ICON IN ME — the Russian/Swedish/Danish modern metal band featuring HOSTILE BREED guitarist Dmitry Frans, Danish drummer Morten Løwe Sørensen (SUBMISSION, THE ARCANE ORDER, SCARVE, INSTANT CARNAGE, STRANGLER, SCARVE, SOILWORK) and Swedish vocalist Tony Jelencovich (M.A.N, ex-MNEMIC, TRANSPORT LEAGUE) — has entered the studio to begin recording its as-yet-untitled sophomore album. The drums are currently being laid down at CBS Studios in Holsted, Denmark. 13 songs are being recorded during the sessions, including "Wasted Ways", "Solid Child", "Face It", "Thousand Wars", "Flood Kills" and "Nuclear Drama".

"Running Away", the new video from the Ukrainian melodic death metal band INFINITE TALES, can be viewed below. The song comes off the group's full-length debut, "Only The Beginning", which was released last year in Ukraine only via N.J. Music.

Ukraine black metallers BALFOR have unveiled the cover artwork and track listing of the group's debut effort, entitled "Barbaric Blood".

The "Barbaric Blood" artwork and layout was designed by Martin Saavedra at Uruguay's Spina Studio (ABORTED, DAATH, DIVINITY).

States BALFOR frontman / guitarist Thorgeir: "It's always a long journey making an album. First it has to be written and rehearsed. Then it has to be recorded and mastered, and that's where most people think it ends. But it doesn't quite end there. An important factor that everyone forgets about is the artwork, and yet this is often what people notice first. So we are particularly pleased that the artwork for 'Barbaric Blood' has been so well executed by Martin of Spina Studio. He has captured both the concept behind the album, and the band itself."

"Barbaric Blood" was recorded at Blacklight Studio, Ukraine during August 2009, with the effort mixed and mastered by Shaddar.

An official street release date for "Barbaric Blood" will be announced soon.

Jonny Maudling (BAL-SAGOTH, ex-MY DYING BRIDE) took part in a video shoot for the song "Credo Revolution" from Ukrainian black'n'roll metallers SEMARGL. The clip can be viewed below.

"Credo Revolution" comes off SEMARGL's fourth album, "Ordo Bellictum Satanas", which was released in March via the German label and distribution company Twilight Vertrieb. The CD was recorded at Blacklight Recording Studio in Kiev. Guest musicians on the album include Maudling, Nera (DARZAMAT), Iscariah (IMMORTAL, DEAD TO THIS WORLD, NECROPHAGIA), Novy (DIES IRAE, BEHEMOTH, VADER), Vrangsinn (CARPATHIAN FOREST, NATTEFROST, A.W.O.T.).

After releasing three albums on U.S. label Deathgasm Records, SEMARGL in late 2008 inked a new deal with Twilight Vertrieb. During 2009 the band performed at festivals in Poland and Ukraine, showcasing songs from "Ordo Bellictum Satanas".

The new album from Ukrainian progressive artist Antony Kalugin under the moniker of KARFAGEN is to be available on general release on May 17th. The album consists of a mixture of instrumental and vocal tracks with Marina Zacharova being added to the band and contributing the vocal on three of the nine tracks. Kalugin himself plays keyboards and percussion and adds backing vocals and is joined by a host of Ukrainian artists contributing instruments more commonly associated with the symphony orchestra, such as violin, viola, bassoon, oboe and cello. The album which clocks in at 75 minutes is available from Caerllysi Music which also has some mp3 samples. The full track listing (cover) is as follows:
