According to King5.com, Electra Mustaine, the daughter of MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine, and Jason Kertson, the grandson of Rob Lind, a member of THE SONICS, a Seattle-area band that helped shaped the punk rock music sound in the '60s, have teamed up for a special concert to benefit Operation Ward 57, a non-profit organization that helps wounded servicemembers and their families.

Electra and Jason performed their version of the MEGADETH song "A Tout Le Monde" on King 5 TV's "New Day" with Margaret Larson, then joined Margaret to talk about their families' respective musical legacies and why it's important for them to respect and support the military. Brittney Hamilton, founder of Operation Ward 57, shared more about the work the group does and praised Electra, Jason and other young people who take such an active role to salute and support the military.

Electra and Jason will perform this Thursday, August 22 with local band LADY JUSTICE at Louie G's in Fife, Washington. The show begins at 7:00 pm and tickets are $5 (suggested donation) at the door.

"The Wild Hunt", the new album from Swedish black metallers WATAIN, is available for streaming in its entirety in the YouTube clip below. The CD will be released on August 19 in Europe and August 20 in USA via the band's own label His Master's Noise through Century Media Records.

Produced once again by Tore Stjerna at his Necromorbus studio in Alvik, Sweden, "The Wild Hunt" is a sonic and lyrical tour-de-force that explores WATAIN's roots, such as BATHORY and DISSECTION, while also remaining truly unique. Having lost none of their integrity, WATAIN continues to push the boundaries of the scene with their fifth full-length, refusing to compromise their sound and vision. Amid the tracks teeming with the band's classic sound, "The Wild Hunt" also features clean vocals (a first for the trio!) which, as frontman Erik Danielsson puts it, "is just us being brutally personal and honest. It shows another important facet of the WATAIN world."

Executed in oil and mixed materials, the cover of "The Wild Hunt" was created by Zbigniew M Bielak, the very same artist who was responsible for the "Lawless Darkness" artwork. The piece depicts one of the inmost shrines of WATAIN's temple. As on every classic still life, each object has a significant meaning, while each song of the album is also connected to an object.

Interview:

The lyric video for the song "Valley Of Shadows" from former MISFITS guitarist Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein can be seen below. The track was released as a single on June 25 via iTunes.

Like the other 10 songs on Doyle's new album, "Abominator", "Valley Of Shadows" is rife with horror imagery, while telling the tale of a sick and twisted love story. Doyle's nuclear guitar riffs are mixed to melt speakers, while Alex Story's screaming vocals add to the sonic attack that is "Abominator".

"Abominator" was made available worldwide on iTunes and all digital music services on July 30.

The effort, which has been called "perhaps the best MISFITS-related record in over a decade," also features Alex Story (CANCERSLUG) on vocals, "Left-Hand" Graham on bass and Dr. Chud (MISFITS) on drums.

PUSCIFER answers the enduring question of what exactly Puscifer is with a new DVD release titled "What Is…", which is due on November 26 via Puscifer Entertainment.

The two-hour sketch comedy show-meets-concert film builds upon and punctuates the multimedia format of the band's live performances with skits from the stable of PUSCIFER characters such as Billy D, Hildy and Major Douche woven into the performance footage of the Maynard James Keenan-led (TOOL, A PERFECT CIRCLE) quintet.

"Being surrounded by so many talented and creative people is an endless source of inspiration," explains Keenan. "This film only scratches the surface of how deep our proverbial rabbit hole goes. 'What Is… Puscifer' is meant to conjure as many questions as it answers." An accompanying soundtrack will be released simultaneously.

PUSCIFER's concerts have been praised for their out-of-the-box take on what a live performance can be, with the Orange County Register saying "the production… matters as much as the music" and describing the event as “a thought-provoking, senses-jabbing statement on a variety of topics.” The Dallas Morning News called the evening "an idiosyncratic experience" while the Austin Chronicle referred to the concert as a "multimedia prop dramedy."

Also coming from PUSCIFER this fall is a limited-edition Black Friday (November 29) release titled "Puscifer's 8-Ball Bail Bonds - The Berger Barns Live In Phoenix". The nine-song live album will be available on red vinyl at independent record stores nationwide.

Washington D.C. metallers DARKEST HOUR recently completed a successful North American tour supporting KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, and wasted no time getting back to work. Upon returning home, the band immediately headed to Oceanic Studios to begin pre-production with producer Taylor Larson.

Comments DARKEST HOUR guitarist Michael Schleibaum: "When John Henry [vocals] and I started the band some 18 years ago, we could have never imagined the sound would travel this far.

"The making of this record (dating back to January of 2012) was both a painful and joyful one and the end result has become something truly transcendent.

DARKEST HOUR's new album will be released in early 2014 via Sumerian Records.

The band's sixth CD, "The Human Romance", sold around 3,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 185 on The Billboard 200 chart. The effort landed at position No. 3 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

U.K. glam metal legends TIGERTAILZ will release their new EP, "Knives", the second week of October via Scarlet Records. The CD was recorded at Red Rock Studios in South Wales.

"Knives" is the first new music from TIGERTAILZ in almost six years, a new dawn that sees the band step it up on every level.

Drummer Matt Blakout recently rejoined the 'TAILZ lineup after a three-year absence and teamed up with Jules Millis (vocals), Rob Wylde (bass) and Jay Pepper (guitar).

Commented Pepper: "I'm absolutely delighted to see Matt back in TIGERTAILZ. Not only is he a great solid drummer and true professional, but a lovely guy too... Matt also brings stability to the 'TAILZ lineup which, after three years of grief, is more than welcome. It's really great to have him back and be working together again."

Ex-STONE TEMPLE PILOTS singer Scott Weiland has apologized to the group's fans who are "caught in the middle" of his very public legal battle with his former bandmates.

STP fired Weiland earlier this year and recruited LINKIN PARK's Chester Bennington to take over.

The group sued Weiland in May, accusing him of using the band's name to advance his solo career, while claiming that his poor performances, late arrivals, and addiction struggles harmed the band's career.

Weiland has countersued, claiming that the band cannot use the STONE TEMPLE PILOTS name without him.

During Scott's solo performance at the Trocadero in Philadelphia this past Saturday night (August 17), a number of fans organized a "Fuck you, Chester" chant. Weiland thanked the fans for the support and added, "It's just a big 'ol planet, a big 'ol universe and in a big circle, it all works out. Anyway… Actually, Chester has his own band that makes a lot of money. I'm not really quite sure why he joined a band who is actually nameless."

He continued: "The problem is I shouldn’t have said anything at all and I apologize to those fans out there who are, feel like they’re caught in the middle of it, cause I sure feel like I'm caught in the middle of it emotionally, and all I want to do is play music, man."

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, featuring Chester Bennington, will release an EP this fall, in conjunction with a North American tour that kicks off on September 4 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and winds down on September 27 in Las Vegas.

Weiland told The Pulse Of Radio that he and Bennington were good friends before this, but he doesn't see Bennington's move as a betrayal. "Yeah, I mean, I've known Chester for a long time," he said. "I got to be pretty close with him on the Family Values tour. I don't think Chester did it in a spiteful way. The brothers DeLeo [Dean, guitar and Robert, bass], they can be pretty persuasive."

Weiland recently embarked on a new run of solo tour dates beginning on August 2 in Los Angeles. As with his other shows earlier in the year, Weiland is playing material from STP's first two albums, "Core" and "Purple", as well as a smattering of covers, solo tunes and other STP tracks.

Weiland's use of STP songs in his solo shows was reportedly one of the reasons why the band sacked and then sued him. The band members claim that this, along with his erratic behavior and substance abuse issues, damaged their career.

Danish rock singer Maryann Cotton (born Jackie Patino), the son of KING DIAMOND bassist Hal Patino, has announced via his Facebook page that legendary rocker Alice Cooper "has written material" for Cotton's sophomore album, tentatively due in early 2014. Alice's involvement will be featured on three songs, along with his former collaborator Dick Wagner.

"My meeting with Alice Cooper in Germany went so well," says Maryann. "He was such a nice guy and I can't wait to go in the studio and record the songs they have written. It takes me back to my childhood when I listen to the tracks by Dick Wagner and Alice Cooper.

"Thank you so much for a great time together and for all your help and support, I really appreciate it!

"My biggest inspiration and hero of all time, Alice Cooper!"

Wagner is producing the new Maryann Cotton CD, which will be "a full concept album," with "the most terrifying horror story ever," according to a press release. Also set to make a guest appearance on the effort is KING DIAMOND guitarist Andy La Rocque.

La Rocque previously played on Cotton's debut CD, last year's "Free Falling Angels", on the tracks "Crazy", "Night Train To Paris", "Miss Misery", "Shock Me" and "Maryann".

Maryann Cotton debuted his new band on September 14, 2012 at Amager Bio in Copenhagen, Denmark.

"Free Falling Angels" was released on June 15, 2012 via Pure Steel Records. The CD featured guest appearances by four musicians who performed on KING DIAMOND's 1990 album, "The Eye" — Hal Patino, guitarists Andy La Rocque and Pete Blakk, and drummer Snowy Shaw.

Maryann Cotton's career was launched in 2006 when he performed live on Danish TV as part of the "Scenen Er Din" program (Danish version of "Star Search").

Razor & Tie has announced the addition of the Southern California rock trio KYNG to its worldwide label and publishing rosters. The band is currently well into the writing and recording of its forthcoming studio album, with a single expected later this year.

KYNG will hit the road in late August with SEVENDUST, 10 YEARS, MONSTER TRUCK and AMERICAN FANGS and will join the Hellpop Tour with IN THIS MOMENT, MOTIONLESS IN WHITE and ALL HAIL THE YETI beginning October 24.

KYNG comments: "We are very excited to announce that we have signed a record deal with the illustrious Razor & Tie. We are over the moon about being on such a great label and being a part of an incredible roster of bands, including our brothers THE SWORD! We will have new music out for you soon. Formed in 2008 in Southern California, KYNG's sound features a unique and universally appealing combination of heavy and captivating concepts, channeling influences from BLACK SABBATH, LED ZEPPELIN to the FOO FIGHTERS and QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE. KYNG's versatile approach of a sweet devastation bleeds from an artistic drive toward a momentum described as "California Heavy."

The band's well-received first album, "Trampled Sun", was released independently in 2011 with Loudwire calling it "a hard-hitting fusion of rocking goodness," and Ultimate-Guitar stating, "if they keep churning out records as good as 'Trampled Sun', they will be mentioned right up there with MASTODON and the like."

KYNG is singer/songwriter Eddie Veliz, bassist Tony Castaneda and drummer Pepe Clarke Magana.

Drummer Jeff "Oly" Olson has rejoined THE SKULL, the band he formed with fellow original member of Chicago doom-metal legends TROUBLE, vocalist Eric Wagner, and the band's longtime bassist, Ron Holzner.

Olson states: "I know that I've mentioned that I wouldn't perform TROUBLE's music anymore unless it's with the other original members, but I've had a change of heart. I want to rock again.

"Although I have been having a great time playing keys for IN-GRAVED (led by former PENTAGRAM guitarist Victor Griffin), I miss the drums and playing classic TROUBLE songs. I'm still going to jam with Victor, but there is room for THE SKULL too."

He adds: "In just a few short months, 2014 will mark the 30th anniversary year for TROUBLE's debut record, 'Psalm 9'. TROUBLE guitarists Rick Wartell and Bruce Franklin are having fun with their new record, and I had fun writing some intros for it. It's just that Eric, Ron, and myself want to jam too and celebrate our 30th anniversary as well with a tour and a new record. We've worked just as hard as Bruce and Rick over the years and we feel that we've earned the privilege to celebrate with the fans as well. There is no animosity between the two bands and we intend to keep it that way."

"We are currently writing a debut record, set for release in 2014 and I've already submitted several songs to the guys. Excitement is in the air."

THE SKULL's debut CD will be produced by Billy Anderson (HIGH ON FIRE, SLEEP, NEUROSIS) this autumn in Portland, Oregon and will be released via as-yet-undetermined record label.

According to The Pulse Of Radio, FOO FIGHTERS frontman Dave Grohl was asked by XFM in the U.K. for his thoughts on the upcoming 20th anniversary reissue of NIRVANA's "In Utero", the final studio album by the band and second that Grohl played drums on. Grohl said, "I recognize myself back then and I remember what it was like to be in the band but it's hard to believe that that much time has gone by. A lot has happened in those 20 years, when I think about 'In Utero' and what the world was like, what my life was like back then, it's strange."

He added, "From the time that 'Nevermind' came out in September of 1991 to the time that NIRVANA was over, it was really just a few years and a lot happened in those few years. I look back at this album and looking at the packaging and the old pictures and listening to songs that I haven't heard in 20 years, all of these rarities and demos, it's kind of a trip."

NIRVANA did record some demos after "In Utero" came out and cut its final song, "You Know You're Right", in 1993. Grohl recalled the sessions for that track: "We had some time off before a tour, and Kurt [Cobain] wanted to go in and demo some stuff, so I said, 'Hey, why don't we do it at this studio down the street from my house.' And we went down there, and we had three days booked. Kurt came in the last day and we were like, 'Okay, what do you wanna do?' And Kurt said, 'Well, why don't we do that song we've been doing at soundcheck?' And so we rehearsed it, I think, once, and then recorded it. Kurt did three or four vocal takes, and that was it."

A previously unheard instrumental called "Forgotten Tune" will be among the 70 tracks included on the three-disc deluxe reissue of "In Utero", which is set for release on September 24.

The rest of the material on the jam-packed set will consist of remastered, remixed, rare and unreleased demos, B-sides, alternate takes and live recordings, along with two different mixes of the 12-song album.

The "In Utero" package will be issued in several configurations, including a three-CD/one-DVD "Super Deluxe" edition, plus two-CD, three-LP and digital versions.

Grohl also told XFM that FOO FIGHTERS have finished writing their eighth studio album and plan to record it "in a way that no one's ever done before." The disc is likely to come out in 2014.

"Metallica Through The Never", filmmaker Nimród Antal's captivating 3D movie featuring one of music's most enduring and iconic bands, will premiere at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival on Monday, September 9 at 7:30 p.m.

Says the band: "Now in its 38th year, Toronto International Film Festival is the most respected and prominent film festival in North America with many major films making their worldwide debuts there (last year's festival brought in nearly 300 feature films from over 70 different countries!). 'Through The Never' will screen in the special IMAX at TIFF section and we'll be on hand for the red-carpet premiere, to introduce the film and will spend some time in Toronto to chat with the press."

IMAX Corporation and Picturehouse have announced that "Metallica Through The Never" will be digitally remastered into the immersive IMAX 3D format and released wide in North America exclusively into IMAX theatres for a one-week engagement starting Friday, September 27. The film will expand into additional theatres on October 4.

Starring METALLICA, a cast of thousands of their fans and breakout star Dane DeHaan ("Chronicle", "The Amazing Spider-Man 2"), "Metallica Through The Never" is written and directed by award-winning filmmaker Nimród Antal ("Predators", "Kontroll") and produced by former IMAX film producer Charlotte Huggins ("Journey To The Center Of The Earth"). The film marries groundbreaking footage and editing techniques with a compelling narrative, in which a band crew member (played by DeHaan) is sent out on a mission during METALLICA's roaring live set in front of a sold-out arena. While on this mission, he unexpectedly has his life turned completely upside down.

The IMAX 3D release of "Metallica Through The Never" will be digitally remastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience with proprietary IMAX DMR (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX's customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio, create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.

Speaking to Collider.com, DeHaan stated about "Metallica Through The Never": "It's, in a way, like a 3D concert movie but there's also this narrative that ties together all the footage. It's gonna be, first of all, really rock and roll and really 'METALLICA,' for lack of a better word; they don't hold back at all. But during the concert, I basically go on this trip as a roadie for the band and I pretty much literally have to go through hell and back to take it back to them, and all of this is going on during the concert, so it all ties together really kind of beautifully and uniquely. It's unlike anything that I've ever seen before; it's almost like a concert movie meets 'The Wall' meets METALLICA."

Ulrich cited the 1976 LED ZEPPELIN movie "The Song Remains The Same" as a major influence on "Metallica Through The Never", explaining to Classic Rock, "There are four members in LED ZEPPELIN, four members in METALLICA, it's a full-length movie, and there's a lot in this film that does not take place onstage. The major difference is that the stuff that takes place offstage in the METALLICA movie does not feature any members of METALLICA. It's two separate worlds — a METALLICA show and a story that unfolds in a parallel universe — and at some point they intertwine."

The ZEPPELIN film interspersed concert footage with fantasy sequences starring each member of the group.

Steamhammer/SPV has announced the signing of EAT THE GUN. The trio, consisting of Hendrik Wippermann (vocals, guitar), Gereon Homann (drums) and new addition Peter Bergmüller (bass) will release its 10-song fourth studio album, "Stripped To The Bone", in November. A single, "Loner", will precede the full-length CD in October.

Says Wippermann: "Steamhammer/SPV have always been our favorite label, not least because of MOTÖRHEAD, so we're really happy to be working with Olly Hahn and his excellent team from now on. We can hardly wait to hold the new CD with the legendary Steamhammer/SPV logo in our hands. Definitely a magical moment for us."

Formed in 2002, EAT THE GUN has released the studio albums "Cross Your Fingers" (2006), "Super Pursuit Mode Aggressive Thrash Distortion" (2009) and "Runner" (2011) and made the top ten of the German DJ Metal/Rock chart for eight weeks in 2009 and the Top 20 of the American college radio chart in 2011. The band has played more than 650 concerts to date, inspiring fans at the Taubertal Festival, the Big Day Out and the Wacken Open Air and appearing alongside acts such as DIE TOTEN HOSEN, HIM, DANKO JONES, DUFF MCKAGAN's LOADED, DONOTS, MUSTASCH, BACKYARD BABIES and HARDCORE SUPERSTAR.

For Steamhammer/SPV's A&R manager Olly Hahn, the signing of EAT THE GUN marks a special moment, too. "I have been watching this band for some time and am really impressed with their latest material," he says. "Every time I hear the songs, I can't suppress a big grin. We and the band's many fans are guaranteed to have lot of fun with 'Stripped To The Bone' this coming November."

Chicago doom metal legends TROUBLE have announced the addition of bassist Rob Hultz to the group's ranks.

Hultz is no stranger to the heavy metal, hard rock, and doom metal genres as his lengthy music resume boasts. While still in high school, he joined an East Coast hardcore band called SOCIAL DECAY which served as his introduction to recording and touring. After a decade, he left with the guitar player to form the doom metal band GODSPEED and was signed to Atlantic Records. Their debut album was recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York and produced by Rachel Bolan of SKID ROW. The band was represented by Gloria Butler Management and toured with iconic bands such as BLACK SABBATH, DIO and CATHEDRAL, to name just a few.

In 1996, Hultz helped form SOLACE, another notable doom metal band, which was signed to Meteor City Records, and played large arenas, clubs, and festivals such as Roadburn and Hellfest. Their last recording, "A.D.", was released on Small Stone Records in 2010 and voted Best Metal Album of the Year on iTunes. Since then, Hultz has lent his talents on projects for LETHAL AGGRESSION and DISEASE CONCEPT.

Commenting on the band's decision, TROUBLE founder and guitarist Rick Wartell states, "Bruce Franklin and I played the bass parts on 'The Distortion Field', with the exception of one song. However, as we began preparing to tour in support of the album, it became really important to choose the right person for the band. Rob is not only a great bass player but also a total pro with an impressive band history, and he's got the TROUBLE personality so he definitely fits in well. We look forward to him joining us on the road and being a bandmate for a long time to come."

Hultz has already begun rehearsals and will debut live with the band for a series of European show dates scheduled for October 2013, the details of which are still pending and will be announced separately.

"The Distortion Field", the first studio album in six years from TROUBLE, sold around 760 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 25 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

Due in Europe on August 23 via FRW Records, the 12-song follow-up to 2007's "Simple Mind Condition" was helmed by veteran producer Bill Metoyer (SLAYER, W.A.S.P., ARMORED SAINT, DARK ANGEL, SACRED REICH, CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER, D.R.I.) and marks the recording debut with TROUBLE of lead singer Kyle Thomas following the departure of the group's frontman of four years, Kory Clarke (of WARRIOR SOUL fame).

KATATONIA, Sweden's master of dark rock, have released a lyric video for the reworked version of "The One You Are Looking For Is Not Here", taken from the group's upcoming "Dethroned And Uncrowned" album. The song originally appeared on KATATONIA's critically acclaimed 2012 release "Dead End Kings", which has been reimagined on "Dethroned And Uncrowned".

"Dethroned And Uncrowned" will be made available on September 10 in North America and will mark the band's first release on Kscope — sister label to KATATONIA's longtime home Peaceville Records — to celebrate the label's fifth anniversary.

KATATONIA guitarist and founding member Anders Nyström commented: "The synopsis is simple and album title won't lie; the drums will be dethroned and the distorted rhythm guitars will be uncrowned! Instead, we'll place the emphasis on the many layers of ambience, with the melodies staying central and the vocal harmonies representing the heart of the album.

"Think of the album like a person's face in the hands of a surgeon, whose appearance is gonna change, but it's still the same person behind that face and we guess an important factor, in this case, would be that the surgeon itself is obviously KATATONIA, not a stranger! The album was funded by a successful PledgeMusic campaign that helped make the recording possible.

"Firefly", a brand new song from American progressive metallers FATES WARNING, can be streamed below. The track comes off the band's eleventh studio album, "Darkness In A Different Light", which will be released on September 27 via InsideOut Music. Featuring founding guitarist Jim Matheos alongside classic-lineup members Ray Alder (vocals) and Frank Aresti (guitar), longtime bassist Joey Vera and drummer Bobby Jarzombek, the CD was produced by Matheos and mixed by longtime FATES WARNING engineer Phil Magnotti. The effort was mastered by mastered by Maor Appelbaum (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, SEPULTURA, ANVIL) at Maor Appelbaum Mastering in California. The cover artwork was designed by Conte di San Pietro.

Says Alder: "'Firefly' is very personal to me in more ways than one....

"After I had written the melody for this song, I knew immediately what the title was going to be, as well as the subject; it just fit the mood.

FATES WARNING will embark on a North American tour in November. The trek will launch November 15 in Joliet, Illinois and wrap December 14 in Seattle, Washington.

The "Parallels" lineup of FATES WARNING played a number of shows in 2010 in support of the released special edition of the album, which was made available through Metal Blade Records. In addition to remastered audio, there is a second audio disc of live and demo material. The package also includes a DVD with nearly three hours of material, including a complete live show from the 1992 "Parallels" tour and a documentary on the making of "Parallels" which includes live, studio, and current day interview footage with all the band members, Terry Brown (producer) and Brian Slagel (CEO of Metal Blade Records).

FATES WARNING's last CD, "X", was released in 2004 on Metal Blade Records. The follow-up to 2000's "Disconnected" was recorded at Carriage House studios in Stamford, Connecticut and features cover artwork by renowned record-cover artist Ioannis (DREAM THEATER, SEPULTURA, DEEP PURPLE, BLUE ÖYSTER CULT, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, KING CRIMSON, BIOHAZARD, VOIVOD, UFO, OVERKILL).

Speaking to AOL's Noisecreep at this year's Inferno festival, Satyr stated about SATYRICON's upcoming album: "To me, it sounds very authentic, it's organic-sounding. And in this digital age where music is mostly played through computers, a lot of that analog vibe gets lost in translation when you play music through medias like that, but I still wanna do it because there's nothing quite like it. To me, it just makes everything sound the way it's supposed to sound — it's dynamical; the music is alive, it's not overly compressed, the levels are not pushed. So, musically speaking, it's a very atmospheric record… This record is full of life. There are a lot of surprises here, but I think it's gonna be a record that's gonna help the black metal movement perhaps find a new way for the future."

SATYRICON has always pushed boundaries and never conformed to what was "expected". That mindset continues to this day, as they awill take part in a very special, exclusive show on September 8 at Oslo's Norwegian National Opera House, where they will perform together with Norway's 55-strong National Opera Chorus.

Hungarian extreme metallers EKTOMORF have entered the studio to begin recording their new album for an early 2014 release via AFM Records.

EKTOMORF's most recent CD, "Black Flag", was released on August 31, 2012 via AFM. The cover was once again created by German illustrator and designer Tim Eckhorst, who previously did illustrations for the Wacken Open Air festival and various other bands.

EKTOMORF's very special "acoustic" album, "The Acoustic", was released on February 17, 2012 via AFM Records. The CD contained cover versions (LYNYRD SKYNYRD's "Simple Man" and "Folsom Prison Blues" by JOHNNY CASH), re-recorded EKTOMORF classics ("I Know Them", "Redemption", "Who Can I Trust", "Stigmatized" and "I'm In Hate"), plus five brand new tracks, written specially for this release.
