CANCER BATS Surprise-Release New Album, 'The Spark That Moves'Canadian hardcore metal punks CANCER BATS have just surprise-released their sixth studio album, "The Spark That Moves". Choosing to forgo the traditional lead ups and teaser singles, CANCER BATS, with no forewarning, released "The Spark That Moves" in its entirety on all digital services at 12:01 this morning, with vinyl and CDs ready to ship out to fans the same day.
The album is now available through the band's own record label Bat Skull Records in partnership with New Damage Records in Canada and the U.S.
"We were just tired of waiting," said frontman Liam Joseph Cormier. "We spent all of 2017 working hard on this album, all while playing shows and talking with our fans, who were constantly asking, 'When can we hear new music?' We figured why make anyone wait any longer, let's just drop the entire new album all at once," Cormier enthused. "I know as a fan, I just want to hear everything right away, let me buy the record right now! We figured, why not release our own music the way we want."
On top of releasing all 11 tracks off of their new record, CANCER BATS decided to pull "a bit of a Beyonce" and have dropped a music video for every song on the album.
"The Spark That Moves" track listing:
01. Gatekeeper
02. Brightest Days
03. We Run Free
04. Space & Time
05. Bed of Nails
06. Headwound
07. Fear Will Kill Us All
08. Rattlesnake
09. Can’t Sleep
10. Heads Will Roll
11. Winterpeg
"The Spark That Moves" follows the band's critically successful album "Searching For Zero" (2015), which landed CANCER BATS their fourth Juno Award nomination for Metal/Hard Music Album. Recorded in Winnipeg, Manitoba under the watchful eyes and ears of JP Peters (PROPAGANDHI) at his studio Private Ear and mixed by longtime collaborator and award-winning producer Eric Ratz (producer of "Hail Destroyer", "Bears Mayors Scraps & Bones" and "Dead Set On Living"), "The Spark That Moves" is CANCER BATS at its finest. Combining all of the elements from the band's last five releases, the 11 tracks that make up the album blend together the group's most melodic moments with their most aggressive, becoming a savage sprint of hardcore, punk, sludge, and metal that leaves the listener craving more. Drummer Mike Peters and lead bass player Jaye Schwarzer seamlessly collide together like two wild beasts, while guitarist Scott Middleton blasts his signature layers of squeals and destruction over top. All of this thunderously led by singer Cormier's now fully formed melodic growl as he fires both positive, inspiring lyrics and scorching damnation as displayed on album opener "Gate Keeper". Without skipping a beat, they fire on track 2, "Brightest Days", shifting back to a classic BATS positive party anthem. The record seamlessly keeps this pace of raw, catchy, anthemic, metal and punk. Halfway through it breathes with the melodic standout "Bed Of Nails", a touch of desert rock they add into the mix before diving back into the chaos that is "Head Wound". This pace continues right until the crushing album closer "Winterpeg", an ode to the very city they recorded in, featuring guest vocals from Chris Hannah of the legendary Winnipeg punk band PROPAGANDHI.
CANCER BATS are currently on tour celebrating the 10th anniversary of their acclaimed sophomore album "Hail Destroyer". The band will play two sold-out shows in Toronto this weekend at Lee's Palace before heading to the U.K. to play four back-to-back shows at the Underworld in London. CANCER BATS will return to Canada to continue the "10 Years Of Hail Destroyer" tour in Alberta in May.

CHRIS REIFERT's VIOLATION WOUND: 'Fearmonger' And 'State Of Alarm' Songs StreamingVIOLATION WOUND, the punk rock/metal band formed by Chris Reifert (DEATH, ABSCESS, AUTOPSY) on guitar and vocals, will release its new album, "With Man In Charge", on April 27 via Peaceville Records.
Two songs from the disc, "Fearmonger" and "State Of Alarm", can be streamed below.
VIOLATION WOUND was born in a beer- and whiskey-soaked basement in June of 2013, driven to create 100 percent real punk rock. Nothing trendy, nothing wimpy, nothing pretentious, just fuelled by aggression and kick-ass riffs. VIOLATION WOUND is not interested in modern, plastic or safe crap, instead honoring the raw, dirty and pissed off ways of the original innovators, while carving out a path all their own.
Featuring Reifert alongside bassist Joe Orterry and drummer Matt O'Connell, "With Man In Charge" is VIOLATION WOUND's first release for Peaceville, offering psychotic blasts of punk-injected madness over 20 tracks. Joining VIOLATION WOUND on "With Man In Charge" are guests Athenar of U.S. act MIDNIGHT and Dave Hill, having recently collaborated with Chris in the rock act PAINTED DOLL. The disc was recorded at Earhammer Studios in Oakland, California with Greg Wilkinson (AUTOPSY), featuring cover artwork created by Wes Benscoter (AUTOPSY, SLAYER, NILE).
Reifert states: "We at VIOLATION WOUND headquarters are really fucking psyched to be working with Peaceville Records.
"We poured a lot of outrage, madness, aggression, and just plain ass-kicking into our new album, 'With Man In Charge', and we think our intentions will be heard loud and clear for anyone who gets their eardrums wrapped around this quickfire distorted assault. This isn't just an attempt to relive old punk days gone by or to latch on to whatever the hell people are calling hardcore these days. It's insane music for insane times by insane people."
The first track to be released is "Stalemate Suicide". Reifert states about the song: "Ah, humans. If only we could learn to deal with each other intelligently instead of putting ourselves on the brink of potential nuclear war over toxic egos and playground insults. Should we build a bigger bomb? What could possibly go wrong?"

MELIAH RAGE Premier "Dark As Your Thoughts" Music Video; Idol Hands Album Out This FridayMeliah Rage have released a video for "Dark As Your Thoughts", from their upcoming new album Idol Hands. Watch the clip below.
The ninth studio album of the US power/thrash veterans from Boston will be out on April 27th (at the Keep It True festival). It was a long time in the making as this time the band's leader, composer and guitarist Anthony Nichols wanted to leave no stone unturned to ensure it sounds just like he had envisioned it. And the delay was really worth it - it sounds huge!
This album marks the return of Paul Souza (the vocal powerhouse that can be heard on the band's three older studio albums) whose more melodic voice complements the music perfectly, and it features some of the most inspired songwriting and best guitar work in the band's history. It's still most comparable to Metallica, but fans of Metal Church, Wargasm, Xentrix, Flotsam And Jetsam, Heretic and Testament should be pleased with it too.
Says the band: "At the Keep It True festival we'll have a small table space for selling our releases, so if you're there and would like to buy the new Meliah Rage CD (or any other of our releases), just come up to our stand!
"Until next Thursday night, May 3rd midnight Standard Central European Time (UTC+1), you can pre-order this CD from our Shop. page with German shipping rates, which are especially convenient for orders from Germany and from outside of Europe. We made it available also in convenient bundles with the previous studio album Warrior and/or the rereleased at the same time Dead To The World 2018 Edition CD.
"And, as always, those who don't collect CDs, can pre-order the album as digital download (in lossless formats) from our Bandcamp page. Later on the album will be distributed digitally by CD Baby and made available also from iTunes, Amazon MP3, eMusic and other retailers."
Idol Hands tracklisting:
“The Kill-All Rule”
“Dark As Your Thoughts”
“Idol Hands”
“Crushed Beneath My Heel”
“Sentenced To Life”
“Absolute Power”
“Infernal Bleeding”
“Where Darkness Lies”
“Dark As Your Thoughts” video:
“Infernal Bleeding”:
Production credits:
Produced, mixed and mastered by: Peter Rutcho
Rhythym guitars: recorded by John Bean Cats Liar Studios
Drums: recorded by Joel Hopkins at Red Devil Studios
Lead guitar and bass: recorded by Peter Rutcho
Vocals: recorded and produced by Rich Spillberg at Solstice Studios
BraveWords flew to Boston recently to witness the filming of two videos from the album; “Dark As Your Thoughts” and “Idol Hands”, produced by Brad Pichi and Brandon Maxham from Omnidawn Productions. Photos by Sephora Hosein from the journey can be viewed in the gallery here.
The event marked the worldwide debut of the entire opus, easily the band’s finest hour to date. Make no mistake, Idol Hands is a veritable feast for power metal fans, complete with Nichols' unmatched rhythmic mastery and Souza’s versatile voice. Still killing to survive... 30 years strong!
And yes, the album title is quite significant, given the fact that Nichols broke his wrist in late 2013 and was uncertain if he’d play guitar again after three serious surgeries. Meliah Rage is rounded off by original guitarist Jim Koury, drummer Stuart Dowie and bassist Darren Lourie.
About reuniting with singer Paul Souza, Nichols says: “We’ve always been in touch. Paul and I will be friends until death. Of course we will bicker about this and that, but that’s what singers and guitar players do. Joe Perry and Steven Tyler will die in the same coffin, but they will spat with each other. That’s what you do.”
“We are always texting about the Celtics, the Patriots or how are the kids doing,” Souza adds. “We are big time sports junkies. We go back and forth about all kinds of different things. We are going to be friends forever.”
On a side note, you'll notice the surprise appearance during the video shoot by original singer Mike Munro!
Watch for a major BraveWords feature on Meliah Rage in the coming weeks.

IMMORTAL To Release 'Northern Chaos Gods' Album In JulyOn July 6, Norwegian black metallers IMMORTAL — now consisting of lyricist/guitarist Demonaz (real name Harald Nævdal) and drummer Horgh (real name Reidar Horghagen) — will unleash their first studio album since "All Shall Fall", released almost nine years ago. The legendary band has forged "Northern Chaos Gods", an album which takes IMMORTAL back to its roots. The album features eight new tracks consisting of 45 minutes of merciless speed and icy darkness, all massive songs in the true IMMORTAL way.
The disc was produced by Peter Tägtgren (Abyss Studio), who also helmed IMMORTAL's "At The Heart Of Winter", "Damned In Black", "Sons Of Northern Darkness" and "All Shall Fall" LPs.
"We are eternally dedicated to IMMORTAL and our own musical past," Demonaz and Horgh saidin a statement. "The album is conceptual, and the first step in the reclaiming of our past grimness and attitude. Loyalty to the fans and our own musical history is very significant in this. Our new album will soon be available, with songs from the very gates of Blashyrkh — the realm of all darkness and cold."
The band has once again been focusing on making its music without much outside influence.
"We have put a massive amount of energy into this, and wanted to deliver our absolutely best," Demonaz and Horgh said. "It has been a pleasure to finish the studio process and most of all being stoked about the final result. Peter Tägtgren has done an outstanding job in producing and mixing it. We now look forward to have it released, and are excited to share our ninth full-length with you all."
IMMORTAL will first release a seven-inch vinyl single of its first new song, the album's title track, "Northern Chaos Gods". It will be available in three different colors and is strictly limited edition. The digital version of the track will be available on May 11, while the physical single is out on May 25, in the following editions:
* white vinyl (limited to 500 pieces; mailorder exclusive)
* red vinyl (limited to 300 pieces; mailorder exclusive)
Demonaz is now also handling the vocals for IMMORTAL following the 2014 split with frontman Olve Eikemo (a.k.a. Abbath).
In addition to Demonaz (vocals, guitar) and Horgh (drums), IMMORTAL's new disc features Tägtgren on session bass.
IMMORTAL in 2016 said that the delay in getting the new music out to the fans was largely a result of the split with Abbath. "From 2010 until 2014, IMMORTAL wrote all the songs for the successor to 'All Shall Fall', but when ex- member Abbath left the band in 2014, he changed the lyrics, songtitles and recorded these songs for his so-called 'solo album,'" Demonaz and Horgh explained. "We had to focus on making a new album nearly from scratch, which is the main reason why things have taken this much time."
IMMORTAL's core trio consisting of Abbath, Demonaz and Horgh had been together since 1996 and was responsible for crafting the band's last five albums: "Blizzard Beasts" (1997), "At The Heart Of Winter" (1999), "Damned In Black" (2000), "Sons Of Northern Darkness" (2002) and the 2009 reunion album "All Shall Fall". 42

MEGADETH Launch Pre-Order Video Trailer For Killing Is My Business... And Business Is Good - The Final KillCentury Media and Legacy Recordings recently announced the 2018 deluxe reissue of Megadeth’s classic debut album, Killing Is My Business... And Business Is Good, due on June 8th. A pre-order video trailer can now be seen below.
Killing Is My Business... And Business Is Good - The Final Kill has been completely restored to Dave Mustaine’s intended vision. Remixed by veteran metal mixer, Mark Lewis (Whitechapel) and remastered by Ted Jensen for an optimal listening experience, the 2018 version reveals unheard parts and performances throughout the record.
This rare gem includes the full album, along with 7 live audio tracks from VHS tapes found in Dave Mustaine’s own attic! In addition to the bonus live tracks, the 2018 reissue also features Megadeth’s 1984 3-track demo and the once removed cover of Lee Hazelwood’s, “The Boots” that has been added back to the record with recut vocals intended to maintain the integrity of both the original song and Megadeth’s own snarling rendition.
The package is further enhanced by a new album cover featuring a fully executed sculpture of the iconic skull that has been lost over the many years since the album’s initial release. The packaging also includes classic flyers and band photos pulled from their archive of timeless metal moments from Megadeth’s storied 35 year history. The Final Kill is the complete vision of main man, Dave Mustaine, who has contributed liner notes delving into the struggles during that time period as well as some of the surprising moments during the remixing sessions.
“I am just as much amazed at the music we made as I am at the pure fact that we survived it all!” - Dave Mustaine

THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER: 'Kings Of The Night World' Video Released"Kings Of The Night World", the new video from THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's eighth full-length album, "Nightbringers", which was released last October via Metal Blade Records.
Rather than meticulously plan things out or stick rigidly to any kind of template, when it comes to writing, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER prefer to let things happen organically. In the hands of guitarist Brian Eschbach — who co-founded the band with frontman Trevor Strnad in 2001 — and new recruit Brandon Ellis (ARSIS, ex-CANNABIS CORPSE), "Nightbringers" is rich with dynamic riffs that are at once fresh and classic THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, resulting in a collection that shifts through many moods and effortlessly incorporates various elements of extreme metal. While Strnad explores a variety of themes and ideas with his lyrics, they are united by the album's title, which embraces a tenet that has been central to THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER's output since the very beginning.
"Death metal and nighttime are synonymous to me," Strnad explains. "We are the rulers of the darkened hours that the Christian good fears. A lot of archaic ideas that are still upheld — such as marriage and monogamy — came from Christianity, whether people want to acknowledge it or not, and to me, death metal has always been bucking that. It's 'being-the-villain music', because we're the enemy of Christianity, the enemy of all that is good and traditional. Death metal is for free thinkers, it's for showing people the path to inner strength and operating on your own will, instead of being told what to do and living in fear, and songs like the title track and 'Kings Of The Night World' are about leading a legion of awakened minds into battle."
This summer, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER and WHITECHAPEL will embark on a North American co-headlining tour. The trek, which runs from June 8 through July 14, will find THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER performing "Nightbringers" front to back and more, while WHITECHAPEL will play its classic "This Is Exile" in full to celebrate the record's tenth anniversary. Support will be provided by FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE, AVERSIONS CROWN and SHADOW OF INTENT. 1

“Anyone who likes a more classic thrash sound, and longs for those days, just like we do, will dig this album. Since we are from that era, we are not trying to bring back that style of music, we are simply continuing what we know and do best!” comments vocalist / guitarist Armin Kamal.
Describing Infrared’s sound as “thrashy, aggressive, melodic, heavy, and tight”, guitarist/vocalist Armin Kamal explains that Infrared’s inspirations run deep.
“The Big Four will stand out as we have been described as a band with a bay area sound…But our influences are truly rooted in ‘70s and early ‘80s metal. Accept, Scorpions, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and Judas Priest are all bands that laid the foundation and the love of metal for us!”
Armin is stoked for fans to hear Infrared’s new Saviours album.

LIGHT THIS CITY – Title Track From Upcoming Terminal Bloom Album StreamingBay Area melodic death metal outfit Light This City has released the title track to the band's upcoming fifth LP, and first in a decade, Terminal Bloom. The band has also announced a run of West Coast tour dates supporting the LP's release.
Light This City returns with ten tracks that capture the band's tendency towards extreme melody and intensity, honoring the Swedish sound of the '90s. Having spent the past decade performing and touring in numerous other bands, the five members of Light This City have only honed and shaped their skills and musicianship since their 2008-released Stormchaser. Terminal Bloom was recorded from December 2017 through February 2018 with Zack Ohren (Suffocation, Cattle Decapitation, Fallujah) at Castle Ultimate Studios in Oakland, California, as with their previous four albums, and is wrapped in the vibrant cover artwork of Tony Midi.
Offers Light This City's Ben Murray, "We're super excited to share the title track from the upcoming record with you all! 'Terminal Bloom' is one of the heavier songs on the album, with basically zero melody -- just pure thrash! We wanted to release a total banger for the second single to show our fans the diversity of heaviness within the record, and I think this one represents the influences we drive from classic Bay Area thrash and death metal. The song is definitely a ripper, and an unrelenting example of the pace of the album. We hope you enjoy it! Turn it up loud."

SEBASTIAN BACH Is 'Cutting Demos' For Next Studio AlbumSebastian Bach has begun "cutting demos" for one of the tunes for his next studio album. According to the former SKID ROW singer, the song was written by former MARILYN MANSON and current ROB ZOMBIE guitarist John 5, "and it rips."
A video update from Bach can be seen below.
Sebastian previously stated that "the mission" of his next record "is to capture a cool vibe, and I think that really involves live drummers playing — not just a drum machine, which seems to be too pervasive today in music."
According to Bach, he is still "in the writing and demoing stage" for the follow-up to 2014's "Give 'Em Hell". "I'm in the process of changing record labels," he said. "My manager, Rick Sales, wants me to have a good demo that he can take to people to play for them. Right now we have seven songs. Two of them are by John 5, and I also have Steve Stevens [BILLY IDOL] sending me some tunes, and Billy Morrison [BILLY IDOL]. And Brent Woods [VINCE NEIL]. And we will see which riffs make the cut."
Sebastian also talked about the inspiration for his forthcoming album. He explained: "My tastes have changed a bit since my doctor told me that if I wanna keep my hearing in great shape, I have to turn the music down sometimes. He told me this a couple of years back. And since he told me that, I've taken his advice and I don't crank my music as loud as it will go anymore, and that's all I can tell you. So I've gotta make a record that I like. So I don't think it's gonna be a death metal record; I think it's gonna be more uplifting and fun. And also real people playing real music — that's very important to me."
Bach was particularly thrilled to be once again working with John 5, whom he described as "just incredible. Everybody knows him and he is one of the greatest guitar players in rock and roll.
"Some people always want me to reunite with the old band, but think of it this way — I get to make records with John 5. So that's pretty amazing," he added.
Bach hasn't released a full-length disc since "Give 'Em Hell", which was criticized by some for sounding "too modern" and a departure from his '80s hard rock past.
Sebastian told Australia's Hysteria magazine last fall that he wanted to make what he called his "'California record,' which is probably gonna be more concerned about the vocals than the guitar, the drums and the bass. The last records I loved that I've done, but they're kind of similar. So now it's time for me to do a different-sounding kind of record," he said. "So that's what I'm doing. I'm into acoustic guitar right now a lot. And that's not to say if somebody plays me some wicked crazy riff that I won't do it, but I'm trying to make a record that's gonna put me into the next phase of music. That's what I'm working on now."
Bach went on to defend his decision to make a softer-sounding album this time around. He said: "The thing is that my records, mostly, have had a lot of aggression in them, and I'm not feeling aggressive right now. So I'm not gonna pretend to channel some anger that's not real. But, you know, there's things that I am angry at, like the climate being destroyed — I'm angry at that. And the first song that I just recorded has lyrics kind of to do with that. But people like my ballad voice; that's, really, at the end of the day, what people like to hear me sing like. And I like that too, and that's the way I'm feeling right now, so that's the [way the] music [is] coming out — it's got a lot of harmonies, and the vocals sound great, and that's what I'm gonna give you in your ears… It's gonna be focused on the vocals, harmonies, but it's gonna sound like me, 'cause that's all I can sound like."
Asked to elaborate on his comment that he is writing a "California record," Bach said: "Well, you know, California has a great history of music that sounds like Southern California. You know, THE DOORS' 'L.A. Woman'. The sound of, like, STEELY DAN, VAN HALEN, MÖTLEY CRÜE… Los Angeles has a great sound of its own, and I wanna make my record. You know, THE EAGLES … Okay, there you go. My next record will be a mix between THE EAGLES and MÖTLEY CRÜE. [Laughs] Both [THE EAGLES and MÖTLEY CRÜE] sound California, and I want… I live here now, so I wanna make a record that sounds like it's made here. I'm not into Pro Tools and the computer making it all perfect. On this record, it's real players, recording real human beings. No drum machines — I'm not into that. I want real guys playing real instruments. That's for sure."
Sebastian's autobiography, "18 And Life On Skid Row", came out in December 2016 via Dey Street Books (formerly It Books), an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers.

W.E.T. Feat. JEFF SCOTT SOTO: 'Kings On Thunder Road' VideoThe official video for the song "Kings On Thunder Road" from the Swedish/American melodic hard rock supergroup W.E.T., which features vocalist Jeff Scott Soto (SONS OF APOLLO, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA, TALISMAN), guitarist/vocalist Erik Martensson (ECLIPSE, NORDIC UNION, AMMUNITION) and guitarist Robert Säll (WORK OF ART), can be seen below. The track is taken from W.E.T.'s third album, "Earthrage", which was released on March 23 via Frontiers Records Srl.
W.E.T. — whose moniker is an acronym of the names of the acts that the group's core members are best known for (WORK OF ART, ECLIPSE, TALISMAN) — released its acclaimed self-titled debut album in 2009. The band's sophomore effort, "Rise Up", surfaced in 2013, followed by the live CD/DVD "One Live - In Stockholm" in 2014.
Now, the group — which also features drummer Robban Bäck (MUSTASCH) and guitarist Magnus Henriksson (ECLIPSE) — returns with an album that label owner Serafino Perugino claims is "by far one of the best records in Frontiers's history."
"Earthrage" comes in the midst of absolute creative high points from Mårtensson (coming off a highly successful new ECLIPSE album and preparing for the release of the self-titled AMMUNITION album), Soto (coming off his own successful solo album, plus the debut of supergroup SONS OF APOLLO), and Säll (having just completed the production of a forthcoming record with Steve Overland of FM and about to start work on the highly anticipated fourth WORK OF ART record).
The debut W.E.T. album in 2009 was one of the rare occasions in the modern music business when a band created by the vision of a record label executive actually managed to create a genuine wave of enthusiasm and interest from fans and the media alike. To the point where it went beyond the band's own expectations and pushed the musicians to raise their game to new levels. The members initially "thought hardly anyone would care except maybe the die-hard fans from the three bands the name W.E.T. came from," but here we are on album number three with the fanbase only growing...
The key element to the success of W.E.T. has been the ability of the band to craft melodic hard rock of the highest order and drive the genre into the future. Prepare for the next step in this tremendous band's evolution!
"Earthrage" track listing:
01. Watch The Fire
02. Burn
03. Kings On Thunder Road
04. Elegantly Wasted
05. Urgent
06. Dangerous
07. Calling Out Your Name
08. Heart Is On The Line
09. I Don't Wanna Play That Game
10. The Burning Pain Of Love
11. The Never-Ending Retraceable Dream
Soto told 100 Percent Rock Magazine last year that W.E.T. is "a project. It's not a band in the sense of touring and we get together and do the things that bands do. That's why we only have a handful of dates under our belts to date. We've never actually done a tour together, because it's three completely different bands that are just so busy all the time. And Erik is as bad as I am — Erik Mårtensson. He's in several bands and he's always producing and writing and jumping from one to the next. We've never tried to actually follow up as a band."

BLACK WIZARD Unveil "Livin' Oblivion" VideoVancouver heavy metal / sludge titans Black Wizard have unveiled their new video for "Livin' Oblivion," the title track of their latest full-length, out now on Listenable Records.
"Livin' Oblivion" was filmed and edited by Willow Gamberg of Stone Mountain Films with color treatment by Rob Zawistowski of RZ Cinematography.
Stream Black Wizard's Livin' Oblivion in its entirety via the Listenable Records' Bandcamp audio player below:
Livin' Oblivion by BLACK WIZARD
Hailing from Vancouver, British Columbia, Black Wizard was forged in 2009 between high school friends. Founding members vocalist / guitarist Adam Grant and drummer Eugene Parkomenko worked underwhelming construction jobs at the time, passing the days to the sounds of Thin Lizzy, Deep Purple, Witch, and Electric Wizard. Today, Parkomenko and Grant are accompanied by guitarist Danny Stokes and basisst Evan Joel. Having followed a true DIY aesthetic, the band has released three full-length LPs along with a 7" single independently and sold over five thousand copies worldwide. In classic Wiz fashion, latest studio recording Livin' Oblivion has evolved from their previous efforts boasting a bigger, heavier, sharper, and louder approach than ever before. Faster thrash elements have been added, while staying true to that sultry, Thin Lizzy-esque twin lead vibe throughout.
Livin' Oblivion centers itself on the obliteration or slow decay of one's self, morals, and life as we know it. "We are living in an age where the powers of the world are taking steps backwards and moving away from a positive future," elaborates the band. "There's a large number of disenfranchised youth and young adults who would rather live their lives in oblivion - drinking, drugs, partying etc. - than chasing any kind of future or dreams, simply because the rest of the world seems to be falling apart around them."
Enjoy the band's performance video for "Feast Or Famine":
