EINHERJER: 'Mine Våpen Mine Ord' Video Released

EINHERJER: 'Mine Våpen Mine Ord' Video Released

"Mine Våpen Mine Ord", the new video from Viking metal veterans EINHERJER, can be seen below. The tack is taken from the band's ninth full-length album, titled "Norrøne Spor", which will be released on November 9.

EINHERJER has carried out its vision for more than two decades. The band was there when Norwegian extreme metal grew forth and took shape as an enormous cultural export.

EINHERJER's Norse heritage is a phenomenon that reaches far beyond what one can hear alone. It is an amalgamation of the mystique and sagas of old, of songs and poems, of woodcutting and sword grinding and the vikings merciless way of life. It's a cultural patchwork that fills the consciousness with the brutal majesty of the Nordic nature, the elemental strain, of mighty longships plowing the black seas to reach unknown shores. The wisdom of the gods and their Valhalla. Of cultural encounters and trade. Of violence and brutality. Of tough men in a tough time. Their hometown Haugesund also rings with historic sound, and from their own shores on the west coast of Norway the influence of the Vikings stretched towards the sea and the world beyond. The adventurers, pioneers, poets and craftsmen have inspired EINHERJER to go their own way. The Vikings' courage and boldness have inspired us to never compromise EINHERJER's vision, a vision that is a unique, self-made, original and modern interpretation of our mighty Nordic heritage.

EINHERJER vocalist and bassist Frode Glesnes commented: "Classic EINHERJER meets the future and the past. No, we have not returned to our roots. That's a way overused cliché and it always calls for bullshit. We have simply written and arranged more stuff together.

On our last few albums we have written songs separately; this time we've looked at what happens when Gerhard and me are in a room together.

"We still have a firm grip on what EINHERJER is all about. That will never change.

"Here is 10 new songs that any heathen metalhead should be able to love and appreciate. No bullshit, just 10 great metal songs."

Track listing:

01. The Spirit OF A Thousand Years

02. Mine Våpen Mine Ord

03. Fra Konge Te Narr

04. Kill The Flame

05. Mot Vest

06. Spre Vingene

07. The Blood Song

08. Døden Tar Ingen Fangar

09. Tapt Uskyld

10. Av Djupare Røtter

Gerhard Storesund - drums, samples

Aksel Herløe - guitar, backing vocals

GOROD: 'Bekhten's Curse' Video Released

GOROD: 'Bekhten's Curse' Video Released

"Bekhten's Curse", the new video from French technical metallers GOROD, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's latest album, "Aethra", which was released today (Friday, October 19) via Overpowered Records. The clip was produced by Disclosure Productions.

Vocalist Julien Deyres says: "Out of all of the songs on the album, these lyrics required the most research. I am not at all a specialist in Egyptian antiquity, but in doing my research on lunar deities, I discovered this extraordinary story about a so-called miraculous healing of Ramesses II's sister-in-law. This legend is engraved on a stela that is currently in the Louvre Museum and is a proven historical fake. In this song, I am playing the role of a Bekhten's city survivor, which was completely destroyed to restore a form of eventual reality... because way too often, popular legends such as this one were created to hide misdeeds by those who have the power and wish to be considered as heroes."

The 10th release from GOROD was produced and recorded by GOROD guitarist/mastermind Mathieu Pascal in his own Bud Studio, mixed at Dugout Studio by Daniel Bergstrand (MESHUGGAH, BEHEMOTH, DECAPITATED, IN FLAMES) and mastered by Lawrence Mackrory at Obey Mastering (DECAPITATED, NIGHTRAGE).

In comparison to GOROD's previous albums, the band sees "Aethra" as a profound progression in terms of production, songwriting and arrangements. Pascal says: "We decided that I would be in charge only for the recording in my studio, and chose Daniel Bergstrand for the mixing and mastering, as we love his work for decades. It puts some pressure on me, firstly because I'm used to working alone with the production of GOROD albums. The tracks should be clear and perfect enough to be easily understood and included into the mix the way I imagined. But also, because I still feel like a newbie compared to Bergstrand and I just didn't want to look like an amateur job! Bergstrand and McCrory did an awesome job on this album, the sound is powerful but still natural and balanced."

b>"Aethra" track listing:

01. Wolfsmond

02. Bekhten's Curse

03. Aethra

04. The Sentry

05. Hina

06. And The Moon Turned Black

07. Chandra And The Maiden

08. Goddess Of Dirt

09. Inexorable

10. A Light Unseen

With "Aethra", GOROD transports the listener to a tragic and melancholic universe — a completely new level of darkness — while preserving what GOROD considers their tried and true core sound: incomparable groove, remarkable dexterity, and relentless technicality. But all the while, the band never sacrifices earworm hooks and unforgettable riffage.

Deyres explains the concept behind "Aethra": "The moon: a star, an allegory, a universal symbol that concerns all peoples and eras... this is the central theme of the lyrical concept of this album which is divided into ten texts that follow a form of parity in terms of genres: four titles are devoted to female lunar deities, four to male deities. The remaining two are respectively dealing with the universal symbolism of the owl and the star itself.

"The concept is basically a study of different cults associated with the moon through the ages and peoples. Some themes are treated in a purely narrative way, some others in a more philosophical or poetic way, but generally it remains a personal reading of each myth, which aims to awaken critical thought as much as evasion."

Pascal adds: "The writing process was exceptionally short, only six weeks. I wanted more spontaneous and song-oriented music with clear and efficient structures. For the first time I tried to write the music always thinking stage-wise, always anticipating how every riff or lead would be perceived live, and, of course, how it could be performed."

As a live band through and through, GOROD plans to bring its trademark power and precision to North America on a full tour in support of "Aethra". Before coming to the states, GOROD will tour in Europe with headliners BEYOND CREATION, as well as fellow support acts ENTHEOS and BROUGHT BY PAIN.

GOROD is:

Julien "Nutz" Deyres: Vocals

Mathieu Pascal: Guitars

Ben "Barby" Claus: Bass

Nicolas Alberny: Guitars

Karol Diers: Drums

23. Making Of: Headbanger's Symphony

"This was a mash-up of intensity and precision," Wolf Hoffmann says about the fusion of heavy metal and classical music. "The fans are extremely open-minded, but I was nervous 'till the last minute before the show anyway. After all, it's still a metal festival! But I think that, after many years of ACCEPT combining both worlds, fans have started to really accept this concept."

After the Wacken performance, Hoffmann told TotalRock's Whitney Alyson Ribbins: "It was phenomenal. We didn't really know what to expect. We did some rehearsals and stuff, but that was the first time we were ever on stage with an orchestra. It was totally different to what we normally do, but it sounded fantastic and it felt great. Everybody was smiling, the orchestra people had a lot of fun, the conductor was in a great mood and everybody was, like, 'This is fun.' It all went really, really smooth and it couldn't have gone better."

He continued: "A lot of preparation went into it — months of talking about it and organizing everything and writing the scores and writing all the sheet music for everybody, because playing with an orchestra, you can't just jam."

Asked whether this was something he would like to do again, Wolf responded: "Yeah, I'd love to. For me, classical music... the sound of an orchestra is something that has always fascinated me. My whole life I have wanted to combine the two elements together. I've done it by using classical bits and pieces in my solos over the years, then I made a solo record, then I made a solo record with an orchestra and now finally live on stage with an orchestra like that, fifty people, it was a dream come true."

What started as a world premiere at Wacken will be continued in early 2019. ACCEPT is planning to tour with an orchestra across Europe in the spring of next year. "I really hope we will be able to fulfill our dream — we are working hard on it!" Hoffmann says. "What I can already say now is that there will be lots of optical and musical surprises that fans of ACCEPT have never experienced before. We want to multiply what we have achieved in Wacken and are happy about every bit of support we get. One thing is for sure: 2019 will be exciting!"

THE HEARD Feat. Ex-CRUCIFIED BARBARA, DEATHSTARS Members: 'A Death Supreme' Single Available

THE HEARD Feat. Ex-CRUCIFIED BARBARA, DEATHSTARS Members: 'A Death Supreme' Single Available

THE HEARD, the new Swedish rock band featuring former CRUCIFIED BARBARA guitarist Klara "Force" Rönnqvist Fors, bassist Ida "Evileye" Stenbacka and drummer Nikki Wicked (a.k.a. Jannicke Lindström) alongside DEATHSTARS bassist Jonas "Skinny Disco" Kangur (on lead guitar) and burlesque performer, model and singer Pepper Potemkin, has released a new single, "A Death Supreme". The song is taken from THE HEARD's upcoming debut album, "The Island", which is due on November 2 via Despotz Records.

"A Death Supreme" tells the story of a female writer who moves out to the island in hope for a better life. But her past catches on and instead of becoming an ugly corpse she chooses "a death supreme." The music and its harmonies reflect the beautiful but troubled soul.

In the deep, dark waters of the Baltic Sea there is an island. A very peculiar island. At first glance, it might seem beautiful and peaceful, idyllic even, but the island's seductive powers are not all they seem.

"The Island" revolves around the characters and places on this mysterious island. It is a concept album where the listener becomes acquainted with an island that is located somewhere between dream and reality, a place with room for both the ordinary and the supernatural. An island filled with both love and sorrow, where vitality and death live side by side.

lthough THE HEARD members' roots are firmly embedded in hard rock, they let their music grow wild and beyond genres. The result is a dynamic album that is not bound by either the heavy and hard, nor the soft and sheer.

Says Klara: "'The Island' is a dream project.

"Me, Ida and Nicki have been playing music together since our teenage years. Our thoughts about exploring the songwriting has been growing for a while. It was incredible to meet Skinny and Pepper who immediately understood our vision.

"THE HEARD is very different musically compared to our previous work, and it's been very exciting to write a concept album. It's also been a pleasant escape from reality while making this album.

"We love our intriguing, supernatural island world and hope our listeners will enjoy it as much as we do."

"The Island" track listing:

01. The Island

02. A Death Supreme

03. Tower Of Silence

04. Sirens

05. It

06. Caller Of The Storms

07. Revenge Song

08. Queen Scarlet

09. Crystal Lake

10. Leaving The Island

THE HEARD made its live debut in February 2018 at the Where's The Music festival in Norrköping, Sweden.

THE HEARD is:

* Klara Force (CRUCIFIED BARBARA) - Guitar

* Ida Evileye (CRUCIFIED BARBARA) - Bass

* Nikki Wicked (CRUCIFIED BARBARA) - Drums

* Jonas "Skinny Disco" Kangur (DEATHSTARS) - Lead Guitar

* Pepper Potemkin - Vocals

CRUCIFIED BARBARA announced its breakup in June 2016, two years after the release of the band's fourth album, "In The Red". The group explained at the time that "our lives have parted and we need to move on. The last years have taken its toll on all of us and the joy of playing together got lost somewhere along the way."

REPENTANCE Feat. STUCK MOJO, Ex-SOIL Members: 'Enter The Gallows' Single Available

REPENTANCE Feat. STUCK MOJO, Ex-SOIL Members: 'Enter The Gallows' Single Available

Earlier this year, REPENTANCE, the new band featuring former SOIL and DIRGE WITHIN guitarist Shaun Glass and STUCK MOJO frontman Robby J. Fonts, hit the scene with a pair of back-to-back demos, released exclusively on YouTube ahead of the group's live debut as the support act for TRIVIUM. Now, REPENTANCE enters fall with the release of "Enter The Gallows", an epic display of new American metal and the band's first "official" single, available now on Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, YouTube and more.

Says REPENTANCE: "Since the release of 'Collide' and 'Born To Choose' this past spring, we have spent much of the year writing mode. We recently jumped into the studio and finished recording some of the new material, emerging excited and proud of the growth in our sound. We're happy to share some fresh new metal for all to hear what we've been working on! Enjoy 'Enter The Gallows'!"

"Enter The Gallows" was recorded at Electrowerks Recording with Chuck Macack (BORN OF OSIRIS, OCEANO) engineering. The track was mixed and mastered by Chris Collier (PRONG, LAST IN LINE, METAL CHURCH, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM) of CMC21 Productions.

REPENTANCE will play Wisconsin for the first time on November 12, supporting DEVILDRIVER and JINJER at Route 20 in Sturtevant.

oining Fonts and Glass in the group are guitarist Markus Johnsson, drummer Anthony Lien and bassist Mike Sylvester.

"REPENTANCE came together very naturally, which was a very cleansing experience," states Glass. "At this point in my life, I was hoping to start working and creating new music with an almost entirely new group of people, and this crew organically locked into place."

"It's crazy how things happen," comments Fonts. "I was looking to start a new band since Rich [Ward] and Frank [Fontsere] are currently busy outside of STUCK MOJO [touring with FOZZY], so the timing for REPENTANCE came perfectly. It was NONPOINT's drummer, Robb Rivera, that introduced me to Shaun. One phone call later, we were stoked to get this show on the road. Shaun sent me demos, I wrote lyrics and vocals and our songs started coming together quickly."

"The band's sound is definitely very aggressive, pummeling metal and we can't wait to share some music with everyone soon," adds Glass. "Everyone is bringing their own style to the table, and the uniqueness of each is helping to shape our sound. All that said, we're all on the same page in terms of the musical direction that we're headed. 'Don't play metal if you ain't metal!' We're creating a style that we enjoy ourselves first and foremost."

"You know you're on to something special when everyone connects instantly and the creativity keeps on flowing," says Fonts. "I think fans of our previous work will be in for a pleasant surprise… this band's sound is HEAVY. Get ready for REPENTANCE!"

REPENTANCE is:

Robby J. Fonts - Vocals

Shaun Glass - Guitars

Markus Johansson - Lead Guitars

Mike Sylvester - Bass

Anthony Lien - Drums

"The Great Beyond" video was shot in black and white and features performance footage of the song from various stops on Myles's sold-out summer tour of Europe, where performed the material live for the first time with his backing band from the album: Tim Tournier on bass and Zia Uddin on drums and percussion.

Myles Kennedy, not one to spend a lot of time at home, is heading back out on tour of the U.S. in support of "Year Of The Tiger". SOULFLY: Lyric Video For 'Under Rapture' Featuring IMMOLATION's ROSS DOLAN

The official lyric video for the song "Under Rapture" from SOULFLY can be seen below. The track, which features guest vocals from Ross Dolan (IMMOLATION), is taken from the band's new album, "Ritual", released earlier today (Friday, October 19) via Nuclear Blast.

"It was really exciting for me to be part of new SOULFLY album," commented Dolan. "'Under Rapture' is a crushing song and I was on board the second I heard it. It was truly an honor for me to have been part of this. I think it's a sick song both musically and lyrically and I am really happy with the end result!

"This collaboration started last February when we were invited out as support on the 'Return To Roots' tour which eventually led to Max singing on the 'Morbid Visions' cover we did for the 'Death Is Just The Beginning' comp. As fans, having Max part of this made it really special and truly meant the world to us."

INTO ETERNITY: 'Sandstorm' Lyric Video

INTO ETERNITY: 'Sandstorm' Lyric Video

Canadian extreme progressive metal quintet INTO ETERNITY will release its long-awaited sixth album, "The Sirens", on October 26 via M-Theory Audio. The official lyric video for the disc's new single, "Sandstorm", can be seen below.

Guitarist Tim Roth comments: "'Sandstorm' was the second song written for 'The Sirens'. Most of the other tracks are long epics, but 'Sandstorm' is a short, action-packed song that holds plenty of firepower. Amanda did a spectacular job on the vocal melody and even though this song has a nice groove, there are still a lot of blast beats, guitar harmonies, melodic bass playing and shredding solos to be heard. This track also features Rob Doherty (low growls) and Stu Block as guest vocalists, as well as Justin Bender on the outro guitar solo. The song's lyrics were inspired on May 2, 2011 after the USA shot and killed Osama Bin Laden during a covert mission."

Originally, INTO ETERNITY intended to independently release "The Sirens" after a planned release through a European label fell through, but the group recently reconnected with M-Theory Audio president Marco Barbieri, who served as president of Century Media Records when the band released such acclaimed albums as "Buried In Oblivion" (2004) and "The Scattering Of Ashes" (2006).

"The Sirens" — which features guest appearances by former vocalist Stu Block (now in ICED EARTH), Cam Dixon (ex-ANNIHILATOR) and Glen Drover (ex-MEGADETH) — sees INTO ETERNITY firing on all cylinders, with Amanda Kiernan's fierce vocals and Tim Roth's trademark guitar heroics and vocal harmonies backed by longtime bassist Troy Bleich and newer recruits Bryan James Newbury (drums) and Matt Cuthberston (guitars, also of UNTIMELY DEMISE). The album was co-produced, mixed and mastered by former guitarist Justin Bender, while longtime artist Mattias Noren (EVERGREY, EPICA, KAMELOT) designed the cover and layout.

rom 2005 to 2008, there wasn't a harder-working metal band on the planet than INTO ETERNITY, whose extreme progressive metal built on the pioneering work of such forward-thinking acts as DEATH, CYNIC and OPETH. The group toured seemingly nonstop with the likes of DREAM THEATER, SYMPHONY X, DARK TRANQUILLITY, THE HAUNTED, KATAKLYSM and HATE ETERNAL, and also joined the epic lineup of MEGADETH, LAMB OF GOD, OPETH, ARCH ENEMY and OVERKILL on the 2006 edition of Gigantour.

In 2008, the group released its fifth record, the concept album "The Incurable Tragedy", and prepared for another busy touring cycle, which began with a vengeance on that year's Summer Slaughter Canada (where the band played alongside NECROPHAGIST, DYING FETUS, VEIL OF MAYA, WHITECHAPEL and others). From there, the group hit the road in support of ICED EARTH, after which they planned to take a short break to recover from four years of road work.

Soon after Roth returned home to Regina, Saskatchewan, however, he became a first-time father, and it became clear that touring as aggressively wouldn't be possible. The group still performed periodically in subsequent months, even traveling to Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan in the spring of 2009, but as the band considered their next moves after the end of "The Incurable Tragedy" touring cycle, vocalist Stu Block was asked to join ICED EARTH. At first, he planned to perform double duty, and in 2011, INTO ETERNITY recorded two digital singles featuring Block. It quickly became apparent, though, that ICED EARTH's touring commitments would keep Block on the road indefinitely, so in 2012, Roth recruited the Edmonton-based singer Amanda Kiernan (also of THE ORDER OF CHAOS) to become INTO ETERNITY's new vocalist. The group subsequently began demoing material for a new album, which they would record gradually over the next few years.

"The Sirens" track listing:

01. The Sirens (7:54)

02. Fringes Of Psychosis (6:58)

03. Sandstorm (3:46)

04. This Frozen Hell (7:01)

EVERGREY: 'The Atlantic' Album Details Revealed

EVERGREY: 'The Atlantic' Album Details Revealed

Acclaimed Swedish dark melodic metal masters EVERGREY will release their new studio album, titled "The Atlantic", on January 25, 2019. The band has worked extensively on the follow-up to 2016's "The Storm Within" (which entered the charts on high positions in numerous countries).

EVERGREY again teamed up with Jacob Hansen, who — just like with the band's previous releases "The Storm Within" and 2014's "Hymns For The Broken" — took care of mixing and mastering.

EVERGREY's Tom S. Englund states: "Guys! This is album number 11! Isn't that just sick?! It's also the third album of a concept that might have reached its destination or at least one conclusion. It might also have been something that some of you saw coming or anticipated.

"We've fought through giant private obstacles as well as an extremely complicated break-in at our headquarters studio to bring this album to you. So, at the same time as it's certainly not been painless or at all easy, it's been rewarding in new ways and our creativity has been painted in colors of honesty and sincerity.

This is our heaviest, darkest, and perhaps also our most diverse album to date. It's everything we wanted to compose and the written words come straight from a place of transparency and never before experienced lucidity. Finally, as of yesterday, we've reached new shores. We can't wait for you to share this journey with us and dive into our worlds, our depths, and the waters of 'The Atlantic'!"

STARBREAKER To Release 'Dysphoria' Album In January; 'Pure Evil' Single Available

STARBREAKER To Release 'Dysphoria' Album In January; 'Pure Evil' Single Available

Tony Harnell, the critically acclaimed singer/songwriter and former vocalist of hard rock band TNT, and Magnus Karlsson, current PRIMAL FEAR guitarist extraordinaire, have rejoined forces for the release of the third STARBREAKER album. Titled "Dysphoria", the disc showcases everything the project has become known for: metal sensibilities, melodic songs with killer hooks, thought provoking lyrics, inventive, intricate guitar playing, occasional prog twists, and a crisp production. Along with explosive performances from Harnell and Karlsson, these are the trademarks which the listener will find in "Dysphoria" and that make this album so very unique and special.

Of calling the album "Dysphoria", Tony states that the "title is simply a reflection of a state of mind and I thought it fit the lyrical theme of the songs. If I tried to summarize the lyrical theme of the album I would say it's beautifully sad, but infinitely hopeful. Life is always my biggest inspiration. It was an easy album to write lyrically for that reason. There was no writer's block and the themes are probably pretty obvious. I don't like to paint too clear a picture for the listener, it's best to let the words speak to them without guidance". On the first song released from the album, he says: "'Pure Evil' is the heaviest the album gets and not indicative of the album as a whole, although there are some metal overtones throughout."

Of the music direction on the album, Magnus states: "Tony's voice gives me inspiration to write my riffs and melodies. I imagine his voice, so in my head, I visualize the finished songs with great production. The two first albums didn't take much more than a year from finish to start. This release was made over a much longer period because of our other bands and productions. It's the first time I worked on an album with breaks in the production. In the end, it came out much better. I'm really happy with the sound on a STARBREAKER album. Thanks to Simone Mularoni (DGM) who did a great job with the mix. And Jonni Lightfoot and Anders Köllerfors who really made the songs shine! Tony's voice sounds better than ever, just amazing! You can have the best songs, best production or fastest guitar solos, but if the vocals aren't top notch, you have nothing!"

STARBREAKER started as Harnell's side project while he was still fronting TNT. He was initially working on a solo record, with Karlsson, former TNT drummer John Macaluso, and bassist Fabrizio Grossi, but they morphed into STARBREAKER, releasing their first self-titled studio album in 2005. In late 2007, Harnell flew to Sweden to write the bulk of the songs for the new album with Karlsson, and started recording the new songs at the end of that year. The group's second album, "Love's Dying Wish", was released in August 2008. It featured new bassist Jonni Lightfoot, who replaced Grossi, and was produced by Harnell and Karlsson, with Tommy Hansen (TNT, PRETTY MAIDS, HELLOWEEN) serving as the mixer.

he songwriting for the new STARBREAKER album started back before Harnell rejoined TNT in 2016, but it was after his ultimate split from that band, in October 2017, that he and Karlsson put the pedal to the metal and quickly completed "Dysphoria".

"Dysphoria" will be released on January 25, 2019 via Frontiers Music Srl.

STARBREAKER 2018 is:

Tony Harnell - vocals

Magnus Karlsson - guitars, keyboards, backing vocals

Jonni Lightfoot - bass

Anders Köllerfors - drums

BABYMETAL Parts Ways With YUIMETAL, Releases New Single 'Starlight'

BABYMETAL Parts Ways With YUIMETAL, Releases New Single 'Starlight'

BABYMETAL's 2018 Japanese tour will begin at Makuhari Messe starting October 23 and will be ending at Kobe World Memorial Hall on October 31. And just days before the start of these performances, BABYMETAL digitally released its new song "Starlight" while also unveiling the music video on October 19. A portion of this new song "Starlight" is included in BABYMETAL's graphic novel "Apocrypha: The Legend Of Babymetal"'s trailer.

The start of the BABYMETAL Japanese performances will mark the rebirth of the band in which Su-Metal and Moametal form the core.

According to BABYMETAL's official web site, since last December in Hiroshima, Yuimetal had been absent from performing and during this time both Su-Metal and Moametal as well as the entire staff team had been preparing for her awaited return. However, Yuimetal came to a decision that she will not be performing at October's Japan performances and that she will no longer be a part of BABYMETAL.

Yuimetal released a statement about her decision to leave BABYMETAL, explaining that she may go on to pursue a solo career as Mizuno Yu.

he wrote: "I am truly sorry for the inconvenience I have caused so many people due to being absent for an extended period of time. I have mulled over this over and over again, but I have decided to leave BABYMETAL at this time.

"I feel very sorry that my decision will disturb the other members and some many fans who have supported BABYMETAL. I am further terribly sorry to sadden the fans who have supported BABYMETAL.

"I had the strong desire to appear on stage again but my physical condition is not at its best even now, and further I feel that I would like to pursue my dream, one that I have had from a long time ago, of going on my own as Mizuno Yui. It is these factors that led to my decision.

She added: "I am thankful for the numerous and precious experiences I was able to have being a part of BABYMETAL. I always felt day to day that I was truly blessed. The live shows where we all smiled together and became as One were truly happy and enjoyable times. I will do my utmost best to be able to again one day meet all of you as Mizuno Yui. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the last eight years."

BABYMETAL will also be having a festival-type event with special guests on October 28 which will be held at Saitama Super Arena. This will be BABYMETAL's first time to be hosting such an event and will be a special night to remember for all attendees.

SIRENIA will embark on a European tour in November with support from fellow Norwegians TRIOSPHERE. SIRENIA will bring its epic melancholic symbiosis of orchestral opuses and raw heavy metal sounds to the U.K., France, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland and Italy.

Prior to the recording of "Dim Days Of Dolor", SIRENIA collaborated with Zoldan on choir vocals on all its albums except its 2002 debut, "At Sixes And Sevens". She also did some lead vocals on SIRENIA's cover version of Leonard Cohen's "First We Take Manhattan" on the 2004 EP "Sirenian Shores".

Emmanuelle told Femme Metal Webzine about her musical background: "I learned the piano when I was child, and I tried drums later, but I had to admit very fast that I was better in singing. So I began to sing in a pop/rock band as the lead singer. We made some really nice shows, and won some competitions. It was a really nice period of creativity and concerts we did in the same time we did our studies at the university. Then I decided to go the conservatory to learn a good vocal technique, and after some years of work and two years of specialization, I began a career… in opera. It was a bit unexpected, but life can be really strange sometimes. But during my operatic career, I never stopped doing a lot of other music projects, in different styles (rock, jazz, R&B), creating music, making concerts and recording metal albums for many bands, choirs parts and also lead vocals."

GOTTHARD Collaborates With STATUS QUO's FRANCIS ROSSI On New Single, 'Bye Bye Caroline'

GOTTHARD Collaborates With STATUS QUO's FRANCIS ROSSI On New Single, 'Bye Bye Caroline'

Released in 1997, "Defrosted" was the very first live album released by the Swiss hard rock band GOTTHARD. To this day, it is seen as a cult milestone in the group's career that helped establish GOTTHARD as the most successful band from Switzerland.

For more than 25 years, GOTTHARD has thrived in the global spotlight with a career that includes 16 No. 1 albums, over three million records sold, multiple awards and over 2,000 shows all over the planet. And now, 21 years after "Defrosted"'s release, the circle is completed as GOTTHARD returns to Sony Switzerland and Nuclear Blast with "Defrosted 2".

An ultimate compilation of unplugged versions of GOTTHARD's greatest hits, "Defrosted 2" was recorded this past March on the "Defrosted" tour. Even though the concept was the same as it was over 20 years ago — to capture the unique chemistry between the band and the fans — the circumstances that the band find themselves in are different. Both the band and their audience have grown, and yet after 25 years, it's the same unparalleled intimacy that GOTTHARD brings to its live performances that makes this record what it is.

After celebrating its "silver" anniversary with its latest studio album that set new chart records and saw GOTTHARD play shows at a number of prestigious festivals, "Defrosted 2" showcases 22 of the band's most iconic tracks as well as two brand new songs.

s soon as Leo Leoni, Freddy Scherer, Marc Lynn and Hena Habegger begin to play the first notes of the purest acoustic sound while vocalist Nic Maeder casually greets the audience in three different languages, even those who are new to GOTTHARD will soon feel at home. If you're not sold by this point, then the first chorus of the album's first track, the sensual and groovy "Miss Me", will serve as a stark reminder that the only important thing is the joy of live music. Andy Pupato is as faultless behind the kit as he was on the first "Defrosted", while Ernesto Ghezzi once again proves his talent as a live keyboard player and "The G-Strings" (the string quartet centered around Barbara Kubli), which performs live with GOTTHARD from time to time, provides a perfect dose of elegance. Newly appointed backing vocalists Maram El Dsoki and Barbara Comi's velvety soft vocals and radiant power give the band wings and imbue "Defrosted 2" with an exciting new charm.

Whether it's 1992's "Hush", the gilded "Heaven" from 2000, the "comeback single" "Remember It's Me" (issued after the tragic loss of original vocalist Steve Lee), the hard-rocking "Bang!" from the 2014 album of the same name, the tender "Beautiful" or the recent "Stay With Me", "Defrosted 2" is a well-paced journey through the years, including breathtaking solos, wild honky tonk interludes ("Sweet Little Rock 'N' Roller") and sincere declarations of love. And if you think you've heard everything after the wild trip through 25 years of classics, there are two new tracks on top. First, there's the mighty ballad "What I Wouldn't Give", which tears everything down in a powerful wave of emotion, and the party hit "Bye Bye Caroline", which is also the first single from "Defrosted 2". Lyrically inspired by STATUS QUO's 1973 hit "Caroline", the live opener of the U.K. rockers for 25 years, the track was created with Francis Rossi himself, who was also involved in contributing guitar and duet vocals. The song was spontaneously written backstage on the last "Rock Meets Classic" tour, when Francis, Leo and Nic sealed their new friendship directly by writing a new song together.

The video for "Bye Bye Caroline" — featuring Francis Rossi — can be seen below.

Due on December 7, "Defrosted 2" was produced by Leo Leoni in collaboration with Nicolo Fragile and, as usual, Charlie Bauerfeind was responsible for the mix. The double album, which will be released in the high-quality Ecolbook format and as a four-fold vinyl version worldwide on December 7, 2018, was further refined in the Wisseloord Studio in Hilversum, where legends like THE ROLLING STONES, U2 and the SCORPIONS have already worked and recorded.

Former KYUSS Singer's JOHN GARCIA AND THE BAND OF GOLD To Release Self-Titled Album In January

Former KYUSS Singer's JOHN GARCIA AND THE BAND OF GOLD To Release Self-Titled Album In January

Former KYUSS frontman John Garcia returns with his next incarnation of Desert Rock, JOHN GARCIA AND THE BAND OF GOLD. The group's self-titled debut album will be released on January 4, 2019 via Napalm. None other than KYUSS and QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE producer Chris Goss gave this new groovy piece of dust its finishing touches.

Garcia takes the next step in his almost 30-year career by combining the strengths of his musical past with the achievements of modern times. It's once again a distinctive John Garcia album.

Says the singer: "After a year of heavy stress, starting my own studio, shutting it down, hiring and firing, the drama is finally over. Saved by surgeon Chris Goss, this record is finally done.

"It is unclear if I will ever be doing this again, so this is it. Here it is, proud and loud JOHN GARCIA AND THE BAND OF GOLD record comes out January 4th with supporting tour thereafter.

The Vegas jam is my only U.S. electric show and will prove to be something special.

"I thank my supporters; you keep me going. Big love from the Garcia res!!"

After starting the stoner rock movement by establishing KYUSS together with Josh Homme, Brant Bjork and Nick Oliveri in 1990, Garcia became one of the most heard voices from the desert in rock history. No doubt that he had massive impact on the desert rock movement by singing in bands like HERMANO, SLO BURN, UNIDA and VISTA CHINO. Since his debut album as a solo artist in 2014 via Napalm Records, he has further established his very own trademarks.

After having a meeting between his musical past and present, by playing on one stage with Oliveri, Dave Angstrom (ex-HERMANO) and Arthur Seay (ex-UNIDA) on November 29 in Las Vegas, Garcia will embark on a European tour with BAND OF GOLD in late January.

DISTURBED: Pro-Shot Video Of Intimate Chicago Concert

DISTURBED: Pro-Shot Video Of Intimate Chicago Concert

DISTURBED played a special intimate show on October 10 at the 1,000-capacity Vic Theatre in Chicago, Illinois. The concert, which was presented by SiriusXM, saw the live premiere of the first two singles from DISTURBED's upcoming "Evolution" album, "Are You Ready" and "A Reason To Fight", as well as powerful renditions of a dozen or so songs spanning the band's nearly two-decade recording career, including its smash cover of SIMON & GARFUNKEL's "The Sound Of Silence".

Professionally filmed video footage of the "Are You Ready" and "Down With The Sickness" performances from the Chicago show can be seen below.

The setlist for the gig was as follows:

01. Are You Ready (live debut)

02. Prayer

03. The Vengeful One

04. The Game

05. Stupify

06. Liberate

07. Ten Thousand Fists

08. Inside The Fire

09. A Reason To Fight (live debut)

10. The Sound Of Silence (SIMON & GARFUNKEL cover)

11. Indestructible

12. Land Of Confusion (GENESIS cover)

13. Voices

ncore:

14. The Light

15. Stricken

16. Down With The Sickness

"Evolution" will be released on October 19.

2015's "Immortalized" ended a four-year hiatus for the quartet and was its fifth album to enter the Billboard 200 chart at No. 1.

Like "Immortalized", DISTURBED's new album was recorded at The Hideout Recording Studio in Las Vegas, Nevada with producer Kevin Churko.

In a recent interview with United Rock Nations radio station, DISTURBED singer David Draiman stated about "Evolution": " From a stylistic standpoint, songs like 'Are You Ready', 'Hold On To Memories', 'Already Gone' came about because in a post-'Sound Of Silence' world, we feel very comfortable going in any direction we choose at any given point in time. There are no limitations; there's no specific definition to what we are; and it's given us the confidence to really spread our wings quite a bit. The results are on this record."

He also spoke about his growth as a vocalist, explaining: "It's much easier to learn how to sing classically than it is to learn how to learn sing rock, to be perfectly honest. Achieving the proper technique without having to inject the rasp, the grit into the vocal is far easier than still trying to achieve that and inject the rasp or the grit. It's a very, very delicate technique. When I first trained to sing at all, the stylistically different songs on this album were more of what I sang back in the day. It literally hadn't been until we recorded the cover of 'Sound Of Silence' that I had had my recorded voice played back to me like that. I had never recorded anything that sounded like that."

Watch DUFF MCKAGAN Join SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS For 'It's So Easy' Performance In Hollywood

Watch DUFF MCKAGAN Join SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS For 'It's So Easy' Performance In Hollywood

The iconic Grammy-winning guitarist Slash and his band SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY AND THE CONSPIRATORS wrapped their nationwide, sold-out headlining tour — their first in four years — on Tuesday night (October 16) at the Palladium in Hollywood, California. The group ripped through a 22-song, electrifying two-hour show which included a special guest appearance from GUNS N' ROSES bassist Duff McKagan on a rendition of the GN'R classic "It's So Easy". The band which, in addition to Slash and singer Myles Kennedy, includes Todd Kerns (bass), drummer Brent Fitz (drums) and Frank Sidoris (rhythm guitar) will continue touring worldwide in support of their acclaimed new album, "Living The Dream", which spawned the first single "Driving Rain", officially a Top 5 hit at rock radio.

"Living The Dream" was released on September 21 via Slash's own label Snakepit Records. It is Slash's fourth solo album and third since putting together the CONSPIRATORS.

The "Living The Dream" sessions, which commenced in late March, saw the band reunite with producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette, who also helmed 2014's "World On Fire". But while the producer stayed the same, the studio this time changed, with Slash opting to move operations to his newly active recording facility, Snakepit Studios.

GUNS N' ROSES' "Not In This Lifetime" tour launched in April 2016 with a nightclub gig in Los Angeles and has more dates booked this fall.

he apparently final leg of the trek will kick off in Mexico on November 3 and wrap up in South Africa on November 29.

Joining Slash and McKagan on "Not In This Lifetime" are singer Axl Rose, drummer Frank Ferrer, keyboardist Dizzy Reed, guitarist Richard Fortus and second keyboardist Melissa Reese.

CHRIS CORNELL: Unboxing Video For New Box Set

CHRIS CORNELL: Unboxing Video For New Box Set

On November 16, fans can celebrate the recorded legacy of musical icon and singer/songwriter Chris Cornell with the 17-track self-titled album, "Chris Cornell", and a 64-track limited-edition deluxe box set. The first release since his passing in 2017, the album will be made available by Cornell's wife, Vicky Cornell, on behalf of the Chris Cornell estate through UMe.

A "Chris Cornell" unboxing video can be seen below.

"Chris Cornell" commemorates his life and legacy not only as a singer, but as a poet and one of the most prolific writers and greatest voices of the modern rock era. Vicky worked extensively with Chris's bandmates and friends to compile a collection of material from the late artist's expansive career, showcasing his contribution to music history with selections culled from the deep catalogs of his three influential bands — SOUNDGARDEN, TEMPLE OF THE DOG and AUDIOSLAVE — as well as songs from his solo career. She turned to producer Brendan O'Brien, who was a trusted partner to Cornell over the years, and Jeff Ament, who created the packaging for "Chris Cornell".

The first previously unreleased track, "When Bad Does Good", was produced, recorded, and mixed by Cornell and was found in his personal recordings archive. The track was a favorite of his and it wasn't until friend Josh Brolin reminded Vicky of the unreleased song that she decided to share it with his fans. The song is also accompanied by a lyric video, which can be viewed below.

Since Chris's sudden passing, I have put all my efforts and energy into sharing his music and legacy with his fans from all over the world," says Vicky. "I felt we needed to create a special collection to represent all of him — the friend, husband and father, the risk taker and innovator, the poet and artist. His soaring vocals found their way into the hearts and souls of so many. His voice was his vision and his words were his peace. This album is for his fans."

The breadth of all 17 selections on "Chris Cornell" display the full span of his artistic achievements, from the full-on kick of SOUNDGARDEN's seminal "Black Hole Sun" to the mournful yearning of TEMPLE OF THE DOG's "Hunger Strike" to the sensitive depth of AUDIOSLAVE's "Like A Stone" to his spot-on solo theme to the 2006 James Bond film "Casino Royale", "You Know My Name". This collection also contains a pair of previously unreleased recordings: a touching cover of Prince's "Nothing Compares 2 U" that was cut live at SiriusXM, and "When Bad Does Good".

The November 16 release will also include a limited-edition 4CD deluxe box set of the same name, consisting of 64 tracks (11 of them previously unreleased).

"Chris Cornell" comes housed in a jewel case with a limited-edition custom die-cut slipcase that showcases Seattle with tree-line graphics on the front and other various cities he lived in throughout his life on the back, a 32-page booklet with many unreleased photos, and liner notes from bandmates and colleagues Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron, Tom Morello, Mike McCready and Brendan O'Brien. The 180g 2LP edition comes in a gatefold jacket with similar limited-edition slipcase graphics, a 12-page booklet, and the aforementioned liner notes, while the 4CD limited-edition box boasts a further expanded 54-page booklet.

Additionally, a limited-edition super deluxe 4CD, 1DVD, and 180-gram 7LP box set is set for release on November 16. The super deluxe edition holds 88 tracks — 64 songs plus 24 videos, with 13 entries (11 audio + 2 video) previously unreleased overall. Also included in the super deluxe box are a 66-page hardcover photo book wrapped in linen with a red foil signature cover, three artist lithos, three photochromatic lithos inspired by Cornell's lyrical fascination about the sun (images are brought to life by holding under direct sunlight), a turntable mat, a microfiber vinyl cleaning cloth, and a 36x48-inch wall poster.

The box set's ten unreleased live performances include Cornell's duet with Yusuf/Cat Stevens on "Wild World" and another duet with his daughter Toni Cornell on Bob Marley's indelible classic "Redemption Song". TEMPLE OF THE DOG's 25th-anniversary reunion/first-ever-official tour in 2016 is highlighted with hometown performances of "Reach Down" and the Andy Wood/MOTHER LOVE BONE favorite "Stargazer", Chris's personal arrangement of "One" featuring the lyrics to METALLICA's song set to the music of U2's song of same name, and a first ever album release of AUDIOSLAVE's 2005 ground-breaking performance on Cuban soil of "Show Me How To Live". Also in 2016, one of Chris's personal career-topping moments was performing at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall in London where he covered THE BEATLES' "A Day In The Life". Three additional live selections from Sweden in 2006 include "Wide Awake", "All Night Thing" and LED ZEPPELIN's "Thank You" are from the very first show ever where Chris performed by himself with an acoustic guitar in front of an audience which became the creative spark for his future, highly successful "Songbook" tours. Two unreleased music videos spotlight a solo acoustic performance of "Scream" and the newly edited SOUNDGARDEN video "Live To Rise", showcasing the band only without "The Avengers" movie footage included.

TESLA's FRANK HANNON Releases Video For Cover Of DEEP PURPLE's 'Hush'

TESLA's FRANK HANNON Releases Video For Cover Of DEEP PURPLE's 'Hush'

TESLA's Frank Hannon has released the official music video for his cover of DEEP PURPLE's "Hush", taken from the second installment of his solo cover series, "From One Place… To Another Vol. 2". As with "Vol. 1", the album features a number of special guests, this time including Roger Fisher of HEART, Graham Whitford (son of AEROSMITH's Brad Whitford), Duane Betts (son of ALLMAN BROTHERS' Dickey), Randy Hansen and Jared James Nichols.

"This volume is definitely a step up for me as an artist," declares Hannon. "I chose to sing some of my favorite songs from very different genres ranging from AEROSMITH, Chaka Khan, BLACK SABBATH to Seal. I am proud of 'Volume 1' but 'Volume 2' came out a lot edgier and with some heavier tones."

While "Volume 1" was more roots and acoustic focused, "From One Place… To Another Vol. 2" is all electric with full backing band, recorded in various locations with a portable recorder and eventually assembled back in Hannon's home studio.

"As it turns out, singing is becoming a lot of fun for me," Hannon admits. "I've left the smoking guitar duties to some very special guests including the Jimi Hendrix tribute master Randy Hansen, HEART founder Roger Fisher, Jared James Nichols, as well as other guest artists who contributed flavors."

b>Randy Hansen and Roger Fisher have always been heroes of Frank's. "Known for his 'Magic Man' guitar sounds, Roger and I recorded a HEART classic 'Sing Child', which is almost as funky a song as the man himself," Frank says.

A chance meeting south of the border led to the recording of a classic AEROSMITH cut. "I ran into guitarist Graham Whitford in Mexico while on tour and asked him if he'd be interested in recording guitars on his dad's song and he graciously obliged," Frank says. "Six months later, we put it together via the Internet and 'Lord of the Thighs' became a highlight for me."

The biggest surprise of the album is Frank's take on Seal's "Kiss From A Rose". "It's a vocal melody that has haunted me for years," he says. "When I decided to record it, I spent weeks researching Seal and learned how he wrote the song with no instruments, using only his voice as the music background. This really opened my eyes and ears to the power of a vocal melody that drives a song and I recorded it similarly on my portable 8-track in a dressing room on tour."

"From One Place… To Another Vol. 2" track listing:

01. Hush (featuring Randy Hansen)

02. Lord Of The Thighs (featuring Graham Whitford)

03. You Can't Always Get What You Want (featuring Duane Betts)

04. Tell Me Somethin' Good

05. Kiss From A Rose

06. Sing Child (featuring Roger Fisher)

07. I Can See Clearly Now

08. Spanish Castle Magic (featuring Randy Hansen)

09. I Can Help

10. Sweet Leaf (featuring Jared James Nichols)

COREY TAYLOR Says Next SLIPKNOT Album Will Include Band's 'Heaviest Song' To Date

COREY TAYLOR Says Next SLIPKNOT Album Will Include Band's 'Heaviest Song' To Date

Corey Taylor says that SLIPKNOT's upcoming album will contain the band's "heaviest song" to date. Asked by Metal Hammer magazine about the direction of the follow-up to 2014's ".5: The Gray Chapter", the singer said: "The way we've been describing it is, 'What if the guys who made 'Iowa' matured? What if the kids who made 'Iowa' grew up?' That's kind of the way we're looking at it because some of this shit is so heavy — but there's melody, there's really cool melancholic melody going on. Some of this shit is just so hard and dirty fast. It's fucking really good. It's also us at our most ambitious, our most experimental, also us doing what we fucking do best which is basically when everybody thinks they've got us figured out, we just smack them in the face with everything we've got."

Taylor added: "At a time when most bands are slowing down, I think we've written our heaviest song — one of them anyway — on this new album.

"It's going to be fucking crazy. People are going to shit their pants when they hear it."

Taylor recently told Spain's Resurrection Fest TV that SLIPKNOT's new disc will likely arrive next summer. "Right now, we have 20 songs that we've demoed," he said. "And they are really, really good. So it'll just come down to which ones come out the best, and we take that, we make the album out of that, put the album out. However, the way we're talking right now, we're trying to find ways that everyone can hear all the songs. So we'll put the album out, and then maybe we'll release something after that. It's something that we're really trying to think of — giving the audience more, giving the fans more of us. But it's gotta make sense — it's gotta be SLIPKNOT. It can't just be something that throw out there because we can; it's gotta have art, it's gotta have content, it's gotta have passion to it."

b>".5: The Gray Chapter" was released following a six-year hiatus during which founding SLIPKNOT bassist Paul Gray died and drummer Joey Jordison was dismissed.

".5: The Gray Chapter" sold around 132,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 1 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD arrived in stores in October 2014 via Roadrunner.

Gray died in 2010 from a drug overdose, while Jordison was let go in December 2013, just before SLIPKNOT began recording the last album.

AZUSA Featuring Members Of THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, EXTOL, And SEA + AIR Release "Heavy Yoke" Music Video

AZUSA Featuring Members Of THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, EXTOL, And SEA + AIR Release "Heavy Yoke" Music Video

Members of The Dillinger Escape Plan, Extol, and Sea + Air have joined creative forces as Azusa. The band's debut album, Heavy Yoke, will be released on November 16th via Solid State Records in North America.

A music video for the album's title track can be seen below. The band described the clip as the "abstract visual metaphor about habit loops, rewinding time, and loss of innocence. Aesthetically, we were imaging what it would look like if Jonathan Glazer directed an episode of Twin Peaks."

About the track itself, Azusa said, "The musical elements in 'Heavy Yoke' are constantly challenging the song's center line and balance point. While the acrobatic riffing insists on taking the tune off-track, the vocal lines add an anchoring sense of stability within the chaos. The opening riff is a precarious roller coaster and one of the more jarring, yet thrilling rides on the whole album. After the intro drop, the chorus catches you in a cushion of harmony, leaving you feeling secure and ready to take that ride again."

The band furthered, "Thematically, 'Heavy Yoke' deals with those unspeakable truths lurking in the subconscious mind. You can ignore them for a while, but sooner or later, they'll haunt you in the night. When you finally wake yourself up and let the daylight in, its healing powers reveal universal truths, which bring clarity and relief."

Azusa's music is a carnival of contrast - it's captivating with unconventional nerve. Uniting the complementary skills of its members, Azusa's sound is a thrash-fusion tour de force. Can you imagine Kate Bush fronting Slayer? Death collaborating with Annette Peacock? These allegedly incongruent influences dissolve seamlessly in an alluring sonic alchemy.

Uncompromisingly experimental, Azusa's curated approach showcases each member's unique strengths as a reaction to previous endeavours, more so than an extension of them. Reflecting on life's existential mysteries, Azusa's lyrics seek to explore cognitive dissonances at the crossroads of upbringing, mysticism, belief and betrayal. Defying expectations by embracing contradiction, Azusa finds strength in vulnerability, harmony in dissonance, and melody in discord.

The band commented on its debut, saying, "This album is special for all of us and we're currently feeling the same excited feelings we got before we debuted any of our previous efforts. We are really fortunate to have been able to create these songs together and to be able to share them with fans of our former and current bands, as well as new fans."

Azusa finished by stating, "It has been such a relief crafting music without having any outside expectations placed on us. Turning to creative playfulness with a more relaxed and intuitive approach to songwriting, we feel that this collection of songs will hold a unique space in the atmosphere of heavy music."

FOGHAT Spinoff EARL & THE AGITATORS ALL STAR BAND Return With Shaken & Stirred Album; "Guess Things Happen That Way" Performance Video Streaming

FOGHAT Spinoff EARL & THE AGITATORS ALL STAR BAND Return With Shaken & Stirred Album; "Guess Things Happen That Way" Performance Video Streaming

Rock n’ roll, blues and a dash of country are being served "Shaken & Stirred" in the latest release by the Earl & The Agitators All Star Band. Shaken & Stirred (a follow-up to their 2016 self-titled EP) will be released on Friday, October 26th (Foghat Records, distributed by Select-O-Hits).

Earl & The Agitators is the brain child of Foghat founding member/drummer Roger Earl, singer/guitarist extraordinaire Scott Holt (former 10-year Buddy Guy alum) and Foghat lead/slide guitarist Bryan Bassett. Rounding out the lineup for the live bonus tracks are Foghat bassist Rodney O’Quinn, guitarist Tony Bullard and percussionist Mark Petrocelli.

A pre-order and stream of the album is available here.

“This band was born out of a passion for American Music,” explains Roger. “Rock, Blues & Country. Scott Holt, who played with Buddy Guy, one of my musical heroes, for many years, channels this music with a joy and mastery of a seasoned pro. With his fireballing guitar and soulful vocals, we had a blast writing and recording!  And since we are all big Johnny Cash fans we also included a couple of his songs for fun. I love making music with Scott!"

“So, you're in a band and you have some friends that are in another band,” adds Scott. “You get together and hang out, writing and recording music. You share a love for old rock n’ roll, blues and country, so you jam on a Tommy Tucker tune and even take a swing at a Johnny Cash cut from the Sun Records days. You're having so much fun that you give it a name and even take it onstage! The recipe is simple; take your Chess and Sun 45's, throw them in a blender with a dollop of thundering drums, thumping bass and searing electric guitars...I'm pretty sure that's the recipe for rock n’ roll!”

Bryan also realized that EATA were on to something special, straight away. “Over the years of playing professionally I have come to recognize and appreciate musical chemistry. When you meet someone that you just hit it off with, both as a friend and as a musical collaborator, special things happen. And so it was when I met Scott Holt. Our instant chemistry for writing songs and the way we just naturally blended as guitar players lead to us having many tracks recorded for no other reason than we loved writing, playing and recording together. Roger and I have been comrades in arms for many years and now we had all these songs recorded and ready to go. That left us with a conundrum...what do we do with them? Well what we did was come up with a *fun name, ‘Earl and the Agitators’ and we decided to put the songs out there so our friends and fans could listen, and I hope like what we've come up with. It certainly was a great musical experience for Rog, Scott and I and all our fellow collaborating ‘Earls’.”

*One last note from Roger “whilst pondering over a bottle of Foghat Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Bryan declared us ‘Earl & The Agitators” and that’s how we came to be!"

And as seen/heard in this live performance of “Guess Things Happen That Way”, recorded at the Club Arcada in St. Charles, Illinois on March 15th, 2018, this band takes their ‘chemistry’ to the next level as these musical worlds collide on stage. Watch below.

NAILED TO OBSCURITY Set January Release Date For Debut Album; Details Revealed

NAILED TO OBSCURITY Set January Release Date For Debut Album; Details Revealed

German melodic death/doom metallers, Nailed To Obscurity, announce the release of their upcoming label debut, Black Frost, for January 11th through Nuclear Blast Records. The album features seven brand new extensive tracks, which absorb the listener with its stunning atmosphere, without sacrificing the band's remarkable sound.

States the band, "Frequently, we carry frustration, pain, fear and rage with us until it's too late. Like black frost that builds up weightily on the mast and the ropes of a ship, able to cause it to capsize, we burden ourselves. These suppressed emotions are the focus of Black Frost, which for us is the next logical step after King Delusion. While the new songs feature our distinctive touches, they are also a lot more open and multifaceted than ever before. We can't wait to finally unleash our Nuclear Blast debut and to present Black Frost live on stage in January/February!"

Black Frost was recorded at Woodshed Studio (near Landshut, Germany) with producer V. Santura (Triptykon, Dark Fortress), the artwork was designed by Santiago Caruso.

Explains Caruso, "Through the ages, the experience of the organic has outspread a substance frozen by the fear of uncertainty: the order of the sight succeeded to mute the mystery of the organism with a web of cold signs within the limits of the body, covering the shape of our true selves under the petrified whisper of a black frost. Now, we are in need of crying out a sharp thunder, a burning poem to melt it down."

Tracklisting:

"Black Frost"
"Tears Of The Eyeless"
"The Aberrant Host"
"Feardom"
"Cipher"

ACE FREHLEY Explains Why He Fired His Band: 'It Wasn't Just About Funds'

ACE FREHLEY Explains Why He Fired His Band: 'It Wasn't Just About Funds'

Former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley spoke to SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation" about his decision to part ways with the solo band that has backed him on his most recent tours: Richie Scarlet on guitar, Chris Wyse on bass and Scot Coogan. "That was hard," Frehley admitted. As for how the change happened, Ace said: "Well, I had performed with Gene's [Simmons, KISS bassist/vocalist] backup band in Australia, and then Gene, for some reason, canceled his trip to Japan. So I went to Japan with his band and we did eight shows. And they're super tight; they all sing lead — four-part harmony. I mean, I'll never forget playing '2000 Man' the first time with this band, and all of a sudden, I'm hearing all the harmonies that were on the original record done by Paul [Stanley] and Gene. I'm saying, 'Great.' So, after the last show in Tokyo, I said to these guys, 'Are you available? Would you consider doing the ['Kiss Kruise']?' And they said, 'Yeah.' They're all fans of mine. And they're cheaper than my band, and I'm trying to cut costs down. I cut one crew member… It wasn't just about funds. I would have paid them what I'm paying my band right now, because they're that good. But don't let them know that."

Asked how Scarlet, Wyse and Coogan took the news that they were being replaced, Frehley said: "Chris took it really well. He's been playing with the [HOLLYWOOD] VAMPIRES, he told me he was doing solo shows with Joe Perry, and he's one of the most sought-after bass players in Los Angeles. So Chris took it really well. Scotty didn't take it very well. And Richie didn't take it well, because his wife had just passed away [after battling ALS for many years]."

He continued: "It was a nightmare, because I kept procrastinating, because I said, 'How can I call Richie and let him know I'm using another band when his wife is on her deathbed?' And it was tearing me apart. Finally I just said, 'I've gotta man up.' So I called him and I told him briefly why and… and he hung up on me. [Laughs] He goes, 'I can't believe this shit,' and he hung up on me. So, two days later, I called him back in the evening, and I said, 'Rich…' He apologized for hanging up on me. I've known Richie forever. So we healed. He told me he loved me like a brother; I told him the same. I said, 'Tell me what I can do for you, because I know you were expecting the money from the cruise.' So I wired some money into his account to help pay for Joann's funeral. She was a wonderful lady."

Frehley went on to defend the fact that he fired Scarlet at a particularly vulnerable time in Richie's life, explaining: "Bad timing is bad timing, but business decisions really don't… can't… with personal life, it never jells. It's never the right time, in a lot of cases."

arlier in the month, Ace told "The Cassius Morris Show" that he decided to use Gene's band instead of his previous musicians because "they [are] better than my current lineup… They're younger and more hungry."

Backing Frehley and Simmons on the Australian tour were Philip Shouse on guitar/vocals, Ryan Cook on guitar/vocals, Jeremy Asbrock on guitar/vocals, and Christopher Williams on drums. After the Aussie dates, Shouse, Cook, Asbrock and Williams accompanied Frehley on the Japan trek. Shouse switched from guitar to bass for Frehley's show.

Recalling the tour with Frehley and Simmons, Shouse told AL.com, "We were all just having the time of our lives… I think Ace was pretty shocked after the first show that we did with no rehearsal and we pulled it off. By the third show, we'd really hit our stride and were on fire for the rest of the tour."

Asbrock and Shouse are the founders of THEE ROCK N' ROLL RESIDENCY, a popular Nashville tribute band that routinely hosts surprise appearances by such rocks stars as Alice Cooper, Robin Zander (CHEAP TRICK) and Roger Glover (DEEP PURPLE).

Frehley — whose new solo album, "Spaceman", will be released via eOne on October 19 — first left KISS in 1982. He rejoined in 1996 and parted ways with the band once again in 2002 after the conclusion of their first "farewell tour."

Listen To New SICK OF IT ALL Song 'Wake The Sleeping Dragon!'

Listen To New SICK OF IT ALL Song 'Wake The Sleeping Dragon!'

New York hardcore legends SICK OF IT ALL will release their twelfth studio album, "Wake The Sleeping Dragon!", on November 2. The follow-up to 2014's "The Last Act Of Defiance" was produced by Jerry Farley (EVERY TIME I DIE, DEMON HUNTER) over a two-and-a-half-week period at Nova Studios in Staten Island, New York and was mixed and mastered by Tue Madsen (MESHUGGAH, THE HAUNTED, MADBALL). The cover artwork was created by Ernie Parada and can be seen below.

The "Wake The Sleeping Dragon!" title track can be streamed below.

Says the band: "'Wake The Sleeping Dragon!', the title track of our new album, is a hard-driving song about big brother encroaching on our lives and recognizing the reality that we the people have the power to stop it through unity. So take your head out of your ass and smarten up.

"We are very excited for all of you to hear this new album as we feel it's our best work to date."

b>"Wake The Sleeping Dragon!" features guest appearances by RISE AGAINST vocalist/guitarist Tim McIlrath and HOT WATER MUSIC frontman Chuck Ragan.

Working with friends is one of the key factors that are very important to SICK OF IT ALL, so asking Parada for the striking front cover was an obvious choice. "There is no reason to burn bridges in this business," says drummer drummer Armand Majidi. "Our history with Ernie Parada goes back to the late eighties, so working with him, there is a kinship that makes things easier to communicate."

Singer Lou Koller and Parada came up with the idea of doing monster-movie-styled art as the cover. "The dragon climbing the Empire State was a concept I always wanted to see brought to life, so the two ideas were destined to come together this way," Lou says.

SICK OF IT ALL and Tue Madsen, who mixed and mastered "Wake The Sleeping Dragon!", have maintained a long-lasting relationship based on understanding, friendship and most importantly, good results — three factors any band would be very happy with. Jerry Farley also became a very important part of the creation of this album. After working with him at Nova Studios in Staten Island, New York, they went for a closer approach on this album. "This is the first time we've ever had a producer involved from start to finish, including the songwriting process," the band says. "His objective viewpoints helped settle a lot of little issues that could have easily become stumbling blocks, and the songs themselves ended up benefitting from them."

SICK OF IT ALL's latest release was the "When The Smoke Clears" EP, which came out in November 2016 via Century Media Records.

BLOODBATH: Video For 'Chainsaw Lullaby' Song From 'The Arrow Of Satan Is Drawn' Album

BLOODBATH: Video For 'Chainsaw Lullaby' Song From 'The Arrow Of Satan Is Drawn' Album

The official video for the song "Chainsaw Lullaby" from the demonic death metal supergroup BLOODBATH can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's upcoming fifth album, "The Arrow Of Satan Is Drawn", which will be released on October 26 via Peaceville.

Recorded by BLOODBATH and Karl Daniel Liden at Ghost Ward, City Of Glass and Tri-Lamb Studios during the first half of this foul year of our Lord, the album is the second with Nick Holmes (PARADISE LOST) on vocals. If 2014's "Grand Morbid Funeral" was a thick spray of deathly noise, on "The Arrow Of Satan Is Drawn", it is the rotten, fetid state of the world and our inevitable doom that is casting a looming shadow over proceedings. With world leaders threatening nuclear annihilation in 140 characters over social media, capitalism tearing itself apart, a wilful march into a surveillance state via handy pocket spying devices, a shifting climate that appears to literally be trying to kill us… It's all fuelled BLOODBATH's newest ode to filth.

"What are we presenting with this album? Humanity's unfaltering march prone towards downfall," declares guitarist Anders "Blakkheim" Nyström (KATATONIA). "The threat to this world isn't from far beyond the sun, the enemy is right here, within the walls. Only the god of emptiness will survive us all. The arrow of Satan is drawn!"

Right from the opening notes of the scything "Fleischmann", this sense of impending horror is carved into the music. The brutal "Wayward Samaritan" is anything but merciful, while "Deader" is a truly morbid workout, and "Morbid Antichrist" summons the spirits of those two classic death metal outfits perfectly. By the time things reach an atomic conclusion on the evil rock'n'roll of "Chainsaw Lullaby", you'll have been sucked into BLOODBATH's unholy world forever.

here's an extra nasty layer on "The Arrow Of Satan Is Drawn". This time, among the usual chainsaw riffs and blasts, the darkness of Blakkheim's words is also reflected in the addition of new guitarist Joakim Karlsson of Swedish black metal plague CRAFT. It's a step forward that's only given the band's already fearsome fangs extra rabid bite.

He's not the only extra face getting covered in gore. "Bloodicide" — quite literally meaning "The Killing Of Blood" — features a full house of British death metal guest stars, with CARCASS's Jeff Walker, BOLT THROWER/MEMORIAM singer Karl Willetts and CANCER's John Walker all lending their larynxes to the madness.

"It wasn't deliberately planned to be just british guests, but as it randomly turned out that way, it became a really cool feat!" laughs Blakkheim. "Nick [Holmes], Jeff, Karl and John are all legends respectively within the U.K. death metal scene and we're proud to bring them all together on our little old school soiree to tribute the days of old.

"There's no mitigating circumstances coming your way any time soon," he adds. "The world is a mad place full of darkness, horror, disease and terror! Hell on Earth is real and not just limited to fiction. The dark ages transcend all frontiers, ever present but yet unseen."

"The Arrow Of Satan Is Drawn" track listing:

01. Fleischmann [03:38]

02. Bloodicide [04:56]

03. Wayward Samaritan [03:39]
