TEN To Release

TEN To Release 'Heresy And Creed' In October

Frontiers Records will release TEN's new studio album, "Heresy And Creed", on October 19 in Europe and October 22 in North America.

For the band's tenth studio CD, TEN singer and songwriter Gary Hughes worked very hard to live up to the fans' expectations. The new TEN lineup — featuring new axeman Dan Mitchel, Darrel Treece-Birch on keyboards and Max Yates on drums, along with longtime member John Halliwell and returning bassist Steve McKenna — has complemented Hughes's efforts in creating the best TEN album ever.

According to a press release, "Heresy And Creed" "once again marks the perfect union between grandiose and epic hard rock tunes. Very melodic, hook-laden singalong songs with a scattering of immense and haunting power ballads to complete the typical TEN tapestry."

Says Gary Hughes: "It is a particularly strong selection of material. I feel this is possibly our most mature, and diverse collection of songs ever. There is literally something in there for everyone and every taste."

"Heresy And Creed" track listing:

01. The Gates Of Jerusalem (instrumental)
02. Arabian Knights
03. Gunrunning
04. The Lights Go Down
05. Raven's Eye

Report: SOUNDGARDEN To Sign With UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP

Report: SOUNDGARDEN To Sign With UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP

According to HITS' industry insider I.B. Bad, reformed grunge legends SOUNDGARDEN is in the process of signing with Universal Music Group in a worldwide deal put together by Max Hole, chief operating officer of UMGI (international division of Universal Music Group), and Lucian Grainge, UMG's chairman and chief executive officer. In the U.S., the first album under the agreement will be on former Warner Bros. Records Chairman/CEO Tom Whalley's Seven Four Ent. imprint through Universal Republic Records.

Although a release date for SOUNDGARDEN's sixth full-length studio album and first in 16 years, "King Animal", has not been officially confirmed, Rolling Stone recently reported it as November 13.

The band launched a web site and teaser video for the disc, which includes an excerpt from a song called "Worse Dreams". Aside from the track "Live To Rise", which appeared on the soundtrack to "The Avengers", this is the first new music heard from the band since 1996's "Down On The Upside" album.

Drummer Matt Cameron told The Pulse Of Radio it wasn't long after the band reunited in 2010 that they realized they wanted to make a new album. "When we got together in a room to rehearse for some shows and write some new music, we felt re-energized and we felt like we still had something to say musically," he said. "Who knows if we'll have the same type of impact, but I think what's super-important for us is that we really like playing this type of music together, and we know that we still have a core fan base out there that is excited to hear what we have to offer."

Guitarist Kim Thayil told Rolling Stone that the new record "re-establishes that we still rock, we're still heavy, and we're still a little weird."

METALLICA's August 24, August 25 and August 27 concerts at Rogers Arena were shot in 3D for the band's upcoming feature-film project.

The group earlier in the year tapped award-winning director Nimród Antal to helm the movie. Charlotte Huggins ("Journey To The Center Of The Earth", "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island") is producing.

The film will be a marriage of narrative and concert and will star the "five" members of METALLICA — James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, Robert Trujillo, and the fans. It will be released in the summer of 2013.

Antal is best known for writing and directing the Hungarian-language film "Kontroll" (2003) that won several awards, including the Award of Youth at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival and the Gold Hugo prize at the Chicago International Film Festival. He also received a European Film Award nomination for Best Director. His credits include "Vacancy", starring Kate Beckinsale and Luke Wilson, and "Armored", starring Matt Dillon and Laurence Fishburne. In 2010 he was hired by Robert Rodriguez to direct "Predators", featuring Adrien Brody.

Ulrich did hint to Rolling Stone a few months back what the film might be like, saying, "Imagine if you took [LED ZEPPELIN's concert film] 'The Song Remains The Same', which is 75 percent concert, 25 percent other stuff, and flipped it around. And all the non-concert footage, instead of being about the band members, is a story that unfolds, set against the backdrop of the concert."

PAUL GILBERT:

PAUL GILBERT: 'Vibrato' Album Details Revealed

Music Theories Recordings, a division of Mascot Label Group, has announced the October 15 U.K. release of Paul Gilbert's 12th solo album, "Vibrato". The CD includes four new guitar and vocal compositions, four instrumentals, plus three live cover songs from Gilbert's 2010 "Fuzz" tour, including YES's "Roundabout", MUDDY WATERS' "I Want To Be Loved" and AC/DC's "Go Down".

"Vibrato" will follow Gilbert's appearance at Marshall Amplification's "50 Years Of Loud" concert at London Wembley Arena on Saturday, September 22. The concert celebrates 50 years of Marshall Amplification's musical innovation and the life of the late Jim Marshall.

As a member of both the '80s premiere guitar band RACER X and MR. BIG, Gilbert has gained the reputation as one of the most melodic and powerful guitarists in rock.

Determined not to be pigeon-holed as a guitar shredder, Gilbert's solo work has allowed him to exercise his deep appreciation for the more song-oriented side of rock music.

The "Fuzz" live tracks includes guitarist and singer Tony Spinner, who adds some amazing vocals, and some killer guitar battles and harmonies. "Roundabout" is especially impressive in that all the keyboard parts are played on guitar. Jeff Bowders (drums) and Craig Martini (bass) also perform on the live tracks.

One of the instrumental tracks on the album is Dave Brubeck's "Blue Rondo A La Turk". Its groundbreaking odd-time instrumental classic from the '60s is supercharged by Gilbert's electric guitar playing the saxophone parts, backed by his ridiculously tight band.

"Vibrato" track listing:

01. Enemies (In Jail)
02. Rain And Thunder And Lightning
03. Vibrato
04. Put It On The Char
05. Bivalve Blues
06. Blue Rondo A La Turk
07. Atmosphere On The Moon
08. The Pronghorn
09. Roundabout
10. I Want To Be Loved
11. Go Down

ENSLAVED: Making Of

ENSLAVED: Making Of 'RIITIIR' Artwork (Video)

"RIITIIR", the twelfth studio album from Norwegian progressive extreme metallers ENSLAVED, will be released in Europe on September 28 and in North America on October 9 via Nuclear Blast Records.

The band has now released video footage of Norwegian artist Truls Espedal's creation process for the CD artwork, featuring a narration by ENSLAVED vocalist/bassist Grutle Kjellson. Check it out below.

Espedal previously stated about his creative process for "RIITIIR"'s album artwork, his seventh cover for ENSLAVED: "This process has become a tradition; a tradition that works very well for me, with a lot of artistic freedom. First, an e-mail or text from the band asking if I'm ready, and then a phone conversation with Grutle and Ivar a week prior to us having a meeting. On the phone they give me an album title, some insight into the theme and their ideas, then a brief talk about different visual symbols/elements, which will be incorporated. A week later, I'm on a plane to meet them. We spend a day where we discuss the visual ideas I've come up with, eat good food, drink and listen to some of the new music. Before I leave, we have agreed about the sketches made during the day. Back home, now with a deadline, I get to work and don't talk to them before the artwork is finished.

"ENSLAVED's music is constantly evolving and expanding, and we early on decided that the artwork should reflect this. From my first collaboration with the band on [2001's] 'Monumension' and forward, we have slowly merged different aspects into the work; what we wanted to do now was to further expand and change things up a bit, without losing the connection to earlier work. It still has a strong sense of symbolism, symmetrical compositions and references to Norse art. But there is an even bigger emphasis on realism on 'RIITIIR', which hopefully adds atmosphere to the finished work.

"This was the first time I had the whole album to listen to from the get-go. So for more or less 90 percent of all the hours spent in my studio, 'RIITIIR' was on constant repeat on the stereo and I truly believe that had a major impact on both the process and the finished result. The music influenced both the whole dynamics in the studio as well as choices made in color palette and atmosphere; it more or less dictated the mood of the paintings.

"Another difference this time was that I switched from acrylic paint to oil painting. So the front and back cover will be my first official ones in oils. This change gave me a challenge when it came to the deadline because of the drying rate and so on, but it felt right for the visual ideas we had decided on.

"The collaboration with Ivar and Grutle feels even more organic and natural than ever. Even though it is something that is a few years in-between, it always seems like we are on the same page. There are a lot of the thoughts and ideas in their work that I feel can be found in my own private paintings."

Added ENSLAVED guitarist/songwriter/founding member Ivar Bjørnson: "The collaboration between [Truls], myself, and Grutle [Kjellson, vocalist and bassist] was closer, more understanding and powerful this time than ever before in our more than decade-long cooperation. The album concept and our feelings connected to it hit home instantly with Truls, in the same way that his initial ideas resonated intensely with us from the second he shared them with us."

A track-by-track review of "RIITIIR" is available at Terrorizer.com.

"It has been only two years since we last released an album [2010's award-winning 'Axioma Ethica Odini'], and we've been touring Europe and North America several times since then," reflects ENSLAVED guitarist, songwriter, and founding member Ivar Bjørnson. "Some might think that this schedule, and the fact that we celebrated our 20th anniversary last year, should result in some time off in the end. Nah. Like a space vessel that gains momentum by entering slingshot-orbits on its way through space, we seem to gain speed, direction, and strength on our journeys, through new releases and subsequent tours.

"Describing the sound on the new album is both easy and hard," Bjørnson continues. "It is easy because it sounds like ENSLAVED, whatever that means. It is hard because there are so many layers and different focal points. I have a feeling that it has a deeper complexity than our previous efforts, but at the same time, I do find it more catchy and moving. Then again, I am the opposite of objective in this, so again I'll leave it up to the people outside the band to make up their mind."

The track listing for the "RIITIIR" European and North American digipak is as follows:

01. Thoughts Like Hammers
02. Death In The Eyes Of Dawn
03. Veilburner
04. Roots Of The Mountain
05. Riitiir
06. Materal
07. Storm Of Memories
08. Forsaken

The track listing for the "RIITIIR" 2LP double-gatefold is as follows:

01. Veilburner
02. Roots Of The Mountain

WENDY DIO Marries Longtime Boyfriend In California

WENDY DIO Marries Longtime Boyfriend In California

Congratulations are in order for Wendy Dio (pictured below), the widow of legendary heavy metal singer Ronnie James Dio (DIO, BLACK SABBATH, RAINBOW, HEAVEN & HELL), who married her boyfriend of the past two decades, Omar Gimenez, this past Sunday, September 9 in a private ceremony among family and friends in Montecito, California.

Étoile Weddings, whick took care of the planning for the event, tweeted a photo that was taken immediately after the wedding.

In a May 2011 interview with Brazil's Roadie Crew magazine, Wendy was asked about accusations that she was cashing in on Ronnie's death by continuing to release new product and merchandise from her ex-husband in the months following his death. "I feel very, very, very sad," she replied. "It's very hurtful, but I know what I'm doing for the fans. I know what Ronnie and I had together, so, you know, it's a shame that people say things like that, but people do always say things like that. I'm sorry for them. Most of the fans are fantastic; [they are] wonderful fans that loved Ronnie so much and who know that I wouldn't do anything to hurt Ronnie's reputation. We've always fundraised. Ronnie and I always fundraised. For animals, for children, for everything. It's only right that I continue in Ronnie's aim to do that."

Asked whether she believed that those accusations were rooted in the fact that she and Ronnie were not involved as a couple for many years prior to his passing, Wendy said, "Maybe. But in any relationships there are ups and downs. You part, and you go back. Then you part and you go back. Ronnie and I married in 1974. It's a long time to be together with somebody who is a musician. Sometimes there are ramblings of people who don't really know you, who don't really know what's going on… These people always say things."

LED ZEPPELIN:

LED ZEPPELIN: 'Good Times' Audio Snippet From Forthcoming O2 Concert DVD/CD

An audio snippet of the song "Good Times, Bad Times" from the forthcoming double-CD / double-DVD release of LED ZEPPELIN's 2007 reunion show in London can be streamed in the YouTube clip below. The set is tentatively due in late November.

On Saturday (September 8), the band started a five-day countdown on its Facebook page, leading some fans to believe that an official announcement is coming on Wednesday (September 12).

With the entire rock world going insane with "ZEPPELIN" fever in the weeks and months following the reunion show, Robert Plant — who was the lone hold-out on any future ZEPPELIN gigs — was asked how he stayed calm with all the excitement centered around the band. "Well, I don't think anybody actually asked that question, to be perfectly frank — apart from the media. So, here I am, just doing what I do," he said.

Jason Bonham, the son of late ZEPPELIN drummer John Bonham, who was behind the kit for the performance at London's O2 Arena, told The Pulse Of Radio he's eager to own some sort of document of the event. "I know it probably was recorded. I mean, there was cameras there and everything, but I'm not too sure of what the process is there," he said. "Me, personally, I'd love to get a, y'know, a version of it that I could — you know, stay with me forever. It'll be there forever in my mind, but to get a chance to watch it back is sometimes only when you realize what you've done."

Back in 2008, Jimmy Page spoke about the O2 gig to Uncut, saying, "It was recorded, but we didn't go in with the express purpose of making a DVD to come out at Christmas, or whatever. We haven't seen the images or investigated the multi-tracks. It's feasible that it might come out at some distant point, but it'll be a massive job to embark on."

LED ZEPPELIN's set list on December 10, 2007 at London's O2 Arena:

01. Good Times, Bad Times
02. Ramble On
03. Black Dog
04. In My Time Of Dying
05. For Your Life (live debut)
06. Trampled Underfoot
07. Nobody's Fault But Mine
08. No Quarter
09. Since I've Been Lovin' You
10. Dazed And Confused
11 Stairway To Heaven
12. The Song Remains the Same
13. Misty Mountain Hop
14. Kashmir

Encores:

15. Whole Lotta Love

DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT: Fan-Filmed Video Footage Of Los Angeles Concert

DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT: Fan-Filmed Video Footage Of Los Angeles Concert

Fan-filmed video footage of DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT's September 8 performance at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, California as part of the "Epic Kings & Idols Tour" with KATATONIA and PARADISE LOST can be seen below.

"Epicloud", the next album from Devin Townsend to be released under the DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT banner, will be issued on September 18 in North America and September 24 in Europe via InsideOut Music. The CD features a guest appearance by former THE GATHERING frontwoman and previous Devin collaborator Anneke Van Giersbergen.

"Epicloud" will be available in the following formats: standard CD jewel case; limited-edition digipack with bonus CD; double vinyl gatefold with an exclusive bonus track; and digital download on iTunes with two exclusive bonus tracks, "Cry Forever" (demo) and "Take My Ego" (demo).

The idea for "Epicloud" came about while Devin was attempting to write material for the follow-up to his 2007 "Ziltoid The Omniscient" concept album about a fictional extraterrestrial being named Ziltoid from the planet Ziltoidia 9.

Regarding the musical direction of "Epicloud", Devin told Noisecreep, "Over the course of the full record, there's sort of new agey stuff, jazzy stuff, really heavy stuff. We basically cover the gamut. 'Epicloud' is the first record that I felt confident enough to include all those things on one record so it goes between melodic hard rock to schizophrenic heavy metal to country to really ambient stuff and it's all in one place. I'm using a gospel choir, a string section and a horn section for this one as well. On [the DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT album] 'Deconstruction', I got to use the Prague Philharmonic [orchestra] and really go far into making an absurd album as over the top as possible and on 'Epicloud' I'm trying to take the same advantages to make some things musically very pleasing, as opposed to just claustrophobic."

MEGADETH

MEGADETH's 'Countdown To Extinction' Album Remastered And Expanded For 20th-Anniversary Edition

MEGADETH's Dave Mustaine has personally overseen a new 20th-anniversary edition of the band's most popular album, 1992's double platinum-certified "Countdown To Extinction", to be released November 6 by Capitol/EMI.

After wrapping up their "TH1RT3EN World Tour" this fall, MEGADETH will perform the acclaimed album in its entirety on their "Countdown To Extinction 20th Anniversary Tour" this November and December.

Presented in a 2CD lift-top box and digitally, "Countdown To Extinction"'s new commemorative edition pairs the remastered original album with a 1992 concert, recorded live at San Francisco's Cow Palace, which has never before been released in its entirety. The concert audio has been newly remixed for this release. The physical and digital versions both include a booklet with a new liner notes essay by music journalist Kory Grow, and the 2CD box also contains a 24" x 36" poster and four collectible postcards.

"Countdown To Extinction", MEGADETH's fifth studio album, was recorded in Los Angeles in 1992 as rioting raged across the city in response to the Rodney King trial verdicts. American tensions weren't limited to L.A., by any means, as the Gulf War was still fresh in people's minds, the state of the environment was becoming headline news, and President George H.W. Bush was seeking reelection in a heated campaign season.

Out of this turmoil, MEGADETH was inspired to create "Countdown To Extinction", considered by many to be the band's best and most accessible album. The group's previous albums, including "So Far, So Good…So What!" and "Rust In Peace", included songs that tackled topics like censorship and religious bloodletting in the Middle East. But none were as polemical as the sonic missiles launched by "Countdown". MEGADETH laced the songs with acid-tongued commentary about subjects ranging from the futility of war ("Architecture Of Aggression") to the senseless brutality of caged hunting ("Countdown To Extinction"). "Foreclosure Of A Dream" sampled George Bush's infamous "Read my lips" speech, making a statement about taxation endangering the American Dream.

Thanks to a perfect balance of hard-rock song structures, epic choruses, and fleet-fingered guitar work, "Countdown To Extinction" became an instant classic, benefiting from copious MTV and radio play. Spin magazine raved that "Countdown" "may just be the finest thrash-metal album ever made," and before long, songs like "Symphony Of Destruction", "Sweating Bullets" and "Skin O' My Teeth" had entered metal's canon of essential recordings. The album shot to No. 2 on the Billboard chart (it may have hit No. 1, if not for Billy Ray Cyrus' long chart-topping reign with "Some Gave All"), and it was certified double platinum in the U.S. within two years, with sales of more than two million copies.

MEGADETH was in top form, with Mustaine, the band's then 31-year-old singer and guitarist leading the album's assault with lyrics like "You know your worth when your enemies praise your architecture of aggression," not to mention his venomous rhythm guitar attack. His band mates completed the picture, as lead guitarist Marty Friedman blazed with memorable solos, bassist David Ellefson jammed dizzying arrays of low-end thunder, and drummer Nick Menza attacked his kit. MEGADETH sounded hungry, and the band was rewarded when the album earned a Grammy Award nomination ("Best Metal Performance") and when its title cut garnered a Genesis Award from the Humane Society for raising awareness for animal rights issues.

GRAVEYARD: Official

GRAVEYARD: Official 'Goliath' Lyric Video Released

The official lyric video for the song "Goliath" from Swedish blues rockers GRAVEYARD can be seen below. The track comes off the band's third album, "Lights Out", which will be released on October 26 via Nuclear Blast Records. The "Goliath" single will precede the full-length CD on September 21 as a digital download and on seven-inch vinyl. The single will include a special non-album track, "Leaving You". The "Goliath" seven-inch vinyl will be issued in four different colors, featuring four different cover artworks.

GRAVEYARD recently filmed a video for "Goliath" with director Artur Wolgers. The clip was shot in a lo-fi way, just like GRAVEYARD's stunning video for "Hisingen Blues", the title track of the band's previous album.

"Lights Out" track listing:

01. An Industry Of Murder
02. Slow Motion Countdown
03. Seven Seven
04. The Suits, The Law & The Uniform
05. Endless Night
06. Hard Time Lovin'
07. Goliath
08. Fool In The End
09. 20/20 (Tunnel Vision)

Regarding the "Lights Out" cover artwork, GRAVEYARD states, "The cover is something completely different than the last cover. It has a lot to do with the title, 'Lights Out'. Our goal was that both the title and the cover would sum up the feeling of the album. And just to make things clear, 'Lights Out' is not a reference to either UFO or ENTOMBED. Even though both are excellent bands."

Comments the band: "The ['Goliath'] lyrics deal with the feeling that everyday life is a constant David vs. Goliath scene. You all know the story and the scene. You look around, get pissed off and want to 'stick it to the man.' Musically, it has many influences. And, as usual, we've tried to get it both heavy and swinging at the same time."

GRAVEYARD was honored with the "Best Hard Rock/Metal" award at the Swedish "Grammis" gala, which was held on February 14 at Kungliga Operan in Stockholm.

GRAVEYARD's second full-length album, "Hisingen Blues", sold 1,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 48 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

"Hisingen Blues" entered the official chart in Sweden at position No. 1.

LORD:

LORD: 'Betrayal Blind' Video Released

"Betrayal Blind", the new video from Australian melodic metallers LORD, can be seen below. The song comes off the band's new album, "Digital Lies", which will be released later in the year through Dominus Records. The cover art was once again created by Felipe Machado (BLIND GUARDIAN, IRON SAVIOR, ICED EARTH, GAMMA RAY).

The track listing for the CD is as follows:

01. Incipio
02. Betrayal Blind
03. Digital Lies
04. Point Of View
05. Walk Away
06. 2D Person In A 3D World
07. Final Seconds
08. The Last Encore
09. Because We Can
10. The Chalkboard Prophet
11. Battle Of Venarium

Commented the band: "Every artist says their new album is 'their best work' or their 'heaviest' or 'most brutal.' We'll skip those clichés and say that we believe we have a solid album of good music that we're proud of and we believe stands up to anything we've released so far.

"If you're familiar with LORD, you'll know what to expect for the most part; a very diverse album ranging from traditional metal to commercial rock to extreme metal and everything in between.

"If you're wanting an album full of thrash songs, AOR songs, or progressive epic movie orchestral jazz djent punk songs that all sound the same, then I'm afraid you'll be a little bewildered when the style shifts from song to song. It's the LORD you know with a few new elements that have fallen into the melting pot since the last album."

LORD is essentially a continuation of DUNGEON, one of Australia's longest running and highest-profile heavy metal bands that disbanded in 2005. LORD has released three full-length albums, two EPs and a digital-only release live album, and continues to play the DUNGEON back catalog live. The band has shared the stage with the likes of GAMMA RAY, NIGHTWISH, QUEENSRŸCHE and most recently ICED EARTH and continues to tour internationally. Their last critically acclaimed album, 2009's "Set In Stone", featured guest appearances by Craig Goldy (ex-DIO), Pete Lesperance (HAREM SCAREM), Glen Drover (ex-MEGADETH), Felipe Andreoi (ANGRA), Olof Mörck (AMARANTHE) alongside a host of other well-known musicians.

VENOMOUS MAXIMUS To Release New Album On October 30th

VENOMOUS MAXIMUS To Release New Album On October 30th

Texas occult metal band VENOMOUS MAXIMUS will release its new album, Beg Upon The Light, on October 30th via Occulture Records. The award winning group recorded at Origin Sound in Houston with a head space described as "somewhere between a Alejandro Jodorowsky film and a New Orleans voodoo den."

Beg Upon The Light's cover art was designed by artist Dann Miller and builds on the band's ever-evolving thematic that involves, among other things, magic, alchemy, extra-sensory perception and astrology; wide-eyed themes that lay "on the outermost fringe of accepted forms of knowledge and discourse."

Venomous Maximus is one of the most successful metal bands to emerge from Houston in years, beloved of headbangers and headbanging blogs from across the US and points beyond (maybe even astronauts). Since its formation in 2010, the group has become the go-to metal band in the country's third-largest city, winning back-to-back titles at the Houston Press Music Awards as the Space City's "Best Metal Band" and has shared the stage with the like-minded Mastodon, Pentagram, Saint Vitus, The Sword, Graveyard and more. Now, with the release of Beg Upon The Light, Venomous Maximus is ready to show the world that its reputation precedes it for a reason.

Venomous Maximus' sound combines intense, unabashed metal riffing that locks into heavy rock grooves featuring interjected dual leads and surprisingly darkened atmospheres. Add to it the distinctive voice of towering front man Gregg Higgins and his unorthodox, unsettling tone, unholy sinister laugh and unchained lyrics described as "primal psychomagic", detailing "paths of doom", dying witches, moon worship, haunted graveyards and travel through space and time, and the speed of the band's bat out of hell success becomes surprisingly clear.

When asked to describe the band's sound in eight words or less, Higgins replied "Dark, Chrome, Leather, Snuff, Smoke, Sweat, Death, Apparitions." When asked to comment on the new album, the singer arcanely answered: "It's something you can't describe with words. You're either born hearing it or not. When it finally has a mind of its own, the best you can hope for is that it will keep talking to you."

Beg Upon The Light tracklisting:

'Funeral Queen'
'Path Of Doom'
'Give Up The Witch'
'Father Time'
'Dream Again (Hellenbach)'
'Moonchild'
'Battle For The Cross'
'Venomous Maximus'
'Mothers Milk'
'Hell's Heroes'

Hot off the completion of its successful initial US tour, Venomous Maximus has been tagged to appear at some of Texas' coolest music fests this fall including high profile gigs as part of Dallas' Riot Fest on September 22 and as part of the 2012 Fun Fun Fun Fest, where the group will appropriately kill posers dead with NACHTMYSTIUM on November 4th at Austin's Red 7 venue. ON PAIN OF DEATH Announce Digital Release Of Year Naught Doom Via Handshake Inc.; 'Tell Your God To Ready For Blood' Video Posted

ON PAIN OF DEATH Announce Digital Release Of Year Naught Doom Via Handshake Inc.; 'Tell Your God To Ready For Blood' Video Posted

Handshake Inc. has announced the digital release of Year Naught Doom, the debut LP from Irish death doom derelicts ON PAIN OF DEATH. Mastered by James Plotkin and recorded in 2010 in the band's native Ireland, Year Naught Doom will be released as free download in fall 2012 and followed by a vinyl release before the end of the year.

Formed in the boggiest of the boggy depths of Ireland in March '08, On Pain Of Death worship slow, twisted doom/sludge/chaos. The band played their first gig in June '08 and recorded their self-titled first demo over that same weekend and the next in Oaks Recording, Enniskillen, Northern Ireland. Their next releases quickly followed: an EP featuring one slab of degrading filth called Rotting In A Tomb Of Depravity, and a SEPULTURA cover for Blinddate Records' popular Clone series (which appeared alongside tracks from THOU, LOSS, MOLOCH, and more).

Year Naught Doom offers three tracks' worth of absolute decay, bottomed-put sludge, and creeping death's curse. The band's filthy approach to sluggish, wretchedly miserable, drugged-out death/doom dirge is one of the ugliest things you'll hear all year, and we'll bet you a bindle of china white that you'll love every minute of it.
Tracklisting:

'Year Naught Doom'
'Tell Your God To Ready For Blood'
'It Came From The Bog'

On Pain Of Death have also released a music video for 'Tell Your God To Ready For Blood', created by Handshake Inc.'s David Hall. Check it out below:

MACHINAE SUPREMACY To Release

MACHINAE SUPREMACY To Release 'Rise Of A Digital Nation' In October

Swedish "alternative metal" band MACHINAE SUPREMACY will release its new album, "Rise Of A Digital Nation", on October 19 via Spinefarm Records. According to a press release, the CD "echoes the musical simplicity of [2008's] 'Overworld' and faithfully reflects the issues and state of a Generation Online in its lyrics." The album was recorded in MACHINAE SUPREMACY's own studio in Luleå, Sweden, with additional recording at the 4Sound Studio in Stockholm. It was mastered by Henkka Niemistö at Chartmakers in Finland.

MACHINAE SUPREMACY's video game-inspired sounds and melodies, masterful guitar work and unique vocal style has set the band apart from the mainstream mass of generic rock and metal since their beginning in 2000. Metal Hammer calls MACHINAE SUPREMACY "one of the most interesting bands of the current era" in their review of the U.K.-only best-of collection "The Beat of Our Decay" from 2011.

Since the release of its fourth studio album, "A View From The End of The World", MACHINAE SUPREMACY has toured Europe with CHILDREN OF BODOM and ENSIFERUM, and signed with Spinefarm for three more albums.

MACHINAE SUPREMACY is currently working on the original soundtracks for two upcoming video game titles, among them "Project Giana", the great grandchild of the now quarter-century old cult hit "The Great Giana Sisters", and planning for upcoming tours in Russia and northern Europe.
