"Collide", the new video from BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION the Anglo-American rock group comprising vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, TRAPEZE), drummer Jason Bonham (LED ZEPPELIN, FOREIGNER), Derek Sherinian (DREAM THEATER, ALICE COOPER, BILLY IDOL) and blues-rock guitarist/vocalist Joe Bonamassa, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's long-awaited and highly anticipated fourth album, "BCCIV", which will be released on September 22 via Mascot Records. This is the band's first studio album since 2013's "Afterglow".
Just like its three predecessors, "BCCIV" was overseen by Kevin Shirley, whose catalogue of hit records for LED ZEPPELIN, IRON MAIDEN, AEROSMITH, JOURNEY and THE BLACK CROWES has made him one of the hottest producers that rock music has to offer. Shirley, who originally had the idea of putting Hughes and Bonamassa in a band after seeing them jamming together onstage in Los Angeles back in November 2009, is the group's unofficial ‘fifth member’.
BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION is an earth-shattering combination of American and British rock influences — a bona fide super group that conveys to the world a simple but important message: classic rock is alive and well, and in good hands in the 21st century. Their communion together forms something that is greater than the sum of its parts, creating a legacy being cemented within the halls of music history.
The initiative for the new album came from Joe Bonamassa, who contacted the band in 2016 to see if they would be up for going back into the studio to write and record a fourth album.
Says Joe: "I just felt the time was right for BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION to go back into the studio and write and record a new album. When I contacted Glenn, Derek and Jason, they immediately agreed to give it shot. The timing was right."
During October 2016, when news first broke about the band getting back together, things on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, started blowing up and fan reaction was overwhelming. It was clear to see that BCC fans were hungry for another album. "BCCIV" is destined to become one of the biggest hard rock albums of 2017.
BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION's inception took place when frontman and bass guitarist Glenn Hughes and Joe Bonamassa fused their styles on stage in Los Angeles in November 2009 for an explosive performance at Guitar Center's King Of The Blues event. With the help and guidance of producer Kevin Shirley, they further added to their rock lineage by recruiting drummer Jason Bonham and keyboardist Derek Sherinian.
Taking their name from the industrial area in Britain, and the birthplace of both Hughes and Bonham, BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION released their self-titled debut album in 2010, and with that, unleashed their brand of take-no-prisoners hard rock to a world thirsting for music with substance.
Following the release of another two studio albums, 2011's well-received "Black Country Communion 2" and 2012's equally impressive "Afterglow", plus a smoldering live CD released in 2011, "Live Over Europe", the band has firmly established themselves as one of hard rock's premier acts. The band took a hiatus in 2013 and focused on their successful solo careers.
BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION has cultivated a reputation not only as amazing songwriters, but as a powerful live act, is only exceeded by their dedication to their craft, and a willingness to challenge and motivate each other to make the best music they can.
Now, seven years on from its inception, Bonamassa feels the time is right to bring the original BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION lineup back for album No. 4.
"We had around four months to write this album, and I think the results speak for themselves," comments Glenn Hughes. "All four of us wanted to make a record that stood up to the first three albums. However, the new album is more of a progression, as we wanted to be careful not to repeat the previous albums. A lot has happened since we last recorded the 'Aferglow' album in 2013, so, in many ways, the new album shows BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION with a much harder, riffier and bigger and bolder sound. If you're looking for a folk album, this ain't the one."
The band assembled to record "BCCIV" at Cave Studios in Los Angeles in December 2016. The album was mixed at Cave Studios in Sydney in March 2017. The songs on "BCCIV" will appeal to all fans of high quality hard rock, also those that admire singers of distinction. Hughes is not known as The Voice of Rock for nothing.
In terms of content, "BCCIV" expands upon the progression that took place between the first three albums. With an abundance of heavy riffs, undeniable hooks, melodic flair and infectious choruses, "BCCIV" is a spectacular album that gets bigger and bolder with repeated spins.
"I wanted the new album to physically shake your soul. It’s a wake-up call." explains Hughes.
All songs on the new album were co-written by Glenn Hughes and Joe Bonamassa. Glenn wrote all the lyrics on the album except for the song "The Last Song For My Resting Place", which was written by Joe.
"BCCIV" track listing: 01. Collide (4:07)02. Over My Head (4:06)03. The Last Song For My Resting Place (7:57)04. Sway (5:24)05. The Cove (7:11)06. The Crow (6:00)07. Wanderlust (8:18)08. Love Remains (4:53)09. Awake (4:42)10. When The Morning Comes (7:56)11. With You I Go (bonus track on vinyl edition only)
The first single taken from the new album will be "Collide". BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION has announced two exclusive concerts in Europe during January 2018 to support of "BCCIV". The band will play Wolverhampton Civic Hall on Tuesday, January 2 and London Hammersmith Apollo on Thursday, January 4. These will be the only two concerts the band will play in Europe.
"Echolocation", the new video from GONE IS GONE, the new project featuring MASTODON's Troy Sanders, AT THE DRIVE-IN's Tony Hajjar, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE's Troy Van Leeuwen and guitarist-keyboardist Mike Zarin, can be seen below. The song is the title track of GONE IS GONE's debut album, which was released in January via their imprint label Black Dune Records in partnership with Rise Records/BMG.
"The video is inspired by Gibsonton, Florida, the famous wintering and retirement home of traveling sideshow carnies," says Sanders. "That's the backdrop for this cautionary tale about two punks out on an adventure ride. Through a series of events, the mischievous energy they exert returns full circle, eventually leading to their own demise." The "Echolocation" video stars Sanders (in dual roles, playing "The Freak Show Barker" and "The Italian Crooner") and Zarin (as "The Parasitic Twin Bartender") and was written, produced, directed and edited by Newmerica Media and filmed at Silver Scream FX Lab studios in Conley, Georgia. "Without the magic of Newmerica Media and Silver Scream FX Lab, this video would never have seen the light of day," says Sanders. "They did an incredible job." "Troy came up with the initial concept," says Newmerica director Bryan Bankovich. "Then we met with him for deviled eggs and whiskey to refine his vision. We had so many talented people working together to make this epic concept come to life. Production designer and art director Shane Morton and his team were instrumental in making this video a reality. He was in charge of all the ridiculous props, SFX, and creatures you see on screen. And fun fact: Troy's two kids and wife are characters in the video, playing the wolf boy, orphan girl, and soothsayer, respectively." Hailed by Clash as "a crisp, compact document, one laced with energy and sweeping songwriting," "Echolocation" was produced by the band and mixed by Ken Andrews (BECK, A PERFECT CIRCLE). The quartet was formed by Zarin and Hajjar, who previously collaborated on various film trailer projects for Sencit, Zarin's music production, licensing and supervision company. Together they've put together a wildly diverse sound production resume that includes trailers for the Internet-breaking television series "Stranger Things", Christopher Nolan's 2010 sci-fi thriller "Inception", multi-Emmy-winning television series "Game Of Thrones" and the Marvel Comics blockbuster film "X-Men Apocalypse", to name but a few. They brought in Troy Van Leeuwen, known for his work with QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, FAILURE, A PERFECT CIRCLE, EAGLES OF DEATH METAL and SWEETHEAD, who in turn, brought in Sanders from multi-Grammy nominees MASTODON. GONE IS GONE's roots are so unique, that their development comes from that creative, still-burgeoning zone where music, film and multimedia joyfully collide in the studio. "We're not beholden to record-tour-record-tour," says Zarin. "For us, it's write-record-experiment-write-record-experiment. We're laying the groundwork to do different things. Whether it's scoring a film, or just creating a tool kit for a filmmaker to use within their film, or an interactive experience. There are a lot of music artists that work with visual artists in a gallery space where they have audio and visuals connected. And we want to bring that with everything we do."
GONE IS GONE made its live debut in April 2016 at the Dragonfly in Los Angeles and completed a handful of dates in July 2016.
Melodic hard rock band, Ten, have released the fourth single and second music video from their brand new (13th) studio album, Gothica, which was released on July 7th. Inspired by Robert Luis Stevenson’s classic science gothic novel Strange Case Of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde (1886), “Jekyll And Hyde” is a classic rock track, which lyrics describe Mr. Hyde’s search for his next victim in the dark streets, lit only by the light of the moon. Watch the video below.
Gothica was produced by Gary Hughes and mixed and mastered by Dennis Ward. Ten’s longstanding professional association with Dennis has been ongoing since he mixed their 2011 album, Stormwarning.
Additionally, the album features stunning original artwork by Stan W. Decker, depicting a beautiful enchantress reading incantations from a book whilst summoning shadowy characters from its pages. Stan has cleverly illustrated the piece in order to portray the characters emerging from the books pages as the actual characters from the songs on the album. The atmospheric sleeve photography is once again provided by the remarkably talented Adrian Ashworth.

British rockers ENTER SHIKARI will release their new album, "The Spark", on September 22.
The official video for the first single from the disc, "Live Outside", can be seen below.
"The Spark" is an ambitious, inspiring piece of work that poignantly reflects their legendary career rise to have become one of the biggest and most exciting bands the U.K. has ever seen. Following four seminal albums, of which three have been Top 10 overseas, "The Spark" is produced by David Kosten (EVERYTHING EVERYTHING, BAT FOR LASHES), and is SHIKARI's most melodic and personal album to date; a soundtrack to our tumultuous world, a record for everyone who's filled with frustration but hasn't lost the capacity for hope. "The spark is a new connection, a new beginning," says maverick frontman Rou Reynolds. "It can be short and insignificant, but it can create something so significant. The spark is that light at the end of the tunnel — when everything seems to be falling apart, but you’re able to see some sort of path out of the dark."
In 2015, the ground started to fall from under Rou Reynolds's feet. He had been having occasional panic attacks for years, but hadn't put a name to the problem until that brutal summer. Frayed by touring and heavy professional expectations, he started self-medicating, which backfired massively. The world was also spinning on its axis. Brexit. Trump. Terrorism. The steady dismantling of the NHS. The biting effects of austerity. The kind of social issues that have been ENTER SHIKARI's lifeblood for almost a decade now. "The Spark" track listing:

ENTER SHIKARI's only announced U.S. show will take place on Saturday, September 30 at an all-ages matinee album release party happening at Brooklyn's Rough Trade (64 N. 9th St. Brooklyn, NY 11211). Entry is limited to those who preorder "The Spark" in the store.
STEELHEART — the brainchild of Miljenko Matijevic, whose powerful voice and multi-octave range is the heart and soul of the band — will release its new album, "Through Worlds Of Stardust", on September 15 via Frontiers Music Srl. The official video for the second single from the disc, "You Got Me Twisted", can be seen below.
Says Miljenko: "I cannot express how excited I am for you all to hear this new album. Our focus was to bring back the magic in the music with songs that have been lived, loved, laughed and struggled. I best describe this album as 'deep, sexy, loving, twisted, romantic, and hungry rock 'n' roll.' The record was recorded throughout parts of the world, including a live string section recorded in Stockholm, Sweden. I truly hope you enjoy this album as it was created from the heart and no corners were cut. Love you all; we look forward to seeing you on the road." Although they were lumped in with the glut of long-haired hard rock bands emerging in the early '90s, STEELHEART was always more forward thinking than their peers and the 2017 version of the band has a contemporary and edgy feel, while still retaining the patented powerful vocals of Miljenko. On "Through Worlds Of Stardust", Miljenko has fused his past, present, and future together, creating an undeniable piece of hard rock music. Certainly fans of the band's first three classic albums will be happy to hear those powerful pipes back in action, but fans of modern hard rock acts like HALESTORM, SHINEDOWN, ALTER BRIDGE and other melodic-minded rock heavyweights will find much here to love. STEELHEART released their self-titled debut album in 1990 and, based on the buzz around the hit single "I'll Never Let You Go", was a smashing success (for example, 33,000 albums were sold in one day in Japan) and quickly reached platinum sales. STEELHEART's sophomore album, "Tangled In Reins", was released in 1992 to critical acclaim and rave reviews, but moderate success in terms of sales in the U.S. (by early '90s standards) due to the well documented rise of grunge music; however, East Asia was a different story, where the band was widely embraced yet again. In the midst of promotion of the album, a serious accident happened on Halloween night in 1992, when an improperly secured lighting truss hit Matijevic on the back of the head, breaking his nose, cheekbone, jaw, and twisting his spine. Almost impossibly, Matijevic managed to walk off the stage of his own strength before being rushed to a hospital. STEELHEART, as it was known, ended that night. Four years later, Matijevic formed a new version of STEELHEART with Kenny Kanowski (guitars), Vincent Mele (bass), and Alex Makarovich (drums) to record and release his third album, "Wait". The album was very different musically from the previous two albums, but featured the song "We All Die Young" (millions of streams and counting on Spotify) which was later included as a re-recorded version in the movie "Rock Star", which saw Matijevic providing the singing voice for Mark Wahlberg's character. The movie soundtrack was performed by Matijevic (and Jeff Scott Soto) on vocals along with Zakk Wylde (Ozzy Osbourne's then-guitarist and frontman of BLACK LABEL SOCIETY), Jeff Pilson (DOKKEN, FOREIGNER), and Jason Bonham. Canada's ragga-metal kings Zeroscape have released the video for their new single "Lies Out, Lights Out". The song will be featured on their new album Finish Dem, due to be released September 12th via Boonsdale (Canada) / Bad Reputation (international).
Frontman Binski comments:
"Zeroscape never really officially ended. We just took a break, so when we came back it was like we never missed a beat. The stuff where we left off from, the music we were writing, it's just more enhanced. It's way tighter because we grew naturally into our sound. We're gonna record the sound that we made, that is ours. The sound that's gonna take over."
A video for “Hunter Of The Heart”, a track from Swedish hair metal outfit Crazy Lixx’ new studio album, Ruff Justice, is available for streaming below.
The new record, released back in April, celebrates Crazy Lixx’s 15th anniversary as a band and offers 10 hair/sleaze/80s metal gems that harken back to the height of the hard rock era. The new songs draw inspiration from not only music, but also from 1980’s horror and action flicks and stand as a glowing reminder that pretty much everything was better in the 80s. With its big choruses, memorable hooks and riffs, impressive guitar solos, and a massive production by Danny Rexon and Chris Laney, this album is sure to resonate with old fans and new listeners alike.
Ruff Justice is the first Crazy Lixx album to feature the new lineup with Chrisse Olsson and Jens Lundgren handling axe duties.

Bay Area rock outfit, Black Map, have debuted an all new music video for their track "Ruin”, from their In Droves album, released earlier this year.
"The lyrics are from the perspective of someone who thinks they see the world collapsing around them," says vocalist/bassist Benjamin Flanagan, "and wondering the whole time what the true nature of their reality is."
The video was directed by Frank Door and the second video we've seen from the power trio's new LP.
Flanagan continues, "When we shot the video it was important to have something with tension and unnerving to match the subject matter of the song. We shot the footage all in one long day at Mt. Davidson in San Francisco. The actor is a 6-year old kid Frank found who got to run around the woods wielding an axe in a giant custom crow mask. This video will probably mark the only time in our career you will ever see anyone in Black Map wearing make up."
Black Map released In Droves back in March via Entertainment One (eOne). The band has been steadily touring all summer on headliner dates, festival dates and support dates on the Chevelle tour. Black Map recently performed a highlighted set at Chicago Open Air earlier this month, and will perform at Rock Allegiance, Louder Than Life, Houston Open Air and Aftershock festivals scheduled for later this year.
Florida metallers TRIVIUM have released the official music video for their new song "The Sin And The Sentence". The track, which has also been made available for purchase as a digital single through online retailers, marks the band's first recording with drummer Alex Bent (BATTLECROSS, DECREPIT BIRTH), who joined TRIVIUM in late 2016.
Asked why it has been so difficult for TRIVIUM's core trio — guitarist Corey Beaulieu and bassist Paolo Gregoletto and guitarist/vocalist Matt Heafy — to keep a drummer in the last few years, Paolo told Germany's Grasser Production this past March: "I don't know. Alex is touring with us right now, and we're not rushing into anything. We wanna make sure he likes the situation, he likes the songs. We're having fun touring with him, he's an incredible drummer, and once we get done with the touring, we'll see what happens next. The other guys, we just rushed into every situation, so we're not making the same mistake for a fifth time. We decided to learn from our lessons, which is give it some time, tour with the dudes, see how they actually are on tour, 'cause that exposes a lot about people's personalities and playing. And we're just kind of taking it as we go. Matt, Corey and I have been doing it for so long, we have a set way we like to do things. We're very demanding of each other and of ourselves and our playing and how we are on tour, and we expect nothing less from whoever is behind us on the kit. And thankfully, Alex is a super-pro player, great person, [he's] crushing it live, [and he has] a lot of experience."
Bent's predecessor, Paul Wandtke made his live debut with TRIVIUM in December 2015 at Knotfest in Mexico. A short time later, he appeared in an official promotional photo with the three core members of the band.
Paul joined the Florida outfit on the recommendation of DREAM THEATER's Mike Mangini and replaced Mat Madiro, who departed due to reasons of "creativity."
Madiro was the featured drummer on TRIVIUM's latest album, "Silence In The Snow", which was released in October 2015 via Roadrunner.
"Stentor Of Doom", the new video from Belgian death grind extremists LENG TCH'E, can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's sixth full-length album, "Razorgrind", which will be released on August 25 via Season Of Mist.
The development of veteran bands follows established patterns. Some become complacent and happy to release a regular string of barely inspired albums. Others take their time and with no need to prove anything wait until the time is ripe to hammer out another crusher that demonstrates their hard-won maturity much to the delight of their following. LENG TCH'E fall into the latter category.
The Belgian death grind extremists obviously felt no rush to follow-up their latest sonic assault "Hypomanic" (2010), but their new sixth full-length, aptly named after their self-chosen style description "razorgrind," comes with everything that their die-hard fans want to hear. Short, sharp chops crammed with brutal riffing, down-tuned grinding and a knack for deadly melodies over which frontman Sergeï bellows belligerent and fury-filled vocal lines.
"Razorgrind" track listing:

Lunatic Soul, the solo project of Riverside leader Mariusz Duda, will release their fifth album, Fractured, on October 6th via Kscope. A video for the title track, created by Sightsphere, can be found below.
Mariusz Duda, the architect behind Lunatic Soul, comments: “Lunatic Soul has changed and if I were to describe this music, I’d call it dark melancholic trance with more electronics and more powerful sounds. But there will also be some lyrical fragments, and a couple of tracks will feature a symphonic orchestra I have worked with for the first time in my career. The new Lunatic Soul album will be brave, rich and musically very intense, a beginning of a new style rather than a continuation of the previous releases. I am under the impression that all my music experiences have led me to this place and that it will be one of the best albums I have ever made.
“Although I’m still a conscious prisoner of my own aesthetic, this time you can really hear some differences. My soul and body demanded that I settle accounts with the recent past, piece together what had been scattered, glue up the broken bits, stitch up the tears. Tell a story of how it felt when everything shattered into smithereens.”
Fractured will be released worldwide on Kscope and on Mystic Production in Poland. Pre-order options here.

Norwegian progressive metallers LEPROUS will release their fifth studio album, "Malina", on August 25 via InsideOut Music. The official video for the disc's second single, "Stuck", can be seen below. The clip was directed by Troll Toftenes. The band checked in with the following comment about "Stuck": "'Stuck' is LEPROUS in a new package! It's straight to the point, groovy and has probably the guitar and bass sound on the album that we're most happy with! Doing a performance video to enhance the special edit version of this song felt like an obvious choice and the footage captured by Troll Toftenes supports the dynamics of the music in a great way!"
Following a hugely successful European tour as support to labelmates DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT, LEPROUS started recording the follow-up to 2015's "The Congregation". Frontman and keyboard player Einar Solberg comments: "This album is the perfect example of how you can start with a vision and end up with a result that has nothing to do with the original idea.
"The writing of the album started out with the idea to perfect the sound and working method we began with on 'The Congregation'.
"While the writing process was actually pretty similar (30 sketches, elimination process etc etc) we gradually started noticing stuff with the sound and the songwriting on the previous album that we wanted to sound different. Gradually we realized what needed to be done. This album needs to sound more alive, more organic and more dynamic."
The band entered the studio with David Castillo at Ghostward in Sweden, while mixing duties were once again taken care of by Jens Bogren.
"David immediately understood where we wanted to go," Solberg says. "We spent probably four times as many days in the studio as with any other recording we've done, for we've come to learn that if you want to sound unique that is primarily done during recordings, not the mix. We wanted it to sound like it sounded. We did not want to 'digitalize' the sound." With "Malina", LEPROUS has made every effort to try new ways of working, and push the boundaries of their sound in ways they had not originally set out to do.
"We feel with 'Malina' that we've managed to achieve a natural-sounding organic album with great songs that still sounds modern," says Solberg. "Organic doesn't necessarily equal 'retro'. While we still very much sound like LEPROUS, I believe that with this album we more accurately define as a rock band than a metal band.
"We're insanely proud of this album, and can't wait to share it with you all."
This feeling is reflected in the stunning cover artwork too, which you can see below. Einar continues: "We wanted to try something new this time, and work with a new artist. Some good musician friends of ours recommended Corey Meyers. I checked him out, and damn he's good. This is the first time we've ever received the perfect cover on the first attempt. It represents the album perfectly and looks pretty amazing!"

Righteous Vendetta have unveiled a new music video for their song "Weight Of The World". The video is for the current single off the band's new album, Cursed, which dropped back in March on Century Media.
Speaking about the concept behind both the song and the video, the members of RV comment: "'Weight Of The World' is an anthem that we feel a lot of people can relate to. No matter what your situation is, everyone has times where they do their best to keep it all together, but everything seems like it's crashing around them. We wanted to portray that tension visually, and Orie and the Enlighten Creative team really helped us achieve that. We all meshed and had the same goal to create the vibe that would allow the listener to feel that much more connected with the song."
Fans can also see Righteous Vendetta performing at Riff Fest in Clarkston, Michigan on September 29th alongside Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch, Halestorm, Pop Evil, Fozzy and many others! Tickets are on-sale now at this location.

German metal band, Alpha Tiger, have released a new single and video for the song "Comatose". The track is taken from their forthcoming studio album, Alpha Tiger.
Guitar player Peter Langforth: “Is it just me or is the world completely out of mind" In a time when smart-phones dominate everyday life, I'm afraid that this question is becoming more and more common. We approached this issue with a wink and asked ourselves, how people would have responded to it more than a hundred years ago. The song ‘Comatose’ forms the musical bridge between our third record iDentity and the new album, and thus reflects the traditional side of the album. We wish you a lot of fun with the clip!"
You can watch the video below.
Alpha Tiger will be available on August 25th as a CD Digipak (including poster) and double LP version as well as for download and streaming. Pre-order here.
The album was recorded and mixed by Richard Behrens, guest musicians were organist Johannes Walenta and Berlin bands Street Hawk and Space Chaser (the choir vocals on “My Dear Old Friend” and “Singularity”).

“Feather In The Wind”
“Singularity”
“Aurora”
“To Wear A Crown”
“Vice”
“Welcome To Devil's Town”

"Keep The Dream Alive", the new video from Sweden's KRYPTONITE, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's self-titled debut album, which will be released on August 4 via Frontiers Music Srl. Sometimes musicians are put together who only know each other from afar via their respective recordings, but something clicks and triggers a magical moment. That's exactly what happened when Jakob Samuel from THE POODLES met up with producer Alessandro Del Vecchio on the heels of a concept created by Frontiers president Serafino Perugino. Together, they set off to work on a new band that could offer lyrical concepts that are deep and intelligent with music that operates within the genres they excel in. And most importantly, has a great energy and impact. Samuel, Del Vecchio and Perugino handpicked each musician to be part of their vision for a strong lineup of young and hungry Swedish musicians that would be ready to go out there and kick some ass. Pontus Egberg, formerly of THE POODLES and now the bass player for KING DIAMOND and TREAT, was the first one to enter the picture, followed shortly thereafter by Robban Back of MUSTASCH (and ex-ECLIPSE). The choice of guitar player fell to the young and immensely gifted Mike Palace. Mike showed his huge talents as a writer and performer on his band Palace's debut album and on several songs he has already written for the label. The recording and writing sessions flowed freely and the songs came naturally. This band will truly set a standard for what fans perceive as melodic hard rock in today's climate. It is classic, but modern at the same time, groovy and cool.
"Lvgvs", the new video from Swiss folk metallers ELUVEITIE, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's next album, the long-awaited second part of their acoustic concept effort "Evocation", which will be released on August 18 via Nuclear Blast.
ELUVEITIE mainman Chrigel Glanzmann states: "We're excited to present to you the second single and video clip of our upcoming acoustic album: 'Lvgvs'! Lugus is one of the most enigmatic, fascinating and mystical deities in the Celtic pantheon and occupies an important place in 'Evocation II'! And so is our brand new single: 'Lvgvs'. It comes with playful lightness, but is still very deep at the same time, full of mysticism, eclectic details, deepness and emotion. And furthermore we're also happy to have our good, old buddy Netta Skog from ENSIFERUM and her accordion on board in this song!"
"Evocation II" conjures another time travel to eras long gone. As the title already reveals, the concept of the first opus will continue and is entirely dedicated to the Celtic mythology. Even more, "Evocation II" takes you into the Gallic pantheon and bows down to the Celtic Gods after which the song titles are named. Anyone who will join ELUVEITIE on this journey will quickly notice that the character of each song is equal to the one of the god the song is about — and there is a lot more to discover!
Glanzmann stated about the new CD: "'Evocation II' is a journey back to the source of it all: Antumnos, the otherworld. Join us on this wayfare through the Celtic pantheon, the world of the gods of our ancestors! The album cover expresses nothing less but exactly this! It's full of symbolism and meaning and depicts things of deepest meaning and importance in Celtic mythology. The symbol contains the 'great wheel', symbolizing the wheel of the year with the four seasons and the equinoxes — forming the foundations of Celtic mythology. The great wheel is framed by a tripartite Enneagram; while three is an important number in Celtic mythology in general, we also face trinity in the Celtic pantheon! While the inner circle contains the initials of the names of the deities revered on this album — arranged tripartitedly according to their relations within the pantheon and place in the mythology — the outer circle utters an invitation as well as a blessing, a magical benediction for the one to dare to enter and set forth on this journey. The core of the symbol implies triune symbolism. The depiction shows the god Lugus, who was sometimes also adressed in the plural — Lugoves — since he's a triune god, as well as a tricephalos. The 'one with the skillful hand' and 'artisan of all skills' is depicted and a combination of two important symbols: On the one hand he's shown as 'high king' (and druid of druids), a typical gallic symbolism of an essential meaning and sigificance. On the other hand, he's framed by the gallic 'lord of the animals/lord of life' symbolism: The character surrounded with diverse animals, but being strongly connected with all of them at the same time. So after all, the album cover vibrantly and mystically expresses the content of 'Evocation II'! Join and let the journey begin!"
