CHTHONIC Honored At Taiwan's GOLDEN MUSIC AWARDSWith the most number of nominations, Taiwanese metallers CHTHONIC were honored in the "Best Rock Album" and "Best Band" categories while the band's guitarist, Jesse Liu, won the "Best Musician" award at Taiwan's Golden Music Awards ceremony hosted by Taiwan's Ministry Of Culture and broadcast live by Azio TV this past Saturday, October 26 in Taipei.
Jesse thanked his fellow band members and the judges, while band leader Doris Yeh also thanked her partners for supporting each other along the way when accepting the "Best Band" award. Doris said that it takes a lot of hard work to tour around the world, "if not for the support that we give each other in the band, it would be hard for us to achieve this together." When accepting the "Best Rock Album" award, lead vocalist Freddy Lim gave his thanks every one who participated in the production of the album, including Wu Hsiung, Tang Mei-yun, Chen Ming-chang, Tsai Chen-nan, and Möbius Theatre. "We've completed this very challenging yet very interesting album together," he said. He then dedicated the album to Ng Chiau-tong, the late chairman of the World United Formosans For Independence who passed away two years ago. "We miss your charming smile a lot," he said.
Speaking to the media backstage, the CHTHONIC members continued to express their gratitude to their families, their team, and fans. "Whether you are in Taiwan or elsewhere, the CHTHONIC team and fans are just like a big global family, we are truly thankful of all our partners," they said.
Video footage of the award ceremony can be seen below.
CHTHONIC's seventh album, "Bú-Tik", was released in North America via Spinefarm Records in the U.S. digitally on June 18 and on CD on June 25. The effort was recorded at Sweden's Sweetspot Studio by producer Rickard Bengtsson, who also worked on 2011's critically lauded "Takasago Army" full-length. 2

EYE EMPIRE: 'The War Isn't Over Yet' Lyric Video ReleasedThe official lyric video for the song "The War Isn't Over Yet" from EYE EMPIRE — the band featuring Corey Lowery (STUCK MOJO, STEREOMUD, DARK NEW DAY), B.C. Kochmit (SWITCHED), Donald Carpenter (SUBMERSED) and Ryan Bennett (TEXAS HIPPIE COALITION) — can be seen below. The track comes off the group's new album, "Evolve", which is being released today (Tuesday, October 29).
EYE EMPIRE has built a following through unwavering perseverance. They are true road warriors, sacrificing the comforts of home with an unwavering belief in the dream. Over the past several years, the band has staged more than 600 performances, building a community that has rallied around the mantra "Love, Respect, Support."
The members of EYE EMPIRE all have seen success in the past through other ensembles. With the formation of EYE EMPIRE, however, they have proven a commitment to seeing through what they started. Lowery remembers: "B.C. and I started playing together when he was in SWITCHED, and I knew that he would be the guitar player that I would one day create something special and lasting with. He has a great sense of melody with rhythm and solos and a great understanding of arrangement and what's best for the song. He knows the difference between shredding and holding one note, and making that one note sing. He truly has his own style as an artist."
He continues: "With DC, when I met him on Halloween four years ago, from the first note he sang, I knew he was something special. He treats his voice like an instrument, always focused, pushing himself to finding new voices with each song. Lyrically, he believes in what he is singing. Never preaching, but expressing what he's been through or seen in his life on the road."
And lastly, with the youngest member of the quartet, Ryan Bennett, Lowery reflects: "Simply one of the baddest drummers to come to the rock 'n roll scene in years. Grabbing some of his favorite drummers and making his own style with EYE EMPIRE. He's the guy that is always smiling staying positive until he gets behind the drums then he explodes."
Musically, EYE EMPIRE hasestablished a connection that has witnessed an organic swell. Audiences have grown, and the band is now a bona fide headliner. It has everything to do with chemistry. They push one another to stay fresh. Thus, the chosen title of "Evolve" for the upcoming album, which follows the band's independently released debut, "Impact". As Carpenter shares: "I am deeply connected to this story. You truly have to live by your heart and trust that life will lead you in the direction you are needed. I believed and it led me to EYE EMPIRE. I will never take that for granted."
"Evolve" track listing:

Former THE RUNAWAYS Bandmates LITA FORD And CHERIE CURRIE Reunite On Stage At MALIBU MUSIC AWARDSFormer THE RUNAWAYS bandmates Cherie Currie and Lita Ford reunited on stage for the first time in 37 years on Saturday, October 19 at the sixth annual Malibu Music Awards at Smothers Theater at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California to perform THE RUNAWAYS classic "Cherry Bomb". Fan-filmed video footage of their appearance can be seen below.
Currie, who was honored with the Rock Legend Award at the event, later said of the occasion: "Besides the birth of my son, this is the best day of my life."
Ford and Currie recently collaborated on a Christmas single. Lita told PsychoBabbleTV.com how the collaboration came about: "My old drummer called me, Rodger Carter, and he says: 'Lita, let's record a Christmas song,'" she began. "He's got his own studio; it's called the Doghouse. It's in Encino, California… Reseda. And it's a really nice studio. He said, 'Come over and let's record a Christmas single.' So I thought, 'OK. What do you wanna do? 'Jingle Bells'?' And he said, 'No. Let's write something new.' And I thought, 'OK.' So I got out a pen and paper, and I thought, 'Let's rock this Christmas down.' So we started writing this song called 'Rock This Christmas Down'. And this year, I got in touch with Cherie Currie, who I haven't spoke to in quite a long, long time, who was the lead singer for THE RUNAWAYS. And so it just so happened to be that she was on the phone just shortly after we had finished talking about recording this song. I said, 'Cherie, why don't you sing it with me?' So she flew in from this area, which she just played, and came straight from the airport to the studio, cut the vocal track, and we have a Christmas single with me and Cherie singing lead vocals."
In 2010, the movie "The Runaways" was released starring Kristen Stewart of "Twilight" fame as singer Joan Jett. The band formed in 1975, with Ford on lead guitar. She was 16 at the time.
"The Runaways" was directed by Floria Sigismondi, who is best known for directing music videos by such artists as David Bowie, Marilyn Manson and Sheryl Crow.
In a recent interview with Metal-Rules.com, Lita stated about the possibility of a RUNAWAYS reunion: "Well, Cherie and I talk all the time. We're all for it both of us. You know I'm friends with Vicki [Blue, bass] and I'm friends with Jackie [Fox, bass]. Of course, Sandy [West, drums], unfortunately, is not around, but Joan is the only missing link."
Asked when the last time was that she spoke to Joan, Lita said: "Joan, I talked to Joan… Monsters Of Rock cruise docked in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and when they docked in Fort Lauderdale that night, Joan played in Fort Lauderdale so I went to her concert. It was in March, so that was the end of March, and I… She didn't expect me at the show so I showed up at soundcheck and she went, 'What are you doing here?' I said, 'I came to see you tonight.' I was hoping that she was going to ask me to sing with her [but she didn't]."
Regarding why she thinks Joan seemingly isn't interested in a RUNAWAYS reunion, Lita said: "I don't know. I really don't know, because she doesn't answer my e-mails, but I would love a RUNAWAYS reunion, I would love it. I think it would kick ass." 2

Video: PHILIP ANSELMO Performs At HOUSECORE HORROR FILM & METAL FESTIVALFan-filmed video footage of former PANTERA and current DOWN frontman Philip Anselmo and his solo band, THE ILLEGALS, performing on October 27 in Austin, Texas as part of Anselmo's Housecore Horror Film & Metal Festival can be seen below.
Anselmo's first-ever solo album, "Walk Through Exits Only", sold around 8,700 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 35 on The Billboard 200 chart.
Produced by Anselmo and Michael Thompson, and recorded over the past couple of years at Philip's New Orleans studio, Nodferatu's Lair, with his band THE ILLEGALS — guitarist Marzi Montazeri (ex-SUPERJOINT RITUAL) and José Manuel Gonzales — "Walk Through Exits Only" is abrasive, aggressive, anthemic and 100% Anselmo.
Asked why he felt the need to start another band outside of DOWN, Anselmo told The Washington Times: "If you look at DOWN, we're made up of three different bands, EYEHATEGOD and CROWBAR and whatever the fuck Pepper's [Keenan, guitar] doing, you know; he does a lot of different things. So, we have this flexibility of freedom and dead time is lame. Instead of starting some fucking other band, you know, branding it with a name and having to have people buy into a whole new name, this is something I wanted to do for the long term and something I can do long term because I don't want any other fucking projects. That's the beauty of having a solo band. I can really do what I want. So, 'Walk Through Exits Only' is one expression of music. We have another EP coming out in October that's really completely different than anything that I've put out. And then we're gonna get even more different and base it off the fuckin' mood I'm in, you know? Jesus, It could be an all-acoustic, spoon-playing, flute-playing fuckin', oh man, any type of fuckin' music. I can do it if I feel like doing it. The only two bands I'm in right now, tangibly that I'm going to be working with and putting out records with is DOWN and the solo band. So, it's easy." 1

SHARON OSBOURNE Shoots Down Rumors Of 'The Osbournes' Return To Small ScreenSharon Osbourne has shot down rumors that her family's reality show "The Osbournes" may be returning to the small screen.
Sharon and Ozzy's son Jack revealed in a recent interview that he and his parents "have talked about" the possibility of resurrecting the MTV program, which aired from 2002 to 2005. "It's been thrown around a little bit," he said.
However, Sharon made it clear earlier today (Tuesday, October 29) on her talk show "The Talk" that any reports of "The Osbournes" coming back are "absolutely not true." She added: "We could never touch what was."
In a 2012 interview, Sharon stated about "The Osbournes": "Our lives were never the same again. Everybody's grown up with Ozzy, everybody loves Ozzy, but for us we were a family. You know, we weren't in the public eye at all, and it changed our lives so much."
In "The Osbournes", the legendary singer would often be seen running on a treadmill and getting fit. But he told The Daily Record back in 2009 that it was all a charade. Once the cameras stopped rolling, Ozzy, supposedly a recovering alcoholic, would go to a room and get stoned.
Sharon said: "As Ozzy will tell you, the three years that we were filming, Ozzy was stoned the whole time. He wasn't sober for one day."
Ozzy revealed: "When the filming ended, I'd go in my little bunker and smoke a pipe and drink about a case of beer every day.
"I'd give myself some goodness and get up early in the morning and go jogging for six miles."
Ozzy admitted he couldn't watch the show — because it's obvious by his body language in front of camera that he didn't know what time of day it was.
He said: "I used to do a lot of prescription drugs as well." 3

Entire 'Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem A Klok Opera' Soundtrack Available For StreamingThe original score from "Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem A Klok Opera" can be streamed in its entirety below (courtesy of Yahoo! Music).
In "Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem A Klok Opera", we pick up directly after the abduction of DETHKLOK guitarist Toki Wartooth in the season four finale. With his life in danger, his only salvation can come from the four most selfish human celebrities on Earth — his bandmates, extreme metal band DETHKLOK. The original score from "Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem A Klok Opera" will be released as a full-length album on October 29. And this isn’t just your average metal record — this is a full-blown musical featuring a fifty-piece orchestra. This full-length album features the bonus DETHKLOK single "Blazing Star" and orchestral movements (produced by Brendon Small and Emmy-winning composer Bear McCreary ("Battlestar Galactica", "Walking Dead"). Legendary powerhouse metal drummer Gene Hoglan returns to join Brendon and DETHKLOK. Other musicians include bassist Bryan Beller (DETHKLOK, THE ARISTOCRATS, Joe Satriani), and Mike Keneally (DETHKLOK, Frank Zappa, Joe Satriani).
"Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem A Klok Opera" soundtrack track listing:
01. The Birth/ Fata Sidus Oritur / One of Us Must Die02. Magnus and the Assassin03. Partying around the World04. Tracking/ Ishnifus and the Challenge05. How Can I Be a Hero?06. The Fans are Chatting07. Abigail's Lullaby08. Some Time Ago…09. The Duel10. I Believe11. A Traitor Amongst Them12. Training/ Do it All for My Brother13. The Answer is in Your Past14. The Depths of Humanity15. Givin' Back to You16. En Antris et Stella Fatum Cruenti17. The Crossroads18. Morte Lumina19. Blazing Star20. The DOOMSTAR Orchestra
Says Small: "This is not like anything we've ever done. This is a full-blown musical — metal combined with symphonic passages, classic musical theatre, high-stakes drama, emotional moments, and yes, totally ridiculous comedy.
"I drew from all of my influences to make this the most unique project I could dream of.
"This is easily the best thing we've ever done with the show and the music. I can't wait for you to hear it." States McCreary: "I have been a fan of 'Metalocalypse' for many years, and I am fortunate to call Brendon Small my friend. 'Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem A Klok Opera' provided us the opportunity to collaborate that we'd always been looking for.
"I had a blast helping Brendon realize his vision for a fully-produced orchestral score to accompany his drop-tuned guitars and pounding double kicks. This opera takes his catchy songwriting to a whole new level, and I was thrilled to help out." 11

Funny Or Die is a comedy video web site founded by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay's production company, Gary Sanchez Productions. The site contains exclusive material from famous contributors such as Judd Apatow and James Franco, and also has its own team which creates original material for the site. Many clips on the site feature well-known actors like Charlie Sheen, Ryan Gosling, Patrick Stewart, Daniel Radcliffe and Charlize Theron.
According to The Pulse Of Radio, Manson is joining the cast of the hit ABC TV series "Once Upon A Time". Manson will provide the voice for The Shadow, a being which was first seen at the end of the show's second season and has already appeared in the recently started third year. Manson will make his debut on the season's eighth episode, scheduled to air in mid-November. Show creators and executive producers Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz said in a statement, "We've always been enormous fans of Marilyn Manson. We wanted to cast someone with the vocal ability to make our skin crawl."
The show takes place in the fictional town of Storybrooke, Maine, in which its residents are actually characters from various fairy tales that were transported to the "real world" town and robbed of their real memories by a powerful curse.
The Shadow is a mysterious being that kidnaps young children from their beds to take them back to the fantasy realm of Neverland and steal their souls.
The main storyline of the third season involves the cast traveling to Neverland to search for the character of Henry Mills, who has been snatched by an evil version of Peter Pan.
Manson has appeared in a handful of movies and TV shows before, most recently on the Showtime series "Californication" — where he played himself — and the Sundance Channel program "Wrong Cops".
He has spent most of the past year touring behind his 2012 album, "Born Villain".

METALLICA: Yes, We Are 'Beliebers'In the latest issue of Q, the four members of METALLICA are grilled by the magazine's readers about butt tattoos, catching fire onstage and why Lou Reed shouts in restaurants.
Asked if they were "Beliebers" now that pop singer Justin Bieber has publicly claimed that the METALLICA songs "One" and "Fade To Black" were his "jams," METALLICA frontman James Hetfield said: "Are we Beliebers? Yes." METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich offered: "Is it possible to have respect for him without being a Belieber? I think the kid's really talented and obviously to go through what he's going through at that early age must be a mindfuck. So the fact that he still goes out there and does it, I admire that and I think he's super talented, so I guess I am kind of a Belieber. If he likes 'One', and Liam Gallagher likes him, OK, there you go." METALLICA bassist Robert Trujillo added: "As long as he stays out of trouble, I'll be a Belieber."
A backstage video of Justin Bieber performing an impromptu cover of METALLICA's "Fade To Black" can be seen below. The 15-second clip shows Bieber playing air guitar while he tries to recreate the guitar solo from the classic 1984 METALLICA track with his voice. Bieber is accompanied by his musical director Dan Kanter on guitar.
According to NME.com, Bieber previously revealed that he is a big fan of METALLICA, naming "Fade To Black" and 1988's "One" as two of his favorite METALLICA cuts. "Those are my jams," he told GQ last year.
METALLICA's manager Peter Mensch, who has certainly seen more than his share of childish behavior, told the U.K. tabloid The Sun earlier this year that he would "take Bieber to the woodshed and spank him."
Mensch was asked to comment on Bieber's recent bizarre behavior, who has reportedly seen the 19-year-old pop singer being caught speeding around his neighborhood and getting into altercations with neighbors.
The 60-year-old Mensch reportedly told The Sun that he has warned Bieber that his antics would ruin his career. "His manager Scooter Braun is scared shitless," said Mensch. "I don't know what Bieber's problem is. His career is over in three years anyway." 39

MOTÖRHEAD: European Tour Postponed Due To LEMMY's HealthMOTÖRHEAD mainman Lemmy Kilmister has released the following statement:
"I have to sadly let you know that MOTÖRHEAD has had to postpone the forthcoming European tour until early next year, 2014.
"We have made the decision because I am not quite ready to hit the road yet, and am working my way back to full fitness and rude health. Don't worry — I'm not about to start promoting veganism and alcohol-free beverages, but it is fair to say that I personally have been reconfiguring areas of my life to make sure I can come back fitter and stronger than ever.
"It disappointed me tremendously to have to say I wasn't quite ready to hit the road yet, but not nearly as much as it would've disappointed me to go out, play some average shows and watch my health give way long before the tour was over! When people come to see a MOTÖRHEAD tour, they expect a MOTÖRHEAD show, and that is exactly what you will get as soon as I am fit and ready to rumble.
"Your patience and understanding is appreciated...and know that I'm getting stronger and stronger every day, so watch out next spring Europe and we will see you then.
"Thank you all."
Lemmy recently spoke to U.K.'s Classic Rock magazine about his health issues that have caused the band to cancel a number of European festival appearances this past summer — including shows in France, Germany and Russia. The dates were called off when doctors discovered an unspecified haematoma, a pool of leaked blood gathered in Lemmy's muscles. The legendary rocker is also suffering from Type 2 diabetes, diagnosed more than a decade ago, and has had a defibrillator fitted earlier this year to iron out the uneven bumps in his heart.
"I don't mind you asking about my health," Lemmy told the magazine. "I've been poorly. There's no point lying about it or trying to deny it. I've never done that. It's all part of life's rich tapestry, isn't it? I understand you've got to ask. And I'm feeling better."
According to Lemmy, people are telling him to slow down — that living life at breakneck speed is beginning to take its toll.
"It was the same when people were telling me to stop smoking," Lemmy said. "'You've got to stop smoking, Lem,' they kept saying." "Fuck you. I don't like people telling me what to do, even if they might be right."
Lemmy did, however, stop smoking cigarettes a year ago. "I was having breakfast one morning, coughing and hacking my way through a cigarette and I stopped and thought: 'What am I doing here?'" he explained.
Although it's been reported that Lemmy used to drink a bottle of Jack Daniel's a day, he claims that those days are behind him.
"I stopped drinking Jack Daniel's and Coke because the sugar in the Coke wasn't good for my diabetes," he said. "I don't drink much [anymore]."
Lemmy takes two pills every day for his diabetes, which has affected the circulation in his legs. As a result, his legs stiffen and ache if he walks too far and his back hurts if he stands for too long. "But I can still stand at that mic every night and play my songs," he said. "I wouldn't know about the defibrillator if it wasn't for that fucking lump in my chest," he said. "I'm getting better. By the time this article is out, and the tour comes around, I'll be all right. I'll be ready."
When told that some people have suggested that MOTÖRHEAD's upcoming album, "Aftershock", might be the band's last, Lemmy replied: "Really? Who said that? I've never said that. Phil [Campbell, MOTÖRHEAD guitarist] has never said it. Mikkey [Dee, MOTÖRHEAD drummer] has never said it. We plan to go on. Maybe, if we can't tour any more, we'll just make albums. We'll be like THE BEATLES after 1966."
Lemmy, who turns 68 years old in December, told Classic Rock he didn't expect to still be here at 30,
"I don't do regrets," he said. "Regrets are pointless. It's too late for regrets. You've alreadydone it, haven't you? You've lived your life. No point wishing you could change it.
"There are a couple of things I might have done differently, but nothing major; nothing that would have made that much of a difference.
"I'm pretty happy with the way things have turned out. I like to think I've brought a lotof joy to a lor of people all over the world. I'm true to myself and I'm straight with people."
Asked if his illness this year has made him more aware of his own mortality, Lemmy said: "Death is an inevitability, isn't it? You become more aware of that when you get to my age. I don't worry about it. I'm ready for it. When I go, I want to go doing what I do best. If I died tomorrow, I couldn't complain. It's been good." 7

SEPULTURA: North American Tour Canceled Due To Visa IssuesDue to a delay in the visa process, Brazilian/American metallers SEPULTURA have had to cancel their previously announced North American tour with UNEARTH, KATAKLYSM, DARK SERMON and ANCIIENTS. Attempts to make new arrangements for this time frame were not fruitful and the camp has determined to reschedule the tour for May 2014. All tickets will be refunded.
SEPULTURA's new album, "The Mediator Between Head And Hands Must Be The Heart", was released on October 25 via Nuclear Blast Records.
Although it was inspired by Fritz Lang's classic 1927 movie "Metropolis", "The Mediator Between Head And Hands Must Be The Heart" is not a concept album or a soundtrack like its precedessors "Dante XXI" (based on "The Divine Comedy") and "A-Lex" (based on "A Clockwork Orange").
"The Mediator Between The Head And Hands Must Be The Heart" was tracked over a 40-day period at producer Ross Robinson's (KORN, LIMP BIZKIT, SLIPKNOT) studio in Venice, California and was mixed and mastered by co-producer Steve Evetts, who previously worked with SEPULTURA on the "Nation" (2001), "Revolusongs" (2002) and "Roorback" (2003) albums, in addition to having collaborated with Ross on a number of other projects in the past. 5

ATHEIST Frontman's STONES OF MADNESS Releases 'Hostility' Video"Hostility", the new video from STONES OF MADNESS, the band formed by Scott Thompson (DRY KILL LOGIC) and ATHEIST/NEUROTICA frontman Kelly Shaefer, can be seen below. The song comes off the group's upcoming, self-titled EP, which was recorded at Timeline Studios in Ft. Myers, Florida with producers Scott "Scoob" Bush (former guitarist of THE NIXONS) and Thompson. A late 2013 European release via the Berlin, Germany-based label U-Motion is expected.
The "Hostility" clip was directed by STONES OF MADNESS guitarist Shawn Bowen and the rest of the band, and was shot in the group's hometown of Sarasota, Florida. The song is described in a press release as "an anthemic, harmony filled track full of piss and vinegar, lyrically entertaining the bitterness relationships seem to conjure up."
Formed in 2011, STONES OF MADNESS includes Thompson, Shaefer, former NEUROTICA members G.J. Gosman (drums) and Shawn Bowen, along with Julia Simms (bass).
STONES OF MADNESS is a slightly different venture for Scott, Kelly, Shawn and G.J. who come from more aggressive metal backgrounds. But this project shows how truly diverse their influences really are.
Kelly previously described the STONES OF MADNESS material as "big thick guitars, along with some fucking big catchy vocals.... bashers to sing along with, cranked to 11, of course."

MAYAN: 'Antagonise' Cover Artwork UnveiledMAYAN — the band featuring EPICA guitarist/songwriter Mark Jansen alongside Jack Driessen (ex-AFTER FOREVER) and Frank Schiphorst — will release its sophomore album, "Antagonise", on January 31, 2014 via Nuclear Blast Records. The 11-song CD, which was recorded at Sandlane studio with producer Joost Van Der Broek (REVAMP, STREAM OF PASSION), features guest appearances by Floor Jansen (NIGHTWISH, REVAMP), Marcela Bovio (STREAM OF PASSION) and the Greek virtuozo violinist Dimitris Katsoulis.
The cover artwork for "Antagonise" was created by Stefan Heilemann, who previously worked on MAYAN's debut album, "Quarterpast". Comments Jansen: "The cover is based on the lyrics for our upcoming album, 'Antagonise'.
"Stefan doesn't need any directions; he reads the lyrics and comes up with a phenomenal piece of art. That's why we love working with this guy!
"When Snowden revealed the information about the mass electronic surveillance data mining program called Prism, what quite some people already thought became a proven fact. We all have been spied on for many years and all our data has been backed up and safely stored. It can be used any time it's needed. All of this in the name of 'war against terrorism,' which, in fact, basically is a cover-up and a way to bring fear to people in order to get them under control. This trick has already been used many times in the past. History just keeps repeating itself.
"The media were covering the story, but politicians around the world, and in Europe in particular, didn't know how to react and remained silent. America is an ally, and not just a little one.
"Since it became clear that the NSA (and let's not forget about their British partners in crime of the GCHQ) have also been spying on many world leaders, things have changed. Now it's finally all over the news!
"Is this the beginning of a turning point in history? Or will we allow a small group of elites to take all our freedom away for their own benefits?
"The constitution, the basis of our democracy, is not being respected.
"Don't get yourself fooled, this is not in our interest.
"If you want to see the truth, you'll see the truth.
"We are what we eat!? A bunch of chickens, imprisoned and fully under control with no freedom whatsoever. This is what we will possibly become. If we let it all just happen...
"George Orwell, eat your heart out." "Antagonise" track listing: 01. Bloodline Forfeit02. Burn Your Witches03. Redemption - The Democracy Illusion04. Faceless Spies - National Security Extremism Part 2 Henning Basse (LINGUA MORTIS ORCHESTRA) and Laura Macri recently joined MAYAN as permanent members. MAYAN is: Mark Jansen - grunts, screamsHenning Basse - vocalsLaura Macri - sopranoJack Driessen - keysFrank Schiphorst - guitarRob van der Loo - bassArien van Weesenbeek - drums MAYAN will present "Antagonise" at two Dutch CD-reloease shows: on January 30 at Mezz in Breda and on January 31, 2014 at Tivoli in Utrecht.
Guitarist Isaac Delahaye (EPICA) recently left MAYAN because he "wanted to concentrate on other things."
MAYAN's debut album, "Quarterpast", was released in Europe on May 20, 2011 and in North America on July 12, 2011 via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD was recorded and mixed by Sascha Paeth (EPICA, KAMELOT).

MAD MAX: New 'Interceptor' Teaser ReleasedGerman hard rock veterans MAD MAX will release their new album, "Interceptor", on November 5 (October 28 in Europe) via Steamhammer/SPV. The cover artwork for the CD was created by Thomas Ewerhard and it alludes to Mel Gibson's legendary desert car in the movie classic "Mad Max".
A new two-minute teaser for the album can be seen below.
The four MAD MAX musicians — Michael Voss (vocals, lead guitar), Jürgen Breforth (guitar), Roland Bergmann (bass) and Axel Kruse (drums) — promise "full throttle from start to finish" and sum up the direction of their new record in just two words: "It rocks!" Or, as guitarist Jürgen Breforth puts it: "Whereas some rock groups become insipid and balladesque with time, we've taken the opposite route and deliver nothing but pure energy."
Like its predecessors, "Interceptor" was produced by frontman Michael Voss at his Kidpool Studio in Münster, with the drum recordings completed at the renowned Principal Studios in Senden. The record was mastered at the MSM Studios in Munich, where once upon a time GOTTHARD added the final polish to their works. Breforth says: "This time we made a conscious decision to allow ourselves more external output, yet without overdoing it."
There are ten new songs to marvel at on "Interceptor", including "Turn It Down", the obligatory cover song by THE SWEET. "It's what our fans are used to, so we just have to grit our teeth," jokes Breforth.

SHINEDOWN: 'Adrenaline' Video Released"Adrenaline", the video for the fifth single from SHINEDOWN's 20120 album "Amaryllis", can be seen at Billboard.com. The clip, which was filmed on the Carnival Of Madness tour earlier this year, was shot by Rob Fenn and it "showcases SHINEDOWN's penchant for a high-energy rock show, featuring both video and photo stills taken during the concerts," according to Billboard.com.
"We had the pleasure of having Mr. Rob Fenn on the Carnival Of Madness tour with us this summer," SHINEDOWN frontman Brent Smith said. "He was constantly filming, taking pictures, and documenting the reinvention of the tour.
"We had such an amazing time seeing all of our fans out on the road that we thought: what better way to present the video for our fifth single off of 'Amaryllis' than incorporating all the footage he captured? We hope the fans love it as much as we do."
SHINEDOWN is currently on the road in Europe with ALTER BRIDGE and HALESTORM.
Also on the agenda is the possible release of a collection of covers that the group has recorded, with SHINEDOWN guitarist Zach Myers telling Loudwire: "I'm not sure what's going down with that. Originally we were just going to release it on YouTube, which you don't need permission for, obviously, because people do covers on YouTube every day. But I believe fans really want it as a download . . . Now we're going to release it as an EP with just Brent and I. I believe it will come out during the holidays."
The Carnival Of Madness tour, which also features SKILLET, PAPA ROACH and others, finished up in Puyallup, Washington on September 18.
SHINEDOWN has been on the road steadily since the March 2012 release of its fourth studio album, "Amaryllis". 1

CHTHONIC: 'Next Republic' Video Released"Next Republic", the new Alulu Kuo-directed video from Taiwanese metallers CHTHONIC, can be seen below. The song comes off the band's seventh album, "Bú-Tik", which was released in North America via Spinefarm Records in the U.S. digitally on June 18 and on CD on June 25. The effort was recorded at Sweden's Sweetspot Studio by producer Rickard Bengtsson, who also worked on 2011's critically lauded "Takasago Army" full-length.
With "Bú-Tik", CHTHONIC continue their mission to build awareness of the myths of Taiwan and the tragic events in their country's history. Centered around the story of the 228 Massacre, the Bú-Tik Palace and the Mirror Of Retribution, "Bú-Tik" highlights what bassist Doris Yeh describes as "righteous violence, justifiable defense, and the armed spirits!"
In late October, CHTHONIC will embark on its first-ever acoustic concert tour at century-old bú-tik palaces in Taoyuan, Taichung, and Tainan in line with the theme of the band's new album, "Bú-tik".
In fact, CHTHONIC members have visited Bú-tik palaces around Taiwan as they were preparing for "Bú-tik", and it was during the visits that CHTHONIC first had the idea of having acoustic performances in these historic buildings.
"We wanted to perform in Bú-tik palaces so badly, but we were worried that we may damage the historic buildings," Doris Yeh said. "So we came up with the idea to specially design acoustic concerts for the historic buildings."
In preparation for the acoustic tour, CHTHONIC members have been rearranging songs and repeatedly practicing.
"This is the hardest tour at all. We don't just rearrange the songs, we also have to rearrange our personalities," said lead vocalist Freddy Lim. "We normally just can't stay still, but this is a good chance for us to find our interior calmness," Dani Wang, the drummer, said.
CHTHONIC invited the band CHOCOLATE TIGER, led by their good friend Enno Cheng, as the opening guest, while also inviting popular folk singers as special guests at each of the concert. Two of the guests will be Lin Sheng-xiang and Panai, while the CHTHONIC decides to keep the name of the third guest as a surprise for their fans.
"We can't wait to see these master musicians to perform CHTHONIC music!" Doris said.
Following the unplugged tour in Taiwan, CHTHONIC will be traveling to Europe in early November to join the Norwegian band SATYRICON for a two-month European tour.

BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE Drummer Says New Material Is 'More Of A Step Towards Our First Two Records'Drummer Michael "Moose" Thomas of Welsh metallers BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE tells Billboard.com in a brand new interview that the band has "already started writing for the next album, which is completely different from [this year's] 'Temper Temper'."
"It's definitely more of a step towards our first two records," Thomas says. "We always like to keep changing our records and our sounds and stuff. I think you have to change, otherwise it gets boring for us and the fans get bored. Look at all the great bands through rock history; they changed on all their albums — especially METALLICA. Their albums have always changed, and they're the biggest metal band ever. So we just want to keep changing and get to another level each time out."
BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE frontman Matt Tuck recently told the U.K.'s Rock Sound magazine, "We're actually going to start working on the new record before the (U.K.) arena dates (in early December). We've got (producer) Terry Date coming over from America, we'd like to work with him, he'd like to work with us so we're gonna have a bonding session, write a couple of songs and see how it goes."
Date is known for working with heavier acts like PANTERA, WHITE ZOMBIE and DEFTONES, while BULLET's previous producer, Don Gilmore, is known for more commercial fare like LINKIN PARK.
Tuck said about hiring Date, "When we worked with Don, he was very much focused on chopping parts out and making things concentrated, now we want to work with someone who has worked with bands like PANTERA and DEFTONES, where that mentality was probably not in the game at all. We want someone to go 'it's not big enough' or 'it's not metal enough' and keep us focused on our talents."
Tuck told The Pulse Of Radio a while back that he had no regrets about the band exploring its more melodic side on its last two albums. "The big thing that we've learned is, like, you're not gonna please everyone all the time," he said. "As long as you do what you want to do and the band is happy and you feel you haven't given away your integrity, you know, I don't really care if people go, 'Oh, it's not metal enough, it's not heavy enough.' It's like, that's not what we are."
The singer said that the band already has "four or five song ideas" ready to go, adding, "It's riff after riff after riff after riff so far. We're very much concentrating on musical ability, we're showing off basically! We pulled back a bit from it on the last couple of records, on this one if we do work with Terry Date, I think it'll be a no-holds barred display of what we're about."
BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE is currently finishing up the HardDrive Live/Monster Energy Outbreak Tour.
"Temper Temper" entered The Billboard 200 album chart at No. 13 earlier this year. The latest single from the disc is "Dirty Little Secret". 7

GEOFF TATE's QUEENSRŸCHE At Brazil's MONSTERS OF ROCK: Pro-Shot Footage Of Entire ShowOn October 20, the Geoff Tate-fronted version of QUEENSRŸCHE performed at the Monsters Of Rock festival in São Paulo. Professionally filmed video footage of the entire concert can be seen below.
The band's setlist was as follows:
01. Best I Can02. Breaking The Silence 03. Cold 04. Another Rainy Night (Without You) 05. Big Noize 06. The Mission 07. I Don't Believe In Love 08. Silent Lucidity 09. Jet City Woman 10. Empire 11. Eyes Of A Stranger
During a recent interview with WashingtonTimes.com, Tate was asked if he has noticed any sort of fan backlash due to the split with the other original members of QUEENSRŸCHE. "I hardly have noticed a difference, really," he said. "It's been really kind of smooth sailing. The shows have been well-attended and the energy at the shows is really intense with the band and the interaction with the audience. It's probably actually a little more emotional now than it has been. I think change is probably a good thing."
Asked if it is strange playing QUEENSRŸCHE songs without the other original members of the band, Tate replied: "Oh, not at all, no. Actually, it's a lot more organic now and there's a real camaraderie in the band now. This group of people, we have a real positive kind of energy surrounding the band now that I find really very pleasing. I think that translates to an audience when you're up on stage together and everyone in the band is happy and excited to be there. That translates to the audience. They pick up on that energy too, you know?"
Tate also revealed that he has been "in the studio for the last couple months" working on a new record. He added: "I don't know when it's going to come out yet, probably after the first of the year sometime. I'm not sure yet. [It's] going great, though. A lot of the music's cool. [laughs] I'm enjoying it."
Tate's QUEENSRŸCHE now features Tate along with guitarist Kelly Gray (QUEENSRŸCHE 1998-2001), keyboardist Randy Gane and the band's latest additions, guitarist Robert Sarzo (QUIET RIOT, HURRICANE) and drummer Simon Wright (AC/DC, DIO, RHINO BUCKET).
The Todd La Torre-fronted version of QUEENSRŸCHE's new, self-titled album sold around 13,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 23 on The Billboard 200 chart. The record arrived in stores on June 25 via Century Media Records.
"Frequency Unknown", the latest album from the Geoff Tate-fronted version of QUEENSRŸCHE, opened with around 5,500 units to debut at No. 82.
"Queensrÿche" marks the debut release from the lineup comprised of Todd La Torre (vocals; ex-CRIMSON GLORY), Michael Wilton (guitar), Parker Lundgren (guitar), Eddie Jackson (bass) and Scott Rockenfield (drums).

ANGRA: 'Angels Cry' Performance Clip From 'Angels Cry 20th Anniversary Tour' DVDBrazilian melodic metallers ANGRA celebrated the 20th anniversary of the release of their 1993 debut album, "Angels Cry", with a special concert on August 25 at HSBC Brasil in São Paulo, Brazil.
As a means of celebrating its successful trajectory, the band took the opportunity to schedule a small tour through Brazil and Latin America, which culminated with the show in São Paulo, after 11 dates. If there was any aura of uncertainty towards the future, ANGRA shook it off for good with a very special concert, truly a night to remember. As guitar player Rafael Bittencourt put it, "For those who think we should quit, I tell you: we're just getting started". That pretty much summons up the very apparent joy that the band showed onstage, not only that night, but on the whole tour.
A stellar team of guests made everything even more special. Tarja Turunen, formerly of NIGHTWISH, lends her talent and angelic voice on two songs: "Stand Away" and Kate Bush's "Wuthering Heights". On the latter, the legendary Uli Jon Roth (SCORPIONS) is also featured, and shows why he is such a reference for the majority of guitar players around the world. The Brazilian string quartet FAMILIA LIMA appears in three songs, and drummer Amilcar Christopharo, from the band TORTURE SQUAD, grabs the sticks on "Evil Warning", representing the metal bands from Brazil.
"Angels Cry 20th Anniversary Tour" will be released as a separate DVD and a double CD, containing over 20 tracks in total and extra behind-the-scenes footage captured during the latest tour.
A performance clip of "Angels Cry", taken from "Angels Cry 20th Anniversary Tour", can be seen below.
ANGRA's setlist was as follows:

Former ANGRA singer André Matos celebrated the 20th anniversary of "Angels Cry" by performing the LP in its entirety on his recent solo tour, which kicked off in March. The show consisted of two parts, with the first part focusing on the material André wrote and recorded with SHAMAN and VIPER, as well as during his solo career.
ANGRA tapped acclaimed Italian vocalist Fabio Lione (VISION DIVINE, RHAPSODY OF FIRE, KAMELOT) to front the band for its most recent live performances, including an appearance aboard 70000 Tons Of Metal, the world's biggest heavy metal cruise, which sailed on January 28 from Miami, Florida and returned to the real world on February 1.
Singer Eduardo "Edu" Falaschi quit ANGRA in May 2012. He explained in a statement, "There comes a moment in a man's life when it is necessary to make a radical decision in order to move forward with dignity and renewed energy."
Falaschi joined ANGRA in 2000 and appeared on the band's last four studio albums — 2001's "Rebirth", 2004's "Temple Of Shadows", 2006's "Aurora Consurgens" and 2010's "Aqua".
ANGRA has yet to announce a permanent replacement for Falaschi, who is focusing on ALMAH and other projects. 3
