VITRIOL To Release Debut Album In September; Details RevealedOn September 6, Century Media Records will release To Bathe From The Throat Of Cowardice, the first album by Portland, Oregon’s death metal group, Vitriol.
Fronted by the dual vocal assault given from guitarist Kyle Rasmussen and bassist Adam Roethlisberger, driven by the inhuman drummer Scott Walker, Vitriol proved to make a successful strike at the genre's heart with their 2017 EP, Pain Will Define Their Death. Released via Italy's Everlasting Spew, it already provided a shockingly intense glimpse at the whirlwind that is to be unfurled on the much anticipated debut record, To Bathe From The Throat Of Cowardice.
Featuring classy artwork by Joe Petagno (Motörhead, Krisiun, Angelcorpse), the album offers 44 minutes of utmost sincere and vicious music embodying a radicalness and personality rarely heard within the genre.
Rasmussen states: "The spirit of Vitriol is to take the uncompromising, thrashy, punky, spirit of the late 90s extreme death and bring it to a world that has been numbed by records that have abandoned all life in favor of shrink wrapped, candy coated articulation."
Tracklisting:

"Victim" video:

FOO FIGHTERS Release Surprise Live EP, '00950025'FOO FIGHTERS have released a surprise live EP. Titled "00950025", the three-song effort features "elusive live tracks," namely performances of "For All the Cows" and "Wattershed" from the band's headline set at 1995's Reading festival, as well as a live recording of "Next Year" from a 2000 concert in Melbourne, Australia.
Earlier today, FOO FIGHTERS tweeted: "A good day to take a look in the Foo Files. How about a few elusive Live tracks?" The band has also asked fans to submit their FOO FIGHTERS stories, from Reading '95 or elsewhere. A post on the newly launched FOO FIGHTERS webpage called Tell Us Your Foo Fighters Story reads: "We want to hear about YOU. Did you capture a great photo of your crew at a FOO show? Have a memory tied to a FOO FIGHTERS album or song? Or maybe just want to send a message to the band? Share your FOO FIGHTERS story and include any photos, videos or memorabilia."
FOO FIGHTERS are continuing to tour in support of their 2017 album, "Concrete And Gold". Although the disc reached the top of the Billboard chart, it failed to earn gold certification in the sales department. But the band remains a touring behemoth, having played 71 shows between June 2017 and June 2018, with an average gross of more than $1 million per stop.

DARK STATION Release Evocative New Video For “Obvious” SingleDark Station has released an evocative new video for their second single "Obvious" off of their debut album Down In The Dark set to release in 2019.
"It's me having to force myself to admit something I had known all along. As if it was inevitable, that something as pure and as beautiful as a relationship could be extremely toxic when blinded by love. When it becomes clear though, no matter how strong that feeling is, it hits hard and you can finally start to see it all for what it really is," says Nathan Spades (vocals) on what "Obvious" was written about.
Kyle Ort (guitar) adds this on the making of the video, "I sent a few emails back and forth with our director Robyn August once we got the song finished. He heard the song and we were on the same page immediately as far as what the vibe should be. We wanted to make a combination of A Perfect Circle's 'Judith' and NIN's 'Closer' with lighting like the movie Mandy. I think we nailed it."
In the spring of 2018, five Southern California musicians came together, leaving their respective projects behind, to form a new band. A band with the ability to seamlessly transition from crushingly heavy riffs to unforgettably haunting melodies and lyrics. With inspiration drawing from the top late 90's and early 00's rock bands, there's a certain familiarity to the music that's refreshing and yet evolved into what can only be described as Dark Station. "Down In The Dark" is poised to cement the band's name as a commendable force in the rock world. With rock on the rise, Dark Station has risen to the challenge of aiding in rock's revival.

BAEST Release "As Above So Below" Single And Music Video; Venenum Album Details RevealedOn September 13, Denmark’s death metal powerhouse, Baest, will release their second studio album, Venenum, via Century Media Records. Now, in time for their gig at Roskilde festival, Baest invite you to check out a new track from Venenum. "As Above So Below" features footage filmed at the band’s massive Copenhell show and was created by Karmacat.
“We're huge fans of Chuck Schuldiner and ‘As Above So Below’ is a glance towards Death and their original melodic approach. Chuck was an incredible songwriter and inspired musician, and we wanted to honour his work as a part of the Baest sound. So, the intro is followed up by some cold blooded brutality. Finally, we spice it up with some pure rock’n’roll. It adds up to an experimental track, we are really proud of. The video was filmed at Copenhell in June 2019 where we played the biggest, craziest and most memorable show in our history so far...”
Furthermore, physical and digital pre-sales for Venenum have just begun, the album will be released as limited edition CD digipak, digital album and apart from black LP+CD as various strictly limited coloured editions:
- 100x Light blue vinyl & 200x Petrol green ( cmdistro.de)
- 700x Clear-red splatter vinyl “Danish edition” ( store.baestband.com)

EMPEROR: Pro-Shot Video Of Entire HELLFEST SetARTE Concert has uploaded professionally filmed video footage of EMPEROR's June 23 performance at Hellfest in Clisson, France. Check it out below.
EMPEROR frontman Ihsahn (real name: Vegard Sverre Tveitan) recently once again dismissed the idea of the band writing and recording a comeback album. The group's last studio LP, "Prometheus - The Discipline Of Fire & Demise", was released in 2001 and was written entirely by Ihsahn. EMPEROR broke up shortly thereafter, with Ihsahn going on to pursue a solo career, while guitarist Samoth (real name: Tomas Thormodsæter Haugen) partook in a variety of bands, including SCUM and ZYKLON. EMPEROR has reunited frequently in ensuing years to perform live, but has continually resisted calls to release new material, something Ihsahn says won't change anytime soon.
"As you know, EMPEROR developed, at some point, I ended up making more and more of the music and eventually, I did all the music," he told Loud TV at Hellfest. "We'd rather stop at the level where we were all creatively involved, rather than doing it for keeping the logo or for any of those reasons. At this point, there's so much nostalgia attached to what we do, and we've been in the privileged position that people have developed similar relationships to these old songs that we did, as we are fans, to other bands. It's a very humbling position to be in. If you turned it around, what kind of EMPEROR could we possibly do? What kind of EMPEROR could we possibly do? We should make something that sounds like old EMPEROR? Or should we do something like EMPEROR would sound today? If it was up to me, EMPEROR would sound like my solo records because that's how I write metal. It's kind of a lose-lose thing. The whole point of black metal, people want something that is real and has integrity of what it is. At this point, none of us can see any reason to do that beyond what we already do. Just speaking for myself, I get to play all these old songs to people who have this strong relationship to it, in a similar way as I as a fan, have. But I also get to do my solo albums and continue that musical journey, and I see no reason to change that. We are at a very fine position now that we all just get to do what all of us wants. If there's some kind of festival or some kind of show that doesn't fit into our schedule, that's fine. We do just the stuff that is cool for us to do."
Ihsahn's seventh solo album, "Ámr", came out in May 2018 via Candlelight/Spinefarm. 11

JIMMY PAGE Reflects On LED ZEPPELIN I Album - "I Wanted To Have Something That Had The Full Breadth And Depth Of Orchestras, Through Guitar Music"In a new interview with Music Radar, Jimmy Page recalls Led Zeppelin’s first album as a lightning flash experience - “the whole album was done in 30 hours, so that’s pretty mind-boggling” - and his trusty Telecaster was the star of the show.
“The Telecaster was employed all the way through that album,” Page said. “It’s just a small little amp that I’m using, with a 12-inch speaker, and an overdrive box, and a wah-wah pedal at times. But it just goes to show the versatility of the Telecaster and what could be achieved with the minimal amount of equipment.
“By the time I’m doing Led Zeppelin I, there’s a whole landscape of guitarists that I’ve listened to, whether it was sort of blues or rockabilly, or a little bit of jazz or flamenco or classical, or whether it’s orchestras - I wanted to have something that had the full breadth and depth of orchestras, through guitar music.
“I wanted all of it on that first album. I wanted to do everything. I was going to throw everything I could do at that, because there was a great focus on guitar albums around that point, but I wanted to show [the guitar’s] total versatility on that [album] with that magical Telecaster.”
Page says he left the guitar behind when Zeppelin hit the road in 1969. In his absence, the guitar was stripped and repainted by a well-meaning friend, all but ruining it.
“In 1969, I go on tour and I leave my Telecaster behind with somebody who made ceramics and was also a bit of an artist,” Page begins, clearly pained by the memory.
“He was going to look after my house, because I’d had a break-in there and I’d had a guitar stolen, a Coral sitar, during one of the tours. So I was really nervous about leaving the house where we did all the rehearsals with Led Zeppelin and everything, and word had got around, so I thought, ‘I can’t leave the house empty. I’ll leave somebody to look after the house.’
“So I went off and did the tour, and the tour was absolutely amazing, as you can imagine. All of the Led Zeppelin tours were just getting more and more and more immense. The popularity of the band was just at such incredible levels. Each year that we went back, it just got bigger and bigger and bigger.
“So I came back and thought, ‘Oh, I’m so glad to be home,’ because I really enjoyed my home. My friend said, ‘I’ve got a present for you.’ I said, ‘Oh, what’s that?’ I figured it was going to be a bit of ceramics. He said, ‘A guitar!’ I looked at the guitar and I didn’t for one moment think it was mine.
“It was a Telecaster, but it had been painted with all these modulating lines, with very earthy colours, all over it. I said, ‘Yeah, where’s my guitar?’ He said, ‘Oh, no - that’s it. That’s my present. I repainted your guitar for you.’ I didn’t open the case. I didn’t wanna see it. Now, I would probably smash the guitar over his head, but as it was I was still so vibed out from the tour that the whole thing didn’t really fully connect. And, anyway, I was using a Les Paul at the time.”

INTO ETERNITY Post Video Of "The Sirens" From Loud As Hell 7Canadian bashers Into Eternity have issued the following update:
"Check out 'The Sirens' off our latest album at Loud As Hell last year! Catch us at Decimate 2.0 this coming weekend in Calgary as well! Cheers!"
In a new interview with the Regina Leader Post, Into Eternity’s Tim Roth promises fans won’t have to wait another 10 years for the follow-up to 2018’s The Sirens.
“That’s what people are saying online, ‘Aw, it’s gonna take 10 more years,’” said Roth.
But “it’s all happening as we speak right now. We have so many songs and so many riffs, so many lyrics — pages and pages of lyrics. So really, it’s a matter of getting the band together.”
His band has not found superstardom, but “I think everything worked out just perfect,” said Roth.
“I would never say, ‘Well, hey, we should be bigger’ or anything. We have fans all over the world that just are so passionate.”
It’s an honour to connect with people through their music, he said.
“(People who were) on the edge of suicide said that our music has somehow helped them and that is just really shocking to hear, like these heartfelt messages. And also just musicians saying how much of an influence we were to them and how we were their first show.”
It's been 10 years since Into Eternity unleashed 2008's The Incurable Tragedy on Century Media with former vocalist Stu Block, now of Iced Earth. A decade later, it's a new era for the band with their new album The Sirens, which features founding member and guitarist Tim Roth with a new lineup that includes: vocalist Amanda Keirnan (The Order Of Chaos), guitarist Matt Cuthberston (Untimely Demise), bassist Troy Bleich (Planet Eater) and drummer Bryan James Newsbury (Culled).
The Sirens features guest appearances by: former vocalist Stu Block (now in Iced Earth), Cam Dixon (ex-Annihilator) and Glen Drover (ex-Megadeth) and sees Into Eternity firing on all cylinders. The album was co-produced, mixed and mastered by former guitarist Justin Bender, while longtime artist Mattias Noren (Evergrey, Epica, Kamelot) designed the cover and layout.

Watch DREAM THEATER Perform In AthensRockway.gr has uploaded video footage of DREAM THEATER's July 2 concert at Gazi Music Hall in Athens, Greece. Check it out below.
When DREAM THEATER's "Distance Over Time" tour was first announced, guitarist John Petrucci told Rolling Stone: "The tour is going to be 'An Evening With,' and part of the evening will be playing some of the new record and some older songs in our catalog, and then also playing 'Scenes From A Memory' in its entirety. So it going to be a lot of fun. And that was a really important record for us, speaking of storytelling and all that. Because it was our first concept record."
Petrucci said that "Metropolis Pt. 2" was significant for him because "it was our first album with [keyboardist] Jordan [Rudess], so that was important. And it was the first album where we didn't use an outside producer. I remember back then having a conversation with Mike [original DREAM THEATER drummer Mike Portnoy] where we said, 'Let's not do that anymore. Let's produce ourselves.' And we basically have ever since. So in that respect, 'Scenes From A Memory' might have actually been a record that was a reaction to the previous one. And then we also figured that we hadn't done a concept album yet, and we decided that it was time. It was like, let's make our 'Operation: Mindcrime', our 'Tommy', our 'The Wall'. It was definitely a conscious decision to do something bold and new and different."
DREAM THEATER's 14th studio album, "Distance Over Time", was released on February 22. The artwork was created by long-time cover collaborator Hugh Syme (RUSH, IRON MAIDEN, STONE SOUR). The disc was produced by Petrucci, mixed by Ben Grosse and mastered by Tom Baker.
"Distance Over Time" marks DREAM THEATER's first album for Sony Music's progressive imprint InsideOut Music. The group spent the past 25 years recording under various labels in the Warner Music Group system, most recently Roadrunner Records, which released five albums by the band between 2007 and 2016. 1

ECLIPSE's New Single, 'United', Named Official Theme Song Of 'Dreamhack Showdown'"United", the new single from the Swedish rock band ECLIPSE, has been named the official theme song for DreamHack Showdown: a new Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) tournament.
To coincide with the kickoff of the tournament today, the single is available on all streaming/download platforms.
Dreamhack, the world's largest video game festival organizer chose "United" after hearing an advanced copy of ECLIPSE's upcoming album, "Paradigm".
"We ran across 'United' pretty much by accident," says Charlie Sirc, Dreamhack's product manager. "A colleague had it and played it in the car while traveling from one of our events. The minute we heard it we knew that this was the perfect song for Dreamhack Showdown."
Adds ECLIPSE frontman Erik Martensson: "'United' is a song about standing together when things come falling down. We may have had a more political perspective when writing it, but as always, what people read into lyrics is subjective. I think it works beautifully in this setting as well, and we are thrilled to be part of this massive movement that Dreamhack is fueling. Also, the fact that Dreamhack has chosen to focus on female players is an initiative that we wholeheartedly support. It's about freakin’ time!"
Dreamhack Showdown is an all women CS:GO tournament with the biggest prize pool ever in all women CS:GO history. The tournament takes place in Valencia, Spain July 5-7 and will feature the world's top women's CS:GO teams competing for three days in front of live and online audiences.
"Paradigm" will be released on October 11 via Frontiers Music Srl. On August 23, another new song, "Viva La Victoria", will be made avaialble as a 12-inch picture disc limited to 500 copies. The B-side is the acoustic "sellout version" of "Killing Me", a track from ECLIPSE's acclaimed 2017 album "Monumentum". Pre-orders for the picture disc are available at this location.

ECLIPSE is the primary musical vehicle of the prolific Swedish songwriter and producer Erik Martensson, who also comprises half of NORDIC UNION, an ongoing project with PRETTY MAIDS vocalist Ronnie Atkins. In addition, Martensson is one of three core members of the melodic rock/AOR supergroup W.E.T., which also features Jeff Scott Soto (SONS OF APOLLO, TALISMAN) and Robert Sall (WORK OF ART).
In a 2018 interview with Music Radar, Martensson discussed his goals for "Paradigm". "We're going to keep trying to find out what is ECLIPSE — what is our sound? — and wash away even more of the influences we've had since we were kids, and try to come up with something unique and original," he said.
ECLIPSE will next perform at Germany's Wacken Open Air festival on August 1. The band will embark on a European headline tour that kicks off on October 22 in Osnabrück, Germany.

TURILLI/LIONE RHAPSODY: 'Zero Gravity' Music VideoTURILLI/LIONE RHAPSODY — featuring original RHAPSODY members Luca Turilli and Fabio Lione, alongside former RHAPSODY members Dominique Leurquin, Patrice Guers and Alex Holzwarth — released its debut album, "Zero Gravity (Rebirth And Evolution)", on June 28 through Nuclear Blast (King Records in Japan and rest of Asia).
Comprised of 10 tracks, the record was produced by Luca and Fabio themselves, while Simone Mularoni (Domination Studio, San Marino) took care of its recording, engineering, mixing and mastering. Guest appearances by Elize Ryd (AMARANTHE) and Mark Basile (DGM), among others, round off TURILLI/LIONE RHAPSODY's first studio album. The contemporary cover artwork was designed by Stefan Heilemann (EPICA, PAIN, LINDEMANN), who has previously worked on both LUCA TURILLI'S RHAPSODY records.
The official music video for the song "Zero Gravity" can be seen below.
"Zero Gravity (Rebirth And Evolution)" track listing:

02. D.N.A. (Demon And Angel) [feat. Elize Ryd]

Luca states: "'Zero Gravity (Rebirth And Evolution)' is much more than an album title. It is a real band mantra underlining the evolution of a great artistic collaboration, a modern-day approach and the intention to evolve the band's sound to a new frontier, conceptually, musically and lyrically.
"This debut album will definitely present the multiple faces of our new band: modern ultra-heavy guitars, a vocal roller coaster inspired by QUEEN's masterworks, dramatic arrangements, breathing soundscapes enriched by ethnic music elements from different continents and surely the most emotional and intense lyrics we ever had. The new artwork realized by Heile represents the synthesis of such evolution and the deep heartfelt message related with it."
Adds Fabio: "'Zero Gravity (Rebirth And Evolution)' represents the perfect evolution of a musical vision we had, a great artistic collaboration to create a new fresh sound with amazing ideas, great production, hard work from great musicians and people involved and most importantly, a fantastic start for this new band. The new artwork realized by Heile represents the synthesis of such evolution in music and an amazing work that underlines the musical adventure you will have and feel listening to the record."
In support of the album, TURILLI/LIONE RHAPSODY set up a crowdfunding campaign to finance the recording process, through which it collected €60,000 (approximately $67,000) from its loyal and dedicated fanbase.

Australia's THY ART IS MURDER Releases Music Video For 'Make America Hate Again'Australian deathcore masters THY ART IS MURDER will release their fifth album, "Human Target", on July 26 via Nuclear Blast and Human Warfare (Australia and New Zealand). The disc was produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by Will Putney at Graphic Nature Audio in Belleville, New Jersey. The artwork was once again painted by Eliran Kantor (HATEBREED, TESTAMENT, ICED EARTH, SODOM).
The official music video for the album's third single, "Make America Hate Again", can be seen below.
Guitarist Andy Marsh comments: "Whilst we collectively identify as a left-leaning band, this song was not written to attack those who sit on the right side of the political sphere, but as a commentary on the tactics employed by both campaigns in the most recent U.S. presidential election. These crusades of social warfare would surely succeed in one result regardless of the victor, making people hate one another. The blood lust of the political spectator, armed with Fox, CNN and an iPhone, was satiated with aggressive slander-filled debate and fake radicalized propaganda masquerading as news, where both sides of the field rallied to provoke. Identity politics spread like the wildfires of California, smoking out people of all creeds to be branded as red or blue.
"Those on the regressive left may indeed have as much to answer for as their far-right opponents for creating a heaving divide in the space of public discourse, and a sustaining sense of animosity among communities around America and abroad," he continued.
"Polarizing leaders like Trump are, in part, a result of who we have become. Disconnected."
The "Make America Hate Again" video was directed by Max Moore, who has previously worked with KNOCKED LOOSE and CODE ORANGE.
Pre-order "Human Target" in various digital and physical formats from www.thyartismurder.net.
"Human Target" track listing:
01. Human Target
02. New Gods
03. Death Squad Anthem
04. Make America Hate Again
05. Eternal Suffering
06. Welcome Oblivion
07. Atonement
08. Voyeurs Into Death
09. Eye For An Eye
10. Chemical Christ
THY ART IS MURDER vocalist CJ McMahon left the band in 2015 over financial woes and substance-abuse issues. The frontman has since returned to the fold for 2017's "Dear Desolation" album.
Last year, CJ McMahon told Exclaim! that he hates it when THY ART IS MURDER is lumped in with the "cliché hashtag" of deathcore music.
"We all listen to so many different styles of music," he said. "That's what makes us unique; that we're so in touch with music as a whole.
"We're just writing music that we want to play and hear," he explained. "If people aren't going to give us a chance because they've heard someone call us a deathcore band, I really don't give a fuck. It is mindblowing that people will put shit on you without listening to your band just because of a genre's name. It's just a strange thing, man. I really don't get it."

Ex-SCORPIONS Drummer JAMES KOTTAK Praises TRUMP, Says Anyone Against America Is 'A Socialist Communist Asshole'James Kottak says that "anyone against America is a socialist communist asshole."
The unusual Independence Day greetings came after the former SCORPIONS and current KINGDOM COME drummer wished his 18 thousand followers a happy holiday on Twitter.
"Happy Fourth.... Trump rules!" the 56-year-old musician wrote, adding in a separate tweet: "Any one against America is a socialist communist a hole . Happy fourth"
Last month, Kottak, who calls himself a "news political junkie" on Twitter, made BLABBERMOUTH.NET headlines when he said that America should take care of its "homeless problem" before accepting any more "outsiders."
A day earlier, Kottak expressed his dissatisfaction over the fact the first night of the first Democratic presidential debate did not include any discussion of the homelessness problem in the U.S.
Kottak has spent much of the last year touring with the reunited KINGDOM COME, also featuring guitarists Danny Stag and Rick Steier, bassist Johnny B. Frank and singer Keith St. John (formerly of MONTROSE and LYNCH MOB).
In September 2016, Kottak was dismissed from SCORPIONS during his well-publicized battle with alcoholism and was replaced by former MOTÖRHEAD member Mikkey Dee.
SCORPIONS guitarist Matthias Jabs later said that he and his bandmates "had to make" the decision to fire Kottak, explaining that they gave the drummer "all the chances" to get better. "We reached the point — or he reached the point — where it was just not worth it," Jabs said.
Back in December 2017, SCORPIONS singer Klaus Meine slammed Donald Trump's plan to build "a great wall" along the U.S.-Mexico border, saying that the current U.S. president's immigration policy is "like the clock ticking backwards."
Last fall, Kottak told Detroit's 101 WRIF radio station that his recovery was "a work in progress." He explained: "Over the last 10 years, I would say I was 90 percent sober, and then I'd have these struggles and I'd go through a bad two- or three-week period. So right now it's, like I said, to use a cliché, it's one day at a time and I work the program. I still go out, and if you wanna drink a bottle of Jack in front of me, go for it — [it's] no big deal — but it is, like I said, a work in progress."
Happy Fourth....Trump rules!— James Kottak (@JKottak) July 4, 2019
Any one against America is a socialist communist a hole . Happy fourth— James Kottak (@JKottak) July 4, 2019
Look man I love rock and roll but my political views are private and personal...so get over it or unfollow me— James Kottak (@JKottak) July 5, 2019
I love America! Any questions?— James Kottak (@JKottak) July 5, 20196

MOTÖRHEAD Guitarist PHIL CAMPBELL To Release 'Old Lions Still Roar' Solo AlbumMOTÖRHEAD guitarist Phil Campbell will release his debut solo album, "Old Lions Still Roar", later this year via Nuclear Blast. The disc, which has been in the works for more than five years, will include guest appearances by Rob Halford (JUDAS PRIEST), Dee Snider (TWISTED SISTER) and Alice Cooper, among others.
Commented Campbell: "I'm really happy to release my first solo album, 'Old Lions Still Roar', worldwide. I'm also honored to have mega talented guests and friends do their thing. Looking forward to everyone taking a listen!"
Other guest musicians that will reportedly appear on "Old Lions Still Roar" include Chris Fehn (SLIPKNOT), Benji Webbe (SKINDRED), Matt Sorum (GUNS N' ROSES) and Whitfield Crane (UGLY KID JOE).
Campbell told Sweden's RockSverige about the musical direction of his solo disc: "It's not gonna be what people expect. I play piano on a few tracks. It's not gonna be all totally like MOTÖRHEAD. After many years, it's just nice to be able to do what I want. I could do what I wanted in MOTÖRHEAD, but we didn't wanna stray too far away. We'd put a saxophone in when we wanted and a piano and acoustics…"
Earlier this year, Campbell confirmed that he has scrapped plans to write a book. "I stopped it, 'cause I wanted to [a] record [with PHIL CAMPBELL AND THE BASTARD SONS] first," he told told Greece's "TV War". "Some things must remain a secret. Man of mystery — I wanna be Austin Powers.
"I may do it one day, yeah," he continued. "I've got two Swedish guys [Leif Eriksson and Martin Svensson] to help me write it. I just had too much pressure on last year. I had a problem with my house flooding, and we were trying to make the BASTARD SONS record, and the big shows we had, so I said, 'I need to wait a little bit.'"
Campbell is joined in PHIL CAMPBELL AND THE BASTARD SONS by his sons Todd, Dane and Tyla, plus vocalist Neil Starr. The group's debut album, "The Age Of Absurdity", was released in January 2018 via Nuclear Blast.

BLACK SHEETS OF RAIN - New Album To Feature Guest Appearance From VENOM INC. Frontman TONY DOLANRising UK metal trio, Black Sheets Of Rain, have announced that Venom Inc. frontman Tony “Demolition Man” Dolan will be making a return appearance on the band’s forthcoming album, after contributing a guest vocal on the song “No Rest” from their debut EP, In The Eye Of The Storm.
The album, due for release in 2020, will feature a song cycle based on characters from the novels of acclaimed horror author A.S. Chambers.
Vocalist / guitarist, Rich Davenport, who previously played alongside Dolan in Atomkraft, says: “We were blown away with Tony’s contribution to 'No Rest', and when we started to plan our forthcoming album, we thought he would be ideal to play one of the central characters from AS Chambers’ books in the new material we’re writing. With 'No Rest', Tony delivered a spoken word piece, but on the new album he’ll also be singing, so we’re all excited to be working with him again. We’re also planning a special bonus track, which will be announced nearer the album’s release.”
Black Sheets Of Rain’s debut EP In The Eye Of The Storm was released in April via W.A.R. Productions.

SLUDGEHAMMER Cover PETER GABRIEL's "Sledgehammer"; Music VideoIt's been a long time coming, with a band name like Sludgehammer, it was inevitable that the Toronto-based quintet would be doing a cover version of Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer". The two are a perfect pair up, which is demonstrated in the band's new music video covering the track.
The band comments: "After many drunken fan requests, many misspelled marquee billings and many hours spent researching the legalities. We at Sludgehammer are moderately delighted to release our 'Sledgehammer' cover. Peter Gabriel is our band inspiration, he has influenced every riff, blast beat and vocal harmony that we’ve created. We hope this does him some justice we hope you enjoy this as much as we did.”
Though the track is not on the band's latest album, Antechamber, released this past April, new fans can have their eardrums pummelled and destroyed by the heavy groove presented by the band. Those with an ear for Decapitated, Pantera, Lamb Of God, and Cannibal Corpse can dig into this slice of groovy progressive melodic death brutality.

Watch the clip below.
The merciless and jaw droppingly technical 10-track album was recorded at Stelthsound Studios in Thessaloniki, Greece and features artwork by Dixon Jong of Intuitive Designs.

Many shows and a tour with Hour of Penance and Abhorrent Decimation later the band released their second album Enslaved in 2016 on Comatose Music.
