Diatribe and Allegorize, from 2012 and 2013 respectively, are two of the most recent albums and were solo efforts from band founder Andrew P. Laurenson.

Gabe Reed Productions and Kendra Helms Media have joined forces to create the METAL ALL-STARS Tour. It will feature some of the biggest contributors to the heavy metal genre, along with some of the most technical musicians in the industry.

Canadian speed metallers STRIKER have premiered their video ‘Fight For Your Life’. The song is taken from the band’s latest album, Armed To The Teeth, which was released July 7th, 2012 by Napalm Records.



Striker will be touring Europe starting November 25th in London.

Blindfold is a progressive metalcore band founded and located in Athens, Greece. The band was formed in 2007 by Nick Mavromatis (bass guitar, vocals) and Alex (guitars). A fair amount of lineup changes took place while Blindfold was trying to enhance their sound. In 2011, after many audiences with musicians, the band had taken its final formation with Andrew Bakatsias (drums) and Ody Kalogirou (keyboards) joining Nick and Alex. As a band, Blindfold set no limits within their music, incorporating various music elements in their style from sweet, ambient melodies and harmonies to heavy, djent and technical riffs and solos.

Danish death metallers DEUS OTIOSUS have announced that they will be recording their third album in January 2014. Deus Otiosus released Godless on Deepsend Records in 2012.

During 2013 – while playing countries like Denmark, Sweden and Germany – the band finished writing all the songs for the upcoming third, and yet untitled album. The band is currently rehearsing and arranging the songs and studio time is booked for January.

The band will play one final show before entering the studio; this will be in Helsingborg, Sweden on December 6th.

Children Of Bodom will make their triumphant return to North America this February. The band has announced a six-week major market headlining tour that will kick off on February 14th in Quebec City, QC and hit 32 markets across the US and Canada before wrapping with a two night stand at NYC's Irving Plaza on March 28th - 29th. On the state of the heavy metal and hard rock scene in America:

M. Shadows (vocals): "To be honest, I think rock music is in a pretty rough place in America today. I don't feel that mainstream America really cares about rock music right now. Honestly, it's a little scary. It'd be cooler if there was a new 'Big Four' leading the charge and taking metal to a new place, but it's pretty obvious right now that metal is taking a beating. We want metal to be dangerous again. How cool would that be?"

On AVENGED SEVENFOLD's rising popularity on the European continent:

M. Shadows: "I recall us selling out L.A.'s 5,000-capacity Gibson Amphitheatre and flying straight to Germany to play a 300-capacity room where we'd only sold 120 tickets. This was when 'City Of Evil' was really taking off in the U.S., but it seemed like Europe was less interested. And now our ticket sales in Europe are just crushing what we're doing in the States. That's a pretty amazing feeling. It feels like we're truly building a worldwide cult. And that this is just the beginning of something special."

On AVENGED SEVENFOLD's new album, "Hail To The King", topping the charts on both sides of the Atlantic:

Synyster Gates (guitar): "We're fortunate that our fans worldwide have really embraced our evolution. We know how lucky we are. We want to change people's lives. I'm not saying we're God's gift, but we're trying to make a difference. We're trying to leave no stone unturned, to push forward in every aspect of what it means to be a band. Because this really matters to us. Metal matters to us. And we know exactly how much it means to kids out there too. The challenge is to move forward together. And that's what this tour is all about, taking things to a new level."

On AVENGED SEVENFOLD's new stage show:

Synyster Gates: "I hope we're not the last of the Mohicans when it comes to putting on a big, crazy, over-the-top theatrical rock show. This is what we grew up on, with bands like [IRON] MAIDEN and METALLICA, and I really hope we're not the last of a dying breed. We want to blow kids' minds just as we had our minds blown by massive shaws when we were growing up. Metal should be spectacuiar and dramatic and thrilling. When kids invest their time and money in coming to see us, we owe it to them to give them the best night of their lives."

On being criticized by other metal and hard rock musicians while selling a huge amount of records and packing live shows:

M. Shadows: "No other metal band is.doing what we're doing. We've all heard people in bands who I won't give any publicity to shouting their mouths off in recent months, but fuck the haters. People know that they'll get more attention by talking shit about us and if that's the way they want to run their bands, that's fine, but it's not what we would do. We go out there and kill it every night and you can see what this means to people."

Synyster Gates: "We want to do things the right way. We're lucky to be part of such a unique genre and we're fighting for metal, for the renaissance of the music we love; we believe in this, and to see thousands of kids turning out for a show that we've put heart and soul into is fucking awesome. We're not insecure about this. We know the point we're at... but we all know that there's so much fucking more to come. And we want to take everyone along for the ride."

New York City-based quartet JOLLY honed their arts and crafts skills with the release of their new homemade video for the song 'Lucky'. Created by the band themselves - using a cardboard box, construction paper and a toy robot - the clip marks the fourth (and most unique) video from the band's latest studio album The Audio Guide To Happiness II, which was released in March via InsideOut Music.
"We took time out of our busy schedule to do some arts and crafts to make our latest animated video," the band revealed to Pure Volume. "We made the most we could out of cardboard, hot glue, and computer software. Jolly loves you."

'Tephra' is the official new live video from Belgian melodic black metallers SAILLE. The track comes off the band's debut album, Irreversible Decay, which was released in March 2011 on Code666 records.

The footage was recorded on Saturday, August 17th 2013 at the Metal Méan Festival in Belgium and features Sarah Vlerick on violin. Other artists on the line-up included DYING FETUS, MARDUK, ANAAL NATHRAKH, DECREPIT BIRTH and many more.

The band's sophomore album entitled Ritu was released on January 18th of 2013 via Code666 Records and was produced and mixed by Reinier Schenk (GORATH, FLESHMOULD) and mastered by Tom Kvålsvoll (1349, DIMMU BORGIR, KEEP OF KALESSIN). Cover art comes courtesy of Polish digital landscape artist Michal Karcz.

The band comments on the song: "With the mixing entering the final stages, we wanted to release a song that covers all the musical bases we touch upon: melodic metal, traditional metal, and even a nod to good ole thrash metal. The song is about how a lot of us expect change in our world but refuse to stand up and take initiative to create change. We often complain about how shitty the world is yet we just stand by and do nothing. 'Silence Befalls The Crowd' is a call to arms, it is a song about the destruction in the world and our ignorance against it, it is a strong message to stand up for what we all believe in and create peace."

California black/death conjurers, VALDUR, today confirm preliminary details of their impending new full-length. Dubbed At War With, the follow up to the band's 2010-released Raven Gods Among Us was recorded at Earhammer Studio with Greg Wilkinson at the helm, is currently being mastered by Michael Z. (SECRETS OF THE MOON, ASCENSION) at Source Studios and boasts ten psalms of sonic repugnance.

States drummer Matthew bluntly, "I'm not very comfortable trying put Valdur's music into words, but I think that what is important is that we have the luxury of doing what we want, when we want... and in the end, it will be our music and artwork that will do all the talking."

MONSTER MAGNET released their new album Last Patrol this past October via Napalm Records. Last Patrol is available as a Limited Edition Digipak, which contains two bonus tracks, standard CD, 2LP and digital format.

Monster Magnet will be hitting the road beginning tomorrow night in Grand Rapids, MI for their first North American tour in over 10 years. The tour will run through December 14th in New York, NY. Support on the tour will be come from ROYAL THUNDER and ANTI-MORTEM. (ZODIAC who were originally part of the tour have been denied visas and will not be on the bill)

TERRORIZER celebrated the 24th anniversary of its classic album "World Downfall" with a lineup featuring Pete "Commando" Sandoval, Lee Harrison (MONSTROSITY) and Sam Molina.

TERRORIZER's latest album, "Hordes Of Zombies", was released on February 28, 2012 via the French label Season Of Mist.

Guitarist Jesse Pintado, a founding member and guitarist of TERRORIZER, died at Holland's Erasmus MC hospital on August 27, 2006 due to liver failure, only less than a week after the release of TERRORIZER's second album "Darker Days Ahead". His death effectively put TERRORIZER's future in question.
