MY DYING BRIDE: Video Footage Of Bucharest Concert

MY DYING BRIDE: Video Footage Of Bucharest Concert

Rolland Adrian of Bloodbath.ro has uploaded video footage of MY DYING BRIDE's October 26 performance in Bucharest, Romania. Check it out below.

The band's setlist was as follows: 01. Kneel Till Doomsday02. Like Gods Of The Sun03. The Raven And The Rose04. From Darkest Skies05. Turn Loose The Swans06. The Whore, The Cook And The Mother07. Like A Perpetual Funeral08. My Body, A Funeral09. The Cry Of Mankind10. She Is The Dark11. The Dreadful Hours

MY DYING BRIDE released a new EP, "The Manuscript", on May 13 via Peaceville Records on CD and vinyl.

"The Manuscript" contains four new and exclusive songs; a dark voyage spanning over 27 minutes of supreme doom in the unmistakable MY DYING BRIDE style of heaviness mixed with dark tales of foreboding. It was recorded and mixed at Futureworks Studios in Manchester, U.K. with the band's longtime producer, Rob "Mags" Magoolagan.

Comments the band: "'The Manuscript' features four monstrous tracks of brilliantly crafted metal that only MY DYING BRIDE can do, with swathes of doom laden melancholy, harmonic beauty and thundering death metal all combined in their trademark sound. Four tales of tragedy, loss and bitter vengeance greet the listener with an added assault on the emotions too, leaving the soul grey and limp. There is beauty here, but it's carrying a dark blade."

In a recent interview with Metal Forces, MY DYING BRIDE vocalist Aaron Stainthorpe stated about the songs that appear on "The Manuscript": "They're very similar to 'A Map Of All Our Failures', because they were written and recorded at the same time, except for one song. That really stands out… [laughs] It's full-on sort of epic death metal; it's swords and axes, a proper warrior battle kind of track that's almost medieval in flavor. You can almost picture the scene; it's set in a snowy kind of mountainous landscape. There are sound effects and all sorts of mayhem going on in it, and death metal vocals not quite all the way through it, but near enough."

MY DYING BRIDE's latest full-length album, "A Map Of All Our Failures", was released on October 15, 2012 in Europe and October 16, 2012 in the U.S. via Peaceville Records on CD, double vinyl and special-edition CD+DVD.

DEAD BY APRIL To Release

DEAD BY APRIL To Release 'Let The World Know' In February

Swedish melodic metal outfit DEAD BY APRIL is putting the finishing touches on its third studio album, "Let The World Know", in mid-February via Spinefarm Records.

The band's previously announced European tour — initially announced for November/December this year — will now take place in March 2014.

Comments the group in a statement: "Our work on upcoming album, 'Let The World Know', has exceeded the initial deadline. We want to make this record absolutely perfect in every way, which has taken more time than expected.

"We can't wait to perform these songs for you all as we're very proud of this album!! All the best, and sorry for any inconvenience."

An audio sample of the new DEAD BY APRIL song "Done With Broken Hearts" can be streamed using the SoundCloud widget below.

DEAD BY APRIL's new CD is the follow-up to 2011's "Incomparable" and is the first to feature brand new vocalist Christoffer Andersson (SONIC SYNDICATE, BY NIGHT) following Jimmie Strimell's departure earlier this year. DEAD BY APRIL issued a statement in March blaming the split with Strimell on "Jimmie's personal problems." The band added: "His problems has affected the band for many years and we have basically tried everything we could to make this work. We have even gone through group therapy lately to get honesty and sincerity into the group. As nothing changed, we had to realize that if we want to move forward with this band, there's, unfortunately, no other way but to continue without Jimmie. We're sick of not knowing whether he'll turn up for shows, recordings and sick of having such bad environment within the band — at all times. It came to a point where we could not be in the same vehicle. We also want to strongly declare that DEAD BY APRIL is against drugs — an important statement for us to make in a time were we know a lot of our fans are young."

A photo of the new DEAD BY APRIL lineup can be seen above.

CHASTAIN: New Song

CHASTAIN: New Song 'Deep Down In The Darkness' Available For Streaming

The reformed CHASTAIN — featuring Leather Leone on vocals — will release its comeback album, "Surrender To No One", on November 19 via Leviathan Records.

"Surrender To No One" track listing:

01. Stand And Fight02. Call Of The Wild03. Deep Down In The Darkness04. Freedom Within05. I Am Sin06. Rise Up07. Evil Awaits Us08. Fear My Wrath09. Save Me Tonight10. Surrender To No One11. Bleed Through Me

The song "Deep Down In The Darkness" can now be streamed using the audio player below.

Audio samples of all the "Surrender To No One" tracks are available for streaming at Amazon.com.

Guitarist David T. Chastain and Leather Leone have been writing material since January. Also back in the saddle is original bassist Mike Skimmerhorn. The drum tracks for the CD were recorded by Stian Kristoffersen (PAGAN'S MIND, FIREWIND) since original drummer Fred Coury is still busy touring with CINDERELLA and other projects.

The Leather-fronted version of CHASTAIN recorded five CDs in the mid-to-late 1980s: 1985's "Mystery Of Illusion", 1986's "Ruler Of The Wasteland", 1987's "The 7th Of Never", 1988's "The Voice Of The Cult" and 1990's "For Those Who Dare". After the "For Those Who Dare" tour, David and Leather amicably went their separate ways but kept in touch over the years.

Leather last year released the debut album from her SLEDGE LEATHER project, "Imagine Me Alive". The CD was inspired in 2010 when Leather called Sandy Sledge to collaborate on the Ronnie James Dio track "Egypt" for a demo tribute recording. Due to the overwhelming response for more material, SLEDGE LEATHER was born and was confirmed for Germany's Keep It True festival in April 2011.

Regarding the new CHASTAIN material, David stated: "We are trying to write and record music that is expected of us but with some modern twists and turns. We demoed up 20 tracks and it was difficult to leave any of them off the CD. Stian did an amazing job with the drum tracks and his performance is probably the best drumming on any CHASTAIN release to date."

Leviathan Records in 2010 released "The Reign of Leather", a collection of CHASTAIN tracks Leather had a hand in writing during her glory days with the band. Leviathan also reissued two of the classic CHASTAIN CDs with Leather: "The 7th of Never" and "The Voice Of The Cult". Both were digitally remastered and are in their original unedited versions.

AEROSMITH

AEROSMITH's STEVEN TYLER Continuing Work On Solo Album

During a short chat with the Boston radio station WZLX earlier today (Thursday, October 31), AEROSMITH vocalist Steven Tyler told mid-day host Carter Alan that he is "finishing up some songs" for long-in-the-works solo debut, which is tentatively due next year.

You can now listen the entire conversation using the audio player below.

Tyler recently told The Pulse Of Radio that his plans to go out on his own should not be a cause of concern for AEROSMITH fans. "I'm just doing a solo record because I think it's kinky, you know, to go write a song with Johnny Depp," he said. "I think it's ridiculous to go, you know, write a bunch of songs that I started five years ago and never finished. It feeds my passion, you know. But, no, the band's not breaking up. Me doing a solo record doesn't mean the band's not working on a record, you know what I mean? But I get that in the press one has to hear that from one lead singer of one AEROSMITH." Tyler issued his first-ever solo song, called "(It) Feels So Good", in May 2011 while serving as a judge on "American Idol".

The AEROSMITH frontman recently teamed up with the South Korean pop star Psy on a new record. In an interview with Italian magazine L'Uomo Vogue, Psy said, "When I was in middle school, I literally cried when AEROSMITH were singing 'Crazy' or 'Amazing' or whatever. They were my lifetime role models, and now I am collaborating with Steven Tyler. What the fuck, man? I love my life."

AEROSMITH's latest album, "Music From Another Dimension!", came out in November 2012 and debuted at No. 5 on The Billboard 200 album chart, selling 63,000 copies in its first week of release.

SIX FEET UNDER: Illness Forces

SIX FEET UNDER: Illness Forces 'East Coast Armageddon' Tour Postponement

Veteran death metallers SIX FEET UNDER have released the following statement:

"Bad news... Illness of a close family member of one our band mates unfortunately has forced postponement of East Coast Armageddon until late January continuing into February. Our sincerest apologies to all of our fans. We will see you all in January."

Capital Chaos TV has uploaded video footage of SIX FEET UNDER performing the song "Shadow Of The Reaper" on July 17 at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco, California. Check it out below.

SIX FEET UNDER earlier in the year parted ways with drummer Kevin Talley and replaced him with Marco Pitruzzella.

Marco previously played with SIX FEET UNDER bassist Jeff Hughell in BRAIN DRILL.

SIX FEET UNDER's tenth full-length album, "Unborn", was released on March 19 via Metal Blade Records. The follow-to to 2012's "Undead" was mixed by Chris "Zeuss" Harris, who has previously worked with SUICIDE SILENCE, ALL THAT REMAINS, SHADOWS FALL and SOULFLY, among others.

"Unborn" was released as an exclusive European box-set edition which included the limited digipak of "Unborn" and a bonus track entitled "Illusions". Additionally the box featured a poster, a patch, two pins and a sticker plus enough space for last year's "Undead" album. The bonus track was featured on the vinyl version of "Unborn" as well.

Members Of METALLICA, TOOL, ALICE IN CHAINS, HALESTORM Others Share Halloween Stories

Members Of METALLICA, TOOL, ALICE IN CHAINS, HALESTORM Others Share Halloween Stories

With Halloween here (Thursday, October 31), The Pulse Of Radio asked some of its favorite rockers to share their thoughts, memories and experiences on this scary holiday. HALESTORM singer Lzzy Hale told The Pulse Of Radio about one of her favorite early costumes growing up in Pennsylvania. "My favorite one was when I dressed up as Peter Pan because I was a little tomboy as a kid, so it was like, my parents let me do it and my dad made me this sword, and they caught a little bit of flak from the neighbors for that," she said. "They were like, she should be whatever the female character is in that movie and they were like, 'No, she wanted to be Peter Pan!' I'm just glad Arejay [Hale, Lzzy's brother and HALESTORM drummer] didn't want to be Tinkerbell -- he was one of the lost boys in that year."

ALICE IN CHAINS drummer Sean Kinney admitted that he spent most of his Halloweens in the same costume. "I probably spent all my tiny boy years dressed as Peter Criss from KISS — 'bout every year until, what is it, last year," he said. "I mean, that was pretty much my thing. I'd looked forward to that. My sister'd paint me up in the cat makeup and I'd paint my hair and I'd go out there and bring my drum sticks and I loved it, you know. That was my moment, you know. I'd still do it."

TOOL drummer Danny Carey told The Pulse Of Radio that he played one of his more memorable early gigs on Halloween. "I think it was probably '87 or maybe '88, and I was playing a Halloween show with GREEN JELLO, the PYGMY LOVE CIRCUS and HAUNTED GARAGE, the three kind of big psycho bands of L.A. at that time," he said. "That was a pretty memorable night. That was kind of when I had first moved to L.A. too, I guess, so it was one of my first really heavy L.A. experiences, seeing all the weirdos coming out of the woodwork."

METALLICA's James Hetfield shared an embarrassing childhood memory about a costume he once had to wear. "I wanted to be Batman, but my mom made me a suit. You know, she was good at sewing, and she made me this thing, and I was like a giant tiger with the ears and everything. [laughs] Oh my God! There's a picture of me at school in the, you know, the school picture, and I got this goofy outfit on with the little whiskers and everyone else is like cowboys and stuff, and I'm sittin' there in my tiger outfit, and I don't think it was what I wanted to be. But that's what happened. [laughs]"

Guitarist Virus from David Draiman's band DEVICE did dress up as Batman when he was a kid, although he doesn't expect to put on the cowl this year. "God, I was Batman and I loved it. Felt invincible, man. I don't think I'll be busting it out this year [laughs] and my stepdaughters are old enough where they don't do the fun stuff where they dress — you know, they're not little girls anymore, so I'll probably just — I'll just sit home and give out candy."

Video: ICED EARTH Performs New Song

Video: ICED EARTH Performs New Song 'If I Could See You' In Paris

Fan-filmed video footage of North American metallers ICED EARTH performing a brand new song, "If I Could See You", on October 25 at Bataclan in Paris, France as the support act for VOLBEAT can be seen below.

ICED EARTH will release its new album, "Plagues Of Babylon", in January 2014 via Century Media Records. The cover artwork was created and illustrated by Eliran Kantor (TESTAMENT, ATHEIST, SIGH, ANACRUSIS, GWAR).

Says ICED EARTH vocalist/guitarist Jon Schaffer: "This is a seriously heavy album with a seriously brutal album cover. I'm sure it will go down as a classic in the epic ICED EARTH catalog."

"Plagues Of Babylon" track listing:

01. Plagues Of Babylon02. Democide03. The Culling04. Among The Living Dead05. Resistance06. The End? 07. If I Could See You08. Cthulhu09. Peacemaker10. Parasite11. Spirit Of The Times12. Highwayman

Speaking to Metal4 magazine at the Rockharz open-air festival in Germany in July, Schaffer said about the upcoming CD: "It's a bit of a different thing for us, because it's half of a concept and the other half is [standalone] tracks. Musically, I think it's just another step in the right direction. It's really heavy, it's very melodic. It has a really epic feeling. Even though there isn't, like, a monster, long epic track, the overall feel of the songs is very epic. I mean, there's no 'Dante's Inferno' or 'Gettysburg' or the 'Something Wicked' trilogy or something like that on here, but I'm really happy with it."

ICED EARTH recently parted ways with drummer Brent Smedley for "personal family reasons." He has since been replaced by Raphael Saini (CHAOSWAVE).

ICED EARTH has been hitting it relentlessly, with the recent studio album, "Dystopia", being the most toured album in the band's illustrious history.

One of the many highlights of the "World Dystopia Tour", a headline show at the historic Kourion Amphitheatre in Cyprus, was recently released on Blu-ray, DVD and in many other formats under the title "Live In Ancient Kourion".

"Dystopia" was released in October 2011 via Century Media Records. The CD marked the band's recording debut with singer Stu Block (INTO ETERNITY), who joined ICED EARTH in March 2011 following the departure of Matt Barlow.
