PERIPHERY Partners With Vigilante Coffee Company For Limited-Edition

PERIPHERY Partners With Vigilante Coffee Company For Limited-Edition 'Flatline' Coffee

PERIPHERY, which released its fifth album, "Periphery III: Select Difficulty", in July, has partnered with Washington DC-based Vigilante Coffee Company for a special limited-edition coffee, dubbed "Flatline" (a reference to the song of the same name).

"Being the coffee junkies that we are, the band and I jumped at the opportunity to develop and release our own branded coffee with Vigilante, who kept us over-caffeinated for the 'Periphery III' recording sessions," explains guitar player Mark Holcomb.

"When we saw what Vigilante founder Chris Vigilante was doing and tasted the coffee they were brewing, we were floored; it was easily the best coffee I had tried in my years of living in D.C., and the band made it our go-to coffee spot.

"This past winter, Chris invited us into the shop for a lengthy tasting where we sampled over a dozen coffees and picked what would become 'Flatline' coffee. Aside from being excited to release such a great coffee, we're also proud to say that a portion of the proceeds from sales of this coffee are going directly to Ecuador's earthquake emergency relief for the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Ecuador in April 2016."

Bags of "Flatline" coffee are available now via PERIPHERY's webstore. The coffee is described as featuring chocolate notes and a lasting mouthfeel. As it cools, its creaminess is almost chewy, with delicate earthy and toasty notes. The beans come from the Rio Intag valley of Ecuador, which, while spared a direct impact from the April earthquake, the coastal areas of the country have been deeply affected. A portion of all sales will be directed to the Catholic Relief Services, earmarked for Ecuador Earthquake Relief.

"The motivation behind this collaboration was simply to share something cool with the fans of PERIPHERY and make a positive impact on the coffee world," said Vigilante Coffee Company. "The rock stars of this coffee are the farmers and we're grateful to share their passion for growing great coffee with the passionate fans of PERIPHERY and the passionate coffee lovers of Vigilante Coffee."

Watch IRON MAIDEN Bassist

Watch IRON MAIDEN Bassist's BRITISH LION Perform In Sevilla, Spain

Fan-filmed video footage of IRON MAIDEN bassist Steve Harris's solo/side project BRITISH LION performing on November 4 at Sala Custom in Sevilla, Spain can be seen below.

BRITISH LION is recording shows on its current European tour for an upcoming live album, tentatively due next year.

The band previously debuted two new songs, "Spitfire" and "Bible Black", during its summer 2015 tour.

BRITISH LION's debut album sold around 3,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 3 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

"British Lion" was released in the U.S. on September 25, 2012 via Universal Music Enterprises (UMe). Mixed by Kevin Shirley — whose credits include IRON MAIDEN as well as Led ZEPPELIN, JOURNEY and RUSH, among many others — the CD, which features Harris alongside Taylor, guitarists Graham Leslie and David Hawkins and drummer Simon Dawson, presents a different side of the bassist's musical visions.

"British Lion" comprises ten songs that Steve and his collaborators had been working on between IRON MAIDEN tours and releases and was described by Harris as "'70s-influenced, British-sounding hard rock." "I'd say it's more mainstream rock than metal... and quite commercial… but good commercial," he said. "There's all kinds of stuff going on, with nods to THE WHO and UFO and some classic British rock bands, but it's not the progressive rock album some might be expecting."

Speaking about BRITISH LION's musical direction, vocalist Richard Taylor told Underkill TV: "It's very difficult to describe your music or whatever, but… The way I write lyrics and melodies is I love melody. And I think with Steve… Steve loves the same or whatever. I think the difference is just that, with MAIDEN, [which] is just an incredible band, and Bruce Dickinson is the most amazing singer ever, but it's a completely different style to what I do. But when Steve and I get together — Steve loves melody as well — I think it's just me that takes it in that different direction from the sound. Fundamentally, it's still rock, and if you see it live, it's really powerful live."

Asked if there are any plans for BRITISH LION to record a follow-up album to 2012's self-titled debut, Taylor said: "Yeah, I think that's the plan. I write all the time, and when I get together with Steve, we write. There's so much stuff. It's [a matter of] fitting it in — obviously, more around Steve, [since] he's a pretty busy man. But, yeah, that's the plan."

GLENN HUGHES: BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION Is

GLENN HUGHES: BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION Is 'Making A Rock Album For Rock Fans'

Icon Vs. Icon recently conducted an interview with legendary bassist/vocalist Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH, BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION). A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.

Icon Vs. Icon: Is [your new solo record] "Resonate" an album you could have written as a younger man?

Hughes: "I think everything I do in my older years is something I couldn't do when I was younger. I think I've become more of a studious musician, as both a player and a writer. I think as I get older, the channel is still open for me. I know a lot of my peer group, when they are in their 60s, sort of retire or just don't feel it anymore. Perhaps maybe they just want to do something else. For me, I am in fine tune to what I should do. I know that I've been given a gift to write songs and share those songs with people across the planet, so it's my pleasure to keep making music and keep it fresh!"

Icon Vs. Icon: It has been a few years since your previous solo album. That's not to say you haven't been busy in the meantime. What made this the right time to release a solo record?

Hughes: "It was definitely time for a new solo album. With BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION doing three albums and a DVD and then CALIFORNIA BREED doing an album, it took about five years out of my life. With the surgery on my knees and the heart surgery, I was down for two years in recovery, so it was time for me to come back with this album. This is an album, like you said, where I'm going back to my roots. This is a rock record for rock fans. I think people are excited by the fact that I've returned to that element. It's very dangerous, lyrically dense and heavy in lyrical content as well. I wasn't frightened. I worked through some fears to do this album. You know, when I write, I can tell if a song I am doing is going to be completed. I don't finish some songs if I feel it may not be right for a particular album. Every song you hear on this album was written in the spring in my studio and I knew that I was onto something. I knew I could take the songs into the Copenhagen and record this album with my band."

Icon Vs. Icon: Earlier this year, it was revealed BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION will make its return in 2017. How did you guys get back on the same page after the past few years apart?

Hughes: "One thing I want to make clear to everybody across air nation is that Joe Bonamassa and I never fell out. It just happened that after 'Afterglow' was recorded and released in the fall of 2012, there was no touring schedule set. Being that there was no touring schedule set, I decided to leave the band simply because I needed to go back to my solo career. There was never falling out. Joe was continuing with his solo career and it just never worked out that we could do a lot of touring. Over the course of the years, we have spoken to each other and we had lunch the spring. We said, 'Wouldn't it be great to make another record? Maybe the time is right to do that.' There's certain times when people get back together for reunions and if they have their material, they have a good insight. We are actually writing now and we have written half of the album. Joe is coming next week to finish up the songs and we will be headed back into the studio in January."

Icon Vs. Icon: While it is early in the process, what's the direction you see yourself moving sonically?

Hughes: "You know, it's a combination of all three albums. It will sound like BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION. When you hear the first few bars of the song, you will know it's us! We are not making any severe left turns or opening up any new doors of trying to do something that is different from the way we started. We are very focused on what we should do. We are making a rock album for rock fans. We're not making anything different than pure rock music in the tradition of what BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION set out to do in 2010."

Icon Vs. Icon: It is a strange time here in America right before this election. Seeing as you do have such a positive world outlook, I wanted to get your thoughts on America at this point in time.

Hughes: "Obviously, we are in a position right now where we have two candidates that may not be the ideal view for Americans. We are facing reality. I'm not going to talk to much about who I think should be president because everybody's got their own opinion and I think artists and actors should stay out of it. With that said, we are in a bit of a mess here. We have to hope that Congress and the things we move forward on, the stability of our economy, protecting our borders and keeping Americans free in all four corners of the world, is very important to our nation. We stand at the abyss right now where we have to be very, very positive. It's very, very clear to me what's going on in the political race. It's just a nightmare with what we're facing. We have to stay positive. America is the greatest country in the world! I only hope and pray that in the next couple of weeks, when it comes down to the election day, that we have guile and some insight on how we can move our country forward. I have been living here for 43 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else."

METALLICA Collects Nine Tons Of Food For Abandoned Animals And Malnourished Children In Colombia

METALLICA Collects Nine Tons Of Food For Abandoned Animals And Malnourished Children In Colombia

According to RCN Radio, nearly ten tons of food was collected for disadvantaged children and animals at METALLICA's concert in Colombia last week.

Around 25,000 fans who attended the November 1 show at Los Andes Stadium in Bogota were asked to donate non-perishable food to help the indigenous Wayuú community in La Guajira, in northern Colombia, where in the last eight years more than 4770 children have died due to malnourishment and a lack of drinking water. Each week one or two children are dying from this cause.

The fans brought in nine tons of food and other items through the hunger-fighting charity the Challenger Foundation and Corazones Peluditos (Furry Hearts), an independent organization of 40 families who help feed and re-home abandoned animals.

A group of METALLICA fans in Colombia who call themselves the Lords Of Hardwire brought the initiative to the band's attention.

The situation of the Wayuú was publicized worldwide through the release of the documentary "El Rio Que Nos Robaron" (The Stolen River), made by Colombian award-winning investigative journalist Gonzalo Guillén. The film illustrates the harrowing living conditions that currently plague the Wayúu and supply evidence of the Wayúu's claims that they are facing an orchestrated genocide due to the Colombian government's indifference and abandonment when it comes to providing safe, clean, drinking water to households in this remote and hostile territory.

DAVE MUSTAINE Says His Daughter Is

DAVE MUSTAINE Says His Daughter Is 'A Natural' At Singing Country Music

MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustane and his daughter, 18-year-old country singer-songwriter Electra Mustaine, were interviewed by WSMV-TV on the red carpet at this year's Country Music Awards (also known as CMA Awards), which took place on Wednesday, November 2 at Nashville, Tennessee's Bridgestone Arena. The show, which aired live on ABC, featured Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood as co-hosts.

Mustaine told WSMV-TV that his family's move to Nashville was prompted largely by his daughter's decision to launch a country music career. He said: "She wanted to sing country music. She's great at it. Not all parents have the luxury where they can do what they want for their children. I believe that most really good parents wanna do as much as they can. For us, we were blessed to where I was able to uproot my life and come out here for her. And she's a natural; this is what she wants to do and she's been really great it. So I'm honored. I'm flattered. I remember the first time I heard one of her finished songs. I was out on tour, I put the song in and listened to it, and I actually fell back into my seat. I was, like, Wow!' She's not like one of those celebrity brats that can't sing, that their dad's going to cash in all their beer coupons and say, 'Hey, play my kid.'"

Electra in September released a lyric video for her new single "Life Is Good".

"The lyric video for 'Life Is Good' is really a reflection of all the good things in my own life in the country," the singer said. "The video shoot was a blast with everyone pitching in on the farm to help. Cameos include family, friends, neighbors, my horses Gerrit and Rocky — and even my little dog Gunnar! We had a great time creating it. I really hope fans enjoy and find inspiration from my new video!"

"Life Is Good" is an original song co-written by Electra Mustaine, Nathan Chapman and Blair Daly. Accomplished country artist Steve Wariner made a guest appearance performing guitar on the new single. The lyric video was shot on location at the Mustaine farm in Franklin, Tennessee. Electra found inspiration on her farm for her original creative concept of the video which she directed. "Life Is Good" is currently available for purchase on iTunes.

Electra Mustaine is a Nashville singer/songwriter originally from the small town of Fallbrook, California. Like her famous father, Electra is herself a bit of a rebel. However, instead of rock, Electra followed her heart with country music. Performing at county fairs and NASCAR events, she relocated to Music City in 2014 at age 16 to focus on her music and songwriting — collaborating with some of Nashville's best songwriters.

SLIPKNOT

SLIPKNOT's COREY TAYLOR: 'Anyone But TRUMP Is Better' Choice For U.S. President

SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor has once again weighed in on the 2016 presidential election, saying that "anyone but" Donald Trump is better qualified to lead the country.

Asked by Rolling Stone Australia if he thinks that the controversial Republican candidate has a chance of winning the White House, Corey said: "Let's put it this way — there's a reason I'm looking at places in your country [to live]. I have faith that come November, people will make the right decision. Does that mean that Hillary Clinton is the right decision? No, I'm not saying that. Honestly, I had my horse tied up with Bernie [Sanders]. However, anyone but Trump is better, in my fuckin' opinion, and I think the majority of people know it. I've lost some fans over this. I've had people come at me on social media and on the radio because of the way I feel and I'm, like, what is happening?"

Pressed on whether he is really looking for real estate in Australia, Taylor said: "Depends on how the polling goes. [Laughs] My wife and I, before any of this political bullshit went down, we've said if there was anywhere else in the world that we would live, it would be Australia."

Taylor previously criticized Trump for bringing his grudge-match with the media to an extremely dangerous level for freedom of the press.

"Did you see the video of a Secret Service agent choke-slamming the reporter?" he asked Rolling Stone's Kory Grow, referring to footage that came out in March. "What country is this exactly? And the fact that [Trump] absolutely bulldozes his way through questions instead of answering them, it brings such a horrific reaction to people. It's shocking that nothing is sticking to him. I want to encourage people to stand up for freedom of speech, but as much as I would love to not hear anyone talk the way that Donald Trump does, unfortunately, freedom of speech covers him, too."

Taylor told U.K.'s Metal Hammer magazine that he supported Bernie Sanders because "I love the guts that he has to really stand up and talk about things other than the hot-button issues that the Republicans and Democrats think matter. It seems like all of those issues are designed to put fear into people, and the things that Sanders is talking about has everything to do with trying to bring people together, and how to right wrongs, and how to bring real democracy back."

In an interview with The Guardian, Corey described the current election cycle as "a fucking mess." He said: "The fact that Donald Trump is still is viable candidate makes me want to eat my fucking shoes. I will never support anyone who uses racism as a passive-aggressive way to win votes."

HENRY ROLLINS Blasts DONALD TRUMP, Says HILLARY CLINTON

HENRY ROLLINS Blasts DONALD TRUMP, Says HILLARY CLINTON 'Would Make A Very Good President'

Henry Rollins, former lead singer with BLACK FLAG and current spoken-word performer, actor and "punk" journalist, was interviewed last month by David Devo Oosthuizen in Cape Town, South Africa. You can watch the chat below.

Asked about the U.S. presidential election, Rollins said: "Here's what you have in America… Just my opinion… You have a culmination of a few things. First off, you have the conscientious dumbing down of an electorate for at least forty-something years; that would be the Reagan administration to now. And so with that, you get a coarser, less intellectually curious America, who fears the world, that thinks he or she is the world, not a part of it. You also have a country that has gone for the short money at every possible turn, instead of investing in America, its young people with education, education, education… emptying the prisons by filling the schools, which is my 'tree-huggy' way of getting things done."

He continued: "Smart people make better decisions, in my opinion, but you have to treat them better, because they know better. That's been the problem in America. The old money wants to keep things status quo, and more people are getting educated, and they see what hypocrisy they're surrounded by. And so, people on the left of center, people on the right of center, everyone's mad, and everyone's polarized. And we find out that having an African-American-descent president for eight years… You did not know how many racists you shared a country with until a really smart black guy becomes president. And then you find out your country has major problems. And in comes Donald Trump, who speaks in bumper-sticker logic: 'We're gonna build a wall and Mexicans will pay for it. Immigration solved.' 'What about this?' 'I'll put my best people on it.' He talks tough about China, he talks tough about these countries. Saudi Arabia… You don't shove these countries around if you're America. Saudi Arabia owns so much American debt, which they can sell, which they can destabilize America with a few pen strokes. To talk tough to them… China has a bunch of American debt. You just don't slam the phone down and laugh with these people, with these countries, with these massive economic forces. But people like what they hear."

Rollins added: "On the other hand, you have Hillary Clinton, who is not my favorite person in the world. However, I think she would actually make a very good president in that she's super boring, she knows leadership, she's been around it, as a senator, as a secretary of state, and as a first lady. I think she's kind of been around it for thirty-something years, and I think she would make a very good status-quo, keep-everything-from-blowing-up kind of president, maybe even beyond that a really, really good one. 'Cause I don't think she's a bad person; I just think she's kind of a political operative who just wants her day in the sun, like, 'Damn it! I've waited my turn. I will now be president.' But I do think she's actually motivated, where Donald Trump, I think, was running for fun, and it got ahead of him."

Rollins spends most of his time writing a weekly column for alternative newspaper LA Weekly, taking on various acting roles, curating a radio show for Los Angeles-based KCRW and going on extensive spoken-word tours. He recently launched another extensive spoken-word tour in North America where he is reflecting his insights on his wide travels and sharing his commentary on the recent nature of politics with a touch of Rollins humor for his audiences.

STAIND

STAIND's AARON LEWIS: 'I Need To See DONALD TRUMP Be A Little Bit More Freakin' Presidential'

STAIND frontman Aaron Lewis, who is widely considered to be one of the most politically conservative musicians in rock, has once again weighed in on the 2016 race for the White House, saying that controversial Republican candidate Donald Trump needs to "be a little bit more freakin' presidential."

Lewis — who calls himself an outspoken Constitutionalist conservative — was asked by Andrew Wilkow of SiriusXM's "The Wilkow Majority" if he will vote for Trump or Gary Johnson, the Libertarian nominee for president currently averaging around 7 percent in national polls, in the upcoming election. Lewis responded (hear audio below): "I need to see or hear Gary Johnson talk more. I need to hear Gary Johnson talk more and I need to see Donald Trump be a little bit more freakin' presidential. He's running for the office of the president of the United States, and at times he's acting like he's on the recess on a playing field in elementary school. I need him to take on a little bit more of a Ronald Reagan type of stance, of getting those votes from the middle of the road, getting those votes from the left that are in agreement with all of us that [Democratic presidential nominee] Hillary [Clinton] is just completely unacceptable."

Lewis continued:"We need a president who is going to do what Donald Trump has been doing and saying things that nobody wants to say and is afraid to say but is the truth, but he needs to do it in a manner that can be respected by everybody, that there's no holes in it, where no matter what he actually said in the content, he said it in a manner that didn't offend people that didn't believe what he believes. I need some tact from him. I need some gentlemanly behavior, yet still get the point across, still shake the cage, still rattle everything, but I need to see him do it with a little bit more respect for the position that he is trying to attain."

The STAIND frontman has been a staunch critic of President Barack Obama, telling a crowd at one of his solo concerts earlier in the year (see video below): "For the last eight years, I thought our country was going fucking crazy. Barack Obama should have been impeached a long fucking time ago. Every fucking decision he makes is against the Constitution, it's against what's good for our fucking country, and he is truly the worst fucking president that we have ever had in the history of this fucking country. And a hundred years from now, our fucking grandkids will be looking back at this, going, 'What the fuck was going on?' I truly believe that he was elected over three hundred years of guilt… because he is the least qualified, most inept, completely useless president we have ever fucking had."

Lewis told Billboard a few months ago that he would support Trump in the U.S. presidential race, even though he was "disappointed" by the real estate mogul "with the bickering and the name-calling." Lewis added that he voted for Senator Ted Cruz, Trump's closest competitor in the Republican nomination race, in the Massachusetts primary.

Lewis released a new country music solo album called "Sinner" in September.

SICK OF IT ALL Frontman Weighs In On U.S. Presidential Election:

SICK OF IT ALL Frontman Weighs In On U.S. Presidential Election: 'TRUMP Is There To Make HILLARY Look Good'

SICK OF IT ALL singer Lou Koller has weighed in on the 2016 presidential election, saying that Hillary Clinton will be the next president of the United States "because they want her to be."

The frontman, whose lyrics often revolve around politics, social injustices and life on streets in New York, made his comments on Thursday, October 27 before SICK OF IT ALL's concert in Malmö, Sweden. He told Access: Rock: "I don't know if I'm more cynical now, but the second Donald Trump announced his candidacy, I just looked at the screen and I turned to my wife and I said, 'He's there to make Hillary look good.' Because I'm not deeply into politics, but I follow it enough to know that Donald Trump, for decades, has been friends with the Clintons, he's donated millions to the Clinton Foundation. And I'm just sitting there watching his speech, and when he started saying all those things, like, 'Mexico is sending their rapists. They're sending this,' I was, like, 'He's saying outrageous shit so everybody hates him and wants to vote for Hillary.' And when we saw the way they railroaded Bernie Sanders off the ticket… Even the Democratic National Convention committee has been caught doing fraudulent things, changing voter results… And that's the funny thing — they caught these people doing it, it's all out in the open, but she's still the candidate, even though it should have been, 'Okay, let's recount everything or redo the whole vote.' But no, it's all planned — she's gonna be president, no matter what."

He continued: "If Trump wins, which would be fucking crazy, then I'm proved wrong. But as far as I'm concerned, and everybody I know, it's, like, yeah, she's gonna be president because they want her to be. That's why they got rid of… They would show rallies on TV, Trump and her, in the beginning, and there would be, like, Trump has three thousand people, and Hillary is currently speaking in front of, like, five hundred to seven hundred people. Bernie Sanders would sell out stadiums — stadiums of people chanting — 'cause he was for the people. But he did say if he lost, he would endorse whoever was the winner, and he endorsed her, which made me mad; I think he shouldn't have. But we'll see."

Lou added: "The good thing is, no matter who wins, if we get Bernie Sanders into the head of the Senate, he'll change… A lot of people I know, they only vote in a presidential election; they don't vote… In two years, there'll be another elections for senators and local [officials]; that's where you have to vote, that's where you should be voting, because those are the people that are gonna fight for your rights in there. But nobody ever does.

"As far as I'm concerned, the election is already said and done; she'll probably win. The only reason Trump could win, or should win, would be to fuck the whole system up. But then, once he's in there, he's just gonna fuck the world up. You see these people that he has around him saying, 'What's the point of having nuclear weapons if you're not gonna use them?' And I go, what do you think? You live in a world where you press a button and a shield comes up and protects us? No, we'll all die, you fucking idiots."

SICK OF IT ALL will celebrate its thirtieth anniversary by releasing "When The Smoke Clears" on November 4 via Century Media Records. The effort includes five brand new tracks as well as rare photos and iconic shots from their past and present. Everything was compiled for a strictly limited, luxurious 60-page coffee table artbook that is wrapped in fake leather and comes with personal liner notes from such peers as Davey Havok (AFI), Dennis Lyxzén (REFUSED), Chuck Ragan (HOT WATER MUSIC), Arthur Smilios (GORILLA BISCUITS) and Matt Kelly (DROPKICK MURPHYS).

DEE SNIDER on DONALD TRUMP

DEE SNIDER on DONALD TRUMP's Immigration Policy: 'That's Not What America Is'

TWISTED SISTER singer Dee Snider has spoken to Radio.com about his decision to ask Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump to stop using the band's signature anthem "We're Not Gonna Take It" as the "exit song" at the controversial politician's campaign stops. Snider — who knows Trump personally after appearing more than once on "The Celebrity Apprentice" — said: "Personally, I'm a Second Amendment guy, and I feel we should be stringent, and we should be strong on the borders, and we should be super careful, but to actually just block an entire religion or stop a race of people from coming into our country, that's not what America is. That's not what this country's built on, and I can't stand behind that.

"There have been the downtrodden masses since America started. It's always been somebody. It was Italians at one point; it was the Irish at another point. And now we're seeing the Syrians and Middle Eastern people coming over, and they're suffering, and it ain't easy. We should be as careful as we could possibly be [in allowing people to immigrate], but to actually just ban people, that's not what America is.

"Ask [U2's] Bono, who's not even American. He said, 'America is the greatest idea in history. It's the greatest idea ever. Don't lose that.' He said, 'Ireland's a country; England's a country. America is an ideal, and the world needs that ideal.' And we gotta remember our place in this world. We welcome people. We don't turn them away."

Asked if he thinks Trump believes all the things he says, or if he is just playing to the crowd, because he's playing to win, Snider said: "Well, we don't talk about those subjects, but we certainly spend time together, and I see how he acts, I see the man that he is, and I agree [with you]. He's a showman. He's got a well-versed WWE approach; he's done a lot of work with the WWE. That's the kind of thing he does. He knows that there is this part of America that responds. They're very reactive and very intense, and they've got some strong feelings, and he's feeding that. But perception is reality. And if you represent something dark and not positive, it doesn't matter if you believe it or not, you still are the figurehead for that movement."

Snider added that his bandmates were "uncomfortable" with Trump's use of "We're Not Gonna Take It". He explained: "Well, they had mixed feelings. Some are pro-Trump, others are not pro-Trump. But it was like, 'Hey, we're all being defined by this.' And that's not what the song was about. The song was sort of a song for everybody, not just for one voice."

Trump has gained endorsements from far-right and racist groups, but has been slow to distance himself from them.

Snider was fired by Trump on NBC's "The Celebrity Apprentice" in 2013.

NAPALM DEATH Frontman Says TRUMP Is

NAPALM DEATH Frontman Says TRUMP Is 'Ludicrous In Every Way,' Endorses CLINTON For President

NAPALM DEATH singer Mark "Barney" Greenway has weighed in on the 2016 presidential election, saying that controversial Republican candidate Donald Trump is "so ludicrous in every way" that he "just can't take him seriously."

The frontman, who has long been outspoken on politics, religion and social issues, told Metal Wani in a new interview (hear audio below): "I have to say that I really liked what [former presidential hopeful] Bernie Sanders was, and is, about; I really did. There were so many things that he spoke about that really rang true with me and were the things that I always supported in the system over here [in the U.K.] as well."

He continued: "I really struggle when it comes to the kind of situation that you've got now with the U.S. election. I mean, Trump is just… I just can't take him seriously. I know he's really offended a lot of people, but I think he's so ludicrous in every way. And I just can't believe that people would swallow that.

"Politicians always make this point of not insulting the electorate and they really make a big issue of that. But it doesn't matter who you are. If you are really gullible enough to swallow some of the stuff that Trump says, given the position that he's gonna be potentially presented with a couple of months on, I just don't understand it. From a basic human perspective, it just doesn't make any sense.

"So, yeah, it's not gonna be good for anybody, I think, if he gets [elected president]. Because we have an interest in it too, because, like it or not, whatever happens in America has a domino effect elsewhere, so we all should be concerned about it."

As for the Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, Greenway said: "Given the toss-up between Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton, obviously I've already said who I would really pitch for. But I think at this point, it's a case of damage limitation for all of us, and I think it would be far preferable for everybody if she gets it. 'Cause she's gonna get it. The system's not gonna collapse overnight. We have the system that we have, everywhere in the world, that is kind of a derivative of some kind of core system. And as much as, with my nonpolitical head on, or rather with my anti-mainstream-politics head on, I'd like to see the pillars come tumbling down, which would give everybody in the world a better chance at freedom and dignity and equality and stuff, it ain't gonna happen. So I think the best thing for now is if Hillary Clinton was to win. I think that's fairly obvious. So there you go."

Greenway's new comments echo what he told Decibel magazine earlier in the year, when he said: "[Trump is] an oaf! What he's said has offended a lot of people, but I can't even be offended because he's so ridiculous. Even if he got elected, he couldn't do half the stuff he wants because it's against international law. Okay, he has his 'Latinos for Trump' and 'African-Americans for Trump' crowds, but do you honestly think that's a good barometer for those people in the population? I fucking think not."

He continued: "We laugh at people like Trump, but we have similar characters. Every system does. We've got the U.K. Independence Party, who are worryingly popular, but only because of the brainwashing that goes on in the media. We get it in the U.K. as much as you do [in the U.S.]. But Trump is above and beyond. He's got form in the U.K., too, because he tried to build that golf course, but in the end he got told to fuck right off. But it still destroyed a piece of coastline in the process. It's that whole thing: if you're a citizen and you commit a crime, you'll get punished. If you're a corporation or a billionaire, you can almost get away with murder."

NAPALM DEATH released its 15th studio album, "Apex Predator - Easy Meat", in January 2015 via Century Media Records.

DISTURBED Frontman Defends Band

DISTURBED Frontman Defends Band's Decision To Perform On 'The X Factor'

DISTURBED performed its cover version of SIMON & GARFUNKEL's "The Sound Of Silence" on today's (Monday, November 7) episode of Australia's "The X Factor". You can now watch video footage of the band's appearance below.

DISTURBED singer David Draiman has defended the band's decision to perform on "The X Factor", saying in an online post: "To those of you saying 'sellouts,' or, 'What is DISTURBED doing on 'X Factor' anyway?', we're fighting the good fight for our genre to be respectably represented. All rock bands should. All artists/musicians want to spread their work to as many people as possible. That's what it's all about. Sharing the beauty of what you created. If that is considered 'selling out' to some people, then so be it."

Draiman told the X96 radio station that DISTURBED has been surprised by the huge commercial success of its cover of "The Sound Of Silence". He said: "It keeps on spreading to parts of the world that either we've never been to or that are just discovering it. The track is, as of yesterday, No. 2 on the iTunes Top 100 in Germany, it's No. 3 in Luxembourg, it's No. 1 in Slovenia. I mean, some places that we've literally… I've never been to Slovenia before. So it's pretty amazing to see how many people have been embracing it and how widely it's been embraced."

The video for DISTURBED's version of "Silence", which was released in December 2015, has been seen more than 131 million times, a record number of views on YouTube for the group.

DISTURBED went on hiatus at the end of 2011, with Draiman and the other members of the band all pursuing other projects for several years before returning in 2015.

The band began a new round of North American tour dates on September 23 in Las Vegas, ending in Sacramento, California one month later.

ARMORED SAINT Drummer GONZO SANDOVAL Urges Americans To Vote For DONALD TRUMP

ARMORED SAINT Drummer GONZO SANDOVAL Urges Americans To Vote For DONALD TRUMP

ARMORED SAINT drummer Gonzo Sandoval has publicly come out in support of Donald Trump, who is vying to become the next President of the United States.

Gonzo, who — like his brother and ARMORED SAINT bandmate Phil Sandoval — is of Mexican descent (ARMORED SAINT bassist Joey Vera is "half Mexican," according to singer John Bush), has released a video message dubbed "Don't Dump On Trump" (see below) in which he urges everyone to "get out and vote" on Tuesday, November 8 and "vote for Trump-Pence."

In a series of public messages on his personal Facebook page, Gonzo tried to explain why a Latino like him would support the presidential candidate who is widely considered to have run the most anti-Mexican, anti-immigrant campaign in modern history.

He wrote in a November 2 post: "Oh Heavenly Father, I Pray Americans Vote... For The Man that will Help redirect USA, our Country to We the People... For the Man that will bring good paying jobs and grow our economy... For the Man that will protect our borders... For the Man that will Build our Military World wide and help keep all Americans protected... For the Man that will make new trade deals that benefit America and all of us in America first... For the Man that will help stop this idea of globalization.. For the Man that will rebuild our infrastructure ... For the Man that will help our Schools and focus on education of our youngsters... That man is Donald J. Trump .... Vote for Trump/Pence on Nov. 8, 2016..."

He went on to say: "Don't Dump on Trump for trying to help our Country, that we all Love!!! Don't Dump on Trump for standing strong against all the establishment and seeking to change the direction (for the better) of our country, that we all Love!!! Don't Dump on Trump for pinpointing and shedding light on the American issues that need immediate attention... Don't Dump on Trump... Period!

"Help Trump Win so the USA may benefit from his business mind and Thrive again Together As Americans!!!

"Open the eyes of your hearts, Lord!!! God Bless You all!!! God Bless Donald J. Trump!!! God Bless Mike Pence!!! God Bless America!!!"

Two weeks earlier, Gonzo wrote in another post that he made public: "No Bill is not running for President. Kilary is, she is still married to Bill …Kilary attacked, viciously all the woman that Bill had affairs with ...that is part of her temperament and decision making…. not to mention all the other crimes she was involved with, (deleting 33,000 emails after receiving a subpoena from Congress) is just one of the many! …Imagine her finger on the nuclear button 33,000 times …and then lying about it…. Danger Alert...No way!!! WoW...we cannot have Kilary near the White house … Period! Vote Trump/Pence!!!"

ARMORED SAINT's new live album, "Carpe Noctum", will be released on February 24, 2017 via Metal Blade. The effort marks the band's first live release since 1989's "Saints Will Conquer" and features tracks recorded from their headlining show in Aschaffenburg, Germany, plus last year's Wacken Open Air festival.

Britain’s METAPRISM Release “Catharsis” Music Video

Britain’s METAPRISM Release “Catharsis” Music Video

Metaprism distinguishes itself with a unique brand of melodic and progressive metal and a combination of male and female vocals, ruthless aggression and soaring melodies. Live and on record, their modern and melodic sound have left a big impression on audiences both in the UK and outside.

“Catharsis” is the first single, for what will be their second album, scheduled for release in 2017. The title of the track is inspired by the metaphor first used by Aristotle, defining an extreme change in emotion that results in renewal and restoration. It is reflecting the changes the band went through earlier in 2016, when their male vocalist, Jut Tabor, had to part ways with the band for personal reasons. With Joey Draper, Metaprism found a more than worthy replacement, who is able to add even more diversity vocally and is stamping his mark with this first release featuring his vocal talents. Alongside Theresa Smith, the vocal duo make a formidable pair with plenty of range, harmonic content and live energy.

Watch the video for “Catharsis” below:

Last year, Metaprism made an unforgettable impression at the acclaimed Wacken Open Air festival and appeared at Bloodstock for the second consecutive year.

LIKE A STORM Stream New Single "Pure Evil"

LIKE A STORM Stream New Single "Pure Evil"

New Zealand's Like A Storm is coming back with a brand new single “Pure Evil”, which will be accompanied later this month by a video featuring the band playing in the abandoned Methodist Church in The US. “We actually filmed in a place considered to be one of America’s most dangerous cities. We had to hire armed police officers as security - that was a different experience, coming from New Zealand!” says bassist Kent Brooks. The song itself is an opus, combining metal drumming and riffage with choirs, electronic music, and of course Like A Storm’s trademark didgeridoo.

“From all of our touring here we got turned onto a lot of heavier music coming out of Europe / Scandanavia like Dimmu Borgir and Gojira,” says Kent. “We’ve always loved writing music that’s layered and epic, and wanted to keep pushing that.”

This new musical direction caught the attention of Alter Bridge guitarist Mark Tremonti, who commented “‘Pure Evil’ is totally killer! This song will be so badass live."

"They're hardcore," says Alter Bridge frontman Myles  Kennedy of Like A Storm's touring work ethic. "I see them show up onstage every night and give it 10,000%... They have definitely proved that they deserve every bit of success that they have coming to them."

The band also drew on experience from their relentless global tour schedule. "After playing festivals to crowds like Download and Graspop, we started approaching music in terms of what we could envision seas of people rocking out to in unison," says Kent.

Lyrically the song marks a turning point in Like A Storm’s writing, addressing the dark side of religious and political power. Says guitarist Matt Brooks: “Those members of our society who are supposed to be a shining example of morality are so often revealed to be corrupt, immoral, and even dangerous. The cover ups, scandals and exploitation that pervade the highest levels of church and government are just sickening. So 'Pure Evil' seemed like the perfect way to sum up this absolute hypocrisy - these people appear so righteous, but at their core they are the worst of the worst.”

“I Fortida Sitt Lys” video:

Slegest will hit the road in December of this year, joining Shining's 20th Anniversary tour, which also features Dark Essence label mates Taake, with whom the band has previously toured. The prospect of sharing a stage with Niklas Kvarforth and Hoest, widely acknowledged to be two of the most accomplished and exciting front men in extreme metal, would seem daunting to most bands, but judging from the reviews Slegest has received for its live performances, and from the number of fans the lineup of Ese on vocals and rhythm guitars, Sør (Bäääv, Vonbråten) on lead guitars, Hövard (Bombeklüchter) on bass and Fjøsne on drums, has picked up following those performances, this is a band that is more than able to hold its own against the two titans.

Before the start of the tour Slegest will launch the new album with a show at Krøsset in Oslo, where they will be joined by Alfahanne, and, given the dynamism and sheer entertainment value of the two bands, this will be an evening to remember.
