MÖTLEY CRÜE Releases Music Video For 'Same Ol' Situation (S.O.S.)' Featuring Footage From 'The Dirt'

MÖTLEY CRÜE Releases Music Video For 'Same Ol' Situation (S.O.S.)' Featuring Footage From 'The Dirt'

MÖTLEY CRÜE has released a 2019 music video for the "Dr. Feelgood" album song "Same Ol' Situation (S.O.S.)", with additional footage from the band's biopic "The Dirt". Check it out below.

"The Dirt", based on CRÜE's 2001 New York Times bestselling autobiography, debuted in March on Netflix. The film's stars, Douglas Booth (Nikki Sixx), "Game Of Thrones"' Iwan Rheon (Mick Mars), Colson Baker (a.k.a. Machine Gun Kelly) (Tommy Lee), Daniel Webber (Vince Neil), David Costabile (Doc McGhee) and Pete Davidson (Tom Zutaut) have all gotten critical kudos. "They possess similar abilities to navigate between charm and repulsion, all working together to create such a chummy group that their power as an ensemble elevates the material. Just like their real-life counterparts," wrote The Guardian.

MÖTLEY CRÜE's Nikki Sixx said: "In the film, we show painful examples of domestic violence, DUI, manslaughter, drug overdose and the loss of a child. We couldn't possibly have crammed everything from a 430-page book into an-hour-and-50-minute movie, but we felt we achieved our objective of showing the downside of sex drugs and rock and roll."

"The Dirt Soundtrack" features four new songs, including the first single, "The Dirt (Est. 1981) (feat. Machine Gun Kelly)", and CRÜE's unlikely cover of Madonna's "Like A Virgin".

MÖTLEY CRÜE's last studio album was 2008's "Saints Of Los Angeles", which was followed by a 2009 "Greatest Hits" compilation.

In 2015, MÖTLEY CRÜE completed "The Final Tour", closing the book on the band's iconic career after performing a total of 164 shows in 72 markets, grossing over $100 million.

To cement the sense of finality, the four members of MÖTLEY CRÜE in 2014 publicly signed a "cessation of touring" contract that prevents any of them from performing under the CRÜE name in the future.

A tour film about MÖTLEY CRÜE's final shows, "The End", came out in 2016.

Hear RATT's STEPHEN PEARCY And JANE'S ADDICTION's DAVE NAVARRO Perform Acoustic Version Of 'Lack Of Communication'

Hear RATT's STEPHEN PEARCY And JANE'S ADDICTION's DAVE NAVARRO Perform Acoustic Version Of 'Lack Of Communication'

RATT singer Stephen Pearcy and JANE'S ADDICTION guitarist Dave Navarro performed an acoustic version of the RATT classic "Lack Of Communication" during an appearance earlier today (Monday, October 7) on SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation". You can now listen to their rendition below.

A short time after the program aired, Navarro shared an Instagram photo of him with Pearcy, along with the following message: "Big day for me. When @stephenperkinsdrummer and I were in high school we used to ditch and get to the clubs EARLY to see @ratt and hopefully meet the guys. Years later, I get the honor of joining @stevenepearcy on @eddietrunk today. Really grateful to be able to hang onto memories like that and take pause and grasp where I ended up. This guy was one of our inspirations back in the day! Thanks to @ratt and RIP to my ex room mate and pal #robincrosby"

Pearcy recently told The Morning Call that RATT has been writing new music. He said he is collaborating for the first time in years with bassist Juan Croucier, and even with new guitarist Jordan Ziff.

The vocalist described the new material as something between the band's 1983 self-titled debut EP and the triple-platinum "Out Of The Cellar".

Last month, Pearcy told Atlantic City Weekly that RATT was planning to make new music available in 2020. "We're deciding now how we want to go about releasing it, whether it will be a full record or just a bunch of singles," he said. "I think we will probably go that route though — release a few singles, see how people take to it and the rest is easy."

RATT hasn't released any new music since 2010's "Infestation" album.

Watch SEBASTIAN BACH Perform SKID ROW's Entire Debut Album In Golden, Colorado

Sebastian Bach performed at Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Golden, Colorado on October 5 as part of his tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of SKID ROW's self-titled debut album.

Bach opened the 15-song set with "Tornado" — the LP's final track — and "Forever" before the singer performed the rest of "Skid Row" in order. As an encore, Sebastian played three songs from SKID ROW's 1991 album "Slave To The Grind": the title track, "In A Darkened Room" and "Monkey Business".

Setlist:

01. Tornado

02. Forever

03. Big Guns

04. Sweet Little Sister

05. Can't Stand The Heartache

06. Piece Of Me

07. 18 And Life

08. Rattlesnake Shake

09. Youth Gone Wild

10. Here I Am

11. Makin' A Mess

12. I Remember You

13. Midnight

Encore:

14. Slave To The Grind

15. In A Darkened Room

16. Monkey Business

Fan-filmed video footage of the concert can be seen below (courtesy of YouTube user Dan's 420 Chronicles).

In June, Bach issued an "open invitation" to the other members of SKID ROW's classic lineup to "get onstage and jam" during the vocalist's current tour. A few days later, during an interview with Finland's Kaaos TV, guitarist Dave "Snake" Sabo confirmed that he would not accept Bach's latest overture. "I'm working with my band," he said. "This is SKID ROW, and this is what I do."

Drummer Rob Affuso — who left SKID ROW in 1998 and claims to be "the only former member that keeps in contact with all former SKID ROW bandmates and is still good friends with them all" — subsequently joined Bach on September 25 at Sony Hall in New York City to play the band's classic song "Makin' A Mess".

Asked by Rolling Stone if he thinks his former bandmates are offended that he put his invitation out there publicly, Bach said: "No. I think it's an ego thing. They don't like when I get attention, and they don't get attention. It's always been like that. I can already see them getting mad, because I'm selling out shows, and they're not part of the show, and blah, blah, blah."

Watch ROBERT TRUJILLO's 15-Year-Old Son Perform With SUICIDAL TENDENCIES At 'SoCal Hoedown'

Watch ROBERT TRUJILLO's 15-Year-Old Son Perform With SUICIDAL TENDENCIES At 'SoCal Hoedown'

Tye Trujillo, the 15-year-old son of METALLICA bassist Robert Trujillo, played bass with SUICIDAL TENDENCIES this past Saturday night (October 5) at the SoCal Hoedown in San Pedro, California. He was filling in for regular SUICIDAL TENDENCIES bassist Ra Diaz, who was unable to make the gig for reasons that have not been disclosed.

Earlier today, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES posted video footage of Saturday's concert, along with the following message: "Wow... It's been 30 years since Robert Trujillo joined ST and did his firST shows with the band in Europe on tour with ANTHRAX.

"That firST show Robert came out like a beaST, going wild on ST all while slapping and bashing his bass with precision and a purpose. After the show, they were all 'where did you find this guy?'

"An amazing bass player, incredible person, and of course also co-founder of INFECTIOUS GROOVES, that was the STart of a lot of great shows, moments, memories and helping take ST to another level!

"Flash forward to laST Saturday night in San Pedro at the SoCal Hoedown. HiSTory repeats itself as a young Trujillo STeps on STage and bashed around it like a true Cyco!

"Huge thanks to Tye Trujillo for filling in for Ra for this one show. For showing what a bad ass he already is on bass, and at juST 15 years old, has already accomplished a lot, but huge things are STill coming his way. His youthful enthusiasm was contagious, his bass skills undeniable.

"JuST like Robert and Chloe, we were all super proud of him and an absolute blaST to be able to share a STage with him.

"On a side note, we warned him, over and over 'watch out for Ben, watch out for Ben!' So firST song, 'You can't bring me down', and guess what... It's Cyco that knocks him over!

"Well as we always say, you get knocked down in life, you get back up... And not only did Tye get back up... But with a smile and didn't miss a beat or a STep! There's a lesson there... Be like Tye!

"Again huge thanks to the Trujillo family and all people that came out to the feSTival to support us."

METALLICA shared video of Tye performing with SUICIDAL TENDENCIES and wrote in an accompanying caption: "Like father, like son!! So proud of Rob's son Tye for bringing it full circle and throwing down with SUICIDAL TENDENCIES last weekend!"

When he was just 12 years old, Tye Trujillo filled in for bassist Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu for KORN's South American tour after Fieldy was unable to make the shows due to "unforeseen circumstances."

Robert Trujillo was first invited to join SUICIDAL TENDENCIES for a European tour in 1989 supporting East Coast thrashers ANTHRAX. While with SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, Robert appeared on some of the band's most successful albums: "Lights, Camera, Action" (1990), "The Art Of Rebellion" (1992) and "Still Cyco After All These Years" (1993). During Trujillo's years with SUICIDAL, Muir heard some of Robert's homemade demos and they collaborated on a funkier, more progressive sound under the name INFECTIOUS GROOVES. They produced a number of albums such as "The Plague That Makes Your Booty Move..." (1991), "Sarsippius' Ark" (1993) and "Groove Family Cyco" (1994).

Former METALLICA Bassist JASON NEWSTED And His CHOPHOUSE BAND Play First Fully Electric Set At 'J-Town Jam' In Florida (Video)

Former METALLICA Bassist JASON NEWSTED And His CHOPHOUSE BAND Play First Fully Electric Set At 'J-Town Jam' In Florida (Video)

Former METALLICA bassist Jason Newsted and his CHOPHOUSE BAND played a fully electric setlist for the first time this past Saturday, October 5 as the headliners of the inaugural J-Town Jam, a musical benefit concert supporting Little Smiles and Little Kids Rock. Fan-filmed video footage of the performance can be seen below.

Named after Jason's four recording studio facilities around the U.S. and featuring a fluid roster of players, THE CHOPHOUSE BAND began in 1992 when Newsted founded The Chophouse Records Studio in San Francisco.

THE CHOPHOUSE BAND is led by Newsted, playing acoustic guitars and performing lead vocal, accompanied by
close friends/musicians of all walks and styles, sharing some great American songs from familiar and unfamiliar heroes.

Jason left METALLICA back in 2001, but was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, along with Lars Ulrich, James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett and the man who replaced him, bassist Robert Trujillo, in 2009.

Nearly six years ago, Jason shelved NEWSTED, the heavy metal project he operated between 2012 and 2014, saying that it cost him "an awful lot of money — hundreds of thousands of dollars." He added: "I couldn't continue because the business is such a harsh thing now and so different than what I had known."

Was sorry to hear that Jason Newsted had knee surgery and wondered how that would effect the music tonight over here at the Abacoa Amphitheater.

Check it out and you tell me......

Listen To HIGHLY SUSPECT's Collaboration With YOUNG THUG, 'Tokyo Ghoul'

Listen To HIGHLY SUSPECT's Collaboration With YOUNG THUG, 'Tokyo Ghoul'

HIGHLY SUSPECT has released an official visualizer for the song "Tokyo Ghoul", a collaboration with Young Thug. The track is taken from the band's third album, "MCID", which will be released on November 1. The project is an adventurous new chapter for HIGHLY SUSPECT and spans across rock, hip-hop and pop, and includes additional collaborations with Tee Grizzley, GOJIRA and NOTHING BUT THIEVES.

"MCID" is based on inconceivable true-life experiences (and perceptions) narrated by frontman Johnny Stevens. In his own words: "The themes include self-loathing, substance abuse, image issues, addressing my past and changing my future, with a sprinkle of anti-Trump, false social media worship, heartbreak, hope, depression and suicide. There are also a few references to the pressures of fame and how I won't play into it."

The lead single, "16", is about a first love and a moment of instant heartbreak. The lyrics describe the true story of Johnny Stevens falling in love at 16 years old, fostering a relationship for seven years, and feeling elated when she told him she was pregnant with their baby. The song describes his instant devastation the moment of the birth when he found out that the baby wasn't his; the baby was a different race. Though a wild story, the lyrics capture the gut-wrenching feeling of first love lost, betrayal and regret.

"MCID". This is the slogan tattooed on bodies across the world, four letters that hold so much meaning, a mystery to anyone who is not in the know. HIGHLY SUSPECT members Johnny Stevens and twins Rich and Ryan Meyer had not only been playing music for eight years before topping radio charts, garnering Grammy nominations, and selling out tours — but they also had been gradually accruing a cast of comrades that orbited their star, friends and chosen family that would travel the world with them, move cross country with them, and become pet parents with them. The growing community of companions have a name, and it is "MCID".

Originally from Cape Cod, the three bandmembers played covers in dive bars and moved to a studio apartment in Brooklyn together. In 2015, they gained national recognition after the release of their debut album, "Mister Asylum", on 300 Entertainment and their singles "Lydia" and "Bloodfeather" topped the rock radio charts. The next year they performed at the Grammy ceremony, receiving two nominations for "Best Rock Album" and "Best Rock Song". In 2017 the band traveled to Bogota, Colombia to record their second album, "The Boy Who Died Wolf". It was released in November 2016 and the success of hits "Little One" and "My Name Is Human" earned the band a third Grammy nomination for "Best Rock Song."

And now the band is ready to release album three, a manifesto full of lead Johnny Stevens's private confessions, packed to the brim with themes of self loathing, body image issues, substance abuse, addressing his complicated past and trying to change his future. It's not surprising that his most vulnerable collection of songs is addressed directly to his chosen family, his followers, and his comrades — the title of the album is "MCID".

"MCID" is packed with surprise major hip-hop features, a collaboration with the metal band GOJIRA, some Swahili verses, and a lead single, "16", that is completely guitar free. Other standout songs are his collaboration with Young Thug on "Tokyo Ghoul", and "Canals", which captures his frustration with the Trump presidency, saying that his rage feels like "someone took a crack pipe, lit it with a torch light, and threw it on a gas line — there is fire everywhere."

"MCID" is not just the third full length project from three guys who approach the rock genre with a hip hop ethos, but it's a family meeting and an apology from singer Johnny Stevens whose lyrics demand accountability from himself and urge him to be more honest and to conquer the demons that made him who he is.

Members Of RUSH, QUEEN, THE BEATLES, THE ROLLING STONES, WHITESNAKE, Others Pay Tribute To GINGER BAKER

Members Of RUSH, QUEEN, THE BEATLES, THE ROLLING STONES, WHITESNAKE, Others Pay Tribute To GINGER BAKER

Members of RUSH, QUEEN, THE BEATLES, THE ROLLING STONES, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, WHITESNAKE and THE KINKS are among the musicians who reacted on social media to the passing of Ginger Baker. The legendary CREAM drummer died yesterday (October 6) at the age of 80. Baker's family posted a message to fans on Twitter, stating he "passed away peacefully" at a hospital in the United Kingdom. "He was in no pain and had recently been able to see and speak to his children, close family and special friends," his daughter Nettie Baker told CNN in a statement.

Baker had been diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, in addition to chronic back pain from degenerative osteoarthritis. In 2016 Baker was forced to scrap a string of live dates after undergoing open-heart surgery.

Back in 2013, Baker told Rolling Stone that his health was "not good. It's troubling. At the end of the gig I'm absolutely exhausted. I've got degenerative osteoarthritis, which is extremely painful and I'm on a regiment with a health service pain management control. Apart from that I've got COPD from smoking."

During his musical beginnings on the London jazz scene of the late 1950s, Peter "Ginger" Baker forged a name for himself for his unconventional drum setup and flamboyant style. In 1966, after seeing Eric Clapton play in London, he formed the power trio CREAM with Clapton and bassist Jack Bruce. Over the next two years, CREAM sold 15 million albums, scoring such hits as "White Room", "Strange Brew" and "Sunshine Of Your Love".

Baker, who gained a reputation as the most uncontrollable musician on the scene, was the subject of a 2013 documentary, "Beware Of Mr. Baker", which painted the title character as a chain-smoking, profanity-spewing, mean-spirited, entitled, grouchy, vile and self-destructive man with otherworldly talent and tragic flaws.

Ginger Baker was a great and unique musician and an innovator as well - he will be sorely missed - I met him many years ago in the old days and saw him a couple years ago in New York and he still sounded great - 1/2

- he always had nice things to say about the Kinks - i feel bad but he had a good run - love and blessings Dave Davies nice drumming in this song @GingerBDrums https://t.co/sTZJHvp1FC #RIPGingerBaker 2/2

Sad to hear of the passing of this legend. I was always first and foremost a fan of Cream & so getting to record and play live with Ginger Baker is a very big part of my pro career. Ginger could be difficult, sure, but he was truly unique behind that drum kit.

PRONG: 'Age Of Defiance' EP Details Revealed

PRONG: 'Age Of Defiance' EP Details Revealed

PRONG will release a new EP, "Age Of Defiance", on November 29. The five-track effort, which was produced by Chris Collier, will include two new studio songs, the title cut and "End Of Sanity", along with live recordings of three tracks: "Rude Awakening", "Cut-Rate" and "Another Worldly Device". A single, "The End Of Sanity", will precede the EP on October 25.

The EP opens with the title song, "Age Of Defiance", which mainman Tommy Victor describes as "pretty unusual for PRONG. It's extremely powerful, with a great groove, haunting chorus, everything's fresh and contemporary." According to the PRONG mastermind, the second studio number, "End Of Sanity", is "a thrash/hardcore/crossover number in typical PRONG style which I wrote especially for our American tour with AGNOSTIC FRONT. If you're into PRONG, you'll love this track." "Age Of Defiance" also features three live cuts, recorded by Victor & co. during their major headlining tour at Berlin club Huxleys Neue Welt in April 2015: "Rude Awakening" from the same-named 1996 opus, plus "Another Worldly Device" and "Cut-Rate" from the 1994 major label album release "Cleansing". A total of five songs which forge an arc between past, present and future.

Track listing:

01. Age Of Defiance

02. End Of Sanity

03. Rude Awakening (live)

04. Another Worldly Device (live)

05. Cut-Rate (live)

Victor discussed the upcoming EP in an interview with France's Loud TV. Regarding his decision to only release two new songs this time, he said: "Look, in 2013, we put out 'Carved Into Stone', in 2014 'Runing Lives', in 2015 we put out 'Songs From The Black Hole' and we did 'No Absolutes'. Then I did 'Zero Days' in 2017. And then after that, we had some live stuff we did, and then after that, I went in and I wrote a whole shitload of songs. And I was, like, 'I don't wanna put all of these out.' We put out so many records."

He continued: "I don't wanna sound negative too much, but for the most part, no one gave a fuck. You make all these records, these new records, and essentially people wanna hear 'Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck'. And I liked doing those records, but I got burnt out of these long albums. So I wrote a bunch of songs, but I'm just gonna pick two out of that and put those out. Why put out a whole another album full of material and people don't even listen to the shit — they don't listen to the whole record. So this thing may do really well. It's, like, 'Two PRONG songs. Cool. I don't wanna listen to any more than that anyhow.' And then we have a live 'Rude Awakening', 'Cut-Rate' and 'Another Worldly Device' on it. So we'll see how it works out. But it's been fun so far for me, because I haven't been overworked with it.

"Making 'Zero Days' was — that was a major project, that album," he added. "There wasn't a lot of time to make it, and it was a lot of work. I was working seven days a week, sleeping four hours, trying to come up with lyrics. I think the lyrics are great on the record, because I was figuring out what the hell was going on with the song and trying to do the lyrics and making everything so perfect. And I get a little disillusioned because nobody cares. Of all the lyrics I wrote, maybe a couple of people were, like, 'What was the topic of that? What were you saying with that? That's an interesting lyric.' I've had very few conversations about it. And it wasn't released right — the record label didn't do a great job with it — so I was very disappointed with the whole outcome of that. So now it's two songs, [three] live [tracks], and then a full-length album later."

Asked about the lyrical themes of the two new songs that will be included on the "Age Of Defiance" EP, Tommy said: "'Age Of Defiance' is [about how] people feel like they've gotta be rebels, and that's nothing new to that. You have to find a way to find your own peace and to be calm and not violent. It's really an anti-violence song. People say, 'Oh, 'Age Of Defiance', it sounds like it's a rebel, a revolution song,' but it's just the opposite — it's sort of, like, 'I don't even care. I wanna be happy myself.' And 'The End Of Sanity' is the other one. It's kind of self-explanatory. I just feel like the world is going crazy. The shit that people say and the whole thing doesn't make any sense anymore to me.

"I watch the news and everything," he explained. "You have better news in Europe. But you don't get a big, broad picture of America neither. You get CNN, and that's one view of everything. But in America, there's one view and then there's another view and the other thing, and they're all just advertisements for each side. It's bullshit. It's not news. So you don't really get any news anymore. They're TV shows."

Earlier on Saturday, Leclercq tweeted: "First show with @kreator in a few hours. It's a very important day for me, my career, but also for the band and for the fans. A new chapter is about to start!"

After the concert, he wrote: "Fuck yes!! Awesome first show with @kreator ! This is where I belong. Muchas gracias Chile!"

Before joining KREATOR, Leclercq rose to fame with U.K.-based extreme power metallers DRAGONFORCE for whom he handled bass duties from 2005 until this past August.

When his addition to KREATOR was first announced last month, Leclercq said: "Joining KREATOR is an honor as well as a huge step up in my musical journey. I've been friends with Mille for over 15 years and a lifelong KREATOR fan. I have to pinch myself every day to believe that I'm now a part of one of the best and most influential bands in the genre. I look forward to the many adventures ahead and getting well acquainted with the legendary KREATOR Hordes!"

Added Mille Petrozza, KREATOR's singer and guitarist: "Firstly, we would like to say thank you to Speesy for his time in KREATOR over the last 25 years. We have accomplished so much, and I sincerely wish him the best in his future! A new chapter for KREATOR beckons; Bienvenu Frédéric Leclercq! Fred represents a new focus and hunger within KREATOR and we're extremely excited to have him a part of the KREATOR family. Not only is he an exceptional musician but a great human being which made the decision to have him join the band very easy! We begin in Chile and continue on to some explosive years ahead!"

KREATOR recently announced the "State Of Unrest" European co-headlining tour with LAMB OF GOD, which will mark Leclercq's first tour as the band's new bass player.

KREATOR released its most recent album, "Gods Of Violence", in early 2017, marking the band's highest charting effort worldwide. Since then the group has been touring the globe relentlessly.

ARTILLERY's Founding Guitarist MORTEN STÜTZER Dead At 57

ARTILLERY's Founding Guitarist MORTEN STÜTZER Dead At 57

Morten Stützer, guitarist and founding member of Danish thrash metal veterans ARTILLERY, has died. He was only 57 years old.

The surviving members of the band broke the news of Morten's passing in a Facebook post earlier today. They wrote: "Dear loyal friends and fans, it is with a heavy heart, a great deal of shock and a lot of disbelief that we have inform you that founding member, friend and brother Morten Stützer, no longer is with us. He passed away at the way-too-early age of 57 on the evening of October 2nd. He was surrounded by his family.

"We are absolutely devastated. Morten's contributions to the band has been invaluable. Besides his incredible musicianship, Morten's knowledge on so many aspects of life as well as his witty way of being will be so sorely missed. One thing that is not to forgotten however, is the legacy that Morten has left behind in this world.

"Morten's contributions and work in music has brought so much joy and entertainment to so many people throughout the world — and will continue to do so for generations to come. In this fact, we find a great deal of comfort.

"Needless to say, this will NOT be the end of ARTILLERY. In Morten's spirit, and as an ode to Morten, ARTILLERY will soldier on.

"Morten will be missed, but never forgotten.

"Goodbye, Morten."

ARTILLERY singer Michael Bastholm Dahl told The Metal Voice that "Morton's health had been declining for quite a few years. That's why he wasn't out touring with us," he explained (see video below). "He did the odd gig once in a while and showed up at the gigs as well so he could say hi, but physically, he didn't feel like it. He had all sorts of ailments — he had a heart defibrillator installed too. He was in danger of having blood clots, so he had some blood thinner medicine too. I think that when he found out — I think it was last Tuesday — [that] all of a sudden, he couldn't see on one of his eyes. And that was something that he had been struggling with before. That was also one of the reasons why he disliked playing live at the end, because couldn't really see the guitar properly. So he was rushed to the hospital, but at that time, apparently, it seemed like too much time had passed by. I know that it went pretty quick from there on."

Back in the 1980s, ARTILLERY was one of the biggest European thrash sensations on the scene, characterized by intense, energetic riffing and unique vocals of Flemming Ronsdorf. Their debut album, "Fear Of Tomorrow" and the follow-up, "Terror Squad", have gained a legendary status, becoming some of the most thrilling thrash releases of the late '80s period. In 1999, ARTILLERY reformed and released "B.A.C.K.", produced by Andy Sneap, which was hailed immediately as a return to form.

ARTILLERY's most recent album, "The Face Of Fear", came out in 2018.

Dear loyal friends and fans

It is with a heavy heart, a great deal of shock and a lot of disbelief that we have inform...

METALLICA: Countdown Clock On Mysterious Web Site To Hit Zero On Thursday

METALLICA: Countdown Clock On Mysterious Web Site To Hit Zero On Thursday

METALLICA's social media has been updated with a link to the Metallicaxx.com web site featuring a countdown clock that is scheduled to hit zero Thursday (October 10) at 12:00 p.m. PT. Although no official information has been made available, fans are speculating that the band is preparing to announce some kind of a release related to the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the original "S&M" concerts, which saw METALLICA joining forces with the San Francisco Symphony at the Berkeley Community Theater in 1999.

To mark the 20th anniversary of METALLICA's first performance with the symphony, which resulted in the live album "S&M" (Symphony & Metallica), the band re-teamed with the San Francisco Symphony in early September for two shows for the grand opening of Chase Center, the new home of the Golden State Warriors.

A film of last month's concerts, called "S&M²" and conducted by Edwin Outwater with a special appearance by Michael Tilson Thomas, will arrive in theaters worldwide on October 9.

The shows each drew 16,000 fans and saw the four members of METALLICA playing on a circular, revolving stage in the center of the arena floor, surrounded by 75 members of the Symphony and Outwater.

The three-hour concerts were split into two parts and included a rendition of "Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth)" from METALLICA's debut album, "Kill 'Em All", performed as a solo by the Symphony bassist Scott Pingel in tribute to METALLICA's late bassist Cliff Burton.

The original "S&M" concerts were conducted by the late Michael Kamen.

MACHINE HEAD Kicks Off 'Burn My Eyes' 25th-Anniversary Tour In Freiburg, Germany (Video)

MACHINE HEAD Kicks Off 'Burn My Eyes' 25th-Anniversary Tour In Freiburg, Germany (Video)

MACHINE HEAD kicked off the first leg of its 25th-anniversary tour for the band's classic debut, "Burn My Eyes", Saturday night (October 5) in Freiburg, Germany.

Building on the band's previous "An Evening With…" format, the "Burn My Eyes" anniversary show is described in a press release as "a three-hour musical extravaganza," comprised of two parts: part one consists of a battery of MACHINE HEAD's modern classics, such as "Imperium", "Halo" and "Locust", featuring guitarist/vocalist Robb Flynn and bassist Jared MacEachern performing alongside new recruits, Polish guitarist Wacław "Vogg" Kiełtyka (DECAPITATED) and British drummer Matt Alston (DEVILMENT, EASTERN FRONT); part two features "Burn My Eyes" played in its entirety for the first time ever, with original drummer Chris Kontos and guitarist Logan Mader joining in.

MACHINE HEAD's setlist for the Freiburg show was as follows:

01. Imperium

02. Take My Scars

03. Now We Die

04. Beautiful Mourning

05. Clenching The Fists Of Dissent

06. Locust

07. I Am Hell (Sonata In C#)

08. Aesthetics Of Hate

09. Darkness Within

10. Catharsis

11. From This Day

12. Ten Ton Hammer

13. Is There Anybody Out There?

14. Halo

15. Davidian

16. Old

17. A Thousand Lies

18. None But My Own

19. The Rage To Overcome

20. Death Church

21. A Nation On Fire

22. Blood For Blood

23. I'm Your God Now

24. Real Eyes, Realize, Real Lies

25. Block

Fan-filmed video footage can be seen below.

Prior to the tour's launch, Kiełtyka stated about his new gig: "It's a huge honor to be able to play at the same stage with the mighty MACHINE HEAD. I grew up on their music and when I heard I will join them on this tour, I was literally stoked!

"As a 13-year-old, I was learning songs from 'Burn My Eyes' who is still one of my favorite albums EVER, that album had also a big influence on my playing and my guitar skills.

"MACHINE HEAD is not just a band, it's an institution who has still a big influence on how all metal scene looks like, so for me as a musician and also a metal fan it's something special to be able to be a small part of it.

"That will be definitely a huge lesson and experience for me to be a part of such a professional team."

Alston commented: "I'm honored that I will be playing drums for MACHINE HEAD for the next world tour cycle alongside Chris Kontos on their 'Burn My Eyes' 25th-anniversary tour.

"It was a pleasure working for MH over last year's world tour, but now having the opportunity to be playing their songs is something I never would have imagined while growing up and listening to their music."

Flynn spoke to U.K.'s Kerrang! magazine about the decision to effectively split the set with new musicians playing the non-"Burn My Eyes" songs. He said: "As I was figuring it out with Logan, Chris and Jared, I explained that I can't even imagine playing a MACHINE HEAD show and not playing 'Halo'; 'Imperium'; 'Aesthetics Of Hate'; 'From This Day'; 'The Blood, The Sweat, The Tears…', 'Now We Die' — or even 'Catharsis'. 'Darkness Within' is a show-stopping moment, every time. We had to think about how we were going to pull this off. I wanted to honor Chris and Logan and not have them needing to learn 40 other fucking songs to be able to pull it off.

"It's kind of weird. We're gonna have a lot of motherfuckers on tour," he said. "But it's gonna be fucking awesome. I think it's gonna be a bit of a goddamn circus. I really want to pay tribute to the guys that were there and built it with me. I think it's gonna break the fucking Internet!"

Kontos left MACHINE HEAD before the release of the band's second album, 1997's "The More Things Change", and was replaced by Dave McClain.

Mader contributed to two MACHINE HEAD albums, the aforementioned "Burn My Eyes" and "The More Things Change", before exiting the group and being replaced by Ahrue Luster and, later on, Phil Demmel.

Demmel and McClain exited MACHINE HEAD last fall.

When he announced his departure from the band, Demmel, who first played with Flynn in VIO-LENCE in the late 1980s and early 1990s, said in a statement saying that it was "simply time" for him "to step away and do something else musically." He later revealed in an interview that he was minimally involved in the making of MACHINE HEAD's latest album, 2018's "Catharsis", a record that he said he hated. He also said that MACHINE HEAD gradually "became a Robb Flynn solo project, and that isn't what I signed up for."

This past June, McClain told "Robb's MetalWorks" that he no longer believed in MACHINE HEAD's songs and musical direction toward the end of his tenure with the band.

CARMINE APPICE Pays Tribute To CREAM Drum Legend GINGER BAKER - "His Influence Is Everywhere"

CARMINE APPICE Pays Tribute To CREAM Drum Legend GINGER BAKER - "His Influence Is Everywhere"

Legendary Cream drummer Ginger Baker - who was hospitalized in late September after his family said he was "critically il" - passed away on October 6th at the aaaaage of 80. Baker’s Facebook Page stated: “We are very sad to say that Ginger has passed away peacefully this morning. Thank you to everyone for your kind words to us all over the past weeks.”

Drum legend Carmine Appice (Vanilla Fudge), who pioneered hard rock drumming along with Baker, The Who’s Keith Moon and Jimi Hendrix’s Mitch Mitchell, paid tribute to Baker with the following message:

“When I got my double bass drums, I looked what Ginger did to get some ideas of what was possible. We did gigs and drum clinics together. He was always the wildest guy on the tour. We did have good times. Even though he was not out there playing of late, his influence is everywhere. God Bless, RIP, old friend.”

In 2013, Baker was diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. In 2016, he underwent open heart surgery. Baker is also said to be suffering from chronic back pain due to degenerative osteoarthritis.

According to The Guardian, Baker was born in 1939 in Lewisham, south London, and grew up amid the blitz; his father was killed in action in 1943. He began drumming in his mid-teens, remembering in 2009: “I’d never sat behind a kit before, but I sat down – and I could play! One of the musicians turned round and said, ‘Bloody hell, we’ve got a drummer’, and I thought, ‘Bloody hell, I’m a drummer!’”

Despite considerable friction between Baker and singer/bassist Jack Bruce, the pair in 1966 formed Cream with Eric Clapton, who had previously played with the Yardbirds and John Mayall. Cream were arguably the first supergroup and precursor to heavy metal.

The band split in 1968 after releasing four groundbreaking records: Fresh Cream (1966), Disraeli Gears (1967), Wheels of Fire (1968) and Goodbye (1969). It was actually yesterday (October 5th) in 1968, that Cream began their long farewell tour.

A reunion in 2005 ended in animosity, with Baker and Bruce shouting at each other on stage in New York. In 1969, Baker and Clapton formed the short-lived band Blind Faith with Steve Winwood and Ric Grech, and the latter pair joined Baker in his next project, jazz-rock band Ginger Baker’s Air Force.

In 1992 Baker played with the hard rock group Masters of Reality with bassist Googe and singer/guitarist Chris Goss on the album Sunrise on the Sufferbus.

His autobiography Hellraiser was published in 2009 and in 2014 Baker signed with Motéma Music to release his final album Why?

NILE Premiers "Vile Nilotic Rites" Lyric Video

NILE Premiers "Vile Nilotic Rites" Lyric Video

Technical death metal Egyptologists, Nile, have released a lyric video for the second single and title track of their ninth album, Vile Nilotic Rites, to be released on November 1 via Nuclear Blast.

Karl Sanders comments, "'Vile Nilotic Rites' was a depraved yet fun song to write and record. Now that we are playing it live on tour, we are for sure enjoying sharing the song onstage with metal fans. Vile is a catchy track with a lot of variety in the tempo; from crushing heavy, to irresistible mid-paced groove, to uptempo blasting. It also has a creeping, heavy evil vibe yet with just the right amount of technicality to be an undeniably fun blast to play. The lyrics are some of my favorite on the album as are the vocal performances, par excellence from Brian and Brad, as well as some extremely brutal yet tasteful and enjoyable drum work from George. Vile was one of the first songs written for this album so we have certainly impatiently waited a long time to be able to bring this track to metal fans.”

Vile Nilotic Rites was recorded and produced by Karl Sanders at Serpent Headed Studios in Greenville, South Carolina with the exception of the drums which were recorded at Esoteron Music Studios in Athens, Greece with engineering handled by Jim Touras and George Dovolos. The album was mixed and mastered by Mark Lewis at MRL Studios. For the album artwork, the band returned to artist Michal "Xaay" Loranc who has worked with the band for over 10 years.

Vile Nilotic Rites will be available in the following formats:

Karl Sanders comments, "The band is very much looking forward to the upcoming Nile/Terrorizer USA Tour in November 2019. We had a great time touring Europe together last year and I have no doubt that Nile and Terrorizer touring the states as a package will be a month long extravaganza of metal madness. All of us in Nile are also extremely fired up for this November USA tour as we will be playing several killer new songs from our newest record as well as classic Nile favorites from our back catalog. ANOXIA Release "Bite The Darkness” Music Video

ANOXIA Release "Bite The Darkness” Music Video

AnoxiA have released a video for "Bite The Darkness", featured on the band's new full-length album, To The Lions, out now via Mighty Music. Watch the clip below.

AnoxiA has spent the time since the release of their previous full-length, the critically acclaimed A Lapdance For The Devil, partially on the road and partially in rehearsal and the studio, crafting the nine songs that would eventually become To The Lions. The musical direction on To The Lions is old school heavy metal - melodic, yet hardhitting and thrashy at times. At times even a modern twist sneaks in. The songs are carved around strong riffing a wide array of vocal variation, supporting the musical landscapes.

To The Lions is in the natural vein of AnoxiA’s previous works, not deviating too much from the recognizable AnoxiA-formula of heavy metal. However, this time AnoxiA decided on a more direct and clear edge to the sound, allowing the songs to speak more for themselves. The musical direction bears references to the likes of Iron Maiden, Slayer, In Flames, and a lot of classic hard rock and ‘80s thrash.

Guitarist Claus S. Nielsen states: "This time our approach to the writing process was to create aggressive and raw, yet melodic and memorable heavy metal songs that first hit you between the eyes and then stick in your ears! That has indeed been a pleasant journey, however with many a fun detour along the way. ”

Vocalist and guitarist Lars Frederiksen elaborate: "We wanted to keep intact the AnoxiA trademark, but at the same time also to renew or refine our sound. By teaming up with our longtime friends, Ole W. Bertelsen (producing, recording, mixing)) and Simon Joergensen (drum recording) we gained a more direct and dynamic sound than the previous album. Adding Jacob Hansen at Hansen Studios, who in fact did some of our first demos in 2000, for mastering the album, gave the new album the last boost and we’re very satisfied with the sound.”

AnoxiA is a well-established act on the Danish underground live metal scene, their longevity dating back 20+ years. Hell bent on having fun during performance, AnoxiA approaches any gig fully charged, sincerely convinced that in order for the audience to enjoy, the band must enjoy.

Tracklisting:

"Origin Of Pain"

CRADLE OF FILTH Streaming “Lustmord And Wargasm (The Lick Of Carnivorous Winds)” Lyric Video From Upcoming Cruelty And The Beast Reissue

CRADLE OF FILTH Streaming “Lustmord And Wargasm (The Lick Of Carnivorous Winds)” Lyric Video From Upcoming Cruelty And The Beast Reissue

Originally released in May 1998, Cradle Of Filth’s heavy metal classic, Cruelty And The Beast is regarded as one of the milestones in the Gothic black metal genre. Now, 21 years later, this lustfully dark masterpiece has been wickedly remixed and remastered by Grindstone Studio’s Scott Atkins and will be reissued on November 1 through UK label Music For Nations. New lyric video for “Lustmord And Wargasm (The Lick Of Carnivorous Winds)” is streaming below.

Vocalist Dani Filth comments: “We chose this song as a first snifter of the beast, as it’s a perfect example of the ‘Re-mistressed’ rerelease. In truth we could’ve chosen any of the tracks from the album, but went with 'Lustmord And Wargasm (The Lick Of Carnivorous Winds)’ as it has everything dripping in spades; blast beats, luscious melodies, a massive epic dropdown section, eerie orchestration, hardcore riffs and a vicious bite that will rip your fucking face clean off.”

Dani Filth comments: “Released on the 5th of May, around the same time as we were arrested at the Vatican, ‘Cruelty.. and The Beast’ had been a painstaking labour of love, a year of intense writing amid ever growing popularity and distraction. The album’s concept of the Hungarian blood countess Elizabeth Bathory - both historically astute and fictionally correct - was to become a dangerous obsession of mine and one that saw many a first light of dawn working on the lyrics, hellbent on making the story worthy of her legend.”

Released on CD, transparent red vinyl and digitally, this elevated version of Cruelty And The Beast features new artwork from band illuminator Stuart Williamson, exclusive linear notes from Dani Filth and Cvlt Black Metal writer and documentarian, Dayal Patterson as well as a bonus track cover of Iron Maiden’s "Hallowed Be Thy Name".

Dayal adds: “Cruelty And The Beast has long been considered a milestone album in Cradle Of Filth's career, a combination of atmospheric storytelling and visceral, and surprisingly vicious, songs. This 21st anniversary edition has bolstered those songs with an added weight, improving the sound considerably with a warmer and punchier mix, making it a must hear for long-time fans and newcomers alike.”

75 limited edition test pressing vinyl versions will also be available, each coming with a personalized signed letter from the prince of darkness himself.

With singer Dani Filth fully committed to the collaboration and endorsement of both the new audio and artwork, the band will be working on promo and there will be a celebratory exclusive live show at London Palladium on October 19 where they will be performing the album in its entirety.

Dani concludes, “Cruelty And The Beast remains a phenomenally important album in the band’s back catalogue and one that I am exceptionally proud of, as I am exceptionally proud of this Re-Mistressed version, 21 years on from the original release. I hope the listener - sitting there by the flame-lit hearth with his/her walnut pipe on the go -  thoroughly enjoys this Cradle classic, so vividly brought back to life for the fickle world today.”

PINK FLOYD - "Instrumental Improvisations 1,2,3" Live In Paris, 1970; Rare Video Streaming

PINK FLOYD - "Instrumental Improvisations 1,2,3" Live In Paris, 1970; Rare Video Streaming

Below is rare video of Pink Floyd performing "Instrumental Improvisations 1,2,3", filmed live in the studio at Show Roland Petit Ballet in Paris, France on December 5, 1970.

On November 29, Pink Floyd Records will release Pink Floyd The Later Years, a 16-disc set (5xCDs, 6xBlu-Rays, 5xDVDs) covering the material created by David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright from 1987 onwards.

As the title suggests, this version of "High Hopes", included on The Later Years, is an early version of the song and features an electric guitar solo and slightly different lyrics:

The period generated record sales of over 40 million worldwide and included three studio albums: A Momentary Lapse Of Reason, The Division Bell and The Endless River as well as two live albums: Delicate Sound Of Thunder and Pulse. With additional production from David Gilmour and Andy Jackson, over 13 hours of unreleased audio and audiovisual material, including the sought-after 1989 Venice and 1990 Knebworth concerts, Pink Floyd The Later Years is a must for all fans.

A multi-media, deluxe box set, Pink Floyd The Later Years presents an expanded view of the Pink Floyd story from 1987 to the present and kicks off with A Momentary Lapse Of Reason, the album that confirmed Pink Floyd as one of the world’s biggest artists.

The album, presented for the first time in 5.1, has been remixed and updated by David Gilmour and Andy Jackson. The release of The Later Years project gives an opportunity for a fresh overview of the A Momentary Lapse Of Reason album. By returning to some of Richard Wright’s keyboard parts and recording new drum tracks with Nick Mason, producers David Gilmour and Bob Ezrin have restored the creative balance between the three Pink Floyd members.

Throughout 1987 and 1988 the band’s live shows became the largest-grossing concert tour ever to that date and produced the critically acclaimed, Grammy Award nominated, Delicate Sound Of Thunder. Filmed at the Nassau Coliseum in New York State, the concert shows the band on the top of their form. The concert has been fully re-edited and upgraded from the original 35mm film negatives by Aubrey ‘Po’ Powell and Benny Trickett and the sound remixed to 5.1. It also includes "Terminal Frost" and "Welcome To The Machine", two tracks that were not included on the original concert film release. For the first time the concert is available in 5.1 on Blu-ray and DVD.

Two of the most sought-after additions to Pink Floyd The Later Years are the 1989 Venice Concert, performed on a floating stage in front of St Mark’s Square, and the 1990 Silver Clef Winners performance at Knebworth. Both concerts, previously unreleased, are now available on both DVD and Blu-ray (145mins). The momentous Knebworth concert saw Pink Floyd topping the all-star bill (that included Paul McCartney, Dire Straits, Genesis, Phil Collins, Eric Clapton and Tears For Fears), in aid of the Nordoff Robbins charity, profits from which went towards setting up the BRIT School. David Gilmour and Andy Jackson have remixed the audio from this iconic concert and all seven tracks performed on the day (with guest musicians including sax player Candy Dulfer, the original The Great Gig In The Sky vocalist Clare Torry, keyboard player Michael Kamen and Sam Brown with her mother, Vicki, on vocals), are released here as well as for the first time ever on CD.

1994’s album The Division Bell sold over 12 million copies, having debuted at No 1 in the UK, the USA, Australia and New Zealand. It stayed at the top of the US charts for 4 weeks, and also went to No 1 in six other countries. The resulting tour was captured and recorded for the concert release Pulse. This release contains the entire Pulse live concert film, re-edited and upgraded from the original masters, from the groundbreaking Earl’s Court gigs, and available for the first time on Blu-ray. Also uncovered for the first time is footage of the band in rehearsals on October 20, 1994 performing "A Great Day For Freedom" and "Lost For Words".

In 2014, Pink Floyd released The Endless River, comprising mostly instrumental and ambient music based on material recorded during The Division Bell sessions. Featuring David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright, additional material was recorded in 2013 and 2014, with one song, "Louder Than Words", with lyrics by author & novelist Polly Samson (the primary lyricist for The Division Bell album). The Endless River became the most pre-ordered album of all time on Amazon UK and debuted at number one in several countries. The vinyl edition was the fastest-selling UK vinyl release since 1997. Included here for the first time is the never previously seen specially commissioned full 52-minute The Endless River film by Ian Emes, famed for his work with Pink Floyd, including his animations for "One Of These Days", "Speak To Me", "Time" and "On The Run".

Rounding off the package are hours of unreleased bonus materials including music videos, documentary footage, bonus live tracks, upgraded tour screen films and documentaries. It includes the first ever release, on Blu-ray, DVD and 7” vinyl, of the last live performance of Pink Floyd with David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright together in 2007. This special performance of Arnold Layne took place at the Syd Barrett Tribute Concert at The Barbican on 10 May 2007. The full set boasts previously unreleased or remixed audio, plus restored, remastered and re-edited audio-visuals including unreleased concert footage and promo clips.

With the help of Nick Mason and the Pink Floyd archive, the box set comes with reproductions of tour artwork, posters, programmes, tour laminates, lyric book and much more including two 7” vinyl singles, (the live version of "Arnold Layne" performed at the Syd Barrett Tribute Concert in 2007 and "Lost For Words" from the Pulse tour rehearsals at Earl’s Court), in new picture sleeves and etched image B-sides. Also included is a brand new 60-page hardback book of photos, designed by Aubrey Powell of Hipgnosis and Peter Curzon of StormStudios, including many previously unseen images.

The 5 CDs are encased in their own 40-page hardback book with an extensive guide to all content, tracklists and credits.

There will also be a 2-LP / 1-CD ‘Highlights’ package. It comes in a gatefold sleeve (for both 1-CD and 2-LP), and each will contain a 24-page booklet containing previously unseen and rare photos.

DARK FORTRESS Putting Finishing Touches On Eighth Studio Album; Stab Wounds Reissue Out Next Month; Remastered Version Of “Despise The ‘Living’’’ Streaming

DARK FORTRESS Putting Finishing Touches On Eighth Studio Album; Stab Wounds Reissue Out Next Month; Remastered Version Of “Despise The ‘Living’’’ Streaming

German black metallers, Dark Fortress, have announced that they are currently putting finishing touches to their eighth studio album.

Guitarist and producer V. Santura comments: “We have been working intensely on our new album over various sessions in the last couple of months. The title will be Spectres From The Old World. We decided to keep quite silent and vague about the process but now the recordings are basically completed. We have just finished recording all of the lead vocals with Morean on Monday, and only a few last details and two guitar solos are missing. Again, I am blown away by the power and versatility of Morean’s vocals. Spectres From The Old World will probably be perceived as less “progressive” than its two predecessors Venereal Dawn and Ylem, but it is more compact, super intense and I love the sheer power and dark energy it bursts forth.”

The album will be mixed and mastered in October and early November at Woodshed Studio in Germany and released worldwide via Century Media in late February 2020. More news will follow.

Furthermore, the classic third Dark Fortress album, Stab Wounds (2004), will be re-released via Century Media Records on November 22nd.

“I am more than excited that our third album Stab Wounds will finally be re-released. This has been long overdue since the album hasn’t been available for more than half a decade now, neither on CD or vinyl nor even on any digital platform such as Spotify. Stab Wounds has always maintained a huge significance for us as a band and I see it as the album that really defined the style and core of Dark Fortress’ sound for the first time. With the re-release of Stab Wounds and the previous re-releases of our first two albums in 2017, our whole discography is finally available again. Century Media did a great job in giving the re-release a classy and noble design and I am especially enthused about the remastering which makes this the ultimate release of Stab Wounds in my opinion.”

As a first taste for what is about to come the track “Despise The ‘Living’’’ is released today: “I was honestly a bit surprised that Century Media picked the song 'Despise The Living' as the first song to promote Stab Wounds. 'Despise The Living' hasn’t been part of our live repertoire for ages while we still play a bunch  of other songs of “Stab Wounds” quite regularly. 'Despise The ‘Living’’' feels like one of our “forgotten” songs to me, but I like the idea that it receives some attention again. On Stab Wounds all lyrics were written by our vocalist Azathoth at the time, but 'Despise The Living' was the first song that I ever composed entirely for Dark Fortress. I remember it was an incredibly hot summer day in 2002 which is quite the opposite to its very “icy” vibe, but it also displays quite some fire and enthusiasm.”

Check out the remastered version of “Despise The ‘Living’" below, or via Spotify.

Stab Wounds will be released as Gatefold 2LP, Limited Edition CD Digipak and digital album. Strictly limited silver vinyl (100 copies) and transparent blue (200 copies) are available at the Century Media Store, here.

Order/stream/download here.

ROB HALFORD 'Would Love' To Do A Duet With WILLIE NELSON: 'He's Like A God'

ROB HALFORD 'Would Love' To Do A Duet With WILLIE NELSON: 'He's Like A God'

JUDAS PRIEST singer Rob Halford took part in a question-and-answer session with Full Metal Jackie of the 95.5 KLOS radio station on Friday, October 4 from The Viper Room in West Hollywood, California. You can now watch the chat in three parts below.

Asked if there are any artists that he would like to collaborate with in the future, Halford — who is promoting his upcoming festive-themed LP "Celestial" — said: "There's a beautiful song on this album called 'Morning Star', and I kind of put that song together pretty quickly. I was in the kitchen of my house playing acoustic guitar and this song just started to happen. And as I was playing it, I could hear Willie Nelson in the background singing along with me. And I thought, 'How could would this be, for The Metal God and Willie Nelson to do kind of a duet?' And he's like a God, right? Willie Nelson is a God. And as luck would have it, Willie is on the same label as I am — Sony/Legacy. So we're trying to see if that could be a possibility. I mean, I would just be jaw on the floor; I'd be the total fanboy geek. You would have to give me an hour to get over the fact that Willie might be sitting there with a microphone. I would love that to happen — just because he's special, and I love Willie. I love what he does with his music; I love what he does for America; I love the way he supports the farmers and the very important people that put the food on our tables here. So he's iconic in many, many ways. So that would be great if that could happen."

"Celestial" will arrive on October 18 via Legacy Recordings. The disc is available for pre-order on Rob's artist store — with exclusive merchandise and a limited, autographed metallic-gold color version of the vinyl.

Credited to ROB HALFORD WITH FAMILY & FRIENDS, the album mixes holiday classics with all-new compositions, and will appeal to lovers of traditional holiday music and headbangers alike.

"Celestial" sees Halford joined by a supporting cast of those very close to him — his brother (Nigel) on drums, his nephew on bass (Alex, son of PRIEST bassist Ian Hill), has sister (Sue) on bells, and twin guitar tandem of Robert Jones and Jon Blakey. The album features standout originals like the album-opening title track, "Donner And Blitzen", and "Protected By The Light", as well as reworkings of such holiday standards as "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen", "Joy To The World" and "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing", among other standouts.

HALFORD's first holiday CD, "Halford III - Winter Songs", came out in 2009. The disc was a collection of new Halford-penned tracks plus traditional holiday favorites presented with original arrangements by HALFORD (Rob Halford on vocals, Roy Z. on guitar, Metal Mike Chlasciak on guitar, Mike Davis on bass and Bobby Jarzombek on drums).

IRON MAIDEN's Trooper Beer Wins At 2019 Global Beer Masters

IRON MAIDEN's Trooper Beer Wins At 2019 Global Beer Masters

10 Robinsons’ beers were recognized amongst the best beers in the world at the 2019 Global Beer Masters, where beers were blind judged purely on taste by the finest palates in the world; a panel of beer experts, sommeliers and senior buyers. Beardo, Hopnik Citra IPA, Old Tom, Mojo, One Eye’d Jack, and Trooper (brewed in collaboration with Iron Maiden) all received Bronze medals while Unicorn Copper Ale (first brewed in 1896), Kettlehead Choc Stout, Light Brigade (brewed with Iron Maiden and Help for Heroes), and Mashout Pale Ale all scooped silver.

The 180-year-old brewers also performed well in the 2019 World Beer Awards; with Old Tom (first brewed in 1899) being crowned UK Country Winner (category Dark Beer, Barley Wine) alongside newcomer Beardo, UK Country Winner (category IPA, American Style) out of over 3,500 entries from more than 50 countries.

Martyn Weeks, Head Brewer for Robinsons, said: “We work hard to make sure our beers are as diverse as our customers. Whether visiting a pub or shopping at a supermarket, there’s a Robinsons beer for everyone and every occasion. From original recipe heritage brews that are more than 120 years old to spirited young beers that are new to the market, they all have one thing in common: quality. It’s a simple formula which has earned Robinsons real ale recognition for almost 180 years.”

Adding to the 2019 trophy cabinet, Robinsons’ Old Tom and Trooper beer won prestigious awards in the 2019 International Beer Challenge, with Old Tom receiving bronze in the New World-Style Barley Wine category (7.5% and up), and Trooper silver in British-Style Pale Ales and Bitters (4.1-5%).

Old Tom also lapped up Gold at the 2019 BBI Awards in the class of Stout, Porter or Dark Ale ABV 7.5% or above while Hopnik Citra IPA received a Diploma from the British Bottlers Institute in the IPA ABV 4.0% – 5.4% class, with both beers credited for their exceptional design and beer quality.

Finally, Robinsons picked up 2 gongs at the Great Taste Awards 2019; the world’s most coveted food and drink awards. Out of nearly 13,000 products from over 100 different countries, Old Tom was awarded the prestigious 3-star Great Taste awardafter leaving “the judges speechless when they tasted it”, while it’s little brother Ginger Tom was highly praised for its “craftmanship” and received the impressive 2-star Great Taste award.

To celebrate each of the iconic Iron Maiden studio albums, Trooper and Robinsons Brewery have launched exclusive collector bottle caps. Appearing on all Trooper beer from October, including limited edition Halloween inspired Day Of The Dead bottles, the unique bottle caps commemorate every record from Iron Maiden’s self-titled album, released in 1980 until 2015’s award-winning and #1 album, The Book Of Souls.

Around for a limited time only, two million of the collectable bottle caps will be available globally wherever Trooper beer in bottle is sold - but fans will have to be quick off the mark, as some cap designs are more difficult to find than others.

Collectors can also buy an exclusive collector frame from Robinson’s Brewery to showcase their bottle caps. The launch of the limited edition bottle caps coincide with Iron Maiden’s ongoing Legacy Of The Beast Tour and the recently released studio collection.

Sam Kennerley, Trooper Brand Manager, said: “Iron Maiden and Trooper fans are some of the most dedicated and passionate in the world, so we wanted to create something completely new and different for them. Iron Maiden is so iconic and distinctive, and creating the bottle caps is just one of the ways we wanted to celebrate the band and its amazing artwork.”

KONVENT Copenhagen Death Doom Unit Reveal Debut Album Details; "Puritan Masochism" Music Video Streaming

KONVENT Copenhagen Death Doom Unit Reveal Debut Album Details; "Puritan Masochism" Music Video Streaming

Could Copenhagen become the new death doom capital? If so, one of the main reasons would be Konvent.

Founded in 2015, the collective stoically trudges through the blackest mires - following in the footsteps of Mythic, Paradise Lost, Skepticism and Winter, who all unleashed the bleakest horror on mankind in the early 90s. Rikke Emilie List`s guttural vocals and tenacious riffing combined with menacingly heavy production make the debut by these four Danish women a massive, extreme metal highlight of early 2020 - and it wouldn`t come as a surprise if their upcoming album, Puritan Masochism, conjures up a deserved revival for the whole death doom genre.

Set for release on January 24 via Napalm Records, today Konvent are serving up a brutal appetizer with their first single and music video for the album title track, “Puritan Masochism”. Watch below.

“'Puritan Masochism' was the first song written for our debut album,” the band explains. “It’s about how humans have the tendency of working against ourselves, negatively comparing ourselves to others and setting unattainable goals, sometimes without even realizing it.”

Konvent continue: “Our debut album, Puritan Masochism, is the result of two years of hard work. During the process of the songwriting, we were inspired musically by both death, black and doom metal, as we aimed to give this album a broader sound than our demo back in 2017. The lyrics are inspired by the fight of regaining control when surrounded by chaos of different forms, which everyone may be affected by at some point in your life.”

Following their 2017 demo and highly acclaimed festival appearances at such as Aalborg Metal Festival, Metal Magic Festival and Copenhell Freezes Over in 2018, Konvent not only inked a worldwide deal with Napalm Records, but their mesmerizing mix of death and doom also led them to the big Danish stages, when they played both Copenhell and Roskilde Festival. While rapidly stepping out as one of Europe's best kept death and doom secrets, 2020 will finally see Konvent release their hotly anticipated debut album, Puritan Masochism, which was recorded live in Lasse Ballade’s studio in Copenhagen over a period of two weeks.

Coming January 24 via LP, CD and digital formats through Napalm Records, the pre-sale has just begun, here.

In the video we see the rock star 'devil' inviting the ordinary man into a universe of control and craziness, with pink crosses, pythons and motorcycles... ‘Crazy got nothing on me!’”

With more than 250 live shows and a rock solid print in the European rock world, Lucer has made a substantial impact on the Danish and international rock scene. Among other things, the collaboration with Danish rock ‘n’ roll legend Mike Tramp have helped the band in the right direction.

It is on the big stages Lucer have gotten a reputation, being an explosive and energetic live band, delivering amazing experiences every time. With a brand new sound, the band has set its mind on living up to the reputation, being the most promising rock band from Denmark in more than 10 years.

In spring 2017, Lucer starred in a big countrywide beer commercial for Danish brand “Royal Beer”, the single “Midnight Sun” was the soundtrack for the entire campaign.

On top of this, the Danish metal guru Tue Madsen has finalized the mixes, giving the album a unique combination of rock with a modern and massive sound – along with catchy songwriting, and pop elements.

EXHORDER Infiltrates Worldwide Charts With Mourn The Southern Skies

EXHORDER Infiltrates Worldwide Charts With Mourn The Southern Skies

Thrash metal band Exhorder have returned with their first new album in nearly three decades, Mourn The Southern Skies, and fans around the world have responded! The band’s third album has infiltrated charts, earning them Top 100 entries in the U.S.A., UK, Germany and Switzerland.

Led by singles “Hallowed Sound” and “My Time”, Mourn The Southern Skies picks up where the band left off 27 years ago, and grabs hold of listeners with its crushing riffs and pummeling rhythm. It’s a testament to the band’s relevance in today’s metal scene, and the legacy of influential thrash and groove sound they helped create.

Exhorder’s enduring legacy began in the mid-'80s when they defined the sound of Louisiana thrash and groove metal. Their initial formation was short lived, lasting nearly a decade with two critically acclaimed, classic albums, but their impact on the metal genre can be felt through a generation of bands that followed. Exhorder dissolved in the mid-'90s, but briefly reunited in 2011.

Now, the band has returned to reclaim their throne of NOLA metal with their new album and an all-star line-up that includes Kyle Thomas (founding vocalist; Trouble, Heavy As Texas), Vinnie La Bella (founding guitarist), Marzi Montazeri (guitarist; ex-Superjoint Ritual, ex-Phil Anselmo & The Illegals, Heavy As Texas), Jason VieBrooks (bassist since 2011; Heathen, Grip Inc.) and Sasha Horn (drummer; Forbidden).

Watch VINCE NEIL Perform MÖTLEY CRÜE Classics In Englewood, New Jersey

Watch VINCE NEIL Perform MÖTLEY CRÜE Classics In Englewood, New Jersey

Fan-filmed video footage of Vince Neil's October 3 performance at Bergen Performing Arts Center in Englewood, New Jersey can be seen below (courtesy of YouTube user "asaf barlev").

Neil is continuing to tour the world with his backing group, which includes Dana Strum and Jeff Blando from SLAUGHTER, along with drummer Zoltan Chaney.

Speaking to "Trunk Nation", Vince acknowledged that he is currently the only member of MÖTLEY CRÜE who is waving the flag for the band's music by performing CRÜE songs as a solo artist.

"It's a cool thing, because I love MÖTLEY CRÜE, I love MÖTLEY CRÜE's music, and I love singing, and I love the fans' reactions when they hear the songs," he said. "Whether we're playing in front of a thousand people or twenty thousand people, I can only see the front row anyway. So I'm happy for me and for the fans to be able to still hear that music after MÖTLEY CRÜE is finished."

The film adaptation of MÖTLEY CRÜE's biography, "The Dirt", was released on March 22. The movie, which was helmed by "Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa" director Jeff Tremaine, was picked up by Netflix after being previously developed at Focus Features and before that at Paramount.

Last year, MÖTLEY CRÜE recorded four new songs for "The Dirt" movie, including the single "The Dirt (Est. 1981) (Feat. Machine Gun Kelly)", "Ride With The Devil", "Crash And Burn" and the band's own spin on Madonna's "Like A Virgin".

Watch Original FOREIGNER Members Reunite On Stage In Atlantic City

Watch Original FOREIGNER Members Reunite On Stage In Atlantic City

Several original FOREIGNER members joined guitarist Mick Jones and the current lineup of FOREIGNER on stage last night (Friday, October 4) as part of the "Double Vision: Then & Now" concert at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City in Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena. Drummer Dennis Elliott, keyboardist Al Greenwood, bassist Rick Wills and guitarist/saxophonist Ian McDonald played five songs with musicians from FOREIGNER's current incarnation: "Feels Like The First Time", "Blue Morning, Blue Day", "Long, Long Way From Home", "Dirty White Boy" and "I Want To Know What Love Is".

Singer Lou Gramm, who was originally scheduled to appear at the gig, was hospitalized last week at the Unity Hospital at Park Ridge in Rochester, New York with a severe respiratory infection, dehydration and fatigue. He hoped to be ready to appear during the FOREIGNER "Double Vision: Then & Now" tour and some scheduled shows with ASIA. Unfortunately, at his follow-up appointment, his doctor pronounced him unable to perform at these shows.

Gramm stated: "I'm very disappointed about not being able to perform at the FOREIGNER 'Double Vision: Then & Now' shows for all the fans. My doctor insists if I pushed myself to perform, I would be in big trouble. So doctor's orders, I ride the bench. Rock on!"

Jones expressed: "We will all miss Lou at our upcoming shows and we join all his family, friends, and fans in wishing him a speedy recovery."

Last November's "Double Vision: Then And Now" concerts were held in Los Angeles, California; Rancho Mirage, California; Atlantic City, New Jersey; and Uncasville, Connecticut.

FOREIGNER's first-ever ticketed reunion concert featuring all original members took place in August 2018 at The Sturgis Buffalo Chip in Sturgis, South Dakota.

Gramm and Jones's June 2013 performance of "I Want To Know What Love Is" and "Juke Box Hero" at the Songwriters Hall Of Fame in New York City marked the first time the pair performed together in a decade after Gramm left FOREIGNER for a second time. Kelly Hansen has fronted the group since 2005. Jones is the sole remaining founding member in FOREIGNER's current lineup.

ANTHRAX Joined By TESTAMENT's CHUCK BILLY For 'Indians' Performance At ROCK IN RIO (Video)

ANTHRAX Joined By TESTAMENT's CHUCK BILLY For 'Indians' Performance At ROCK IN RIO (Video)

TESTAMENT frontman Chuck Billy joined ANTHRAX on stage Friday night (October 4) at the Rock In Rio festival in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil to perform the latter band's classic song "Indians". Professionally filmed video footage of his appearance can be seen below.

Billy recently confirmed to the WSOU radio station that TESTAMENT has completed work on the follow-up to 2016's "Brotherhood Of The Snake" album. A late winter/early spring 2020 release is expected.

TESTAMENT's new album was once again recorded with Juan Urteaga and mixed by veteran British producer — and current JUDAS PRIEST touring guitarist — Andy Sneap.

TESTAMENT, EXODUS and DEATH ANGEL will join forces for "The Bay Strikes Back 2020" European tour. The trek will kick off on February 6 in Copenhagen, Denmark and will hit 25 cities before concluding on March 11 in Hannover, Germany.

ANTHRAX is continuing to tour in support of its latest album, 2016's "For All Kings", which was called by some critics the band's strongest album to date. Its arrival followed a five-year period during which the group experienced a rebirth of sorts, beginning with ANTHRAX's inclusion on the 2010 "Big Four" tour with METALLICA, SLAYER and MEGADETH, and continuing with the 2011 release of comeback LP "Worship Music".
