: \'The Barghest O\' Whitby\' Mini-Site Launched
 Following the release of "Evinta" earlier this year, in which the band marked 20 years of existence with a release of symphonic compositions re-imagining past MY DYING BRIDE themes, the U.K. doom legends now present their latest chapter in the form of new EP, "The Barghest O' Whitby", to be released November 7 through Peaceville Records on CD and limited vinyl.
This single track, 25-minute epic represents the epitome of poetic grace and funeral soundscapes from one of gothic doom's most celebrated acts. With a masterful blend of pounding guitar riffs and sombre atmospheric passages, MY DYING BRIDE embarks on a chilling journey through superstition and folklore.

KILL RITUAL Completes Mixing Debut Album
 KILL RITUAL, the new band featuring former members of IMAGIKA, DARK ANGEL and ELDRITCH, has finished mixing its debut album, "The Serpentine Ritual", at KING DIAMOND guitarist Andy La Rocque's's Sonic Train Studio in Varberg, Sweden. La Rocque also plays a guest guitar solo on the track "Coat Of Blood". RIOT: New Song Available For Streaming
 Legendary U.S. metal band RIOT will release its new album, "Immortal Soul", which will be released on October 21 in Japan via Marquee/Avalon; October 26 in Scandinavia; October 28 in Germany; Austria and Switzerland; October 31 in the rest of Europe; and November 22 in the U.S. and Canada through Steamhammer/SPV. The effort will be available as a limited digipack with two bonus tracks, double gatefold LP (colored blue vinyl) and regular jewel case.
"Immortal Soul" sees Tony Moore, Mark Reale, Don Van Stavern and Bobby Jarzombek — the lineup responsible for the band's hugely acclaimed "Thundersteel" (1988) and "The Privilege Of Power" (1990) albums — reunited once more, together with Mike Flyntz who as the additional live guitarist helped bring these two acclaimed albums to life on stage.
RIOT is justifiably proud of its upcoming release. As bassist Don Van Stavern says, "'Immortal Soul' picks up where 'Thundersteel' left off, 20 years later! It has the same intensity, creativeness and passion that we put into our music. It's another ballbuster and I can't wait to unleash it on the masses."
Guitarist Mike Flyntz is equally enthusiastic. "I have been performing the songs from the 'Thundersteel' era for over 21 years," he says. "It has been an honor to write and record 'Immortal Soul' with Tony, Don, Bobby, and Mark. I am very proud of my contribution to this record and also very proud to play along with such inspirational musicians. I hope everyone enjoys this album as much as I do."
Drummer Bobby Jarzombek says, "'Immortal Soul' is a special record for me because in all the years that I've been playing and recording various projects, I've never been completely involved in any other CD from the very first day of writing to the very last day of mixing. I'm really looking forward to the live shows, and including some new 'Immortal Soul' songs into the set along with the RIOT classics!"
Founding member and guitarist Mark Reale, who has been RIOT's guiding force since the band released "Rock City" over thirty years ago, is quick to pay tribute to vocalist Tony Moore's input. "To me, the close collaboration with each of our vocalists has always been the decisive aspect in any RIOT release," he says. "That's why it was absolutely inspiring for me at the studio that Tony directly took up many of my ideas and translated them brilliantly, or contributed his own suggestions from which our songs benefited greatly. He is simply the perfect RIOT frontman!"
And as Tony Moore himself points out, "It's been nearly a quarter of a century since the five of us assembled in New York to create 'Thundersteel' and 'The Privilege Of Power', and the music world couldn't be more different. The Internet led us not only to discover that those albums had taken a special place in the history of metal, but also put us back in touch — and the result is 'Immortal Soul', an album that is 100 percent true to the legacy of those 1980s recordings. It's also packed with evidence of how we've all grown and changed as artists.
