Professionally filmed video footage of METALLICA performing the song "Confusion" on September 16 at Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany can be seen below.

As previously reported, METALLICA will reissue its third album, "Master Of Puppets", on November 10 via the band's own Blackened Recordings. The LP has been remastered for the most advanced sound quality and will be available in various digital and physical configurations.

The "Master Of Puppets" reissue will be available physically as a Standard LP, Standard CD, 3 CD Expanded Edition, and Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set and digitally as a Standard CD (available to stream and download), a 3 CD Expanded Edition (available for download only), and a Digital Deluxe Box Set (available for streaming and download). The Expanded Edition will include previously unreleased demos, rough mixes, interviews, live tracks, and a 28-page booklet. The Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set will include a 108-page hardcover book including never before seen photos, outtakes and previously unreleased interviews, three LPs, ten CDs, a cassette, two DVDs, a lithograph, a folder with handwritten lyrics, and a set of six buttons. "Master Of Puppets" was released on February 24, 1986 and was the first album METALLICA recorded after signing a major label deal with Elektra Records.

The set only reached No. 29 on the Billboard album chart but has sold over six million copies in the U.S. since.

It is the last record to feature bassist Cliff Burton, who was killed later that year in a tour bus crash.

Several songs from the album are still staples of METALLICA's live set, including "Battery", "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)" and the title track.

Many fans consider it METALLICA's finest album, a fact that the band acknowledged by playing it in its entirety on a European tour in 2006.

MEGADETH leader Dave Mustaine was interviewed this morning (Friday, September 15) when he made an appearance on the New York Stock Exchange facade balcony. You can watch the chat below.

Asked what is next for him and MEGADETH, Mustaine said: "We're gonna do this [North American] tour with the SCOPRIONS, then we have a run down in South America. And then we're gonna take time off — the tour is over — and get ready to do the next record. I'm working on a video game that encompasses a lot of the band's history and a lot of little riffs that we've never used before, stuff like that, and just prepare for the next tour, next campaign. We owe our record label one more record, so we, at least, are gonna be doing one more record. I don't see the end in sight for us, because the band's getting along really well right now, and we're playing great."

MEGADETH's tour with SCORPIONS kicked off last night (Thursday, September) 14 in Reading, Pennsylvania and will conclude on October 15 in Tampa, Florida. The sixteen-date trek, dubbed the "Crazy World Tour", celebrates SCORPIONS' 1990 LP of the same name.

MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson recently confirmed that the band is contemplating returning to the studio at the end of the year to begin work on the follow-up to 2016's "Dystopia" album.

MEGADETH's upcoming effort will mark the band's first release to feature new drummer Dirk Verbeuren, who officially joined the group more than a year ago.

"Dystopia" was the first album to feature Brazilian guitarist Kiko Loureiro, best known for his work with ANGRA.

METALLICA played the song "ManUNkind" live for the first time during its September 10 concert at AccorHotels Arena in Paris, France. Professionaly filmed video footage of the performance can be seen below.

"ManUNkind" is taken from METALLICA's latest album, "Hardwired… To Self-Destruct", which came out last November.

METALLICA frontman James Hetfield explained the song's meaning to the band's fan-club magazine So What!: "[This song is] biblical, the Garden of Eden. 'Wow, you've got it all, but you want more?' You've got all this greatness and then it's torn… the biblical story… but let's get back to the goodness of man. Man is sinful and has to crawl and try to make up, it's like we're always down below in the higher power's eyes, [and] we have to prove ourselves over and over daily that we're not evil. And having faith in this world [where] everyone's out for themselves. Finding the negative in a bunch of stuff is… at the end of the day, have faith in man. Instead of just blaming it on mankind. Yeah, there are some unkind people out there, but having faith that we get through that, or they learn about it, or somehow they become more part of the solution instead of the problem."

The official video for "ManUNkind" was directed by Jonas Åkerlund, who originally worked with METALLICA on the clips for "Turn The Page" and "Whiskey In The Jar".

Åkerlund was the original drummer of BATHORY, one of the first black metal bands, who made his mark directing music videos for artists from Madonna and THE ROLLING STONES to MAROON 5 and Beyoncé. These have won him a host of awards including several Grammys, an MTV VMA, MVPA Hall Of Fame award and more. Åkerlund has also directed a number of feature films, including cult favorite "Spun" starring Jason Schwartzman, Mickey Rourke, Brittany Murphy and John Leguizamo.

"Hardwired...To Self-Destruct" was produced by Greg Fidelman with frontman James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich. The band recorded the disc at its own studio.

The European leg of METALLICA's "WorldWired" tour kicked off in Copenhagen, Denmark on September 2 and will run through November. After a break, the trek will pick up again on February 1, 2018 in Lisbon, Portugal, and continue through May, finishing up in Helsinki, Finland.

"Lost In The Moment", the new video from the Michigan post-hardcore outfit WE CAME AS ROMANS, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's fifth album, "Cold Like War", which will be released on October 20 through SharpTone Records.

Buzzworthy metal group Tetrarch have been making huge moves this summer! The band is about to wrap up their current North American tour with metal giants DevilDriverand fellow support artists 36 Crazyfists, Cane Kill and Uncured, and next Friday, September 29, they will release their new full-length album, Freak.

Four years after Adrian Vandenberg made a spectacular comeback with VANDENBERG'S MOONKINGS, the band returns with a sophomore album, simply titled "MK II". Due on November 3 via the Mascot Label Group, the disc has all the qualities of the debut: once again the four-piece band manages to create a perfect mix of vintage seventies hard rock and current styles of heavy rock. Adrian Vandenberg shines as a bonafide guitar virtuoso, while the rest of the band also delivers in spades. Yet "MK II" has even more to offer than the highly praised first album. It shows how the band grew into a strong unit during the world tours of the recent years. "The last few years have been very important indeed," confirms Adrian Vandenberg, who previously gained world fame as the guitarist and songwriter of VANDENBERG and WHITESNAKE. "We just got to know each other when we recorded out debut album. I think we all exceeded each other's expectations. But you really get to know each other while on the road. It was then that I really became impressed by the abundance of energy that this band has. We tried to capture this on our new album. At the same time, we all grew individually. I am really amazed by the way Jan Hoving has grown even more in his role as a singer and as a frontman. "The fantastic response to our debut received also gave us a major boost," said Adrian. "We felt confident to loosen things up quite a bit. Sem and Mart really go for it of at the end of 'The Fire'. Previously, I would have called for a fade-out in the mix, but this time we decided to keep it and put it on the record. It somehow reminded me of the '70s CREAM and LED ZEPPELIN jam sessions that nobody seems to do anymore these days. I allowed myself to rip all over the end section of 'If You Can't Handle The Heat'. I've always found that as a guitar player you should be able to tell a story in about twenty seconds, so this time it was great to break this rule for a change and let myself go completely. Never before in my career I have done this on an album. All in all, working on this album was a wonderful experience. The notorious 'second album syndrome' never reared its ugly head." The release of "MK II" will be supported with club tours and appearances on festivals worldwide. "I've been a professional musician for over forty years, but I am still as eager as I have always been and still have the feeling that I'm just getting started," added Adrian. NOCTURNAL RITES previously announced plans to enter the studio in 2011 to record the follow-up to 2007's "The 8th Sin" album.

Guitarist Nils Norberg left NOCTURNAL RITES in June 2008 and was later replaced by Christoffer Rörland. As of 2012, Rörland became the new guitarist in SABATON, while his spot in NOCTURNAL RITES was taken over by Per Nilsson.

"The 8th Sin" in 2007 landed on the Japanese album chart at position No. 68 (No. 28 on "international" chart).

Melancholy Beast, the classic debut album from Pyramaze will be reissued on CD/digital on November 24th in Europe and North America through Inner Wound Recordings. The album was originally released in 2004.

The re-issue includes an extended 20 page booklet that features track commentary and album history written by Pyramaze guitarist and founder Michael Kammeyer. The reissue also includes the bonus track "The Wizard" that was originally only included on the Japanese edition of the album.

Eric Eycke, who sang on CORROSION OF CONFORMITY's 1984 debut album, "Eye For An Eye", has passed away.

Just prior to his death, Eycke had reportedly been in hospice with various maladies.

C.O.C. said in a statement that Eric's "broad musical knowledge shaped the band's early identity," adding that "[his] energy is evident on our first hardcore-era album, 'Eye For An Eye'."

"This simply does not seem real," the group continued. "We traveled far and wide in a shitty van, blowing up stages together, trying to live up to the likes of the BAD BRAINS and BLACK FLAG."

CORROSION OF CONFORMITY bassist Mike Dean told IndyWeek in a 2012 interview that Eric Eycke "was the kind of singer that people would be into hearing at that point. He was a hardcore kind of tough dude. Never could hear him; he would usually be running around and miss the microphone."

Eycke, who has been described as the most agitated, energetic vocalist C.O.C. ever had, said about his approach to the band's early live performances: "In Richmond, we opened up for HÜSKER DÜ. Then we opened up for DEAD KENNEDYS down at the Pier, and I had already heard about the DEAD KENNEDYS so I was kind of in awe. I was, like, "Damn, Jello's [Biafra] here." I remember we finished our set, and I walked off and he just looked at me and he was, like, 'Goddamn, blown off the stage again.' That always stuck with me. If that's what it takes, then yeah, I can do that."

Often characterized as a high-velocity hardcore record, "Eye For An Eye" was notable for including a punkified torching of JUDAS PRIEST's cover of Peter Green's "Green Manalishi". "It didn't really sound like us," CORROSION OF CONFORMITY drummer Reed Mullin later said about the album. "Well, we had done two or three songs at that place before, for the 'Why Are We Here?' compilation, the seven-inch. And that sounded pretty good, it sounded kind of like us because we were actually kind of heavy for that time. The only other hardcore band that was playing that stuff was VOID, I guess."

Eric, for his part, told IndyWeek that "Eye For An Eye" "could have been so much better. Reed was like a kid in a candy store. He went back in and he remixed it after-hours. We did our time; we went home at six. He came in at seven and worked until ten. That's how we ended up with that product, and no, I'm not happy about it. But it is what it is. If you like it, you like it."

"Eye For An Eye" was re-released in 2012 through Candlelight. This special reissue was remastered/packaged and included the EP "Six Songs With Mike Singing". Both titles has been out of print for years.

Eye For An Eye by Corrosion Of Conformity

Coldspell have released a music video for the song “Forevermore”, the track is taken from the new album, A New World Arise, which is out today September 22nd. For the fourth time the band from the land of ice and snow up in the north of Sweden is going to bring the world 12 songs that will melt a rocking heart. The Devin Townsend Project played a very special show at the Ancient Roman Amphitheater in Plovdiv, Bulgaria on September 22nd. Supported by the Orchestra of Plovidv State Opera, the DTP performed a By Request Set followed by a full playback of the Ocean Machine: Biomech album, celebrating 20 years since the record was released. No Remorse Records has announced the release of the special 30th anniversary edition of Blaze Of Glory, third studio album of the legendary U.S. power metal act, Jack Starr's Burning Starr. The reissue will be available on October 30th, and will include thick booklet with a lot of previously unseen photos, lyrics, new liner notes, and five bonus tracks: three studio ones, and two live recordings. The album has been remastered by Bart Gabriel, who except producing the last two Burning Starr studio albums, recently mastered reissues of bands such as Cirith Ungol and Sortilege, as well as the new Pagan Altar and Crystal Viper albums.

 
Jack Starr's Burning Starr was formed in 1985 by founding member and guitarist of Virgin Steele, Jack Starr. After releasing four albums in the '80s - Rock The American Way (in 1985), No Turning Back! (in 1986), Blaze Of Glory (in 1987) and the self-titled one (so-called Orange Album from 1989), the band returned in 2009, with a new lineup featuring Starr, Ned Meloni (bass, ex-Joe Lynn Turner), Kenny "Rhino" Earl (drums, ex-Manowar) and Todd Michael Hall (vocals, also in Riot V), and released the comeback album titled Defiance. Two years later, the band released their next studio album, Land Of The Dead, which was met with great reviews by critics and fans alike. In the summer of 2017 the band released brand new album entitled Stand Your Ground.

“Metal Generation”:

Acclaimed producer/guitarist Waldemar Sorychta (GRIP INC., LACUNA COIL, MOONSPELL, SAMAEL) has resurrected the German technical thrash band DESPAIR. Joining him in the group's current incarnation are former MORGOTH vocalist Marc Grewe, original DESPAIR drummer Markus "Makka" Freiwald and new bassist Marius Ickert.

The revamped DESPAIR is in the studio putting the finishing touches on a reworked version of the band's debut album, "History Of Hate", which was released in 1988. The songs from the original LP have been rearranged and will feature new lyrics by Grewe.

DESPAIR will perform at the Ruhrpott Metal Meeting in Oberhausen, Germany in early December. More shows will be announced soon.

DESPAIR was the first band to release an album through the Century Media label, and "History Of Hate" featured lead vocals by Century Media founder Robert Kampf.

Former DESPAIR guitarist Marek Greschek committed suicide in May 2013 at the age of 45.

Freiwald joined German thrash metal veterans SODOM in December 2010 as the replacement for Bobby Schottkowski.

Los Angeles metal titans WINDS OF PLAGUE have debuted an all-new music video today for their brand new track "Never Alone". Directed by Orie McGinness, this is the first bit of music we're hearing from the band from their upcoming LP, "Blood Of My Enemy", which will be released on October 27 via Entertainment One Music (eOne) / Good Fight Music.

"'Never Alone' was actually one of the first songs written for this record and immediately became the balance point for the remaining songs that were to be written," says vocalist Johnny Plague. "It's not the heaviest song of the record and it isn't the most melodic song of the record.

"I wanted this to be the first taste of the new album because I feel it best represents the new music showcasing both the dark symphonic arrangements and the vast range of vocal styles used on the record."

He continues: "I have always used WINDS OF PLAGUE music videos as an opportunity to create cinematic shorts. 'Never Alone' is no different.

"We partnered with Enlighten Creative Studios to tell the story of a misunderstood woman who has harnessed her inner demons to her advantage.

"I design and produce haunted attractions for my career, so it's always fun when I can bring my two worlds together to create these videos."

"Blood Of My Enemy" is the follow-up to the "Resistance" LP, which was released in 2013.

Johnny states: "Over a year ago, I started making weekly trips up to a small apartment in North Hollywood on my days off to work on music for WINDS OF PLAGUE with Noah Sebastian from BAD OMENS. It was strange at first since past WINDS OF PLAGUE records were worked on in larger recording studios or rehearsal spaces and now here I am sitting on the floor of this bedroom working on record number six."

He continues: "Although it was different and humbling, it proved to be the unedited creative environment we needed for this record. We had no time limits, no 'suits' giving their input. It was just a few friends sitting in a room together, having a good time creating music. Something I haven't been able to experience in a very long time.

"Sometimes to move forward you have to take a few steps back.

"I can confidently say this is the most satisfied I have been with a WINDS OF PLAGUE record. I feel producers Noah Sebastian and Joakim Karlsson have helped us to further develop our unique approach to symphonic deathcore with distinct epic orchestral-backed choruses walking the fine line of brutal and melodic."

Says Johnny: "'Blood Of My Enemy" takes us back to the iconic samurai theme. The imagery is inspired by a lyric from the title track, "I will give my life on the battlefield, drowning in the blood of my enemy," which represents to me a 'I will fight to the end' state of mind. Pär Olofsson brilliantly portrays the aftermath of an epic war showing an almost celestial spark of life amongst the carnage."

After 26 years, Australian grinding death rock outfit Blood Duster call it a day announcing their last ever gig.

"While Blood Duster have had a great run of way too much fun with way too may rad people, we feel that the time is right to put an end to all this before we really start doing things for the wrong reasons," comments the band.

"Don’t get us wrong we love playing and when the band gets together for a show we almost always have the most fun out of anyone in the room, but the preparation to be able to play and have that fun is now becoming too much. Half assing it on our own terms has always been ok, half assing it simply for cash is something we don’t wan’t to do."

"Blood Duster have always prided ourselves on doing our shit on our own terms, our own way, and fuck everyone else. We feel that we have stayed pretty true to that over the 26 years and 4 months that we have been around. Our natural inclination as a band was to do the opposite of what people wanted. Sometimes that lost us fans, but we could always look at ourselves and know we did the right thing for all the wrong reasons."

Babylon A.D. are one of the few hard rock bands from the late '80s/early '90s that are still operating with all of their original members: Derek Davis, vocalist/songwriter, guitarists and songwriters, John Matthews and Ron Freschi, drummer Jamey Pacheco and bassist Robb Reid. The band formed in 1987 and to celebrate their 30th anniversary, will release their new album, Revelation Highway, on November 10th. Vocalist Derek Davis on the new album: "This record kicks ass, from the opening track 'Crash And Burn' to the last track 'Saturday Night'. The band had a blast making the album and a lot had to do with original founding member lead-guitarist John Matthews rejoining the band. TESTAMENT's latest album, "Brotherhood Of The Snake", was released last October via Nuclear Blast. The cover was once again created by renowned artist Eliran Kantor, who also handled the art for the TESTAMENT's previous album, 2012's "Dark Roots Of Earth", and worked with bands like HATEBREED, SOULFLY and KATAKLYSM in the past.

"Brotherhood Of The Snake" was recorded under the watchful eyes of producer Juan Urteaga (EXODUS, HEATHEN, MACHINE HEAD), guitarist Eric Peterson and singer Chuck Billy and was mixed and mastered by British metal producer Andy Sneap (ACCEPT, ARCH ENEMY, CRADLE OF FILTH, KREATOR, MACHINE HEAD, MEGADETH).

Billy recently told Metal Wani that TESTAMENT's goal is to release the follow-up to "Brotherhood Of The Snake" in 2018.

TESTAMENT will embark on a European tour in the fall. Support on the trek will come from ANNIHILATOR and DEATH ANGEL.

Ritchie Blackmore has been known worldwide for his guitar shredding in DEEP PURPLE and RAINBOW. He has also shown hints of his penchant for medieval music in both of those bands. That 18th and 19th Century love, though, has only truly come to the fore within the acoustic context of his "renaissance rock" project, BLACKMORE'S NIGHT. Former NIGHTWISH singer Tarja Turunen is bringing the festive season early with the release of her brand new Christmas album, "From Spirits And Ghosts (Score For A Dark Christmas)", on November 17.

The album includes eleven Christmas classics and brings them to a never-before-seen level, uniquely blending Tarja's classically trained voice with darker gothic influences.

Utilizing the sound of a grand orchestra, the successful Finnish solo artist puts a sinister spin on traditional songs like "O Tannenbaum", "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" and "Feliz Navidad", reminding the listener of a dark movie score.

Besides covering classic carols, "From Spirits And Ghosts" features a twelfth track, the brand new original song "Together". This song is aligned with the dark sound of the album and embodies the theme of ghosts and mysticism throughout, in a brilliant, Tarja-styled manner. "Producing a dark Christmas album in the middle of the summer is a very interesting process, especially if you are doing it by the turquoise Caribbean Sea," Tarja said. "It's significantly different from the snowy Christmas that I am used to in my home country Finland — another proof that the darkness comes from deep within.

Commented AMBERIAN DAWN keyboardist and mastermind Tuomas Seppälä: "This song represents the poppier side of the album.

"Most songs on this album are heavier and I'm glad that there was still room for a couple of softer songs too.

"So far I haven't put a side project band together for these different kinds of songs. Instead of that, I've wanted to make all those experiments with AMBERIAN DAWN.

"I was happy to produce this song as a tribute to ABBA's Benny Andersson. Most of the keyboards on this song was recorded at his studio in Stockholm and with his legendary keyboard 'Great White Elephant,' a Yamaha GX-1 which is often heard on ABBA songs in late '70's and early '80s.

"Lead vocal melody is actually based on a keyboard riff I composed at the age of 15 or something. That melody came back to me from somewhere and it became eventually the cornerstone of the whole song! After I got the main melody working in its final form, rest of the song kind of wrote itself.

"Those 16-beats with hi-hats which run through the whole song were there from the very first demo of mine and our drummer Joonas and bassist Jukka insisted keeping that style in the final version too."

Seppälä says: "'Darkness Of Eternity' is one of the most emotional AMBERIAN DAWN albums so far. It's got some really bombastic songs in mood of dark and symphonic melodic metal and in contrast to that also some really poppy songs too.

"For me, it's really hard to stick in one genre only and I constantly want to compose different kinds of songs!"

Tuomas adds: "The song 'Symphony Nr.1, Part 1 - The Witchcraft' told the story on the last record, 'Innuendo', before the time of 'Magic Forest'. The little girl is a healer and village elders buried her alive in a coffin. The track 'Symphony Nr.1, Part 2 - Darkness Of Eternity' on our upcoming record 'Darkness Of Eternity' tells the story of the girl lying in the coffin trying to get out. Darkness is asking her to dance the waltz of eternity. The story will continue in Part 3 and we will tell you how she became the Magic Forest's evil witch!" Regarding the "Darkness Of Eternity" recording process, Tuomas says: "We did a lot of production at legendary Finnvox Studios in Helsinki, Finland: drum recordings, mixing by Mikko Karmila and mastering by Mika Jussila. We also used a live string section on orchestral parts and that added nice color on the sound.

"It's easy for me to say that this album is without any doubt the best sounding AMBERIAN DAWN album ever! It's a kind of monument for me and it introduces the many sides of me as composer.

"I still feel very lucky that I've got Capri [Päivi Virkkunen] on this band because she's probably the only singer capable singing all of those different styles with superior sound and feeling."

AMBERIAN DAWN released a compilation album of songs that originally appeared on their first four albums — "Circus Black" (2012), "End Of Eden" (2010), "The Clouds Of Northland Thunder" (2009) and "River Of Tuoni" (2008) — to showcase Virkkunen after the departure of Heidi Parviainen. "Re-Evolution" was made available on June 14, 2013 in Finland, distributed by Suomen Musiikki.

AMBERIAN DAWN parted ways with vocalist Heidi Parviainen in November 2012. Her final appearance with the band was at the Metal Female Voices Fest at the end of October 2012 in Belgium. AMBERIAN DAWN is:

On September 21, former DEEP PURPLE bassist/vocalist Glenn Hughes and his solo band performed two of the band's classics on Australian TV. On the eve of his Australian tour, Glenn stormed through a short medley including "Smoke On The Water" and "Highway Star". Check out footage below.

Hughes played his last concert with DEEP PURPLE on March 15, 1976, at Liverpool's Empire Theatre. On that night, the U.K. bassist and vocalist walked away from one of history's truly game-changing rock phenomena and never looked back… until now.

Says Hughes: "Most PURPLE fans rank 'Burn' and 'Stormbringer' among the greatest albums the band ever made, in any incarnation.

"Over that Mk III period, we were also performing Mk II classics like 'Smoke On The Water' and 'Highway Star' every night on massive world tours.

"My lasting memories with DEEP PURPLE in Australia, was, of course, the Sunbury Music Festival in '75. After so much sunshine, came the rain — a little prophetic with us performing 'Stormbringer'. My God, the mud! What mayhem, but the crowds seemed to have a great time. We sure did.

"I'm incredibly excited to get out there and play tracks like 'Burn', 'Mistreated', 'Stormbringer' and 'Getting Tighter', as well as some of those older songs that helped define the genre. With this band, I can assure you of a concert that’ll blow your mind."

Joining Hughes for the shows are Jeff Kollman (guitar), Lachy Doley (keyboards) and Pontus Engborg (drums).
