BURIAL REMAINS Featuring FLESHCRAWL Vocalist Streaming New Track “Day Of Dread”Old-school death metal band Burial Remains have announced their debut full-length will be released July 12th via Transcending Obscurity Records. New track, "Days Of Dread", is streaming below.
One of the most promising old school death metal bands with members of Fleshcrawl, Grim Fate, etc. give us their debut full length titled Trinity Of Deception. Mixed and mastered by Jonny Pettersson of Wombbath, Heads For The Dead and more, with guest vocals by none other than Ralf Hauber of Revel In Flesh, Heads For The Dead, this is one death metal release that will send out shock waves in the underground. With phenomenal artwork from Mortuus Art of Sadistik Forest fame, every little aspect of this release has been taken care of by known professionals. Musically, this is a devastating slab of old school death metal that is worthy of being mentioned alongside the genre's greats such as Carnage, Dismember, Entombed and Grave, with the difference being that these guys are faster, hungrier, and play with maniacal energy. It's a breath of fresh air when most bands are trying to play safe and these guys are just rampaging through everything in their path.

“Crucifixion Of The Vanquished”
“They Crawl”
“Trinity Of Deception”
“March Of The Undead”
“Burn With Me”

To commemorate the 15th anniversary of Lamb Of God's classic debut album, Ashes Of The Wake, the landmark album is reborn as the new Ashes Of The Wake - 15th Anniversary Edition - a special double-vinyl re-release of the album that catapulted the band to iconic status. The two LP set - which includes four exclusive tracks, including the B-Side "Another Nail For Your Coffin", and three previously unreleased demos - is available today in both vinyl and digital formats. Order here.
In celebration of the release of Ashes Of The Wake - 15th Anniversary Edition, Lamb Of God have revealed a lyric video for the special B-Side "Another Nail For Your Coffin".
Guitarist Mark Morton: "As a musician, the timeline of Ashes of the Wake was very intimidating for me. With that first Burn the Priest album, we wrote the songs over four or five years. Then between that and 'New American Gospel,' we had a solid two years; we were still working our day jobs and playing shows up and down the East Coast. Then another two years between 'Gospel' and 'As the Palaces Burn.' But right after 'Palaces' dropped, we got signed to Epic, so we had to go right back into writing mode. Not only did we now have the pressure of being on a major label, but we had just recorded what we thought was a really killer album, and then we had to do it all over again. But the stakes were way higher."
Each double-vinyl includes a download card, and is manufactured on limited Green Smoke vinyl for the Lamb Of God store only. Additional retailers will carry standard black vinyl. A digital version is also available on all DSP's. Order Ashes Of The Wake - 15th Anniversary Edition here.

Guitarist Mark Morton states, "This year, Lamb Of God will celebrate the 15th anniversary of the release of our third studio album, Ashes Of The Wake. As I recall that moment in time, it was a pivotal point for our band. We were transitioning from the relative comfort of an underground scene that we felt confident and natural in, to a much higher profile with higher stakes and more critical eyes upon us. It was our first release on a major label and our first to be aggressively marketed through mainstream channels. I remember feeling a mixture of pressure and confidence, along with a pervasive uncertainly as to whether our brand of bottled insanity would translate to a larger audience. Ultimately, I think our biggest strength in that situation was that we never let pressure, expectation or the potential for failure effect our creative process. We stepped up our collective focus and concentration to rise to the occasion, but we stuck together and stayed true to our identity, artistically and otherwise. That tunnel vision approach to our creative process is part of our DNA as a band. I believe it's a large part of what keeps us honest and motivated to this day.
"For Ashes Of The Wake to be remembered and celebrated 15 years later is a true honor. I think I can speak for all of us when I say that it is incredibly special to know that these songs have touched people's lives in a positive way and that they are still relevant so many years later. Thanks to all of our fans for an incredible ride so far... and cheers to the years to come!"

COLD Set September Release Date For New Album, The Things We Can't Stop; "Shine" Lyric Video StreamingAlternative rockers, Cold, have announced a September 13 release date for their sixth studio album and Napalm Records debut, The Things We Can't Stop. The album is available for pre-order here, and a lyric video for the first single and anti-bullying anthem, "Shine", can be found below.
Of the song, Ward says "It’s about dealing with physical abuse at home and becoming triumphant over bullying.” “I faced bullying throughout my early formative years. I’m hoping it helps someone feel not so alone if they’re going through it right now.”
Cold have always documented memories and moments in song, etching them forever in diaristic lyrics, cinematic production, and airy guitars. Since their 1997 self-titled debut, the group fronted by singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist SW, has consistently converted pain into poetry consumed by a legion of diehard fans affectionately dubbed, “Cold Army.”
After a dormant two-year period, 2017 saw Ward turn his attention to Cold through once again surveying the events of an ever-changing journey and relying on the same internal compass responsible for his catalog thus far.
“I needed life to happen to be able to create,” he admits. “There were probably around 15 years where all I did was live and breathe the band. I needed to separate from that to remember what it was like to not have it anymore. It was extremely important for me to spend time with my family. I did experience writer’s block for the first time in my life during the process though. It was brutal, because the one thing I’ve always had—left me. It seemed the series of events in my life had taken away my soul. It turned around. I’ve remained adamant about evolving a bit with each record. Approaching every chapter as a new beginning is paramount and necessary for it to be a true Cold album.”
That’s exactly what he made with his 2019 debut for Napalm Records, The Things We Can’t Stop. In order to overcome the drought, he returned to his “alternative roots,” spinning favorite records from The National, Interpol, and Placebo in addition to reading musician biographies. Discovering Nick Cave’s One More Time With Feeling documentary proved eye-opening. Not only did he watch the film over twenty times and develop a deeper appreciation for the artist, but Ward credits “him for breaking my block.”
He recorded the album in multiple locations. Drums and bass would be cut in Phoenix with Jeremy Parker at Equinox Studios joined by Nick Coyle [guitar, keys, backing vocals], Lindsay Manfredi [bass], and Aaron Fulton [drums]. The rest of the material came to life at Ward’s home studio in California and in the woods of Pennsylvania at Nick’s.
With instrumentation in place, his vision unfolded in classic Cold fashion.
“Every time we begin a record, I wait for the music to tell me what the songs will be about,” he explains. “I can never start a record with a preconceived notion of how it will end. The notes from the piano dictate the stories within the songs. I needed this to be an album with elements from all of the past albums…along with a new sound. As songs started forming, I felt they helped me deal with things happening in my life. They were therapeutic. It seemed powerful in that it took all of the bad things going in my head and gave me hope.
This uplifting spirit courses through the songs. Thick drums and a feedback buzz unlock the opening track “Shine” backed by an encroaching guitar riff. SW’s voice builds from evocative verses into an immediately hummable hook, “I want to see you shine.”
In the end, The Things We Can’t Stop shines a light on life’s tragedy only to color it with beauty as Cold have always done.
“When you listen to this, if you’re going through something tragic, maybe you can take a small bit of hope that you’re not alone,” Ward leaves off. “To me, Cold means family. The fans who have stayed with us throughout the years and the people who have worked with us and are all connected through the music. The shows are reunions. These people have become my life. I’m extremely thankful.
The Things We Can’t Stop tracklisting:

GEEZER BUTLER Doesn't Rule Out One-Off BLACK SABBATH ReunionGeezer Butler has told Classic Rock magazine that he is he isn't ruling out a one-off BLACK SABBATH reunion. "If it came up, I wouldn't say never," the bassist said. "I can't imagine it ever happening, but then I said that about the SABBATH tour, and it happened, so who am I to know?"
Butler went on to say that he is still in contact with SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi, but he has not spoken to Ozzy Osbourne.
"I haven't seen Ozzy at all," Geezer said. "I've seen Tony and Bill [Ward, original drummer] at a couple of awards things we've done, and me and Tony stay in touch through e-mails, but that's about it. But it's good between us. It's like having brothers. You don't have to be in touch."
In February 2017, SABBATH finished "The End" tour in Birmingham, closing out the quartet's groundbreaking 49-year career.
"The End" was SABBATH's last tour because Iommi, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2012 and is currently in remission, can no longer travel for extended amounts of time.
SABBATH wrote and recorded its 2013 reunion album, "13", and toured it all over the world while Iommi was going through treatment for his illness, with the guitarist having to fly back to England every six weeks.
The original lineup of SABBATH came together in 1969 with Iommi, Osbourne, Butler and Ward. That lineup recorded and toured through 1978, and periodically reformed through the '90s and 2000s for live work.
They regrouped again in late 2011 for a new album and tour, although Ward dropped out after a few months over financial issues. SABBATH has used Ozzy's regular touring drummer Tommy Clufetos since then for live work. RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE's Brad Wilk laid down the drum tracks on "13", which came out in June 2013.

SILVERSTEIN Collaborates With BEARTOOTH's CALEB SHOMO On 'Burn It Down' SingleSILVERSTEIN has signed with UNFD. The band will enter the studio later this year to record its ninth studio album for a 2020 release.
With the signing announcement comes a brand-new song from SILVERSTEIN, which will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2020. Fans can now listen to "Burn It Down ft. Caleb Shomo" below.
Caleb Shomo is the frontman for the Columbus, Ohio band BEARTOOTH. While members of the two groups have performed live together a handful of times as SILVERTOOTH, "Burn It Down" is the first recorded music they've collaborated on.
"Burn It Down ft. Caleb Shomo" is SILVERSTEIN's first since 2017's "Dead Reflection", the band's ninth studio album. On April 12, SILVERSTEIN released "Redux: The First Ten Years", which featured newly recorded versions of select songs from their first four studio albums.
"The song picks up right where 'Dead Reflection' left off," explains SILVERSTEIN vocalist Shane Told. "It has the catchiness and riffiness of that album, but production wise and vocally we took another progressive step in a direction we feel great about. It hits hard and tells a story but gets you straight to the point. It's not messing around — direct and in your face. Once the bridge section music was completed, we could imagine Caleb's voice working so perfectly over it — so we sent it to him and said 'do your thing.' He sent it back and I just about fell over when I heard it."
SILVERSTEIN is composed of Shane Told, Paul Koehler, Billy Hamilton, Paul Marc Rousseau and Josh Bradford.

BABYMETAL Releases New Single 'Pa Pa Ya!!'Japanese pop metal act BABYMETAL has just released a new single, "Pa Pa Ya!!". The track, which features Thai musician F. Hero, will appear on BABYMETAL's next album, due later this year.
BABYMETAL's upcoming disc will be the follow-up to 2016's "Metal Resistance". Right after the release of this second disc, they performed at London's prominent venue SSE Arena, Wembley and became the first Japanese act to have ever headlined there, breaking the all-time merchandising sales record at the venue. BABYMETAL also had successful back-to-back performances at the massive Tokyo Dome thereafter, playing to 110,000 people over two nights.
"Metal Resistance" debuted at No. 15 on the official U.K. chart, the highest rank for a Japanese artist in recorded history. The album was very well-received in all other territories as well, including another record-breaking position for a Japanese artist in the U.S. with a No. 39 position on the Billboard chart.
Last fall, BABYMETAL digitally released a new song called "Starlight". It marked the rebirth of the band in which Su-Metal and Moametal form the core.
BABYMETAL spent all of 2018 touring without Yuimetal, who was formerly one of the members of the group's core trio. She later exited the band, explaining in a statement that she would go on to pursue a solo career as Mizuno Yu.
Over the last few years, BABYMETAL has established itself as the most globally successful J-pop group of the past decade.
The band describes itself as kawaii metal, kawaii meaning "cute" in Japanese.
BABYMETAL will embark on a fall 2019 U.S. headlining tour in support of its upcoming album. The band's first-ever full-scale headlining U.S. tour will kick off on September 4 in Orlando, Florida, and run through an October 16 in Seattle, Washington. The trek includes the previously announced October 11 gig at The Forum in Los Angeles, which will mark BABYMETAL's first headlining arena show in the States.
Support on the BABYMETAL tour through the October 4 show in San Francisco will come from the Swedish metal band AVATAR. The last two dates will feature THE H as opening act. 7

IN MOURNING - Garden Of Storms Album Details Revealed; European Tour AnnouncedSweden's melodic, progressive death/doom metal masters, In Mourning, will release a new studio album titled Garden Of Storms on October 4 worldwide via Agonia Records. Shortly following the album's release, the band will embark on a European tour with Omnium Gatherum.
The band commented on the new album: "We made a new album! It's called Garden of Storms and it is the final piece in a trilogy which started with The Weight Of Oceans. We've headed back... and forward, at the same time. We're back recording with Jonas Kjellgren who made the sound of our earlier albums, yet we have a lot of things that are new with this album. The band constellation is new with Sebastian and Jocke, we've worked in ways we've never done before, new vibes and new songs even if we planted the seeds to some of them a long time ago. In times where things kind of seem to scatter and change a lot around us, this still feels like our most solid, honest and complete album to date."
Hailed by many as the heir to Opeth's melodeath throne, In Mourning was formed in the Swedish woods in the year 2000. Since then, the band has evolved, striving to refine its sound to what it is today. Musically, the group blends a broad spectrum of influences into a foundation of melodic death metal. Thrusting from doomy metal-riffs, blasting drumbeats and deep growling vocals, to calm breezes of clean flowing melodies and harmonies.
In Mourning's last album, Afterglow, was released to critical acclaim in 2016. In 2018, the band's lineup went through a change; drummer Daniel Liljekvist (ex-Katatonia) was replaced by Joakim Strandberg Nilsson (Faithful Darkness, Nonexist) and bassist Sebastian Svalland (Letters From The Colony) filled in for Pierre Stam (ex-October Tide). Together with founding member, guitarist and vocalist Tobias Netzell, as well as guitarists Björn Pettersson and Tim Nedergård, they recorded Garden Of Storms between March and May 2019 at two different, Swedish studios - Black Lounge (drums & bass) and Beckasinen (guitars, vocals and keyboards). Jonas Kjellgren took care of mixing and mastering.
Garden Of Storms features seven new tracks replete with artwork from Kristian Wåhlin (Bathory, At The Gates, King Diamond).

TONY IOMMI And GEEZER BUTLER Attend Official Naming Of 'BLACK SABBATH Bridge' In Birmingham (Video)The official naming of the "Black Sabbath Bridge" in honor of Birmingham's legendary heavy metal rockers took place earlier today (Wednesday, June 26) in the heart of the city's entertainment district.
Two BLACK SABBATH founding members attended the extraordinary event at the road bridge, which crosses the canal on Broad Street.
Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler cruised on to the scene aboard a narrowboat to unveil the new bridge signage from the canal below the bridge, with hundreds of BLACK SABBATH fans flocking to the city to watch.
Check out photos at Birmingham Mail.
Westside Business Improvement District (BID) has worked closely with the Canal & River Trust charity and Birmingham City Council to have the bridge renamed as "Black Sabbath Bridge."
As well as the new bridge name, a uniquely designed "heavy metal bench" incorporating images of the band's original four members is permanently based on the bridge, and this is expected to become a major new tourist attraction for the city.
Westside BID originally unveiled the bench to fans at a private ceremony at St Luke's Gas Street Church in February, which means today's bridge-naming event was also its public launch.

LAMB OF GOD: Pro-Shot Video Of Entire HELLFEST PerformanceProfessionally filmed video footage of LAMB OF GOD's entire June 23 performance at Hellfest in Clisson, France can be seen below (courtesy of ARTE Concert).
LAMB OF GOD guitarist Mark Morton recently confirmed that the band has commenced work on the material for the follow-up to 2015's "VII: Sturm Und Drang" album. "[There are] no specifics to announce — no [release] date or anything like that — but it is underway, for sure," he told Graspop Metal Meeting.
Asked if LAMB OF GOD is feeling any pressure following up an album that is already four years old, Morton said: "I don't think any more than usual. The new material is always really important to us, and it is this time as well. So we're really putting a lot of ourselves into it and a lot of our personal experience and a lot of good energy going into it. But at this point, I don't think there's any pressure, except just to document where we are at this point in our career and feel good about it."
This past March, Morton said that LAMB OF GOD had "a ton of new song ideas" for the band's next studio album. He also revealed that singer Randy Blythe had "already recorded some demo stuff" but stressed that LAMB OF GOD had not yet begun the recording process for the group's next disc.
LAMB OF GOD is spending most of June and early July making festival appearances in Europe. The band is also scheduled to play at the Aftershock festival in Sacramento, California and Exit 111 festival in Manchester, Tennessee in October.
It is not presently clear if LAMB OF GOD's new album will feature drummer Chris Adler, who has not performed with the band for the past year because he has been undergoing physical and occupational therapy for injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident in late 2017. Filling in for Adler in LAMB OF GOD is Art Cruz, who has previously played with PRONG and WINDS OF PLAGUE, and recently accompanied Morton on his first-ever solo tour.

ENDSEEKER Release "Spiritual Euphoria" Music Video; The Harvest Album Details RevealedHamburg, Germany-based death metal act Endseeker have just announced September 13 as the release date for their debut Metal Blade Records full length album, The Harvest. Watch a video for the track "Spiritual Euphoria" below, and pre-order the new album here.
Pre-orders for the album are available in a number of formats:
- Ltd. Digi-CD w/bonustrack
- 180 g black vinyl
- Dead gold marbled vinyl (ltd. 300)
- Light grey/blue marbled vinyl (ltd. 200)
- Black/white splatter vinyl (ltd. 100/Kingsroad exclusive)
- Cool grey marbled vinyl (ltd. 100/US-exclusive)
Endseeker worked once again with Eike Freese (Heaven Shall Burn, Deep Purple, Gamma Ray), the same producer behind their 2017 debut album Flesh Hammer Prophecy. The album was laid down at Chameleon Studios, Hamburg, and it was described as "a painless, pleasurable process for all." Everything on The Harvest feels natural, the songs flowing freely without being predictable, and doing the maximum amount of damage as they thunder from the speakers.
The band adds: "The new album provides a lot of diversity and surprises. The vocals are varied and the melodies are catchy, but it's still far away from mainstream. You can hear the influential heritage but we hopefully also added some new and relevant flavor to it."
The album's release in September, which coincides with traditional harvest seasons, which was a source of inspiration for the record. "It's where nature starts to shut down. Fruits ripen, fields get mowed down, people and animals start to prepare for winter by storing stocks. It's a time of death. Leaves fall off the trees, hibernation is coming closer, the days get shorter and soon everything turns grey. It's almost magical to see how everything seemingly dies just to resurrect in spring to fulfill another whole spin. These are strong images that are closely related to our vision of death metal, nothing is as cruel and fascinating as nature, and the lyrics are based mainly - but not only - on nature topics."
On July 12th, the Spiritual Euphoria 7" will be released with the title track on the A-side and a vinyl-exclusive cover of Megadeth's "Symphony Of Destruction" on side B. The 7" is strictly limited to 333 copies: 222 black and 111 yellow. The latter version is exclusively available through the official Metal Blade Europe webshop here.
Since 2015, the name Endseeker has stood for the finest Swedish styled death metal from Hamburg, Germany. Hard as a fist and uncompromising like binge drinking on St. Pauli - but with a big chunk of heart and soul to it.

AURAS Streaming New Song "The Demoness"Canadian progressive metal act, Auras, are streaming the new track, "The Demoness". The song is the second released from their new LP, Binary Garden, due out next month.
“‘The Demoness’ is one of the heavier songs off of Binary Garden,’" says guitarist Josh Ligaya. “The lyrics were written with a fictional sci-fi approach where I talk about Mother Nature letting go of herself as a person would. She’s tired of being mistreated by people and decides to stop taking care of herself; along with everyone who lives with her (human beings). Her toxic lifestyle of metaphorical substance abuse eventually leads to destroying humanity as a result.”
Auras will release Binary Garden on July 12 via Entertainment One / Good Fight Music. The new release will be the follow up to Heliospectrum, the debut full-length offering from Auras. Heliospectrum was the inevitable culmination of years spent perfecting their sonic brew in basements, clubs, and rehearsals, honing a mix of unrelenting heaviness, complex riffs, and melodic ambiance.
Ottawa native Dean Hadjichristou (Parkway Drive, Protest The Hero, The Kindred) recorded Binary Garden, which was mixed by Jordan Valeriote (Silverstein, Counterparts, Structures). Nick Sampson (Of Mice & Men, We Came As Romans, Born Of Osiris) aided in preproduction as Auras endeavored to crystallize their ambitious ideas.
Binary Garden saw the band members challenging themselves like never before, from the writing stage through the production process. They shook off preconceived notions and embraced a more “clean” singing and simpler structure without sacrificing their signature sound. The end result features more atmospherics alongside a bigger “feel.”

STATUS QUO Release "Beginning Of The End" Video From Down Down & Dirty At WackenLast August, Status Quo release a pair of ‘twin’ live albums, Down Down & Dignified At The Royal Albert Hall and Down Down & Dirty At Wacken, via earMUSIC. You can now watch "Beginning Of The End" from the Down Down & Dirty At Wacken release.
On September 6, Status Quo will release Backbone through earMUSIC / Edel; the band’s 33rd studio album - the LP will be their 33rd 33rpm.
Some doubters said Backbone was a record that could not be made, but the 2019 lineup of Status Quo has been through a lot, they have chalked up 130 shows as a unit and travelled tens of thousands of miles. This is a group of musicians that is strong, that back each other up and are tighter than ever. Backbone features of a trio songs drawn from the classic partnership of Rossi / Young as well as contributions from all of the rest of the band.
The eleven track album was recorded at Francis' studio in the late months of 2018 and into this year. The sessions were initially just to keep the juices flowing, improvise and have fun. As the hours rolled on, songs stacked up, everyone began to believe that something special was happening. And so it proved. Even from within the group, there had been some resistance to creating a new record.
As Francis says, "This new material had to be seriously good. Quo have achieved so much and meant so much to too many people for the quality to slip now. Also, let’s face it, things have changed and we’re an easier target than ever.
"Losing Rick was hard to bear but, through Richie Malone, who was inspired to pick up a guitar by him, we can not only keep going but actually pick up the pace. The energy that he and Leon bring to Quo can’t be underestimated. I wasn’t sure I had another album in me but I couldn’t be more proud of ‘Backbone’. I hope the fans love it, but you can’t please everyone and I’m not going to start trying to now."
To have Backbone means to stand firm, to stand up for what you believe in. The title fits. The hundreds of songs recorded by Quo over half a century still resonate today, and the tracks on this album are a worthy addition to that incredible catalogue. A new Quo studio album is a cause for celebration, especially when it kicks like this one. And for the doubters? A Backbone is also a support, a unifying element that keeps things in shape. Underlying this new record are the core desires to keep creating, to be the best and to keep playing: these are the qualities that have kept Quo at the top for so long. Backbone will ensure that Francis Rossi and Quo keep standing proud. And, by naming the album Backbone, they’re ready for the 'Spinal Tap' headlines too!
Pre-order the album here.

ROXY BLUE Premiers "How Does It Feel" Music VideoMemphis, Tennessee hard rockers, Roxy Blue, have released a video for "How Does It Feel", a track from the band's upcoming self-titled release, their first album of new material in 27 years, out on August 9 via Frontiers Music Srl. Watch the clip below.
Original members Todd Poole (vocals), Josh Weil (bass), and Scotty Trammell (drums) are now joined by new guitarist Jeffrey Wade Caughron. (Original guitarist Sid "Boogie" Fletcher has left the music business for a successful career in dentistry.)
Roxy Blue's self-titled album is available for pre-order here. A limited amount of signed copies of the album available for pre-order here.
Todd Poole on what fans can expect from the new album: "Roxy Blue fans can expect an explosive new album! I think the new record is definitely a different sound than the 1992 version of Roxy Blue, but not unrecognizable. The new record is much heavier, but still has some cool ballads and hints of early ROXY in there. I feel that it's a well-balanced record."
He continues, "I have been writing songs for years for different projects I've been in, but when Frontiers called, I knew it was an opportunity to take a fresh approach to the Roxy Blue sound. The excitement of having a new record deal actually inspired me to write the songs for the upcoming record from scratch."
On the band's legacy, Poole says, "For Want Some to be recognized as one of the finest moments in the latter hard rock days is an honor. Especially being that there were so many good bands out at the time. We were just so proud to be a part of a great rock era."
Formed in Memphis in late 1989 by Poole, Fletcher, Weil, and Trammell, Roxy Blue started out playing original music from the get-go, with their sights set on putting their music in front of a national and then global audience. Knowing that their dreams were not going to come easy, the guys put their all into step one of their journey, which was to get started playing every gig they could get and opening for every band they could, to get themselves noticed in the local Memphis music scene. Crammed in together in a studio apartment above Cotton Row Studios, the guys were constantly writing and recording new songs and living a 24-hour rock 'n' roll lifestyle miles and miles away for the Sunset Strip of Los Angeles.
Quickly earning a name for themselves within the local Memphis music scene and selling out club shows, they soon created a buzz in the music industry. But it wasn't until one night while playing a local bar they were approached by Jani Lane, the vocalist of Warrant, that things really started to take off. Jani loved what he heard and wanted to help get Roxy Blue's career launched. Soon after, the labels started calling and eventually Geffen Records' legendary A&R guru Tom Zutaut flew the band to Los Angeles to sign them. The next step was to find the right producer to record the band's debut album. Mike Clink, who had produced Guns N' Roses milestone Appetite For Destruction and, at the time, was finishing up GN'R's Use Your Illusion, was ultimately chose for the job. Clink and Roxy Blue were a perfect match and the result was the 1992 release of Want Some.
And a fun fact for fans of the Frontiers label: Poole is the son-in-law of the late, great Jimi Jamison, whom Frontiers had a great, longstanding working relationship with.

IMAGIKA Feat. KILL RITUAL, KING DIAMOND Members Sign To Dissonance Productions; Only Dark Hearts Survive Album Out In SeptemberAfter 10 years Imagika is back. The most successful lineup of the band with guitarist Steven D. Rice (Kill Ritual), vocalist Norman Skinner (Skinner, Niviane, Hellscream), bassist Jim Pegram (Mudface, Angerhead) and guest drummer Matt Thompson (King Diamond) have recorded a blistering new album that is a modern take on where the band left off in 2009. Their new 8-track effort, mixed and mastered by Andy La Rocque at Sonic Train Studios, is a testament to the bands overlooked talent and is scheduled to be released on September 13 via Dissonance Productions.
The bands first ever video was shot in March with Mike Sloat (Testament, Machine Head,Lynyrd Skynyrd) for the track “The Spiteful One” at the infamous Sound Wave Studios in Oakland, CA. A lyric video for the title track “Only Dark Hearts Survive” will drop as the first introduction to the new album.
Imagika guitarist Steven D. Rice comments on the rebirth of the band: "While on the Kill Ritual tour (with Iced Earth and Sanctuary) we made a stop in Sacramento, CA. which is not far from the SF Bay Area and where all the past members live, so Jim and Norm made it out for the show. Jim played with Kill Ritual that night (as he did on the European tour the year before) and Norm caught the performance. I hadn’t seen Norm in years so we drank a few (ok a lot!), bullshitted, caught up on life and had a nice reconnect. Fast forward a few months later. As I was writing the new Kill Ritual record I would have material hanging around that didn’t quite fit the KR style or direction and that with some older ideas from the past I said to myself 'Wow this really has an Imagika direction to the material', so I ran a couple ideas past Norm and he gave it his spin and before we knew it we had an album composed and ready to go. After bringing in Jim, who’s been pushing for this for years in on bass along with a guest appearance by Matt Thompson (King Diamond) to play drums it sounded great. I’m a firm believer in always moving forward and never looking back, but I’ll have to eat my words on the “Never Again” and just say it was meant to be! The new songs are definitely Imagika in 2019 with tight riffs, concise arrangements; hook laden vocals and great grooves! I think our old and hopefully new fans will absolutely love this CD. We can’t wait for you all to hear it!"
Tracklisting:
“Where Our Demons Dwell”
“Cast Into Damnation”
“Prisoners Of Fate”
“Suffocate On Hate”
“The Spiteful One”
“The Faceless Rise”
“Firefight”
“Only Dark Hearts Survive”

Video Premiere: MOTIONLESS IN WHITE's 'Brand New Numb'MOTIONLESS IN WHITE has shared the Max Moore-directed music video for "Brand New Numb", which is featured on the band's new album, "Disguise".
"Disguise" was released on June 7 via Roadrunner Records. Recorded with producer Drew Fulk (a.k.a. WZRD BLD) in Los Angeles, California, the LP follows MOTIONLESS IN WHITE's chart-topping Roadrunner debut, "Graveyard Shift".
MOTIONLESS IN WHITE recently completed "The 2019 Spring Invasion Tour", a co-headline run alongside ATREYU featuring support from special guests WILSON. Later this summer, MOTIONLESS IN WHITE will head back out on the road with ALICE COOPER and HALESTORM for a North American tour set to kick off July 17 at Allentown, Pennsylvania's PPL Center.
Since 2006, MOTIONLESS IN WHITE has won over audiences around the globe with its aggressive music and arresting imagery, rapidly rising to the upper echelon of modern rock. Albums such as 2010's "Creatures" and 2012's "Infamous" would galvanize a rabid fan base around the band — currently comprised of lead singer Chris Motionless, guitarists Ryan Sitkowski and Ricky Horror, drummer Vinny Mauro, and bassist Justin Morrow. MOTIONLESS IN WHITE's 2014 LP, "Reincarnate", reached new heights, bowing at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 chart and claiming No. 1 on Billboard's Hard Rock Albums chart. 2017's "Graveyard Shift" arrived to critical acclaim, once again topping Billboard's Hard Rock Albums chart led by the Top 20 Active Rock hit "LOUD (F*ck It)" , as well as the thunderous singles "Eternally Yours" and "Necessary Evil".

CROSSING RUBICON Feat. Ex-ALL THAT REMAINS Bassist JEANNE SAGAN: 'Seeing Red' VideoCROSSING RUBICON, which features former ALL THAT REMAINS bassist Jeanne Sagan, will release its new album, "Seeing Red", on July 19. The official music video for the disc's title track can be seen below. The clip was filmed in partnership with the forthcoming documentary about famed ECW wrestling star Justin Credible that will also feature the track.
Says lead vocalist Scotty Anarchy (a.k.a. Scott Wawrzyniak): "Justin Credible and I have been friends for a long time. When RUBICON wrote 'Seeing Red', it was a very personal song dealing with some of my own life situations. Credible and I got reacquainted after a brief falling out when he was going through the biggest challenge of his life, and this song went from being my story to his.
"Music and wrestling are both an art form that tells a story that everyone in the audience can relate to, and wrestling is the perfect metaphor for this song. Two friends against the world with everything to gain, and everything to lose, having to prove something to themselves and then fuck up the naysayers and critics."
CROSSING RUBICON began as a two-man project involving Anarchy and Pete Ahern (RED CHINA BLUE). After numerous member changes, the band had continued success by playing shows with the likes of IN THIS MOMENT, NONPOINT, POP EVIL, REV THEORY, MÖTLEY CRÜE, Bret Michaels and TANTRIC.
CROSSING RUBICON's music is often described as a throwback to metal of the '80s and early '90s — think of bands such as QUEENSRŸCHE, ALICE IN CHAINS, METALLICA, JUDAS PRIEST and IRON MAIDEN — while having a modern rock sound.

DEF LEPPARD's VIVIAN CAMPBELL Says A Lot Of Younger Bands Are Lacking 'Balls'During a brand new interview with Graspop Metal Meeting, DEF LEPPARD guitarist Vivian Campbell spoke about what is lacking in the current music scene, particularly with younger groups who are just starting out.
"You've gotta find the right balance between being good at your craft and still having the right attitude," he said (see video below).
"When I hear a lot of bands — not necessarily rock bands, but all sorts of different genres; bands who come out in this day and age — a lot of 'em, what is missing… I mean, they have talent, they can write songs, they can sing, they can play, but they don't have balls. And you listen to something back from the '90s or the '80s or '70s, there was something earthy about it, there was an intent you had to have," he explained.
"Phil [Collen, fellow DEF LEPPARD guitarist] is 61. I'm not far behind. We're all at a certain level and we've gotten really good at our craft, but we still go out there and we play it with a real fucking rock attitude."
DEF LEPPARD has a handful of European shows left between now and early July before the launch of the band's Canadian tour.
In late August, DEF LEPPARD will stage its second Las Vegas residency. The band will take over Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino for 12 nights between August 14 and September 7.
The British rockers played their first Las Vegas residency six years ago at the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel. 26

BLACK SABBATH Exhibition Opens In Birmingham (Video)A major exhibition dedicated to BLACK SABBATH and the band's legacy has just opened at the Birmingham Museum And Art Gallery in Birmingham, England.
The "Home Of Metal: Black Sabbath At 50" exhibition, which will run to September 29, celebrates BLACK SABBATH from the perspective of the group's fans and includes key costumes loaned by the bandmembers themselves, including an outfit worn by bassist Geezer Butler at a concert at Birmingham's Town Hall and featured in the gatefold of the 1972 "Vol 4" album; singer Ozzy Osborne's glasses; guitarist Tony Iommi's home studio and a part of Bill Ward's drum kit used in the 1974 Cal Jam, in which BLACK SABBATH performed in front of 250,000 people.
"Home Of Metal: Black Sabbath At 50" also includes some of the biggest tributes from SABBATH's fans, including the recreation of a superfan's living room, after he transformed it into a shrine to the band.
Stephen Knowles, who owns over a thousand SABBATH t-shirts and has travelled the globe to see the band, told BBC News that his collection cost him "tens of thousands of pounds."
A video report from ITV News on the exhibition can be seen below.

BETRAYING THE MARTYRS To Release Rapture Album In September; Music Video For "Parasite" Single StreamingFrench deathcore heavyweights, Betraying The Martyrs, recently teased the upcoming release of their fourth full-length studio album, Rapture, preparing fans for what they describe as their "ultimate" album. Today, the band has revealed more new album details, plus a new music video for the single "Parasite" in anticipation of the album's release via Sumerian Records on September 13.
"Parasite" is a barrage of punishing riffs and crushing grooves, and a true depiction of what's to come on their next full-length release. Check out the stunning video, directed by Igor Omodei, below.
Vocalist Aaron Matts comments on the single and video: "The song is a subject that I've wanted to touch on for quite some time now. It speaks of an internal battle of the minds between myself and that evil self that I'm sure we all have and know all too well. The story speaks of the innocent untainted self that ultimately trumps and returns to defeat this metaphorical parasite of depression and anxiety. The song is more of a celebration of overcoming a dark period in my life, but can be seen from more than one perspective. We're in love with the music video - Igor did a fantastic job as he always does, and we absolutely cannot wait for people to see what we've been working so hard on!"
"Parasite" follows the single "Eternal Machine", which is currently approaching 200k views on YouTube. Both tracks will appear on Rapture. Check out "Eternal Machine" below.
Pre-orders for Rapture are available here. Merch bundles are available here.
Rapture promises to deliver many more neck-breaking metal tracks packed with huge hooks and melodies. The sextet set out to create their most impressive release yet and have exceeded all expectations with Rapture. Tracks like "Incarcerated" depict how deep the band is willing to go down the personal rabbit hole lyrically, while songs like "Rapture" and "Imagine" showcase the true span of the band's musical spectrum - proving that any metal fan can find something to love on Rapture.
Aaron comments on Rapture: "Rapture for us is a product of each one of our experiences up until this moment; each moment lived on the road, and every drop of inspiration picked up along the way. Written musically in the only way we know how, we took each one of our musical tastes and formed it into the ultimate album for ourselves, hoping that it will translate and fall onto the ears of the listeners the same way it falls onto ours. Rapture is a musical journey through each one of our minds, lyrics that come from both the darkest and lightest corners of our souls. We put everything into this one, leaving behind any preconceptions, and what came out the other side is something that we're all so proud of, and we hope that the listener will feel it within themselves also."
Rapture was produced by Betraying The Martyrs, with individual instrument and recording duties carried out by Tomás Raclavský at Babylon Studio in Jenikov, Czech Republic, Lucas d'Angelo at Dangelosound Studio in Paris, France, and Justin Paul Hill at Whitehouse Studios in Reading, United Kingdom. Rapture was mixed and mastered by Henrik Udd at Henrik Udd Studio in Sweden.

BATUSHKA Premier "Liturgiya" Music VideoEmerging from the shadows of eastern Poland back in 2015, black metal band Batushka have established themselves as one of the modern era's most powerful and evocative bands. Harnessing the fire and fury of arcane black metal and channeling it through the reverberant grandeur of ancient rituals of worship, the band's debut album Litourgiya stood apart from the extreme metal hordes: a monument to originality, depth and dark mysticism that swiftly cast its spell over the metal underground and beyond.
The band will release its sophomore album Hospodi through Metal Blade Records on July 12. A video for the song "Liturgiya" can be found below.
Named after an Old Church Slavonic word for "God," Hospodi enhances all the unique qualities that made the band such an instant phenomenon, while offering an entirely distinct and fresh sensory experience. The album boasts the most ferocious and bewitching songs the band has penned to date - along with a newfound sense of rock swagger.
"The whole album is a concept based on the Liturgy Of Death, the prayers for the dead, and Orthodox funeral rites and dirges," said the band. "It's all about a ritual that involves the dead and the mourners. We also used a lot of old folk songs and elegies from our homeland. These are sung during the wake, around the casket, in the deceased person's home. Nowadays only a few older people know them and still sing them accordingly in our region. We decided to cherish that tradition and I'm glad that with our album these songs and rites will survive."
Find pre-order options here.
Hospodi will be available in several configurations, listed below:

CEREMONY To Release In The Spirit World Now Album In August; "Turn Away The Bad Thing" Music Video PostedCeremony's lead guitarist, Anthony Anzaldo, doesn't want to talk about the fact that his band has been around for over ten years. Or that they've drifted away from the hardcore genre that made them, or that they jumped ship from their long-time label, Matador Records, to join Relapse Records instead. Or that their sixth album will mark four years since the iconic punk band has released any new material. These things aren't really important. What matters is that In The Spirit World Now is Ceremony's most visceral and hard-hitting record yet.
"We knew this had to be the best thing we have ever done. We couldn't come back after four years with a record that only had a few good songs... Not reflecting on the evolution of the band is what keeps us motivated. There is always a song we haven't written, a band we haven't played with, artwork we haven't thought of. We are creators by nature, not by choice," Anzaldo admits.
Produced by Will Yip (Title Fight, Circa Survive, Turnover) and mixed by engineer Ben Greenberg (The Men, Pharmakon, Hank Wood And The Hammerheads), In The Spirit World Now grows with each listen, balancing Yip's pop sensibilities with Greenberg's noise-punk influence through dramatic, shining synthesizer hooks and a mature vocal strategy. Drummer Jake Casarotti and bassist Justin Davis power through the 11-tracks as a strong yet sparse backbone that interlocks with guitarists Andy Nelson and Anzaldo to create a pop-centric, post-punk canvas for frontman Ross Farrar to expel the most vulnerable parts of himself.
Farrar, who has been studying and teaching at the Syracuse University MFA Poetry Program for the past three years, has found himself as a vocalist on Spirit World, not only sounding more confident and in the pocket than he ever has before, but exploring amorphous lyrical territory about arrested development, botched relationships, and the never-ending hamster wheel of self-destruction so many creatives fall into.
"I've been very interested in will, as in a person's faculty of consciousness and how we navigate actions and self-control," Farrar says. "I've been worried for a long time that my lack of self-control will inevitably destroy me, so any paranoia on that matter is focused on this record."
Spirit World is a carefully composed punk record by a band who is so in tune with one another as players that their physical separation didn't affect the music when it came time to get together and work. Despite living in opposite ends of the country, they met up, rehearsed the new material, and demoed it out in Anaheim at a friend's studio. After two weeks, the tracks were loose with Farrar only mumbling melody ideas on top of the band. A few months later, they linked up with producer Will Yip and he flushed out the demos, helping develop the structure as the songs took shape in the studio. To add some grit to their slew of polished post-punk hits, Anzaldo called on Greenberg to help develop melodies and interject synthesizers and keyboards into the songs before he mixed the record.
In The Spirit World Now sees Ceremony at the height of their creative output, as the always-evolving Rohnert Park quintet take various influences from post punk and rock to create one of the summer's most compelling and infectious records. It's out August 23 via Relapse. Pre-order the album here. A video for "Turn Away The Bad Thing" can be found below. The single is available on all streaming services now.

GEEZER BUTLER On DEADLAND RITUAL: 'We're Just Four Blokes Having Fun'DEADLAND RITUAL members Geezer Butler (bass; BLACK SABBATH) and Matt Sorum (drums; GUNS N' ROSES, VELVET REVOLVER) were interviewed by Paul Anthony of Planet Rock at this past weekend's Download festival at Donington Park in Leicestershire, England. You can now watch the chat below.
Speaking about the "supergroup" tag that has been attached to DEADLAND RITUAL — which also features guitarist Steve Stevens (BILLY IDOL, VINCE NEIL) and singer Franky Perez (APOCALYPTICA) — Butler said: "We don't class ourselves as a supergroup, 'cause… I don't know. It's a bit of a vacant term for me. We're just four blokes getting together, having fun at the moment and writing some good stuff. But so far, because Steve has been still on tour with Billy Idol, we've been having to write stuff in between these tours with Billy Idol at the moment. So we'll have more time to get everything together when his tour is finished."
DEADLAND RITUAL's setlist consists of several original tracks alongside classic songs from the members' previous bands, including BLACK SABBATH's "Symptom Of The Universe", "Neon Knights" and "Sweet Leaf", VELVET REVOLVER's "Slither" and BILLY IDOL's "Rebel Yell".
DEADLAND RITUAL recently released its first two songs, "Down In Flames" and "Broken And Bruised". Both tracks, which were produced by Greg Fidelman (METALLICA, SLIPKNOT), were made available via Sonik Riot Records/AWAL powered by Kobalt.
"We're basically an independent band right now — no record deal yet, but there's some labels talking to us," Sorum said. "It's great we're out playing these new songs, 'cause once we go in and record them, they'll be live-tested, if you will, and then hopefully will go down on record as a really cool version of what we've been doing live."
DEADLAND RITUAL made its live debut on May 28 at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, California. 4
