HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD Releases Video For 'Renegade'"Renegade", the new video from HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's fifth full-length album, "V" (Five), which will be released on October 27.
HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD's Johnny 3 Tears stated about the track: "I hope this song and video can inspire kids to believe that they can change the world, and it's up to them if it's for the better or worse. The truth is that the kids of today are the renegades of tomorrow."
Regarding "V", Johnny 3 Tears said: "We're five brothers, and this is our fifth record. Nothing gets to the essence of the music like this number does. Numerology has a lot of power. When we said 'Five', it just made sense. The fact that we could all agree on one word codifies who we are. It also nods back to 'No. 5' from our first album, because it was our fifth song. Moreover, it hints at this secret society of fans supporting us for the past decade. The number is significant, and this is a significant moment for us."
HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD's new set of dates in support of "V" will begin on September 30 at the Louder Than Life festival. For all U.S. headline shows, BUTCHER BABIES will serve as direct support.

Listen To New BUTCHER BABIES Song 'Headspin'"Headspin", a brand new song from BUTCHER BABIES, can be streamed below. The track is taken from the band's third album, "Lilith", which will be released on October 27 via Century Media. The follow-up to 2015's "Take It Like A Man" was produced by Steve Evetts (THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, SEPULTURA, SUICIDE SILENCE) and marks the band's recording debut with new drummer, Chase Brickenden, who replaced Chris Warner last year.
Pre-orders for "Lilith" are available now in both physical and digital formats.
"Lilith" track listing:
01. Burn The Straw Man02. Lilith03. Headspin04. Korova05. #Iwokeuplikethis06. The Huntsman07. Controller08. Oceana09. Look What We've Done10. Pomona (S**t Happens)11. Underground And Overrated
BUTCHER BABIES co-vocalist Heidi Shepherd stated about "Lilith": "After a year of writing and recording, we are thrilled with the growth and maturity of this album. Leading with our title track, 'Lilith', the artistic development within the band shines.
"We worked with producer, Steve Evetts, to bring you the rawest form of BUTCHER BABIES. No Auto-Tune, a hundred percent real drums, real guitars, real bass, and an all-out BUTCHER BABIES assault on your senses. As we know in this industry, these standards are quickly replaced by machines and can eliminate what makes a band an actual band.
"We are so proud of the hard work and dedication that each member of our team put in to create this masterpiece."
BUTCHER BABIES co-vocalist Carla Harvey told Meltdown Of Detroit's WRIF radio station that the music on BUTCHER BABIES' upcoming disc "runs the gamut" from "great thrash metal" to "a little bit of '90s influence." She said: "We're singing, we're screaming and it's just a great, great album. I couldn't be prouder of it. I think there's four songs where we do predominantly singing on it. And normally that would scare even me, 'cause I'm, like, 'I'm a metal girl! I don't wanna be singing.' But it's so beautiful — it really is. So it's kind of ballady, but not too ballady. It's very dark, sensual — the lyrics are very sensual on this album."
She continued: "I think we're bringing a little bit of the sexy back on this album that we kind of steered away from for a while. When we were building up our career, we wanted to be taken so seriously as metal chicks, so I think we kind of let those hindrances go a little bit and said, 'Let's just be us in all aspects of us' — from the metal to the sexy to everything else."
Although there is a lot of variety on BUTCHER BABIES' upcoming effort, Carla is quick to point out that "I couldn't do an album with no thrash on it, 'cause that's my passion. I think my favorite song on the album is a completely ridiculous thrash metal song that you'll hear," she said. "It's just amazing. In fact, one line in the song is about my Corvette that is always broken down. I have a '75 Corvette, 'cause I'm a real Detroit girl with a real American car. The song has completely ridiculous lyrics, but it's so cool — total thrash."
Carla said that BUTCHER BABIES next album will contain eleven songs, with an extra track for Japan. The disc's first single has "got a super-sexy rhythm to it," according to Harvey. "But everything is still… When you hear the album, you say, 'That's definitely BUTCHER BABIES.'"
Regarding BUTCHER BABIES' collaboration with Evetts, Carla said: "He doesn't do any Auto-Tuning or any pitching or anything like that, so every note on this album is a hundred percent authentic. And it's really cool to be able to say that about an album nowadays, I think, because people are so used to hearing everything Auto-Tuned and touched up and fixed up. This album is exactly what we've always wanted to do — it's something passionate and raw — and we're all just over the moon for it."
She added: "That's the one thing that we've always wanted to capture, because I think that we're a great live band, and when you're a good live band, you wanna capture that energy, and we finally found a producer that can help harness that live energy, actually, into the album."
According to Carla, Chase's addition to BUTCHER BABIES contributed to the upcoming album being "just on another level." She explained: "He's just a great, great, great drummer with all kinds of new ideas, and we blend really well together. And we actually toured with Chase on our very first tour with OTEP years and years ago, so we're all old friends already and he just fit in seamlessly."
Shepherd stated about the "Lilith" title and cover artwork, which can be seen below: "Historically, Lilith has become demonized as a representation of promiscuity and disobedience. We, however, see her as a positive figure. A symbol of autonomy, sexual equality, and full control over your own destiny.
"Lilith is the supreme representation of the left-hand path woman: independent, having discarded the patriarchal yoke, and not afraid to use all the tools available to her, including her sexuality, to gain the most out of existence. The eels in the cover art represent sleek symbolism of new beginnings and adventure.
"With this album, we have musically taken a leap through old boundaries and landed in new oceans. It is said that a the dream or visions of eels is confirmation that the path we currently lead is the right one.
"In this new chapter of BUTCHER BABIES, we welcome evolution as we bare ourselves with 'Lilith'."
Added Harvey: "When we were thinking of titles for our album, we wanted to find something that embodied sensuality, lust, danger and power. We kept going back to Lilith. We researched Lilith and her origins in different cultures and forms and knew that this figure, once feared but now a beautiful, symbolic middle finger to repression, would be a perfect representation of our album.
"The cover art we created with our graphic artist perfectly pulls together the last year we've spent working on 'Lilith'.
"I've always loved water themes and there is something terrifying yet calming about the deep sea; submersing yourself in it could be the death of you, yet at the same time it's cleansing and renewing.
"With this album we dove in fully and drowned ourselves in emotion, sexuality and even turmoil, and let the two-headed beast we created has emerged even stronger."
BUTCHER BABIES will support HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD on a U.S. tour which will kick off on October 1 in Atlanta, Georgia.

CYHRA Joined By Former SHINING Guitarist EUGE VALOVIRTACYHRA, the new band featuring former IN FLAMES members Peter Iwers (bass) and Jesper Strömblad (guitar) alongside ex-AMARANTHE singer Joacim "Jake E" Lundberg and LUCA TURILLI'S RHAPSODY drummer Alex Landenburg, has recruited former SHINING guitarist Euge Valovirta.
CYHRA said in a statement: "We're thrilled to inform that Finnish guitarist Euge Valovirta will be joining CYHRA as our fifth member!
"Euge has already contributed to our forthcoming new album, 'Letters To Myself', by playing twin guitars and solos, and he'll be shredding with us live as well.
"During rehearsals, it became obvious that we would need two guitars to reproduce the songs in a live setting, so we decided to ask our good friend and amazing guitarist Euge Valovirta to join CYHRA. Euge had already done a killer job on the album and we can't wait to share the stages of the world with him."
Valovirta stated: "I feel very honored and excited to be part of this amazing band together with these talented and professional guys and I look forward to kick some serious ass on stage on our upcoming tours. I'd like to welcome all our current and future fans to our shows; it will be ass-kicking juicy! Oh, and the album is amazing too!"
A video clip in which Valovirta talks about how he joined the band and shows how to play the CYHRA track "Karma" can be viewed below.
CYHRA's debut album, "Letters To Myself", will be released on October 20 via Spinefarm Records. The disc was recorded at Top Floor Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Speaking to AntiHero Magazine, Jake stated about CYHRA's formation: "I have been friends with Jesper for a long time, probably ten years. We met for the first time when I was working for IN FLAMES as a pyro technician back in the day. That was also when I got to know Peter. We had been friends since then. I was considering to make a solo album, and I would say that I have no idea what I'm going to do, but I'm probably going to write some songs as well. And he asked me, 'Would you do the vocals on my solo album?' And I said, 'Of course. Would you be interested in playing guitar on whatever I'm doing?' And he said yes. And then we started to talk about what our solo albums, projects, whatever it was meant to be would sound like and when we were discussing that we just realized that okay, we want the same. We want to make the same album. So that's where it all came to be and then we decided to start writing songs together. So, we were actually talking over a cup of coffee on a Friday and then on Monday we actually sat down in the studio and we started working on the first song. So that was really, really good. And then when we were doing the same thing there, we didn't know what to do. But after a couple of songs, everything started to come together. Then Jesper said, 'Okay what are we going to do?' And I said that I had the perfect drummer for this band, and that's Alex Landenburg. I said that you are going to love this guy. And a couple of months later we all met, and Jesper and Alex became best friends instantly. And then Jesper said that it would be cool if Peter would like to join. And so we asked him and he was still the bassist for IN FLAMES, and he said, 'Yeah, absolutely, I will gladly jump on board of this ship. But just to let you know, I am going to still be a member of IN FLAMES as well.' We were cool with that and then things happened like they did. Peter eventually decided to part ways with IN FLAMES."
Regarding the CYHRA sound, Jake said: "It is hard to describe what we sound like because we've been writing for almost a year. We've been influenced by so many different bands. We are, of course, influenced by ourselves. Because like, as the main songwriter in all our different projects before, you know, like, Jesper has his touch of things, I have the touch on my side, and also the other guys. Of course, you will find similarities in our former bands. But I won't say that we have reinvented the wheel in any way, but it's still something that sounds really, really fresh and new, even though music is music. You could always probably find similarities. But I would not say that it sounds like old AMARANTHE, or that it sounds like IN FLAMES. But you could completely, you know, recognize yourself within these boundaries."
Jake E announced his departure from AMARANTHE in February, explaining at the time that he began to feel that "my place both on the albums and live was reduced; I felt like I was superfluous… I started to feel more like a backing singer."
Iwers issued a statement in November saying that he was leaving IN FLAMES "to pursue other endeavors." He has since been replaced on the road by Bryce Paul, a member of the Southern California pop-rock outfit IVES.
Strömblad quit IN FLAMES in February 2010 in order to continue receiving treatment for his alcohol addiction. He later formed THE RESISTANCE with Marco Aro (vocals, THE HAUNTED) and Glenn Ljungström (guitar, ex-IN FLAMES), only to exit that band in March 2016.
CYHRA will make its live debut on October 27 at Nosturi in Helsinki, Finland. 1

Former ANTHRAX Singer DAN NELSON Joins YEAR OF THE TYRANTFormer ANTHRAX singer Dan Nelson has joined YEAR OF THE TYRANT, the new band featuring bassist Jason Viebrooks (GRIP INC., HEATHEN), guitarist Vinnie LaBella (EXHORDER) and drummer Sasha Horn (FORBIDDEN, HEATHEN).
YEAR OF THE TYRANT is finishing up the pre-production on its first batch of tunes, to be made available later in the year.
Regarding how the band was formed, Sasha said: "Jason kind of put this together, and him and Vinnie go way back. And he knew the players he wanted, but we all get along great. It's kind of a family affair at this point."
Added Jason: "We've just gradually been building material, writing it together. We didn't really wanna say anything to anybody until we were ready to just basically suckerpunch you — you didn't see it coming; here we are.
"It's been amazing to finally play with these guys," he continued. "I played with Sasha when he did 70000 Tons Of Metal with HEATHEN a couple of years ago, and I clicked with him on a personal level and just jamming around on some riffs and stuff. I had a feeling that he was gonna be the guy to really gel and who we needed to have to come pull the whole thing together."
Nelson in 2012 settled a lawsuit he filed against ANTHRAX over the fallout from his departure from the veteran metal group. Details of the settlement were not made public.
The singer, who was in ANTHRAX for nearly two years — from late 2007 until July 2009 — filed a lawsuit in November 2011 claiming that Charlie Benante (drums), Frank Bello (bass) and Scott Ian (guitar) falsely stated in "numerous interviews" that he had "abruptly resigned" after getting sick, forcing a cancelation of a tour. The $2.65-million suit also alleged that Benante told BLABBERMOUTH.NET that Nelson "was a bully."
The Long Island native said his ex-bandmates' "intentional defamation" has caused him a loss of income and damaged his reputation.
Before reaching the deal, ANTHRAX attorney Brian Caplan told the judge that Nelson had been offered a "fairly small dollar amount" and co-authorship of eleven ANTHRAX songs that the band recorded for "Worship Music", according to the New York Daily News.
LaBella was a founding member of EXHORDER, the legendary New Orleans metal band cited by many as the originator of the riff-heavy power-groove approach popularized by PANTERA.

SAXON Completes Recording 'Thunderbolt' AlbumBritish heavy metal legends SAXON have completed recording their new album, "Thunderbolt", for a tentative early 2018 release. Singer Biff Byford tells Myglobamind: "I finished doing the vocals on September 20th, and Andy Sneap is mixing it at the moment. It sounds really good. There are no big surprises on the CD. We haven't turned into Lady Gaga. [Laughs] I like Lady Gaga, as it's a bit of a compliment. We haven't changed into a different kind of band."
The follow-up to 2015's "Battering Ram", "Thunderbolt" will feature the song "They Played Rock And Roll", written about and dedicated to MOTÖRHEAD. Byford previously said that he gave the track that title because "that's what Lemmy used to say every night [from the stage]." He added: "It's basically about early MOTÖRHEAD — '79/'80 MOTÖRHEAD, like around 'No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith', 'cause that's the tour we were on, that one. So, yeah, it's about the band, really, and their music."
According to Biff, "They Played Rock And Roll" will be musically similar to Lemmy and Co. He explained: "I asked Nibbs [Carter, SAXON bassist] to write me some music that was like MOTÖRHEAD, and he did. So it sounds very MOTÖRHEAD-ish, but not MOTÖRHEAD, if you know what I mean."
Regarding the "Thunderbolt" album title, Byford said: "'Thunderbolt' is about Greek gods, so I read up on Greek mythology. There's not really that much. Homer had some writings… I made most of it up, but it's based on Zeus and Poseidon and Hades, so it's got a bit of good and a bit of evil in it, so it's pretty cool. Obviously Zeus's sign was a thunderbolt and his sign was an eagle holding a lightning bolt."
Like "Battering Ram", SAXON's upcoming effort will feature Byford alongside Paul Quinn and Doug Scarratt on guitar, Nibbs Carter on bass and Nigel Glockler on drums. 2

LEIF EDLING Is Working On New CANDLEMASS Song: 'This Will Be A New Challenge For Me As A Songwriter'Leif Edling is working on a new CANDLEMASS song, to be released next year. The Swedish bassist and songwriter broke the news in a Facebook post, writing: "[The track] will see the light of day early 2018. It will be a part of something bigger, something really cool that will take [CANDLEMASS] on another adventure. This will be very exciting and a new challenge for me as a songwriter."
Edling, who has been unable to tour the last few years due to unspecified health problems, also revealed that he is no longer a member of AVATARIUM, the band he launched more than four years ago. "My doctors have said absolutely NO to me for work with more than one band at the time," he wrote. "They did not like it when I did THE DOOMSDAY KINGDOM album at the same time as [CANDLEMASS] 'Death Thy Lover' and they are always right, of course. As a result of this, I had another breakdown not long after 'Death Thy Lover' was ready."
Although Edling is not a member of AVATARIUM anymore, he will continue to work with the band in the future. "[AVATARIUM guitarist] Marcus [Jidell] and [singer] Jennie [Jennie-Ann Smith] are good friends so I hope that [AVATARIUM's latest album] 'Hurricanes And Halos' will get the success it deserves. I'm quite sure of it. The reviews this far have all been mindblowing! (the ones outside of Sweden anyway, hahaha!) So when the next one is due, I will definitely be contributing!"
According to Leif, he will carry on with his THE DOOMSDAY KINGDOM project, which released its self-titled debut LP earlier this year. "There will definitely be another THE DOOMSDAY KINGDOM album," he said. "Next year or the year after that. Promise!"
"Death Thy Lover" was released last year as CANDLEMASS's special thirtieth-anniversary EP. The four-track effort — which featured Mats Levén on vocals — was recorded during September/October 2015 and was made available as a four-page digipack, one-LP gatefold edition and one-LP gatefold webstore edition and old-school "skull-and-cross" slipmat. The cover artwork for the EP was created by Erik Rovanperä. 3

SPARZANZA Pays Tribute To Blade Runner 2049 In New Video "Announcing The End"When Swedish metal band Sparzanza started planning the music video for the title track of their upcoming album Announcing The End, they were determined to create something different than just five guys playing their instruments in a rough setting. Both the director, Mattias Larsson, and the band are fans of the first Blade Runner movie from the '80s and wanted to pay a tribute to the upcoming movie Blade Runner 2049 that will premiere October 6th 2017. The video can be seen below.
This project was extra interesting since no one had seen the whole movie, but only had the movie trailers for inspiration. A version of a trailer to a movie that nobody’s seen was a fun idea, but also a challenge.
In the selection of actors, Sparzanza only chose to work with actors from the area around Karlstad and Värmland. To work with Swedish actor Johan Östling was an obvious choice. Johan is known from Swedish director Ulf Malmros’ movies Smala Sussie, Bröllopsfotografen, and Mammas Pojkar. Last spring he won the Swedish celebrity version of TV show The Great Bake Off, and he is currently working as one of the leading roles in the new season of the TV series Ack Värmland that will air on Swedish TV4 this fall. Östling is a former musician colleague to the band and didn’t hesitate to act in the video, even though he still hasn’t brought back the keys to the rehearsal room after 15 years.
Anders Louthander, the Harrison Ford of Karlstad is also working as a small part in Ack Värmland this fall, is tall and strong, but the band’s guitarist Magnus Eronen managed to give him a bruise after one of the music video’s stage fights.
Sparzanza wanted to record the entire video in Karlstad and they put a lot of work into finding the right futuristic settings from the movie in the small Swedish town. Some of the settings are also interesting to Sparzanza fans, having recorded some of the scenes at the same places where the band has taken a lot of their band photos and pictures for previous album artworks. They’ve also recorded at places such as the University of Karlstad and Stadshotellet (one of the town’s well known landmarks together with the Sola i Karlsta statue).
Announcing The End will be released through Despotz Records on October 13th.
Announcing The End tracklisting:
“Announcing The End”
“Damnation”
“One Last Breath”
“Whatever May Come May Be”
“Vindication”
“The Dark Appeal”
“Breathe In The Fire”
“The Trigger”
“To The One”
“We Are Forever”
“Truth Is A Lie”

SLASH, ROB ZOMBIE, GENE SIMMONS, CHRIS JERICHO Pay Tribute To HUGH HEFNERAccording to The Pulse Of Radio, Rob Zombie and Slash were among the rock artists who paid tribute on social media to publishing titan and Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, who passed away from natural causes on Wednesday (September 27) at the age of 91. Hefner died at his home, the Playboy Mansion, where many legendary rockers — including those who honored the man online — no doubt spent a few wild nights.
Rob Zombie posted a photo of himself and his wife Sheri with Hefner, writing, "Meeting Hef back in 2001 at the Mansion. Crazy place. Glad I got to party there. RIP to the one and only. The man in the silk pajamas."
KISS bassist Gene Simmons tweeted, "A great man, entrepreneur and innovator. Your legacy lives on."
Slash posted a photo of Hefner surrounded by dozens of bikini-clad women on Instagram, writing simply, "RIP Hugh Hefner."
FOZZY's Chris Jericho posted the same picture, writing, "I'd say he had a pretty good run."
Hefner started Playboy in 1953 after leaving his job at Children's Activities magazine. Although the nude pictorials of women in the magazine created an uproar among the more conservative sectors of America, circulation of the magazine hit one million subscriptions by 1960 and was selling upwards of seven million during the 1970s.
Hefner branched out with Playboy clubs, resorts, casinos, his own television channel and the opening of the Playboy Mansion, which hosted many a legendary party over the years for legions of celebrities and musicians. 9

Video Premiere: NOTHING MORE's 'Don't Stop' Feat. PAPA ROACH's JACOBY SHADDIX"Don't Stop", the new video from the Texas rock quartet NOTHING MORE, can be seen below. The track, which features a guest appearance by PAPA ROACH frontman Jacoby Shaddix, is taken from NOTHING MORE's latest album, "The Stories We Tell Ourselves". Released on September 15 via Better Noise Records, the disc sees frontman Jonny Hawkins once again bearing the soul of NOTHING MORE as his bandmates Mark Vollelunga (guitar), Daniel Oliver (bass) and Ben Anderson (drums) craft a sonic palette comprised of elements ranging from progressive metal to pop.
The songs on "The Stories We Tell Ourselves" were written early last year and recorded primarily on the road and in personal studios as production duties were often handled by Hawkins and the bandmembers themselves.
From the relentless groove of "Don't Stop" to the emotive, anthemic bent of the PIXIES-esque "Still In Love", "The Stories We Tell Ourselves" proves that confessionals have never been so catchy — and songs like "Let 'Em Burn" seamlessly alternate between aggression and anthemic pop.
Lyrically the band was further informed by everything from the writings of Carl Jung and C.S. Lewis to the potent psychedelic DMT, the latter of which helped open Hawkins's mind to new ways of understanding himself and the world around him.
NOTHING MORE has announced a 2018 extension to its current U.S. headline tour, which sees the band headlining venues from coast to coast.
NOTHING MORE's live show is a sight to behold; it features a 400 lb., 14-foot-tall instrument made from scrap metal, automotive and motorcycle parts. The instrument was hand-crafted by Oliver, a self-taught welder and metal artist. It looks and sounds like nothing you've come across and must be seen to be believed.

"When it came to finding someone to produce it, we thought the best possible person would be the guy that produced Leftoverture 40 years ago. So, we called Jeff Glixman!"

BLUES PILLS Release “Elements And Things” Video From Upcoming Lady In Gold - Live In Paris ReleaseMulti-national rock act, Blues Pills, have released an official live video for “Elements And Things”, taken from the DVD/Blu-ray, Lady In Gold - Live In Paris, out on November 3rd and available for purchase here.
The release features the band’s sold out performance at Le Trianon in Paris, France on October 30th, 2016 in front of 1,200 euphoric fans.
Commented the band: "We are stoked to share with you that we will release a live record/ DVD which was recorded and filmed during our show in Paris at Le Trianon last October on the Lady in Gold Tour. We decided to do this because we want to share our live experience with all our fans and also those fans who might have never had the chance to see us live. The live interpretation of our songs differs a lot from the studio record versions. We would call it a bit more rock’n roll, more heavy, more jam parts, more psychedelic parts – simply another experience . Playing live is what we've always enjoyed most. In no other situation can you connect as deep with your fans. We tried to catch the magical moments and emotions of the live atmosphere on DVD/ record for your living rooms, cars and wherever you will rock out to it. Paris was chosen because it means a lot to us to play in this beautiful city and also Le Trianon is one of the most beautiful venues in Europe – this needed to get shared with you!“

NOCTEM Premier “A Cruce Salus” Music VideoSpanish blackened extreme metal band, Noctem, released their 2016 full-length album, Haeresis, via Prosthetic Records to great buzz. Earlier this year, the band followed up with a separate digital single, "A Cruce Salus", giving fans a taste of what's soon to come.
Now, the band reveals their brand new music video for the track. The video, which features blistering black & white live performance footage, can be viewed below. The live performance footage in the video was filmed by Metalovisión at three festivals in Spain this past summer - Rock Arena, Resurrection Fest, and Leyendas del Rock.
The band says, "'A Cruce Salus' is the last track we composed and a bridge between our latest full length Haeresis and our upcoming record. We decided to record some of the festivals where we performed this summer to capture the energy of the band in our live show, which is outstandingly fast, ravenous and full of anger."
Order "A Cruce Salus" here.
Noctem have dominated the stage and studio for over 15 years, with two demos, one live LP and four albums under their belts. The band has performed internationally with artists such as Marduk, Enthroned, Impiety, Napalm Death, Samael, Gorgoroth, Nargaroth, Keep Of Kalessin, Taake, Immolation, Vomitory, Malevolent Creation, Incantation, Hate, Ragnarok, Melechesh and many more.
The band's latest album, Haeresis, presents a haunting aural account of their home country's grotesque and obscene history during the Spanish Inquisition throughout 1500 A.C. stretched out over ten menacing tracks. Noctem self-recorded Haeresis in 2016 at Fireworks Studios (Valencia) before sending the album for mixing and mastering by Tore Stjerna (Watain, Valkyrja) at Sweden's Necromorbus Studios.

PRIMITIVE RACE Featuring Former FAITH NO MORE Singer CHUCK MOSLEY, MELVINS Drummer DALE CROVER Streaming New Song “Take It All”Primitive Race, the hard rock/industrial hybrid helmed by Chris Kniker with core members Mark Gemini Thwaite (The Mission UK, Peter Murphy) and Erie Loch (Wiccid, Luxt), release their sophomore album, Soul Pretender, on November 3rd via Metropolis Records. The album track “Take It All” is available for streaming below.
As was the case with the band’s debut, Kniker brought an impressive group of guest musicians into the Primitive Race fold, with the full album featuring vocals by former Faith No More singer Chuck Mosley (pictured above) and drums by the Melvins’ Dale Crover. The album was produced by the band’s core trio, with Kniker recruiting Maor Appelbaum (Faith No More, Sepultura) for mastering, Toshi Kasai (Melvins, Helmet) for engineering and Joe Haze (tweaker, PIG) for mixing.
“Musically, Soul Pretender was a natural progression from the first album,” explains Kniker. “To have Chuck and Dale involved was perfect! They really brought a new vision to the project. Their style is a perfect match with Mark, Erie and myself. This record is more focused and organic. I wanted more of an alternative rock record. Stripped down. Live real drums. There’s space in the record. I didn’t want some overly polished ‘perfect’ record.”
Soul Pretender tracklisting:
“Row House”
“Cry Out”
“Cranial Matter”
“Take It All”
“Bed Six”
“Stepping Stone”
“Turn It Up”
“Soul Pretender”
“Nothing To Behold”
“Dancing On The Sun”
“Take It All”:
"On 'Take It All’, Chuck Mosley came up with great honest and dark lyrics that I think are relatable for the listener. There is a certain beauty and grittiness that coexist in the song, which makes it one of my favorites on the record," explained Chris Kniker.

Sweden’s SHINING To Release Fiende 10” Vinyl EP In November; “Jag Är Din Fiende” Track StreamingSweden's Shining, featuring founder/frontman Niklas Kvarforth, have unleashed the first track taken from their forthcoming album, X - Varg Utan Flock, to be released on January 5th via Season Of Mist. The song "Jag Är Din Fiende" will also be released as the A-side of a 10" vinyl EP, entitled Fiende (out Novever 24th), available for pre-order here.
Niklas Kvarforth comments on the new song: "The third track, 'Jag Är Din Fiende', from our upcoming tenth album embodies everything that Shining represents on a musical level. An uncompromising mix of high and low tainted with a sinister atmosphere of horrible unease. Lyrically, this track speaks of the need and means for retribution, making not only this, but the album overall, infused with a nightmarish maliciousness and a pitch-black hatred that hasn't been as prominent on our earlier albums. There is a war coming and this is our statement on what we have in store for you!"

LULLWATER Dive Into The Deep End On New Album; Band Recording Their “Biggest, Most Personal Album To Date”With two highly successful albums under their belt and countless national tours with such A-list bands as Candlebox, Theory Of A Deadman, Flyleaf, Passafire, and Amaranthe, renowned rockers Lullwater are heading into some uncharted territory as they team up with producer Jakob Herrmann (Anthrax, Machine Head, Amaranthe) and engineer Justin Davis (Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, Nirvana’s Chad Channing, Guns ‘N’ Roses’ Duff McKagan) to record what they are already calling their “biggest, most mature, honest, and personal project yet”.
Slated for a March 2018 release, Lullwater’s third album is expected to feature approximately 10-12 songs and while the new music will still embody the gritty, Southern-rock swagger that they have become known for, fans can expect the new tracks to go deeper than previous albums, according to lead singer John Strickland.
“This album is much more personal - we've had a tumultuous two years since we released Revival and that is reflected in the music”, Strickland said. “Not that the songs will be all doom and gloom. But they'll definitely convey a depth that will expose us in a way that our fans haven't seen yet.”
To achieve this bolder sound, the band is recording digitally for the very first time so that the new songs are more layered and every element has room to “breathe.” However, Strickland assures fans that the new material will still stay true to their signature sound.
“The new album will sound like us and be true to our rock roots. We're not looking to reinvent ourselves - but, just as we've grown, so has our writing”, he said.
Lullwater’s third album will be available on iTunes, Spotify and wherever digital music is sold. Physical copies will also be available at all of the band’s shows.
For more information about Lullwater and for all of the latest updates on the new album, visit lullwatermusic.com. You can also find the band on Facebook.

SILENT SCREAMS Release Music Video For New Single “Low”Coventry, UK-based metallers, Silent Screams, have released their new single, “Low”, the first song from the band’s upcoming, yet-untitled album, coming in early 2018. A video for the song can be found below.
Formed in 2007 by Tom Craig, Sam Varney, Ozzi Osman, Adam Mallabone and James Ryan, the band quickly started working on their first EP. In 2008 with the help of producer Matt Hyde (As I Lay Dying, Gallows, Funeral For A Friend) Silent Screams self-released “Ghosts”. The band signed with Ghost Music and in 2011 released their first full length, When It Rains, which was recorded and produced by Joey Sturgis (Asking Alexandria, The Devil Wears Prada, Miss May I). They shot a video for the title track and started gaining attention worldwide.
Silent Screams has since been through a lineup change replacing lead vocalist James Ryan with Joel Heywood in 2012. The band has since signed with Artery Recordings and in 2014 released their second full length Hope For Now. The sophomore album has done very well and had very impressive chart positions.
Following the touring cycle for Hope For Now, Tom decided to leave the band for personal reasons. The band recruited Mikey Scrivens, a long time friend, to be the new bass player/singer. Mikey joined the band on tours with The Browning and Asking Alexandria. The band recorded the single "Love/Less” featuring Mikey on vocals. Following the 2017 European tour with Asking Alexandria, Mikey decided touring wasn’t for him and he stepped aside.
The band had kept good relations with Tom and spoke to him about potentially working together on future projects. Tom decided to rejoin Silent Screams and they started working on the bands third studio album, which they began writing and recording in 2017. The band will be on a European tour with In Hearts Wake and Gideon, starting on October 3rd.
Lineup:
Joel Heywood - Vocals
Tom Craig - Bass/Vocals
Sam Varney - Guitars
Ozzi Osman - Guitars

AEROSMITH's STEVEN TYLER Reportedly Suffered A Seizure After Sao Paulo ConcertA "source close to" AEROSMITH has told the Boston Globe that singer Steven Tyler suffered a seizure after the band's show in Sao Paulo, Brazil Monday night (September 25). It's not clear what caused the seizure or if Tyler received a diagnosis before rushing home from South America and leaving behind a handful of canceled tour dates.
Affected shows were Wednesday's (September 27) concert in Curitiba, Brazil; September 30 in Santiago, Chile; October 3 in Rosario, Argentina; and October 7 in Monterrey, Mexico.
A message to fans was posted on Aerosmith.com and on social media, stating in part: "Unfortunately, due to unexpected medical issues, lead singer, Steven Tyler, is seeking immediate care and has been advised by his doctors that he cannot travel or perform at this time. Therefore, the last four shows of the South American tour will be canceled... Steven is expected to make a full recovery. With proper rest and treatment he will be back on his feet soon rocking the world. Thank you all for your understanding and support."
Tyler himself posted a personal message within the statement, which reads: "To everybody in South America — Brazil, Chile, Argentina and Mexico — I'm very sorry and feel like I've let you down. I won't be able to continue the last four shows of this tour. I flew back to the U.S. on doctor's orders last night after the show in Sao Paulo. Please not to worry. I am not in a life-threatening condition, but I need to deal with this right away and get some rest and medical care immediately in order to sustain and maintain my future performances. I promise I'll be back. Unfortunately, health does not wait and it's something even I can't schedule around our shows. As they say, 'We humans make plans, and God laughs.' I love you all and will be back with you soon."
In addition to battling their personal addictions, the members of AEROSMITH have dealt with bassist Tom Hamilton's bout with throat and tongue cancer, Tyler's multiple foot surgeries, and in 2016 Joe Perry, collapsed on stage during a HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES gig with a suspected cardiac arrest.
Tyler recently told The Pulse Of Radio that he doesn't ever see a time when he'll retire from the road. "No, I don't know if I know how to do that," he said. "I know that Joe and I, we questioned it a couple of times about whether, y'know, whether we would go out again. We took a year off. I remember I had hep-C (hepatitis-C) and decided to take a year off, and I literally got rid of it. I mean, it's one of the few miracles known to man. I kicked its ass!" 5

Quebec’s CARDINALS PRIDE To Release Debut Full-Length, The Quiet Erosion; “Marrow” Music Video StreamingQuebec-based metalcore band, Cardinals Pride, have announced that they will release their debut full-length, The Quiet Erosion, on November 10th via New Damage Records worldwide. Produced by Cameron McLellan (Protest The Hero) at All Buttons In Studio in Ottawa, The Quiet Erosion follows Cardinals Pride’s 2016 EP Those People Will Never Die, which featured the monster single “Bearers”.
In anticipation of their forthcoming full-length, the band has just premiered the official video for their brand new single “Marrow”, which is available for streaming below.
Says Alex Pare of the track, “’Marrow’ is one of the first songs we wrote on The Quiet Erosion and we’re so happy to finally release it. It’s a song that has changed a lot since its first draft and I feel like going through those rearrangements has helped us refine our songwriting for the album. As for the lyrics, ‘Marrow’ is about refusing to shut it down when it comes to issues that matter to me. For a long time, I tried to avoid fights and arguments with my friends, coworkers and family. However, at one point I realized that remaining silent when consistently disagreeing with someone made me feel terribly miserable inside. Speaking up may make it more tense between you and your surroundings, but it’s worth it if you truly want things to change.”
The Quiet Erosion is available to pre-order (physical version) via New Damage Records here. A digital pre-order is available as of Friday, September 29th, here. Fans who take advantage of the pre-order will receive “Marrow” as an instant grat track.
Established in 2010 in Quebec City, QC, Cardinals Pride is comprised of Paré, Didier Archambault (guitar), Nicolas Doiron (guitar), Antoine McNulty-LaSalle (bass) and Nicolas Sénéchal (drums). Since the release of their EP Priorities in 2012, the 6-piece has toured relentlessly across Canada playing hundreds of shows, and along the way have built a name for themselves as one of Canada’s best new metalcore acts.
In support of their debut full-length, Cardinals Pride will be playing a handful of dates in Ontario, Nova Scotia and Quebec. For all Canadian tour dates, please see below.

MARYANN COTTON Releases “I’m The Devil” SingleMaryann Cotton and Chrome Music Group has set an October 2nd release date for Maryann Cotton’s new album, titled Murder. It will be made available on all digital platforms and formats, CD, and limited-edition LP. The 9-track album has been recorded in USA, Denmark, and Sweden, and is written by Maryann Cotton and co-writer Hal Patino. It was produced by Maryann Cotton, and recorded by Hal Patino, Sebastian Sly, Joel Korpela and Cotton. Listen to new single "I'm The Devil" below.
With regards to the Murder album title, Cotton said: "I love that title! We wanted a title that sounded hard and mean, and it fits really well with the whole vibe of the album. It's old fashioned but modern at the same time, it’s the darkest album we’ve ever done but it’s not depressing at all, it's actually a very up-album!
It’s very experimental and the sound is dirty and dry, we have worked very hard on this album and I think that the whole thing has been taken to another level! Right now I just can’t wait for the fans to hear it! It’s pure rock 'n roll!''
The tracklist is as follows:
"Cursed"
"Bitch Bitching"
"Resurrection"
"Live It Up"
"I'm The Devil"
"Impales Your Empire"
"Cold Crazy Baby"
"Soldier Boy"
"For The Angels"

NASHVILLE PUSSY To Cover NAZARETH On Upcoming Album, GREG MARTIN From THE KENTUCKY HEADHUNTERS Guests; Studio Pictures PostedJust prior to taking a break from recording their as yet untitled seventh studio album - to go and see ZZ Top live at Carson Center in Paducah, KY - Nashville Pussy guitarist Ruyter Suys contacted Brave Words with the following exclusive update:
"We're in the studio in music central - Glasgow, KY. We got local hero Greg Martin from The Kentucky Headhunters playing fucking slide on our Nazareth song, 'Woke Up This Morning'. He let me play his '58 Les Paul he got from Hank Jr - and it used to be owned by Skynyrd's Ed King."
"Daniel Rey (Ramones, The Misfits) is producing. We're at David Barrick's studio - this county used to be dry - back when we did Say Something Nasty here (in 2002). Booze has been sold a total of four months here now."
Greg Martin also chimed in, saying, "Another fun day at the studio with Ruyter Suys, the Nashville Pussy cat gang, Daniel Rey and David Barrick. Of course, Mr. E was there to monitor things. Got to play slide on their COOL version of 'Woke Up This Morning' by Nazareth. Tuned ole' 'Hank' up to Open B, plugged into Ruyter's 1972 Marshall Super Lead 100, it was a fun time for all! Great seeing Blaine and Ruyter again, it's been a few years."
Nashville Pussy is aiming for an April 2018 release for their new album, via an as yet undisclosed label. Vocalist and rhythm guitarist Blaine Cartwright previously commented, "As far as what it's going to sound like, let's just say it'll sound like if The Sex Pistols did Physical Graffiti (by Led Zeppelin)."
Until then, fans can rejoice in the fact that the SPV compilation Ten Years Of Pussy, highlighting the best songs from Up The Dosage, From Hell To Texas, and Get Some, will be available on double vinyl on October 13th.
In live news, Nashville Pussy return to the road in October and November with shows scheduled in: Iceland, France, The UK, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Croatia, Netherlands, Belgium, and Spain. See their complete tour schedule at this location.

MARILLION Premier Official Music Video For “Living In F E A R”October 13th 2017 will see prog rock giants Marillion playing the Royal Albert Hall for the very first time, performing their magnificent Top 5 chart album, F*** Everyone And Run (F E A R), but also celebrating a very special live version of their epic “Living In F E A R” - a powerful song about peace and reflection, a song with a more generalized look at fear that seems to characterize our times, and particularly the response it creates. An official video for the track can be found below.
“Living in F E A R strangely is a misleading title because that’s a song about ceasing to live in fear,” says singer Steve Hogarth. “It’s a kind of a hippie song about how you can choose to melt your guns as a show of strength, how you can choose to leave your doors unlocked as a show of strength and not weakness. And that we are mirrors: if you go around defensively and that becomes your outlook, you bring on that in the rest of the world. Whereas if you go around with love and the walls are down, people take the walls down, too.”
“Living In F E A R” will be released October 6th and comes in a limited CD Digipak as well as in a limited and numbered 12” vinyl edition, carrying three additional unreleased live songs: The fifth section of “The Leavers”, called “One Tonight”, a song about leaving lives and families behind to go on tour and being in a new country - a very personal song for Marillion. The epic “Neverland”, originally from Marbles, and “Dry Land”, originally from Holidays In Eden, complete this EP: two live versions released for the first time outside of the band's own Racket Records catalogue, serving a precursor of a strictly limited reissue series of the band's jewels, so far only sold or shared to through their wonderful web shop, starting January 2018.
Often referred to as the leaders of the neo-progressive movement of the early 80s, Marillion is way more than that. They are purveyors of soulful, powerful, and deeply-moving music, with a long-standing reputation of impressive live shows and an imposing, faithful and loyal global fan base. As the first of their peers, Marillion have started to embrace the potential of the internet for both their commercial approach and to interact with their audience. Throughout their over 35 years career and over 15 million records sold they have become the most outstanding representatives of their genre. With their latest studio album F*** Everyone And Run (F E A R), their second released by earMUSIC and the band’s highest charting album across the globe since Steve Hogarth joined in 1989, Marillion have shown that they are as brilliant and vital as ever.
