Finland's POST PULSE Release New EP For Free Download; Official Video For Cover Of JIMI HENDRIX Classic "Crosstown Traffic" Posted

Post Pulse is a unique death metal band hailing from Helsinki, Finland. Consisting of members Antti Karhu (ex-The Man-Eating Tree), Sam Roon (Hung), Tapani Rantanen and Anttoni Välimaa, the multi-cultural lineup produces a sound that marries American and Finnish death metal styles. The result is a rhythm-heavy, aggressive, and impactful body of work that stands out among bands in their genres on both sides of the ocean.

Today (July 15th) they release their new EP, The Price You Paid, which includes a cover of the classic Jimi Hendrix cut "Crosstown Traffic". It is available as a free download from the Post Pulse Bandcamp page, or via all digital platforms

"The Price You Paid" is an aggressive track and in your face by design, and includes a few truly special epic moments that encourage you to smash things around you. "Crosstown Traffic" was carefully crafted to pay homage to the original Jimi Hendrix classic, while remaining true to the Post Pulse sound.

The EP is mixed by Ryan Kelly at Garden Sound Studio and mastered by Andreas Andersson at Servant Studio (www.servantstudio.com).

Post Pulse's own Antti Karhu has once again put together some amazing videos for the tracks. "The Price You Paid" has an original style for a lyric video, and "Crosstown Traffic" pays tribute to the original Jimi Hendrix music video.

AD INFINITUM Ink Worldwide Deal With Napalm Records

Ad Infinitum have signed a worldwide contract with Napalm Records. "We are proud to have signed with one of the most talented symphonic power metal outlets in 2019!"

Ad Infinitum was founded in 2018 in Montreux, Switzerland as Melissa Bonny’s solo project that became a solid band, when she joined forces with Adrian Theßenvitz, Jonas Asplind and Niklas Müller. Now it’s time to push it to the next level! Ad Infinitum are already planning an album for early next year, which will be released via Napalm Records.

Says the band: "As the work on our album comes closer to its end, we are thrilled to announce that its arrival will be in good hands. We couldn’t hope for a better collaboration for this release than with Napalm Records. And cherry on the cake, the promotion of the album will start with a European tour with three talented bands. Stay tuned! Adrian, Niklas, Jonas & Melissa."

Melissa Bonny, known from Rage Of Light and as guest-musician at Warkings, created Ad Infinitum as powerful mix between the beauty and magic of symphonic melodies and hard metal riffs. Melissa enchants her fans with her extremely changeable and unique voice.

CIRCLE II CIRCLE Bassist MITCH STEWART Releases New Single "Chains"; Official Video Posted

Circle II Circle bassist Mitch Stewart has completed work on a new solo album, Lost In This Life. The new single, "Chains", was released today (August 16th) along with an official video. Check it out below.

Check out the previously released lyric video for Stewart's first solo single, "Death Of Me":

Speaking exclusively with BraveWords, Stewart opened up about Circle II Circle's current status. The band released Reign Of Darkness in 2015 but have not been very active in recent years.

Stewart: "We are on a bit of a hiatus. Bill (Hudson / guitars) is doing NorthTale, Zak (Stevens / vocals) is doing Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Henning (Wanner / keyboards) has his Ozzy tribute and COP UK. We're all just taking a much needed breather. I have written several songs for a new CD. Just waiting on Zak to give the thumbs up. For now though, we're all just doing our own thing."

Video Premiere: TRANSPORT LEAGUE's 'Dawn Of Lucifer'

"Dawn Of Lucifer", the new video from Swedish metallers TRANSPORT LEAGUE, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's eighth album, "A Million Volt Scream", which will be released on August 30 via Mighty Music.

Formed in 1994, TRANSPORT LEAGUE soon made its mark on the scene with its debut album, "Stallion Showcase". Two and a half decades and half a dozen albums later, the collective is back with a new record, "A Million Volt Scream", which was produced at Oral Majority Recordings and at the Top Floor studios under the direction of Roberto Laghi (IN FLAMES, ENTOMBED A.D., RAISED FIST, SONIC SYNDICATE, MUSTASCH, HARDCORE SUPERSTAR), who also mixed the album.

"Of course there's boogie again, but also doom and hardcore, fast songs and hard riffs," vocalist/guitarist Tony Jelencovich says of the new disc. "Our sound may have changed a few times, but not the band's raw power and our penchant for strong grooves.

"'A Million Volt Scream' is a return to our TRANSPORT LEAGUE roots and mixes them with influences that had already surfaced on our two previous releases, 'Boogie From Hell' and 'Twist And Shout At The Devil'."

The three longstanding members — Jelencovich, Peter Hunyadi (guitar) and Mattias Starander (drums) — recorded the album together with bassist Dennis Österdal.

LIONIZE Reveal “Heavy On My Mind” Video

US rockers Lionize have unveiled a video for brand new, soulful single “Heavy On My Mind”, taken from their forthcoming new album, Panic Attack! (out October 18th).

“Heavy On My Mind” is the band's most vulnerable and heartfelt song to date, reflecting on loss, such as the death of a loved one or relationships that end in heartbreak. The video (directed by Lionize, produced by the band and MyGoodEye) stars vintage sensation Cherry Dollface.

Panic Attack! showcases the band at their finest, bursting with huge choruses, massive hooks, and peak song-writing - Lionize's biggest, most song-driven album yet. The LP features Modern Drummer cover star & Clutch sticksman Jean Paul Gaster behind the kit and is the first to be released on Lionize's new label Electric Reckoning Music. 'Panic Attack!' was produced by Lionize with co-production from J. Robbins and Charlie Stavish (Imagine Dragons, Mars Volta), who also handled mixing duties. Preorder the album here.

Clutch's Jean-Paul Gaster on working with Lionize:

"I was honoured when Lionize asked me to play drums on their new album 'Panic Attack'. While I have worked with Lionize on many of their recordings, to be involved as a player this time around was an opportunity of a lifetime. Nate, Hank, and Chris have grown into musicians that inspire as much as challenge me. It was a thrill and the music we created is the best work the band has ever done. I’m excited for the fans to hear this unique mix of rock, funk, and soul music."

FLYING COLORS Feat. MIKE PORTNOY, STEVE MORSE, NEAL MORSE: 'Third Degree' Album Details Revealed; 'More' Video Available

FLYING COLORS will release its new album, "Third Degree", on October 4 via Music Theories Recordings.

In chemistry, when certain galvanizing elements come together, they become quite explosive. In music, when certain galvanizing artists come together, they become FLYING COLORS. In fact, whenever the five gentlemen who encompass FLYING COLORS — guitarist Steve Morse (DEEP PURPLE, DIXIE DREGS, ex-KANSAS), drummer Mike Portnoy (THE WINERY DOGS, ex-DREAM THEATER, TRANSATLANTIC), keyboardist/vocalist Neal Morse (TRANSATLANTIC, ex-SPOCK'S BEARD, and a prolific solo artist in his own right), bassist Dave LaRue (DIXIE DREGS, ex-Joe Satriani), and powerhouse vocalist and songwriter Casey McPherson (ALPHA REV, THE SEA WITHIN) — are able to conjoin their collective talents, the result is a sweet sonic bouillabaisse that reflects where their inherent mastery of melody intersects with top-shelf progressive musicianship.

And now, FLYING COLORS soar to even loftier heights with "Third Degree", their third studio album in a decade. "Third Degree" builds upon the genre-bending momentum of 2012's self-titled "Flying Colors" and the aural-template ascension of 2014's "Second Nature". From the skittery psychedelic/classical turnaround of the lead single "More" to the BEACH BOYS-meet-ASIA vibe of "Love Letter" to the deep emotionality of the album-ending, prog-leaning epic "Crawl", the nine tracks that comprise "Third Degree" signify just how much FLYING COLORS is willing to explore new frontiers.

"There's a lot of ear candy sprinkled throughout every song," observes Portnoy, "and each one takes you on a little journey. As albums go, 'Third Degree' is a complete piece that I don't think ever overstays its welcome. I think it's an enjoyable ride from start to finish."

It continues to build upon the deep-rooted musical connection the members of FLYING COLORS established on their first two boundary-stretching albums.

"There's a real special chemistry between the five of us," Portnoy confirms. "We keep getting better and better as we get more comfortable and more familiar with each other, and the music itself keeps getting more and more mature." Adds Steve Morse: "This one, dare I say it, explores new ground for the band. One of my favorites, 'Geronimo', has an upbeat, jazzy, heavy, melodic feel all at once. We just do what makes us smile and sounds good, instead of wondering how critics or program directors will like it. It makes for the best music!"

Casey McPherson concurs with his fellow bandmates by noting: "What 'Third Degree' really proves to me is that we have our own sound. There are no egos in this band, and we all want the best parts to come out, which is such a joy for me to participate in. I think that really allows people's uniqueness to show through."

The first sessions for the record took place at Steve Morse's studio in Florida in December 2016, wherein seven songs were written. From there, the band members had to scatter back to their other personal and professional obligations, eventually reconvening two full years later in December 2018, when three more tracks were added to the overall "Third Degree" mix. (The tenth track, "Waiting For The Sun", will be made available in forthcoming special editions.)

As a songwriter, McPherson is never afraid to confront his feelings head-on, whether it's the nostalgic bent of "Last Train Home" or the raw, relatable universality of "You Are Not Alone".

Another progression has been the band's use of technology to provide industry-leading sound. "Third Degree" was engineered with the award-winning Harmonic Phrase Analysis and Restoration (HPAR) technology. Developed by the band's resident mad scientist Bill Evans, he created HPAR based on the group's performance styles — resulting in unprecedented fidelity. FLYING COLORS regular producer Rich Mouser (THE NEAL MORSE BAND, TRANSATLANTIC) then crafted a sumptuous mix in his inimitable style.

Video Premiere: IGGY POP's 'James Bond'

Iggy Pop has unveiled the first video from his upcoming album "Free", due out September 6 on Loma Vista Recordings.

Directed by Simon Taylor, the clip for "James Bond" was shot on location at Sweat Records in Miami.

"James Bond" is the second song to be released in advance of the new album, and has been hailed "infectious" by Paste and by Consequence Of Sound as "a stylistic shift… magnetic."

In Iggy's own words, "James Bond" tells a story: "I don't know what she's up to exactly, but the tables seem to be turning, and she's taking over. Well, why not? I'll try anything once.

"I've never had more fun singing a lyric. Faith's reading is so loaded, and Leron's production and trumpet along with the band swings like crazy," he said.

Credits:

Iggy Pop - Vocal

Faith Vern - Additional Voice

Leron Thomas - Trumpet

Robin Sherman - Bass

Thomas Glass - Drums

Ari Teitel - Guitar

While "Free" follows the highest charting album of Iggy's career, 2016's Grammy-nominated "Post Pop Depression", it has virtually nothing in common sonically with its predecessor — or with any other Iggy Pop album. As The New York Times remarked upon hearing the title track: "Iggy Pop's 'Free' is brief, atmospheric and elusive. Amid sustained electronic tones from the guitarist Noveller and ghostly overdubbed Miles Davis-tinged trumpet lines from Leron Thomas, Pop's voice appears only a few times, intoning, 'I wanna be free.' As the title song and opening track of an album due in September, it could lead anywhere."

"Free" track listing:

01. Free

02. Loves Missing

03. Sonali

04. James Bond

05. Dirty Sanchez

06. Glow In The Dark

07. Page

08. We Are The People

09. Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night

10. The Dawn

There can be few better ways to mark the 20th anniversary of your band than releasing the finest record of your career. In Ram's instance, this comes in the form of The Throne Within, the Swedish quintet upping their game across the board to deliver a record with deep roots in classic heavy metal but wielding an energy and freshness to it that places it very much in the now.

"It is unmistakable Ram, there are fast songs, heavy songs, mid-tempo and slower tempos as well. There's melody and there's grit. The arrangements are recognizable but some may be unorthodox," states founding guitarist Harry Granroth.

"This is a monumental album for us, and I am certain for our fans. We have worked very hard to bring our sound, songwriting and playing to the next level without leaving our Black Path of Heavy Metal Tyranny," says vocalist Oscar Carlquist.

Unlike 2017's Rod, there is no concept unifying the lyrics, each song speaking for itself, and coming from dark places. Vocally, Oscar Carlquist delivers every line with his signature style, pushing himself to give the best possible performance - with Alan Averill of Primordial also appearing on "Ravnfell".

The Throne Within tracklisting:

"The Shadowwork"
"Blades Of Betrayal"
"Fang And Fur"
"Violence (Is Golden)"

DUFF MCKAGAN Releases Music Video For 'Don't Look Behind You'

GUNS N' ROSES bassist Duff McKagan has released a concert video for "Don't Look Behind You", captured during his recent sold-out show at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles.

"Don't Look Behind You" is featured on McKagan's critically acclaimed new solo album "Tenderness", which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart.

Produced by and featuring Grammy winner Shooter Jennings, the critically acclaimed album drew accolades from Entertainment Weekly, Spin, Consequence Of Sound, Chicago Tribune, LA Weekly, Guitar Player and many more, including Rolling Stone, which praised the album for being "more country-sounding than some mainstream Nashville releases joining it on record-store shelves."

Backed by Jennings and his band, McKagan embarked on a headlining North American tour, playing to packed-house crowds across the country. He also performed on NPR's World Café, was honored by the Seattle Mariners with a "Duff McKagan Night" at T-Mobile Park and was featured at the Grammy Museum in downtown Los Angeles.

Now he's taking the show overseas for a European tour that kicks off August 22 in Poland.

"Tenderness" sees McKagan reflecting on his experiences traveling the globe over two and a half years on GUNS N' ROSES' "Not In This Lifetime" tour. Encountering heartbreak, anger, fear, confusion and divide on his travels during this tumultuous time in our world history, McKagan channeled a collective hurt into songs of monolithic power.

McKagan has also created a campaign that puts the album's themes into action and he’s inviting fans to join him in an effort to give support to organizations doing great work. Those include Seattle's Union Gospel Mission, 320 Changes Direction and To Write Love On Her Arms, among others.

His European tour, which features Jennings and his band opening the show and then backing McKagan, kicks off August 22 in Warsaw.

DAMN YOUR EYES Announce Kill The Outside Debut; "Ascension" Video Streaming

New York-based heavy metal band Damn Your Eyes may seem new to the scene, but they are anything but green. The band - formed by former members of Harley Flanagan's Hard-Core, We Are The Enemy and Bonesmith, plus current members of Black Water Rising - came together in 2015 and immediately hit the ground running. As respected musicians in their local scene with extensive recording experience, the band quickly recorded an EP, released it to local acclaim, and rapidly returned to the studio to record their upcoming international full-length debut, Kill The Outside.

Kill The Outside will hit digital retailers everywhere in full on August 2, 2019, with pre-orders available beginning next week. Kill The Outside will be available in physical CD and vinyl formats upon release.

Damn Your Eyes isn't about clickbait or gimmicky metal. The band performs pure American heavy music - blending influences of ‘90s heavy metal with grunge, stoner metal and sludge to create a potent mixture of candid aggression.

Regarding "Ascension", guitarist Artie Alexander says: "I wrote this song while in a revolutionary state of mind. It's more or less about how I'm fed up with the nonsense going on in our government, and I also wanted it to parallel the feelings of the colonies - in a subtle way - that were tired of the nonsense they had to endure under British rule. Overtaxing, overspending, buying elections setting the conversation in their favor, etc. Patriots rise up against misrule. It's about not eating the garbage the government is feeding us and doing something about it. Taking the power back to the people."

Kill The Outside showcases a mixture of styles, making for a truly dynamic and emotive collection of tracks. In addition to the metal radio-ready "Ascension", mellow head-bobbers like "Burn" echo grunge and stoner metal influences, while standout track "Low Road" kicks off with a Type O Negative-esque intro riff before quickly transitioning to full-on antagonistic southern groove metal. Slow and low, grooving "Dirty Viper" tells the intense and personal story of a friend who committed suicide by heroin overdose. Tracks like "Punk Fuck" kick it up a notch, while another standout track, the heartfelt "Slower", brings the tempo down while telling the opposite story of "Dirty Viper" - an uplifting tale of wonderful results after making the decision to change oneself.

Artie Alexander adds: "In the bed of all of these songs lies personal experiences. Experiences that every person on this planet can identify with, having either lived through them themselves or watched someone they love go through them. The album is about being human and the images seen through our eyes. Moments of anger, frustration, sorrow, loss, redemption, hope, recovery, revenge, survival and healing."

Tracklisting:

“Ascension”
“Burn”
“Dirty Viper”
“Lions From Lambs”
“Low Road”
“Punk Funk”
“Slower”
“These Are The Things”
“Through It All”
“Tree Line”

Exclusive: JUSTIFY REBELLION Premiere “Act The Fool” Video

Danish rockers Justify Rebellion, who can considered a mix between Metallica and Volbeat, have premiered their new video for “Act The Fool” through BraveWords!

Their 2018 debut album Unleashing The Beast represents the surrounding problems and the critical factors which are to be found in the postmodern society which we are a part of. The band has managed to write an album full of material from those inspirations sources and the CD is with subjects as evilness, power struggle and superstition.

Their sound is inspired by the hard edge of the 80’s and the songs have a tiny touch and sometimes a strong mixture of heavy and thrash metal where the guitar sound is in focus with a powerful and hard vocal resounding to the thundering drums and bass to keep everything in order.

KXM Featuring KORN, KING'S X, Ex-DOKKEN Members: 'Lightning' Video

"Lightning", the new video from KXM, the band featuring bassist/vocalist Doug "dUg" Pinnick (KING'S X), guitarist George Lynch (LYNCH MOB, DOKKEN) and drummer Ray Luzier (KORN), can be seen below. The song is taken from KXM's upcoming third album, "Circle Of Dolls", which will be released on September 13 via Rat Pak Records in the U.S. and Frontiers Music Srl in Europe. The disc was recorded at Steakhouse Studio in North Hollywood, California with co-producer/engineer Chris Collier, who also helmed the group's first two releases.

"Circle Of Dolls" is currently available for pre-order via the Rat Pak web site in various bundle configurations, including turquoise-and-black splatter vinyl, cassette and hand-autographed CD packages.

Luzier comments: "There's a certain energy that happens in the studio very quickly when George, Doug and I get together and jam. This is our third record and it was recorded with the same formula as the first two albums — no pre-written ideas; we just come up with totally fresh grooves and riffs and not overthink anything. We definitely didn't repeat ourselves, but you know for sure who it is when you hear it. All three records have their own unique character."

Lynch explains: "It's better than the first two albums. It's insane. The magic is there, the chemistry's there and we're just sitting here patting ourselves on the back, telling each other what geniuses we are."

Pinnick adds: "I hope everyone enjoys listening to it as much as we enjoyed recording it."

From the infectious riff of the album opener "War Of Words" to the album finale of "The Border", KXM has yet again created something truly special and musically diverse. Songs like "Lightning", "Big As The Sun" and "Cold Sweats" are sonically different from each other taking the listener on a musical journey. "Circle Of Dolls" is a darker record, thematically, than KXM's first two albums and builds upon the band's established rock sound with thought-provoking lyrics, catchy guitar riffs and rock-solid grooves.

"Circle Of Dolls" track listing:

01. War Of Words

02. Mind Swamp

03. Circle Of Dolls

04. Lightning

05. Time Flies

06. Twice

07. Big As The Sun

08. Vessel Of Destruction

09. A Day Without Me

10. Wide Awake

11. Shadow Lover

12. Cold Sweats

13. The Border

14. War Of Words (Radio Edit) (bonus track on CD and download versions only)

KXM — which derives its name from a combination of its members' other projects (K from KORN, X from KING'S X and M from LYNCH MOB) — issued its self-titled debut in 2014. The 13-track follow-up, "Scatterbrain", was released in March 2017.

HAMMERFALL Releases Music Video For 'Dominion' Title Track

The official music video for "Dominion", the title track of the new album from Swedish metallers HAMMERFALL, can be seen below. The disc will be released on August 16 via Napalm Records. The clip was filmed and edited by Oliver Route.

For "Dominion", HAMMERFALL re-teamed with James Michael to do vocals at Red Level Three studios, and Fredrik Nordström of Studio Fredman at Castle Black Studios for the instruments on the powerful 12-song collection.

Guitarist Oscar Dronjak told Loud TV about "Dominion": "It's one of those things where you have time finally to perfect everything. We didn't really feel that for [2016's] 'Built To Last'. It was stressed, the songwriting part of it. This time, we really felt ready when we started recording, which I don't think has ever happened. All the songs were where they should be. We had time to go back and let them mature. That made it easier to record. We are in a place right now as a band where we feel it's fun. It's happy, fun, because everything sounds good when we play live."

He continued: "I don't think HAMMERFALL has ever sounded better live than we do right now. That feeling, that rush translated into the recording. I think that's what you can hear on it. The songs sound the way they do, they sound, I think they sound perfected, in a way that I don't think the other albums may have done. It's an energy that we didn't have before. We always try to recreate the energy, but it's difficult to actually do it."

He added: "One of the things that helped with that this time was the drumming of David [Wallin]. Because for 'Built To Last', he played more or less the demo drums that I laid out for him and didn't put his own stamp on it so much. But this time, his personality really shone through. I have to say for the first time I understood how great of a drummer he is. The drumming that makes David David is really good. It's a perfect fit for HAMMERFALL that way, too. He put a lot of his own personality into the fills and the songs this time as well, which is another benefit of being able to have the songs done already early and to be able to go and rehearse and record them as a rehearsal demo, basically, and to listen to them to see what we can do better and change to make the songs better."

The "Dominion" artwork was created by renowned visual artist Samwise Didier.

"Dominion" track listing:

01. Never Forgive, Never Forget

02. Dominion

03. Testify

04. One Against The World

05. (We Make) Sweden Rock

06. Second To One

07. Scars Of A Generation

08. Dead By Dawn

09. Battleworn

10. Bloodline

11. Chain Of Command

12. And Yet I Smile
