"Into The Night", the new video from Nordic epic metal masters SIRENIA, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's upcoming album, "Arcane Astral Aeons", which will be released on October 26 via Napalm Records. The follow-up to 2016's "Dim Days Of Dolor" marks the band's second LP to feature French vocalist Emmanuelle Zoldan, who replaced Spanish singer Ailyn Giménez García two years ago.
Commented leader Morten Veland: "We hope you guys enjoyed our second single, 'Into The Night'. We are happy to release the official video clip for this song today. Soon we will be back on the road performing material from our new album 'Arcane Astral Aeons'. Veland commented: "We are very pleased to present the artwork for our new album, 'Arcane Astral Aeons'. Once more we have worked with designer Gyula Havancsák to create an artwork that renders and adorns the heart and soul of our music.
"The album was recorded in Audio Avenue Studios (Norway) and Sound Suite Studios (France), while the mixing and mastering took place in Hansen Studios (Denmark) with mixing engineer Jacob Hansen.
"This album is something unique to us as it is the first one we have made together with our fans; everyone who have supported our pledge campaign has directly contributed to the funding of the album and to make it what it has turned out to be.
"We are very proud of what we have achieved together and we're very eager to share it with you, hoping that you all will find it as special as we do."
SIRENIA will embark on a European tour in November with support from fellow Norwegians TRIOSPHERE. SIRENIA will bring its epic melancholic symbiosis of orchestral opuses and raw heavy metal sounds to the U.K., France, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland and Italy.
Prior to the recording of "Dim Days Of Dolor", SIRENIA collaborated with Zoldan on choir vocals on all its albums except its 2002 debut, "At Sixes And Sevens". She also did some lead vocals on SIRENIA's cover version of Leonard Cohen's "First We Take Manhattan" on the 2004 EP "Sirenian Shores".
Emmanuelle told Femme Metal Webzine about her musical background: "I learned the piano when I was child, and I tried drums later, but I had to admit very fast that I was better in singing. So I began to sing in a pop/rock band as the lead singer. We made some really nice shows, and won some competitions. It was a really nice period of creativity and concerts we did in the same time we did our studies at the university. Then I decided to go the conservatory to learn a good vocal technique, and after some years of work and two years of specialization, I began a career… in opera. It was a bit unexpected, but life can be really strange sometimes. But during my operatic career, I never stopped doing a lot of other music projects, in different styles (rock, jazz, R&B), creating music, making concerts and recording metal albums for many bands, choirs parts and also lead vocals."
Released in 1997, "Defrosted" was the very first live album released by the Swiss hard rock band GOTTHARD. To this day, it is seen as a cult milestone in the group's career that helped establish GOTTHARD as the most successful band from Switzerland.
For more than 25 years, GOTTHARD has thrived in the global spotlight with a career that includes 16 No. 1 albums, over three million records sold, multiple awards and over 2,000 shows all over the planet. And now, 21 years after "Defrosted"'s release, the circle is completed as GOTTHARD returns to Sony Switzerland and Nuclear Blast with "Defrosted 2".
An ultimate compilation of unplugged versions of GOTTHARD's greatest hits, "Defrosted 2" was recorded this past March on the "Defrosted" tour. Even though the concept was the same as it was over 20 years ago — to capture the unique chemistry between the band and the fans — the circumstances that the band find themselves in are different. Both the band and their audience have grown, and yet after 25 years, it's the same unparalleled intimacy that GOTTHARD brings to its live performances that makes this record what it is.
After celebrating its "silver" anniversary with its latest studio album that set new chart records and saw GOTTHARD play shows at a number of prestigious festivals, "Defrosted 2" showcases 22 of the band's most iconic tracks as well as two brand new songs.
s soon as Leo Leoni, Freddy Scherer, Marc Lynn and Hena Habegger begin to play the first notes of the purest acoustic sound while vocalist Nic Maeder casually greets the audience in three different languages, even those who are new to GOTTHARD will soon feel at home. If you're not sold by this point, then the first chorus of the album's first track, the sensual and groovy "Miss Me", will serve as a stark reminder that the only important thing is the joy of live music. Andy Pupato is as faultless behind the kit as he was on the first "Defrosted", while Ernesto Ghezzi once again proves his talent as a live keyboard player and "The G-Strings" (the string quartet centered around Barbara Kubli), which performs live with GOTTHARD from time to time, provides a perfect dose of elegance. Newly appointed backing vocalists Maram El Dsoki and Barbara Comi's velvety soft vocals and radiant power give the band wings and imbue "Defrosted 2" with an exciting new charm.
Whether it's 1992's "Hush", the gilded "Heaven" from 2000, the "comeback single" "Remember It's Me" (issued after the tragic loss of original vocalist Steve Lee), the hard-rocking "Bang!" from the 2014 album of the same name, the tender "Beautiful" or the recent "Stay With Me", "Defrosted 2" is a well-paced journey through the years, including breathtaking solos, wild honky tonk interludes ("Sweet Little Rock 'N' Roller") and sincere declarations of love. And if you think you've heard everything after the wild trip through 25 years of classics, there are two new tracks on top. First, there's the mighty ballad "What I Wouldn't Give", which tears everything down in a powerful wave of emotion, and the party hit "Bye Bye Caroline", which is also the first single from "Defrosted 2". Lyrically inspired by STATUS QUO's 1973 hit "Caroline", the live opener of the U.K. rockers for 25 years, the track was created with Francis Rossi himself, who was also involved in contributing guitar and duet vocals. The song was spontaneously written backstage on the last "Rock Meets Classic" tour, when Francis, Leo and Nic sealed their new friendship directly by writing a new song together.
The video for "Bye Bye Caroline" — featuring Francis Rossi — can be seen below.
Due on December 7, "Defrosted 2" was produced by Leo Leoni in collaboration with Nicolo Fragile and, as usual, Charlie Bauerfeind was responsible for the mix. The double album, which will be released in the high-quality Ecolbook format and as a four-fold vinyl version worldwide on December 7, 2018, was further refined in the Wisseloord Studio in Hilversum, where legends like THE ROLLING STONES, U2 and the SCORPIONS have already worked and recorded.
TESLA's Frank Hannon has released the official music video for his cover of DEEP PURPLE's "Hush", taken from the second installment of his solo cover series, "From One Place… To Another Vol. 2". As with "Vol. 1", the album features a number of special guests, this time including Roger Fisher of HEART, Graham Whitford (son of AEROSMITH's Brad Whitford), Duane Betts (son of ALLMAN BROTHERS' Dickey), Randy Hansen and Jared James Nichols.
"This volume is definitely a step up for me as an artist," declares Hannon. "I chose to sing some of my favorite songs from very different genres ranging from AEROSMITH, Chaka Khan, BLACK SABBATH to Seal. I am proud of 'Volume 1' but 'Volume 2' came out a lot edgier and with some heavier tones."
While "Volume 1" was more roots and acoustic focused, "From One Place… To Another Vol. 2" is all electric with full backing band, recorded in various locations with a portable recorder and eventually assembled back in Hannon's home studio.
"As it turns out, singing is becoming a lot of fun for me," Hannon admits. "I've left the smoking guitar duties to some very special guests including the Jimi Hendrix tribute master Randy Hansen, HEART founder Roger Fisher, Jared James Nichols, as well as other guest artists who contributed flavors."
b>Randy Hansen and Roger Fisher have always been heroes of Frank's. "Known for his 'Magic Man' guitar sounds, Roger and I recorded a HEART classic 'Sing Child', which is almost as funky a song as the man himself," Frank says.
A chance meeting south of the border led to the recording of a classic AEROSMITH cut. "I ran into guitarist Graham Whitford in Mexico while on tour and asked him if he'd be interested in recording guitars on his dad's song and he graciously obliged," Frank says. "Six months later, we put it together via the Internet and 'Lord of the Thighs' became a highlight for me."
The biggest surprise of the album is Frank's take on Seal's "Kiss From A Rose". "It's a vocal melody that has haunted me for years," he says. "When I decided to record it, I spent weeks researching Seal and learned how he wrote the song with no instruments, using only his voice as the music background. This really opened my eyes and ears to the power of a vocal melody that drives a song and I recorded it similarly on my portable 8-track in a dressing room on tour."
"From One Place… To Another Vol. 2" track listing:
01. Hush (featuring Randy Hansen)
02. Lord Of The Thighs (featuring Graham Whitford)
03. You Can't Always Get What You Want (featuring Duane Betts)
Members of The Dillinger Escape Plan, Extol, and Sea + Air have joined creative forces as Azusa. The band's debut album, Heavy Yoke, will be released on November 16th via Solid State Records in North America.
A music video for the album's title track can be seen below. The band described the clip as the "abstract visual metaphor about habit loops, rewinding time, and loss of innocence. Aesthetically, we were imaging what it would look like if Jonathan Glazer directed an episode of Twin Peaks."
About the track itself, Azusa said, "The musical elements in 'Heavy Yoke' are constantly challenging the song's center line and balance point. While the acrobatic riffing insists on taking the tune off-track, the vocal lines add an anchoring sense of stability within the chaos. The opening riff is a precarious roller coaster and one of the more jarring, yet thrilling rides on the whole album. After the intro drop, the chorus catches you in a cushion of harmony, leaving you feeling secure and ready to take that ride again."
The band furthered, "Thematically, 'Heavy Yoke' deals with those unspeakable truths lurking in the subconscious mind. You can ignore them for a while, but sooner or later, they'll haunt you in the night. When you finally wake yourself up and let the daylight in, its healing powers reveal universal truths, which bring clarity and relief."
Azusa's music is a carnival of contrast - it's captivating with unconventional nerve. Uniting the complementary skills of its members, Azusa's sound is a thrash-fusion tour de force. Can you imagine Kate Bush fronting Slayer? Death collaborating with Annette Peacock? These allegedly incongruent influences dissolve seamlessly in an alluring sonic alchemy.
Uncompromisingly experimental, Azusa's curated approach showcases each member's unique strengths as a reaction to previous endeavours, more so than an extension of them. Reflecting on life's existential mysteries, Azusa's lyrics seek to explore cognitive dissonances at the crossroads of upbringing, mysticism, belief and betrayal. Defying expectations by embracing contradiction, Azusa finds strength in vulnerability, harmony in dissonance, and melody in discord.
The band commented on its debut, saying, "This album is special for all of us and we're currently feeling the same excited feelings we got before we debuted any of our previous efforts. We are really fortunate to have been able to create these songs together and to be able to share them with fans of our former and current bands, as well as new fans."
Azusa finished by stating, "It has been such a relief crafting music without having any outside expectations placed on us. Turning to creative playfulness with a more relaxed and intuitive approach to songwriting, we feel that this collection of songs will hold a unique space in the atmosphere of heavy music."

The official video for the song "Chainsaw Lullaby" from the demonic death metal supergroup BLOODBATH can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's upcoming fifth album, "The Arrow Of Satan Is Drawn", which will be released on October 26 via Peaceville.
Recorded by BLOODBATH and Karl Daniel Liden at Ghost Ward, City Of Glass and Tri-Lamb Studios during the first half of this foul year of our Lord, the album is the second with Nick Holmes (PARADISE LOST) on vocals. If 2014's "Grand Morbid Funeral" was a thick spray of deathly noise, on "The Arrow Of Satan Is Drawn", it is the rotten, fetid state of the world and our inevitable doom that is casting a looming shadow over proceedings. With world leaders threatening nuclear annihilation in 140 characters over social media, capitalism tearing itself apart, a wilful march into a surveillance state via handy pocket spying devices, a shifting climate that appears to literally be trying to kill us… It's all fuelled BLOODBATH's newest ode to filth.
"What are we presenting with this album? Humanity's unfaltering march prone towards downfall," declares guitarist Anders "Blakkheim" Nyström (KATATONIA). "The threat to this world isn't from far beyond the sun, the enemy is right here, within the walls. Only the god of emptiness will survive us all. The arrow of Satan is drawn!"
Right from the opening notes of the scything "Fleischmann", this sense of impending horror is carved into the music. The brutal "Wayward Samaritan" is anything but merciful, while "Deader" is a truly morbid workout, and "Morbid Antichrist" summons the spirits of those two classic death metal outfits perfectly. By the time things reach an atomic conclusion on the evil rock'n'roll of "Chainsaw Lullaby", you'll have been sucked into BLOODBATH's unholy world forever.
here's an extra nasty layer on "The Arrow Of Satan Is Drawn". This time, among the usual chainsaw riffs and blasts, the darkness of Blakkheim's words is also reflected in the addition of new guitarist Joakim Karlsson of Swedish black metal plague CRAFT. It's a step forward that's only given the band's already fearsome fangs extra rabid bite.
He's not the only extra face getting covered in gore. "Bloodicide" — quite literally meaning "The Killing Of Blood" — features a full house of British death metal guest stars, with CARCASS's Jeff Walker, BOLT THROWER/MEMORIAM singer Karl Willetts and CANCER's John Walker all lending their larynxes to the madness.
"It wasn't deliberately planned to be just british guests, but as it randomly turned out that way, it became a really cool feat!" laughs Blakkheim. "Nick [Holmes], Jeff, Karl and John are all legends respectively within the U.K. death metal scene and we're proud to bring them all together on our little old school soiree to tribute the days of old.
"There's no mitigating circumstances coming your way any time soon," he adds. "The world is a mad place full of darkness, horror, disease and terror! Hell on Earth is real and not just limited to fiction. The dark ages transcend all frontiers, ever present but yet unseen."

Frontiers Music Srl has announced the release of Ride To Nowhere, the third studio album by Inglorious, on January 25th. The debut single from the album, “Where Are You Now?”, is released today. Watch a video for the song below.
In amongst their touring commitments, Inglorious spent 2018 writing and recording their third studio album, Ride To Nowhere. A much darker, more reflective album than their previous releases, the new songs further hone the Inglorious sound - the pulsating rhythms, driving guitars and infectious vocal melodies.
“This album is different in many ways. The songs came about very quickly. As with all our songs we start with a riff, and this time having new guitarist Drew added a new and heavier feel to a couple of songs. We wrote the basics mostly together all in one room on acoustic guitars and then I went away and crafted the stories I wanted to tell. For me this album is very personal. I am for the first time writing about a lot of my feelings, relationships and losses...” - Nathan James
“On this album I feel that the songs are a true reflection of what we’ve been through over the past few years - both as a band and as individuals. You’ve got the highs, the lows and lessons learned along the way. The making of this album was at a time when we all had our own personal situations and changes to deal with. I feel that this definitely comes through on the recordings and particularly songs like ‘Tomorrow’, ‘Where Are You Now?’ and ‘Glory Days”. - Colin Parkinson
The recording of Ride To Nowhere involves for the first time new guitarist Drew Lowe, who says, “The album is the next step for the band in maturity. Being that it's my first, I wasn't sure what to expect, but as soon as we started we knew what type of record was coming. Hopefully the fans will love it as they follow us on the musical journey.”
From the body blow riffs of the first single “Where Are You Now?”, to the beautiful melodies and bluesy overtones of “I Don’t Know You,” from the assault of “Freak Show” to the acoustic ballad “Glory Days”, Ride To Nowhere is an absolute gem of an album, showing not only all the influences from iconic rock albums of the 70’s, but also offering the band’s own sound and interpretation. As with Inglorious “II”, the album was mixed by the legendary Kevin Shirley (Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith).
“There’s a lot of variety on this album, more so than the previous ones and that I really like. Sonically I think it sounds more fresh, contemporary in a sense and that goes for a bunch of songs on the album as well. Just the singles alone are different than how we’ve sounded in the past, but still have the Inglorious feel and vibe! Lastly I also think that musically it’s better than the previous albums, everyone plays very tasteful, soulful and collectively I feel that it’s perfect!” - Andreas Eriksson
“We’re all really happy with the way the new record sounds and look forward to seeing how the fans receive it. I personally can’t wait to play the new material live on the road!”- Phil Beaver
The album will be released on CD, Limited Edition Box Set (CD + T-shirt “L" size), Vinyl, Limited Edition Crystal Vinyl - exclusive to Frontiers online shop, Limited Edition White Vinyl - exclusive to the Inglorious online shop.
All vinyls are gatefold sleeve.

Montreal prog quartet Fractal Cypher are premiering their first single and music video "From The Above And To The Stars”. The track is off the band's upcoming mini-album Prelude To An Impending Outcome due out this coming November.
"This is the heaviest song on the record, it's got lots of heavy guitar riffs, it has a djenty vibe that is quite obvious all the way through. This track was influenced a bit from what we did on our past 'The Human Paradox' in terms of the balance between heavy riffs and melodies. On the lyrical aspect, the main topic of the track is about sci-fi stuff, talking about the possibilities of the existence of another civilization in the universe. We made the music relate to the lyrics in terms of chords choices and sonority." - Fractal Cypher
Each track has a different prominent genre influence from power ballad, blues, djent and jazz with the band’s heavy and melodic base as an anchor. The album artwork was done by Silent Q Design out of Montreal and foreshadows the moody and existential prog metal that lies within. Although this album is more intimate with different textures and influences, the reception to its predecessor should be a prime indication of the talents of Fractal Cypher; this next release is sure to be a masterwork.

Italian grindcore legends Cripple Bastards celebrate 30 years of misanthropic extremity with their seventh full-length album, La Fine Cresce da Dentro (meaning: “The End Is Growing From Within”). The album is due out November 9th on CD/LP/Digital. Physical pre-orders are available via Relapse.com here and digital downloads / streaming services here.
The band have released a video for the new single, "Passi Nel Vuoto". Vocalist Giulio The Bastard says, "The song 'Passi Nel Vuoto' (translated to 'Steps Into The Void') is a parallel between the annihilation of the individual lost in the most obtuse massification, induced to waste and sedated in his emotions, and the value of life increasingly low - reduced to being a cog in the consumer machine. The graphics of our new album La Fine Cresce Da Dentro are all unreleased pictures taken from the vaults of a crime magazine that existed from the 1950s through the '90s, accessed from the archives of the criminal police based in Milano, Italy. In making this video we have chosen to alternate similar photos with scenarios of mass stratification and blind conformism. As the lyrics say, 'What's left is desolation / but it doesn't make sense to realize it / it's the weight of survival: how much you spend / how much you can cost'."
Stream two more tracks, “Non Coinvolto” and “La Memoria Del Dolore”, below. Both are available on all streaming services here.
Recorded at the legendary Fredman Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden with producer Fredrik Nordström (At The Gates, Dark Tranquility), La Fine Cresce da Dentro is eighteen tracks of inconceivable speed and brutality surpassing even their previous work. Over three decades in, Cripple Bastards are showing no signs of slowing down and continue to destroy unsuspecting eardrums with hate-filled, grind punk chaos.

Unleashing their second EP II unto the world through their own independent label Old Haunt Records this past July, Creatures are kicking it "Old Style F.A." with their new video. The video was filmed during the band's hometown show in Toronto at the Bovine while they were on their Ontario tour this past summer.
The band explains the track:
"This song is a light-hearted story about a typical Friday night going out with your friends. Starting from the pre-drink at your house to hitting up the bar and ending up in a fight to back your friend up."
Spawned in the Toronto murk in 2015, Creatures is a group effort with a long history that intertwines the lives of numerous local bands to summon a truly devastating soundscape of unbridled chaos. Inspired by bands such as Necrophagist, Despised Icon and Thy Art Is Murder, Creatures is a band playing heavy and catchy deathcore, taking intense sounds and mixing in small elements of extreme and black metal.
Their latest effort II reaches into a large porcelain cup of topics. Instead of just merely presenting their themes to their listeners Creatures smashes the grail in their faces making sure their themes cut deep and stay with them. Whether they are lyrics about the futility of existence with a cartoon metaphor, or the bond of brotherhood within an intense party setting, there is a message for everyone to latch onto. Regardless, the songs are a visceral insight into the band’s life.
U.K. groove/thrash band Hostile has released a video for “Retribution”.
Hostile is groove thrash band hailing from the West Midlands U.K., the birthplace of heavy metal. Their debut album Eve Of Destruction, as well as their sophomore album were produced by the legendary K.K. Downing of Judas Priest and were both well received by the press. Hostile toured their debut album all over Europe supporting bands such as Machine Head, Soulfly and Hatebreed - and more recently Megadeth at Moscow's live Stadium - going down a storm at every tour. The band is currently planning to release a handful of singles as well as embark on an Eastern Europe tour in 2019.
Montreal, Quebec, Canada-based melodic death metallers KATAKLYSM have released a new music video for the song "…And Then I Saw Blood". The band explored a new creative and artistic side when its hired acclaimed Romanian visionary artist Costin Chioreanu to tell the story of the song. The clip chronicles a post-apocalyptic world dominated by A.I. Two dying brothers are brought to a facility where their minds are uploaded into a digital virtual world dominated and controlled by oppressors of mankind. As hope appears to defy the system in place, the two brothers are forced to make a decision to either follow their human instinct or their new found conscious.
KATAKLYSM frontman Maurizio Iacono comments: "'…And Then I Saw Blood' can be interpreted in many different ways as it has an open concept to it. Everyone can see it the way they want but we wanted an animated video done with an artistic flair. Costin was the perfect artist to do it. I told him the central theme of the track deals with the betrayal of two close friends. I asked him to bring in his own world on how he envisioned the song and theme. Costin totally out did himself in this futuristic but realistic interpretation of where we are headed as people continue to get absorbed by technology and this urge to create something bigger, stronger, and more intelligent in this obsession to become godlike."
"…And Then I Saw Blood" is taken from KATAKLYSM's latest album, "Meditations", which was released on June 1 via Nuclear Blast. The 10-song disc was produced by the band's guitarist Jean-François Dagenais and drummer Oli Beaudoin, and was mixed by Jay Ruston (ANTHRAX, STONE SOUR). Mastering duties were handled by Paul Logus (PANTERA).
The "Meditations" cover artwork was created for Ocvlta Designs by Surtsey, who also crafted the artwork for KATAKLYSM's previous record, "Of Ghosts And Gods".

Juno award-winning metallic noise rock band, KEN mode, have released a video for "Learning To Be Too Cold", a track from their seventh studio album, Loved, out now New Damage Records in Canada and Season Of Mist in Europe. Order here, and watch the video below.
Loved, which follows KEN mode’s critically acclaimed and Juno nominated 2015 release Success, represents yet another pivot point in the group’s sound. Moving away from the indie/noise, punk focused tracks on Success, Loved sees the band delving deeper and darker than ever before, resulting in what may be the group’s quintessential statement of violence and despair made sonic.
Drawing from not only the desperate noise and industrial sonics of the 80’s and 90’s, on Loved, KEN mode has mixed in the decidedly more extreme tone and presence of death and black metal, expertly captured by producer Andrew Schneider’s (Unsane, Cave In, Daughters) sick vision of noise and girth. “We entered writing for this album with one goal in mind – to please the smile”, states Matthewson, referring to the album cover piece by the band’s long-time collaborator Randy Ortiz – see below.

Singer Andy B. Franck was over the moon when contacting BraveWords.com about the success of Midnight Ghost. "Heard the news? We have entered the official German Album Charts at position #25! Oh man... I am so proud! So so proud! This is a dream came true!"
Prior to the proclamation, the band wrapped up a quick string of dates, in their homeland and will now focus on the upcoming six-country trek, kicking off in January 2019.
War Of Thrones, featuring former members of Crimson Glory and Rob Rock, have released a new music video, “Say What”, from their debut album. The album, Conflict In Creation, hit stores worldwide in March 2018 via Sonic Night Music Club.
Forged in steel, War Of Thrones was formed when iconic vocalist Wade Black and virtuoso guitarist Rick Renstrom joined forces in 2012. Previously, the two had worked together in Leash Law releasing Dogface in 2005.
Wade is no stranger to metal. For more than two decades, Wade has thrilled audiences worldwide fronting such legendary metal bands as Crimson Glory, Seven Witches, and Leatherwolf. Rick entered the scene in 2000, joining legendary vocalist Rob Rock's touring and recording band. Having toured around the world, hundreds of thousands have witnessed Rick’s incredible and inspiring guitar playing. Joining Wade and Rick is bass player Rich Marks (Vivaldi Metal Project) who delivers a booming low end and virtuosic moving lines along with former Yngwie Malmsteen drummer Patrick Johansson behind the drum kit.
War Of Thrones continues to thrill audiences live as they share the stage with bands such as Kamelot, Drowning Pool, Marty Friedman, Anvil and Mushroomhead.
The Conflict In Creation album was mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Halford, Armored Saint, Faith No More) at Maor Appelbaum Mastering in California, and recorded and mixed by James Fox at Sweet Spot Studio in Florida.
Founding KISS guitarist and Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Ace Frehley has released the official music video for his new single, "Rockin' With The Boys". The clip was filmed on August 18 at the Motor City Muscle Music Festival in Detroit, Michigan.
"Rockin' With The Boys" is the second song Frehley has made available from his forthcoming all-new "Spaceman" album, due October 19 via Entertainment One (eOne). Frehley previously released the track "Bronx Boy" in April.
"Spaceman", Frehley's eighth solo LP, features nine new original tracks, including a cover of Eddie Money's "I Wanna Go Back", a ripping power pop makeover of the original.
"No need to worry, I'll be home soon, 'cause I'm rockin' with the boys," Frehley sings on "Rockin' With the Boys", which tells the tales of life on the road. Ace says he wrote the original version of the song back in KISS's heyday in the '70s. Both "Rockin With The Boys" and "Bronx Boys" are available on all streaming platforms today, and are iTunes instant-grat tracks for fans who preorder the album.
n addition to Ace's distinctive guitar sound on each track, Ace played bass on all of the songs on "Spaceman" except for two. The listener might recognize the mighty dinosaur growl of a bass tone belonging to Gene Simmons on the album opener, "Without You I'm Nothing", which Gene also co-wrote, and "Your Wish Is My Command". Both songs were recorded at Frehley's home studio in Rancho Santa Fe, California.
Ace's reconnection with Simmons and fellow KISS vocalist-guitarist Paul Stanley (who joined Ace on a cover of FREE's "Fire And Water" for 2016's covers LP "Origins, Vol. 1") might be chalked up to the fact that Frehley has been sober for more than a decade (he celebrates 12 years of sobriety in September). Ace's clean living no doubt has a lot to do with his productive streak, which began with the release of his top 20 "Anomaly" album in 2009.
"Spaceman" (a title suggested by Simmons himself) serves as the first collection of all new Frehley-penned material since 2014's "Space Invader", which debuted at No. 9 on the Top 200 chart. The LP scored the highest=charting position of any former or current KISS bandmember ever and marked Frehley's first return to the Top 10 since KISS's 1998 "Psycho Circus" reunion album.
Widely known as the original "Space Ace" and founding guitarist for 16 cumulative years (over two tenures) of the multi-platinum selling rock band KISS, Frehley is arguably the most popular original member. In addition to having the best-selling solo album career (vintage or current) among the original foursome, Frehley's self-titled "Ace Frehley", released in 1978, went on to sell over one million copies, producing the only Top 40 single, "New York Groove", from any of the legendary KISS solo albums (peaking at #13).
Fresh off an electrifying performance at the Aftershock festival over the weekend, where singer Spencer Chamberlain performed while still nursing a still-healing broken foot that he sustained during the band's appearance at Riot Fest, UNDERØATH has released the cinematic and thematically arresting video for "ihateit".
"The 'ihateit' video is a glimpse into what it's like to feel alienated, to need something you shouldn't need, to feel trapped and isolated and to feel like you have to keep returning to that place to find solace — it's a vicious cycle," said UNDERØATH's Aaron Gillespie.
The band is gearing up to hit the road on its "Erase Me" tour with DANCE GAVIN DANCE, CROWN THE EMPIRE and THE PLOT IN YOU in tow. The trek marks UNDERØATH's first major market headline tour in support of their new album, "Erase Me" (Fearless Records), which recently debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart. The tour finds UNDERØATH returning to many markets they previously sold out on their incredibly successful "Rebirth" tour.
"Erase Me" was written and recorded over the summer of 2017 with producer Matt Squire (PANIC! AT THE DISCO, 3OH!3) and mixed by Ken Andrews (FAILURE, JIMMY EAT WORLD).
THE SMASHING PUMPKINS have released a music video for their current single, "Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts)". Directed by Billy Corgan and longtime visual collaborator Linda Strawberry, the clip is a beautifully crafted riff on cult horror movie conventions. The video sees Corgan, James Iha, Jimmy Chamberlin and Jeff Schroeder challenged to spend the night in a haunted house as part of a macabre Halloween promotion hosted by smarmy radio host Jackie Cherry (played by SUGAR RAY's Mark McGrath). Mixing pop culture references with the band's ubiquitous visual flair, the video for "Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts)" stands alongside some of THE SMASHING PUMPKINS' most arresting work.
The video release follows the recent announcement of the band's upcoming 30th-anniversary live shows, which kick off November 28 at The Sylvee in Madison, Wisconsin.
The quartet is touring in support of their highly-anticipated new LP, "Shiny And Oh So Bright, Vol. 1 / LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun.", which will be released on November 16 on Billy Corgan's own Martha's Music under exclusive license to Napalm Records via a strategic worldwide partnership. Recorded at Shangri La Studios with legendary producer Rick Rubin, the LP is the band's first in over 18 years to feature founding members Corgan, Iha, Chamberlin, with longtime guitarist Jeff Schroeder.
Earlier this summer, the newly reformed lineup shared the first glimpse of their new music with the LP's lead single "Solara". The track's dreamlike music video was directed by Nick Koenig and expands on the theatrics of the band's catalog of iconic music videos. The release of "Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts)" came next, along with a lyric video featuring Corgan's handwritten lyrics. In the coming weeks, the quartet is expected to release a music video for the track, directed by Corgan.
ast month, THE SMASHING PUMPKINS wrapped their monumental "Shiny And Oh So Bright Tour", which sold over 300,000 tickets across North America and sold-out arenas, including The Forum, United Center, and Madison Square Garden. Produced by Live Nation, the tour was the band's first in nearly two decades to feature Corgan, Chamberlin and Iha, alongside Schroeder, bassist Jack Bates and keyboardist Katie Cole.
Formed in Chicago, Illinois in 1988, THE SMASHING PUMPKINS released their heralded debut album, "Gish", in 1991 and found mainstream success with 1993's four-times-multi-platinum "Siamese Dream" and 1995's 10-times-platinum "Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness".
