BEHEMOTH To Release 'Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel' Single, Video; First Teaser AvailableA teaser for "Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel", the brand new video from Polish extreme metallers BEHEMOTH, can be seen below. The song will be released as a digital single and 12-inch EP on December 4.
The music video for "Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel" was directed by Polish producers Grupa 13, with whom BEHEMOTH previously collaborated on the clips for "At The Left Hand Ov God" and "Ov Fire And The Void".
Fan-filmed video footage of BEHEMOTH performing "Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel" during their October 19 appearance at this year's edition of the Loud Park festival at Saitama Super Arena in Tokyo, Japan can be seen below.
"Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel", which was previously described by BEHEMOTH frontman Adam "Nergal" Darski as "killer" and "a monster," will be included on the band's tenth full-length album, "The Satanist", due in early 2014 via Nuclear Blast in Europe and Metal Blade in North America. The CD was recorded at Hertz studio in Bialystok, Poland with the help of the Wieslawscy brothers and Daniel Bergstrand (MESHUGGAH, IN FLAMES, SOILWORK, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD). Other songtitles set to appear on the effort include "Messe Noir" (French for "The Black Mass") and "Ora Pro Nobis, Lucifer" (Latin for "Pray For Us, Lucifer").
"The Satanist" cover artwork was painted with Nergal's own blood. He provided a container of his plasma to Russian symbolist painter Denis Forkas in Moscow. Forkas then blended the blood into the painting so that it would have a more "organic" feel.
"I wanted to incorporate some of my DNA into the art," Nergal told Australia's Heavy magazine.
"This album seems to be so defining of who we are now as people and as individuals, and considering all the instances in recent years, [we wanted] to make it more 'ours' than it is usually."
In a recent interview with Revolver magazine, Darski described BEHEMOTH's new songs as "very atmospheric" and "very emotional." "Think BURZUM meets NEW ORDER meets KILLING JOKE," he added. But at the same time, fans shouldn't expect the album to sound too far removed from BEHEMOTH's past efforts. "Take SLAYER, for example," Darski said. "Whatever genre they deal with, they still end up sounding like SLAYER. Even when they were flirting with nu-metal, it was a SLAYER record. Same with BEHEMOTH."
According to Darski, at least some of the inspiration for the new BEHEMOTH album came from his five-month bout of leukemia he overcame in January 2011, after receiving a bone-marrow transplant. "When I was in the hospital, I was collecting experiences and emotions," he said. "I'm pretty sure that it's coming out now. There are moments I catch myself thinking about how my state was back then. It was me versus life, me versus death. It definitely changed my thoughts a lot. It's 100 percent being reflected in the record and songs I'm writing nowadays. I'm way more radical than I used to be."

THE SANITY DAYS Featuring Ex-ONSLAUGHT Members: Deal With CANDLELIGHT RECORDS AnnouncedTHE SANITY DAYS — the project featuring four former members of legendary Bristol thrash metallers ONSLAUGHT — has inked a deal with Candlelight Records. The band's debut album will be released next spring.
Steve Beatty, the head of Candlelight Records, comments: “I am thrilled to have THE SANITY DAYS on board and it's a pleasure to be working with a band with such a great pedigree in British metal."
Multi-camera video footage of THE SANITY DAYS performing a new song, "My Demon Mind", on December 7, 2012 at Riffs Bar in Swindon, England can be seen below.
THE SANITY DAYS is intended as a bit of fun for the musicians and an opportunity for fans to hear music that no longer features in ONSLAUGHT's live repertoire.
THE SANITY DAYS was launched by Steve Grice, former drummer and founding member of the ONSLAUGHT, who played on all ONSLAUGHT albums thus far. He is joined in the new project by former ONSLAUGHT guitarist Alan Jordan (2007's "Killing Peace"), bassist Jase Stallard (1985's "Power From Hell" and 1986's "The Force"), and ex-GRIM REAPER singer Steve Grimmett, who fronted ONSLAUGHT for the 1989 album "In Search Of Sanity".
Released on London Records in 1989, "In Search Of Sanity" was the last album ONSLAUGHT recorded before it disbanded. Despite reaching the U.K. Top 50, its mainstream production proved controversial among bandmembers and fans alike. "We were always pleased with the songs, though," states Grice. "Over the past few years, people have nagged me to play tracks from the 'Sanity' album, but we always struggled to get them sounding right without Steve Grimmett's involvement."
Former GRIM REAPER frontman Grimmett lent his powerful voice to ONSLAUGHT for just this one album and now returns as a member of THE SANITY DAYS. "It's been a long time since I sang any songs from 'In Search of Sanity', but this was an opportunity I couldn't turn down," he said. "I have also been asked to play these songs, but it never seemed the right thing to do after ONSLAUGHT got back together."

Just as WARMASTER delivers some of the most violent, old-school war metal out there, their video also features classic, black-and-white footage of battle-spawned destruction.

In June of this year, Dead Beat Media and Slaughterhouse Records teamed up for the release of a split seven-inch EP featuring WARMASTER, along with Malaysian warlords HUMILIATION.

WARMASTER debut album, "First War", was released on Dutch Metal Records in 2008. Many European live shows followed and touring with bands like GRAVE, JUNGLE ROT, SADISTIC INTENT, FLESHCRAWL, ZOMBIE INC. strengthened WARMASTER's reputation. After some lineup changes and with newly found energy and creativity, WARMASTER recorded a new album and a split EP with HUMILIATION.

RAVEN: Multi-Camera Footage Of San Francisco ConcertCapital Chaos TV has uploaded video footage of the veteran British/American heavy metal trio RAVEN performing on October 15 at DNA Lounge in San Francisco, California. Check out the clips below.
RAVEN released the "Rock Until You Drop - A Long Days Journey" two-disc DVD as a digipak in North America on July 2 via SPV/Steamhammer. The effort contains four hours and 30 minutes of concert footage from around the world, in the studio, backstage, interviews with the band, the fans, musicians and producer. It tells the story of over three decades of trailblaizing metal mayhem!
From the well-documented early days as NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) frontrunners, RAVEN's albums "Rock Until You Drop", "Wiped Out" and "All For One" virtually invented both the speed metal and power metal genres — during the trailblazing USA tours of the '80s introducing the States to "athletic rock" as well as giving opening acts like METALLICA and ANTHRAX their first tours, through the doldrums of the late '80s/early '90s when a grunge-obsessed media wrote off so many acts, RAVEN has consistently proved to be both survivors par excellence and in a genre of grim imitation shown that they are "the real thing". Where so many of their contemporaries have either faded creatively or become parodies of themselves, RAVEN have consistently pushed the envelope while retaining their unique sound and attack — both in the studio & in their true element, onstage!
In a music scene filled by clones nurtured with a cookie-cutter mentality, the unique personality, power and humor of the three band members has always shone through. The crazed vocals and bass playing of John Gallagher, the full frontal guitar assault of brother, Mark Gallagher, and the punishing polyrhythmic pounding of drummer Joe Hasselvander all combine to form a sonic battering ram unique in rock!
DVD 1 track listing:

RAVEN recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of its seminal album "All For One" by playing select dates dubbed "All For One Forever", during which they performed many tracks from the album, including some rarely or never performed live. Originally released in 1983, "All For One" was not only the band's breakout LP, it was also a massively influential slab of classic metal. The band's groundbreaking and high-energy approach was a vital element in the development of thrash. RAVEN's latest album, "Walk Through Fire", was released in the U.S. on March 30, 2010 (one day earlier in Europe through SPV/Steamhammer) via Metal Blade Records. The CD was recorded at Assembly Line Studios with engineer/mixer Kevin 131 (PROJECT: FAILING FLESH, DECEASED, DYSRYTHMIA, GARDEN OF SHADOWS).

RAGE To Pay Tribute To JON LORD At Special ConcertOn Friday, May 23, 2014, German power metallers RAGE will take part in a very special event. The band will perform at "Tribute To Jon - Celebrating The Music Of Jon Lord", set to take place at in Bergheim, Germany. Art director for this project will be Martin Doepke, who accompanied Lord live on keyboards.
RAGE will be responsible for the rock part of the concert, the "NuMetal Symphony" — orchestra bridging the gap from rock to classic.
See the greatest hits from DEEP PURPLE and the "classic" works of Jon Lord in a superb concert.
Jon Lord died on July 16, 2012 at age 71 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Lord, who was known for his keyboard virtuosity and his reinvention of the Hammond B-3 organ sound, co-wrote such PURPLE classics as "Smoke On The Water" and "Child In Time", among others. Lord and drummer Ian Paice were the only original members to last through the band's initial run from 1968 to 1976. He was on board for their 1984 reunion and stayed on through to his 2002 retirement from the band, after which he's worked primarily in the classical field.
Over the course of his career, Lord also worked with the ARTWOODS, FLOWER POT MEN, PAICE, ASHTON AND LORD, WHITESNAKE and good friend and neighbor, George Harrison.
In a recent interview with Peter Makowski, METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich stated about Jon Lord: "I'm not sure that the people in today's hard rock world really truly understand how innovative this guy was. He wasn't just another keyboard player on the side of the stage. In '66/'67, when Hendrix, Townshend and Ritchie Blackmore were taking the electric guitar to a new level, by using banks of Marshall stacks beefing up the sound, Jon Lord was one of the first guys in hard rock to take the keyboards through the same process. He took a fairly standard instrument like a Hammond organ put it through amplifiers and Leslie cabinets and introduced a whole new way of forcing the sound out of the keyboards.
"Ritchie Blackmore said the other day that Jon formed DEEP PURPLE; he was certainly the instigator that made things happen. If not the musical leader, Jon was the spiritual leader of the band. He was a pioneer, and I think that somehow that's gotten a little lost in the last few [months]. People are talking about, obviously, what a gentleman he was and what a fantastic band member but he really did something nobody had done before with the sound of the keyboards and I think that's probably the biggest thing to remember him for."

VINNY APPICE, MARCO MENDOZA, DOOGIE WHITE Join Forces With 15-Year-Old Polish GuitaristVocalist Doogie White (RAINBOW, MICHAEL SCHENKER, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN), drummer Vinny Appice (BLACK SABBATH, HEAVEN & HELL, DIO) and bassist Marco Mendoza (THIN LIZZY, WHITESNAKE) have joined forces with 15-year-old Polish guitarist Iggy Gwadera in a brand new project which will see the light of day next spring.
The idea to record an album together was born after THIN LIZZY's concert in Poland. Mendoza — impressed with Iggy, who supported THIN LIZZY with his band ANTI TANK NUN — suggested that they record some music together. This first idea, which was maturing for the next dozen-odd months, eventually evolved into the above-mentioned project, which is recording a brand new album with Iggy. Appice and Mendoza have already laying down the bass and drum tracks in Los Angeles. At the end of November, White will record his vocals and the album will be mixed before Christmas for an early 2014 release. 5

SICK/TIRED Signs With A389 RECORDINGSA389 Recordings has announced the signing of Chicago's SICK/TIRED. Unloading a punishing brand of low-fi grindcore with rabid hardcore and punk influences, SICK/TIRED was founded in 2008, formed by ex-members of modern brutality specialists WEEKEND NACHOS and '90s powerviolence/thrashcore activists MK ULTRA. To date, they have released multiple records on such labels as Profane Existence, To Live A Lie and Cowabunga. In 2011, they parted ways with their original vocalist and added A. Jennings from WINTERS IN OSAKA, the lineup currently rounded out by bassist Kirk Syrek, guitarist Ben Gonzalez, and drummer Adam Tomlinson. This lineup shift resulted in their most intense material to date, exemplified in a review by Grind And Punishment, which described SICK/TIRED's May 2013-released "King Of Dirt" LP as "boldly striding face first into a tornado of glass shards. It's a maelstrom of whirling slivers intent on rending your flesh, a vortex of unremitting insanity... This is simply one of the best records I've heard in years. It's absolutely everything you can ask for in a grind album." Just behind the LP the band also disbursed their most recent recordings with the "Manufactured" seven-inch single, which just arrived in September. Now a part of the A389 tribe, SICK/TIRED will culminate their most unhinged, by-the-throat works to date, planning to record a new LP for the label for release in the summer of 2014.

DEF LEPPARD Guitarist VIVIAN CAMPBELL: 'I'm Officially In Remission' From Hodgkin's Lymphoma51-year-old DEF LEPPARD and LAST IN LINE guitarist Vivian Campbell, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma earlier in the year, has posted the following message on his Facebook page:
"For anyone who gives a toss, after doing another PET scan and all the other follow-up tests, then getting a second opinion, etc., I'm officially in remission from Hodgies. That's the good news. The bad news is: I no longer have an excuse to not go to the gym."
Campbell, who joined LEPPARD in 1992 after stints in DIO and WHITESNAKE, had been receiving chemotherapy since April.
"I feel fortunate that my cancer sent me an alarm call in the form of 'the cough that wouldn't quit,'" Campbell said earlier in the year.
Hodgkin's lymphoma is a cancer of the immune system characterized by the painless enlargement of lymph nodes, spleen, or immune tissue.
"I did kind of want to not go public with it at first, because it is a weird kind of thing," Campbell said in a June radio interview. "You've got to kind of learn to deal with it on your own terms before you can address the rest of the world about it. So, you know, I feel very comfortable going public about it. For the first couple months, I even tried to keep it from my children, because they were still in school and doing exams and stuff and I didn't want to add to their concerns. But after a while, it's inevitable that you, you know, something's going on and you have to kind of come out with it and kind of explain what the situation is. But I'm very comfortable with it. I'm very comfortable with the treatment. I'm very comfortable with how my body is reacting to it."
Last month, DEF LEPPARD's recent Las Vegas extravaganza hit the silver screen for two nights. NCM Fathom Events together with AEG Live and Network Live brought DEF LEPPARD "Viva! Hysteria" concert to over 250 theaters across the country with a full front-to-back performance of 1987's multi-platinum "Hysteria" album — along with a healthy dose of the band's greatest hits. 1

PLACE VENDOME Featuring MICHAEL KISKE: 'Talk To Me' Video Released"Talk To Me", the new video from PLACE VENDOME, can be seen below. The song comes off the band's third album, "Thunder In The Distance", which was released on November 1 in Europe and November 5 in North America via Frontiers Records.
PLACE VENDOME is the melodic rock project featuring UNISONIC and former HELLOWEEN singer Michael Kiske on all lead vocals and production from Dennis Ward (PINK CREAM 69).
PLACE VENDOME started in 2004 when Kiske, following a self-imposed exile from the rock and metal scene which lasted a few years after his departure from HELLOWEEN and solo career, accepted an offer in 2004 to be part of a melodic rock-oriented concept put together by Frontiers Records president Serafino Perugino.
The resulting PLACE VENDOME debut album brought Kiske back to a more straight-ahead rock sound, still very accessible and melodic and far from the heavy metal stereotypes of blood, violence and hate which Kiske never had anything to do with. He collaborated for the first time with PINK CREAM 69's Dennis Ward, Kosta Zafiriou and Uwe Reitenauer with Gunther Werno (VANDEN PLAS) on keyboards. In a quite ironic twist of fate, Michael found himself to work with members of PINK CREAM 69 when that band's original singer, Andi Deris, took his place in HELLOWEEN after Kiske left.
The very favorable acceptance of the first PLACE VENDOME album planted the seeds for a second recording entitled "Streets Of Fire", which was produced during 2008. The concept was slightly changed, with some outside writers such as Robert Säll (WORK OF ART), Ronny Milianowicz (SAINT DEAMON) and Torsti Spoof (LEVERAGE) handling the bulk of the songwriting, with Dennis Ward still handling the recording and production sessions.
Following his stint with the band UNISONIC, Kiske decided to go back once again to the PLACE VENDOME concept with more melodic rock-oriented songs which — once again — have been selected by Perugino from outside writers, including Magnus Karlsson (PRIMAL FEAR), Timo Tolkki (ex-STRATOVARIUS), Alessandro Del Vecchio (HARDLINE), Roberto Tiranti and Andrea Cantarelli (LABYRINTH, A PERFECT DAY), Tommy Denander (RADIOACTIVE), Sören Kronqvist (SUNSTORM, ISSA), and Brett Jones.
"I am having a very open mind in terms of music anyway, and the PLACE VENDOME vibe is a pretty different approach than UNISONIC," says Kiske. "I like many tracks off the PLACE VENDOME albums, but especially 'Guardian Angel', 'Streets Of Fire', 'I Will Be Waiting', 'Set Me Free' from the previous albums or now 'Maybe Tomorrow'. For me, the vocals are the most important part of a song, of course."
Ward once again produced and mixed the whole affair with such musicians as Dirk Bruineberg (CONSORTIUM PROJECT), Gunter Werno (VANDEN PLAS) and Uwe Reitenauer (PINK CREAM 69) completing the lineup.
"Thunder In The Distance" track listing:
01. Talk To Me02. Power Of Music03. Broken Wings04. Lost In Paradise05. It Can't Rain Forever06. Fragile Ground07. Hold Your Love08. Never Too Late09. Heaven Lost10. My Heart Is Dying11. Breakout12. Maybe Tomorrow13. Thunder In The Distance
The lyric video for the song "Power Of Music" can be seen below.

SEPULTURA: 'The Vatican' Video Released"The Vatican", the new video from Brazilian/American metallers SEPULTURA, can be seen below. The song comes off the band's new album, "The Mediator Between Head And Hands Must Be The Heart", which sold around 1,800 copies in the United States in its first week of release.
Speaking to the Brazilian newspaper Diario de Pernambuco, SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser described "The Vatican" as "one of the tracks that has some death metal influences, whose lyrics tell the story of how the Vatican was created, filled with blood, orgy, murders, corruption, adultery… It's one of the most evil and perverse lyrics I ever wrote."
"The Vatican" video was directed by Rafael Kent and the Okent Films team and was filmed in less than 24 hours in a building in downtown São Paulo, Brazil.
For Kent, the clip had to show, aesthetically, an environment that referred to the Catholic Church, which, in his opinion, was achieved without any need to record or reproduce a temple. "We tried to have some visuals that resembled environments from the Church but were not directly in the Church," he said. "The filming also accompanies this aesthetic; we looked for darker and more obscure scenes giving the impression that the kind of thing that happens in the clip and story are things that happen on the sly."
Kisser believes that the clip represents very well the music and lyrics. "It shows various obscure facets of the church, from corruption to pedophilia, a dark side that many people like to ignore," he said. "The actors were very well selected, all with strong and striking expressions. The video tells the story of a priest who wants to leave the church because of all this dirt, and suffers pressure from the inside not to leave. It's rather heavy and tense."
Added the director: "The lyrics speak of how the Church dominates man's mind, how many years of domination through faith have passed, and the bloody past of the Church…
"We all know dark moments in the Catholic religion.
"One of our concerns (or bets) was 'let's bet on how many places the clip will be banned.' I believe that regarding prohibition, backlash, and so on, this video clip comes with it all."
"The Mediator Between Head And Hands Must Be The Heart" was released on October 29 via Nuclear Blast Records.
Although it was inspired by Fritz Lang's classic 1927 movie "Metropolis", "The Mediator Between Head And Hands Must Be The Heart" is not a concept album or a soundtrack like its precedessors "Dante XXI" (based on "The Divine Comedy") and "A-Lex" (based on "A Clockwork Orange").
"The Mediator Between The Head And Hands Must Be The Heart" was tracked over a 40-day period at producer Ross Robinson's (KORN, LIMP BIZKIT, SLIPKNOT) studio in Venice, California and was mixed and mastered by co-producer Steve Evetts, who previously worked with SEPULTURA on the "Nation" (2001), "Revolusongs" (2002) and "Roorback" (2003) albums, in addition to having collaborated with Ross on a number of other projects in the past. 5

LIVING SACRIFICE: 'Ghost Thief' Title Track Available For StreamingChristian metal veterans LIVING SACRIFICE will release their eighth studio album, "Ghost Thief", on November 12 via Solid State Records. The CD marks the Little Rock, Arkansas band's first release since returning from a multi-year hiatus with 2010's "The Infinite Order", an album that led Alternative Press to declare the band "back at full strength." Pop Matters called the band "masters of their craft," adding that "'The Infinite Order' is proof of why LIVING SACRIFICE is one of the most influential Christian metal bands of all time."
Running the extremes from blisteringly fast to mid-tempo thrash with groove to spare, "Ghost Thief" is a clinic on how a band with a 20-plus-year career can continue to make relevant metal. While the music stretches out sonically, the songs are held together thematically through one dark motif: the fleeting quickness of this life and the idea of an afterlife.
"'Ghost Thief' is a reference to the personification of Death," guitarist/vocalist Bruce Fitzhugh explains. "Depending on the circumstance, death can be greeted as an enemy or a friend. We have a few songs that deal with the suddenness and finality of death. 'Ghost Thief' and 'Sudden' both are inspired by people who died suddenly and unexpectedly. Friends of ours or family members that we were close to."
Produced by DEMON HUNTER's Jeremiah Scott, "Ghost Thief" marks the eighth studio album LIVING SACRIFICE has issued since 1989, when a teenage Fitzhugh and Lance Garvin (drums) first united with friend DJ Johnson and later Jason Truby, determined to create a metal band as musically uncompromising as the secular groups of the day with a positive lyrical message. Practically unheard of at the time and to many quite controversial, the result blew open doors and crossed preconceived boundaries with a mix of thrash and death metal across their first three albums.
The band went through natural shifts over the ensuing years, with some members going on to join bands like P.O.D. and EVANESCENCE. Through the years, however, the constants of Fitzhugh and Garvin, and then mainstays Rocky Gray (guitar) and Arthur Green (bass) since 1998, steered the ship, and LIVING SACRIFICE achieved its goal of helping Christian metal transcend its own boundaries to become something respected and admired throughout the metal realm — a fact evident today in the countless bands LIVING SACRIFICE has influenced.
