EWIGKEIT Streaming Re-Recorded Song "Lightspeed Evolution"; Starscape 2.019 Album On The WayEwigkeit are streaming the re-recorded song, "Lightspeed Evolution". The song is part of Ewigkeit's newest project - a re-release. Listen below.
In 1999, Ewigkeit released the secondnd album, Starscape, a symphonic black metal album large in it's scope and ambition, but with almost unlistenable poor sound quality. Now, in 2019, Ewigkeit present Starscape 2.019 - a complete re-recording of the original album.
With epic tracks like "Point Of Origin" (black metal's first waltz?), "Unveiling The Mystery" or "Legend Of Keshara", or the straight ahead mid-paced Swedish death metal inspired "Lightspeed Evolution", or the sublime classical of "Space Symphony", this is now in the form it was originally intended way back there at the end of the 20th century.
The man behind Ewigkeit, James Fogarty, states: "It's the first track I am sharing, and went from being a song I had literally forgotten existed to being one of my personal favourites on the totally rerecorded and reproduced album Starscape 2.019."
Lyrical themes are reflections of the dark past and a look towards the unknown future in the realms above and beyond. Fogarty, says: "20 years ago, I wrote and recorded an album called Starscape; it was wildly ambitious for my meagre beginnings and I ramped up the orchestral elements and added a futuristic feel for the space theme. I thought, and still think, that the music was great and original material!"
However, it became hard to listen after some year. James explains further: "I just couldn’t listen to it within a few years, because my first album production was virtually of an UNLISTENABLE sound quality (even for 90s black metal)!"
He proudly presents Starscape 2.019: "20 years since my teenage self recorded it, I present to you Starscape 2.019 - a vastly improved and polished product which I’m really pleased with and now proud of."
Ewigkeit is the ever-changing project of British multi-instrumentalist James Fogarty (In The Woods, Old Forest, Jaldaboath and others). Starting off as a black metal project in the mid 90s, the project has veered from symphonic black metal to Industrial to 70's space rock and back again in the many years of it's on/off existence.
Starscape 2.019: All music is written, performed and produced by James Fogarty. Mastering is by Kjetil Ottersen (Vektor Facilities) and artwork by Lenny Bridgeman.
Starscape 2.019 is available to pre-order here. The album will be released digitally across all platforms to buy and stream on August 23, and on CD on September 23.

MAYHEM To Release 'Daemon' Album In OctoberNorwegian black metal veterans MAYHEM will release their sixth studio album, titled "Daemon", on October 25.
By the power of darkness and with the might of black-hearted will no two MAYHEM albums have been or will ever be the same. Over the course of MAYHEM's storied and groundbreaking 35-year career — from "Deathcrush" (1987) through "Esoteric Warfare" (2014) — the Norwegians have continuously challenged the orthodoxy of the genre they helped create. Originally informed by greats HELLHAMMER, VENOM, BATHORY and SODOM, MAYHEM eventually imbued its damnable attack with influences from all over the music extreme spectrum, indicated first on the harsh and angular "Wolf's Lair Abyss" (1997) EP and foremost on the enterprisingly brutal and revolutionary "Grand Declaration Of War" (2000).
"Daemon" isn't a direct follow-up to "Esoteric Warfare". Like all MAYHEM albums of their time, "Daemon" is unto itself. The wolf solitary and singular. Indeed, "Daemon" also isn't a new chapter in MAYHEM's storied career. Rather, it's a new tome, authoritative yet wild in character. Composed and decomposed with the same lineup — Necrobutcher (bass), Hellhammer (drums), Attila (vocals), Teloch (guitars) and Ghul (guitars) — that handled "Esoteric Warfare" and performed "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas" in its entirety over the last few years, "Daemon" isn't a retrofit of classic songs like "Freezing Moon", "Pagan Fears" or "Buried By Time And Dust" either. That's what the live album, "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas Alive" (2016), was for. "Daemon" is change, an opportunity for the maw of hell to open wider.
"MAYHEM will always be MAYHEM," says guitarist/songwriter Teloch (a.k.a. Morten Bergeton Iversen). "If we put the genre game aside a bit, no one else sounds like MAYHEM. Even when 'De Mysteriis' came out, it was not at first considered to be a black metal album, if my memory serves me right. Tricky to label this band. Metal would be the most fitting; it's not pure black metal, in my opinion. Not sure it has ever been actually, despite what the general opinion is. People can call it whatever they want. If it's black metal to them, then fine. We don't really care. To me, it's important to keep some sort of black metal vibe at least."
MAYHEM entered NBS Audio Studio (a.k.a. Necromorbus Studio) in Söderfors, Sweden to record drums and vocals with producer/engineer Tore Stjerna. Newly consecrated Studio A (Stjerna's Stockholm studio will continue to operate as Studio B) in an old church, Hellhammer and Csihar recorded their respective parts for "Daemon". The band then had Ghul record his guitars in the Netherlands, while the bass was engineered by Teloch and performed by Necrobutcher at Lupercal Studio in Oslo, Norway. Teloch took his guitar tracking to SleikBallaMi Studio, also in Oslo. "Daemon" was then brought back to Stjerna for mixing and sent off to Thomas Johansson at The Panic Room for mastering. The whole affair took about three months to nail down.
"Daemon" track listing:
01. The Dying False King
02. Agenda Ignis
03. Bad Blood
04. Malum
05. Falsified And Hated
06. Aeon Daemonium
07. Worthless Abomination Destroyed
08. Daemon Spawn
09. Of Worms And Ruins
10. Invoke The Oath
The pre-order for all formats will start on August 30.
Certainly, the art of the album cover can be hit or miss. Not for MAYHEM. The Norwegians have crafted an aesthetic that's both harrowing and insidious. From the low contrast majesty of "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas" and the blurry haunt of "Chimera" to the suggestive intensity of "Grand Declaration Of War" and "Esoteric Warfare"'s retro-modern mind machine layout, the band have always been progressively inclined where it concerns image, message, and style. For "Daemon", MAYHEM enlisted Italian designer Daniele Valeriani (LUCIFER'S CHILD, DARK FUNERAL) to understand, conceive, and deliver the cover art.
"I think this album will be most pleasing for old and new fans," says Teloch. "As most of our devoted fans know, MAYHEM has never released two albums that sound the same. That's the case this time around as well. As I said, we simplified stuff, but at the same time tried out some new stuff to keep it interesting for ourselves and, also for our fans that dig that we are doing something new on each album."
Soon after the release of "Daemon", MAYHEM will embark on a European headline tour with special guests GAAHLS WYRD and GOST. 5

DIMMU BORGIR And AMORPHIS Announce January/February 2020 European Co-Headline TourNorwegian black metal force DIMMU BORGIR and Finnish melodic prog metallers AMORPHIS have announced a co-headline tour that no metal fan should miss. In January and February of 2020, the unholy Scandinavian alliance will haunt 10 European cities and bring the American post-black metallers WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM along as support.
DIMMU BORGIR commented: "We're going to crush Europe in January next year, and together with AMORPHIS, we'll make sure that Nordic darkness will create a perfect winter's storm. See you all soon!"
AMORPHIS's Esa Holopainen stated: "When the idea of doing a co-headline tour with DIMMU BORGIR came up, it sounded great, but at the same time we were really surprised. However, the more we thought about it, the more it sounded like a perfect match. Musically we are different, but deep down, it’s not really by that much. There's a lot of similar elements where both bands take their inspiration. Both bands are absolutely unique on stage. It is needless to say that this tour is going to be a true killer with a massive production, that will undoubtedly bring even more coldness into people's hearts in January 2020. We would also like to welcome WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM to open the evenings."
WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM added: "We are ready to blaze forth across Europe with these two titans of heavy metal! DIMMU BORGIR and AMORPHIS are bands that we love and we are looking forward to supporting them on this tour. We will be playing songs off our new album (released by Century Media in February) as well as some classic WOLVES material. Thank you!"
Tickets go on sale on August 14 at 10:00 CEST.
Tour dates:
Jan. 22 - UK - London - O2 Forum Kentish Town
Jan. 23 - F - Paris - Bataclan
Jan. 24 - CH - Zurich - Komplex 457
Jan. 25 - NL - Tilburg - 013
Jan. 26 - D - Wiesbaden - Schlachthof
Jan. 28 - D - Munich - TonHalle
Jan. 29 - D - Filderstadt - FILharmonie
Jan. 30 - D - Berlin - Columbiahalle
Jan. 31 - D - Oberhausen - Turbinenhalle
Feb. 01 - D - Hannover - Swiss Life Music Hall
DIMMU BORGIR's monumental 10th studio album, "Eonian", was released right in time for the band's 25th anniversary last year, about seven years after its predecessor, "Abrahadabra". Since then, the infernal trio consisting of Shagrath, Silenoz and Galder has played various tours all around the world, including shows at leading metal festivals such as Wacken Open Air and Hellfest.
AMORPHIS has also been busy touring last year after the release of its 13th studio album, "Queen Of Time", that further established the band's reputation as one of today's leading Finnish metal acts. With their complex and original blend of folk and metal elements, a well-balanced interplay of clear vocals and harsh growls, the band is even said to have invented their own genre. 2

LIZZY BORDEN Releases 'The Scar Across My Heart' Lyric VideoThe official lyric video for the song "The Scar Across My Heart" from LIZZY BORDEN can be seen below. The track is taken from the theatrical rock frontman's first album in 11 years, "My Midnight Things", which was released in June 2018 via Metal Blade Records.
Lizzy comments: "I wanted 'The Scar Across My Heart' lyric video to have that translucent, cloaked in a visual lie look to it. A barrage of negative hard rain flooding down on those hollow words 'we're gonna make it now,' an exercise in futility for a doomed from the start connection."
The clip's release coincides with the start of LIZZY BORDEN's North American tour with DEMONS & WIZARDS and TÝR, which will kick off this weekend.
Says Lizzy: "We are extremely excited to finally hit the road with LIZZY BORDEN's 'My Midnight Things' show. This new show is a bombastic, high energy theatrical production. From the start of 'My Midnight Things' to the end of 'Long May They Haunt Us', we will flash through the decades playing classic songs from each and every LIZZY BORDEN record to-date. Sharing the stage with DEMONS & WIZARDS, as well as our label mates TÝR, can't help from being one of the most interesting and entertaining combined forces in a very long time. All three bands are very different from each other and yet oddly compatible. This is a 'can't miss' night! See you there, I'll bring the blood; you bring the screams!"
Having signed a new contract with Metal Blade on the strength of three demo tracks, Borden opted to produce "My Midnight Things" himself, with Joey Scott as co-producer. (Joey also handled all the drumming duties.) "I knew what I was going for and had doubts that I could find a producer who would understand that," Borden explained. "My approach is very different than what is happening in today's current sound."
Last year, Lizzy told RockEyez about the long gap between "Appointment With Death" and "My Midnight Things": "The reason I stopped making records [was] because we were touring, and we were having fun touring all over the world, playing different countries that we'd never played before. It was amazing, but I did miss being a recording artist. I stopped recording because the industry collapsed, and all we had was the old record deals. The old record deal that I had was worthless — it didn't mean anything; it was impossible to even do. I did two records that way, 'Deal With The Devil' and 'Appointment With Death', with the old style of record deal, and then the industry completely imploded, and then it was just, 'Okay, I can't function this way.' I just resigned myself to playing the back catalog live, but Brian Slagel from Metal Blade Records had a meeting with me and convinced me that they had changed the game. The success that they've had has been amazing for an independent label. The proof was in the pudding on how they figured out how to rise above the ashes of the industry. There's a whole different system in place, and he talked me into making records again."
"My Midnight Things" was mixed by Greg Fidelman (METALLICA, BLACK SABBATH, ADELE, U2) and mastered by Tom Baker (DAVID BOWIE, ROB ZOMBIE, MARILYN MANSON, TOM PETTY).

CYNIC frontman Paul Masvidal comments: "'Traced In Air' has been brought up to date for 2019 — a remix where something less means a little more. CYNIC has always been about forging paths rather than building walls."
The artwork for "Traced In Air Remixed" was created by Robert Venosa.

CYNIC was formed in 1987 during the burgeoning rise of death metal in Miami, Florida before relocating to Los Angeles, California. During the band's career that spans over three decades, they have garnered a cult following and unyielding praise from critics for shaping the prog metal genre with their impressive creativity. "Traced In Air Remixed" is no exception to this, only further lending to CYNIC's undisputed legacy.

K.K. DOWNING On His Return To Live Stage: 'It Was A Bit Of A Whirlwind'Former JUDAS PRIEST guitarist K.K. Downing joined ex-MANOWAR axeman Ross "The Boss" Friedman on stage earlier today (Sunday, August 11) at this year's Bloodstock Open Air festival at Catton Park, Derbyshire, United Kingdom to perform four songs. This marked K.K.'s first public performance since October 17, 2009 when JUDAS PRIEST played the final "British Steel 30th Anniversary" date on the "Nostradamus" world tour at Japan's Loud Park festival in Chiba City, Japan.
Speaking to "The Unchained Rock Show" after his performance, Downing said (hear audio below): "It was a bit of a whirlwind. I was saying to the other guys there, I don't know whether I dropped from a helicopter as a bungee jumper, once I landed after 20 seconds and realized where I was, I was good after that point."
According to K.K., the pairing with Ross was the perfect way for him to get reintroduced to the live stage, especially because of their respective standing in the upper echelons of the heavy metal genre.
"Ross has been around a long time; he goes back," Downing said. "And those guys are full-on metal — same as me. 'Cause originally, I was just meant to pick up an award here. And the guys said, 'Well, you're gonna get on a stage. You think you wanna put a guitar on.' And I said, 'I'm not Ed Sheeran. I'm not gonna go busking on a bloody stage.' 'I know — what about jumping on with Ross?' Because the format, being a four-piece, I jump in and make it a guitar duo — that makes sense. First and foremost, I didn't want it to be disruptive to their set… I just came on as a special guest and did that at the end of their set. And I think it's not a bad thing to try and do things like that. Maybe this could be the first of many things where bands get together and perform together."
Downing went on to say that he had very little time to rehearse with Ross's band. "The guys landed… Some of the guys came in from L.A. via Paris the same day we were supposed to be rehearsing," he explained. "But we did manage to squeeze an hour or so in the following day. To be honest, we didn't have the experience of, like… A lot of the bands today, they're on tour… It was a jam, really… And there was quite a bit of improvisation in there. And that's where it is."
Fan-filmed video footage of Downing's appearance — consisting of the PRIEST classics "Green Manalishi", "Heading Out On The Highway", "Breaking The Law" and "Running Wild" — can be seen below.
Downing left PRIEST in 2011 amid claims of band conflict, shoddy management and declining quality of performance. He was replaced by Richie Faulkner, nearly three decades his junior.
Last summer, Downing revealed that he sent two resignation letters to his bandmates when he decided to quit JUDAS PRIEST. The first was described as "a graceful exit note, implying a smooth retirement from music," while the second was "angrier, laying out all of his frustrations with specific parties."
Downing later said that he believed the second letter was "a key reason" he wasn't invited to rejoin PRIEST after Glenn Tipton's decision to retire from touring.
Downing's autobiography, "Heavy Duty: Days And Nights In Judas Priest", was released in September via Da Capo Press.
A founding member of MANOWAR, Ross recorded six albums with the band before leaving after 1988's "Kings Of Metal".
ROSS THE BOSS is currently recording its new album for a 2020 release via AFM Records.
The band's latest album, "By Blood Sworn", was released last year to critical acclaim.

FLYING COLORS Feat. MIKE PORTNOY, STEVE MORSE, NEAL MORSE: 'Third Degree' Album Details Revealed; 'More' Video AvailableFLYING COLORS will release its new album, "Third Degree", on October 4 via Music Theories Recordings.
In chemistry, when certain galvanizing elements come together, they become quite explosive. In music, when certain galvanizing artists come together, they become FLYING COLORS. In fact, whenever the five gentlemen who encompass FLYING COLORS — guitarist Steve Morse (DEEP PURPLE, DIXIE DREGS, ex-KANSAS), drummer Mike Portnoy (THE WINERY DOGS, ex-DREAM THEATER, TRANSATLANTIC), keyboardist/vocalist Neal Morse (TRANSATLANTIC, ex-SPOCK'S BEARD, and a prolific solo artist in his own right), bassist Dave LaRue (DIXIE DREGS, ex-Joe Satriani), and powerhouse vocalist and songwriter Casey McPherson (ALPHA REV, THE SEA WITHIN) — are able to conjoin their collective talents, the result is a sweet sonic bouillabaisse that reflects where their inherent mastery of melody intersects with top-shelf progressive musicianship.
And now, FLYING COLORS soar to even loftier heights with "Third Degree", their third studio album in a decade. "Third Degree" builds upon the genre-bending momentum of 2012's self-titled "Flying Colors" and the aural-template ascension of 2014's "Second Nature". From the skittery psychedelic/classical turnaround of the lead single "More" to the BEACH BOYS-meet-ASIA vibe of "Love Letter" to the deep emotionality of the album-ending, prog-leaning epic "Crawl", the nine tracks that comprise "Third Degree" signify just how much FLYING COLORS is willing to explore new frontiers.
"There's a lot of ear candy sprinkled throughout every song," observes Portnoy, "and each one takes you on a little journey. As albums go, 'Third Degree' is a complete piece that I don't think ever overstays its welcome. I think it's an enjoyable ride from start to finish."
It continues to build upon the deep-rooted musical connection the members of FLYING COLORS established on their first two boundary-stretching albums.
"There's a real special chemistry between the five of us," Portnoy confirms. "We keep getting better and better as we get more comfortable and more familiar with each other, and the music itself keeps getting more and more mature." Adds Steve Morse: "This one, dare I say it, explores new ground for the band. One of my favorites, 'Geronimo', has an upbeat, jazzy, heavy, melodic feel all at once. We just do what makes us smile and sounds good, instead of wondering how critics or program directors will like it. It makes for the best music!"
Casey McPherson concurs with his fellow bandmates by noting: "What 'Third Degree' really proves to me is that we have our own sound. There are no egos in this band, and we all want the best parts to come out, which is such a joy for me to participate in. I think that really allows people's uniqueness to show through."
The first sessions for the record took place at Steve Morse's studio in Florida in December 2016, wherein seven songs were written. From there, the band members had to scatter back to their other personal and professional obligations, eventually reconvening two full years later in December 2018, when three more tracks were added to the overall "Third Degree" mix. (The tenth track, "Waiting For The Sun", will be made available in forthcoming special editions.)
As a songwriter, McPherson is never afraid to confront his feelings head-on, whether it's the nostalgic bent of "Last Train Home" or the raw, relatable universality of "You Are Not Alone".
Another progression has been the band's use of technology to provide industry-leading sound. "Third Degree" was engineered with the award-winning Harmonic Phrase Analysis and Restoration (HPAR) technology. Developed by the band's resident mad scientist Bill Evans, he created HPAR based on the group's performance styles — resulting in unprecedented fidelity. FLYING COLORS regular producer Rich Mouser (THE NEAL MORSE BAND, TRANSATLANTIC) then crafted a sumptuous mix in his inimitable style.
"Third Degree" track listing:
01. The Loss Inside
02. More
03. Cadence
04. Guardian
05. Last Train Home
06. Geronimo
07. You Are Not Alone

Video Premiere: IGGY POP's 'James Bond'Iggy Pop has unveiled the first video from his upcoming album "Free", due out September 6 on Loma Vista Recordings.
Directed by Simon Taylor, the clip for "James Bond" was shot on location at Sweat Records in Miami.
"James Bond" is the second song to be released in advance of the new album, and has been hailed "infectious" by Paste and by Consequence Of Sound as "a stylistic shift… magnetic."
In Iggy's own words, "James Bond" tells a story: "I don't know what she's up to exactly, but the tables seem to be turning, and she's taking over. Well, why not? I'll try anything once.
"I've never had more fun singing a lyric. Faith's reading is so loaded, and Leron's production and trumpet along with the band swings like crazy," he said.
Credits:
Iggy Pop - Vocal
Faith Vern - Additional Voice
Leron Thomas - Trumpet
Robin Sherman - Bass
Thomas Glass - Drums
Ari Teitel - Guitar
While "Free" follows the highest charting album of Iggy's career, 2016's Grammy-nominated "Post Pop Depression", it has virtually nothing in common sonically with its predecessor — or with any other Iggy Pop album. As The New York Times remarked upon hearing the title track: "Iggy Pop's 'Free' is brief, atmospheric and elusive. Amid sustained electronic tones from the guitarist Noveller and ghostly overdubbed Miles Davis-tinged trumpet lines from Leron Thomas, Pop's voice appears only a few times, intoning, 'I wanna be free.' As the title song and opening track of an album due in September, it could lead anywhere."
"Free" track listing:
01. Free
02. Loves Missing
03. Sonali
04. James Bond
05. Dirty Sanchez
06. Glow In The Dark
07. Page
08. We Are The People
09. Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night
10. The Dawn

According to Billboard's Boxscore data, the summer 2019 leg of METALLICA's "WorldWired" tour grossed more than $70 million from 13 shows. The highest-earning date ($8,194,075) took place on June 8 in Meath, Ireland, where a near-capacity crowd of 71,122 saw the band perform at the iconic venue Slane Castle. The second-biggest concert ($6,745,329) happened on July 6 in Berlin, Germany, where 68,452 fans were packed into the sold-out Olympiastadion.
Music industry trade magazine Pollstar recently named METALLICA one of the top-earning hard rock and metal tours of the "2019 Midyear" reporting period, which covered the six-month range from November 22, 2018 to May 22, 2019.
The group's 21 North American "WorldWired" arena shows during the reporting period grossed a total of $41.7 million, good for an average per-show gross of $1.99 million. With an average attendance of more than 16,000, the band moved nearly 350,000 tickets altogether.
On a per-show basis, METALLICA did even better internationally, as five of the six European stadium concerts the group performed in May grossed a combined $28 million thanks to an average attendance of more than 58,000. Altogether, the band grossed $69.7 million in the six-month reporting period, making the group the fourth highest-grossing act in the world during that time behind only Elton John, Pink and Justin Timberlake — each of whom sold fewer tickets but had a higher average ticket price.
The "WorldWired" tour has played more than 130 shows across the world since its 2016 kick-off.
Last November, drummer Lars Ulrich told The Mercury News that the trek could last through early 2020.
The San Francisco Bay Area metal giants have been touring in support of their latest album, "Hardwired… To Self-Destruct", which came out in November 2016. 14

DRAGONFORCE Parts Ways With Longtime Bassist FRÉDÉRIC LECLERCQ; Temporary Replacement AnnouncedDRAGONFORCE has parted ways with longtime bassist Frédéric Leclercq (pictured above).
Leclercq, who became an official member of DRAGONFORCE in 2006, will play his last show with the band this weekend at Elb-Riot in Hamburg, Germany.
Frédéric said: "I had an amazing opportunity that will be announced soon. There is no bad blood and I wish the band all the best. I want to thank the fans for their support throughout the years."
Guitarist Herman Li said: "We want to thank Fred for all the musical contributions and good times over the years. As sad as we are to lose him, we are excited that he is going to continue playing the music he loves. He will always be a friend and a member of the DRAGONFORCE family."
Filling in on bass for the U.S. leg of DRAGONFORCE's upcoming world tour will be musician and YouTube personality Stevie T (Steve Terreberry).
Li originally jokingly invited Stevie T to join the band this summer, asking him to play the triangle. Stevie T responded with a video on his YouTube channel, accepting Li's offer and playing an extended triangle solo to DRAGONFORCE's hit "Through The Fire And Flames".
Li said: "I was deeply moved when I saw Stevie T's technical precision and finesse on the triangle and immediately invited him to join the tour. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the greatest triangle player ever to grace this earth."
DRAGONFORCE will release its eighth full-length album, "Extreme Power Metal", on September 27. Produced in Los Angeles, California by Damien Rainaud at Mix Unlimited, "Extreme Power Metal" was also recorded, in part, on Li's livestream channel on Twitch with participation from the fans.
Regarding "Extreme Power Metal", Li said: "This album again combines the best of DRAGONFORCE in an even bigger, more epic way than we have ever done before. We are so excited for fans to hear it." Following the departure of Vadim Pruzhanov from the band last year, the keyboards of this new album were performed by Coen Janssen of symphonic metal titan EPICA, bringing a new dimension into a DRAGONFORCE album. Guitarist Sam Totman said: "We worked really closely with Coen on this new album. We are so happy with what he has brought into this new album. Every fan will be so happy to hear his majestic playing." 9

EXES FOR EYES Launch The Aluminum Project; New Album Available For $1.00Canada’s Exes For Eyes, the musical vision of Dave Sheldon (ex-Man With Target, Annihilator) and the lyrical conception of vocalist and frontman Big James (Stab.Twist.Pull, Endast, Authors) have left their hiatus to bring you a new album Of Strength and Sorrow to follow their 2014 album, Tongues Like Figure Eights.
Back in 2014, the band challenged their fans and the metal community with The Platinum Project to help a fully independent band reach platinum status by selling one million digital copies at only $1. Did the band reach their goal...? Not quite, but they did sell over 16,000 digital copies and encourage an online trend that followed. The promotion was a great experience and brought Exes For Eyes tons of exposure and attention from the music industry.
Fast-forwarding to 2019, with their next album Of Strength and Sorrow, out as of Tuesday, August 13th, the band is entering the moshpit with a new challenge dubbed The Aluminum Project. It's the same concept, selling their new album exclusively for only $1 except with some more twists, which the band goes into further detail in the following video they have put together explaining the concept.
Watch the explanation of #TheAluminumProject below.
Of Strength and Sorrow is available for only $1 exclusively at ExesForEyes.com.
“Hold On” is the first single off this album and is an excellent introduction to the release that can simply be defined as "heavy as fuck".
Having taken the last four years since their previous album, Exes For Eyes have shown that they have matured sonically, completing an album that is darker without abandoning the soundscapes their fans have grown to love with their massive groove. Taking inspiration from composers such as John Williams, Danny Elfman, John Carpenter and Hans Zimmer they are new instrumental layers that add a definitive depth to the album. Exes For Eyes comments on the writing process behind the massive 65-minute album:
“The writing process took so much out of us this album, so the idea of not releasing a song because 'it doesn’t sound like the other ones' didn’t even cross our minds. I feel like we knew we were going to release it ourselves on our terms again, so the idea of a 65-minute album didn’t seem outrageous. You’ll have your favourites the same way we have ours, but these are the songs and we want you to hear all of them. We meant every note and every word.”
Metal fans, especially those who follow Slipknot, Soilwork and Periphery can experience utter brutality and sheer beauty in lyrics that stem from a personal place coupled with heavy riffs and ferocious drumming found in the single “Hold On”.
The album download for Of Strength and Sorrow will be available for only $1 EXCLUSIVELY as of August 13th, 2019, at ExesForEyes.com.

TOOL: 'Fear Inoculum' Track Listing RevealedTOOL has confirmed the track list for its long-awaited fifth album, "Fear Inoculum", which will arrive on August 30 via RCA.
The physical edition of the album will include seven songs, while the digial edition will contain 10 cuts, including the closer "7empest", which is almost 20 minutes long.
As previously reported, the "Fear Inoculum" title track recently became the longest song to ever land in the Billboard Hot 100. The TOOL cut, which entered the chart at No. 93, has a running time of 10 minutes 21 seconds, 24 seconds longer than the previous record holder, David Bowie's "Blackstar".
In other news, four of TOOL's studio albums entered Billboard's Top Rock Albums chart after their arrival on digital services (both for purchase and streaming), led by 1996's "Ænima", which debuts at No. 1 with 33,000 equivalent album units earned, according to Nielsen Music. TOOL's 2001 album "Lateralus" follows (No. 2, 27,000 units), with "10,000 Days" re-entering the tally at No. 4 (24,000 units) and 1993's "Undertow" rounding out the top five at No. 5 (23,000).
"It's amazing: the future and technology," guitarist Adam Jones told Revolver in a recent interview. "It's put a dent in the industry of music, but you've gotta adapt. The old way is a huge ship sinking, so you've gotta jump off and swim over to the new ship, which is digital and free music and a whole different approach to how you get your songs out there to people. It's exciting."
He continued: "I remember in the early '90s, I saved all my money and bought a 16mm camera and I put an intervalometer on it and it cost me, like, $9,000. And now you can do it with your phone and an app! … It's hilarious. But it hasn't spoiled anything we do. We make our money playing live and selling merchandise and selling products that are really unique that people appreciate and feel like they got their money's worth. It's not just about music anymore. The commodity has changed."

DIAMOND HEAD Singer Says Partnership With DAVE MUSTAINE's THRASHVILLE MANAGEMENT 'Didn't Work Out'New Wave Of British Heavy Metal pioneers DIAMOND HEAD have explained the end of their working relationship with MEGADETH's Dave Mustaine.
It was announced in December 2017 that DIAMOND HEAD had inked a management deal with Thrashville Management, the company founded by Dave and his son Justis Mustaine. Several months later, the affiliation came to a sudden and unexpected end, with DIAMOND HEAD switching over to Siren Artist Management, which also handles SAXON, EUROPE, URIAH HEEP and THIN LIZZY.
In a recent interview with Bruce Pegg, DIAMOND HEAD bassist Dean Ashton stated about Mustaine: "It was an awesome experience getting to work with Dave. I was a big MEGADETH fan as a kid, so getting to meet him a couple of times was cool. He and his band were very hospitable to me and Ras [DIAMOND HEAD vocalist Rasmus Bom Anderson] when they played the O2 in London."
Added Rasmus: "It was a big blow to all of us, as there was so much great stuff happening in the wings, and it all fell to pieces. I have nothing but great respect to Dave Mustaine and Justis Mustaine. They were super friendly and supportive, and I believe [they] wanted this to work out as much as we did, but sadly it didn't."
Mustaine has been very vocal about what a "massive influence" DIAMOND HEAD and guitarist Brian Tatler were on him and the music he wrote for both MEGADETH and METALLICA.
Tatler, for his part, has repeatedly expressed his gratitude over the years to METALLICA, who have covered four DIAMOND HEAD songs and kept the band in the spotlight.
He said in a 2011 interview: "Without METALLICA, we wouldn't be going now. We split in 1985 when everything dried up, and we wouldn't have reformed without them. They're like DIAMOND HEAD's support system — they breathed new life into the band by namechecking us hundreds of times and covering our songs."
The publishing royalties generated from METALLICA's versions of DIAMOND HEAD tracks like "Am I Evil" have kept Tatler afloat. "I don't know what I would have done without that," he said. "We never made money in the early days. I was on the dole after we finished — I had nothing left and I was living at home with my parents. I probably wouldn't have my own house now."
DIAMOND HEAD's latest album, "The Coffin Train", was released on May 24 via Silver Lining Music. 5

JUDAS PRIEST Raises Over $150,000 For GLENN TIPTON PARKINSON'S FOUNDATIONJUDAS PRIEST's Glenn Tipton has thanked fans who have purchased t-shirts in support of the Glenn Tipton Parkinson's Foundation, launched last year after the guitarist announced that he had been battling the disease for a decade prior to the band's "Firepower" tour.
All proceeds from the foundation will benefit a pioneering new treatment called MR-guided focused ultrasound thalamotomy, which, although in its early stages, has already had great success with a Parkinson's-related condition called essential tremor.
Tipton wrote in a post on PRIEST's social media: "I'd like to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who bought The Glenn Tipton Parkinson's Foundation charity t-shirts throughout the various tour legs and a big thank you also to those who had the bike selfies done - I'd also like to thank, Rob, Ian, Richie, Scott and Andy - the donations are building up nicely and that wouldn't have been possible without all the hard work from the guys in the band and the crew who went onstage every night and helped raise money for a great cause
"We will report on the amount raised as we go along - it currently stands at just over US $ 150,000 - but there's still a long way to go - for anyone who wants to donate to the charity there will be a link set up soon to make that possible - once again thanks to everyone."
To raise funds for the foundation, PRIEST is offering an exclusive "No Surrender" t-shirt both at its concerts and online.
Tipton announced his retirement from touring in February 2018 after revealing his unfortunate diagnosis. The 71-year-old guitarist passed on the torch to the producer of the "Firepower" LP, Andy Sneap.
Tipton was diagnosed with the degenerative neurological disorder five years ago, after being stricken by the condition at least half a decade earlier. The guitarist, who has performed on every PRIEST record since the band's 1974 debut set, "Rocka Rolla", is not quitting the band, but simply cannot handle the rigorous challenges of performing live.
Glenn has appeared onstage with PRIEST many times following his retirement, always performing the same fan-favorite tracks "Metal Gods", "Breaking The Law" and "Livin' After Midnight".
JUDAS PRIEST recently completed a U.S. tour with fellow classic heavy rockers URIAH HEEP. The 32-date trek kicked off on May 3 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida and wrapped on June 29 at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM GLENN TIPTON:
I'd like to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who bought The Glenn Tipton...Posted by Judas Priest on Monday, August 12, 20195

TOM KEIFER On CINDERELLA: 'It's Not Where I Wanna Be Anymore'Tom Keifer has once again shot down the possibility of a CINDERELLA reunion, saying that "it's not where I wanna be anymore."
Although CINDERELLA hasn't released a new studio album since 1994's "Still Climbing", the band started playing sporadic shows again in 2010 but has been largely inactive for the last few years while Keifer has toured as a solo artist.
Asked in a brand new interview with Ralph Sutton's "The SDR Show" why he doesn't just go out with his solo band and call it CINDERELLA, Tom replied: "It's not CINDERELLA. This band is new. Obviously, we play CINDERELLA songs, 'cause people wanna hear them. I was the singer. I wrote the songs. I produced the records and co-produced some of the records. I did most of the guitar work. Those songs are a part of me and people wanna hear them. The first year we went out, when 'The Way Life Goes' [Keifer's solo debut] came out, we were touring, we weren't doing as many [CINDERELLA songs] — we were focusing more on the record — and people wanted to hear both. The show is a hybrid of the solo music and the CINDERELLA stuff. But no, I would never do that. There's a lot of acts out there now touring under the banner of a particular name. Some of them have a few original members. I get that. If it's kind of morphed over the time, I guess that's okay. But the solo thing was kind of overnight. To call this CINDERELLA, it's just disingenuous."
Pressed about whether he has any interest in ever doing CINDERELLA again, Keifer said: "I don't air any of our differences, but there's been many over the years, like all bands have. And, unfortunately, the wheels fell off of that — slowly. And it just is what it is. It's not where I wanna be anymore."
Back in 2016, CINDERELLA guitarist Jeff LaBar accepted blame for the group's prolonged period of inactivity, explaining that his "drinking problem" caused a rift between him and his bandmates. He told "Another FN Podcast With Izzy Presley": "I can only speculate, but I believe it's all my fault. It's no secret that I've had a drinking problem. And it showed its ugly face on one of those [cruises that CINDERELLA played]. I guess that's what caused a rift… When I fell out on one of those cruise ships in front of everybody — like, basically O.D.'d — that's when the band, and mostly Tom, took notice and was, like, 'What the fuck?'"
Asked if he is sober now, LaBar said: "No, I'm not. Which is the problem. Which is probably the problem. Like I said, I can only speculate, because I don't talk to the other guys anymore. I talk to Fred [Coury, drums] every now and then. Eric [Brittingham, bass] lives twenty minutes from me. We haven't talked lately, but Eric and I have been the most consistent of all my bandmates throughout the past thirty-two years. It's just Tom and I that don't talk anymore. And I can only speculate that he's very disappointed and doesn't wanna see me die. He doesn't wanna witness me dying."
Keifer will release his second solo album, "Rise", on September 13 via Cleopatra Records. The disc sees Tom joined by his #keiferband — Savannah Keifer, Tony Higbee, Billy Mercer, Kendra Chantelle, Jarred Pope and Kory Myers. 5

DESTRUCTION Frontman SCHMIER Says German Big Four Tour With KREATOR, SODOM And TANKARD Is "On The List Of Priorities" For 2020; AudioMetal Shock Finland's David Araneda recently had a chat with Destruction bassist/vocalist and songwriter, Schmier, about the lineup changes, the current state of the band, and his views of the world and the metal scene. Schmier also shared some stories from his travels to South America, the upcoming Destruction tour, and his plans to go on the road with the Big Four of German thrash metal in the near future.
In regards to touring plans, Schmier reveals: "Of course we’re gonna go back to Latin America. Actually, we will start this touring schedule right after the summer with Overkill and Flotsam And Jetsam for a second part of the Killfest, because the first Killfest was sold out everywhere, now there’s going to be a second round. Then we’re going to do festivals, we’re coming to Finland playing the Steel Chaos festival in November, which is very exciting for us to come back finally to Finland again. And then next year we’re going to start a whole touring schedule, we will have three parts of a European tour. First will be I think Southern Europe, then we do Central Europe, and then we do East Europe and Scandinavia. And in between those tours we will do Asia, United States and Canada. So, the whole first six months next year we’re gonna be on tour, supporting our new record.
"And then we will see what’s the next plan, because we’re also holding it back a little bit with the timeframe for next year and 2021, because we still want to do the German Big Four Tour with Kreator, Sodom and Tankard. So, that’s also on the list of priorities for the next year, and hopefully we’re gonna have some good news about this soon. And Latin America is maybe one of the parts of the world where this tour could start, because there’s a lot of thrash fans down there."

Eric remembers a whole world of experiences with Philip and Brian as they planned to take over the world!
Eric shines a light on the chaotic yet meteoric rise of Thin Lizzy with sensational previously unheard stories of life on the road and in the studio. This autobiography uncovers the triumphs and the tragedies that accompanied Eric along the way, and the personal toll that they took, resulting in his dramatic and climactic exit from the band on New Years Eve 1973.
For the first time Eric discloses the struggles in the years that followed and recounts more staggering stories of life on the road in the US with Jimi Hendrix's bassist Noel Redding. Eric pulls no punches on telling the truth about the good and the bad times.
This emotionally charged and absorbing autobiography is a true and moving testimony of a giant amongst guitarists.

CREED's 'Human Clay' Set For 20th-Anniversary Vinyl ReissueCraft Recordings has announced a vinyl reissue of CREED's "Human Clay", in celebration of the best-selling album's 20th anniversary. In stores October 11, the two-LP set is housed in a gatefold jacket and marks the first vinyl availability of the album since a limited edition pressing in 1999. "Human Clay", which has sold over 20 million units worldwide, includes hits "Higher", "What If", "Are You Ready?" and the Grammy Award-winning single "With Arms Wide Open".
After the success of its grunge-imbued debut album, "My Own Prison", CREED went back into the studio with producer John Kurzweg (PUDDLE OF MUDD, GODSMACK) to record material for their follow-up. Though the Tallahassee, Florida-based band had already found enormous success on the rock charts with their multiplatinum-selling 1997 debut, 1999's "Human Clay" would make them mainstream stars. Driven by the anthemic, first single "Higher", "Human Clay" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and CREED quickly became one of the biggest bands in the world. "Higher" spent a whopping 57 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 7. In July of the following year, the band scored their first No. 1 hit on the pop charts with the third single, "With Arms Wide Open". The track — which frontman Scott Stapp wrote when he found out that he was going to be a father — earned the band a Grammy for "Best Rock Song" in 2001. To date, "Human Clay" has sold well over 11 million copies in the U.S., earning a rare diamond certification from the RIAA, joining the ranks of THE BEATLES' "Abbey Road", Prince's "Purple Rain" and NIRVANA's "Nevermind". It remains one of the top-selling albums of all-time in the United States.
CREED's enormous success is largely due to the prolific writing team of Stapp and guitarist Mark Tremonti, who founded the band together in 1993. Their winning combination of driving guitar riffs, rousing hooks and introspective lyrics earned them legions of loyal fans around the world. Following the release of their first two albums, the four-piece — which also included bassist Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Phillips — became the first band ever to have seven consecutive No. 1 singles on Billboard's Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks. CREED's third album, "Weathered" (2001), also debuted at No. 1, and produced several popular singles, including Top Ten hits "My Sacrifice" and "One Last Breath". Though CREED announced its breakup in 2004, the band briefly reunited in 2009 to release "Full Circle". Heavier than their previous albums, "Full Circle" debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, proving the incredible staying power of the band. 5

GUNS N' ROSES Settles Lawsuit Over 'Guns 'N' Rosé' BeerAccording to The Blast, GUNS N' ROSES has reached a deal to drop the lawsuit against a company it claims has been selling a knockoff beer named after the band.
Canarchy Craft Brewery Collective had allegedly been selling a beer called Guns 'N' Rosé through its portfolio of craft breweries, which includes Oskar Blues Brewery. In addition, the band claimed the company had been selling hats, t-shirts, pint glasses, stickers, buttons, and bandannas with the Guns 'N' Rosé name on them.

The band informed the court: "Plaintiff and Defendant CANarchy Craft Brewery Collective LLC have been engaged in settlement discussions since the filing of the Complaint on May 9, 2019. On July 31, 2019, Plaintiff and Defendant reached an agreement in principle that resolves all claims asserted in, and will result in dismissal of, the Complaint. The parties are in the process of finalizing a written settlement agreement and expect to execute a written agreement that will lead to dismissal of the Complaint in the near term."
GUNS N' ROSES is asking the judge to allow the band more time to finalize the deal, after which the lawsuit will be dismiss their lawsuit.
Guns 'N' Rosé was described as "a 6 percent ABV ale brewed with hibiscus and prickly pear."
In their lawsuit, Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan claimed Canarchy tried to trademark the name but after the band objected, the Fireman Capital-backed brewery consortium agreed to abandon the application.
GUNS N' ROSES claimed Canarchy originally agreed to stop all the goods completely, but not until March 2020.
