Japan's GYZE To Release New Album Next Week; "Asian Chaos" Official Video Posted

Japan's GYZE To Release New Album Next Week; "Asian Chaos" Official Video Posted

The new Gyze album, Asian Chaos, will be released on July 10th via Out Of Line Music. The official video for the title track is available below.

Although Gyze is active overseas and targeting western market, with the new album, Asian Chaos, the main composer of the band Ryoji decided to highlight his Japanese identity. An amazing and unpredictable collaboration was born : being proud of his origins, he invited musicians of Gagaku - world oldest orchestra - to perform on a few tracks, introducing such traditional Japanese wind instruments as Sho, Hichirik and Ryuteki . The glory of lyrical melodies of Gagaku, combined with unique Japanese scale and integrated with heavy metal creates the unrivaled transcendent sound album showing how cool pure Japanese traditional music actually is. The new album is meant to leave the strong impression highliting originality of Gyze.

Asian Chaos includes a song in collaboration with a DragonForce vocalist Marc Hudson. Gyze has played with DragonForce on festivals and on their Asian tour where the bands became friends, so when Ryoji asked if Marc was interested to do guest vocals for the song he supported the idea. Look forward to find out what spice did Marc add to the song "The Rising Dragon"

Also, a bonus track for Japan edition is a cover of the iconic "Forever Love" by X Japan. Look forward to hear GYZE interpretation of this legendary song.

The tracklist is as follows:

"Far Eastern Land"
"Asian Chaos"
"Eastern Spirits"
"King Kamuy"
"Dragon Calling"
"Camellia"
"Japanese Elegy"
"The Rising Dragon" (ft. Marc Hudson from DragonForce)
"White Territories"
"1945 Hiroshima"
"Forever Love" (bonus track JPN)
"Vivaldi Winter" (bonus track JPN)
"Asian Chaos" (Far Eastern Mix)

GENE SIMMONS Says KISS Couldn't Do Full 'End Of The Road' Tour With ACE FREHLEY And PETER CRISS: 'They're Completely Undependable'

GENE SIMMONS Says KISS Couldn't Do Full 'End Of The Road' Tour With ACE FREHLEY And PETER CRISS: 'They're Completely Undependable'

Gene Simmons says that Peter Criss and Ace Frehley have both been invited to appear on KISS's "End of the Road" tour.

The trek, which kicked off in January, features the band's current lineup, consisting of Simmons, guitarist/vocalist Paul Stanley, drummer Eric Singer and guitarist Tommy Thayer.

As recently as this week, Ace said that he was open to playing with KISS again despite his social media outburst earlier this year in which the ex-KISS guitarist called Gene an "asshole and a sex addict."

But Simmons told The Evening Standard that while Frehley and Criss are welcome to join KISS on stage during the current tour, they are simply not reliable enough to be permanent fixtures on the trek.

"They were as important as any one of us in the early days of the band and they've both been invited to come on stage at some point in the tour," Gene said. "But we couldn't do the whole thing with them. They're completely undependable."

Simmons went on to praise Singer and Thayer, saying: "Eric's played with everybody: Brian May, BLACK SABBATH, Alice Cooper, you name it. He and Tommy have a love of labor. They show up on time, do the work and are thrilled to meet the fans. Other members, without naming names, have been miserable."

Last month, Stanley said that it was still possible that Frehley and Criss would make guest appearances during "End Of The Road".

"Who knows?" he said during an interview with the "Torg And Eliott" morning show on 96.3 WLVQ in Columbus, Ohio. "I have to say that door is open, but it's nothing that I contemplate daily. We're 45 shows into a sold-out tour, and it's going to continue. And it's a celebration, not of any lineup of the band — it's a celebration of everything we've accomplished with our fans. And that's not limited to any particular people. So whatever happens, happens. But this lineup in particular — Eric's been playing drums for over 25 years, I think, and Tommy's been in the band for 18 years, so we have a pretty good stability and tenure of this lineup."

Frehley recently said that while he has still not been approached to be a part of "End Of The Road", he is not ruling out being involved in some capacity. "I've offered my services, and they just haven't made the decision to bring me back," he told Oklahoma's KATT Rock 100.5 radio station. "And that's okay, because I'm having a lot of fun as a solo artist. But I also am concerned about the fans as well. I wanna give the fans the biggest bang for their buck, and they're not getting it at this juncture.

"They've had this lineup with Tommy and Eric for 15 years, and they announced they were doing the 'End Of The Road' tour, and that it was gonna be bigger and better than anything they've ever done in the past, and they gave the impression that maybe me and Peter might be involved, and this and that," he continued. "Then they just come out and pretty much do the same set they've been doing for years. So I don't know. It is what it is. I do my thing, and Paul and Gene are doing theirs."

The "End Of The Road" tour — the initial European leg of which began in Leipzig, Germany on May 27 — is expected to continue throughout 2020.

JUDAS PRIEST's ROB HALFORD: 'I'm Never Totally Happy With My Performance'

JUDAS PRIEST's ROB HALFORD: 'I'm Never Totally Happy With My Performance'

In a recent interview with Portland, Oregon's XRAY.FM, JUDAS PRIEST singer Rob Halford spoke about the illness that forced him and his bandmates to cancel their June 5 concert at Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

"This is the side of what we do that can be quite challenging," Rob said. "There's been something floating around in America that finally got to me. Where was it now? Let me think. I think I was in Austin, Texas when I started to feel sick, and then by St. Louis, it was really, really bad, and it turned out to be bronchitis. So, for the first time in living memory, I had to cancel a show down in Colorado, which I hate doing — I hate canceling shows. Because we love our fans so much and we know it's a major disappointment. But my doctors told me that if I didn't take the break that I needed, then it could have gotten a lot more serious, which, God forbid, it did, because I was flat on my back in bed for four days in Denver, filling the blood stream with every antibiotic and every kind of medication known to man. I'm still not completely over it. My voice is in decent shape. It's never as good as I want it to be, because I'm a perfectionist. I'm never totally happy with my performance — that's just the way I am. If I get one note wrong, it pisses me off. But I'm happy, man — I'm healthy, the band's healthy."

JUDAS PRIEST's 32-date North American tour with URIAH HEEP wrapped on June 29 at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.

PRIEST's current touring lineup consists of Halford, guitarists Andy Sneap and Richie Faulkner, drummer Scott Travis and bassist Ian Hill.

This past March, Halford was asked by Australia's May The Rock Be how he keeps his voice in shape. He responded: "If I knew, I would be, like, 'It's a dollar! Take a sip each night.' I don't know what it is; I really don't know what it is. I think one of the big life-changing moments is when I quit my drinking and my drugs 33 years ago because vocals is a physical performance. You have to get your rest and have all the right components in place to be able to give the performance you can give either in the studio, but primarily, on the road. And the roadwork is grueling, as far as the travel. You notice when you go on a holiday, you take one flight and you're away from a week and you come home and you go, 'I can't do that again. I need a year to recover.' Imagine doing that pretty much every other day for your life in 50-odd years. You do have to acclimatize and make the right adjustments for your physical performance in the voice. It's technique more than anything else."

VINCE NEIL On His Relationship With MÖTLEY CRÜE Bandmates: 'We Still Keep In Touch'

VINCE NEIL On His Relationship With MÖTLEY CRÜE Bandmates: 'We Still Keep In Touch'

MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil says that he doesn't really talk to his bandmates now that the band is no longer an actively touring entity. "We text a lot," Vince said during a question-and-answer session at last month's Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy Camp in Las Vegas. "Me and Nikki [Sixx, bass] go back and forth."

Asked by interviewer Miles Schuman what the members of MÖTLEY CRÜE text about, Vince said: "Not much. Just like, 'Hey, bud. What's happening?' That's kind of it. I don't really talk with Mick [Mars, guitar] much. But the other guys, yeah, we still keep in touch."

According to Neil, Mars has not really changed much in the four decades since MÖTLEY CRÜE's inception.

"It's funny," Vince said. "I have a home not too far from him, outside of Nashville, and I've never seen him. Mick is Mick. Like in ['The Dirt'] movie, [he] just keeps to himself, puts himself in his basement and plays guitar. That's Mick."

In 2015, MÖTLEY CRÜE completed "The Final Tour", closing the book on the band's iconic career after performing a total of 164 shows in 72 markets, grossing over $100 million.

To cement the sense of finality, the four members of MÖTLEY CRÜE in 2014 publicly signed a "cessation of touring" contract that prevents any of them from performing under the CRÜE name in the future.

A tour film about MÖTLEY CRÜE's final shows, "The End", came out in 2016.

This past spring, MÖTLEY CRÜE experienced a bump on multiple platforms, including downloads, streams and book sales, following the release of the band's biopic "The Dirt" via Netflix.

Ex-GUNS N' ROSES Drummer STEVEN ADLER Apologizes For 'Media Confusion,' Says He Is 'Alive And Well'

Ex-GUNS N' ROSES Drummer STEVEN ADLER Apologizes For 'Media Confusion,' Says He Is 'Alive And Well'

Steve Adler says that he is "alive and well," less than a week after he was hospitalized for a self-inflicted stab wound.

The former GUNS N' ROSES drummer addressed the incident in a video message posted to his Facebook page earlier today. In the clip, which can be seen below, Adler says: "I'm really sorry about all this media confusion that's been going on. I'm alive and well. I'm looking forward to seeing everybody on July 12 at the Golden Nugget in [Las] Vegas and July 13 at this motorcycle rally in Oregon, which is gonna be bad to the bone. And I love everybody, and I can't wait to see and hug everybody. Thank you so much for your love and support."

On June 27, local authorities responded to a call shortly after 6:30 p.m. for a possible suicide attempt at Adler's Studio City, California, home.

A spokesperson at the Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed to People that they were called to the address for a possible stabbing and transported one patient to the local hospital via ambulance.

Adler's representative later told TMZ that the stabbing was not a suicide attempt and was simply an accident. The rep would not specify what caused the accident except to describe it as a "very minor, superficial wound." He also insisted that Adler has been sober for several years.

Steven was the drummer for GUNS N' ROSES from 1985 to 1990. He was eventually fired from the band due to his drug addiction, which caused him to spiral down into depression and more drug use.

Adler's autobiography, "My Appetite for Destruction: Sex, and Drugs, and Guns N' Roses", came out in July 2010. In the book, Adler tells all, fearlessly addressing his struggles with heroin and crack addiction; his financial ruin after being kicked out of GN'R; his shattered marriage; and the severe health problems that nearly claimed his life on several occasions.

GUNS N' ROSES was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2012. Adler, guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan attended the ceremony, while singer Axl Rose and founding guitarist Izzy Stradlin stayed home.

Hey everybody! Hanging with Tommy Hollenstein at his art studio. Hope to see you at the upcoming shows!!!Posted by Steven Adler on Wednesday, July 3, 2019

GODSMACK Side Project THE APOCALYPSE BLUES REVIVAL To Release First Song

GODSMACK Side Project THE APOCALYPSE BLUES REVIVAL To Release First Song

GODSMACK's Shannon Larkin spoke to The Sound Lab about the recent breakup of his THE APOCALYPSE BLUES REVUE side project, also featuring GODSMACK's Tony Rombola, alongside featured Brian Carpenter on bass and Ray "Rafer John" Cerbone on vocals.

"We lost our singer recently, so we got a new singer," Shannon said (see video below). "Our old singer was an old guy; our new singer is a younger guy, around our age… Our [old] singer turned 70… We get in a van. We don't have these fancy tour buses. And we play clubs — blues clubs — in America, smoke-filled blues bars, with no roadies — one roadie. And our singer, a 70-year-old guy, couldn't do it. So we got a new singer. And now the REVUE wouldn't be the REVUE without our old singer, so we changed the name to REVIVAL. So it's THE APOCALYPSE BLUES REVIVAL — coming soon."

According to Larkin, THE APOCALYPSE BLUES REVIVAL recorded its first song during a recent three-day break from GODSMACK's touring activities, with plans to release it within the next week.

"It's the heaviest blues band in the world," Shannon said. "But it's blues. And it's heavy. And it's psychedelic."

THE APOCALYPSE BLUES REVUE released its second album, "The Shape Of Blues To Come", in July 2018 via Provogue/Mascot Label Group.

The news of THE APOCALYPSE BLUES REVUE's dissolution was broken by Cerbone, who blamed the group's breakup on scheduling conflicts.

It’s coming soon people. The Apocalypse Blues Revival has begun. Stay tuned for announcement of new singer as well as a...Posted by The Apocalypse Blues Revival on Monday, July 1, 2019

Watch ACE FREHLEY Perform In Huntington, New York

Watch ACE FREHLEY Perform In Huntington, New York

Scarygroove TV has uploaded video footage of Ace Frehley's July 2 concert at The Paramount in Huntington, New York. Check out the clips below.

Last fall, Frehley parted ways with the solo band that backed him on some of his most recent tours — Richie Scarlet on guitar, Chris Wyse on bass and Scot Coogan on drums/vocals — and replaced them with the musicians that played with KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons on his solo dates: Philip Shouse on bass, Ryan Cook on guitar/vocals and Jeremy Asbrock on guitar/vocals. Rounding out Ace's current band is drummer Matt Starr (MR. BIG).

Asbrock and Shouse are the founders of THEE ROCK N' ROLL RESIDENCY, a popular Nashville tribute band that routinely hosts surprise appearances by such rocks stars as Alice Cooper, Robin Zander (CHEAP TRICK) and Roger Glover (DEEP PURPLE).

Frehley first left KISS in 1982. He rejoined in 1996 and parted ways with the band once again in 2002 after the conclusion of their first "farewell tour." Since his departure, guitarist Tommy Thayer has assumed the role of the Spaceman.

Frehley's latest album, "Spaceman", was released last October via eOne. Gene co-wrote two tracks on the disc, "Without You I'm Nothing" and "Your Wish Is My Command", the latter of which also features Simmons's bass playing.

Frehley recently completed work on "Origins Vol. 2", the sequel to his 2016 collection of cover songs that inspired the former KISS guitarist. The LP, which is tentatively due in October, will feature guest appearances by Lita Ford (singing "Jumping Jack Flash") and CHEAP TRICK's Robin Zander (singing HUMBLE PIE's "30 Days In The Hole").

Video: DUFF MCKAGAN Performs At Seattle Record Store

Video: DUFF MCKAGAN Performs At Seattle Record Store

On June 18, GUNS N' ROSES bassist Duff McKagan took part in an in-store performance at Easy Street Records in Seattle, Washington. Video footage of the event can be seen below (courtesy of YouTube user "woodlawn1477").

Duff's new solo album, "Tenderness", came out on May 31. McKagan and Shooter Jennings began recording "Tenderness" more than a year ago, working out of Station House studios, located in Echo Park, California, where they wrote and recorded in-between McKagan's tour with seminal rock band GUNS N' ROSES and the release of Jennings's eponymous album, "Shooter". "Tenderness" features Jennings and his band along with appearances by The Waters and The Suicide Horn Section (which features Duff's brother Matt McKagan on trombone), amongst others.

McKagan told Billboard about the musical direction of "Tenderness": "I've been dabbling with this kind of songwriting for the last 20 years. I'm good friends with guys like Mark Lanegan and Greg Dulli, and both of those guys have influenced me tremendously. The thing is right now we have this huge rock band going [with GUNS], so I don't feel the need to peel off a rock record right now. It is the perfect time for me to do a record of whatever the fuck I want. I mean, I could have done it at any time. I've done a bunch of cool stuff in the past like WALKING PAPERS and the NEUROTIC OUTSIDERS, but it was more like aggressive punk rock. For this one, though, I really took my time with Shooter to get the right arrangements and the right instrumentation. It didn't have to be perfect. I didn't want any part of this record to be perfect; I wanted it to be real."

Watch RATT Perform In White Plains, New York

Watch RATT Perform In White Plains, New York

Fan-filmed video footage of RATT's July 3 concert at Westchester County Center in White Plains, New York can be seen below.

RATT singer Stephen Pearcy and bassist Juan Croucier recently confirmed that the band is planning to release new music in 2020.

"It's natural for us to, obviously, record," Croucier said during an appearance on the June 25 edition of "Trunk Nation LA Invasion: Live From The Rainbow Bar & Grill" on SiriusXM. "But [the current version of RATT has] only been together just about a year next month. And at that, we had a little bit of lag time, 'cause Stephen had to get his knee fixed. So we just wanna get the band out there. I think it's a mutual thing — we wanna get out there and play more shows, get the band in the right condition. And invevitably we're gonna go ahead and record."

Added Stephen: "Yeah, we wanna play new music. Whether we release a song or two, and maybe we'll do a video or some podcast. We're gonna do something."

This past May, Pearcy told Sleaze Roxx that he and Juan will be the primary songwriters of any new RATT music. "You know, 'Lack of Communication', 'You're In Love' and all these other songs that we co-wrote together, so we're going to try along those veins for songwriting," he said. "And we'll see what happens. I have plenty of ideas. Juan's got plenty of ideas and we'll see what the other guys have to offer down the line."

RATT's current lineup includes Pearcy and Croucier, along with drummer Pete Holmes (BLACK 'N BLUE) and guitarists Jordan Ziff (RAZER) and Chris Sanders (BRITNY FOX, KNIGHT FURY).

In January, Pearcy underwent knee surgery. The operation came three months after two disastrous RATT shows that saw the 62-year-old singer incapacitated to the point where he had trouble remembering the words to some of the band's biggest hits.

Pearcy later apologized to the RATT fans, saying in a statement that he was "dealing with a pain-management issue due to a bad knee." He added that he "made the critical error of adding alcohol to my pain meds while on stage" at the September concert in Huntington, New York "and it destroyed my performance."

RATT played its first show of 2019 on May 4 at the Domination México festival in Mexico City.

U.K. Thrashers ACID REIGN Announce First Album In 29 Years, 'The Age Of Entitlement'

U.K. Thrashers ACID REIGN Announce First Album In 29 Years, 'The Age Of Entitlement'

Reactivated U.K. thrashers ACID REIGN will release their first full-length album in 29 years, "The Age Of Entitlement", on September 27 via Dissonance Productions. The cover artwork for the disc was created by renowned artist Mark Wilkinson, who has previously worked with IRON MAIDEN, JUDAS PRIEST and MARILLION.

Commented vocalist Howard "H" Smith: "I was introduced to Mark by Al Barnes (ex-VENOM) last year in Bloodstock VIP and jokingly said if he ever fancied doing our cover art, I'd let him. Fast forward months later and amazingly he agreed to do it! We are thrilled to have such legendary figure involved with our album. For me, as a huge old-school MARILLION fan, it's the icing on the cake."

As for the album, Smith had this to say: "We started recording on August 1st last year with Jayce Lewis and he has been amazing. He was badgering me to do this for months. We had two other bigger names telling us they would love to do it, but Jayce showed us when recording 'The Man Who Became Himself' that he would go above and beyond to get the best out of what was a very difficult session. So just think what we could achieve when we are in a much better place. The results are stunning. You have an old-school thrash album with a contemporary twist and a production that honours that.

He continued: "I've had the title for a long time. Straight off the bat, it had an album-title ring to it and speaks to a world view that the entire band shares, which is important. Then Mark came up with the artwork, which he really knocked out of the park. We are all itching to get this out and now you know when you'll be able to get hold of it. Not long now. Single coming soon."

The album features ten tracks and will be available on streaming services, as a digital download, CD, LP and limited-edition cyan-colored vinyl.

In 1991, ACID REIGN left an ailing U.K. thrash scene with a final show at the London Marquee. They toured with the likes of NUCLEAR ASSAULT, DARK ANGEL, EXODUS, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM, DEATH ANGEL and CANDLEMASS. During this time, they put out two full-length albums, namely "The Fear" and "Obnoxious", following on from their mini album debut in 1988, "Moshkinstein". A final compilation, "The Worst Of Acid Reign", was released and their brief but highly productive career came to an end.

Since returning from a 24-year absence, the band — featuring original vocalist Howard "H" Smith, Pete Dee (bass), Paul Chanter (guitar), Marc Jackson (drums) and Cooky (guitar) — has been busy. On the back of two new songs, "Plan Of The Damned" (2015) and "The Man Who Became Himself" (2017), they hit the road both at home and throughout Europe for numerous tours and festival appearances, including the now-legendary record-breaking headline slot of the Sophie Stage at Bloodstock 2016. During this time, they have earned themselves a fearsome live reputation famous for its high energy, mass stage diving and violent pits. Reeling off old school classics from their back catalogue, they have become a must-see act that has seen the band sign with K2 live agency.

Video: UFO Performs in Pratteln

Video: UFO Performs in Pratteln

Fan-filmed video footage of UFO's June 16 concert at Z7 in Pratteln, Switzerland can be seen below.

The British rock legends have been rejoined by Neil Carter as they continue their 50th-anniversary "Last Orders" tour following the recent passing of Paul Raymond.

Raymond died from a heart attack on April 13, just days after UFO completed the U.K. and Ireland leg of "Last Orders" tour with a sold-out show at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire.

Neil was previously in UFO between 1981 and 1983, having played on the albums "The Wild, The Willing And The Innocent", "Mechanix" and "Making Contact". Before he joined UFO, he was in WILD HORSES, and he later continued his career with Gary Moore.

In a statement, UFO said: "On April 13th 2019, the UFO family got the tragic news that our bandmate Paul Raymond had died of a heart attack. It had been just a week since we finished the first leg of our 'Last Orders' tour in the U.K. While mourning his loss, sadly we also had to face the reality of what to do with the band. We feel moving forward with the tour is the right thing to do. We all know this is what Paul would have wanted us to do. We are therefore very pleased to announce that our friend and former bandmate Neil Carter has agreed to join us again and take over the keyboards/guitar and vocals slot for the remainder of the tour. Neil was already part of the family between 1981 and 1983, playing on the albums 'The Wild, The Willing And The Innocent', 'Mechanix' and 'Making Contact'. Before he joined UFO, he was in WILD HORSES, later he continued his career with Gary Moore. Together with Neil, we will bring our 2019 'Last Orders' tour to a close. We want to make sure that all our amazing fans get a fantastic experience out of it one more time."

The European leg of "Last Orders" kicked off on June 7 at Musik Zentrum in Hannover, Germany and included shows in Sweden, Holland, Spain, Switzerland and Belgium.

UFO will launch the North American leg of "Last Orders" on October 9 at Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, California.

While many veteran bands in such a position simply cease playing live and continue to record, UFO will no longer be releasing new music. The covers collection "The Salentino Cuts" (2017) is set to become a signing-off point.

Raymond was recruited by UFO in 1976 to replace the band's first keyboardist, Danny Peyronel. When Michael Schenker left UFO, Raymond joined Schenker's MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP and later hooked up with Pete Way in WAYSTED.

Raymond appeared on more than a dozen of UFO's albums, including "Lights Out" and the live classic "Strangers In The Night".

Video: EXTREME Performs At Colorado's FREEDOM FEST

Fan-filmed video footage of EXTREME's June 29 performance at the Freedom Fest in Golden, Colorado can be seen below.

This past January, EXTREME guitarist Nuno Bettencourt confirmed to Masters Of Shred that the band is putting the finishing touches on its first new album since 2008's "Saudades De Rock".

"We've been threatening to [release] a new album for almost 10 years now, but I think this time it's for real," he said. "I mean, at the very least I know that we have tracks done. And we have about 20, 25 songs to choose from, that we're excited about. We've gotta whittle it down to 12, which will be fun. But, yeah, we're doing it. A lot of the stuff's done. It's definitely an edgier, heavier record for us, which is fun. But I'm excited."

Three years ago, EXTREME singer Gary Cherone told Metalholic that the band's fans will be pleased with the musical direction of the group's new material. He said: "There will be, like all EXTREME records, familiar elements, but also stuff… Over the years, when Nuno and I write, we're affected by our environment and music changes throughout the years, so those elements… There will still be some new elements to the band as well. Hopefully that always happens; you always wanna grow and evolve and move on. But the guitars will be there, the harmonies will be there, the songs, the hooks, the lyrics… There'll still be elements of the past, but certainly new elements [as well]."

A live package celebrating EXTREME's "Pornograffitti" album was made available in October 2016. Titled "Pornograffitti Live 25 / Metal Meltdown", it included a DVD, Blu-ray and audio CD recorded at the band's show at the Las Vegas Hard Rock Casino on May 30, 2015, where they performed the record in full.

JOE LYNN TURNER Is Collaborating With PETER TÄGTGREN On 'Deep, Dark And Heavy' Album

JOE LYNN TURNER Is Collaborating With PETER TÄGTGREN On 'Deep, Dark And Heavy' Album

Legendary hard rock vocalist Joe Lynn Turner has confirmed that he is collaborating with Swedish producer and multi-instrumentalist Peter Tägtgren on a new album, to be released in early 2020.

"I actually did a show for [Peter's] brother's birthday once; his brother's a big fan," the former RAINBOW and DEEP PURPLE singer told Ginza at last month's Sweden Rock Festival (see video below). "And the next thing you know, we were hooking up. He sent me a track, and I wrote lyrics and melodies, and he came back and he loved it, and we started to do a record. So now we're about seven tracks into the record. Our schedules are pretty tough, with touring and all, but we're getting together the beginning of October [to] finish the record [and then we'll be] shopping the record."

Regarding the musical direction of the upcoming LP, Joe said: "I think people are gonna be extremely surprised, because it's a whole another side of me. [It's] very heavy. It's kind of classic rock meets industrial metal — or, as I would say, it's kind of like DEEP PURPLE meets PAIN. It's the best of both worlds, and it doesn't sound like anyone… There's no filler; it's all great songs. Deep content — none of this 'rock me, baby' stuff. It's really deep, dark and heavy stuff."

As for a possible release date for the record, Turner said: "I would say, to be fair, very early spring next year, because a label needs 90 days. They always need 90 days. I don't know why they need 90 days, but they need 90 days."

According to Joe, there are "absolutely" plans for him and the PAIN and HYPOCRISY leader to tour in support of the upcoming disc. "But you know what? We're not gonna put the cart before the horse," he said. "Right now we're getting the music down."

Turner's career spans more than 40 years and includes collaborations with the likes of RAINBOW, DEEP PURPLE and Yngwie Malmsteen.

Tägtgren is the founder and co-founder of PAIN, HYPOCRISY and LINDEMANN, as well as the owner of a successful recording studio in Sweden. Most of his time is devoted to The Abyss studio, where has worked on many classic albums, including those by DIMMU BORGIR, IMMORTAL, ENSLAVED, DARK FUNERAL and CHILDREN OF BODOM.

SHARON OSBOURNE: 'My Number One Priority Is Taking Care Of My Husband'

SHARON OSBOURNE: 'My Number One Priority Is Taking Care Of My Husband'

On Wednesday's (July 3) episode of the popular CBS daytime talk show "The Talk", Sara Gilbert asked the panel if they take enough personal time. Co-host Sharon Osbourne, who is the wife and manager of legendary heavy metal singer Ozzy Osbourne, responded: "I didn't until my husband's accident this year. I really didn't. It would be, 'I'll do it soon. In a couple of months, I'll do this or I'll do that.' And I would always put family stuff aside, and just realized after you have an accident how your life can change within a second. And [I] don't do that anymore. My number one priority is taking care of my husband."

In early April, Ozzy postponed all his 2019 tour dates, both in North America and Europe, as he recovered from an injury sustained while dealing with his recent bout of pneumonia. The singer fell at his Los Angeles home, aggravating years-old injuries from his 2003 ATV accident that required new surgery.

Most of the 2019 shows on what is being billed as Ozzy's last full world tour have been rescheduled beginning in February 2020. Fans are being asked to hold on to their original tickets, as they will be honored for the rescheduled dates.

The 70-year-old Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee has battled a variety of health issues since kicking off his farewell "No More Tours 2" tour last summer. He contacted a staph infection in October that forced the initial postponement of his North American tour dates.

In January, Osbourne scrapped his European tour because of an upper respiratory infection that turned into pneumonia, forcing him to cancel dates in Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

TORCHE Release "Admission" Music Video, Announce West Coast Tour

TORCHE Release "Admission" Music Video, Announce West Coast Tour

Torche will release Admission, the band’s fifth album, and first new music since 2015’s Restarter, on July 12 via Relapse Records. A video for the title track can be see below.

“'Admission,' the title track off of our new album, is an extremely important song to us on many levels. Steve has opened the doors to a deep and personal place, lyrically shedding light on his personal life, and I worked hard and diligently to capture the feeling of a song I wrote during trying times,” explains guitar player Jon Nuñez, who also produced the album. “Through the use of effects and various pedals, including a couple of my own line, Nuñez Amps, the feeling of the track took the shape it was destined for. The delays and heavy overdrive are essential to the song and we wanted a video to visually capture what the delays and driven sounds provided sonically. With 15 hours, a minimal setup, help from a couple good friends, and our cellphones, the band was able to create a video we are excited about and feel is the perfect visual companion to a song, and record, that has us excited in our sixteenth year as a band as we were when we first started.”

The video arrives both as Torche is on the eve of kicking off their first North American tour dates in support of the 11-song album, launching the first leg on July 8 in Tampa, and also announcing an additional two-plus-weeks run on the western side of the continent later this summer. Tickets for the newly announced shows are on-sale this Friday at 10 AM, pacific.

Find the band's complete tour itinerary here.

Admission pre-orders are available now via Relapse’s webstore. The 11-song album is available in various formats (CD/LP/CS/Digital) with several highly-limited colored vinyl options on-sale now.

The album artwork was created by Richard Vergez, a Cuban-American visual artist, who is known for his handmade collages that highlight the meeting of human and technological elements in our modern society. His work has been shown at No Romance Galleries (TriBeCa), Urban Arts Society (Chicago) and Kids of Dada (London).

DEEP PURPLE's IAN GILLAN To Release 'Contractual Obligation' Collection Of Performances

DEEP PURPLE's IAN GILLAN To Release 'Contractual Obligation' Collection Of Performances

Vocalist Ian Gillan, together with Robert Plant, Ozzy Osbourne and a few others, is considered one of the legendary voices that shaped hard rock. Despite his commitment to DEEP PURPLE, the singer has built an impressive solo career. "Contractual Obligation" is a collection of performances during a recent tour through Eastern Europe, which contains three shows which will be released on different formats via earMUSIC on July 26.

Still fresh from the success of the studio album "NOW What?!", and just a few months before the release of the latest and equally successful album "inFinite", Ian Gillan accepted the offer to tour for a month in Eastern Europe with a full rock show, accompanied every night by a different local orchestra. Gillan decided to recruit the DON AIREY BAND, which features the guitar talent of Simon McBride.

All shows were truly unique, with Airey and McBride delivering perfect performances night after night. DEEP PURPLE material (including rarities like "Razzle Dazzle" or "Anya") went hand in hand with Gillan solo songs and surprises for those into the deepest catalog.

The title is a humorous reference to Gillan's notorious reticence to pay any attention to his own or DEEP PURPLE live releases (as he explains in the album liner notes). This live album and video might well be one of the nicest chapters in Gillan's solo production ever and a reminder about how great his solo music and concerts have been over the years.

Curiosity: The last DEEP PURPLE album was named "Infinity" (which later turned into "inFinite") during the afternoon preceding the .

EPICA To Release Next Studio Album In Late 2020

EPICA To Release Next Studio Album In Late 2020

Dutch symphonic metallers EPICA are planning to release their next studio album in late 2020.

During an interview with Heavy TV at last month's Download festival, guitarist Isaac Delahaye revealed that he "already started writing some stuff" for the follow-up to 2016's "The Holographic Principle".

Speaking about the EPICA songwriting process, keyboardist Coen Janssen said (see video below): "We start out separately. Everybody gathers their ideas, records it at their own studio, and then we send it to each other. We eventually get together and try out how it sounds and how it actually feels when you play it, which is, I think, a really important thing. Because if you throw it out to an audience, they have to feel it. If you only just record it at your home studio, you don't know if it will work in a live environment. So that's basically how we do it."

EPICA will spend this fall playing a select number of exclusive shows in support of the 10th anniversary of its album "Design Your Universe". The disc holds a special place in the hearts of EPICA's fans and includes such fan favorites as "Kingdom Of Heaven" and "Design Your Universe".

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of "Design Your Universe", the band will return to a number of venues they played while touring on the album back in 2009-2010.

According to Delahaye, there will be a new version of "Design Your Universe" coming out, featuring "some extras," including a "bonus CD" with "five acoustic" renditions of songs from the original album. "And we're gonna do a re-release 'Design Your Universe' tour, or however it's called, so we're gonna play some shows in Europe and South America," he said. "It's just another tour to celebrate 10 years of that album… So that's something to look forward. I'm really looking forward to that. 'Cause it's also the first album I — when I joined the band, that was the album we worked on, so, for me, it's a special album as well."

November 2019 will see the release of "The Essence Of Epica", a lavishly designed and fully illustrated, high-quality hardback which tells the story of EPICA in bandmembers' own words. The book is available in two distinct editions: the Classic is a 208-page, hardback with foil detailing, filled with over 200 images; the Signature hardback is signed by the band and comes in a deluxe clamshell box with three exclusive, original art prints created by Stefan Heilemann.

FOSCOR Announce New Album Details; Premiere First Single

FOSCOR Announce New Album Details; Premiere First Single

Catalan atmospheric metal band Foscor will release their latest studio album, Els Sepulcres Blancs, on September 6th via Season of Mist. The band have revealed the tracklisting and cover art, which can be found below. In conjunction with the announcement, they have released the first track from the effort, “Cel Rogent".

Foscor comment on the track:

"Working once again alongside Season Of Mist is a thrilling pleasure... but being able to share the emotions hidden in this new album with you all is the greatest of privileges.

"Els Sepulcres Blancs sets the second step in our very own conceptual trilogy started in 2017 with 'Les Irreals Visions.' Transforming all life moments in eternal is our goal, and reaching reconciliation between the far beyond and the here, the path. At this stage, visual things must acquire a new meaning, and it is with the act of dreaming how we set a platform to conceive a better world.

"The title translates as 'The White Tombs,' a metaphor for a poetical bed where humans chained to reality may die and born free to imagine a better world. The door to the most individual state of mind, the world of dreams and expectations, and a shelter for the livings where dreaming for the change. We are dealing with that topic from both real and oneiric point of view... as the Modernisme / Art Nouveau movement used to do one century ago.

"The first song premiered, 'Cel Rogent,' describes perfectly both extremes we are dealing with, in a hard to describe whirl of untouchable emotions. The red sky that this song opens invites us to enter to our most intimate parcel at night or in the daily new dawn of hopes. We really wish you enjoy and join once again our tragic darkness."

RIMFROST Release Stephen King Inspired Track “Dawnbreaker”

RIMFROST Release Stephen King Inspired Track “Dawnbreaker”

The second track from the yet-untitled forthcoming full-length by Swedish black/death metal band Rimfrost was inspired by the character André Linoge from Stephen King's Storm Of The Century. A lyric video is now streaming for “Dawnbreaker”.

Storm Of The Century, alternatively known as Stephen King's Storm Of The Century, is a 1999 American horror television miniseries written by Stephen King and directed by Craig R. Baxley.

Series synopsis: A very powerful blizzard hits the fictional small town of Little Tall Island. While trying to deal with the storm, tragedy strikes when one of the town's residents is brutally murdered by André Linoge, a menacing stranger who appears to know the town members' darkest secrets.

Linoge is imprisoned in the town's holding cell and uses his various abilities to affect the town, driving people to commit suicides and inflict terrifying dreams. He reveals his true form- an impossibly ancient, dying man. “Dawnbreaker” tells the tale from when Linoge reveals his true self.

Rimfrost recently signed with USA-based Ferocious Records for an autumn album release. Last month the label reissued their music video for “Bloodnight”. More details about the new album forthcoming.

STORMLORD Premier "Mediterranea" Music Video

STORMLORD Premier "Mediterranea" Music Video

Stormlord have released a video for "Mediterranea", the third single from their new album, Far, out now via Scarlet Records. Order the album here, and watch the new video, directed by Trilathera, below.

The album includes ten new songs, amongst the fastest and most aggressive ever composed by the band, with epic and solemn atmospheres and the best orchestrations they’ve ever conceived.

The lyrical concept is enriched with new nuances, ranging from the traditions of the peoples of the Mediterranean to the myth and glory of the ancient Rome, without forgetting to pay tribute to immortal icons such as Robert E. Howard (author of Conan The Barbarian), celebrated in the song "Cimmeria".

Far was recorded between the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019 by Giuseppe Orlando (Novembre) and Riccardo Studer, while Simone Mularoni (DGM) took care of the mastering duties. Notable Hungarian artist Gyula Havancsak (Destruction, Annihilator) is the author of the artwork.

CANNIBAL CORPSE Frontman Cried After Seeing PAT O'BRIEN Wearing Anti-Suicide Vest In Court

CANNIBAL CORPSE Frontman Cried After Seeing PAT O'BRIEN Wearing Anti-Suicide Vest In Court

CANNIBAL CORPSE frontman George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher says that the band is "100 percent" behind its lead guitarist Patrick "Pat" O'Brien who is facing a litany of legal issues following his recent arrest.

O'Brien, who has been a member of CANNIBAL CORPSE for more than two decades, was arrested on December 10, 2018 for burglary and assaulting a police officer while his Florida home was in flames.

Fire marshals found a large cache of weapon, locked safes and potential explosive devices inside O'Brien's home, including 50 shotguns, 20 semiautomatic rifles, two Uzi-style firearms, 20 handguns and two flamethrowers. Authorities also discovered thousands of rounds as well as additional weapons.

O'Brien was released from Hillsborough County jail on December 14, 2018 after posting a $50,000 surety bond. Several days earlier, at a hearing, a judge told the 54-year-old musician, clad in an anti-suicide vest with his hands and ankles chained together, that he would first have to pass a drug test before he would be allowed to post bail and leave jail.

During an appearance on a recent episode of "The Jasta Show", the podcast hosted by HATEBREED's Jamey Jasta, Fisher expressed his shock over O'Brien's arrest, saying: "I don't wanna speculate about what could have happened that night, but it could have been way worse — for him.

"When people were seeing [TV reports about] it — I think on the Tampa news, they were pretty good with him," he continued. "They just said he was one of the best guitar players in death metal in America, and in the world, and he's highly respected. And they didn't really trash him at all. And they showed him on TV."

According to Fisher, most of the CANNIBAL fans have been very supportive of Pat while he is dealing with his ordeal. "In the metal world, I think in general, 95 percent [of the people], everyone was, like, 'Get well soon,'" he said. "I didn't spend too much time reading stuff online, because that's when you get people who just wanna say nasty stuff just to be nasty."

In O'Brien's absence, CANNIBAL CORPSE completed two separate U.S. tours with fill-in guitarist Erik Rutan. The former MORBID ANGEL guitarist appeared live with CANNIBAL for the "Decibel Magazine Tour" and the spring 2019 U.S. leg of SLAYER's final tour alongside LAMB OF GOD and AMON AMARTH.

Fisher went on to say that he and his bandmates are looking forward to O'Brien's return to CANNIBAL CORPSE.

"We love him," he said. "We want him back. But when I saw him in the court with the vest, dude, I cried. Because we just got home from tour… We wish the best for him, and we're just waiting to see [what happens]. He's got a road ahead of him still with legal issues, and that's out of our hands. We support him 100 percent; we're behind him 100 percent."
