PINK FLOYD Premier "Run Like Hell" Live (2019 Remix); Video

PINK FLOYD Premier "Run Like Hell" Live (2019 Remix); Video

In support of their upcoming box set, Pink Floyd have released a 2019 remix of their live performance of The Wall album classic "Run Like Hell", featured on the 1988 live album, Delicate Sound Of Thunder. Watch the video below:

On November 29, Pink Floyd Records will release Pink Floyd The Later Years, a 16-disc set (5xCDs, 6xBlu-Rays, 5xDVDs) covering the material created by David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright from 1987 onwards. Watch an unboxing video below:

The period generated record sales of over 40 million worldwide and included three studio albums: A Momentary Lapse Of Reason, The Division Bell and The Endless River as well as two live albums: Delicate Sound Of Thunder and Pulse. With additional production from David Gilmour and Andy Jackson, over 13 hours of unreleased audio and audiovisual material, including the sought-after 1989 Venice and 1990 Knebworth concerts, Pink Floyd The Later Years is a must for all fans.

A multi-media, deluxe box set, Pink Floyd The Later Years presents an expanded view of the Pink Floyd story from 1987 to the present and kicks off with A Momentary Lapse Of Reason, the album that confirmed Pink Floyd as one of the world’s biggest artists.

The album, presented for the first time in 5.1, has been remixed and updated by David Gilmour and Andy Jackson. The release of The Later Years project gives an opportunity for a fresh overview of the A Momentary Lapse Of Reason album. By returning to some of Richard Wright’s keyboard parts and recording new drum tracks with Nick Mason, producers David Gilmour and Bob Ezrin have restored the creative balance between the three Pink Floyd members.

Throughout 1987 and 1988 the band’s live shows became the largest-grossing concert tour ever to that date and produced the critically acclaimed, Grammy Award nominated, Delicate Sound Of Thunder. Filmed at the Nassau Coliseum in New York State, the concert shows the band on the top of their form. The concert has been fully re-edited and upgraded from the original 35mm film negatives by Aubrey ‘Po’ Powell and Benny Trickett and the sound remixed to 5.1. It also includes "Terminal Frost" and "Welcome To The Machine", two tracks that were not included on the original concert film release. For the first time the concert is available in 5.1 on Blu-ray and DVD.

Two of the most sought-after additions to Pink Floyd The Later Years are the 1989 Venice Concert, performed on a floating stage in front of St Mark’s Square, and the 1990 Silver Clef Winners performance at Knebworth. Both concerts, previously unreleased, are now available on both DVD and Blu-ray (145mins). The momentous Knebworth concert saw Pink Floyd topping the all-star bill (that included Paul McCartney, Dire Straits, Genesis, Phil Collins, Eric Clapton and Tears For Fears), in aid of the Nordoff Robbins charity, profits from which went towards setting up the BRIT School. David Gilmour and Andy Jackson have remixed the audio from this iconic concert and all seven tracks performed on the day (with guest musicians including sax player Candy Dulfer, the original The Great Gig In The Sky vocalist Clare Torry, keyboard player Michael Kamen and Sam Brown with her mother, Vicki, on vocals), are released here as well as for the first time ever on CD.

1994’s album The Division Bell sold over 12 million copies, having debuted at No 1 in the UK, the USA, Australia and New Zealand. It stayed at the top of the US charts for 4 weeks, and also went to No 1 in six other countries. The resulting tour was captured and recorded for the concert release Pulse. This release contains the entire Pulse live concert film, re-edited and upgraded from the original masters, from the groundbreaking Earl’s Court gigs, and available for the first time on Blu-ray. Also uncovered for the first time is footage of the band in rehearsals on October 20, 1994 performing "A Great Day For Freedom" and "Lost For Words".

In 2014, Pink Floyd released The Endless River, comprising mostly instrumental and ambient music based on material recorded during The Division Bell sessions. Featuring David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright, additional material was recorded in 2013 and 2014, with one song, "Louder Than Words", with lyrics by author & novelist Polly Samson (the primary lyricist for The Division Bell album). The Endless River became the most pre-ordered album of all time on Amazon UK and debuted at number one in several countries. The vinyl edition was the fastest-selling UK vinyl release since 1997. Included here for the first time is the never previously seen specially commissioned full 52-minute The Endless River film by Ian Emes, famed for his work with Pink Floyd, including his animations for "One Of These Days", "Speak To Me", "Time" and "On The Run".

Rounding off the package are hours of unreleased bonus materials including music videos, documentary footage, bonus live tracks, upgraded tour screen films and documentaries. It includes the first ever release, on Blu-ray, DVD and 7” vinyl, of the last live performance of Pink Floyd with David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright together in 2007. This special performance of Arnold Layne took place at the Syd Barrett Tribute Concert at The Barbican on 10 May 2007. The full set boasts previously unreleased or remixed audio, plus restored, remastered and re-edited audio-visuals including unreleased concert footage and promo clips.

With the help of Nick Mason and the Pink Floyd archive, the box set comes with reproductions of tour artwork, posters, programmes, tour laminates, lyric book and much more including two 7” vinyl singles, (the live version of "Arnold Layne" performed at the Syd Barrett Tribute Concert in 2007 and "Lost For Words" from the Pulse tour rehearsals at Earl’s Court), in new picture sleeves and etched image B-sides. Also included is a brand new 60-page hardback book of photos, designed by Aubrey Powell of Hipgnosis and Peter Curzon of StormStudios, including many previously unseen images.

The 5 CDs are encased in their own 40-page hardback book with an extensive guide to all content, tracklists and credits.

There will also be a 2-LP / 1-CD ‘Highlights’ package. It comes in a gatefold sleeve (for both 1-CD and 2-LP), and each will contain a 24-page booklet containing previously unseen and rare photos.

BLACK SABBATH's TONY IOMMI Mourns Death Of Legendary British Photographer TERRY O'NEILL

BLACK SABBATH's TONY IOMMI Mourns Death Of Legendary British Photographer TERRY O'NEILL

BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi has reacted to the passing of Terry O'Neill, the British photographer known for his famous shots of celebrities in the 1960s and 1970s.

Earlier today, Iommi took to his social media to write: "Sad to hear about Terry O'Neil, he was a really nice guy and it was an honour to have him take the portrait shot for my autobiography."

According to the BBC, O'Neill died on Saturday after a battle with prostate cancer. He was 81.

Released in hardback in November 2011, Tony's memoir, "Iron Man: My Journey Through Heaven And Hell With Black Sabbath", landed at position No. 35 on the New York Times "Hardcover Nonfiction" best sellers list.

Da Capo reportedly paid a six-figure amount at auction for the rights to the 352-page book, which was described as "'Angela's Ashes' meets 'The Ground Beneath Her Feet' meets 'Spinal Tap'" by Foundry Literary + Media co-founder Peter McGuigan, who completed the North American rights deal for the memoir.

In an interview with Guitar World magazine, Iommi explained how his autobiography came together. "I had a chap called TJ Lammers, who I met many, many years ago when he used to work at Phonogram Records," he said. "He later became a journalist and he had his own magazine. He lives in Holland and we've stayed in touch over the years. I've had a few people say, 'Oh, I can write a book for you,' but I wanted a different outlook to the normal music journalist, and that's what happened. He came over to England and stayed with me for a few days. Then he'd write it up, come back again and do more. The whole thing took a couple years to finish."

When asked how his book is different to the typical rock biography, Iommi said, "I don't know. I don't read rock biographies, so it could be the same, it could be different. It's just my life, really. It's about what happened and what I grew up from, and how I've gone through life to where I am now. It's something I probably should have done a long time ago because there are so many books out now. I've been meaning to do it for many, many years but never got around to it."

Sad to hear about Terry O’Neil, he was a really nice guy and it was an honour to have him take the portrait shot for my autobiography.

Legendary Guitarist JOHN SYKES Splits With GOLDEN ROBOT RECORDS Without Releasing Long-Awaited New Album

Legendary Guitarist JOHN SYKES Splits With GOLDEN ROBOT RECORDS Without Releasing Long-Awaited New Album

Legendary English guitarist John Sykes (TYGERS OF PAN TANG, THIN LIZZY, WHITESNAKE, BLUE MURDER, SYKES) has parted ways with Golden Robot Records without releasing a single record through the label.

Sykes's partnership with the Australian company was first announced in January. At the time, John promised that his his first album in 19 years would arrive before the end of 2019. However, things apparently went south shortly after the signing, with Sykes now accusing the label of making "little attempt to move things forward despite our best efforts and patience."

On Saturday (November 16), John released the following statement via his official web site:

"Dear John Sykes fans. We regret to announce that our partnership with Golden Robot Records has ceased.

"Unfortunately after the signing, contractual agreements were unfulfilled by Golden Robot Records and there was little attempt to move things forward despite our best efforts and patience. When written contracts revert to unfulfilled verbal promises all integrity in a company becomes lost. We simply cannot work this way.

"We want the fans to understand that we are fully aware of the frustration this will cause. We now feel that the best course of action is to release the album under our own control."

Sykes's as-yet-untitled new disc (its previously announced title of "Sy-Ops" has now apparently been scrapped) is expected to include such tracks as "Dawning Of A Brand New Day", "Believe In Yourself", "My Guitar" and "Out Alive".

Speaking to Reality Check TV at this past January's Hall Of Heavy Metal History event in Anaheim, California, Sykes stated about his absence from the rock scene: "I'm looking forward to getting out on the road and playing again. I kind of go underground and stay there for a while. I don't know, man. Sometimes I just take off and shut it all down. But I'm getting the itch, I've been having the itch to get back out and play, so I'm looking forward to that."

Asked about the musical direction of his new record, Sykes said: "It's kind of got flavors of old and new. But I think it'll be pleasing to a lot of people to hear it. I think it'll touch a fair few people if they check it out. It's a good, solid album — it's not just a couple of tracks and a load of fillers."

Sykes's band for his upcoming tour is expected to include his onetime BLUE MURDER bandmate Tony Franklin (bass) and Fred Boswell Jr. (drums), both of whom are pictured with John below.

John's best-known work was when he joined WHITESNAKE and co-wrote the band's self-titled seventh studio album, released in 1987. It produced a major power ballad hit, "Is This Love", along with the No. 1 hit "Here I Go Again". The album was a major crossover hit, eventually selling over eight million copies in the U.S. alone.

Sykes announced his departure from THIN LIZZY in July 2009, explaining that "I feel it's time to get back to playing my own music."

Report: EDDIE VAN HALEN Released From Hospital After Painful Reaction to Cancer Drugs

Report: EDDIE VAN HALEN Released From Hospital After Painful Reaction to Cancer Drugs

According to TMZ, Eddie Van Halen is back home after spending several days in a hospital due to complications from his cancer treatment.

Sources close to the legendary guitarist tell the site he was admitted to the hospital last week with intestinal issues and abdominal pain, both the result of a bad reaction to the drugs Eddie is reportedly taking to battle throat cancer. He was released Sunday and he is said to be doing fine now.

There have been a lot of rumors regarding the VAN HALEN guitarist's supposedly worsening health, with TMZ reporting recently that Van Halen has been traveling between the U.S. and Germany for cancer treatment going on several years now. The site later said that "the sad medical news had some folks thinking Eddie was on his death bed ... but we're told that's anything but the case."

Last month, Eddie stopped by a McLaren dealership in Beverly Hills and mingled with the sales team, taking pictures and even giving one fan a kiss. A few days later, he was photographed at a spinal neurosurgeon's office in Beverly Hills, California.

A rep for Van Halen had no comment on TMZ's initial report when reached by Fox News.

Earlier this year, rumors were rampant that the classic-era lineup of VAN HALEN would reunite for the first time since 1984. It's unclear why the tour didn't happen, though there has been online chatter that a health setback involving Eddie Van Halen might have been responsible.

VAN HALEN has been inactive since it completed its U.S. tour in October 2015 in Los Angeles, California.

KISS To Play Concert For Great White Sharks Without PAUL STANLEY

KISS To Play Concert For Great White Sharks Without PAUL STANLEY

KISS's previously announced concert for great white sharks will go ahead without the band's frontman, Paul Stanley.

Although KISS has canceled its Australian farewell tour after Stanley was diagnosed with a bad case of the flu, the legendary rockers will still perform under the sea for great white sharks and eight fans separated from them by a small submarine.

After KISS and its fans travel aboard separate boats off the coast of Port Lincoln in South Australia, the band will stay above board on one vessel, and the fans will be lowered beneath the surface of the water from a second boat into the viewing sub in an area known for shark activity.

Tour group Adventure Bay Charters said: "Due to band member Paul Stanley's illness, KISS concert promoters One World Entertainment and TEG Live announced the tour was cancelled. We are sorry to hear this news that many fans lost the opportunity to join KISS last road trip concert, and we wish the best for Paul Stanley and a speedy recovery.

"We are glad to announce that we will keep hosting KISS concert for the remaining band members, the shark trip will still go Monday, the Ocean will rock&roll! 8 lucky customers will jump on our shark warrior, using our unique underwater sub, enjoy a KISS live concert and Great White Sharks!"

KISS was forced to cancel the Australian leg of its "End Of The Road" world tour due to Stanley's ongoing illness.

Just days after rescheduling the start of the tour, KISS scrapped all of this month's shows and the rescheduled Perth concert on December 3.

KISS's concert this month will mark only the fourth time the band has performed as a trio. KISS previously played as a three-piece in 1982 when original guitarist Ace Frehley reportedly refused to show up during a lip-synced performance of "I" from Studio 54, broadcast via satellite to the Sanremo Festival in Italy); in 2007 when a heart issue caused Stanley to be rushed to the hospital prior to KISS's concert at the Soboba Casino in San Jacinto, California; and in 2016, when Stanley missed a charity show after tearing a bicep.

CYHRA Release "No Halos In Hell" Guitar Playthrough Video; New Album Out Now

CYHRA Release "No Halos In Hell" Guitar Playthrough Video; New Album Out Now

Cyhra released their sophomore album, No Halos In Hell, today (November 15) via Nuclear Blast. To celebrate the release accordingly, Cyhra show you their new guitar playthrough video for the title track, "No Halos In Hell":

Founded by vocalist Jake E (ex-Amaranthe) and guitarist Jesper Strömblad (ex-In Flames), Cyhra has gone from being reminiscent of the duo's former bands to having a unique identity. In fact, No Halos In Hell is one of those rare albums that defies being neatly placed in a genre box; coming out heavy and dynamic, the record is loaded with melodic vocal hooks that stay nailed to the brain for days, achieving maximum impact throughout. Fusing a relentless energy and heaviness the best way possible was Cyhra's main focus this time out. The addition of guitarist Euge Valovirta (ex-Shining) as a full member has raised the creative process to a level where, according to Jake E, "Everyone is playing to the point of what is best for the song.” No Halos In Hell is one of those rare albums that defies being neatly placed in a genre box: delivering tunes that are both heavy and dynamic, the record is loaded with melodic vocal hooks and musical ear-worms.

Produced by Jacob Hansen and co-produced by the band's very own Jake E, the album is filled with 12 live-oriented songs, ensuring maximum catchiness.

No Halos In Hell is available as 2 CD digipak, black vinyl or download. The bonus CD included in the limited digipak includes six additional songs, three of them being exclusive acoustic versions. You can order the format of your choice here.

Tracklisting:

"Out Of My Life"
"No Halos In Hell"
"Battle From Within"
"I Am The One"
"Bye Bye Forever"
"Dreams Gone Wrong"
"Lost In Time"
"Kings Tonight"

Watch JIM MARTIN And ROBERT TRUJILLO Perform FAITH NO MORE's 'We Care A Lot' With INFECTIOUS GROOVES

Watch JIM MARTIN And ROBERT TRUJILLO Perform FAITH NO MORE's 'We Care A Lot' With INFECTIOUS GROOVES

INFECTIOUS GROOVES performed a cover version of the FAITH NO MORE classic "We Care A Lot" during the band's appearance at this weekend's Sick Bastards Social Fest in Brazil. Fan-filmed video footage of the performance can be seen below.

INFECTIOUS GROOVES' reunited lineup on Sunday, November 17 at Espaço das Américas in São Paulo included frontman Mike Muir, METALLICA bassist Robert Trujillo and ex-FAITH NO MORE guitarist Jim Martin, alongside Brooks Wackerman (AVENGED SEVENFOLD) on drums and Dean Pleasants (SUICIDAL TENDENCIES) on second guitar. The event, which was curated by Muir, celebrated 34 years of the Brazilian radio station 89 A Rádio Rock. Also appearing with the band for "We Care A Lot" and a performance of the SUICIDAL TENDENCIES classic "Subliminal" was Trujillo's son Ty.

Jim, who was filling in for original INFECTIOUS GROOVES guitarist Adam Siegel, previously played with INFECTIOUS GROOVES in 2013 at METALLICA's Orion Music + More festival at Belle Isle in Detroit, Michigan and again in 2014 at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, California.

INFECTIOUS GROOVES was formed soon after Trujillo joined SUICIDAL TENDENCIES in 1989. Muir and Trujillo got together with some friends to write song that centered more around the bass, but with the intent of giving everyone else a whole lot of freedom.

"SEX PISTOLS and PARLIAMENT were my two favorite bands when I was young," commented Muir. "People think they're completely different but I saw a lot of similarities, even if musically they were categorized as completely different styles. There's something beautiful about breaking rules that never should have been made."

SLIPKNOT's SID WILSON To Release 'Sexcapades Of The Hopeless Robotic Vol. 2' Solo Album In December

SLIPKNOT's SID WILSON To Release 'Sexcapades Of The Hopeless Robotic Vol. 2' Solo Album In December

Sidney George Wilson, better known as the mask-wearing turntablist for heavy metal group SLIPKNOT, will release the second of his trilogy of albums, "∫∑x©∆p∆D∑∫ øƒ †h3 høP∑£3∫∫ ®øbø†¡¢ Vol. 2" (Sexcapades Of The Hopeless Robotic Vol. 2) on December 13. The effort will feature guest appearances by Killah Priest, Rome Fortune, DJ Q*bert, Bizzythowed, Deewillalien, Sluggo and Arius.

A preview of the disc is available below.

The first album in the trilogy, "∑x©∆p∆D∑∫ øƒ †h3 høP∑£3∫∫ ®øbø†¡¢", arrived in August 2018.

In a 2018 interview with PureGrainAudio, Wilson spoke about his evolution into a turntablist. He said: "My grandma had a piano or keyboard in her house. She would play church songs and stuff like that. I would tinker around on that when I was younger, and she bought me a couple keyboards. One of them had lights on the keys that would light up when you were supposed to hit the keys. I had a bunch of cards that you would put in the keyboards that had all these classical songs, so I kind of learned to play those a little bit when I was a little kid. But there was just some other shit that I was fiddling with because I was interested in a lot of different noisemakers. My grandma used to have a lot of harmonicas around the house from her husband, my grandfather. I used to fuck around with those when I was a kid, too.

"I tried all different kinds of stuff," he continued. "I messed around with drums. I tried the saxophone. Then I really liked bass guitar; I latched on to that big time. Then writing, doing poetry, and then around junior high, I started writing some raps. Then when I started DJing, I had a bass guitar that an ex-girlfriend had given me. When I was out of town DJing, she came and took the guitar back and told my mom she could have it back or something. [Laughs] So then I just had the turntables and focused all my energy into the turntables big time... I tried to be in the background more, making beats, producing, which is good for my skills... At some point, I started doing that again and I redeveloped back into hip-hop."

SLIPKNOT is continuing to tour in support of its sixth album, "We Are Not Your Kind", which was released in August via Roadrunner.

THE OFFSPRING To Release New Album In Early 2020

THE OFFSPRING To Release New Album In Early 2020

THE OFFSPRING guitarist Kevin "Noodles" Wasserman has confirmed to Halifax Today that the band's long-awaited tenth album has been completed. The follow-up to 2012's "Days Go By" was once again produced by Bob Rock, who also worked on the band's last two LPs.

"The artwork needs to be done and we have a rough track listing," he said. "We've even gone and done more music since. We just need a distribution deal, and we want that done by the end of the year. Then we can release early next year."

This past summer, Noodles talked to Finland's Kaaos TV about the musical direction of the new OFFSPRING material. He said: "It's definitely an OFFSPRING record. There's songs that you're gonna hear that are gonna be easily recognizable as vintage-sounding OFFSPRING, for sure. We're doing a song live every night called 'It Won't Get Better'. We would like to do more of the stuff live, but we want the fans to hear the songs the way we recorded them, the way we want them to hear it rather than a shitty cellphone recording…. One of the songs on there is gonna be 'Coming For You', which we released about four years ago, and that song is a good indication as well. Both those songs are pretty much dead center in what this record's gonna be like."

Speaking about THE OFFSPRING's working relationship with Rock, Noodles said: "We hit it off with him immediately. It's been a real comfortable relationship. He makes us work and he makes us try harder to be as best as we can, but he does it in a way that's cool — he's not being a dick about it. He makes us feel like we can do it. Rather than making us feel like, 'Oh, man, we're not playing good enough,' or whatever, or, 'We're not coming up with the best parts for this,' he makes us feel like we've got more in us and we can bring more to the table. So it's great working with Bob. We love that guy."

THE OFFSPRING debuted "It Won't Get Better" live in concert in June 2018 and has been performing it ever since. Noodles described the track as "kind of like a straight-forward OFFSPRING song."

THE OFFSPRING's last single, the aforementioned "Coming For You", dropped in 2015.

Earlier in the year, THE OFFSPRING bassist Gregory "Greg K." Kriesel, who hasn't performed with the band since 2018, filed a federal lawsuit against two of his bandmates — Noodles and vocalist/guitarist Bryan "Dexter" Holland — alleging trademark infringement and breach of partnership agreement over the rights to THE OFFSPRING name. In response, Holland and Wasserman filed a cross-complaint, denying basically everything Kriesel has alleged and asking the court to appoint 'three disinterested appraisers to appraise the fair value" of Kriesel's shares of THE OFFSPRING.

TESTAMENT Drummer GENE HOGLAN - "The New Album's Done"; Video Interview

TESTAMENT Drummer GENE HOGLAN - "The New Album's Done"; Video Interview

Legendary masters of rhythm Gene Hoglan and Steve DiGiorgio met with Duke TV on MegaCruise 2019 to discuss Testament’s forthcoming new album, Death reissues and the band’s legacy, Steve DiGiorgio performing with Sebastian Bach… and more.

An excerpt, focusing on the as yet untitled new Testament album, expected to be released in the first half of 2020, has been transcribed by BraveWords:

Gene Hoglan: "The new album's done. It's mixed, I think. I spent quite a bit of time up at Eric's up in Sacramento where he lives, working the songs up from the ground up.:

Steve DiGiorgio: "This time, we were involved in the early, early stages, and we were working one-on-ones, and as a group more. I think the songs grew within us. When we were preparing to go to the real recording, we jammed as a band, and it felt a little bit like the old days where we'd play and stop. 'What do you think? Four times, eight times? I don't know. Try it again.' So, I think in that way, we felt a little more invested. In my opinion, it's a turn a little bit more into the Testament sound."

In live news, Testament has announced The Bay Strikes Back Tour 2020 with Exodus and Death Angel.

JORN Covers DIO, DEEP PURPLE, FOREIGNER And More On Upcoming Heavy Rock Radio II - Executing The Classics Album; Music Video For BRYAN ADAMS Cover "Lonely Nights" Streaming

JORN Covers DIO, DEEP PURPLE, FOREIGNER And More On Upcoming Heavy Rock Radio II - Executing The Classics Album; Music Video For BRYAN ADAMS Cover "Lonely Nights" Streaming

Jorn's new covers album, Heavy Rock Radio II - Executing The Classics, will be released on January 24 via Frontiers Music Srl. Pre-order the album here, and watch a video for the cover of Bryan Adams' "Lonely Nights" below.

Simply one of the greatest rock singers of our time, Jorn Lande returns with a second instalment of covers of classics from artists and bands that have meant something special to him and helped forge this talented man's own unique style.

Through Jorn's extensive career, which includes more than 40 albums of mostly original songs, he has recorded great versions of several rock classics from classic bands such as DIO, Thin Lizzy, UFO, Deep Purple, and many more.

Every song Jorn covers is treated with the utmost respect and "Jorn-ized" accordingly, just like the first Heavy Rock Radio album showed with amazing cover versions of evergreen songs such as "I Know There's Something Going On", "Hotel California", "You're The Voice," "Running Up That Hill," and several others. Fans showed a lot of enthusiasm and interest for those versions, so a follow-up covers album seemed a no-brainer.

This second album, Heavy Rock Radio II - Executing The Classics, is not an ordinary album of cover songs, it is truly a songbook of hits. Featured - among others - are great versions of Pages’ "I Do Believe In You," Foreigner's "Night Life", Don Henley's "New York Minute," Deep Purple's "Bad Attitude," a stunning metal version of Peter Gabriel's "The Rhythm Of The Heat," and of course an unmissable Dio cover, "Mystery".

More "jukebox" type of covers include "Quinn the Eskimo (The Mighty Quinn)" originally recorded by Bob Dylan, Bryan Adams' "Lonely Nights", Jackie DeShannon "Needles And Pins", and a very personal choice from the man himself, a Russ Ballard song, “Winning”.

Jorn says: "The most important thing was to treat these songs with respect towards the original versions, my goal was always to think that the original artist would be honoured and find my version relevant. At the same time my intention was never to try to compete with the original song and artist, but make it a strong alternative version to enjoy."

Jorn's catalogue is getting too long to include in brief press statements, and his innovative and creative skills have led to him selling millions of albums worldwide and being a frequent entry on sales charts around the world, including Billboard. Worth a mention is his years with German based Masterplan, whom he recorded three albums with. Jorn continues his rock crusade, and there are no signs of him slowing down yet.

Tracklisting:

"Lonely Nights"
"Winning"
"New York Minute"
"Needles And Pins"

DETHKLOK played a 19-song set that included live premieres of the tracks "Impeach God" and "Comet Song". Joining mainman Brendon Small (guitar, vocals) at the gig were Gene Hoglan on drums, Nili Brosh on second guitar and Pete Griffin on bass.

In a 2012 interview with MLive, Small said that he conceptualized DETHKLOK's show after watching a live performance of GORILLAZ, another animated band fronted by Damon Albarn of BLUR.

"I always wanted to make a record, and find a way to tour it," Small said. "I checked out GORILLAZ, who are talented, and have some of the best animation I've ever seen, but [because the musicians hid behind a screen, and the audience couldn't see them,] there was no connection between performer and audience. It was cool and mysterious, but it didn't give the audience what they want. We don't look like [DETHKLOK], and we're not supposed to, but at least you can see us playing. We're like a pit band in that sense."

DETHKLOK's latest album, "Metalocalypse: Dethklok Dethalbum III", was released in October 2012 via Williams Street Records. The disc sold around 20,000 copes in the United States to land at position No. 10 on The Billboard 200 chart.

The band's previous CD, "Dethalbum II", opened with 45,000 units back in October 2009 to enter the chart at No. 15.

"Dethalbum III" was once again co-produced by Small and Ulrich Wild ("Dethalbum" and "Dethalbum II").

Former EXODUS Frontman ROB DUKES Sings JUDAS PRIEST's 'Turbo Lover' On NEW MESSIAH's Debut Album (Audio)

Former EXODUS Frontman ROB DUKES Sings JUDAS PRIEST's 'Turbo Lover' On NEW MESSIAH's Debut Album (Audio)

NEW MESSIAH, the band featuring C. Will Harden on guitars and Craig Cefola (DUKES, WHEELHOUSE JUNCTION) on drums, recently released its debut album, "Voice Of Choice". The disc includes 20 cover songs that showcase several singers, including legendary drummer Tom Hunting (EXODUS). Tom handpicked the Stevie Wonder classic "You Haven't Done Nothin'" as a song he always wanted to cover, along with three others, THE BUS BOYS' "Boys Are Back In Town", Jerry Reed's "East Bound And Down" and THE TIME's "Jungle Love" that also sparked the interest of Rock And Roll Hall Of Famer Darryl "DMC" McDaniels. Darryl wrote his part in that song and helped to open the album with this original take on Morris Day's classic from the Prince film "Purple Rain".

Also lending his vocals to tracks is Rob Dukes (EXODUS, GENERATION KILL, FRAGILE MORTALS), who can be heard on the JUDAS PRIEST classic "Turbo Lover", LYNYRD SKYNYRD's "Simple Man" and Tom Petty's "Refugee", all songs hand picked by Dukes who has worked with lifelong friend Craig Cefola for decades. Rob was instrumental in helping to get this project off the ground and brought in some of these amazing vocalists to help make this unique collection of covers a reality.

Elsewhere, Jack Gibson (EXODUS, TESTAMENT) and Craig Cefola share their respect for Jerry Reed on "East Bound And Down" from the film "Smokey And The Bandit". Jack plays bass on the track and also performs the song with his side band (COFFIN HUNTER).

Venezuelan rocker Deibys Artigas is featured on "Hell Is For Children", "Call Me", "The Final Countdown", the Spanish classic "Bailando" and the Billy Joel masterpiece "Scenes From An Italian Restaurant", a song that took the band several months to create. Piano parts were turned into acoustic guitar, while saxophone and clarinet morphs into ripping lead guitar solos.

Tbilisi-based vocalist Esté is featured on "Hot Stuff", "Our Lips Are Sealed", "Reach Out" and THE CARS classic "Moving In Stereo". She was the first vocalist on the project and inspired the band to expand the collection to a full album release.

Mitch Saul (KICKSTARTCHARLIE) brings his unique vocal stylings to "Holiday Road" from the film "National Lampoon's Vacation". The band tried out several singers before finally finding the right voice for this rarely covered Lindsey Buckingham classic.

James Arthur (WHEELHOUSE JUNCTION) pays tribute to Johnny Cash for the hard rock version of "Folsom Prison Blues".

Finally, NEW MESSIAH guitarist C. Will Harden gets his chance to shine vocally on FLEETWOOD MAC's "Gold Dust Woman".

NEW MESSIAH's cover of "Turbo Lover", featuring Dukes, can be streamed below.

This unique collection of covers brings together a special group of excellent talent and pays tribute to these vocalists' favorite songs. Be sure and check out the album tracks on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Google Play and many streaming services.

Ex-STRATOVARIUS Guitarist TIMO TOLKKI Accuses Swedish Band ECLIPSE Of 'Ripping Off' His Song

Ex-STRATOVARIUS Guitarist TIMO TOLKKI Accuses Swedish Band ECLIPSE Of 'Ripping Off' His Song

Timo Tolkki has accused the Swedish band ECLIPSE of "ripping off" a song from his post-STRATOVARIUS project REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE.

According to the guitarist, the ECLIPSE track "The Masquerade", which appears on the group's latest album, "Paradigm", is a copy of the song "Revolution Renaissance" from the band he founded after he left STRATOVARIUS in 2008.

"It's a fucking rip-off of 'Revolution Renaissance'," Tolkki said during the first episode of "The Timo Tolkki Podcast", which can be heard exclusively on the Rat Salad Review network (audio below). "It's the fucking same song, man."

He continued: "I belong to the German [German performance rights organization] called GEMA, and Germans are really anal when it comes to copyright infringements. So they do the case. And I'm asking for, like, five hundred thousand euros. So Frontiers [ECLIPSE's record company, which also previously worked with Tolkki] fucked me up pretty bad. And even the lyrics are sort of direct to me… It's my song, man. My lyrics — my song."

Tolkki went on to say that he never borrowed ideas from other artists without acknowledging it openly.

"I copied all the stuff from HELLOWEEN and RAINBOW, but I always gave them credit," he said. "But they never did this."

Both "The Masquerade" and "Revolution Renaissance" can be streamed below.

REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE released three studio albums before disbanding in 2010. At the time, Tolkki said that it had "become impossible to continue the band" due to his "private problems, the lack of interest in REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE shows by the promoters, and the current situation in the music industry that affects to everything, including the production budgets."

ECLIPSE's seventh album, "Paradigm" was released in October. The melodic hard rock quartet is the primary musical vehicle of the prolific Swedish songwriter and producer Erik Martensson, who also comprises half of NORDIC UNION, an ongoing project with PRETTY MAIDS vocalist Ronnie Atkins. In addition, Martensson is one of three core members of the melodic rock/AOR supergroup W.E.T., which also features Jeff Scott Soto (SONS OF APOLLO, TALISMAN) and Robert Sall (WORK OF ART).

Original BLACK SABBATH Drummer BILL WARD Releases New Song 'Once This Was A Road'

Original BLACK SABBATH Drummer BILL WARD Releases New Song 'Once This Was A Road'

Original BLACK SABBATH drummer Bill Ward has released a new solo song called "Once This Was A Road". The track, which is credited to the BILL WARD BAND, can be streamed below.

"Once This Was A Road" arrives more than a month after the release of another BILL WARD BAND song, "Arrows", which he issued to mark the second anniversary of the Las Vegas mass shooting.

"Arrows" was written, composed and produced by Ward and featured former WHITESNAKE, FOREIGNER and OZZY OSBOURNE drummer Brian Tichy, and former BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, MEGADETH and WHITE LION bassist James LoMenzo. It is not clear if those musicians were also involved in the recording of "Once This Was A Road".

Ward was on board for the SABBATH reunion when it was first announced eight years ago, but backed out soon after. The drummer later claimed that he sat out the recording and touring sessions because of unfair contractual terms, although the members of SABBATH have hinted in other interviews that he wasn't physically up to the task.

All four original members of SABBATH were present when the band announced its reunion in late 2011. But Ward split from the group in 2012, citing an "unsignable" contract, and singer Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler carried on with their Rick Rubin–produced "13" LP and extensive international touring without him.

Ozzy told The Pulse Of Radio during SABBATH's last tour that Ward was not in shape to participate. "Bill Ward has got the most physically demanding job of the lot of us, 'cause he's the timekeeper," he said. "I don't think personally he had the chops to pull it off, you know. The saddest thing is that he needed to own up to that, and we could have worked around it, whether we had a drummer on the side with him or something."

It was rumored that SABBATH wanted to bring a second drummer on the road to share duties with Ward, something that Iommi confirmed in 2017 during a question-and-answer session about SABBATH's "Ten Year War" box set.

Ward in 2015 released his first solo album in 18 years. Titled "Accountable Beasts", the record can be purchased on iTunes.

In November 2017, Ward's band DAY OF ERRORS released its first two songs, "Day Of Errors" and "Blaspheming At Creation", via iTunes, Spotify, Amazon MP3 and Google Play.

CYHRA Perform New Songs "Out Of My Life" And "Dreams Gone Wrong" Live In Malmö; Fan-Filmed Video Available

CYHRA Perform New Songs "Out Of My Life" And "Dreams Gone Wrong" Live In Malmö; Fan-Filmed Video Available

Swedish bashers Cyhra released their second album, No Halos In Hell, on November 15th via Nuclear Blast; they kicked off a European tour supporting Battle Beast on the same day. Fan-filmed video of the band performing new songs "Out Of My Life" and "Dreams Gone Wrong" in Malmö, Sweden on November 16th can be viewed below.

Cyhra's complete tour schedule is available here.

SHARON OSBOURNE: OZZY 'Used To Dress Up For Me'

SHARON OSBOURNE: OZZY 'Used To Dress Up For Me'

Ozzy Osbourne's wife says that he "used to dress up" in evening wear for her.

Sharon Osbourne made the revelation during a discussion on her daytime TV talk show "The Talk" about couples engaging in "sex bartering" with their partners.

After co-host Eve confessed, "I don't like the bartering kind of control part, but I do like the game part. Like, I think that can be fun," Sharon asked her, "Do you like to dress up?" "Well, sometimes. We have a thing where he has coupons," remarked Eve. "My husband used to dress up for me," said Osbourne. "He would dress up in evening wear. He would be like a waiter and he'd have like a beautiful white tie on, with no trousers, holding a tray and he'd say, 'Can I help you, madam?' And I'm, like, 'Yeees!'"

After Ozzy's affair with celebrity hairstylist Michelle Pugh was made public in May 2016, he underwent therapy for sex addiction. Sharon and Ozzy later reconciled and they even renewed their vows.

In 2017, Sharon told the British paper The Telegraph that Ozzy wasn't cheating with just one woman. "There were six of them," she said. "Some fucking Russian teenager... then a masseuse in England... our masseuse out here in Los Angeles... and then our cook. He had women in different countries. Basically, if you're a woman giving Ozzy either a back rub or a trolley of food, God help you."

Sharon talked about how she learned of his affairs. "We were sitting on the couch watching telly; Ozzy on one couch and me on the other," she said. "And suddenly, he sends me this e-mail. 'Why did you send me this stupid e-mail?' I asked, and when Ozzy told me that he hadn't sent me anything, I grabbed his phone and said, 'Look!' And, of course, it was a message meant for one of his bloody women."

DEVIN TOWNSEND Kicks Off European 'Empath' Tour (Video)

DEVIN TOWNSEND Kicks Off European 'Empath' Tour (Video)

Canadian heavy music artist Devin Townsend kicked off his European "Empath" tour on November 15 in Paris, France.

Fan-filmed video footage of the second show of the trek, which took place last night (Saturday, November 16) at Trix in Antwerp, Belgium, can be seen below.

Since disbanding the DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT, Devin has been tracking down players of excellence to form a new live band, which now consists of drummer Morgan Ågren, guitarist Mike Keneally, ambient guitarist Markus Reuter, keyboardist Diego Tejeida, singer and guitarist Ché Aimee Dorval, bassist Nathan Navarro, as well as a three-person choir comprised of Samantha and Anne Preis, and Arabella Packford.

Devin previously said about the tour: "This will be without a net. No backing tracks, no clicks, a lot of room for improvisation, and every possible avenue through musicians and production of high calibre for new and interesting things to be possible each night.

"Though this is the first of my upcoming plans for touring, and I don't want to be limited in the future, my gut feeling is that this will be a truly unique and fascinatingly colourful organization that will yield wonderful things. I truly hope it can be received well enough to be brought to a lot of different territories."

Over the past few years, the success that Devin has slowly worked for has fortunately come with the power to control his own creative destiny. The recent successes with the DVD from a sold-out Royal Albert hall, or his 2012 "Retinal Circus", or the "Ocean Machine" live DVD with the Orchestra And Choir Of State Opera Plovdiv has put him in a position where with the latest album "Empath", he has once and for all defined himself as a musical force outside of any particular genre classification.

On this album, Devin decided to see what would happen if all the styles that make up his current interests were finally represented in one place. To finally shake the fear of expectation, and just do what it is he was meant to do creatively, "Empath", true to the name, is about allowing the audience a feeling for a variety of musical emotions. The musical dynamics represented on this single album are broad, challenging, and immense. To approach this sort of work with a long history of what makes heavy music "heavy," allows this to be done with a type of power rarely heard.

Joining Devin on this album is Frank Zappa alumni Mike Keneally as music director, as well as Morgan Ågren (MATS AND MORGAN, FRANK ZAPPA, FREDRIK THORDENDAL), Anup Sastry (MONUMENTS, PERIPHERY), Samus Paulicelli (DECREPIT BIRTH, ABIGAIL WILLIAMS), Nathan Navarro, Elliot Desagnes, Steve Vai, Chad Kroeger, Anneke Van Giersbergen, Ché Aimee Dorval, Ryan Dhale and the Elektra Women's Choir.

The first single off HIGHLY SUSPECT's newest album, "MCID", and a track currently at No. 1 on Rock Radio, "16", has received a passionate, emotion-provoking music video. "16" is a song about love and heartbreak, unique to the rock scene with not a single guitar on the track. No other song has reached #1 on Rock Radio void of guitars in the last 30 years. "MCID" holds three charting positions including No. 2 on the Alternative Chart, No. 5 on Top Current Rock Albums chart, and No. 14 Top Current Albums.

The "16" music video recreates lead singer Johnny Stevens's story of his relationship that began at the age of sixteen. Visually showcasing the lyrics of first loves and instant heartbreak, the clip is relatable to more than just HIGHLY SUSPECT fans.

Johnny commented: "I'm known for having a lot to say about things, sometimes too much... this time I'm just gonna let the film and song do the talking for me. I already laid out as much pain as I can bare, no more words. Enjoy."

The lyrics describe the true story of lead singer Johnny Stevens falling in love at sixteen years old, fostering a relationship for seven years, and feeling elated when she told him she was pregnant with their baby. The song describes his instant devastation the moment of the birth when he found out that the baby wasn't his; the baby was a different race. Though a wild story, the lyrics capture the gut-wrenching feeling of first love lost, betrayal, and regret. This is a song about heartbreak in the worst way you can possibly imagine.

"MCID" was released earlier this month in the midst of HIGHLY SUSPECT's headline tour. The disc follows the band's 2016 sophomore album "The Boy Who Died Wolf" and showcases 16 songs total, including "Canals" and "Upperdrugs".

The sonically integrated "MCID" is not just the third full-length project from three guys who approach the rock genre with a hip hop ethos, but it’s a family meeting and an apology from Stevens, whose lyrics demand accountability from himself and urge him to be more honest to conquer the demons that made him who he is. With stories of heartbreak and hope, it’s not surprising that his most vulnerable collection of songs is addressed directly to his chosen family, his followers, and his comrades.

SICARIUS Release “A Practiced Hand” Lyric Video

SICARIUS Release “A Practiced Hand” Lyric Video

The California-based Sicarius have unveiled a lyric video for “A Practiced Hand,” the first taste of the group's forthcoming second album God Of Dead Roots. The clip – which was designed by Rafael Ortega of Ecliptic Visions, can be seen below.

“A Practiced Hand” is also now available for streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp and other digital platforms. The song is an ominous sign of things to come on God Of Dead Roots, which – like the group's 2017 acclaimed full-length debut Serenade of Slitting Throats – was produced by Mick Kenney (Anaal Nathrakh, Benediction, Empyrean Throne). Due out via M-Theory Audio in early 2020, the album marks the recording debut of new guitarist Travis “Grimnir” Whiting (Carnifex, Ruines Ov Abaddon), who was hand-picked by Sicarius' founding guitarist Argyris to be his successor last year. Additional information on the release will be revealed in the coming weeks.

“In preparation of the upcoming album God Of Dead Roots, the dagger cult presents to you our chosen spearhead for this release. ‘A Practiced Hand’ is the first staunch and discordant representation of what's to come,” explains Grimnir. “While staying familiar with the band's philosophy and crushing sound, new extremes within this adrenaline pumping formula have been reached. This track extends its meaning to those dedicated within their craft. Strictly adherent to the refinement of their chosen pursuit and fervently loyal to its principles. To the unsung and faceless assassins; once devoted in purpose, and unflinching to the temptations of glory.”

EVERY MOTHER’S NIGHTMARE To Begin Recording New Album

EVERY MOTHER’S NIGHTMARE To Begin Recording New Album

Every Mother's Nightmare will enter the studio in December to begin recording a new album. The follow-up to 2017's Grind will be released in 2020. Grind was released on October 6, 2017 via HighVolMusic.

Earlier this year at Rock N Pod 3 in Nashville, TN, Rick Ruhl spoke with Ages of Rock Podcast saying that the band has been writing and is in pre-production with a handful of songs written and ready to record. A new single is already to go and we're just waiting for the right time to release it. "We've been riding on the Grind record for over two years which is really unheard of for a band like this these days I think. We've had some great success with it. We also did two reissues with Smokin' Delta Voodoo and Backtraxx and released Grind on vinyl all within a two year period so yea I'm pretty happy. Plus, we did a couple of videos one for each reissue. Now it's time to move forward, Grind was good but the next one is going to overshadow it. It's going to be a little left and heavier of the Grind record. The band is the strongest it has ever been and we all gel really well together which makes the writing sessions strong. I think people are going to be very surprised at this one. I want to be known for what I'm doing not what I've done. I am humbled and appreciative of where this band has come from and what it has done all the way through right here and now. But hopefully years down the road someone will say, hey EMN was a cool band and really did something".

Every Mother's Nightmare played dates throughout 2018 in support of the releases and are heading to Europe in March 2020 to play the Hard Rock Hell and Sleazfest festivals in their first ever European tour. They then return to Europe again in May 2020 to play The Call of The Wild festival and complete a UK tour.

The working title for the new record is Fray and will be the 12th release in the bands career.

SONS OF APOLLO Debut Music Video For New Song "Goodbye Divinity"

SONS OF APOLLO Debut Music Video For New Song "Goodbye Divinity"

Sons Of Apollo - former Dream Theater members Mike Portnoy and Derek Sherinian, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (ex-Guns N’ Roses), Billy Sheehan (The Winery Dogs, Mr. Big, David Lee Roth) and Jeff Scott Soto (ex-Journey, ex-Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force) - are ready to ring in the new decade with a sonic boom with their second studio album, appropriately titled, MMXX (pronounced: 20/20).

Produced by The Del Fuvio Brothers (Portnoy and Sherinian), MMXX will be released on January 17 via InsideOutMusic/Sony as a standard CD package, Limited Edition 2 CD package (which includes instrumental mixes and a cappella excerpts), 2 LP + CD package, and on all digital formats. Pre-order here. Digital pre-orders come with an instant download of the album’s first single, “Goodbye Divinity”. A video for the song can be seen below:

“Stylistically, we have followed the same path as the debut,” outlines drummer Mike Portnoy. “But we feel that it has come out stronger, simply because we know one another better. Psychotic Symphony was the first time the five of us had worked together, so there was bound to be an air of experimentation happening. Now, we can draw on having the experience not only of recording that album, but also of touring together a lot. And now there is clearly a lot more obvious chemistry going on.”

“We did 83 shows on the last tour,” adds keyboardist Derek Sherinian. “And it was so worthwhile, because we came out of it with a stronger bond, and that is certainly reflected in what we wrote.”

The writing process began at the start of the year, as Portnoy, Sherinian and guitarist Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal got together. “The three of us were at my home studio in Pennsylvania,” explains Portnoy. “And it took about three weeks to get all the music written. That was a very smooth process. The last time, it certainly must have felt a little weird for Bumblefoot to be writing with Derek and me, because we were strangers to him. Now, we know one another better and that helped things push along.”

“Because we all have our home studios, it meant everyone could record there as and when they had opportunity,” continues Sherinian. “We all had the luxury of being able to take our time to get all the parts done, which was a huge help in the way the album's come out. I suppose in all, it took about eight months to record everything.”

The lyrics were written by Soto, who also came up with the melody lines with input from Sherinian. “While Jeff was left to come up with the words on his own, as the melody lines are part of the music, it made sense for me to be involved with that part,” says the keyboard player.

There are eight tracks on MMXX, with variations in length totalling 60 minutes. “The final song is 'New World Today, which is 16 minutes long,” says Portnoy. “This one has elements similar to 'Opus Maximus' and 'Labyrinth' on the previous album. It has some insane, brilliant instrumental moments, which I am sure the fans will love.”

“We wanted to do something epic here, as we did with 'Opus Maximus' last time around,” adds Sherinian. “You have to remember that Mike and I come from Dream Theater, where we never bothered about how long a song was. So, for us doing a 16 minute track is not a problem.”

The album title was inspired by a simple chronological fact. “This will be released in mid-January 2020,” says Portnoy. “That means it will be one of the first releases in what is a new decade. So I came up with the idea of calling it '2020,’ except having it written in the Latin form of 'MMXX'.” And the album’s artwork has been created by Thomas Ewerhard (who was responsible for the cover design of Psychotic Symphony), which inevitably reflects the title. As Portnoy explains, “For the first record, we had a mythological feel. This time around though, there's a much more futuristic style to what we've got. It has a very 21st century appeal. And the band crest is more polished, cleaned up and a lot more modern than last time, when it had an old fashioned look.”

“Each member of this band has their own signature sound on their instrument,” adds Sherinian. “And when you put all of this together what you get is a wonderful five-headed beast. It makes this a sonically special band, which is definitely what comes across on MMXX. You can hear odd time signatures and amazingly crazy performances here. Overall, we've been satisfyingly more adventurous this time than we were before, and I know people are sure to love what we've done.”

MMXX tracklisting:

"Goodbye Divinity"
"Wither To Black"
"Asphyxiation"
"Desolate July"
"King Of Delusion"
"Fall To Ascend"
"Resurrection Day"

Canada’s ASSAULT Streaming “Kamikaze” From Kill For Your Life Album

Canada’s ASSAULT Streaming “Kamikaze” From Kill For Your Life Album

Canadian speed metal pioneers Assault have released official audio for the song “Kamikaze”, taken from their 10-song offering Kill For Your Life, which was released in 2018 via SCRAPE Records.

Formed in 1985, Assault gained cult-like status with their 1987 classic Survival In The Street. A second album Kill For Your Life was recorded circa 88/’89, but ultimately the band dissolved and the album was shelved until 2018, when it finally received a proper release via independent Vancouver label SCRAPE Records.

Founding members Jeff Zgaljic (guitar) and Russell Dunaway (vocals) have recently announced plans to commemorate the band’s 35th Anniversary with a special release culled from the Assault archives, with more details to be announced soon.

Guitarist Jeff Zgaljic comments: “With so much renewed interest in Assault since the release of Kill For Your Life, we thought it would make a great opportunity to celebrate the band’s 35th anniversary with a commemorative package. Exact details are still being finalized, but you expect some gems... fans of this band are in for a real treat!”

A LIFE DIVIDED Reveal Single “Enemy”; Echoes Album Out In January

A LIFE DIVIDED Reveal Single “Enemy”; Echoes Album Out In January

Imagine you could send your latest favorite rock record on a journey through time and into the past - what would it sound like? That's exactly what A Life Divided had in mind when creating their new album Echoes (out January 31). New single, “Enemy”, is streaming below:

"It was during the ‘80s when we first came into contact with music. At that time I bought my first Adidas Allround sneakers, let my hair grow and played the songs of my metal heroes on guitar", recalls vocalist Jürgen Plangger, songwriter and producer Erik Damköhler was more of a synth-wave fan back then. "That's how we came up with the idea of mixing our A Life Divided-style with the typical synth-sounds of the ‘80s. Echoes as a result was something completely new: 13 songs that combine our dark alternative rock with the zeitgeist of the ‘80s”.

KONVENT - Copenhagen Death Doom Unit Release New Song "Trust"; Lyric Video

KONVENT - Copenhagen Death Doom Unit Release New Song "Trust"; Lyric Video

The four Danish women of Konvent may conjure up a deserved revival for the whole death doom genre when they release their new album, Puritan Masochism, on January 24 via Napalm Records. Formed in 2015, the Copenhagen collective stoically trudges through the blackest mires - guttural vocals and tenacious riffing combined with menacingly heavy production make Puritan Masochism an irresistible highlight of early 2020.

Today, Konvent unleashes a brand new single for the doomy-as-hell track “Trust”. Listen and watch the band's new lyric video below.

Guitarist Sara says: “Our second single, 'Trust', is written based on the opening riff, with sudden breaks to create a contrast between the heavy bass and the guitar. The lyrics are about how some groups can manipulate fragile people into opening up and sharing deep secrets, giving the group an immense power over them.”

Following their 2017 demo and highly acclaimed appearances at festivals such as Aalborg Metal Festival, Metal Magic Festival and Copenhell Freezes Over in 2018, Konvent not only inked a worldwide deal with powerhouse label Napalm Records, but their mesmerizing mix of death and doom also led them to big Danish stages, allowing them to perform at Copenhell and Roskilde Festival.

While rapidly stepping out as one of Europe's best kept death and doom metal secrets, January 2020 will finally see Konvent release their first full-length, Puritan Masochism, which was recorded live in Lasse Ballade’s studio in Copenhagen over a period of two weeks. “During the process of the songwriting, we were inspired musically by both death, black and doom metal, as we aimed to give this album a broader sound than our demo back in 2017.” the band recently stated. “The lyrics are inspired by the fight of regaining control when surrounded by chaos of different forms, which everyone may be affected by at some point in your life.”

Coming January 24 via LP, CD and digital formats through Napalm Records, the pre-sale has begun here.

MOLLY HATCHET Release "Devi's Canyon" (Live) Digital Single; Lyric Video Streaming

MOLLY HATCHET Release "Devi's Canyon" (Live) Digital Single; Lyric Video Streaming

Southern rock legends, Molly Hatchet, have released a new digital single and lyric video for the track "Devil's Canyon" (live). The track is taken from the band's forthcoming live album, Battleground. Watch the lyric video below.

It’s no secret that a lot of fans measure the artistic value of a rock band mainly by the quality of a group’s live performance. The Allman Brothers without their legendary concerts? Unthinkable! Lynyrd Skynyrd as just another anaemic studio project? Impossible to imagine! The same goes for Molly Hatchet as another legendary force among these protagonists of the longstanding history of Southern rock that, alongside lots of outstanding studio recordings, the band’s full potential comes into effect live on stage. Again and again, the musicians surrounding guitarist Bobby Ingram have reinforced their reputation as an awesome live act in brilliant live “battles”, so it comes as no surprise that requests by their international fan base for a new live recording have been growing increasingly insistent for a number of years.

Battleground was recorded in Pratteln, Switzerland, in Ludwigsburg, Germany, and during Molly Hatchet’s 40th anniversary tour of the United States and features amazing cover artwork created by Paul Raymond Gregory (Saxon, Blind Guardian, Uriah Heep, among others). Ingram looks back with legitimate pride and unmistakable modesty not only at the new live album but also at the band’s career to date: “Molly Hatchet has now been in the mainstream of Southern rock for over forty years and still counting. That in and of itself is an honour for every band member who experienced the journey along the way.” It’s this honour that listeners sense in every note on Battleground.

The upcoming shows will see Ingram & Co. not only present their greatest hits, they will also introduce their new vocalist Jimmy Elkins, who has joined the fold to replace the late Phil McCormack, who sadly passed away in April 2019. Elkins was the frontman of Florida band Bounty Hunter for a number of years, an act who has shared a stage with Molly Hatchet on various occasions over the past two decades. “To us it was the logical next step to ask Jimmy to become our new vocalist,” Ingram explains. “You can tell that he has the Southern rock gene and is a perfect match for Molly Hatchet, not only on a musical but also on a personal level.”

Battleground will be released through SPV/Steamhammer on November 29 as 2CD DigiPak, 3LP gatefold version, download and stream. Pre-order here.
