Video Premiere: POWERMAN 5000's Footsteps And Voices'

Video Premiere: POWERMAN 5000's Footsteps And Voices'

POWERMAN 5000 has released the official music video for the song "Footsteps And Voices". The track is taken from the band's latest album, "New Wave", which was released in October 2017 via Pavement Entertainment.

POWERMAN 5000 vocalist Spider One told Artist Waves about the inspiration for "New Wave": "I wanted to make a record that I wasn't hearing in the rock world. I can't say I'm much of a fan of what I'm hearing these days. Rock has become pretty controlled. There is a very middle-of-the-road feeling I get from most bands and lyrically I hear a lot of generic sentiments. So, I guess, personally I was frustrated and inspired to do something that went against all that."

Regarding the overall sound of the follow-up to 2014's "Builders Of The Future", Spider One said: "We went a bit dirtier on this one. Ripped it up more than the last couple of records. One of the goals was to recreate the noise of the live show. Keep in the chaos."

Spider One told the Farmington Daily Times that "the most important ingredient" in the band's ascent in the early 1990s "was the absence of the Internet. And what I mean by that is how the Internet has changed music and monetized it. Nobody ever thinks about that, but what it did is, it killed the local sound. Before music was instantly available through downloads, musical sounds would germinate over the course of years in places like Seattle or Austin. Now, that's just been eliminated. If a band comes out with a unique sound, everybody copies it right away."

Video Premiere: JONATHAN DAVIS's 'Basic Needs'

Video Premiere: JONATHAN DAVIS's 'Basic Needs'

KORN frontman Jonathan Davis has released the official music video for the track "Basic Needs". The song is taken from his recently released "Black Labyrinth" solo album. The clip weaves an emotional story that perfectly accompanies the themes of the track.

Speaking about the latest single, Jonathan said: "'Basic Needs' is essentially as close as I get to writing a love song. It also gave me a chance to explore different instruments and styles of world music, and step outside of what may be considered 'the norm.' The two other videos I've released for this record have been telling a story in reverse. This video continues that pattern."

Davis first started assembling songs for the solo project in 2007, frequently writing and recording while on tour with KORN. Digging the material back out late last year, he dusted the tracks off for release 10 years after those initial studio sessions.

"I've been waiting 11 years for this to come out," he said. "It's really good to finish something which I started so long ago. It's something I'm really proud of. I've been very patient with it. It's been sat on my laptop for many years, so it feels really good to be able to finally release it, to talk about it and play it live."

he lead single from the album — "What It Is" — peaked at number 5 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart earlier this year and has garnered 3.1 million streams on Spotify and 6.6 million views on YouTube. Digging deeper into the track's meaning, Jonathan said: "No matter how hard you try to fight bad things in your life, life will be what it is. It's up to you to accept that, combat it, and move forward, or it's up to you to be in denial. Then, it becomes a thorn in your side until you finally deal with it. This is it. Just deal with it."

THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA Feat. SOILWORK, ARCH ENEMY Members: 'Can't Be That Bad' Video

THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA Feat. SOILWORK, ARCH ENEMY Members: 'Can't Be That Bad' Video

"Can't Be That Bad", the new video from the Swedish classic/progressive rock supergroup THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA — featuring members of SOILWORK and ARCH ENEMY — can be seen below. The song is taken from THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA's fourth studio album, "Sometimes The World Ain't Enough", which was released in June via Nuclear Blast. The disc was again produced by the bandmembers themselves and was recorded at Handsome Hard Music / Larsson Music Studio as well as Nordic Sound Lab in Skara, Sweden. Mixing duties were taken on by the band's guitarist/percussionist Sebastian Forslund and mastering was done by Thomas "Plec" Johansson at The Panic Room.

Just like 2017's "Amber Galactic", the LP features two different covers — one for the regular and the other for the limited edition.

The limited first-edition digipack CD, as well as the vinyl, includes an exclusive bonus track. The Japanese version also features an additional cut.

"Sometimes The World Ain't Enough" track listing:

1. This Time

02. Turn To Miami

03. Paralyzed

04. Sometimes The World Ain't Enough

05. Moments Of Thunder

06. Speedwagon

07. Lovers In The Rain

08. Can't Be That Bad

09. Pretty Thing Closing In

10. Barcelona

11. Winged And Serpentine

12. The Last Of The Independent Romantics

13. Marjorie (limited-edition digipack CD and vinyl bonus track)

14. Pacific Priestess (Japanese bonus track)

THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA said in a statement: "THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA returns with another chapter in their steaming space opera that began with 'Amber Galactic'.

"This time, the female space commanders want even more revenge than they already had, space is even more infinite, and the amount of champagne it takes to keep this navy afloat and adrift in the cosmos is probably illegal on most planets!

"Never looking back, THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA boldly goes where no man or woman has ever gone before, and with this album, they've taken another step in their quest to elevate classic rock from being a music genre to becoming an immersive whole-body transcendental experience!

"It's time to prepare yourself, because the riffs will be riffier, the vocals will be throatier, the synthesizers will envelop you, the AOR will be AOR-ier, the long songs will be longer, the short songs will be shorter, the bass will seduce you, the drums will destroy you, the groove will hypnotize and paralyze you. Can you handle it?"

THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA is:

Björn Strid - Vocals

Sharlee D'Angelo - Bass

David Andersson - Guitars

Richard Larsson - Keyboards

Jonas Källsbäck - Drums

Sebastian Forslund - Guitars, Percussion, Special FX

Anna-Mia Bonde - Backing Vocals

Anna Brygård - Backing Vocals

SLIPKNOT Unleashes Ferocious New Song And Video, 'All Out Life'

SLIPKNOT Unleashes Ferocious New Song And Video, 'All Out Life'

SLIPKNOT has released the official music video for a new song called "All Out Life". The track, which was premiered earlier today on "Zane Lowe's World Record" on Beats 1 on Apple Music, will appear on the band's upcoming follow-up to 2014's ".5: The Gray Chapter" album, due next year via Roadrunner. The clip, which was directed by the band's own M. Shawn Crahan, can be seen below.

SLIPKNOT singer Corey Taylor told host Zane Lowe about the lyrical inspiration for "All Out Life": "Everybody talks about toxic masculinity and toxic fandom these days. For me, it's more about this toxic idea that unless something came out 10 minutes ago, it's not any good, and that bothers me. It's, like, I love new music, but at the same time, don't turn your back on the music that's been. Don't turn your back on the people that worked to make a platform for you to have a platform in the first place, so for me, it's really about ... It's a rallying cry for everyone. It's about all of us getting together and saying, 'You know what? Let's not talk about old. Let's not talk about new. Let's talk about what is. Let's talk about what's good, what's real, and get behind that and start embracing things that matter because there's history there and not just because it's the next best thing.'"

Having hinted in the press about the aggressive nature of the music coming out of the studio, SLIPKNOT delivers "All Out Life" as a statement of intent. At a time when music and culture are becoming increasingly homogenized and the rough edges of creativity are purposely smoothed over, the aggression and message of "All Out Life" stands apart. Crahan elaborated on the track: "Right now is a very exciting time for SLIPKNOT. We've been working on new music for the last two years, and 'All Out Life', the song and the video, is just one of many concepts in the works. It's a fitting taste to get you to the next thing. Get ready for what's to come. We challenge you to All Out Life."

Taylor went on to call the new album "one of the darkest chapters in SLIPKNOT's history — it's that good. It's complicated, it's dark, it's heavy, it's melodic, it's fierce, it's angry and it's real, it's raw as hell and it's gonna be talking about a lot of things that people are going to need in their life right now."

ccording to Corey, SLIPKNOT has managed to come up with some of its strongest music to date this time around. "I've gotta give credit to Jim [Root, guitar], Clown [Shawn Crahan, percussion], Alex [Venturella, bass], Jay [Weinberg, drums] — all the guys, man. They... because obviously I've been doing my thing [with STONE SOUR], they got together and they just started writing some of the most incredible music that I've ever heard. I mean, it's so good and it was so inspiring to me that I just... I sat right down and wrote. I just... basically, first pass, wrote everything that I was feeling. We went ahead and we retracked and we were actually able to beat the demo, which for us is pretty gnarly, dude."

Corey said that he and his bandmates approached the making of the new SLIPKNOT with a newfound self-awareness. "What felt different was the amount of positivity that we all had in the room, man," he said. "It feels like the last couple years, we've all really been able to let go of a lot of negative energy, a lot of pessimistic energy, a lot of things that we were holding onto, maybe like that negative, selfish energy, that I had, that everybody in the band had, that was keeping us from coming back together.

"I'm kind of looking at the world through clearer eyes, but I'm also just now starting to make peace with the fact that there are dark pieces in my chapters that I've had to relinquish," he continued. "I've had to kind of let go of and be, like, 'Look, if it wasn't for all of these dark things happening to me, I wouldn't be the guy I am right now,' and so, this has made me have to deal with the fact that I am an addict. It made me deal with the fact that I'm in my 40s, and I've got kids, and I need to take care of them. It's allowed me to get out of my own way and enjoy life. You know, and get out of my own head and enjoy the things that I have. It doesn't mean that it's the death of desire or anything like that, but it's allowed me to really take advantage of the time that I have right now, and like the person who I am."

".5: The Gray Chapter" was released following a six-year hiatus during which founding SLIPKNOT bassist Paul Gray died and drummer Joey Jordison was dismissed.

".5: The Gray Chapter" sold around 132,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 1 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD arrived in stores in October 2014 via Roadrunner.

Gray died in 2010 from a drug overdose, while Jordison was let go in December 2013, just before SLIPKNOT began recording the last album.

KING DIAMOND: Trailer For Upcoming 'Songs For The Dead Live' DVD, Blu-Ray

KING DIAMOND: Trailer For Upcoming 'Songs For The Dead Live' DVD, Blu-Ray

The official trailer for KING DIAMOND's forthcoming DVD and Blu-ray, "Songs For The Dead Live", can be seen below. The set, which is expected in the coming months via Metal Blade, will contain two full KING DIAMOND shows, filmed on June 17, 2016 at Graspop Metal Meeting in Dessel, Belgium and November 25, 2015 at The Fillmore in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The massive, multi-camera Philadelphia shoot was directed by Denise Korycki, who has previously worked with CANNIBAL CORPSE and KILLSWITCH ENGAGE.

The "Abigail In Concert 2015" tour saw KING DIAMOND performing the classic 1987 album "Abigail" in its entirety.

KING DIAMOND's singer and namesake told Vanyaland in a 2015 interview that the idea to perform "Abigail" came about innocently enough. "It's not like some big thing came around," he said. "We planned on doing a headline tour and after we did Mayhem [Festival], we were, like, 'Do we do this and not do our headline tour?' And then it was, 'No fucking way'; we had to do our headline tour that we talked about doing. It was there I came up that it would be nice to do a very different set and that would be the right way to do it. We have never done it. And I know some people are writing in comments, 'Oh, I saw it back in 1987.' Well, you really didn't, because we never played all the songs in one go — never. Not even when the album first came out. It's become a thing that is really good seeing, and I don't think we ever did anything that was this awesome to watch. It's turned out to be amazing."

Asked what he thinks makes "Abigail" so enduring thirty years after its original release, King said: "It was the first concert we ever did. 'Fatal Portrait', half the album, say, was a mini-concert. But that was the first concert where we jumped in with both feet, you know? It had a heavy impact as such, and it was the first horror concert — ever. I don't know any other band that had a horror concert as an album. And no band still sounds like us, in my opinion. It's like the first time I ever heard BLACK SABBATH; I had never heard anything close to it — such a heavy band, that first album. But after you do the he second, the third, the fourth, the impact is less, even though the albums may be just as striking. That's how it is, so it has a lot to do with that, I'm sure."

b>KING DIAMOND in 2002 released an album called "Abigail II: The Revenge", which was said to feature a storyline that was the sequel to the original "Abigail" LP.

STRYPER To Record New Studio Album In 2019

STRYPER To Record New Studio Album In 2019

STRYPER frontman Michael Sweet has told Sleaze Roxx in a new interview that the band will record a new studio album in 2019. The guitarist/vocalist is also planning on issuing the follow-up to his 2016 solo album, "One Sided War". Other releases in the works include another collection of cover songs from bands that inspired STRYPER and helped to shape the band's sound and musical identity.

"We have some ideas for songs for the follow-up to 'The Covering'," Michael said. "I'd like to do some more [JUDAS] PRIEST, I like to do another BOSTON song, another [IRON] MAIDEN song, something from THIN LIZZY and maybe a STYX song. I'd like to do YESTERDAY & TODAY; they're now called Y&T. We used to do David Bowie. I'd love to cover something by David Bowie."

According to Michael, there will also be a new album of re-recorded versions of songs that originally appeared on STRYPER's earlier records. "We're one of those bands that will get to it, but it's just a matter of time until we make it happen," he said. "I'd love to record some more 'classic' songs with [new STRYPER bassist] Perry [Richardson] playing on them. It's just a matter of finding the time, but we have to do another 'The Covering' album and another re-record, with stuff from 'In God We Trust' and a couple things from 'Against The Law' and maybe even tap into stuff from 'Reborn' and 'Murder By Pride'."

Released in 2011, "The Covering" contained STRYPER's cover versions of classic songs from SCORPIONS, BLACK SABBATH, DEEP PURPLE, UFO and VAN HALEN, among others.

013's "Second Coming" featured re-recorded versions of STRYPER's earlier material as well as two new songs.

Formed 35 years ago, STRYPER is the first overtly Christian metal band to go mainstream. The group's name comes from Isaiah 53:5, which states: "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."

STRYPER's albums include "To Hell With The Devil", "Second Coming", "No More Hell To Pay", "Fallen" and the band's latest effort, "God Damn Evil".

ACE FREHLEY Rejoins KISS On Stage At 'KISS Kruise' (Video)

ACE FREHLEY Rejoins KISS On Stage At 'KISS Kruise' (Video)

Original KISS guitarist Ace Frehley rejoined his former bandmates on Wednesday during this year's "Kiss Kruise" to perform an acoustic set of KISS classics. Also appearing with them was former KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick.

The legendary rockers — Paul Stanley (vocals, guitar), Gene Simmons (bass, vocals), Tommy Thayer (guitar) and Eric Singer (drums) — are playing multiple shows during the eighth installment of their seagoing extravaganza, which embarked yesterday from Miami and will visit Key West, Florida, and Nassau in the Bahamas before returning to port on November 5.

Frehley, whose solo band is one of the artists performing on the cruise, took the stage during KISS's acoustic show on Wednesday and played four songs with the current KISS lineup: "2000 Man", "New York Groove", "Nothing' To Lose" and "Rock And Roll All Nite". Kulick, who is also one of the cruise's scheduled performers, joined in on acoustic guitar.

Last month, Ace told ABC Radio that the cruise could possibly feature one or more reunion performances with his former bandmates. "Anything can happen on this cruise, and I think the fans are expecting something special," he said. "Either I might be invited onstage or I might invite Paul or Gene, or both of them. We'll see what happens…It's a 'Kiss Kruise' and the sky's the limit."

b>Frehley — whose new solo album, "Spaceman", was released last month via eOne on October 19 — first left KISS in 1982. He rejoined in 1996 and parted ways with the band once again in 2002 after the conclusion of their first "farewell tour."

Ace said that both times he left KISS were by choice. "I remember the first time I wanted to quit the band," he recalled during a "live conversation" on September 25 at Musicians Institute. "Gene called me up and goes, 'Ace, you don't have to leave the band if you want to do a solo record. You can still stay in KISS. We'll even take a break and let you do it.' They didn't want me to leave. They never wanted me to leave, and I quit the band twice. If you look at old interviews, sometimes they would lump me in with Peter and say, 'Yeah, we fired Peter and Ace.' They never fired me — I always quit. I want to make that clear."

"Mob Rules have been one of my favourite bands for many years and when we were putting the tour together with our booking agency, their brilliant new album Beast Reborn dropped and we also signed to the same Lucky Bob Music Agency. The omens were there and it just made perfect sense, as musically we are not too dissimilar and they haven't been to the UK in many years," says bassist Paul Logue.

Paul went onto add, "I had been hearing the name Degreed for a few years now, but never seen or heard them. Eventually I caught them opening for H.E.A.T last year and they were absolutely brilliant. We then followed them on the bill at MelodicRock Fest - Scandinavia in Sweden, earlier this summer, and I loved what I saw and kept them in mind as possible future touring partners. I'm really glad they accepted our offer. I think it makes it a brilliant package for the fans. Expect an evening of gigantic guitars, titanic choruses and fist pumping anthems!".

ANATHEMA Release Band-Curated "Best Of" Collection; "Internal Landscapes" Track Streaming

Anathema's new collection, Internal Landscapes (The Best Of The Kscope Years) is out now. Order here, and listen to the title track below.

“The band isn’t just a way of life, its been much more than that. To us, as a family, writing music of such honesty, and reaching people who feel it similarly, is as profound an expression of art and life as its possible to be. People have said to me it must be cathartic to write songs like this. I often say the real gift is in the people I do it with. For what we share and what we mean to each other when all is said and done.. The landscapes are internal.” -Daniel Cavanagh

This collection, curated by the band, selects the best works from their prolific output on the ground-breaking label Kscope since 2008. In this time the band left their heavier roots and transcended into emotional heaviness that resonated deep within the heart of the listener. It takes its name from the band's perhaps most heartfelt song, from their most popular album of the period, Weather Systems. Selected from the albums: Hindsight, We're Here Because We're Here, Falling Deeper, Weather Systems, Distant Satellites and The Optimist.

Tracklisting:

"Anathema"
"Untouchable - Part 1"

Watch KISS Perform 'Love Gun' On 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon'

Watch KISS Perform 'Love Gun' On 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon'

KISS was the musical guest on last night's episode of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon".

The iconic rock band, which will hit the road for a farewell tour early next year, performed "Love Gun" on Tuesday's broadcast.

Video of the performance can be seen below.

KISS announced that it will launch its final tour ever in 2019, appropriately named "End Of The Road". The initial announcement was made a month ago on NBC's "America's Got Talent", and earlier this week, the band revealed the first set of dates and cities in North America, produced by Live Nation. International markets were announced simultaneously.

he North American leg of "End Of The Road" will launch January 31 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada at Rogers Arena and will hit an additional 43 cities.

"This time out is far beyond what we have done before, not just because of technology. It is because the meaning of this tour is so, so great because we have been an indelible part of people’s lives, but guess what — people have been an indelible part of our lives," KISS frontman Paul Stanley told Billboard. "A thank you is in order, but also one last time to live up to what everybody says we have been and what we are."

"When we introduce ourselves for 45 years with you, [you] wanted the best, you got the best, the hottest band in the world. The bar is very high, maybe the highest. We're in competition only with ourselves," bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons added. "We don't wish any ill will to anybody else, but we're too busy being the most fabulous band on planet earth. Look at us. Just one look and you go, 'Wow.'"

VINNIE VINCENT Performs KISS's 'Lick It Up' With FOUR BY FATE (Video)

VINNIE VINCENT Performs KISS's 'Lick It Up' With FOUR BY FATE (Video)

Former KISS guitarist Vinnie Vincent joined FOUR BY FATE on stage last night (Tuesday, October 30) at the pre-Kiss Kruise party at the Hangar Nightclub in Miami, Florida to play the KISS classic "Lick It Up". Fan-filmed video footage of his performance can be seen below. FOUR BY FATE features members of FREHLEY'S COMET, CHEAP TRICK and SKID ROW.

As he did at this past weekend's Chiller Theatre event in Parsippany, New Jersey, Vincent donned a variation of the "Ankh Warrior" makeup for his FOUR BY FATE guest appearance.

The original "Ankh Warrior" ancient Egyptian motif was created by Paul Stanley, KISS's lead singer and rhythm guitarist. Vincent wore the makeup with KISS while on tour in support of the band's 1982 album "Creatures Of The Night", on which he played lead guitar on six songs prior to becoming an official member of the band. After that, he remained with KISS for one additional album, "Lick It Up" recorded in 1983, before being fired from the band for alleged unethical behavior.

Vincent was the last member of KISS to wear a unique makeup/costume configuration until he and the rest of KISS were first shown without the makeup during an interview on MTV in September 1983.

b>Vincent has made several public appearances this year after spending the past two decades out of the public eye. He recently addressed rumors about his gender identity but declined to answer the question directly, explaining that he wanted to keep a mystique about the subject. He also said that he hopes to complete his autobiography "within a year."

Vinnie's official comeback concerts will take place December 7 and December 8 in Memphis, Tennessee at the Theatre at Graceland. They will mark Vinnie's first full-blown return to the stage in over 30 years.

DREAM THEATER's New Album To Arrive In February

DREAM THEATER's New Album To Arrive In February

DREAM THEATER keyboardist Jordan Rudess has confirmed that the band's next album will arrive in late February 2019. He told Metal Wani in a new interview (hear audio below): "Right now, we're mixing it. It's being mixed as we speak. It sounds awesome. I'm so excited about it. There's a very, very strong energy around the band these days. We all feel very connected and excited about what's coming. We can't wait to unleash the whole thing on everybody. And that's all gonna happen really, really soon as well; it's just right around the corner."

DREAM THEATER's next studio album — its 14th — will be the band's first for Sony Music's progressive imprint InsideOut Music. The group spent the past 25 years recording under various labels in the Warner Music Group system, most recently Roadrunner Records, which released five albums by the band between 2007 and 2016.

Rudess recently told Lotsofmuzik that DREAM THEATER's follow-up to 2016's "The Astonishing", the wildly ambitious double concept LP which has been criticized by some fans for being an overblown, self-indulgent exercise in excess, would see him and his bandmates going "back to the roots, back to the core of the sound — screaming Hammond organ, killing leads, chunky riffs, slamming drums, and everybody will be there moshing! [Laughs]"

Rudess went on to describe the songwriting process for DREAM THEATER's upcoming album as "definitely very collaborative. We basically hid away in a secret location, we found an old barn turned into studio and set aside a couple of months to do everything. We were very constructive, very energized, had a great time together, a lot of laughs. We cooked together, joked around, but in general, we had an uninterrupted musical experience together, which was very productive."

b>DREAM THEATER guitarist John Petrucci previously hinted that the band's next disc would be musically inspired by the "Images, Words & Beyond" tour, which saw the pioneering group celebrating the 25th anniversary of its milestone RIAA-gold-certified album "Images And Words".

KOBRA AND THE LOTUS - "Let Me Love You" Live Video From European Tour 2018 Posted

An update from Kobra And The Lotus, from their tour through Europe with the Butcher Babies:

"Here's a quick vid our buddy, Jimmy, put together while we were in Europe for the Female Metal Voices Tour 2018 with Butcher Babies, Skarlett Riot, Ignea, Martyrium, and Asphodelia. We had an absolute blast touring together! Thanks to everyone for the amazing times!"

Kobra And The Lotus recently posted a live acoustic performance of the song "You Don't Know", taken from their Prevail I album:

"We wrote most of the double album Prevail off the studio floor, and we didn't know what would come. We had a large project board with about 23 spots for all the tracks we wanted, and as they came we entered the idea or wrote into it. 'You Dont Know' came out that way. You never know what will come when you commit the time and face the challenge head on."

WITCH CASKET Denies The Cross By Releasing "One Last Sothis Track"

WITCH CASKET Denies The Cross By Releasing "One Last Sothis Track"

Southern California blackened death metal outfit Witch Casket announced today the release of "one last Sothis track," as the band closes the last chapter on the previous project with which several of the members of Witch Casket were involved.

The track is a cover of Overkill's"Deny The Cross". Sothis was a symphonic black metal band active in the 2000s with one full length release through Candlelight Records in 2008 entitled De Oppresso Liber. The band signed with Candlelight in 2007 after achieving underground success with their self-released 4-track Demo in 2005. The band supported the album with a full North American tour alongside Absu in 2009. The band split up in early 2012 due to differences amongst members, after which three of the members regrouped and formed Witch Casket in 2013.

Vocalist Drogoth had this to say about the track release: "I was recently digging through some old files when I came across a recording we did of a cover of Overkill's 'Deny The Cross' back when we tracked the Sothis album De Oppresso Liber. A few of the members are huge Overkill fans, so we wanted to record that song to pay homage to our thrash metal roots. The original idea was to record a cover song with each album we produced, and then save them up and release them at a later date. We never got that far though, so the track has remained unreleased. Since that project is dead, and it's the 10-year anniversary of the album with which it was recorded, I thought it would be cool to release it as one final goodbye to that segment in our careers."

The track was recorded by the band in 2007, and was mixed by Andy LaRocque of King Diamond in Varberg, Sweden at Sonic Train Studios. It was mastered last week by guitarist Nylock. The song can be downloaded for free through Bandcamp, and streamed via the SoundCloud audio player below:

Earlier this month, Witch Casket released an EP entitled Punishment; a music video for the title track can be seen below.

"So It Goes"
"Punishment"
"Water"
"Spectres Of Misery"

PALACE Debuts "Binary Music" Music Video

PALACE Debuts "Binary Music" Music Video

Palace, the brainchild of Swedish musician Michael Palace, will release their second album, Binary Music, on December 7th. Order the album here, and watch a music video for the title track below.

Palace is a Swedish melodic rock band founded by lead singer and multi-instrumentalist Michael Palace. Heavily influenced by 80’s imagery and sounds, Palace delivers a massive melodic rock/AOR sound unlike you’ve ever heard before. With layers of keyboards, Palace deliver a heavier sound than most in the genre, with guitars a dominating feature. Swirling keyboards, layers of guitars, and fast moving 80’s themed melodic hard rock is what is on offer on Binary Music. After the very warm reception of the debut album, Master Of The Universe, Michael was very excited to get to work on the follow up and face the challenges that came with it.

”I wanted to make an album that will give the fans even more of what they enjoyed the last time around, all the while staying creative and not shying away from new musical ideas,” he says

Michael Palace began working with Frontiers as a songwriter and guitar player for First Signal (featuring Harry Hess of Harem Scarem fame), Cry Of Dawn (with Goran Edman), Kryptonite (featuring Jakob Samuel of The Poodles), and Toby Hitchcock. The successful collaborations led to a worldwide record deal with Frontiers for his own musical output. Then the subsequent success of Master Of The Universe opened up even more opportunities for Michael to grow as a musician outside of Palace, appearing on many releases as a guitar player, songwriter, and at times, producer.

Despite his young age, Michael Palace has accumulated a wealth of experience playing live and recording in the studio with several different acts in addition to the aforementioned acts and including Code Red, Jim Jidhed, Erika, Hank Erix, Find Me (Featuring Robbie LeBlanc) and Big Time to name a few.

”Since the release of the first album, I’ve had the chance to be involved in a lot of cool musical projects and made more music in two years than I’ve made in my whole life. It has been a fantastic learning experience and I’ve brought a lot of that new gained knowledge into the making of Binary Music. I produced the new album with the guidance from my good friend and mentor Daniel Flores (Find Me, First Signal, The Murder Of My Sweet), and I can’t wait to produce more albums in the future,” Michael explains.

Tracklisting:

"Binary Music"
"Tears Of Gaia"
"Nothing Personal"
"Promised Land"
"Love Songs"
"Dangerous Grounds"
"Queen Of The Prom"
"Who's Counting Time"
"Julia"

Watch KORN's JONATHAN DAVIS Perform In Corpus Christi

Watch KORN's JONATHAN DAVIS Perform In Corpus Christi

Fan-filmed video footage of KORN frontman Jonathan Davis's October 26 solo concert at Brewster Street Ice House in Corpus Christi, Texas can be seen below.

Davis is touring in support of his recently released "Black Labyrinth" solo album. He said about the disc: "This time, I'm pulling something out of the audience. I've bared my soul for so fucking long I thought it'd be really cool to pull listeners in a different direction for once. I'm taking them out of that dark place and into somewhere that's spiritual, positive, and makes them really think. It's just art. I've changed lives with KORN, but I wanted to open minds with this shit."

The lead single from the album — "What It Is" — peaked at number 5 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart earlier this year and has garnered 3.1 million streams on Spotify and 6.6 million views on YouTube.

The singer told Express & Star that he worked on "Black Labyrinth" for a long time before it finally saw the light of day. "I've been waiting 11 years for this to come out," he said. "It's really good to finish something which I started so long ago. It's something I'm really proud of. I've been very patient with it. It's been sat on my laptop for many years, so it feels really good to be able to finally release it, to talk about it and play it live.

There are two tracks on the album, 'Walk On By' and the bonus track, which were written in 2010 and recorded in January this year. But most of them were done years ago. I've re-done some of the vocals and updated a few bits."

Recorded earlier this year at Barnroom Studios, the disc is the first release from Bernie's new trio. The album also features a guest appearance from Bernie's former GILLAN bandmate Colin Towns.

Tormé is known for stepping in and saving the day for Ozzy when Randy Rhoads tragically died. Ozzy and Bernie hadn't seen each other since the early '80s (after Bernie left the band) before reconnecting this past summer at the Sweden Rock Festival. Tormé also toured the world as the lead axeman in GILLAN and formed DESPERADO with TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider and ex-IRON MAIDEN drummer Clive Burr, as well as fronting his own bands ELECTRIC GYPSIES and TORME (featuring Phil Lewis of L.A. GUNS/GIRL fame).

A young Zakk Wylde witnessed Bernie playing with Ozzy at Madison Square Garden in New York City on the one of the very few dates Bernie did with Ozzy. Zakk called Bernie "his hero" and insisted on a selfie when they met at Sweden Rock.

Ozzy told Rolling Stone about meeting up with Bernie at Sweden Rock: "I haven't seen him for a fucking thousand years. Someone told me he was outside my dressing room. I went, 'No.' He said, 'I'll never forget the time I played with you, Ozzy. It was a lot of fun.' I couldn't remember what he looks like. It had been that long."

b>Tormé has recorded over 24 albums in his career to date as a solo artist or bandmember.

Bernie hits the road in the U.K. for the final time starting November 22.

ROXANNE Debuts Music Video For "Go F@#k Yourself" Track Featuring DUG PINNICK And GEORGE LYNCH

ROXANNE Debuts Music Video For "Go F@#k Yourself" Track Featuring DUG PINNICK And GEORGE LYNCH

Radio Silence, the sophomore release from the LA based rock band Roxanne, is out now via Rat Pak Records. A video for the album track "Go Fuck Yourself", which features special guest appearances by guitar legend George Lynch and King’s X frontman dUg Pinnick, can be found below.

Originally formed in the late '80s, Roxanne garnered commercial success with their 1988 self-titled debut album, which was well received with two songs charting on rock radio; “Cherry Bay” and “Sweet Maria”, as well as a cover of Wild Cherry’s “Play That Funky Music” which hit #63 on the Billboard singles charts and was in full rotation on both dance and rock stations simultaneously.

As with many bands from that era, facing the decline in interest for AOR rock due to the onslaught of the grunge scene, the guys in Roxanne went on hiatus. Now, 30 years later, the band returns with a new offering entitled Radio Silence, which features 11 tracks of pure adrenalized classic rock influenced music, and also features special guest appearances by guitar legend George Lynch, King’s X frontman dUg Pinnick and Korn drummer Ray Luzier.

Regarding the recording process, lead singer Jamie Brown comments, “We wanted to make a rock record that you’d want to crank in your car and drive fast with the windows down and I think we accomplished that!” Drummer Dave Landry adds, “We are all very proud of this album and are ecstatic the way it turned out... the songs, the tones and the performances. Recorded on two-inch analog, it sounds real, it is real, and truly represents the way our band sounds!”

With influences that range from Queen to Bad Company to Thin Lizzy, Radio Silence is best described as a perfect blend of classic rock with a modern-day edge. The album was produced by Rich Mouser and Jamie Brown and recorded, mixed & mastered at The Mousehouse Studio in Los Angeles, CA

Roxanne's Radio Silence is available in various formats and bundle configurations including a limited print Red & Black Splatter vinyl pressing with an alternate track sequence, cassette and hand-autographed CD bundle which you can find at this location.

MAGNUM To Release 'Live At The Symphony Hall' In January

MAGNUM To Release 'Live At The Symphony Hall' In January

Influential British melodic hard rockers MAGNUM will release a new live album, "Live At The Symphony Hall", on January 18, 2019 through SPV/Steamhammer as a 2CD digipak, 3LP gatefold, download and stream.

Every music lover knows that the closing concert of a long tour is always a very special event. For weeks in advance the audience has been able to read up on how much the band has been celebrated in their previous concerts evening after evening and they are all the more excited to see their heroes with their own eyes. After having played those numerous concerts, the band is in excellent shape, perfectly attuned to one another and of course they want to outdo themselves with this final show. One of those tour finales took place on April 19, 2018 inside Birmingham's Symphony Hall. It was there that the MAGNUM completed its "Road To Eternity" tour, which consisted of 42 concerts, and performed at the highest level.

"A truly magical evening," guitarist Tony Clarkin confirms, "especially seeing as the show was a sort of home game for us, since all of us are from around the area between Birmingham and Wolverhampton, although during the last 20 years we have performed in Birmingham only once. In this respect it was a special moment for MAGNUM in more than one way." Clarkin, vocalist Bob Catley, bassist Al Barrow as well as their two newest members, keyboardist Rick Benton and drummer Lee Morris, confidently played their way through a well-chosen mix of classics and newer songs, which rather successfully join the ranks of the band's long tradition of atmospheric rock songs. Star guest Tobias Sammet (AVANTASIA, EDGUY), too, was swept along by this enthusiasm and the blazing interaction between the musicians and their Birmingham audience when he went on stage for "Lost On The Road To Eternity" to lend energetic support to vocalist Bob Catley, just like he did for the track's studio recording. "Lost On The Road To Eternity" will hit the market as a digital single on November 9.

All that's left to ask now is what makes "Live At The Symphony Hall" any different from former MAGNUM live recordings.

Bob and I have been in this band for quite a while now, but we've never lost our passion for MAGNUM," Clarkin elaborates. "We want to keep learning new things and are open to tips and advice. That's why we constantly revise our old songs, sometimes we play them a bit faster, sometimes a bit slower, we change a solo here and a part of the melody there. That way we not only keep our audience interested but also our own enjoyment in these pieces alive."
