Rockers React To Death Of QUEEN ELIZABETH II
"The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon," Buckingham Palace confirmed in a statement released today. "The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow."
Buckingham Palace released a statement today from His Majesty The King, in which he reflected on the passing of his mother.
"The death of my beloved Mother, Her Majesty The Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family," King Charles said. "We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished Sovereign and a much-loved Mother. I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the Realms, and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world."
He added, "During this period of mourning and change, my family and I will be comforted and sustained by our knowledge of the respect and deep affection in which The Queen was so widely held."
Shortly after her death was announced, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared a tribute to the queen on the web site for their foundation, Archewell. The landing page of the site changed to a simple black background with small white text that read, "In loving memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II 1926-2022."

For my whole life Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II has always been there. In my childhood I can recall watching her wedding highlights on TV. Не вижу смысла спорить с человеком при таком уровне непонимания, как работает британская монархия)

Премьер-министра утверждает парламент от той партии, что победила на выборах, перед парламентом же глава правительства несёт ответственность. Реально в государственные дела семейка Виндзор (Саксен-Кобург-Готы) давным-давно не лезет. Есть парламент, есть кабинет министров. Всё. Если убрать монархию, то принципиально ничего не изменится, разве что документ о британском Содружестве Наций придется переделать, но доминионы и так де-факто самостоятельные государства.
Кстати, речь изначально шла не про то, какой она политик. И ее значимость для британского общества очевидно заключается в гораздо большем, чем непосредственном участии в деятельности парламента
А так — ну, пойди, скажи британцам, что их покойная Элизабет суть фикция, плейсхолдер и симулякр изжившего себя к семнадцатому веку явления. Увидишь, как скоро тебе захотят прописать меж бровей
Не знаю как там с простыми британцами, но, читая интервью с британскими музыкантами, частенько слышал именно такую позицию, да. Всмысле, что монархия - фикция, только жрёт налоги и что надо эту шушеру разогнать.

И тут на сцене появился Хрущ помахал всему мировому сообществу ядерной залупой в защиту Насера, и всё. Войнушка резко закончилась, Э. Иден полетел из Дауниг стрит 10, не пробыв на посту и 2 лет. В Иране Моссадык национализировал британскую нефтяную компанию, что стоило ему должности, но компанию англичанам так и не вернули. В Сингапуре после независимости был Ли Кван Ю с чистками и арестами.
Весь скандальный и провокационный имидж Пистолс практически от начала до конца был выдуман и имплементирован МакЛареном. Музыканты там мало что соображали в принципе, да и к тому же были в таком возрасте, что любой протест против системы воспринимался ими как "круто гыгыгы".
