AMBASSADOR GUN Reveal New Album DetailsNow aligned with Prosthetic, Minnesota-based grind trio AMBASSADOR GUN is set to deliver a heavy-hitting album that will feature each individual element that makes the band unique – grindcore mixed with death metal-infused thrash and blended with some punk and crust elements. This unique combination will form the upcoming release Golden Eagle, due out October 22nd.
According to Luke Olson, Golden Eagle was an album title and a concept before most of the tracks were even written. Some (but not all) of the album lyrics center on Native American culture at the turn of the 19th century ("Theft, murder, harassment, duress, war," Olson says). The band tracked the album themselves and self-produced.
Olson stated, “We had all intentions this time to record and mix the album ourselves. From the start, we knew we wanted a raw and crusty tone with a lot of mid. In the past we’ve worked with some amazing people, including Steve Austin (TODAY IS THE DAY), Adam Tucker and Jeff Halland, but I felt the three of us had a certain sound we needed conceptually for this record. Tim Sieler captured everything we set out to hear and it came out great."
Golden Eagle tracklisting
'Wounded Knee'
'Christbastard'
'Slowbled'
'Warpainted'
'Sunshine Acid'
'Sever Ties'
'Crack Ikon'
'Chris Brown'
'Unleashed'
'Circle the Lord Of Flies'
'No Suffering'
The band's self-produced video for 'Wounded Knee' can be seen below:

HALESTORM On WDVE 102.5 FM: Video Interview, Acoustic PerformanceOn August 28, Sean of the WDVE 102.5 FM radio station conducted an interview with HALESTORM prior to the band's "Carnival Of Madness" tour show at Stage AE in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. You can now watch the chat below. Also available is video footage of a two-song acoustic performance.
HALESTORM has unveiled the dates, cities and venues for a late fall headlining U.S. tour sponsored by Jägermeister. The trek gets underway on November 8 in Mobile, Alabama, wrapping up on December 15 in Orlando, Florida. Special guests on the bill will be IN THIS MOMENT and EVE TO ADAM. Tickets for the road trip go on sale this Friday (September 7).
HALESTORM has been slogging through the hottest summer on record these past few weeks on the Carnival Of Madness tour, and Lzzy Hale told The Pulse Of Radio that playing outdoors in the heat can get to you after a while. "It's always a crazy show, especially when we're outside," she said. "We spent like seven days straight in Texas and the weather was just incredible, like just oppressive heat. And, you know, you lose your mind a little bit during those shows [laughs], you really do, because it's just hot and like, you get to a certain note or something that you're gonna hit, and then all of a sudden you're like, 'Oh, don't pass out, don't pass out!' [laughs] So it's a little crazy."
"I Miss The Misery", the second single from HALESTORM's current album "The Strange Case Of…" , is a Top Five track at Active Rock radio.
Hale was named the "Hottest Chick in Hard Rock" in Revolver magazine's annual round-up of the sexiest female rockers, beating out contenders like Lee, IN THIS MOMENT's Maria Brink and LACUNA COIL's Cristina Scabbia.

Report: SOUNDGARDEN Single Coming Next WeekAccording to The Pulse Of Radio, a new SOUNDGARDEN song called "Been Away Too Long" will be shipped to rock radio stations next Wednesday (September 19). The track will be the first official single from "King Animal", the Seattle grunge legends' first all-new album in 16 years. In related news, Hits Daily Double has reported that the band is signing a new worldwide record deal with Universal Music Group, with "King Animal" tentatively coming out through the Universal Republic label on November 13.
SOUNDGARDEN drummer Matt Cameron told The Pulse Of Radio that the band's 2010 reunion after 13 years apart never felt contrived. "You know, it never really felt forced or anything to try to make a big comeback and, you know, make a reunion happen, 'cause it can certainly backfire," he said. "I think we wanted to just approach it very methodically, and I think we've been doing so."
The band recently launched a web site and teaser video for "King Animal", which included an excerpt from a track called "Worse Dreams".
The only new SOUNDGARDEN song to be heard in its entirety so far is "Live To Rise", which was the lead single from the soundtrack album of the blockbuster superhero film "The Avengers" this past summer.
SOUNDGARDEN's last full-length album was 1996's "Down On The Upside". The quartet disbanded the following year. Singer Chris Cornell embarked on a solo career and also joined AUDIOSLAVE, while Cameron became a member of PEARL JAM in 1998.
SOUNDGARDEN has yet to announce live plans for the rest of 2012 and beyond.

ANDY LAROCQUE Says KING DIAMOND "Has A Lot Of Ideas In His Head About The Next Album"Arto Lehtinen from Metal-rules.com spoke with legendary KING DIAMOND guitarist and producer Andy LaRocque recently about a number of topics. A few excerpts from the chat follow:
Metal-rules.com: Was it obvious that it (your return to the stage) was going to be Sweden Rock and Hellfest?
LaRocque: "No, we didn't know that at the time, but we started talking about maybe doing a few things around Halloween as for last Halloween I believe. So we started talking about the possibilities about doing some things, but then again what stopped us was King's health, you know. He had problems with his back and also some problems with the heart. He did like a triple bypass surgery a year and a half ago. So we didn't really know, I mean we were waiting for him to get recovered until we could say anything. But we actually started talking about it maybe about a year ago, something like that."
Metal-rules.com: As you said it was a test for King Diamond how he was able to survive. But I guess it was really encouraging because he sounded really good and the band sounded really tight. I assume you are going to continue in the next summer right?
LaRocque: "Yes, next summer we're actually, we are electing promoters for festivals letting them know that we are actually available for next summer's festivals. So we'll see how many festivals we can get. But that's our goal to do as many festivals as we can within the timeframe here to next summer."
Metal-rules.com: It's about five years since the Give Me Your Soul album. You must have started checking out some new songs, new riffs. Can you tell a little bit more, if you have started talking about making new songs?
LaRocque: "Yeah we did and we were actually talking about starting writing songs this fall, but I started many years ago. So I think I already have like five or maybe six songs already for the next album, more or less ready I would say. I don't really think that King has come that far in the writing process, but he has got a lot of ideas in his head about the next album, I know that."
Metal-rules.com: How do you usually start creating a riff and new songs in general for the Diamond albums? 153503.jpg
LaRocque: "Usually it's like a riff that could be formed into a second riff and then you build it up from there. It could actually be some kind of atmospheric stuff. It doesn't really have to be a good riff it can also be a chain of chords that sounds very cool together. So it's really hard to say a specific thing about that, but usually it's a riff and then we build it up from there and I've got my own studio. So I usually go put on the computer and try to record the riff as soon as I have a chance to do that. So I got a few really good riffs in the computer that's for sure. And then what we do is like we started with like a click track or a tempo, BPM, like let's say just for example it's 120 or whatever and then we just record it with that click track for a few minutes. And then for me for example I got like a sequence drum like the easy drummer for example, like a drum machine in the computer. So I put on a few loops of drums and I start to build up the song from there and then when I'm finished with that whole thing for like three or four minutes or whatever how long that song is usually two guitar tracks, drums all the way through even though it's kind of simple drums to leave it open for Matt (Thompson), when he's doing the real drums in the studio. Then I also put some bass on it and possibly some keyboards and then I burn it down to a CD and send it away to the guys."
Metal-rules.com: Do you ever miss the old school writing process that each member makes their own things at home then you get together in the rehearsal room and start rehearsing? Or is this the normal way to work nowadays?
LaRocque: "Yeah that's the normal to work nowadays like sitting in front of the computer writing riffs and sending them to each other I believe. But sometimes you miss the charm with being in the rehearsal room, but for us it's not possible since we live all the world, we've got the bass player in Denmark, we've got Michael in Stockholm, we've got King and Matt they live in Texas. So it's like impossible to do it that way nowadays. So we just send it to them, the guys rehearse their stuff and then when we get to the studio, they all know what to do."

King Diamond made his return to the live stage (after recovering from open-heart triple-bypass surgery in November 2010) at the Sweden Rock Festival 2012, held in Sölvesborg on June 9th and June 15th at Hellfest in Clisson, France.
At Sweden Rock, the band performed 'Halloween' off of his 1986 debut album Fatal Portrait. King was joined by Mercyful Fate guitarist Michael Denner and MOTÖRHEAD (and former King Diamond) drummer Mikkey Dee for this song. Check out footage below: 10

THE HAARP MACHINE: 'Pleiadian Keys' Video ReleasedU.K.-based progressive extreme metal juggernaut THE HAARP MACHINE has created quite a buzz within the metal world upon announcing its worldwide signing to Sumerian Records. However, most people don't realize how forward-thinking this band is and how attuned they are to the socioeconomic issues that plague today's society. Their message and music is truly the definitive of progressive metal.
Expect the band's debut full-length album, "Disclosure", to definitely turn some heads. The disc is set for an October 16 release and the new video, for the track "Pleiadian Keys", can be seen below.
A series of specially priced pre-order bundles can be found now at this location.
Commented THE HAARP MACHINE guitarist Al Mu'min: "Our debut album is an amalgamation of many influences across the spectrum and lyrically addresses many of the socioeconomic and political issues in our society today. We hope it will open doors for listeners and broaden their musical horizons as well as spark an interest in areas that dictate our lives, but are swept under the rug to maintain the status quo and keep the populace aloof to the sick capitalist venture of the big money cartels. We feel very fortunate to be in this position and wish to use this opportunity to spread the word on social change via the application of the scientific method for the betterment of humankind. There IS an alternative to the un-sane society we live in and it is our duty to this planet and all its inhabitants to awaken the sleepers. We can no longer ignore the writings on the wall. The time for change is now."

ABSU - 'Hall Of The Masters' Video ReleasedMythological occult metal discoverers ABSU announce the release of their new video, produced for the anthem 'Hall Of The Masters', courtesy of this year's Adult Swim Singles Program. Once again, the band has showcased their signature style of occult black/thrash mythology to dark, new, calculating territories. The audio was recorded earlier this year at Nomad Recording Studios in Carrollton, Texas and mixed by J.T. Longoria, the video for the song then filmed by director Daniel Garcia.
Stated ABSU vocalist/drummer Proscriptor on the creation of the visual magnum opus: “’Hall Of The Masters’ is a conceptual video concerning the wedlock between a speculum of apparitions and the rite of transfiguration. The mortality featured in the video is unexpectedly visited by the Elder Ones and swept from Earth by the form of the Master. Every dream of man and woman is superlatively coiled by the Lamia!”
Watch the new video below:
This November the Absu clan will take their blackened craft to South American audiences on a venture through Columbia, Chile, and Brazil, with performances flanking MYSTIFIER, MASSACRE, MASTER and more along the way.
The band's live itinerary can be found at this location.
