CARCASS Frontman JEFF WALKER Breaks Foot

CARCASS Frontman JEFF WALKER Breaks Foot

Bassist/vocalist Jeff Walker of British extreme metal pioneers CARCASS broke the the proximal fifth metatarsal bone in his left foot prior to the band's March 19 concert in Seattle, Washington as the support act for SLAYER and TESTAMENT.

Walker has received medical treatment for his injury and is expected to complete the tour, which will wrap on March 26 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The metatarsal bones are the long bones in the middle of the foot. Each metatarsal bone has a base, a shaft, a neck and a head. The fifth metatarsal is the last bone at the outside of the foot, and most breaks of the fifth metatarsal occur at the base.

CARCASS is continuing to tour in support of its latest album, "Surgical Steel", which sold around 8,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 41 on The Billboard 200 chart.

A special edition of "Surgical Steel" was released last October on CD and digitally and on vinyl in November via Nuclear Blast. The "Complete Edition" includes the whole album "Surgical Steel", along with the entire "Surgical Remission / Surplus Steel" EP. All the songs were recorded during the "Surgical Steel" sessions, which were helmed by producer Colin Richardson (NAPALM DEATH, BOLT THROWER, GOREFEST, CANNIBAL CORPSE, SINISTER, RODRIGO Y GABRIELA) and mixed/mastered by Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, ACCEPT, EXODUS, TESTAMENT).

MR. BIG Guitarist PAUL GILBERT To Release

MR. BIG Guitarist PAUL GILBERT To Release 'I Can Destroy' Album In May

From platinum album sales and number one chart success as a founding member of MR. BIG, to frightening the guitar community with new levels of ferocious picking technique with shred-pioneers RACER X, to exploring punk, pop, classical, blues, jazz, and progressive instrumental styles in his solo career, Paul Gilbert has recorded a massive amount of stunning guitar music, all while circling the globe to play sold-out arenas from Japan to Jakarta.

His newest record, "I Can Destroy", will be released on May 27 via earMUSIC.

Gilbert's style stands out for its rare combination of accuracy, creativity, and power — all which are balanced with Paul's sense of humor and pure love of music.

Although Paul is best known for his work with MR. BIG and RACER X, he has also toured with Joe Satriani's G3, played in a host of tribute concerts with legendary drummer Mike Portnoy, and been integral in the design of his signature Ibanez PGM and Fireman guitars.

Paul's legacy as a guitar instructor began when he was eighteen, when he was hired to teach at Hollywood's Guitar Institute of Technology. His groundbreaking "Intense Rock" videos and DVDs have inspired legions of guitarists to improve their accuracy, speed, and phrasing. Years as a columnist for Guitar Player magazine, and most recently Premier Guitar magazine, along with giving countless clinics, private lessons, and serving for five years as the dean of MI Japan, have given Paul Gilbert deep experience in the art of communicating music to all levels of guitarists.

Over twenty-five years in the music business have only increased Paul's passion to explore the possibilities of music and the art of playing the guitar. Whether he's playing to 10,000 fans or jamming one-on-one with a student, Paul Gilbert is living his childhood dream of taking the sounds in his head and bringing them into reality — on the electric guitar.

"I Can Destroy" is Paul's next solo masterpiece and will be his 18th solo album. The album features 13 very diverse rock-tunes. With Kevin Shirley producing, and an amazing band of Freddie Nelson and Tony Spinner on guitars and vocals, Kevin Chown on bass, and Thomas Lang on drums, Paul rocks with more power and emotion than ever before. "I Can Destroy" track listing:

01. Everybody Use Your Goddamn Turn Signal02. I Can Destroy03. Knocking On a Locked Door 04. One Woman Too Many05. Woman Stop06. Gonna Make You Love Me07. I Am Not the One (Who Wants To Be With You)08. Blues Just Saving My Life09. Make It (If We Try)10. Love We Had11. I Will Be Remembered12. Adventure and Trouble13. Great White Buffalo (bonus track)

TONY IOMMI Says BLACK SABBATH

TONY IOMMI Says BLACK SABBATH's Last-Ever Concert Could Be Held In Birmingham

According to Birmingham Mail, BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi took part in an "Audience With..." event on Saturday (March 19) about his life. He was in conversation with TV sports presenter Gary Newbon at Birmingham Town Hall in Birmingham, England.

Speaking about BLACK SABBATH's touring plans after the band's current final announced date in Phoenix on September 21, Iommi said: "We are off to Australia in a couple of weeks, but it would be nice to think it could finish back where it all started — in Birmingham.

"When we are home where we started, we have always found it a bit nerve-racking, but Birmingham means such a lot to us."

Asked if there could be a live album, he said: "It's possible, because we are doing a lot of filming during the tour, too."

Iommi said that SABBATH's farewell tour, which began in January, is truly its last because he is not physically capable of doing it any longer. But he insisted that he would continue to play music. "I just can't keep going out on these long tours," he said.

Iommi, who was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2012 and was treated all through SABBATH's extensive 2013 world tour, admitted last year that he was worried the rigors of the road could bring the disease back. He revealed: "I don't want that creeping back again, and all the traveling involved in SABBATH tours increasingly takes its toll. That's why we're going out on one last tour, to say our farewells. And then it very definitely is the end. We won't be doing it again."

The legendary guitarist continued: "Don't get me wrong, I still love gigging. It's all the traveling and the exhaustion that goes with it that's the problem. That side of things has a big impact on me… I love being up there onstage, playing with SABBATH. What I don't love is all the other stuff necessary to enable that to happen."

Iommi was hospitalized last year with back problems, and he still requires blood tests every six weeks to monitor his lymphoma.

GENE SIMMONS Slammed By TALIB KWELI Over Rap Death Prediction

GENE SIMMONS Slammed By TALIB KWELI Over Rap Death Prediction

Talib Kweli has fired back at Gene Simmons for the KISS bassist/vocalist's prediction that "rap will die." The rapper, who has more than one million followers on Twitter, posted a clip of Simmons's recent interview with Rolling Stone and asked his fans: "Would it be unfair of me to say I'm looking forward to the death @genesimmons or nah?" He added: "Chuck Berry shits on KISS."

Simmons, who previously spoke out about his frustration with rap and hip-hop artists being inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, later clarified his words by tweeting: "Apparently pointing out that everything is cyclical — even music — is 'controversial.' People are very easily offended."

But Kweli wasn't impressed with Simmons's answer, writing: "Pointing out everything is 'cyclical' is different than 'looking forward' to things dying. Do better Gene." He then posted lyrics from KRS-ONE's "Hip Hop Lives".

During a chat with Rolling Stone to commemorate the 40th anniversary of KISS's groundbreaking 1976 album "Destroyer", Gene couldn't help but talk about the current state of music, explaining, "Rap will die. Next year, ten years from now, at some point, and then something else will come along. And all that is good and healthy… I am looking forward to the death of rap. I'm looking forward to music coming back to lyrics and melody, instead of just talking. A song, as far as I'm concerned, is by definition lyric and melody... or just melody."

New Photo Of

New Photo Of 'Muscular' GUNS N' ROSES Singer AXL ROSE Posted On Instagram

A GUNS N' ROSES fan has posted a photo on Instagram that he says shows him standing next to the band's lead singer, Axl Rose, in Atlanta yesterday (Friday, March 18).

Mark Guglielmo, who goes by the handle "notonestraw" on Instagram, went on to say that Rose told him GUNS N' ROSES — which recently reunited with guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan — was planning to do "a whole tour" after the band's recently announced comeback shows.

GUNS N' ROSES has six concerts scheduled so far, all in April: two at the Coachella Music And Arts Festival, two in Las Vegas and two in Mexico City. The exact band lineup has yet to be confirmed.

Guglielmo said he wished Rose good luck on those "few shows," but that the singer responded "thanks, man, but we're going to do a whole tour." Guglielmo added in the comment thread accompanying the photo: "I don't want to speculate or spread rumors, but it really looked like he's been working out a lot. His arms looked muscular."

The lineup for GN'R's April shows has been the subject of intense speculation ever since the first of the dates were announced, at the Coachella Music And Arts Festival in Indio, California.

From the start it's been rumored that original GUNS members Izzy Stradlin and Steven Adler would not be part of these shows or a possible stadium tour this summer.

Stradlin recently confirmed on Twitter that he has no involvement in the GUNS shows, while Adler has remained silent.

The rest of the band's lineup for the shows — and a potential tour later in the year — remains unclear, although keyboardist Dizzy Reed, drummer Frank Ferrer and guitarist Richard Fortus are all believed to be involved.

UDO DIRKSCHNEIDER Performs ACCEPT Classics: Video Footage Of Entire Thessaloniki Concert

UDO DIRKSCHNEIDER Performs ACCEPT Classics: Video Footage Of Entire Thessaloniki Concert

Former ACCEPT and current U.D.O. singer Udo Dirkschneider last month embarked on a special tour during which he is performing ACCEPT songs one last time before he closes the chapter for good.

Fan-filmed video footage of Dirkschneider's entire March 18 concert at Principal in Thessaloniki, Greece can be seen below (courtesy of Industry Kills).

Dirkschneider's setlist was as follows:

01. Starlight02. Living For Tonite03. Flash Rockin' Man04. London Leatherboys05. Midnight Mover06. Breaker07. Head Over Heels08. Neon Nights09. Princess Of The Dawn10. Winterdreams11. Restless And Wild12. Son Of A Bitch13. Up To The Limit14. Wrong Is Right15. Midnight Highway16. Screaming For A Love Bite17. Monsterman18. TV War19. Losers And Winners

Encore:

20. Metal Heart21. I'm A Rebel22. Fast As A Shark23. Balls To The Wall24. Burning

Asked about his decision to perform classic songs from ACCEPT for the last time in 2016 under the DIRKSCHNEIDER banner, Udo told rock journalist Mitch Lafon: "A lot of people ask me, 'Why do you do this?' And I said… Always people are asking, 'Oh, can you play this ACCEPT song and this ACCEPT song and this ACCEPT song?' I mean, I have fifteen U.D.O. albums out, and, for me now, U.D.O. is U.D.O. Of course, I know that the people like to hear ACCEPT songs with my voice, but I wanna close something — I wanna close, like a book, and say, 'Okay, that's it. I read it.' Sometimes you have to come to an end with something. I wanna close up everything with ACCEPT. And this will be the last time. And I said, okay, I'll do one more tour. It will be a world tour. Hopefully we can do this also for America, around maybe a couple of shows. And yeah, that will be the last time that you… When we are on tour with U.D.O., we'll never play any ACCEPT songs again."

He continued: "I also wanna stop to be compared with… Now ACCEPT is still on tour, and they have a new singer, and they are doing also 'Balls To The Wall' and they are doing also 'Metal Heart', they do 'Princess Of The Dawn'. And I don't wanna be always compared and have to say, 'What do you think about this and this and this?' This is also another reason. I wanna close the ACCEPT chapter. I mean, it was a great… I mean, in a way, I was creating this band, you know. Sometimes you have to say, 'Okay, that's it.' I have enough U.D.O. songs, so I can play more U.D.O. songs and be U.D.O. I can say without being arrogant, U.D.O. has its own fan base now. Sometimes you have to say, 'Okay, that's it.'"

Udo went on to say: "There is a band called ACCEPT. And please, if you wanna hear these songs, please go then to [see] ACCEPT. [Laughs] So that's the only thing I can say. Now you'll have the chance next year to hear it with the original voice, but Mark [Tornillo, current ACCEPT singer] is doing a — I would say — really good job on it, so please go there and listen then to ACCEPT and U.D.O. is then U.D.O."

Regarding what makes the classic ACCEPT songs so special, Udo said: "I don't know what is special. You never can tell it, really. Like [DEEP PURPLE's] 'Smoke On The Water', in a way, something like this. Sometimes there's a song that, in a way, that stays forever."

The April 2 DIRKSCHNEIDER concert at Kaminwerk in Memmingen, Germany will be professionally filmed and recorded for a DVD and CD release later this year.

EMBALMER Streaming New Track "I Am The EMBALMER”; Emanations From The Crypt Album Details Revealed

EMBALMER Streaming New Track "I Am The EMBALMER”; Emanations From The Crypt Album Details Revealed

American death metal cult Embalmer are streaming the new track "I Am The Embalmer" (available in the widget below). The track hails from the band's long-awaited second album, Emanations From The Crypt, set for international release on April 1st via Hells Headbangers.

The long-running band's first album for longtime fans Hells Headbangers, Emanations From The Crypt is both a new start for Embalmer and a return to its classic, core values. In 1995, the band released the classic There Was Blood Everywhere EP (of which Hells Headbangers reissued in 2014, and which sold out quickly) on then-death metal powerhouse Relapse Records, forever etching Embalmer's name into death metal legendry. Lineup shuffles ensued in the following years, culminating in the band's debut album, 2006's 13 Faces Of Death, which is widely regarded (even by the band) as a misstep.

Now armed with a vital 'n' vile lineup, Embalmer return to their dark 'n' disgusting roots with Emanations From The Crypt. Across a dozen quick-hitting yet complete tracks, you will find all the trademark Embalmer elements which obsessed fans back in the '90s: insane and completely pure blastbeats, sewer-sick riffing, wretched gurgles, and tortured shrieks atop some of the catchiest (but NOT cheesy) songwriting you'll find on a modern death metal record. The production is anything but "modern" in the pejorative sense: there are no triggers used on the drums, no beat- or riff-replacement anywhere, and just absolute crushing sickness flowing forth from both guitar and bass, all without losing an ounce of clarity. It's a classic death metal record from a classic death metal band in an era that's far from "classic" and full of pretenders.

Says Gorefiend, “This record is long-overdue, and we acknowledge that. The band never was truly happy with the 13 Faces Of Death album, so we worked hard to really make sure this release was a return-to-form of sorts, and true representation of what we feel Embalmer is, and always has been. We went back to the basics and drew influence from the original Into the Oven and There Was Blood Everywhere eras musically, peppered in some extra Terrorizer/Autopsy influences, added some crazed Deranged Rated-X-style riffing over the top, and backed it all against the blasting, non-triggered drum assault Roy has become known for. Matter of fact, Roy still plays the same drum-set he bought in 1988, and used for all previous recordings. Vocally, all the elements older fans expect from an Embalmer release are present, from forceful lows, the trademark eeeeeees, and tortured shrieks and highs. I am speaking as a 20-plus-year fan myself, and not a member when I tell you this is the most aggressive, blistering and punishing Embalmer release to date. Yes, the wait was long but definitely worth it, and we honestly can’t wait to get this music out to the fans and hear their feedback!”

Tracklisting:

“Dead Female Stalker”
“I Am The Embalmer”
“Emanations From The Crypt”
“The Coroners Report”
“Undead Exaltation”
“The Casket Calls”
“Procession Of Bones”
“Botched”
“Reduced To Human Scum”
“The Apocalyptic Rains”
“They Can Smell Our Blood”
“The Graveyard Fog” (Outro)

Emanations From The Crypt by EMBALMER

Plans are also in the works for Hells Headbangers to re-release Embalmer's Into the Oven (1991) and Taxidermist (1992) demos on gatefold double- or triple-LP, and of course, with tons of unreleased recordings, photos, fliers, and extensive bonus materials which have been recently unearthed from the morbid vaults. This will be the definitive collection for Embalmer's classic 1990-1992 era, and provide a rotted glimpse back to the earliest eras of the band, which previously began as Corpsegrinder in 1988/'89 before the name change.

Embalmer lineup:

Paul Gorefiend - vocals
Roy Stewart - drums
Steve Pedley - guitar
Don Wolff - guitar
Joe Wunderle - bass

GAME OVER Release “Neon Maniacs” Music Video; Tour Dates Announced

European thrash metallers, Game Over, have released a video for “Neon Maniacs”, a track from their new album, Crimes Against Reality, out on April 1st via Scarlet Records.

Crimes Against Reality is the third album for Game Over, one of the most promising up and coming bands in the European metal scene. Crimes Against Reality contains ten new tracks that mix sharp riffs, anthemic choruses and powerful rhythms, enriched by the use of unusual instruments such as Moogs and Hammonds. Lyrics vary from B-movie scenarios to social-political themes, science fiction, mythology and dystopian visions. The album was recorded by Simone Mularoni (DGM) at Domination Studio in San Marino.

Cover artwork was created by Mario E. Lopez (Evil Invaders, Impalers, Hyades).

Tracklisting:

CANDLEMASS Mainman LEIF EDLING

CANDLEMASS Mainman LEIF EDLING's THE DOOMSDAY KINGDOM Project Releases 'Never Machine' Demo EP

The demo recordings from THE DOOMSDAY KINGDOM, the new solo project from CANDLEMASS bassist and songwriter Leif Edling, have been made available for purchase on very limited-edition vinyl and as a digital download via Bandcamp. Both the "Never Machine" demo EP (four tracks) and the "Never Machine" seven-inch single are available in 250 copies each: 150 black and 100 copies in colored vinyl.

"Never Machine" demo EP track listing: 01. Never Machine02. The Sceptre03. Zodiac City 04. The Whispering

"Never Machine" was the first song written by Leif for THE DOOMSDAY KINGDOM. "The Sceptre" is about an evergoing war between the red and the black queen. "Zodiac City" features guest vocals from Niklas "Viper" Stålvind of Swedish metallers WOLF. "The Whispering" is a ghostlike ballad sung by Leif, featuring a beautiful string/mellotron arrangement by Carl Westholm, and nice acoustic guitar played by Marcus Jidell.

Leif is currently working on the debut album from THE DOOMSDAY KINGDOM, tentatively due in the fall.

Edling stated about THE DOOMSDAY KINGDOM: "THE DOOMSDAY KINGDOM was created two years ago. I was in pretty bad shape. I couldn't go out, I couldn't work, I wasn't allowed to read, I couldn't watch telly and I wasn't allowed to work in front of the computer, so all I had was the music. And I created THE DOOMSDAY KINGDOM, metal from the catacombs."

Edling on "Zodiac City": "This song is another one that I wrote back in 2014 when I was pretty sick, and it's about the Zodiac [the nickname given to an unidentified serial killer who operated in northern California in the late 1960s and early 1970s].

"In general, I don't like songs about serial killers, because there's way too many people glorifying them, but I really like the movie."

Edling won't be playing live with CANDLEMASS this year because he is "still burnt out."

CANDLEMASS will release a special 30th-anniversary EP titled "Death Thy Lover" on June 3 via Napalm. The four-track effort — which features Mats Levén on vocals — was recorded during September/October and will be made available as a four-page digipack, one-LP gatefold edition and one-LP gatefold webstore edition and old-school "skull-and-cross" slipmat. The cover artwork for the EP was created by Erik Rovanperä.

Edling's AVATARIUM project released its second album, "The Girl With The Raven Mask", in October 2015 via Nuclear Blast. The CD was released in North America as part of a joint licensing venture between Nuclear Blast and Metalville.

IHSAHN:

IHSAHN: 'DIAMANDA GALÁS's 'Plague Mass' Is Just As Black Metal As Any BATHORY Album'

On March 19, Marin Soldatić of Metal Jacket Magazine conducted an interview with EMPEROR frontman Ihsahn (real name: Vegard Sverre Tveitan). You can now listen to the chat in the YouTube clip below.

Asked if he follows today's black metal scene and what his opinion is on it, Ihsahn said: "I don't really follow anything. [Laughs] I guess that was my problem, even at the start. I must admit that it was always my colleague Samoth [guitar] from EMPEROR who had the big network and connections and everything. And I've been kind of tagging along and focusing on doing the music and writing lyrics and all that."

He continued: "It's kind of paradox. I mean, this whole black metal scene, with all these rules and kind of fashion police [laughs] coming out from this very individualistic and free-thought type of philosophy. So, for me, I think, in my own mind, what I do now musically is still black metal. For me, it comes from the same source. So, to me, black metal is not a type of guitar sound played at this or this speed with screeching vocals. For me, black metal is an attitude and an atmosphere. For me, Diamanda Galás' 'Plague Mass' is just as black metal as any BATHORY album."

Ihsahn's sixth solo album, "Arktis", will be released on April 8. The effort will be available in standard CD, deluxe CD (featuring additional exclusive content), and vinyl formats via Candlelight Records. The album's first single, "Mass Darkness", is available via iTunes and Amazon. It is available for streaming now via Spotify. The Michael Dickinson-created (ORANGE GOBLIN, GALLOWS) lyric video for the song available can be seen below. "Arktis" was recorded at Ihsahn's studio in Notodden, Norway and was mixed in Sweden by Jens Bogren (OPETH, KATATONIA). The album features ten songs and is the longest and most spirited of Ihsahn's solo recordings. It features guest appearances from Einar Solberg (LEPROUS), Matt Heafy (TRIVIUM), Jorgen Munkeby (SHINING), Tobias Ornes Andersen (SHINING, ex-LEPROUS), and renowned Norwegian author Hans Herbjornsrud. Graphic elements for "Arktis" once again have been provided by award-winning Spanish designer Ritxi Ostariz.

SUICIDAL TENDENCIES Feat. Ex-SLAYER Drummer DAVE LOMBARDO: Video Of New York City Concert

SUICIDAL TENDENCIES Feat. Ex-SLAYER Drummer DAVE LOMBARDO: Video Of New York City Concert

Former SLAYER drummer Dave Lombardo is sitting behind the kit for SUICIDAL TENDENCIES during the band's North American tour as the support act for MEGADETH.

Fan-filmed video footage of SUICIDAL TENDENCIES' March 16 performance at Terminal 5 in New York City can be seen below.

SUICIDAL TENDENCIES frontman Mike Muir told The Bulletin about Lombardo's addition to the band: "Dave's a legend, you know. It's a little bit different than other things — people call him the godfather of the double-kick and bass and stuff. He just has an amazing intensity, but besides intensity, he just has a musical mindset that — he totally understands what we're doing and where we came from when we started, different, but at the same time and stuff. We've always kind of done shows together, this and that, been kind of close. He knows where he's coming from is the right place."

Lombardo made his live debut with SUICIDAL TENDENCIES on February 26 at Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Muir recently hinted at not one, but two follow-ups to the group's 2013 album "13" — an EP and a full-length — inspired by the current political climate and upcoming election. He did not reveal any information about these new releases, but implied that these may be the band's final recordings. However, he pointed out: "I thought the first one would probably be the last we would do, too."

"13" sold around 3,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 187 on The Billboard 200 chart. The first studio album in 13 years from SUICIDAL TENDENCIES was produced by vocalist Mike Muir and Grammy-nominated engineer/mixer Paul Northfield (DREAM THEATER, HOLE, RUSH).

Video: Reunited Original Lineup Of EXCITER Performs In Montreal

Video: Reunited Original Lineup Of EXCITER Performs In Montreal

Video footage of the reunited original lineup of Canadian thrash metal pioneers EXCITER — guitarist John Ricci, drummer/vocalist Dan Beehler and bassist Allan Johnson — performing on March 18 at Foufounes Électriques in Montreal, Quebec, Canada can be seen below.

Speaking to the "Talking Metal" podcast in 2014, Ricci stated about how he mended fences with the other original members of EXCITER: "Well, we haven't even spoken about [the issues that caused to have a falling out back in the day]. [Laughs] When we had our [initial] meetings, those topics never even came up. We basically said, 'What happened in the past happened. It's water under the bridge.' But [before we had our initial meeting to discuss the reunion], I very rarely spoke to Allan. I mean, we had no reason to speak to each other for anything, really. But things happened through word of mouth and the media, and 'He said this' and 'He said that.' You don't know what to believe. I mean, are they actually saying things, or is it just fabricated? So at the time, that's the way I felt."

He continued: "I had no idea in 2014 we'd get back together. I'm completely surprised myself. But I think Dan and Allan — and I can't speak for them — they might have a certain level of frustration as well that they really wanted to get back with me and continue the music that we made. 'Cause the three of us have incredible chemistry when we play our instruments. A lot of great bands — I'm not saying we're a great, fantastic band — but a lot of classic rock and metal bands, they have incredible chemistry when you put certain individuals together. So I think Dan and Allan, over the years, realized that, and they probably thought, 'Let's get back together with John and just keep going, having fun and playing our music.'"

Asked if there is still a friendship between the original members of EXCITER or if they are working together purely as business partners, Ricci said: "Our first meeting, when we sat down, we did not discuss business, we just reminisced and talked about the old days and all the fun times that we had. 'Cause, I mean, we toured quite a bit. In 1985, we did a MOTÖRHEAD tour across the U.S., coast to coast, we also did a MEGADETH tour, coast to coast, we played shows with MERCYFUL FATE, we did a couple of shows in upstate New York with ANTHRAX when we were signed with Megaforce. We had a really good time and everything. So our first meeting was just four hours of… You know, we were sitting at a bar, just drinking beer and talking about the old times. So yeah, we're still friends."

He continued: "Our level of dedication to EXCITER, no one has ever questioned it. Yes, we have a difference of opinion on certain business issues, but when it comes to music, we're exactly on the same wavelength — like, our headspace is exactly the same, musically speaking. And it makes it so much easier when you're writing songs, that everyone recognizes everyone else's vision; you don't have to shove down their throat. But, I mean, on the other hand, for the past 20 years I've been continuing EXCITER, in most cases I handle all the band's business dealings. So the same thing will stay — I will be handling a lot of the business stuff. But because we're the original three guys, everyone's opinion counts when it's time to make decisions; I'm not just gonna be railroading those decisions — I'll ask Dan and I'll ask Al their opinion — and we'll move forward with whatever opinion we take."

The original EXCITER lineup recorded three classic albums in the 1980s — "Heavy Metal Maniac" (1983), "Violence & Force" (1984) and "Long Live the Loud" (1985) — before Ricci left he group and was replaced by Brian McPhee.

EXCITER's latest album, "Death Machine", which featured Ricci as the sole remaining original member, was released on October 29, 2010 via Massacre Records.

SLAYER

SLAYER's KERRY KING: 'I'm Still Putting Out Product That Looks And Sounds Great'

In a brand new interview with Las Vegas Magazine, SLAYER guitarist Kerry King was asked if the band could have survived something like the death of co-founding guitarist Jeff Hanneman ten or twenty years ago. "It's hard to say," he responded. "This situation that we're in right now, everything just fell into place. In the face of tragedy, we just moved forward and it happened to work. I'm sure there are scenarios that could have come up where it didn't work. We powered through it, and we're a strong band now because of it. Playing live … it's tight, it sounds good. That's my biggest concern — we're super tight. Like I said earlier, to have my booking agent say it's one of the best shows he's ever seen, that says I'm doing something right.

King also talked about continuing to record and play SLAYER music live after passing the half-century mark. He said: "The funny thing for me, I think a 50-year-old when I was 20 is far different than a 50-year-old today. And it's not just because I'm 50. I think the times are very different. I can reflect on my parents because I was close to that. The lifestyle was so much more sedentary. There was watching TV and going to work; that was about it. I'm 50 now and I'm a far shot from the way my dad was when he was 50. Not only the perception is different, but I think lifestyle in general changes, and I think a 50-year-old is far more fit than they were 30 years ago. If you asked me when I was 20 if I'd still be playing when I was 50, I'd say absolutely not, but now here I am doing it at 51 and I feel great so far. I'm still putting out a product that looks and sounds great. Will I be playing when I'm 60? I don't know. Can't guarantee you. [Laughs] I don't know."

Gary Holt, who is still a member of San Francisco Bay Area thrash icons EXODUS, has been the touring guitarist for SLAYER since January 2011 when Hanneman contracted necrotizing fasciitis, also known as flesh-eating disease, from a spider bite in his backyard. The infection ravaged the flesh and tissues of Hanneman's arm, leading to numerous surgeries, skin grafts and intense periods of rehab that forced him into semi-retirement and left him near death at several points.

Holt did not contribute to the songwriting process on SLAYER's latest album, "Repentless", although he did lay down guitar solos on most of the album's twelve tracks.

Hanneman eventually died in May 2013 from alcohol-related cirrhosis of the liver. He is credited for writing many of SLAYER's classic songs, including "Angel Of Death" and "South Of Heaven".

Watch Official Video For ROB ZOMBIE

Watch Official Video For ROB ZOMBIE's 'Well, Everybody's F**king In A U.F.O.'

Rob Zombie's new album, "The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser", will be released on April 29 via UMe/T-Boy Records. The CD was produced by Chris "Zeuss" Harris and features Zombie alongside guitarist John 5, bassist Piggy D and drummer Ginger Fish.

The official Danielle Lovett-produced video for the album's first single, "Well, Everybody's Fucking In A U.F.O.", can be seen below.

Says Rob Zombie: "This album is the best thing we've done to date, and we can't wait to share it with you. No, we mean it. It's the most fucked up thing we've ever done.

"We spent so much time putting this monster together and it's been worth it because this thing is about to explode!

"The album is out on April 29th, but there is a lot of shit going on in the lead-up to the release, so check out the pre-sale, get involved in the discussions and check back here for updates regularly! This bitch is moving forward FAST, and it's a train you don't want to fucking miss.

"Oh, and if you don't believe how fucked up this album is, take a look at the track listing below. Shit gets weird."

"The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser" track listing:

01. The Last Of The Demons Defeated02. Satanic Cyanide! The Killer Rocks On!03. The Life And Times Of A Teenage Rock God04. Well, Everybody's Fucking In A U.F.O.05. A Hearse Overturns With The Coffin Bursting Open06. The Hideous Exhibitions Of A Dedicated Gore Whore07. Medication For The Melancholy08. In The Age Of The Consecrated Vampire We All Get High09. Super-Doom-Hex-Gloom Part One10. In The Bone Pile11. Get Your Boots On! That's The End Of Rock And Roll12. Wurdalak

Rob Zombie spoke to Louder Noise about why he has held back the release of his new album even though the record was completed months ago. Zombie said: "It'll probably come out in [the spring], because what I wanna do is I wanna do a very large visual component to go with the record — shoot thirteen videos, or shoot a movie go with it. And because of [Zombie's upcoming sixth live-action feature film, a horror thriller called] '31', I couldn't get to that yet. So I'm gonna do that probably in January, so we'll put it out soon after that."

He continued: "I love it. I mean, I really like the record. The last record was my favorite record in a long time. 'Cause I had kind of hit a low with making records. It just kind of got boring; I hated being in the studio, and I kind of got reinspired on the last record. And this sort of follows up on it. So I think that, much like '31'… You just have those things in your career where you're, like, they all can't be the best one. With records, sometimes you have those moments where you can tell, 'This one's special.' And that's how it feels."

Zombie told Loudwire that the follow-up to 2013's "Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor" was recorded over the course of a year, with the band working for a few weeks, taking a break for a few months, then coming back. He said, "We were living with it for a long time, and it really — I think it made the record so much better."

Although Rob spends a lot of time making movies, he told The Pulse Of Radio a while back he's not ready to quit music yet. He said: "People go, 'How long can you do this, how long do you want to do this?' I want to do it as long as it's fun, because that's what it's supposed to be. I mean, I don't need the money, so I don't have to drag my ass out on tour just to make money. I'm all good there, so if it's not fun, it's nothing, it's just stupid, you know. And when you're not having fun, you're not gonna do good work. You're gonna seem like a miserable guy who's just doing it for the money, and I just never wanted to do that."

PIERCE THE VEIL To Release

PIERCE THE VEIL To Release 'Misadventures' Album In May

PIERCE THE VEIL, one of the fastest-rising, most electrifying artists on the music scene today, will release its hotly anticipated new album, "Misadventures", on May 13 via Fearless Records. "Misadventures" is the follow up to the band's 2012 breakthrough release, "Collide With The Sky", that debuted at No. 12 on The Billboard 200 albums chart, held the No. 1 spot on the Rock, Hard Rock, and Modern Rock/Alternative Albums charts, has sold nearly 350,000 copies, and earned the band a gold single for the track "King For A Day".

The first single from "Misadventures" will be "Texas Is Forever", a punk-flavored song that goes back to the band's roots, and, according to the band, is a song that begs to be played live. It also happens to be the fastest song they've ever written. "Texas Is Forever" will be released on March 24.

For "Misadventures", the band — Vic Fuentes (vocals, guitar), Tony Perry (guitar), Jaime Preciado (bass) and Mike Fuentes (drums) — worked again with Dan Korneff who co-produced "Collide" and recorded at his Long Island studio Sonic Debris on and off between summer 2014 and summer 2015. "It was exciting to do another record with Dan," said Vic. "We had gotten to know him really well on 'Collide', so there wasn't that initial period where you're trying to get to know each other. We just dove in and started to make music right away."

Initial plans were for "Misadventures" to be released earlier, but touring commitments and the band's conscious decision to take their time to make the album the very best it could be, both musically and lyrically, set a different course. Explained Vic, "We went into this record wanting to top the last one, which we try to do with every record, and we kept setting the bar higher and higher."

Vic's search for inspiration took him to a number of places to write the lyrics — New York, San Diego, Los Angeles, the Southern California mountain resort of Big Bear, Santa Barbara and Seattle. "I wanted every song to have real meaning, and thought that in spending time in different places, I'd find new inspirations — that's exactly what happened," he said.

The eleven songs on "Misadventures" find the band dealing with a variety of topics including self-worth and an individual's ability to shine, the dream of leaving everything behind while you run away with the one you truly love, the challenge of outrunning betrayal, an undefined relationship, and the horror of the 2015 Paris attacks told from a hypothesized point of view.

The track listing for "Misadventures" is as follows:

01. Dive In02. Texas Is Forever03. The Divine Zero04. Floral & Fading05. Phantom Power And Ludicrous Speed06. Circles07. Today I Saw The Whole World08. Gold Medal Ribbon09. Bedless10. Sambuka11. Song For Isabelle

SLAYER

SLAYER's TOM ARAYA Says JEFF HANNEMAN Would Have Been Proud Of 'Repentless' Album

In a brand new interview with Loudwire, SLAYER frontman Tom Araya was asked if he thinks the band's late guitarist, Jeff Hanneman, would have been proud of SLAYER's new album, "Repentless". He responded (see video below): "Yeah, I think he would have. When we first started [putting ideas together for 'Repentless']… They were demoing [music for the album] a while ago. And Jeff was around, and I kept telling him, 'Dude, you need to listen to some of the stuff. Help out here.' And he'd show up to rehearsals and he'd listen and he'd leave. But I kept telling him, 'You've gotta put your hands in this, because you can make things sound really good.' So when we went into the studio after he passed, I was a little apprehensive, because SLAYER is a combination of the two of them [Hanneman and guitarist Kerry King] putting music ideas together, and so it was, really, to me… I felt it would be really lopsided, because SLAYER has two sounds: really aggressive and fast, but also aggressive and slow. So we started recording the songs and working on the ideas, and the more and more I worked on the vocal aspects of the songs, they started coming together. I was, like, 'Okay, this sounds good. This is okay. This is good.' And then when we were coming towards the end, and I would listen to everything, I thought, 'Okay, this is SLAYER. This, to me, is SLAYER. This is gonna be good.' So I figured once I could hear that, I knew that everybody would be okay with it. 'Cause I'm a fan, and, you know, I wasn't sure how things would turn out with Jeff not being present. But it sounded really, really good. It came out the way I'd hoped it would."

Hanneman eventually died in May 2013 from alcohol-related cirrhosis of the liver. He is credited for writing many of SLAYER's classic songs, including "Angel Of Death" and "South Of Heaven".

Hanneman's last appearance with SLAYER was in April 2011, when he played an encore with the band at the "Big Four" concert in Indio, California.

METAL CHURCH: Official Lyric Video For

METAL CHURCH: Official Lyric Video For 'Reset' Song

The official lyric video for "Reset", a brand new song from hard rock titans METAL CHURCH, can be seen below. The track is taken from the band's new album, "XI", which will be released on March 25 via Rat Pak Records. Produced by Kurdt Vanderhoof and co-produced by Chris "The Wizard" Collier, the band's eleventh studio release also marks the return of legendary vocalist and frontman Mike Howe.

The reunion between Mike and METAL CHURCH was put in motion in July of 2014 when Mike started working with Kurdt Vanderhoof on a side project he was forming with Nigel Glockler from SAXON. Through these initial conversations, Kurdt convinced Mike to ultimately return to METAL CHURCH. The idea was to see if they could recapture some of the magic from the three albums METAL CHURCH released in the late '80s: "The Human Factor", "Blessing In Disguise" and "Hanging In The Balance". Out of those sessions, "XI" was born and captures the sound that made the band fan-favorites in the '80's and mixes it with a new, invigorated sound for 2016. Said Mike: "Kurdt Vanderhoof got ahold of me in August of 2014, and he proposed [me] coming back to the band. He said Ronny [Munroe] left the band and he didn't really wanna carry on with METAL CHURCH unless maybe I would consider coming back. So I said, 'Well, I don't know. I'm open to it. But let's see what kind of music we can come up with.' So Kurdt went back to the studio and started writing songs in the vein of 'Hanging In The Balance', where we left off twenty years ago, and he sent them to me over the Internet. And I was, like, 'Damn! The guy still has it and he's doing great work.' So he sent me another batch, and that batch was just as good [as], if not better than, the other. So, from there, I said, ‘Well, I can’t say no to this. And let's just see how it goes.' And we started writing lyrics and getting together, and it's now morphed into this, being back in Aberdeen in the studio making the new METAL CHURCH record." "XI" track listing: 01. Reset02. Killing Your Time03. No Tomorrow04. Signal Path05. Sky Falls In06. Needle & Suture07. Shadow08. Blow Your Mind09. Soul Eating Machine10. It Waits11. Suffer Fools METAL CHURCH 2016 is:

Mike Howe (vocals)Kurdt Vanderhoof (guitar)Jeff Plate (drums)Steve Unger (bass)Rick VanZandt (guitar)

TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA and SAVATAGE guitarist Chris Caffery will fill in for METAL CHURCH's Rick Van Zandt on the latter band's upcoming U.S. tour, which commences March 24 in Portland, Maine. Rick had to go in for emergency eye surgery to repair a detached retina and will be unable to join the group on the road for several weeks.

Back in November 2014, the helicopter descended upon the infamous Hard Rock Hotel as KISS invaded Las Vegas for an historic nine-show run. Now, for one night only on May 25, fans will be able to experience this spectacular night for themselves as "Kiss Rocks Vegas" hits cinemas across the globe. From this blistering live show, fans can expect sky high flames, ear-bursting volume and a few drops of blood! Includes exclusive interviews with band and footage you will only see in the cinema.

Famed for their iconic face paint and stage attire, KISS was formed in New York City in 1973 by Paul Stanley (vocals, rhythm guitar) and Gene Simmons (vocals, bass guitar). Their sensational live performances feature fire breathing, blood-spitting, smoking guitars, shooting rockets, levitating drum kits, and pyrotechnics to spare. Tommy Thayer (lead guitar, vocals) and Eric Singer (drums, percussion, vocals) round out the band's powerful lineup. Tommy is also producer of the film "Kiss Rocks Vegas".

Said Stanley: "See us on the big screen with the awesome power of Surround Sound. Feel like you are in Vegas and don't be shy to 'shout it out loud!'"

Added Simmons: "Jin us for a 'crazy crazy night' in your cinema!”

Stated Thayer: "We are all tremendously proud of this production; it captures a truly unique performance. You need to see it in a cinema to get the full on experience."

Said Singer: "We rocked The Joint at Hard Rock in Las Vegas. You get up close and personal with KISS. You're going to love it."

A select number of cinemas worldwide will also be screening the concert in Dolby Atmos, providing a powerfully immersive and moving audio experience for the cinema audience.

Speaking to Las Vegas Weekly, Stanley stated about how the idea for the KISS residency came about: "To spend as much time as we do in Vegas and to live as close as we do, the idea of doing a residency and leaving our stage setup, as opposed to breaking it down nightly, was really appealing."

He continued: "We just finished 42 cities and played for 600,000 people, but that meant that every night the show got disassembled and moved. There’s something appealing and challenging about building a set that doesn’t have to be moved. You don't have to take into account the practicality of it, being able to be broken down constantly and reassembled. So this was something that we had wanted to do for quite a while; it was just a matter of making sure we found people who were in agreement on how to do it. The Joint was the natural place to do it."

Video: Opera Singer Covers AC/DC On 'Spain's Got Talent'

A classic opera singer surprised the judges of "Spain's Got Talent" when she switched from singing in opera mode to full-on rock 'n' roll.

The contestant, named Cristina Ramos, auditioned on the show earlier this week and started with an angelic, graceful performance of what appeared to be an opera ballad while wearing an all-black dress before the music was interrupted by a loud guitar. She then ripped off her skirt and belted out AC/DC's "Highway To Hell".

The 37-year-old singer's sudden genre switch took everyone by complete surprise, including the judges, who rang the gold buzzer, meaning that Ramos can skip the next round of auditions and go straight to the live shows.

A video clip of her performance — which has since gone viral — can be seen below.

IRON MAIDEN's world tour, in support of the band's latest album, "The Book Of Souls", kicked off on February 24 in Sunrise, Florida (a suburb of Fort Lauderdale).

Support on the trek is coming from THE RAVEN AGE, the band led by IRON MAIDEN bassist Steve Harris's son George Harris.

MAIDEN's sixteenth — and first-ever double — studio album, "The Book Of Souls", was released worldwide on September 4, 2015 through Parlophone Records (BMG in the U.S.A). The CD was recorded in Paris, France with producer Kevin "Caveman" Shirley in late 2014, with the finishing touches added last year.

IRON MAIDEN announced in May 2015 that touring plans to support the album wouldn't happen until this year to allow Dickinson time to fully recuperate after his successful cancer treatment.

"What's special about this tour is that a year ago I didn't even know if I could sing," Dickinson told reporters last month. "We've had an amazing turnaround in fortune after, obviously being ill a year ago, getting rid of that, and getting out and looking forward to doing the tour."

Regarding the fan reception to the new CD and the current tour, Dickinson said: "The album was a massive success, and we were about that far [finger and thumb barely separated] off from getting the No. 1 slot [in its debut week on The Billboard 200 chart]. So now, we get to bring it out to the people, and, I mean, there's a few tickets left but not many. Pretty much the whole of the U.S. is sold out. It's amazing."
