DEADLAND RITUAL Feat. GEEZER BUTLER, MATT SORUM, STEVE STEVENS: Video Of AZKENA ROCK FESTIVAL ConcertFan-filmed video footage of DEADLAND RITUAL's June 21 performance at the Azkena Rock Festival in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain can be seen below.
DEADLAND RITUAL is the new band featuring bassist Geezer Butler (BLACK SABBATH), guitarist Steve Stevens (BILLY IDOL, VINCE NEIL), drummer Matt Sorum (GUNS N' ROSES, VELVET REVOLVER) and singer Franky Perez (APOCALYPTICA).
DEADLAND RITUAL's setlist consists of several original tracks alongside classic songs from the members' previous bands, including BLACK SABBATH's "Symptom Of The Universe", "Neon Knights" and "Sweet Leaf", VELVET REVOLVER's "Slither" and BILLY IDOL's "Rebel Yell".
Speaking about the "supergroup" tag that has been attached to DEADLAND RITUAL, Butler said: "We don't class ourselves as a supergroup, 'cause… I don't know. It's a bit of a vacant term for me. We're just four blokes getting together, having fun at the moment and writing some good stuff. But so far, because Steve has been still on tour with Billy Idol, we've been having to write stuff in between these tours with Billy Idol at the moment. So we'll have more time to get everything together when his tour is finished."
DEADLAND RITUAL recently released its first two songs, "Down In Flames" and "Broken And Bruised". Both tracks, which were produced by Greg Fidelman (METALLICA, SLIPKNOT), were made available via Sonik Riot Records/AWAL powered by Kobalt.
"We're basically an independent band right now — no record deal yet, but there's some labels talking to us," Sorum said. "It's great we're out playing these new songs, 'cause once we go in and record them, they'll be live-tested, if you will, and then hopefully will go down on record as a really cool version of what we've been doing live."
Butler went on to say that there is no long-term plan for DEADLAND RITUAL at the moment. "We're just going to see how it goes," he said. "We've written seven songs up to now, so we have to get those recorded. We've got quite a few record companies interested. But at first, it was 'have a jam, and let's do some festivals.' But it seems to have gone beyond that, people are taking it more seriously now. So if things work out with the gigs that we do we'll carry on. I'm excited about it. I really like the music we're doing, not restricted to any kind of formula. And as I say, each track stands on its own, different in its own way. I'm really looking forward looking to it."
DEADLAND RITUAL made its live debut on May 28 at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, California.

LARS ULRICH Says METALLICA Hasn't Had A 'Real Break' In Almost 15 YearsMETALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich spoke to The Sun about the band's decision to take a long break following the completion of its tour in support of the controversial "St. Anger" album. The LP was released in June 2003 at the end of a turbulent two-year period in which bassist Jason Newsted left the group, frontman James Hetfield went for a lengthy stay in rehab, and the entire band threatened to break apart.
"You can't keep people guessing forever and, if you try to, you look silly so trying to maintain a mystique went out of the door for us a while ago," Lars said.
"For us it's all about inviting people in and making ourselves as accessible as possible to fans. That period certainly wasn't easy for us and, since then, we have learned boundaries and where our breaking points are.
"That was the last time we had a real break — we haven't shut down the band in 14 years, but we disappeared then for about a year.
"And then THE ROLLING STONES called us up [in 2005] and said, 'Come and play some shows with us in California,' and we sort of agreed, you're not going to say no to THE STONES, so that was it. It gave us the way to start it back up again.
"Whether you're a team in an office or a bunch of dudes in a rock and roll band, at some point people have to figure out how to get along and work as a team. If you don't care, it's easier to walk away, but fortunately we cared enough about METALLICA on behalf of ourselves and the fans to figure out a way to make it function. I'm happy that we did."
"St. Anger"'s raw, lo-fi production, lack of guitar solos and unorthodox sound were not well-received by many of the group's fans, who still often cite it as METALLICA's worst record. "St. Anger" has nevertheless sold more than six million copies worldwide, although fans have generally not warmed up to it in the 16 years since its release.
METALLICA is continuing to tour in support of its latest album, "Hardwired… To Self-Destruct", which came out in November 2016.
The"WorldWired" trek has played more than 130 shows across the world since its 2016 kick-off and could last through early 2020. 88

FILTER: Expanded 20th-Anniversary Edition Of 'Title Of Record' Due In AugustA 20th-anniversary edition of FILTER's platinum-selling sophomore album, "Title Of Record", will be made available on August 9 via Craft Recordings. This expanded set includes four bonus tracks: "(Can't You) Trip Like I Do" (originally recorded for the cult-classic soundtrack "Spawn The Album"), "Jurassitol" (previously released on "The Crow: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack"), plus remixes of the singles "The Best Things (Humble Brothers Remix)" and "Take A Picture (H&H Remix)". It also features new liner notes by author, journalist and "Side Jams" podcast host Bryan Reesman.
Upon its initial release in 1999, "Title Of Record" was a commercial victory, peaking at the No. 30 spot on the Billboard 200. The album also won wide critical acclaim — Entertainment Weekly declared that FILTER's "attention to melody and craft is refreshing"” while Rolling Stone praised frontman Richard Patrick as "the most expressive and daring of the new industrial rockers, the most willing to expose the vulnerability that lurks behind the jackboots and black leather trench coat."
"Title Of Record" expanded 20th-anniversary edition track listing:
01. Sand
02. Welcome To The Fold
03. Captain Bligh
04. It's Gonna Kill Me
05. The Best Things
06. Take A Picture
07. Skinny
08. I Will Lead You
09. Cancer
10. I'm Not The Only One

14. Take A Picture (H&H Remix)
15. The Best Things (Humble Brothers Remix)
Last year, Patrick enlisted fellow original member Brian Liesegang to make a new FILTER album together.
Richard has successfully led and spearheaded FILTER for the last 20 years, releasing many platinum records, including "Title of Record" and "The Almagamut".
FILTER's most recent LP, "Crazy Eyes", came out in April 2016 via Wind-Up Records. 1

VLTIMAS Feat. Former MORBID ANGEL Frontman DAVID VINCENT: Video Of London ConcertVLTIMAS, the extreme metal formation featuring David Vincent (ex-MORBID ANGEL), Rune "Blasphemer" Eriksen (ex-MAYHEM, AURA NOIR) and Flo Monier (CRYPTOPSY), performed on June 21 at the Underworld in London, England. Fan-filmed video footage of the concert can be seen below.
VLTIMAS's debut album, "Something Wicked Marches In", was released on March 29 via Season Of Mist.
The cover for "Something Wicked Marches In" was created by renowned Polish artist Zbigniew M. Bielak (GHOST, PARADISE LOST, BÖLZER, ZHRINE).
The foundation for VLTIMAS was laid when Rune, after collecting a handful of riffs, presented Mounier with the idea of forming a band together. For the two musicians, having composed and recorded numerous songs together in the past, the musical chemistry was already tried and tested. However, one thing was still missing. This extraordinary musical project needed an extraordinary voice and Eriksen got in touch with Vincent, with whom he had been in contact for years, to finalize the lineup.
Vincent had just exited MORBID ANGEL and was ready for a new chapter in his long spanning career. Everything fell into place, and VLTIMAS came into being.
During The Noiz Faktory sessions (Georgetown, USA), the musicians started writing a substantial amount of music. The sessions proved to be a fruitful endeavor and the first ideas and song skeletons were later fleshed out by Rune at his home studio in Portugal, then finalized when Mounier and Eriksen returned to Texas, in order to put the final touches to the material at David's home studio. In a more controlled surrounding the songs started to unveil themselves and the studio was booked.
The band entered Orgone Studios in Woburn, England in May 2018 with producer Jaime Gomez Arellano. While there, the three-piece recorded nine crushing tracks that will appear on the full-length debut album.
The new record offers a vast array of influences, but most notably the distinguished symbioses of these three respected and talented musicians. A dark and sinister ambiance meets a majestic and a commanding death metal energy.
Vincent is also involved with I AM MORBID alongside fellow former MORBID ANGEL member Tim Yeung (drums), plus guitarists Bill Hudson (CIRCLE II CIRCLE, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA) and Kelly McLauchlin.
Formed in 2016, I AM MORBID plays material from MORBID ANGEL's "Altars Of Madness" (1989), "Blessed Are The Sick" (1991), "Covenant" (1993) and "Domination" (1995) albums.
Vincent left MORBID ANGEL for the second time in 2015. 1

Video: STEVEN ADLER's ADLER'S APPETITE Performs In HoustonFan-filmed video footage of ADLER'S APPETITE's June 20 performance at Warehouse Live in Houston, Texas can be seen below (courtesy of YouTube user "txsurfer4u").
ADLER'S APPETITE's current lineup includes former GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler alongside Ariel Kamin, the singer of Argentinian GN'R tribute band SON OF A GUN, plus guitarists Michael Thomas and Alistair James, and bassist Tanya O Callaghan.
Kamin replaced Constantine Maroulis of "American Idol" and "Rock Of Ages" fame, who was the vocalist for ADLER'S APPETITE for a dozen or so dates in May 2018, including an Australian tour.
Steven previously played with Ariel when the drummer joined SON OF GUN on stage in November 2016 in Buenos Aires, Argentina to perform several GN'R classics, including "You Could Be Mine" and "Welcome To The Jungle".
Although he wasn't included in the lineup that launched the "Not In This Lifetime" trek in 2016, Adler rejoined GUNS N' ROSES at several shows on the tour, including three stops on the U.S. leg and one gig in Buenos Aires, Argentina, playing drums on "Out Ta Get Me" and "My Michelle".
In February 2017, Adler revealed to podcaster Mitch Lafon that he was originally supposed to appear at more than just a handful of shows on the GUNS N' ROSES reunion trek. He claimed that he expected to play all the "Appetite For Destruction" material during the entire tour, only to be told he was out after he hurt his back during rehearsals.
Speculation was rampant that Adler would participate in at least a portion of the reunion tour ever since GUNS made it official in January 2016. The regular GUNS drummer for several years has been Frank Ferrer, who is also part of the current lineup.

FREEDOM CALL Release "111" Single And Music Video; M.E.T.A.L. Album Details RevealedGerman melodic metal band, Freedom Call, have released a new single and video, for the song "111". The song is taken from the forthcoming studio album, M.E.T.A.L..
Chris Bay says: "The title of the first single release ‘111’ (with the “perceived” subtitle ‘The Number Of The Angels’) is also programmatic for the album. 111 is the number of angels in Western esotericism, and it also plays an important role in my life. I come across it constantly, be it the number of my hotel room, a receipt at the supermarket or even my birth date. I’m obviously a ‘one’ person which also means that I’m a ‘light person’.”

Former NAZARETH Singer DAN MCCAFFERTY To Release 'Last Testament' Solo AlbumThere are very few classic rock vocalists that you recognize after hearing just a few notes. The legendary Dan McCafferty, the former front man of Scottish rockers NAZARETH, is one of those vocalists.
After nearly 50 years of road work with the band, McCafferty had to retire due to health reasons. However, that unique instrument — his voice — is still capable of blowing the roof off.
With 15 tracks, "Last Testament" is a blistering album with a full mix of lyrical and musical styles. It arrives on October 18 via earMUSIC. There are out-and-out rockers, like "My Baby" and "Bring It On Back", for example. But at the core of this release is a newfound freedom to explore avenues of creativity.
There are songs of reflection, like "You And Me", "Looking Back" and the very emotional first single "Tell Me", plus "Sunshine", which features a guest vocal by NAZARETH bandmate Pete Agnew, which are tender love songs.
McCafferty teamed up with Czech composer, accordion, and keyboard maestro Karel Marik, who is the author of all music and the producer of album, while McCafferty has written all the lyrics.
Recorded and mixed at Substation Studio in Rosyth, Scotland by sound engineer Duncan Aitken and mastered by Eike Freese at Chameleon Studios in Hamburg, "Last Testament" is a unique outstanding album which will surprise, challenge, and delight his countless fans throughout the world.
"Last Testament" track listing:
01. You And Me (Electric)
02. Why
03. Looking Back
04. Tell Me (Single)
05. I Can't Find The One For Me

CLUTCH Performs 'Evil' At U.K.'s DOWNLOAD Festival: Pro-Shot VideoMaryland rockers CLUTCH played their cover version of the Willie Dixon 1950s classic "Evil" (later recorded by CACTUS) at this year's edition of the Download festival, which was held last weekend at Donington Park in Leicestershire, England. Professionally filmed video footage of the performance can be seen below.
CLUTCH's studio version of "Evil", which was mixed by Vance Powell, will be included on a collection of newly recorded songs, "Weathermaker Vault Series", to be released this summer.
Drummer Jean-Paul Gaster told Cory Blose of TotalRock Radio's "The Valley" about "Weathermaker Vault Series": "We got into the studio early this year. After we finished another U.S. tour, we jumped in the studio and we recorded a selection of songs. I wouldn't go so far as to call it a full album. But the idea is just to release a few things throughout the rest of the year. And these will be completely just digital releases as well. We're sort of experimenting with that format — just releasing stuff for streaming purposes. And we'll see how that goes."
He continued: "It was fun to get in the studio, and we picked some songs that sort of all meant something to us in different ways. We also re-recorded a few CLUTCH classic songs, so those will be coming out as well. I suppose maybe in some ways it's sort of just a way to tide us over until we really get the juices flowing to record another album."
Gaster said that CLUTCH's insistence on recording and releasing new music comes from a pure place.
"As we all know, there's not a tremendous amount of money to be made in releasing albums anymore, so you have to do it because you wanna do it," he said. "And also too, it just gives us an opportunity to play some new stuff when we get out there on the road and play shows. We do not wanna be a band that gets up there and just plays the hits and that would be the end of it. This is not a nostalgia thing for us. For us, this is still very much a live working rock band. We have the desire to be creative and to play music, so we try to foster that in whatever way we can."
He added: "I can say a scenario where we'll release this collection of singles and maybe a few more, and then eventually we might put these all on a vinyl record and put them out.
CLUTCH's latest album, "Book Of Bad Decisions", was released last September. The record sold 26,000 copies in America during its first week of availability, giving the group its third consecutive Top 20 album on the Billboard 200.
"Book Of Bad Decisions" was recorded was completed at Sputnik Sound studio in Nashville, Tennessee with producer Vance Powell. 1

HELHORSE Return With Hydra Album; "Overboard" Music Video StreamingWhen gnarly punk, pure metal and the swagger of hard rock meet, it can only mean one thing: the unholy rebirth of Helhorse. The Danes love to rock out with riffs heavier than Godzilla's balls. Be part of one of the loudest, dirtiest and also most melodic riff fests of the year.
Helhorse have just released a first single and announced the first details of their brand new record, Hydra, due out August 23 on Rodeostar Records, distributed by Napalm Records. Pre-order on LP, CD and digital formats via Napalm Records, all outlets.
A video for the first single, “Overboard”, can be found below.
Helhorse on the single: “'Overboard' was an easy choice as first single. It has a great opening riff that will hit the listener straight in the neck and the chorus is greater than ever. For sure live this one will become a Helhorse classic and we are super excited about unleashing it onto the world.”
Helhorse are no strangers on the international scene sharing stages with acts such as AC/DC, Rammstein, and Slayer, while touring Europe with Karma To Burn and Phil Campbell to name a few.
The new album Hydra is set to elevate this excellent four-piece even further into the minds and hearts of heavy metal fans all over the world. Hydra has everything you need as a fan of heavy music. Riffs are ripping, the choruses are bigger than Trump’s ego, and the energy is authentic as it is infectious. The lyrical theme of the album is focused on seizing the day, and not to letting triviality drag you down.
Or in Mikkel Wads words: “The perpetual rage feeds desire - that sums up pretty well how I felt writing the lyrics for this album. I have channeled my restlessness, my anger and my disdain for triviality and overall bullshit."
Hydra was mixed and mastered by Tue Madsen (Gojira, Messhugah). Staying clear of the modern music worlds compressed and very undynamic master, Hydra aims at giving you that crisp you’ve been missing, and showcasing that quality of spending time on refining the smaller details, to give you a spacious Sound.

SONATA ARCTICA Release New Single / Lyric Video "A Little Less Understanding"; Cover Artwork For New Album UnveiledOn September 6th, Finnish melodic metal titans Sonata Arctica will release their tenth studio album, Talviyö« (which means Winter Night), featuring eleven new tracks.
"We were talking about having an album cover made from a photo and luckily managed to find this award winning photographer Onni Wiljami, who actually hails from a village not too far from our hometown, and his pictures were just perfect for this album", explains keyboardist Henrik "Henkka" Klingenberg.
"The idea was to create an album that is musically in line with at least the previous two albums", says vocalist Tony Kakko and adds: "I am very happy with the songs and the general mood of the album. Some career highlights there, I feel."
"We recorded a bunch of kick ass songs and tried some new stuff as well. I'm really proud of how we managed to record the band sounding more live, playing together instead of just tracking everything one by one", states Klingenberg.
Today, Sonata Arctica release their first single called "A Little Less Understanding", along with a lyric video found below.
"The song is lyrically somewhat a follow up for 'I Have A Right' and talks about the difficulty of making the right choices with the upbringing of a new human being," explains Tony Kakko.
Sonata Arctica will support Kamelot this fall in North America on the next leg of The Shadow Tour.

ABBATH Merch Bundles Up For Grabs In Corpse Paint Contest; VideoNorwegian black metal titans, Abbath, have a contest announcement:

Abbath's new album, Outstrider, will be available via Season Of Mist on July 5. Pre-order the album here.
When Abbath announced that he had left Immortal, it sent massive shockwaves through the metal scene. The iconic frontman had long become the "face" of the Norwegian black scene, his image synonymous with the genre. Upon releasing his debut album with his eponymous new band, Abbath, in 2016, trve fans were satiated with a dose of icy, blackened fury.
Now, the Norwegian giant returns for round two, armed with a refined lineup and ready to strike with a sophomore effort that is sure to once again exceed the expectations of Abbath’s loyal fanbase. Outstrider sees a maturation in sound, delivering a tighter, well-rounded offering from the band as they come into their own identity.
While there are moments that certainly channel the frosty hallmarks of Immortal, there is no danger of Abbath repeating that formula. Abbath draws from NWOBM and melodic influences, adding a fresh new flavor to the sound that the band’s founder came to define.
Oustrider consists of eight, crushing original songs and concludes with a fiery Bathory cover. The album promises a full-on aural assault from start to finish with frigid riffage and a robust pocket that are layered with vocals from one of the most identifiable voices in black metal. If you thought Abbath came in hot with their last record, just wait until you hear this!
The cover artwork for Outstrider was created by Kim Holm and Olav Iversen.
Tracklisting:
"Calm In Ire (Of Hurricane)"
"Bridge Of Spasms"

Watch DISTURBED Perform In WarsawFan-filmed video footage of DISTURBED's June 20 concert in Warsaw, Poland can be seen below.
DISTURBED is currently in the midst of an international tour, though they did recently come home for show-stealing performances in Columbus (Sonic Temple Art & Music Fest) and Oklahoma (Rocklahoma). Upcoming dates include shows in Israel, Greece and Hungary.
DISTURBED's second North American leg of the "Evolution" tour begins on July 21 in Mankato, Minnesota, winding through the next three months before coming to a close on October 11 in St. Louis. Select shows on the tour will feature either POP EVIL or IN THIS MOMENT as special guests.
DISTURBED released its seventh studio album, "Evolution", in October.
Frontman David Draiman recently revealed that DISTURBED will no longer tour at the frequency he and his bandmates were known for in the past. Speaking about the group's "Evolution" trek, which kicked off in January, the singer told KROCK: "One thing I will caution everyone on is because we're doing this tour the way that we are, because we're doing arenas on our own, because we're doing the two-hour-long set, because we're targeting things the way that we are, it's not gonna be as frequent as DISTURBED used to be. So when it does happen, come, 'cause it may not be a year or two or three till we see you. So, come on out — be a part of it. Let's make it a night to remember."
He continued: "The days of just the machine rolling and rolling and rolling are just past where we're at as people, as individuals. We're all family men now, and there's a yin and yang. And not only that — but it'll end up being healthier for everybody. I think that instead of people's expectation that we're coming around more often, if they view that we're not coming around as often, then each time we do, it really becomes a celebration, it really becomes an event for everyone — like a big family reunion. So I think it'll end up working out for the best."

THE DAMNED THINGS Feat. ANTHRAX, EVERY TIME I DIE, FALL OUT BOY Members: 'Something Good' Animated VideoAn animated video for the song "Something Good" from THE DAMNED THINGS can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's second album, "High Crimes", which was released on April 26 via Nuclear Blast.
The supergroup comprised of members of EVERY TIME I DIE, ANTHRAX and FALL OUT BOY recently confirmed the addition of ALKALINE TRIO bassist Dan Andriano to its ranks. He replaces Josh Newton (EVERY TIME I DIE), who hasn't been part of the band since it was reactivated three years ago. Also gone from THE DAMNED THINGS is guitarist Rob Caggiano (VOLBEAT, ANTHRAX).
"Normally, when career bands say they made a record for fun, they didn't — but we actually did. Maybe that's why this band doesn't have a career?" said THE DAMNED THINGS' Joe Trohman. "Anyway, we're genuinely proud of it."
"High Crimes" was produced by Jay Ruston (ANTHRAX, STONE SOUR, AMON AMARTH) and is the follow-up to 2010's "Ironiclast".
"High Crimes" track listing:
01. Cells
02. Something Good
03. Invincible
04. Omen
05. Carry A Brick
06. Storm Catcher
07. Young Hearts
08. Keep Crawling
09. Let Me Be (Your Girl)
10. The Fire Is Cold
Trohman — who also plays in FALL OUT BOY — told Kerrang! magazine that the band was originally planning to release a new EP "but then it got to the point where we just made a whole record. The more we put into it, the more we were, like, 'Okay, let's just do this,'" he said. "I hate using the terms 'organically,' because it's a pretty shitty buzzword, but it happened organically. [Laughs]"
Trohman also spoke about some of the individual tracks on "High Crimes", saying: "I originally wanted to open the record with this song called 'Storm Charmer' because it was really slow and ominous, which is probably a bad idea. [Laughs] I think I love 'Cells' — that is one of my favorite songs on the record. 'Cells', 'Omen' and 'Carry A Brick' are some of my favorites.
"Honestly, I've been sitting with the demos for nearly two years, and I still haven't got sick of any of it," he continued. "I don't listen to it in a self-serving way. I'll listen to them and think, 'When am I going to hate them?' And every time I listen to them, I really like all these songs. It's the first time I've listened to a record and found there's not a lot I would change. With making anything, I could tweak it forever, but I think with this one, the mentality was just: go in, write these songs, and when they're done, they're done. Don't overthink anything. Hopefully, by approaching it in a 'Let's make them sound really cool and not tweak them forever' stance, then they would be the rawest possible version. I though the last record was definitely a little flippant in production, and I just wanted to pull back on that."
THE DAMNED THINGS was formed a decade ago, when FALL OUT BOY's Andy Hurley and ANTHRAX's Scott Ian started writing music together. The band played its first show two years later and released its debut album, "Ironiclast", in December 2010. After performing a few gigs together, the members took a hiatus and returned to their respective bands.
In addition to Ian and Hurley, "Ironiclast" featured EVERY TIME I DIE frontman Keith Buckley, Trohman, Newton and Caggiano.
"Ironiclast" sold 6,200 copies in the first week of release and reached the No. 1 spot on Billboard's Heatseekers chart.

ENTOMBED A.D.: 'Torment Remains' Music VideoThe official music video for "Torment Remains", a brand new song from Swedish metallers ENTOMBED A.D., can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's upcoming album, "Bowels Of Earth", which will be released on August 30 via Century Media.
Comments guitarist Nico Elgstrand: "For you here to enjoy, this new track of our forthcoming album 'Bowels Of Earth'! We sincerely hope and believe that it will melt your brain into mush."
"Bowels Of Earth" track listing:
01. Torment Remains
02. Elimination
03. Hell Is My Home
04. Bowels Of Earth
05. Bourbon Nightmare
06. Fit For A King
07. Worlds Apart
08. Through The Eyes Of The Gods
09. I'll Never Get Out Of This World Alive (Hank Williams cover)
10. To Eternal Night
According to a press release, the follow-up to 2016's "Dead Dawn" "represents a huge leap forward for these gnarly veterans. Faster, tighter and more viscerally crushing than anything they have produced before."
Singer Lars-Göran Petrov said: "We have our Brazilian friend, Guilherme, coming into the band on guitar and we've been getting energy from that.
"This recording was a lot more focused and straightforward. We kept things simple, but still with thought behind everything. And there was absolutely no stress."
Last summer, ENTOMBED A.D. released a new single, "Fit For A King".
ENTOMBED A.D. was formed in 2014 when Petrov and other members of ENTOMBED decided to change the band's name in order to avoid a legal battle with ENTOMBED guitarist Alex Hellid who didn't want his former bandmates to use the ENTOMBED moniker.
"[ENTOMBED and ENTOMBED A.D. are] the same thing — just some minor complications on the way," Petrov told Finland's Rauta. "But we are here and playing music and headbanging, and that's the most important. But it's the same. It's the same."
Petrov added that he and his bandmates "don't think about" the slight alteration in the group's name. "We just let it roll. As long as we are out, nobody can stop us."
Asked what inspires him to make music and write lyrics these days, Petrov said: "It's boring to sit at home. [Laughs] No, you can always be productive and be out on tour and have no sleep. But that all doesn't matter when you come to the show and you see your brothers in metal. Then it's all worth it."
On the topic of ENTOMBED's musical evolution over the years, Petrov said: "As you go on in life, you experience new things, you wanna try out other things, and ENTOMBED has always tried to do that. Maybe more than for our own good sometimes, but now we're just going straightforward and we just do it again — over and over again. And as long as you don't get tired of it, you just continue. If you get tired of it, you should quit. You don't do it because… If you don't like it, step aside and let it roll."
ENTOMBED A.D. is:
Lars-Göran Petrov - Vocals
Nico Elgstrand - Guitar
Olle Dahlstedt - Drums
Guilherme Miranda - Guitar 3

GENERATION AXE Feat. VAI, MALMSTEEN, WYLDE, BETTENCOURT, ABASI: Audio Samples Of Entire 'Live In China' AlbumIn the spring of 2016, guitar heroes Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, Zakk Wylde (OZZY OSBOURNE, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY), Nuno Bettencourt (EXTREME) and Tosin Abasi (ANIMALS AS LEADERS) teamed up for a North American tour called "Generation Axe", in which the five musicians shared a backing band and performed together in addition to playing individual sets.
A year after their successful inaugural tour, the five guitarists reconvened for an 11-city tour of Asia that included a stop in Beijing, China. Select performances from that April 2017 concert appear on the new live recording, "Generation Axe - The Guitars That Destroyed The World: Live In China". The album will be released on June 28 via earMUSIC as a CD digipak, limited colored 2LP+download and digital.
The track listing is as follows:
01. Generation Axe - Foreplay (BOSTON cover)
02. Tosin Abasi - Tempting Time (ANIMALS AS LEADERS cover)
03. Tosin Abasi/Nuno Bettencourt - Physical Education (ANIMALS AS LEADERS cover)
04. Nuno Bettencourt - A Side Of Mash (medley of EXTREME solos)
05. Nuno Bettencourt/Zakk Wylde - Sideways (CITIZEN COPE cover)
06. Zakk Wylde - Whipping Post (THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND cover)
07. Steve Vai - Bad Horsie
08. Yngwie Malmsteen - Valhalla / Baroque n Roll / Overture / From a Thousand Cuts / Arpeggios from Hell / Far Beyond the Sun
09. Yngwie Malmsteen/Steve Vai - Black Star
10. Vai/Wylde/Bettencourt/Abasi - Frankenstein (Edgar Winter cover)
11. Generation Axe - Highway Star (DEEP PURPLE cover)
Audio snippets of all the tracks that appear on "Generation Axe - The Guitars That Destroyed The World: Live In China" can be streamed below.
According to a press release, the "Generation Axe" experience goes way beyond simply gathering five guitar greats on one stage. Much of the time when multiple rock guitarists join in jamming, the results are conventional and often even a mess. But the arrangements of some of the classic tracks performed by these five players makes for a magnificent cacophony of organized chaos unlike anything ever presented before.
Vai says the idea behind "Generation Axe" was "to create a seamless show with one backing band and five completely accomplished and astonishing guitarists that take to the stage in various configurations, performing some of their solo music and merging together as cohesive co-creators of lushly orchestrated guitar extravaganzas."
Vai describes "Generation Axe" as "pure controlled chaos." "My favorite thing about 'Generation Axe' is the tour bus," he says. "Between the hours of 1 a.m. and 7 a.m., when we're all hanging out in the lounge just rapping. I wake up in the morning [and] my jaw hurts from laughing so much. These guys, they're out of their minds."

QUEEN's BRIAN MAY: 'ADAM LAMBERT Can Do All The Stuff That FREDDIE MERCURY Did And More'Brian May spoke to Guitar World magazine about the experience of having legendary singer Paul Rodgers front QUEEN between 2004 and 2009 and how it compares to working with Adam Lambert.
"They're both great, of course," the QUEEN guitarist said. "We had a fantastic time with Paul. He has his own style, which we integrated into the band. But what happened was, there was a meeting point where we wanted to go deeply into his music — we were influenced by it in the first place. For me, it was a joy to play 'All Right Now', 'Can't Get Enough Of Your Love' and all those things.
"It became difficult as time went on, though," May admitted. "We would play South America, where people didn't know that music, so we played more QUEEN songs. Paul dealt with it well, but I think it was hard for him to abandon a lot of his material. We really enjoyed it as an experiment, but as an experiment it had… limits. Eventually, we thought, 'It's probably gone as far as it can. Paul needs to get back to his own career.' Because he couldn't just go on being the frontman of QUEEN. By mutual agreement, we thought, 'That's it.'
"Now, with Adam, it's a different story, because Adam can do all the stuff that [late QUEEN singer] Freddie [Mercury] did and more. It doesn't matter what you throw at Adam — he can do it. He can do 'Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy' [from 1976's 'A Day At The Races'], which we wouldn't dream of throwing at Paul Rodgers, because it just wouldn't work. With Adam, it's a different kettle of fish. He's a born exhibitionist. He's not Freddie, and he's not pretending to be him, but he has a parallel set of equipment. He knows how to deal with an audience. He teases and taunts an audience quite naturally, without thinking about it. He loves to dress up. Although Paul did dress up a bit for us. We got a lot of sequins on him. [Laughs]
"Adam lives and breathes that stuff," Brian added. "Adam is style, and that's not to say he's not content as well. He's a born rock star and frontman, so it's a very vibrant relationship we have with him. We treat Adam exactly the same as we treated Freddie in almost every way."
Rodgers recently described his stint with QUEEN as "a wild ride." He told SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation": "It came out of the blue. When Brian asked me if I wanted to do a couple of shows just for fun in Europe, I was pretty taken aback. And I must say my first reaction was, 'Well, I really don't see that.' But then I said to myself, 'Well, it's a challenge. Let me see if I can do it. Maybe I'm chickening out here.' So I did it. And it turned into four years, actually. We toured all over the place. We toured the world twice, and we finished off with a studio album of all-original material. So it was a wild and crazy ride, as they say. And we are still friends, and I love the guys."
With Rodgers at the mic, QUEEN embarked on two world tours and released an album, "The Cosmos Rocks", in 2008. They amicably parted ways a year later when Rodgers returned to BAD COMPANY.
"When I sort of joined forces with [QUEEN], they were not touring," Rodgers recalled. "They were doing one-off gigs — they were big one-off gigs, but they weren't touring. And with me, what we did [is] we went out… They wanted to play 50 percent of their music and 50 percent of mine, and I said to them, 'People haven't seen QUEEN live for a long time. We should make it QUEEN heavy.' So we did four or five of my songs… But it was great. It was good."
Rodgers has said in previous interviews that he performed all of the QUEEN songs in the late Freddie Mercury's original keys. "A lot of people drop the keys," Paul said. "But, to me, the challenge was to do this material the way it was done, but in my interpretation of it."
The current incarnation of QUEEN, featuring Lambert, the 2009 "American Idol" runner-up, was created in 2011 and has gone on several tours, including two worldwide runs in 2014-15 and 2017-18. 38

STITCHED UP HEART Releases Lyric Video For 'Darkness' Title TrackHard rockers STITCHED UP HEART have released the official lyric video for the title track of their upcoming album, "Darkness". Check it out below. The disc will be released in the spring of 2020 via RED Music.
"The song 'Darkness' is dedicated to a few of our closest fans of the band," states STITCHED UP HEART frontwoman Alecia "Mixi" Demner. "It's about going through dark times over and over again and not being afraid anymore. Knowing that you have made it through before and will make it out alive again."
The 13-song follow-up to 2016's "Never Alone", "Darkness" was produced by produced by Matt Good of FROM FIRST TO LAST and D.R.U.G.S. The effort will include the previously released single "Lost", featuring a guest appearance by GODSMACK frontman Sully Erna.
Demner told Billboard that she became friends with Erna some years ago, and he actually did some songwriting with her for the album. "We didn't end up using those songs, but he agreed to be on ['Lost'] when we wrote it at the end of the record," she said. "I just think he put a really cool spin on this song. His take on the bridge portion is just great; He's that evil entity in your head that tells you that you can't do this or you're not good enough, that you're not worth anything, all the horrible things you can spin out of control without realizing it's just your thought processing."
STITCHED UP HEART recently finished playing U.S. and Canadian dates with GODSMACK and VOLBEAT.
Demner performed as a vocalist in various bands before starting STITCHED UP HEART in 2010. She previously told Spokesman.com that her influences are appropriately and wildly eclectic: PANTERA, GLASSJAW, DEFTONES, Louis Armstrong.
"I really like mixing those elements," Demner said, "the heavy, drop-tuned guitars with something that catches your attention and that you can remember."

TRAUMA Reveal "Savage" Lyric VideoCalifornia thrashers Trauma recently made their comeback with a new album entitled, As The World Dies, now available on Pure Steel Records.
With a fierce and solemn hymn to self revenge, the band now reveals the new lyric video for ‘Savage’. Drummer Kris Gustofson says, “The new lyric video is just epic! The concept of the song is basically about a woman in major distress due to the horrid sex trade, and other womanizing operations that exist in many places on the planet, and she finally gets a break and takes out major revenge by going Savage. We hope metal fans will like this.”
The lyric video was created by Italian videomaker Marco Testa, and it’s a strong visual portrayal of the still current and tragical theme of the exploitation of women’s bodies; but this time with a final appropriate payback.
Trauma formed in 1981 in the San Francisco Bay Area. It currently consists of members Donny Hillier (vocals), longtime drummer Kris Gustofson, guitarist Joe Fraulob (former member of Danzig), guitarist Steve Robello (former member of Dublin Death Patrol) and bassist Greg Christian, founding member of Testament. The band is known for its association with Cliff Burton, the original bassist of Metallica, who founded Trauma before joining Metallica in 1982.
With an eye on the past but focused on the future, As The World Dies, produced by guitarist Joe Fraulob, is certain to be a landmark third album, staying true to their signature sound that came before but with a very modern edge.

V.D. is back... the beast has awaken from its ancient slumber ready to obliterate all who stand in its way!".

AGAINST THE GRAVE Unleash "Killing Us Slowly" VideoLos Angeles, CA based metal band Against The Grave has released the official music video for their debut single, "Killing Us Slowly". An aggressive soaked, groove dominated, riff-driven, vigorous, infectious dark track, "Killing Us Slowly" was directed, shot, and edited by Nathan Karma Cox.
"This video was a lot of fun to make, especially with Nathan Cox at the helm! We’ve worked with him in the past, and his vision and final product is always top shelf. We had a day of sun, fun, beer, cool cars and all the homies came out to hang and help any way they could. Definitely one of the most enjoyable video shoots we’ve ever done,” says Against The Grave bassist Jay.
An unlikely alignment of solitary spirits from all around the world, brought together by none other than metal itself. This uncanny formation culminates a fire of heavy metal power, hard rock passion, and electric force. Tuned much in the vein of metal legends Pantera, Slipknot, and Five Finger Death Punch, Against The Grave brings new damage to the heavy metal lifestyle.
"We just clicked, immediately, almost as if we had been writing together for years, the music just simply erupted," asserts Jordan Gaw, vocalist of Against The Grave
"'Killing Us Slowly' is pure blunt force trauma, it's my favorite song right now, Nathan did such a great job on the video," exclaims Andrea Martis guitarist of Against The Grave.
