Veteran Polish metallers TURBO will release a brand new studio album, "The Fifth Element", in March. The Polish-language version of the CD, entitled "Piaty Żywiol", is now available in Poland. The follow-up to 2009's "Straznik Swiatla" contains "solid heavy metal without any unnecessary intricacies," according to a press release.

Bassist John Campbell of Richmond, Virginia metallers LAMB OF GOD has been forced to leave the band's current North American tour due to a family emergency. His temporary replacement is Matt DeVries (FEAR FACTORY, ex-CHIMAIRA).

DeVries made his live debut with LAMB OF GOD Tuesday night (November 12) in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He will play three more shows with LAMB OF GOD in Canada before heading out on tour with FEAR FACTORY as the support act for MEGADETH.

Says DeVries: "[I am] stoked and honored to be out on such an incredible tour with some great friends."

LAMB OF GOD canceled this past Monday night's (November 11) concert at the ShoWare Center in Kent, Washington due to Campbell's family emergency.

The band's North American co-headlining tour with KILLSWITCH ENGAGE kicked off on October 22 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and is scheduled to conclude on November 26 in Silver Spring, Maryland.

LAMB OF GOD has just released a special 10th-anniversary edition of its "As The Palaces Burn" album.

On November 7, Dutch singer Floor Jansen of NIGHTWISH and REVAMP was interviewed in the studios of Finland's Radio Rock when REVAMP played at Nosturi in Helsinki as the support act for KAMELOT. You can now watch a clip from the chat below. Excerpts follow.

On whether she has spoken to her friend, former NIGHTWISH singer Tarja Turunen, about their shared experience of fronting the band and the circumstances that led to Tarja's departure from the group:

Floor: "Not really. No. Because I feel everyone is different. Time and times have been different. People grow, people change. And I don't wanna go down that road. I'd rather see what happens around me and be in the here and the now with the people I work with and don't go behind backs and [say], 'How was it for you? What happened?' You know. I don't do that."

On whether she has any fears that, due to the band's troubled history with lead vocalists, her time with NIGHTWISH will not last very long:

Floor: "No. And whether this is in NIGHTWISH or in anything with anyone in everyone's lives, what guarantees do you have? So it's just about what you make of it and with the chemistry that you believe in. And I believe in the chemistry that we have today, 'cause it's been very strong since the beginning and grew to be better throughout the months. It's still a very recent thing. But what feels good now, that's where you should go from, and that's what I do."

NIGHTWISH will release a new DVD, "Showtime, Storytime", on November 29 as a limited 2Blu-ray + 2CD digipack, limited 2DVD + 2CD digipack, limited 2CD digipack, 2LP (colored) in gatefold and an exclusive Nuclear Blast mailorder edition.

"Showtime, Storytime" contains NIGHTWISH's entire August 3 performance at the Wacken Open Air festival in Wacken, Germany. The show, which was played in the front of 85,000 screaming metalheads, was directed by Ville Lipiäinen, filmed with seventeen cameras and has a total running time of 85 minutes. The second disc consists of a 120-minute tour documentary, "Please Learn The Setlist In 48 Hours", also directed by Ville Lipiäinen, with no shortage of drama or overall madness. Also, there is a 16-minute NIGHTWISH Table Hockey Tournament, filmed on tour. In addition, there are two music clips: "I Want My Tears Back" (live at Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland) and "Ghost Love Score" (live in Buenos Aires).

The Wacken Open Air appearance was the first of the three final shows of NIGHTWISH's "Imaginaerum World Tour", which saw the band and their Jansen playing 104 concerts in 34 different countries, with a total audience of over 1.5 million fans around the globe.

Jansen made her live debut as the frontwoman of NIGHTWISH on October 1, 2012 at Showbox Sodo in Seattle, Washington following the abrupt departure of the band's lead singer of five years, Anette Olzon.

NIGHTWISH keyboardist/mainman Tuomas Holopainen has known Jansen for more than 10 years already, having previously toured with her former band, AFTER FOREVER.

Frontiers Records has announced the return of the neoclassic power metal supergroup RING OF FIRE with the release of the band's brand new album, "Battle Of Leningrad", on January 24, 2014 in Europe and January 28, 2014 in North America. RING OF FIRE is a band comprised of some incredible musicians, including former YNGWIE MALMSTEEN and ROYAL HUNT singer Mark Boals, classically trained ARTENSION keyboardist Vitalij Kuprij and none other than Tony MacAlpine on guitars.

Combining melodic metal songs with fantasy-based lyrics, topped off with virtuoso performances from the lineup, the resulting RING OF FIRE albums proved to be exactly what many neoclassical-metal fans had waited for, creating a solid fan base for the band all over the world.

"Battle Of Leningrad" is the band's fourth studio album, coming after a nine-year hiatus — a period which has seen the band members getting involved in other projects, most notably with singer Mark Boals becoming singer for ROYAL HUNT and Kuprij and MacAlpine touring with TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA and Steve Vai, respectively.

RING OF FIRE reconvened with Boals, MacAlpine and Kuprij during 2012, when they agreed to work on their unfinished business and develop a new album from the true story of the siege of Leningrad during the WWII.

Explains Boals: "It is a true story of the strength and resilience of the Russian people throughout history and particularly in this instance of 900 days of being surrounded on all sides with no food and no hope of rescue, under siege of the Nazi army.

"The magnificent city of Leningrad, with millions of people trapped, found a way to withstand the daily attacks of rockets and bombs, the lack of food, water, and fuel for heat.

"Although more than 1 million starved to death, most survived, and the Nazis were never able to overtake the city completely. They were finally forced to retreat by the Russian army.

"Not widely known by most, this was an amazing story and one of World War II's finest examples of heroism in the worst circumstances imaginable."

Musically, the album is all the fans have been waiting for. True "neoclassic" power metal with technical and exciting musical passages which promise to reignite the RING OF FIRE flame among the fans!

Former STRATOVARIUS guitarist Timo Tolkki played bass and mixed the album to perfection, while another Finnish musician, Jami Huovinen (SENTIMENT), played drums on the album.

Groovey of Groovey.TV conducted an interview with vocalist Bobby "Blitz" Wllsworth of New Jersey thrash metal veterans OVERKILL on November 8 at Gothic Theatre in Englewood, Colorado. You can now watch the chat below.

On the progress of the recording sessions for OVERKILL's new album:

Ellsworth: "Yeah, the music's all done. It's been recorded. I'm working on vocals right here [on our tour bus] just on my eight-track. I've done probably the last six records on that. I'm just used to it. It's not state of the art or anything, but it's just something that I download all the tunes into. I'm about 80 percent done [with the vocals]. And we're gonna go home record it.

On OVERKILL's musical approach on the new album:

Ellsworth: "One of the things I like over the last three records, I think we've had an energy resurgence, and I think that one of the reasons is Ron Lipnicki on drums. He's just brought a youthful surge to us. It's funny when the kid in the band is, like, 46. [laughs] But I also think one of the things that's given us that surge is that I've had the opportunity to tour right before I've either finished or right as I finished, so I when I get to go in and record, the last thing in my mind, for instance, is the Gothic Theatre. And that's something you can't feign behind a microphone in the studio. But if it's pretty fresh in my head, it just kind of comes out.

"It takes me six weeks to get rid of the tour — to shake off the ghosts and everything. Even my wife says, 'I need three weeks for your voice to lower, because you're yelling everything, and then I need another three weeks for you to be my husband again, to be this normal guy tjhat's not running around picking his nose, drinking a beer for breakfast. [laughs] Fartin'. [laughs] She calls it the middle-age boys club. We're out here rolling dice and smoking Cuban cigars and losing all our money and stuff.

"But she knows it makes me me, and you can't do this for as long as people have, like D.D. [Verni, OVERKILL bassist] and myself and the other guys, without really supportive people in your family. If it's miserable at home, we're middle-aged dudes, bordering on old in some cases. You don't wanna be out here while there's hell to pay at home; you don't. And I think it's kind of cool that we have found people in our lives that kind of understand that."

As previously reported, OVERKILL released a very special limited tour edition of its latest album, "The Electric Age", in Europe on April 19 via Nuclear Blast Records. The limited 2CD tour edition includes the regular album as well as a four additional live tracks on a bonus CD, recorded at The Metro in Sidney, Australia on September 25, 2010.

"The Electric Age" sold 6,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 77 on The Billboard 200 chart.

"The Electric Age" was recorded and mixed at Gear Recording Studios in New Jersey, owned and operated by OVERKILL bassist D.D. Verni.

To honor and celebrate Record Store Day on April 20, Nuclear Blast and OVERKILL released a limited-edition 10-inch copper-colored vinyl in gatefold containing four live tracks recorded at The Metro in Sidney, Australia on September 25, 2010.

OVERKILL was forced to drop off the "Dark Roots Of Thrash" tour with TESTAMENT in February due to Ellsworth's bout with pneumonia.

Finnish guitarist Timo Ahlström (FREEDOMINATION, HORRORFEAST, KILJUVELKA-70), a big-time ANNIHILATOR fan, had the incredible chance to perform the song "King Of The Kill" with his heroes at their November 5 concert in Tampere, Finland. Fan-filmed video footage of his appearance can be seen below.

ANNIHILATOR's 14th studio album, "Feast", sold around 800 copies in the United States in its first week of release.

In a recent interview with Ghost Cult Magazine, ANNIHILATOR guitarist/mainman Jeff Waters stated about "Feast": "As an artist, you're sometimes lucky when it all comes together, be it painting, singing or whatever. Sometimes you want to do something good and when you're busy with it, you seem to hit the nail on the head. When you listen back, it doesn't contain your best work. Sometimes it just works. Bands like IRON MAIDEN, JUDAS PRIEST, SLAYER and also we in ANNIHILATOR have great records and we have our share of not-so-good records. Different times, different places, you know. Maybe we were lucky with 'Feast' and maybe we were inspired. A lot of it comes from that my partner in ANNIHILATOR, singer/guitarist Dave Padden, said that we should take a break for three years from writing music and focus on other things. We did a lot of touring, I worked in my studio, give guitar clinics for Gibson and Epiphone and we played the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise, all these cool things. The break breathed a lot of new life in the ANNIHILATOR music and that's probably where a lot of the inspiration came from."

Danish/American hard rockers ROYAL HUNT will release their twelfth studio album, "A Life To Die For", on November 29 in Europe and December 3 in North America via Frontiers. Seventh Circle Artworks has announce a new piece for 2013, exclusively designed by Cristina Scabbia, the voice of LACUNA COIL.

Seventh Circle Artworks has been fortunate enough to work with some great musicians in the past and feels very fortunate to have collaborated with Cristina on this rather devilish piece.

In 2012, Seventh Circle Artworks designer Alex Palmer met with LACUNA COIL at the band's London show to do a photo shoot with Cristina. They got talking and the idea for her to design a piece became a reality. They have been working together over the last 12 months on a few designs, but as is always the way, the first idea was the best.

The "I'm No Saint" ring was born.

LACUNA COIL is currently taking part in the "Tragic Illusion Tour" that celebrates PARADISE LOST's 25th anniversary.

David Ellefson (MEGADETH) and Frank Bello (ANTHRAX) took part in a joint clinic at the Bass Player LIVE! event on November 10 at S.I.R. studios in Hollywood, California. Video footage of the event can be seen in four parts below (courtesy of Metal Assault).

Ellefson's memoir, "My Life With Deth", was made available on October 29 via Howard Books. It chronicles the story of Ellefson's fall into addiction during the band's early years, followed by his subsequent recovery and the return to faith which championed the band's rise to fame over the past several decades.

In addition to numerous gold and platinum records, David is the author of the book "Making Music Your Business" and has two metal bass guitar instructional DVDs through Rock House Method entitled "Metal Bass Vol. 1" and "Vol. 2". He is also a featured bass clinician, keynote speaker and panelist on the subject of music and the music industry.

Frank Bello is the powerhouse bassist for the groundbreaking New York City speed-thrash metal institution ANTHRAX. Born and raised in the Bronx, Bello started playing when he was 12, learning bass parts on guitar; idolizing bass heroes such as Geddy Lee, Steve Harris and Geezer Butler; and frequently jamming with his uncle, ANTHRAX drummer Charlie Benante. Bello joined ANTHRAX in time for 1985's "Spreading the Disease", and fans loved his high-energy stage presence and deftly inventive bass style. Since that time, ANTHRAX quickly reached the upper echelons of metal stardom with a series of classic punk/speed metal albums fueled by Bello's ferociously riffing bass work. On stage and off, Frank Bello is a veritable bass ambassador who doesn't pull any musical punches. Bello continues to play with a ferocity and finesse that has won him acclaim far and wide.

On November 7 at Saint Rocke in Hermosa Beach, California, the Geoff Tate-fronted version of QUEENSRŸCHE acoustically performed the entire setlist that was played by the original band during their 1992 "MTV Unplugged" show. They also played other QUEENSRŸCHE hits and favorites.

ICED EARTH earlier in the year parted ways with drummer Brent Smedley for "personal family reasons."

"Stained Glass Heart", the new video from Michael Monroe, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, über-energetic frontman and iconic rock 'n' roll legend, can be seen below. The track marks the third single from his new studio album, "Horns And Halos", out now on Spinefarm Records.

"I'm feeling quite excited about our new 'Stained Glass Heart' video," says Michael Monroe. "It was shot in Helsinki at an amusement park on a perfectly grey and rainy day which made it look more like an 'abusement park.' The video turned out very cool and classy."

On the live front, Michael Monroe has revealed plans for an extensive world tour. "Horns And Halos", was certified gold in Finland for sales in excess of 10,000 copies within the first week of the CD's release.

"Provision", the new video from the Manheim, Pennsylvania-based quintet AUGUST BURNS RED, can be seen below. The track comoes off the band's fifth album, "Rescue & Restore", which sold nearly 26,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 9 on The Billboard 200 chart. The record arrived in stores on June 25 via Solid State Records.

TERRANA, the new three-piece power rock trio led by renowned drummer Mike Terrana (TARJA, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, AXEL RUDI PELL, MASTERPLAN, GAMMA RAY, RAGE), has finished recording three songs at Nadir Music Studios in Genoa, Italy with producer Tommy Talamanca (SADIST mastermind).

Mike Terrana is an American drummer, principally in the hard rock genre. His first professional work was in 1984 with the MCA band HANOVER FIST, after which he recorded and toured with various bands, playing various styles of music in Western New York state.

Between 1987 and 1997, he was based in Los Angeles, working with artists like Yngwie Malmsteen, Tony Macalpine, Steve Lukather (TOTO), Jennifer Batten (MICHAEL JACKSON, JEFF BECK), Kuni and BEAU NASTY.

In 1997 Terrana moved to Europe, first in Holland for six months and then Germany. He worked with GAMMA RAY, RAGE, AXEL RUDI PELL, Roland Grapow (ex-HELLOWEEN) and SAVAGE CIRCUS.

Terrana currently tours with Tarja Turunen. He is engaged in projects in the instrumental fusion genre and performs drum clinics around the world for the companies he endorses.

Rob Zombie and his band were joined by KORN guitarists Brian "Head" Welch and James "Munky" Shaffer on stage on November 10 in Rapid City, South Dakota to perform a cover version of the DIAMOND HEAD classic "Am I Evil?" ROB ZOMBIE and KORN are co-headlining the "Night Of The Living Dreads" tour this fall. The 17-date run began on November 3 in Reno, Nevada and will wrap on November 26 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Zombie said, "Some of the best times we've had on the road have been touring with KORN, so we're thrilled to be doing it again!"

KORN's Jonathan Davis added, "We've had a lot of fun touring and playing with ROB ZOMBIE over the years. It's been a while and those shows were so much fun. We're really excited about doing it again."

Rob Zombie's inaugural Great American Nightmare festival ran from October 10 through November 2 in Pomona, California.

KORN released its new studio album, "The Paradigm Shift", on October 8.

CLUTCH has set a November 26 release date for "Earth Rocker Live" via Weathermaker Music.

"Earth Rocker Live" is a double-vinyl picture-disc set. The first LP is the studio version of CLUTCH's latest album, "Earth Rocker". The second LP consists of live versions of the same tracks in the same sequence as the original.

This is not a live recording of one show. The individual tracks of the live version were recorded at different shows throughout the band's May 2013 U.S. tour: Houston and San Antonio (Texas), Lincoln (Nebraska), Indianapolis (Indiana) and Fargo (North Dakota). The stunning artwork displays the four Indian heads from the original package in all their colorful beauty: one for each side. This special collectors' item will be limited to the initial print run and is expected to sell out quickly. The current leg of CLUTCH's "Earth Rocker" world tour runs through November 23 in Detroit, Michigan. CLUTCH will then hit the road for their annual holiday shows and continue on tour through January 18 in Huntington, West Virginia. For the first time ever, CLUTCH will perform live on AXS TV Concerts Thursday November 14 at 11:00 p.m. EST/8:00 p.m. PST from the Ogden Theater in Denver, Colorado. The band will play tracks from "Earth Rocker" as well as CLUTCH favorites and rarities during the live unedited performance on AXS TV.

FIFTH TO INFINITY was formed by Jonas Reslan, Martin Lopez and Martin Mendez in 1997, after the breakup of the underground black metal outfit VINTERKRIG.

FIFTH TO INFINITY was set to release its debut album in 2000, but due to a set of unfortunate circumstances, it was all put to rest in 2001 before the completion of the recording. Jonas revived the band in 2007, now with an even darker vision.

After reuniting with Lopez in 2008 and recruiting bassist David Lindh as a full-time member in 2013, FIFTH TO INFINITY returned to the studio to work on its upcoming album.

In a recent interview with Live High Five, Couls stated about VEHEMENT SERENADE's sound: "The beauty of the whole band is that there are all these pieces and elements of everything we've done, but it doesn't sound like any group we've ever played in. You couldn't pick any one group or one sound, and you couldn't pigeonhole it in any way. It just has a lot of diverse elements from a lot of talented musicians, and when we come into a room together, it's pretty easy. It's one of the least painstaking writing processes I've ever been a part of. Everyone's friends, and everyone knows their instruments, and it's a joy to play together."

MICHAEL SCHENKER'S TEMPLE OF ROCK features legendary German guitarist Michael Schenker alongside vocalist Doogie White, guitarist/keyboardist Wayne Findlay, bassist Francis Buchholz and drummer Herman Rarebell. The CD marks the first time Schenker and fellow ex-SCORPIONS members Buchholz and Rarebell have appeared on the same album since the classic 1979 SCORPIONS LP "Lovedrive".

Says Schenker about "Neptune Rising": "'Neptune Rising' is a song I wrote in the studio. It's about Wayne Findlay. He reminds me of a Neptune with his crazy hair and beard. One day I had this vision of seeing him with the Trident coming out of the ocean. Wayne loves water and the undersea world. So, I suggested that we design a guitar that looks like a Trident. The guitar is almost completed and will be called Trident and will be seen on our next tour."

"Bridge The Gap" is described in a press release as "an album of 13 hard-hitting, adrenalin-fueled melodic rock'n'roll songs that showcase Shenker's distinctive and explosive guitar playing."

Scottish vocalist Doogie White, who co-wrote the album with Schenker, soars across every song, and stamps his enthusiastic personality with every note and phrase. Wayne Findlay adds another dimension to the dynamic, classic Schenker sound with his Dean seven-string guitar and keyboard orchestrations.

"Bridge The Gap" is a thunderous, explosive collection of brand new songs steeped in shades of dark and light. Musically and lyrically, the new album shows a re-energized guitarist at the top of his game, surrounded by top drawer musicians.

The album was recorded from January to March 2013 at Kidroom Studios, Germany and was produced by Michael Schenker and Michael Voss, and engineered by Voss.

"Michael and I had talked about recording an album together after the tour of 2012," says Doogie White. "We never spoke about it again until January 2013 when he sent me seven ideas he had been working on.

"Last October, I started writing the music for the new album," adds Schenker. "I sent material to Doogie in the New Year and he started writing melodies and lyrics. I laid down some arrangements at Michael Voss's studio. There was a lot of energy flying about during the recording process. I had the same drive making this album as I had when I was 16. I wanted it fast, heavy and melodic. It felt like bridging the gap from my teenage and 'Lovedrive' years to what I am doing now. I'm back to where I was a long time ago and I love it."

"Never having really written with Michael before, apart from 'When The Devil Knows You're Dead' (from 2011's 'Temple Of Rock' album), I didn't know how flexible he would be writing wise," recalls Doogie." I laid down some vocal tracks as ideas and when Michael heard them. we were off and running. Within two weeks we were in the studio laying down tracks."

Schenker admits that when he wrote this album, he tried to get a balance between songs that are heavy, fast and melodic, complimented by his signature guitar solos.

"I wanted to combine the old with the new," he says. "That's why the album's called 'Bridge The Gap'. With Wayne playing seven-string guitar we created some low, heavy modern sounds. Since I play and experiment on a regular basis, I always have some new, fresh sparks to share when I record a new album. I am inspired from within. It's infinite like a kaleidoscope."

"As former members of the SCORPIONS, Herman, Francis and I have been out of the loop of rock'n'roll for quite a while. Getting together for the first time since the 'Lovedrive' album is an incredible jump. We're connecting the past with the present. We're bridging the gap."

Schenker remains philosophical about the name of the new album. He believes the name reflects what is going on in the fast-moving world around him.

"Everything that is currently going on in this world is showing that people are desperate for change," he says. "We need to bridge the gap of poverty. There are too many innocent people getting killed in terrorist attacks. We need to leave all of this chaos behind us. We have to be strong. We have to continue moving forward, working together in a balanced way."

Schenker is amazed how melodic the new album turned out, but he still insists the songs still feature a bit of darkness as well.

"I came up with the name of the album, before I even started writing. When Doogie started writing the lyrics to the new songs he had something to go by. I guess 'Bridges Burned' is a new song that is something of a word play on 'Bridge The Gap'. I love this song. Doogie's singing is excellent on this."

"'Horizons' is a really powerful and exciting track from the new album," says Schenker. "I love the energy and Doogie's great vocal lines."
