IMPRECATION have released their first full-length, Satanae Tenebris Infinita, out now on Dark Descent Records.

Satanae Tenebris Infinita is being released on CD and vinyl formats to stores and distros worldwide and can be purchased directly through the label at DarkDescentRecords.com with digital downloads available on Bandcamp.

Hailing from Texas, Imprecation have been firmly entrenched in death metal's underground since their inception in 1991. The early '90s saw the band release a couple of acclaimed demos and an EP (Drowned Records) followed by a compilation of material in 1995 titled Theurgia Goetia Summa on Repulse Records (later reissued several times). Not long after this essential death metal compilation, the band went on hiatus until its resurrection in 2009. Cited as highly influential by many death metal bands today, Imprecation's debut full-length, Satanae Tenebris Infinita is Imprecation in top form. Satanae Tenebris Infinita is definitely not a departure from Imprecation's earlier style but a continuation of the destiny that was interrupted due to the band's break back in 1998. The album is 40 minutes of pure, unadulterated death metal the way it was meant to be played complete with cover art from long-time ally, Mr. Chris Moyen (ABOMINANT, INCANTATION).

BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi has hired Rachael at Heavy Leather NYC to make his new guitar straps, which were designed by Shirts & Destroy. He say: "The guitars I use are pretty heavy and it makes a huge difference when you're playing a long show to have a comfortable strap. That they also look great is a real bonus!"

Iommi recently donated his used guitar strings to Wear Your Music, an organization that turns used guitar strings into jewelry. All profits made from the sale of Tony's guitar strings will go to the Nordoff-Robbins charity.

Iommi is frequently referred to as the inventor of heavy metal with his trademark riffs. Having sliced off the ends of three fingers in a factory accident when first starting out, Tony switched to very light gauge strings. These make his bracelets especially unique.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD will release its sixth studio album, "Hail To The King", on August 27. The title and the cover artwork (see below) were uncovered via an online scavenger hunt that led fans to different web sites that were hosting puzzle pieces.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD will celebrate the album release by playing a free show at the Hollywood Palladium on August 26.

The new disc was once again produced by Mike Elizondo and will follow up 2010's "Nightmare", which earned the band its first No. 1 album on The Billboard 200 chart.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD frontman M. Shadows last year hinted at the direction of the band's next studio LP, telling Metal Hammer that it will not sound like "Carry On", the group's contribution to the video game "Call Of Duty: Black Ops II". Shadows explained, "The new album has a lot more of a [BLACK] SABBATH / [LED] ZEPPELIN feel to it than 'Carry On'. There's definitely more SABBATH in what we're writing, and we're proud of 'Carry On', but this album is going to be on a whole new level."

The new CD is the first to be wholly written without drummer and key songwriter James "The Rev" Sullivan, who died in December 2009. Shadows told The Pulse Of Radio that didn't stop the band from deciding to take a different direction. "We had a decision to make on this one," he said. "The decision was, okay, do we just make a record that everyone expects us to make, or do we just move forward and make another, different record that we feel more comfortable with, and we chose the latter. So right now we're looking forward to doing something new and exciting and fresh, and hopefully people give it a shot and like it."

U.K. deathcore/hardcore outfit SHOT DOWN STAY DOWN has inked a deal with Standby Records. The label will release the band's debut LP, "Dodge This", digitally on July 23.

Based out of York, in North Yorkshire, England, the five-piece, with their raw sound and highly aggressive live performance, have shared stages with the likes of MISS MAY I, BETRAYAL, THICK AS BLOOD and many others.

Formed in early April 2011, SHOT DOWN STAY DOWN quickly established their place in the local music scene. After the untimely end of rising York band KILL THE CAPTAIN (during which former members Danny Worsnop and Sam Bettley left to pursue careers in ASKING ALEXANDRIA), vocalist Ashley Oldroyd and guitarist Abram Welburn joined up with Oliver Altham (guitar), Cameron Bland (bass) and Andrew McMullon (drums) to form SHOT DOWN STAY DOWN.

Drawing on past experiences and driven by their thirst to perform, SHOT DOWN STAY DOWN set about writing their six-track EP "Tyrants" (a free digital release). Recorded at Innersound Studios with good friends Joe and Sam Graves from York band WITH ONE LAST BREATH, they were able to create a sound that truly reflects their passion.

The following two years saw them perform extensively around the United Kingdom. The relentless effect of hard work and determination is paying off and an insatiable enthusiasm that encourages people to get involved has only propelled the band forward. The positive responses from a tour in August 2012 and a packed show in Sheffield with MISS MAY I have given SHOT DOWN STAY DOWN the momentum to expand and gain many friends along the way.

SHOT DOWN STAY DOWN returned to work with Sam and Joe Graves in late 2012 to produce the first full-length release: "Dodge This", a sarcastic, groove-ridden experience with enough bounce to send King Kong into space.

Norwegian black metallers SATYRICON will release their new, self-titled studio album on September 8 in Europe via Roadrunner Records. The CD was produced by SATYRICON frontman Sigurd "Satyr" Wongraven and was recorded in Norway, and mixed by Adam Kasper. The effort will feature a guest appearance by Sivert Høyem, the Norwegian singer best known as the vocalist of the rock band MADRUGADA.

Comments Satyr: "We are back! Sorry it took so long, but we needed the time to be able pull off a record like this.

"Comparing this one to previous records is time wasted, it is SATYRICON; constantly on the move.

Speaking to AOL's Noisecreep at this year's Inferno festival, Satyr stated about SATYRICON's upcoming album: "To me, it sounds very authentic, it's organic-sounding. And in this digital age where music is mostly played through computers, a lot of that analog vibe gets lost in translation when you play music through medias like that, but I still wanna do it because there's nothing quite like it. To me, it just makes everything sound the way it's supposed to sound — it's dynamical; the music is alive, it's not overly compressed, the levels are not pushed. So, musically speaking, it's a very atmospheric record… This record is full of life. There are a lot of surprises here, but I think it's gonna be a record that's gonna help the black metal movement perhaps find a new way for the future."

SATYRICON has always pushed boundaries and never conformed to what was "expected". That mindset continues to this day, as they awill take part in a very special, exclusive show on September 8 at Oslo's Norwegian National Opera House, where they will perform together with Norway's 55-strong National Opera Chorus.

The special event is part of the Ultima Oslo Contemporary Music Festival, and fans of both SATYRICON and the National Opera Chorus can look forward to a very unique and exciting evening, which coincides with the worldwide release of SATYRICON's new CDtitled.

THE MEZMERIST is one of the most mysterious US metal releases of all time. Nobody even knows who The Mezmerist is, and to even find an original LP was a chore because the band held on to a lot of the pressing. Originally there was only 500 copies made back in 1985, today those copies have gone for extremely high prices on eBay.
With this re-issue, scheduled for September 3rd via Shadow Kingdom Records, this is basically the first time anyone who knew about this lost gem made contact with the band. The label got lucky finding the mastermind behind the group, Thomas Mezmercardo. Since contacting him, they ended up taking an additional five years to put this release out properly and with all of the parties and work involved. Speaking of all parties involved, one of the most interesting things about this release is that Bill Ward of BLACK SABBATH did in fact play drums on this release. He played on the first four tracks on the first EP.

The circumstances surrounding the events back then are somewhat of a mystery, even to this day. Thomas sits down and tells the story of how all of this came together on the DVD portion of the release. This is not just any old over-hyped cult release. This is the definition of the perfect lost gem in '80s heavy metal history. It’s too hard to exactly pinpoint what this sounds like, but if you have to label it, call it psychedelic heavy metal. Close to LED ZEPPELIN, CIRITH UNGOL, and MERCYFUL FATE, the release is a double EP – released as a full-length album.

British heavy metal legends IRON MAIDEN have launched an online store dedicated to their new ale, Trooper beer.

The Trooper beer was officially launched on May 9 at Robinsons Brewery in Cheshire, with a reception attended by brewing trade representatives from both the U.K. and internationally.

As fans may have read recently, the unprecedented upfront demand for the beer meant Robinsons had to brew three times a day, six days a week for the first time ever in the brewery's 175-year history to cope with pre-orders in excess of 300,000 pints. Robinsons were overwhelmed by the number of enquiries they'd had from all over the world and sent the band a comprehensive listing of whereabouts the interest had been — from a staggering 184 countries.

IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson and manager Rod Smallwood attended the trade launch, which began with Bruce conducting a tour of the brewery to explain to everyone first-hand the process of exactly how Trooper beer is made. Robinsons managing director Oliver Robinson then gave a short speech about how the IRON MAIDEN/Robinsons collaboration came about and he presented Bruce with a specially engraved brewery hand pump, in recognition of Trooper being the fastest-ever-selling new Robinsons beer. Bruce then pulled the first-ever pint of Trooper from the cask in the brewery bar amid loud applause from the assembled crowd. Everyone then got down to the serious business of tasting the beer for themselves and it was very well received judging by the number of smiling faces and approving comments heard around the room. In fact, Robinsons' own head brewer, Martyn Weeks, pronounced it his favorite beer, and renowned beer writer Pete Brown remarked how he found Trooper to be very good indeed and extremely drinkable.

Trooper is now available to order online throughout most of Europe, and Robinsons are working to ensure it will be available to the rest of the world as soon as possible.

ASHES OF CHAOS have inked a deal with logic(il)logic Records for their debut cd Eye, a concept album, is scheduled for release this summer.

Ashes Of Chaos was born as a metal cover band in late 2008. Influenced by the common love for progressive metal, the band's members start writing original songs. As they grew up both as musicians and as a band, they completed their debut album, the concept Eye.

JOE LYNN TURNER has announced that he will be part of the SCHUBERT IN ROCK Project - a fusion of great rock musicians recording an album with Klaus Schubert from Austria.
"The recordings went really well and Joe is also looking forward to bringing it all on the stage, live at a show in Innsbruck Austria on December 6th, 2013."

My Kingdom Music recently announced the signing of Italian power/prog metallers DRAGONHAMMER. The band's new album, The X Experiment, will be released on October 21st, nine years after the last band's release.

'Release Through Torture':
Forming their brutality in early 2003, Whorecore has evolved over the years as one of Israel’s most respected death grinders and must see live metal acts. Releasing their debut CD entitled Protection in 2006, which was recorded independently and then mixed by the all-mighty Scott Hull at Visceral Sound studios. Whorecore hit the road for their first European tour in April 2006 to share the stage with their childhood death metal hero's Macabre in Germany, Denmark, Belgium and France along with supporting JUNGLE ROT.

Before parting ways with first vocalist and founding member, Ariel Ron, the band was featured in Sam Dunn and Scot McFadyen’s 2007 music documentary Global Metal, which added to their international recognition. With a need to fill the vocalist vacancy, the band recruited long time friend, Sven De Caluwe of ABORTED to join in and on the same spirit of new energies and new found power. They realized Whorecore was dead and it was time for THEY:SWARM to be founded.

With a new name and new EP entitled The Mundane Corruption recorded at the Israeli ZAZA studios and Mastuldio Studios, again by the band and close friends with mixing done by Jacob Bredahl at Dead Rat Studios in Denmark. The band was able to share the stage with most of Israel's heavy acts and numerous foreign bands such as HATEBREED, ABORTED, IMPALED NAZARENE, PUNGENT STENCH, ENTOMBED, KONKHRA, MACABRE, JUNGLE ROT, LENG TCHE, EMETH, ANCIENT along with many more.

In 2009, there were more line-up changes to hit the band with the departure of founding member, lead guitarist, Eran Segal and vocalist Sven De Caluwe leaving to focus on his main band Aborted. With this lineup change, the remaining members decided to go back to being Whorecore and put an end to the They:Swarm period, where they released the single ‘Whore Baby’ recorded and mixed again by the band and long time friend Liron Schaffer of ZAZA studios and was supported by was seen as a controversial music video for its certain depictions of ‘some whores and one fat baby’ as the band describes it.

Cyclone Empire has announced the official re-releases (on CD and LP) of the first three albums by death metal legends CANCER.
The releases are fully authorized and supported by the band and will come with loads of bonus material and liner notes. Moreover all three albums will be re-mastered and get a revised cover artwork.

"Long overdue releases, good to see'em back out there. Featuring John Tardy, Glenn Benton and James Murphy and a lot of gore flick influence in the capable hands of Scott Burns and Simon Efemey. Swedish thrash/death metallers IMPLODE will release a 4-track EP, Under A New Sun, on July 12th. The follow-up the band's 2010 full length album, The Hour Has Come, was produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by Implode and will be released with their management Cramada Artist Agency Scandinavia.

According to The Pulse Of Radio, DEFTONES singer Chino Moreno believes that the band should and will release "Eros", the album it recorded before late bassist Chi Cheng was left in a semi-comatose state by a car accident in November 2008. Although Moreno was not sure if the disc would ever surface, his feelings have changed since Cheng's death this past April. Moreno told MTV Hive, "I get asked about that record a lot. For a while, I was giving the same answer, 'No, no, no, no, no, no, no.' After Chi's passing, I went back and listened to some of the record and it was a pretty intense experience to say the least."

Moreno added, "I think it should be released, but we don't have any definite plans. There's some work to do on it. DEFTONES have been moving forward in a strong, positive motion, so for us to stop and reflect on something five years ago, I don't know if we're ready for that."

But he also said, "It is a special thing for us: it's the last thing Chi played on. It will see the light of day. I just don't know when."

Moreno's new side project, PALMS, released its self-titled debut disc on Tuesday (June 25).

Cheng performed on DEFTONES' first five albums, with his last released work being on 2006's "Saturday Night Wrist".

Bassist Sergio Vega played on "Diamond Eyes" and the most recent DEFTONES disc, "Koi No Yokan".

According to The Pulse Of Radio, NINE INCH NAILS mastermind Trent Reznor took to the airwaves of Los Angeles radio station KROQ on Monday (June 24) to discuss the upcoming NIN album, "Hesitation Marks", the group's return and the recent departures of guitarist Adrian Belew and bassist Eric Avery from the lineup after just a few months. Reznor said about the latter, "It's been disruptive . . . you can spend a lot of time, like I've done, hypothesizing and imagining and projecting as to what it's going to be like with this chemistry and this recipe of people in a room playing music. And in reality, it rarely is that."

He added, "In the case of a couple people in the band, some switches were made and it's turned into something different . . . It's felt a wrench in the works at time, but at the same time it's made me rethink a lot of how we put this together and I think where we're ending up at a place that's much truer to where NINE INCH NAILS should be and better in the long run."

Asked why he kept the recording of "Hesitation Marks" a secret for a year, Reznor responded, "I still owe Interscope a greatest-hits record. There was talk about doing a couple new tracks for the compilation under the NIN header . . . I started tinkering with a couple songs for NINE INCH NAILS. I felt inspired by what's happening. A couple songs led to a couple more songs and pretty soon it was a full-fledged, 'let's make an album.'"

Reznor described "Hesitation Marks" as "much more electronic," although he added that the first single, "Came Back Haunted", is "familiar, it's very self-referential and purposely. I think that's the most like that there is on that record."

A video for "Came Back Haunted", directed by filmmaker David Lynch, could surface by the end of this week.

"Hesitation Marks", the first NIN album since 2008's "The Slip", will arrive on September 3. The album features guest appearances from FLEETWOOD MAC guitarist Lindsey Buckingham and THE WHO touring bassist Pino Palladino.

NINE INCH NAILS has confirmed a lengthy North American tour for the fall, beginning on September 28 in St. Paul, Minnesota. The band will make its live return on July 26 at the Fuji Rock festival in Japan.

METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich said in a new interview with Rolling Stone that the band has compiled nearly 600 song ideas for its tenth studio album, most of them coming during jam sessions on tour and organized this past January and March in several rehearsal sessions. But that doesn't mean the group is rushing to whittle all that music down to 10 or 12 solid tunes and record them. Ulrich explained, "I understand there are people waiting for a new record, and so are we. But I can't stress about it. It's not like, 'Fuck, hurry up and get this record out.' Hurry up for what? So we can go play gigs? We already play gigs. We'll get there."

Frontman James Hetfield told The Pulse Of Radio that making the new record was a question of time and not lack of material. "We've come up with enough material for a record, for sure," he said. "We've gone through maybe one-tenth of the material that's on our riff CDs, but we've got enough for an album. We just haven't had the time to really focus on it and dial in and start whittling at these masterpieces, hopefully."

METALLICA is not likely to get down to serious recording until later this year or early 2014, with the new album probably not expected to arrive until 2015. The band's last studio effort was 2008's "Death Magnetic".

Earlier this month the band headlined the second edition of its Orion Music + More festival, which was held in Detroit on June 8-9. The group headlined the second day while also playing a surprise afternoon set on the first day at which it played its entire 1983 debut disc "Kill 'Em All".

The group has a scattering of festival slots lined up into September, just before its upcoming 3D movie, "Metallica Through the Never", premieres on IMAX screen in North America on September 27.

METALLICA filmed the movie last August, combining live performance footage from three shows in Vancouver with a storyline following a fictional member of their crew, played by actor Dane DeHaan, who's sent on a mission during a concert.
