Blaze Of Perdition have built an excellent reputation with their two previous albums, Towards The Blaze Of Perdition (2010) and The Hierophant (2011), which solidified the oufit's position as one the most interesting new acts in the field of black metal. NEXT TO NONE Release “Blood On My Hands” Lyric VideoNext To None recently signed to InsideOut for the release of their debut album, A Light In The Dark, on June 30th in North America and June 29th in Europe. A new lyric video for “Blood On My Hands” can be seen below.
Vocalist/keyboardist Thomas Cuce had this to say about "Blood On My Hands": "At the time [I wrote the lyrics] it seemed like every day there was a different person going crazy somewhere and shooting up a building or whatever, and I would ask my self 'Why does this keep happening? What was that person thinking? What led them to do this?' So I tried to put myself in this person's head. I created a character and started from the aftermath of the event, which is where we first hear about it in the news."
Of the song's extended arrangement, he says, "It took us months to write this song and then months to learn it. We had a big dry erase board that we used to chart out all the parts with the time signatures until we had them memorized."
The album track “You Are Not Me” is streaming below. Max Portnoy had this to say about the track: “”You Are Not Me” is one of our heavier songs that shows more of a modern metal side, it is also probably one of the first songs in prog metal history to feature a beer keg being hit with a bat!"
Max Portnoy and guitarist Ryland Holland talk with Metaholic Magazine and AXS.com about the and having drum legend Mike Portnoy produce the record.
Based in Pennsylvania, Next To None features Max Portnoy on drums, Ryland Holland on guitar, Kris Rank on bass, and Thomas Cuce on keyboards and lead vocals. The band have been honing their craft for several years, recording a self-released EP and playing various live gigs, including a slot at the Progressive Nation At Sea 2014 cruise.
Later that year, the band went into the studio to record their debut album. At the ripe young ages of 15 and 16, they emerged with an album they and producer Mike Portnoy (Transatlantic, Flying Colors, ex-Dream Theater) are extremely proud of. A Light In The Dark also features guest appearances by Bumblefoot (Guns N' Roses) and prog legend Neal Morse.
Drummer Max Portnoy says, "It's so exciting to be signing with InsideOut... the home of the greatest prog bands in the world! We are honored to be part of the family."
Says producer Mike Portnoy, "Producing the Next To None album was like a trip back in time for me. I couldn't help but be reminded of recording my very first album with Dream Theater back in 1988. These boys have talent and maturity way beyond their years. It's obvious in their playing abilities, but I was most impressed with their writing and creative abilities. Six of the songs spread across the album tie together to create a conceptual piece... for a group of 15 & 16-year-olds to be thinking in big master strokes like that is absolutely incredible. They are doing things musically and thematically as teenagers that I wasn't exploring until I was in my mid twenties and thirties!
I must point out that THEY wrote all of the music and performed all of their instruments on the album. I do not want people to think that my role as producer had anything to do with those areas... it is all THEM! My main role was to help them explore the studio for the first time and help them learn the ropes in that department. I couldn't be prouder of this album and think that Next To None represents the next generation of progressive metal."
A Light In The Dark tracklisting:
"The Edge Of Sanity"
"You Are Not Me"
"Runaway"
"A Lonely Walk"
"Control"
"Lost"
"Social Anxiety"
"Legacy"
"Blood On My Hands"
Digital-only bonus tracks:
"Fortune Cookie"
"Deafening"

Sweden’s MISS BEHAVIOUR Announce New Album, New ManagementSwedish melodic rockers, Miss Behaviour, are working on their fourth yet-untitled album, for a tentative late fall release. The band is now in the studio with producer/songwriter Patrik Magnusson, who previously worked with, Crashdiet, Mick Mars (Mötley Crüe) and Ace Wilder among others.
Miss Behaviour recently signed a management deal with Sun Hill Production (Soto, Jeff Scott Soto, Talisman) from Sweden.
The story of Miss Behaviour goes back to 2003 when keyboard player Henrik Sproge and guitarist Erik Heikne met. Both had a great passion for 80’s melodic hard rock and AoR, they decided to start the band to express their vision of how a modern rock band, inspired by the great bands of the eighties should sound.
After the release of the debut album Heart of Midwinter in 2006 they recruited a new lead singer Sebastian Roos, an established singer in Sweden. “Sebastian added a new dimension to the band, he’s extremely skilled and talented with great ambition and a will to leave a mark”, says Erik.
The breakthrough came with the album Last Woman Standing (2011). In spring 2011 Miss Behaviour competed in Swedish national radio with the song “Till We Meet Again”, making the première live performance with the current lineup in front of 400,000 radio listeners. Late 2011 the album Last Woman Standing won the Melodic.net Best AOR Album Of 2011 readers poll, and got fantastic reviews.
Miss Behaviour toured UK twice in 2011, and the latter finished off with a sold out show at O2 Academy Islington in London. Their third album Double Agent, was released in August 2014 via AOR Haven. Once again the reviews are great, and this also earned them a slot on Stockholm Rocks Festival in November 2014.
Miss Behaviour is:
Sebastian Roos – Vocals
Erik Heikne – Guitars
Henrik Sproge – Keyboards
Niclas Lindblom – Bass
Magnus Jacobson – Drums

DISTURBED: Official End-Of-Hiatus Announcement, New Music Coming TomorrowDISTURBED has launched a countdown clock online at the band's official web site that is scheduled to hit zero tomorrow (Tuesday, June 23) at 8:00 p.m. EDT (5:00 a.m. PDT). The band has dropped a couple of hints over the weekend that it is preparing to to end its four-year hiatus. First was the unveiling online of a new band logo, but far more telling was the arrival of two separate videos at the act's social media pages which seem to show the DISTURBED mascot, called "The Guy", seemingly emerging from a deep sleep.
Tomorrow's announcement is expected to include the unveiling of DISTURBED's first new music since 2010 as well as the initial details of the band's upcoming CD.
DISTURBED has been on hiatus since the fall of 2011, since completing the touring cycle for "Asylum" and issuing a rarities collection called "The Lost Children".
DISTURBED singer David Draiman launched a new band called DEVICE in 2013 and toured behind it for a few months, while scoring a No. 1 rock single with the song "Vilify".
Draiman has also been spending time with his wife, model/wrestler Lena Yada, and their son, Samuel, who was born in September 2013.
Guitarist Dan Donegan and drummer Mike Wengren premiered a new project called FIGHT OR FLIGHT.
Back on April 22, BLABBERMOUTH.NET exclusively reported the rumor that DISTURBED was recording its first album since 2010's "Asylum".
Although there has been no official confirmation on the matter, there are rumblings that the band has been working with producer Kevin Churko, who has helmed the latest efforts from a number of popular hard rock and heavy metal acts, including FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, IN THIS MOMENT, PAPA ROACH and HELLYEAH.
If the rumor mill is correct, at least some of the recording sessions took place at Churko's The Hideout Recording Studio in Las Vegas.

LINKIN PARK's MIKE SHINODA Releases New FORT MINOR Single And Video 'Welcome'It's been nearly ten years since artist and producer Mike Shinoda — founder of LINKIN PARK — released "The Rising Tied", the debut studio album from his solo project FORT MINOR. Inspired by his unforgettable experiences over the past decade and the artist within, Mike has just released a brand new FORT MINOR song and video titled "Welcome". Among the world's first 360-degree virtual reality (VR) music videos, Shinoda and his collaborators at The Uprising Creative in Los Angeles joined forces to fully leverage the power of VR. The result is a unique experience set in Venice Beach where everyone is invited.
"Welcome" will create a moment to bring together the underdogs, the outcasts, the shy, and the uninvited. To go against the overwhelming divisiveness in our world by inviting people in rather than pushing them away. Through a buoyant, tenacious, confident tone, "Welcome" speaks from the outsider to the outsider. It's a hip hop song with a punk, DIY ethos.
Shot in VR/360, the video captures the local community vibe of Venice Beach, where Mike painted a giant canvas mural with original design right on the infamous boardwalk. Director Jeff Nicholas and his colleagues at The Uprising Creative captured it all with a GoPro-based VR rig. The next day, the crew used a similar set up to photograph the finished 12x80 foot canvas in 360-degrees, with Shinoda playing drums, guitar and keyboards on the track. The mural was later broken apart into individual album sleeves signed by Mike, that will be used for the upcoming limited-edition release of the vinyl single.
Said Shinoda: "FORT MINOR is a solo project. It was born out of my earliest experience as a music and visual art fan. My influences were always outsider influences, songs sung by underdogs. I related to them because they were like me. And although LINKIN PARK was eventually embraced by millions, I eventually felt drawn back to the ‘outside' — to reconnect with my voice and aesthetic as an individual. It's modern DIY, fueled by technology, inspiration and ambition."
FORT MINOR will perform live at The Exchange in Los Angeles on June 29.

ALICE COOPER Says PAUL MCCARTNEY Is 'A Rocker'THE BEATLES legend Paul McCartney, actor Johnny Depp and AEROSMITH's Joe Perry make appearances on the forthcoming album from legendary rocker Alice Cooper featuring songs that were originally written and recorded by THE DOORS, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon and THE WHO — members of the so-called "Hollywood Vampires" of the early and mid-'70s. Perry has contributed to several tracks on the CD, while McCartney will be heard on a new version of "Come And Get It", the song he wrote and produced for BADFINGER.
Speaking to NME, Cooper said (see video below): "We decided to put a band together and kind of celebrate all of our dead, drunk friends. All of our big brothers died at 27 years old. You know, Jim Morrison… We toured with THE DOORS. And Jimi Hendrix was one of our best friends, and we drank with these guys."
He continued: "Johnny Depp and I were doing that movie 'Dark Shadows', and we decided one night we were gonna over to the 100 Club and just be a bar band — no glitz, no glam. Somebody yells out 'Brown Sugar', yeah, we'll play that. Just to kind of have fun with it. And, at that time, we had so much fun playing covers that we said, 'Why don't we do an album that celebrates all of our dead, drunk friends?' We started naming them: John Lennon, Keith Moon from THE WHO, Harry Nilsson, T. REX… And the list was so impressive that we could pick out songs and we ended up making the album. So it's not an Alice Cooper album; it's a HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES album."
Regarding McCartney's involvement with the new record, Cooper said: "Paul's a rocker, man. If he wasn't in his band, he would be in a pub somewhere playing with a bunch of guys. He just loves to play. And even though, you look back and go, 'Jesus, the guy is a Beatle.' He wasn't just a Beatle; he was the Beatle… and wrote more songs than anybody and never has gone back on what he believes, what he does. So when he walks in a room and sits down at the piano and says, 'Okay, you take the high part, I'll take the…' We're all, like…' [mouths 'That's Paul McCartney over there.'] He was just one of the guys. He was just one of the guys in the band. So now when I see him, I go, 'Vampire.' And he goes, 'I'm a Vampire.' But John was a vampire. John Lennon was one of our nightly guys; he was there every night."
The HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES band — featuring Cooper, Perry and Depp — will perform at the Rock In Rio festival in late September, with more tour dates scheduled for that month.
Cooper previously revealed that the upcoming album will include "four or five new songs," which the legendary rocker wrote specifically for the new effort. He told VH1 Radio Network's Dave Basner: "We decided that in order to set up the 'Hollywood Vampires' thing, you had to kind of tell the story, and you had to write songs that were going to set up the story, and then get into the covers. So we had fun sitting there writing these new songs around it. So it's going to be quite a package, this thing is."

NELSON Premier “Back In The Day” Music VideoGunnar & Matthew Nelson, collectively known simply as Nelson, recently returned with Peace Out, their most ambitious studio album to date. Check out the band’s new video for “Back In The Day”:
Released back in May, Peace Out marks a return to the well crafted melodic rock songs that put the band at the top of the Billboard charts in the 1990s. From the anthemic “Invincible” to the rollicking soon-to-be classic “Back In The Day”, Peace Out is quintessential Nelson from start to finish.
“We set a pretty high standard with our previous release with Lightning Strikes Twice. That record received by far the most critical acclaim of any Nelson record to date... Peace Out was expected to be even better, the so the goal was to push ourselves to the very limit- past what we believed we could do,” says Gunnar Nelson. “We wanted to write and record the most exciting, authentic, uplifting, and rockin’ Nelson record ever made! The mission: to make a classic.”
The brothers have always had their work cut out for themselves, being the third generation in one of America’s most celebrated entertainment families, who came into US households every week from 1952 through 1966 on the ABC sitcom, The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet. Their grandfather, Ozzie Nelson, was a celebrated big band leader, whose orchestra featured their grandmother, Harriet; and their late father, Ricky, was one of rock ’n’ roll’s earliest superstars, a member of The Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, and generally credited with creating the country-rock format.
When the Nelson twins burst onto the music scene with the Billboard #1 hit “(I Can’t Live Without Your) Love & Affection,” in 1990, they set a Guinness World Record by being the only family to have three generations of #1 hits on the charts! Nelson went on to release a half dozen rock albums selling nearly 7 million records, beginning with the multi-platinum After The Rain.
Peace Out marks their fourth release on Frontiers since 2010. Look for Nelson to embark on a world tour upon the album’s release. “We're putting the live show together as we speak... And it will incorporate the very best live songs from our career... Focusing heavily on the Peace Out album,” tells Gunnar.
Peace Out tracklisting:
“Hello Everybody”
“Back In The Day”
“Invincible”
“Let It Ride”
“I Wanna Stay Home”

Video: FEAR FACTORY Performs Live With Bassist TONY CAMPOS For First TimeBassist Tony Campos (ex-SOULFLY, STATIC-X, PRONG, MINISTRY) made his live debut with FEAR FACTORY on Saturday, June 20 at the Amnesia Rockfest in Montebello, Quebec, Canada. Video footage of the performance can be seen below.
Campos joined FEAR FACTORY in early May as the replacement for Matt DeVries (previously of CHIMAIRA, where he played guitar, and SIX FEET UNDER), who left the band in order to "take some time off of the road and focus on [his] kids."
FEAR FACTORY's new album "Genexus", will be released on August 7 via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. The follow-up to 2012's "The Industrialist" was co-produced by longtime collaborator Rhys Fulber, along with guitarist Dino Cazares and vocalist Burton C. Bell and mixed by Andy Sneap (ARCH ENEMY, TESTAMENT, EXODUS, MACHINE HEAD). Artwork was once again handled by Anthony Clarkson. Drums on "Genexus" were performed by Mike Heller (MALIGNANCY).
"The word 'genexus' is a hybrid of two words: 'genesis' and 'nexus,'" explained Bell. "This word describes the next transition in human evolution as man moves forward to a 'mechanical' state of being. Ray Kurzweil predicts that the singularity will occur around 2045. 'Genexus' is the term for that next evolutionary process. Where humans are machines, machines are human, and the differences are oblivious to the naked eye."
He continued: "This album is a record of thought patterns, psychology and struggles of the Genexus generation. The cognitive machine has arrived, and it wants autonomy from the industry that created it. This machine struggles, like every other human has throughout the course of history. This is the story of every one of us." 1
