CHAOS MAGIC Feat. Ex-STRATOVARIUS Guitarist TIMO TOLKKI, Chilean Singer CATERINA NIX:

CHAOS MAGIC Feat. Ex-STRATOVARIUS Guitarist TIMO TOLKKI, Chilean Singer CATERINA NIX: 'A Little Too Late' Song Streaming

Frontiers Music Srl will release of CHAOS MAGIC's self-titled debut album on July 3 in Europe and July 10 in North America.

The song "A Little Too Late" from "Chaos Magic" can be streamed below.

CHAOS MAGIC is the new alliance between Finnish songwriter/producer Timo Tolkki (formerly of STRATOVARIUS) and Chilean singer Caterina Nix. Nix previously collaborated with Timo on the second chapter of the AVALON rock opera "Angels Of The Apocalypse", where she shared lead vocals on songs with such singers as Simone Simons (EPICA), Elize Ryd (AMARANTHE), and Floor Jansen (NIGHTWISH).

Caterina's career started by singing lead vocals for the Chilean metal band AGHONYA with whom she opened shows for such bands as AFTER FOREVER, EDGUY and WITHIN TEMPTATION.

"I met Timo in Chile some years ago, during one of his visits to the country with STRATOVARIUS," says Caterina. "I remember going to a meet-and-greet with the band, and Timo and I just started talking like we had known each other for ages. We developed a very nice sort of father-to-daughter friendship and we have been in contact ever since. One day I decided to send him my music, just to know his opinion about it, and thankfully, he was pleasantly surprised. That's how it all started, really."

The "Chaos Magic" album was written, performed and produced by Tolkki to develop the vocal talent of Caterina and shows a diverse side of Timo's musical talents.

"I feel the music Timo created for this project is very current, it's strong and also shows some more delicate moments, without losing its edge," says Caterina. "It was a joy for me to sing these beautifully contagious songs. I did my best to bring emotion and passion into the songs, which I guess wasn't so hard, since I was truly so excited."

She adds: "I hope this album reaches several layers of music listeners. It's quite captivating and nothing would make me happier than singing these songs live... giving myself to the audience and feeling that connection, which is truly priceless to me."

We've worked very hard on crafting these songs to reflect our path, from our past to the present, and the journey of Hate Eternal and its members. Writing this album was a long and arduous process. It took a tremendous amount of determination, blood, and sweat to bring this all to fruition. We're super proud of what we've accomplished creatively, and excited at the prospect of releasing what we feel is our most powerful Hate Eternal material to date."

Erik continued, "Now it is time to bring this all to life! The recording process so far has been fantastic. I've never felt so focused and determined on a Hate Eternal record, and I know that this will be an album our listeners and supporters will truly appreciate. It represents an important milestone for me personally since 15 years ago both Hate Eternal began recording it's first album and Mana Recording Studios was born. TOOL Confirms First Show Of 2015 For Halloween

TOOL Confirms First Show Of 2015 For Halloween

According to The Pulse Of Radio, TOOL will play its first confirmed concert of 2015 on Halloween (October 31) at a one-day music festival called Monster Mash. The event will take place in Tempe, Arizona and the lineup will also feature PRIMUS and COHEED AND CAMBRIA. The show will mark the first time that TOOL has stepped onto a stage since a brief U.S. tour in April 2014

Guitarist Adam Jones revealed in March that the band had finally settled a complicated lawsuit that had dragged on for eight years and set back the band's recording and touring plans.

The band is now reportedly working at a faster pace on music for its first new studio set since 2006, with one song finished musically and 10 others in various stages of completion.Jones told The Pulse Of Radio that coming up with music wasn't hard for TOOL. "We've got lots of material," he said. "Our strongest thing is jamming. But grouping stuff together — and that's kind of how we work, you know, we jam and then you kind of go, 'Wow, this works with this really well' — and then you jam those two things and see if you can get 'em to work. But potential songs that aren't finished, I mean, we've got more than you can count on both hands, you know, and I'm excited about everything."

Jones said about the new music, "Some of it's really heavy, some of it's complex and some is more atmospheric, but it's definitely TOOL."

TOOL singer Maynard James Keenan also has a new album on the way from his side act PUSCIFER, which he plans to release this fall.

IRON MAIDEN To Release

IRON MAIDEN To Release 'Speed Of Light' Single In August

According to Warner Music Norway, British heavy metal legends IRON MAIDEN will release "Speed Of Light" as the first single from their forthcoming 16th studio album, "The Book Of Souls". The track, which marks the first time guitarist Adrian Smith and vocalist Bruce Dickinson have written together without bassist Steve Harris since MAIDEN's 1990 LP "No Prayer For The Dying", will be made available on August 14.

"The Book Of Souls" will be released globally on September 4 through Parlophone Records (Sanctuary Copyrights/BMG in the U.S.A.). It was recorded in Paris with their longstanding producer Kevin "Caveman" Shirley in late 2014, with the finishing touches added earlier this year. However, the band decided to delay its release so that vocalist Bruce Dickinson, who was recently given the all-clear from a tumour, would have time to recuperate sufficiently to join in the preparations for the album's launch.

The stunning cover art was created by Mark Wilkinson, who has worked with the band previously, and because this 11-track album has a total running time of 92 minutes, it is IRON MAIDEN's first-ever double studio album. There's a broader split on the songwriting compared to previous MAIDEN records, with bassist and founder member Steve Harris contributing to seven of the tracks; six of them with MAIDEN's guitarists and one sole composition. This is also the first time since 1984's "Powerslave" that an IRON MAIDEN studio album also features two tracks written solely by Bruce Dickinson, one of which is the longest song MAIDEN has ever recorded! And also two Dickinson/Smith collaborations.

Steve comments: "We approached this album in a different way to how we've recorded previously. A lot of the songs were actually written while we were there in the studio and we rehearsed and recorded them straight away while they were still fresh, and I think that immediacy really shows in the songs, they have almost a live feel to them, I think. I'm very proud of 'The Book Of Souls', we all are, and we can't wait for our fans to hear it, and especially to take it out on the road next year!"

Bruce continues: "We're really excited about 'The Book Of Souls' and had a fantastic time creating it. We started working on the album in late summer 2014 and recorded it at Guillame Tell Studios in Paris, where we'd done the 'Brave New World' album back in 2000 so the studio holds special memories for all of us. We were delighted to discover the same magical vibe is still alive and very much kicking there! So we immediately felt at home and the ideas just started flowing. By the time we'd finished we all agreed that each track was such an integral part of the whole body of work that if it needed to be a double album, then double its going to be!"

The full track listing is:

Disc 1

01. If Eternity Should Fail (Dickinson) 8:2802. Speed Of Light (Smith/ Dickinson) 5:0103. The Great Unknown (Smith/ Harris) 6:3704. The Red And The Black (Harris) 13:3305. When The River Runs Deep (Smith/ Harris) 5:5206. The Book Of Souls (Gers/ Harris) 10:27

Disc 2

07. Death Or Glory (Smith/ Dickinson) 5:1308. Shadows Of The Valley (Gers/ Harris) 7:3209. Tears Of A Clown (Smith/ Harris) 4:5910. The Man Of Sorrows (Murray/ Harris) 6:2811. Empire Of The Clouds (Dickinson) 18:01

Formats:

* 2CD deluxe hardbound book limited edition* 2CD standard edition* Triple heavyweight black vinyl* High res audio (24-bit Mastered for ITunes and non-Mastered for iTunes)* Standard res audio (16 bit/ 44.1 kHz)

"The Book Of Souls" is IRON MAIDEN's 16th studio album since their eponymous debut in 1980 charted at #4 in the UK, in a career achieving sales of over 90 million albums worldwide. Their previous album, 2010's "The Final Frontier", was MAIDEN's most successful chart-wise to date, reaching Number One in 28 countries and was their highest chart debut in the U.S reaching #4 in The Billboard 200.

Due to Bruce's illness, the band had to delay touring plans but promise to be out on the road again early next year, giving time for Bruce to make a full physical recovery to be ready for the rigours of MAIDEN live performances.

TIAMAT âîçâðàùàþòñÿ

TIAMAT âîçâðàùàþòñÿ

Friends. Last year, in a moment of doubt, I said I would leave Tiamat. My father had just passed away and I took that for a reason to drink. Drinking was more important than mourning.
My heart stopped beating six times last year, and.. I'm not even happy to be alive. I've been through all the pits of Hell you don't wanna know.
But what matters.. Is that through out of all this.. There are REAL friends, backing you up.
In a moment of doubt, I decided to leave the band. I had seizure and had just been hospitalized for delirium and stroke.
That was news to my good old friend Borivoj's Blabbermouth, and the like, ofcourse.
Wish you, dear friends will help us spread the word that is Tiamat. Yes, we're back & Yes, we're working on a new album. That's no news for gossip, that's why I write it here «smile» When we stand up, no one seems to care?
Now off to tattoo something. Anything I can afford. Or I do it myself.
Download our albums for free, but always feel welcome to come to our shows!
If you respect us, we will always be there for you!
Thank you so much!!!
Miss you all,
Johan

New DISTURBED Single

New DISTURBED Single 'The Vengeful One' Is Here; 'Immortalized' Album Due In August

After a four-year hiatus, Grammy Award-nominated, multiplatinum hard rock titans DISTURBED have announced their return with their sixth studio album, titled "Immortalized", to be released August 21 through Reprise Records. Lead single "The Vengeful One" is out now, along with the accompanying animated video from award-winning filmmaker Phil Mucci, and "Immortalized" is available for pre-order everywhere today. The upcoming release follows 2010's gold-certified "Asylum", DISTURBED's fourth consecutive #1 on the Billboard Top 200, and the group's subsequent four-year hiatus, which gave members David Draiman (vocals), Dan Donegan (guitar), Mike Wengren (drums) and John Moyer (bass) the necessary reprieve to make this imminent and deliberate return.

"The idea was to leave when we were at our peak, which we were, and to come back when we felt reinvigorated," asserts Draiman. "We had basically been going nonstop since 1998," adds Wengren. "We got to do our own things. It didn't take too long until the itch started coming back." And Donegan agrees: "We wanted to return when we collectively had that fire underneath us. We missed it so much that we could tap into this energy and deliver the right album. We did it on our own terms."

In January 2014, Draiman, Donegan, and Wengren met for dinner in their hometown of Chicago. Shortly thereafter, without notifying friends, families, or their label, the three began to fly back and forth to each other's respective home studios for writing sessions, marking the beginnings of "Immortalized" and the first time they collectively wrote together since 2001.

"For this album, everything was written in the same room," Draiman remarks. "It was wonderful experiencing how it used to be back in the day for us. That became apparent in the material, whether it was the passion of the performance, the power being harnessed, or the feelings evoked. We could feel the difference."

To push themselves further, the group headed to Las Vegas' Hideout Recordings to work alongside producer Kevin Churko (OZZY OSBOURNE, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH). "The goal was to find a producer we felt creatively comfortable with, but who could challenge us and spark a new evolution," said Donegan. "Churko did that."

The resulting record features the unshakable first single "The Vengeful One". "Musically, it's got that old school metal sound," says Donegan. "It's definitely DISTURBED!" and it is, along with an outside-the-box cover of SIMON & GARFUNKEL's "The Sound Of Silence", unlike anything in the group's catalog.

"I think the fans will feel like it was worth the wait," says Donegan. "We've been planning this for the past year and keeping it a secret so we can't wait to hear the response. I hope fans realize we have a lot more left in us. This album reassured me of that. To be away from it for almost 5 years, get back in a room, write together, and tap into that fire is awesome. Part of me didn't want to leave the studio! We still have a lot more to say. We still have a lot more to do. We're returning stronger than ever. I think 'Immortalized' shows that."

DEF LEPPARD

DEF LEPPARD's VIVIAN CAMPBELL Has 'Dodged The Bullet Of Radiation' In Cancer Battle

DEF LEPPARD guitarist Vivian Campbell will only miss the first two shows of the band's current tour while he continues to battle cancer. TRIXTER guitarist Steve Brown, who's been on hand to fill in for Campbell in the past, will once again sit in for him. LEPPARD, along with special guests STYX, and TESLA, open their summer tour on June 23 at Tampa, Florida's MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre.

In a new post on his Facebook page, Campbell writes: "So, so happy to report that I've dodged the bullet of radiation. I was due to start a course that would have sidelined me for most of the first leg of the U.S. tour, but my brilliant doctors have steered me towards an alternative course of treatment that will enable me to rejoin the tour this Saturday night in Birmingham, Alabama. Furthermore, they've tailored future treatments to accommodate the tour schedule so I won't have to miss any more shows."

He continued: "I'm so happy and so indebted to the wonderful physicians who have worked so hard on my behalf to make this happen."

Earlier this year, Vivian told the 106.5 WSFL radio station: "I got a cancer diagnosis a couple of years ago. And I gave it three runs of chemo, and that didn't quite do the job; it kept coming back. So I did a stem-cell transplant after last summer's tour. So in October I went to the hospital for a few weeks. All indications are that it's been successful. I mean, the scans are good, the bloodwork's good, my strength is coming back, my fitness is coming back. So it's kind of really corrected my life course in a lot of ways that are very positive. So I wouldn't change a thing. I mean, I've learned a lot from going through this — a lot of very, very valuable lessons. I'm kind of grateful for it in a way."

In an interview with the "Eddie Trunk Podcast", Vivian spoke about what it was like to find out last year that his cancer had returned after first announcing in November 2013 that he was in remission.

"For anyone who knew anything about cancer, they'd probably say, 'Well, that's not unusual,'" he said. "But I didn't. I got my diagnosis in the spring of 2013 when we were doing the Las Vegas residency with DEF LEPPARD. And as soon as we were done with that, I started six months of chemo. And I just kind of naturally assumed you do the chemo, you do a scan at the end of the chemo and it shows that you're good, and that's it. But apparently not. It was, like, ninety-something percent gone, and it was what they couldn't see on the scan that came creeping back. And it came back so fast. That's why the doctors advised me to do the stem-cell transplant — to try and kill it at the microbiological level. So it's pretty much rocket-science stuff; I mean, it's amazing technology. I personally feel pretty good about this right now. I feel that it's gone. But, like I said, you never really know, and you've gotta keep your eye on it. If it's gonna come back, it's gonna come back in the next couple of years. But hopefully not, you know?!"

Asked if he has had an opportunity to speak with some of his fellow musicians, like BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi, and other people who have gone through similar ordeals, Vivian said: "Funny enough, actually, I think that Tony Iommi and I have the same cancer — Hodgkin's lymphoma — as far as I know. But obviously I don't know what stage his was at. Now I don't know Tony personally, so I haven't talked to him about it. But I've talked to a lot of people. It's amazing. Even just through my Facebook page. I mean, you put this kind of stuff out there, and I personally was amazed by how rampant it is, how many people have been affected by it to some degree, or people that are close to them in their family. I've had a lot of advice, but to be honest, I'm just pig-headed and Irish, and I just do my own thing. The main thing for me was to continue working, and in fact, to continue my life unabated, and to not let it compromise me as much as possible. And I think that's been a big part of my mental recovery on this."

Campbell — who before joining DEF LEPPARD in 1992 was well known for his work with DIO and WHITESNAKE — went public with his Hodgkin's lymphoma diagnosis in 2013.

Due to the fact that a long-established and still active Swedish heavy metal band called Destiny already exists since the early 1980s, Power Prog and their Costa Rican power metal mates have decided to change the band's name to Wings Of Destiny, above all to distinguish themselves clearly and to avoid misunderstandings with the media and with fans of both bands.

Ten technically demanding, catchy and entertaining tracks can be expected by the listener, and fans of European influenced melodic power metal will thoroughly enjoy this album as a real highlight in 2015.

MEGADETH

MEGADETH's DAVE MUSTAINE Working On Special Project To Celebrate 30th Anniversary of 'Killing Is My Business'

MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has revealed that he is working with producer/mixer Mark Lewis (CANNIBAL CORPSE, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, COAL CHAMBER, CANNIBAL CORPSE) on a special project to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the band's debut album, "Killing Is My Business… And Business Is Good!" No further details have yet been revealed.

"Killing Is My Business… And Business Is Good!", which came out June 12, 1985, included a metallized version of Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots", with modified lyrics, and "The Mechanix", a Mustaine song that originally appeared on METALLICA's legendary "No Life 'Til Leather" demo (later reworked by METALLICA as the "Kill 'Em All" track "The Four Horsemen").

"I wrote all the music for 'The Four Horsemen'," Mustaine said in an interview, "and James [Hetfield] wrote the lyrics, and, actually, part of the lyrics was based on a concept I had. I can't tell you how they felt about it, but I know how I felt about it, because when I was asked to leave, I said, 'Don't use any of my stuff!' And then 'Kill 'Em All' came out."

MEGADETH reportedly wasted almost its entire "Killing Is My Business… And Business Is Good!" budget (an initial advance of $8,000 plus an additional $4,000) on drugs and could not afford to work with a name producer. As a result, they ended up hiring Karat Faye, who had engineered the demo that got them signed. The LP was recorded over a four-week period from December 1984 to January 1985 at Indigo Ranch Studios in Malibu, California and was widely panned for its weak production.

In 2002, "Killing Is My Business…" was reissued with new artwork based on Mustaine's original design. In addition, the re-release contained a heavily bleeped version of "These Boots" due to songwriter Lee Hazlewood's refusal to grant the group the rights to re-release the version with its altered lyrics intact.

POISON Without BRET MICHAELS: Multi-Cam Footage Of THE SPECIAL GUESTS On MONSTERS OF ROCK Cruise

POISON Without BRET MICHAELS: Multi-Cam Footage Of THE SPECIAL GUESTS On MONSTERS OF ROCK Cruise

Multi-camera video footage of THE SPECIAL GUESTS, the new band featuring POISON members Rikki Rockett (drums), Bobby Dall (bass) and C.C. DeVille (guitar), alongside vocalist/rhythm guitarist Brandon Gibbs (CHEAP THRILL, DEVIL CITY ANGELS), performing the POISON song "Fallen Angel" during this year's Monsters Of Rock cruise can be seen below (clip by Dave "Ravage" Stabley of Big Bad Dog Productions).

THE SPECIAL GUESTS, which performs the music of POISON, made its live debut at the Monsters Of Rock pre-party on April 17 at the Magic City Casino in Miami, Florida.

Rockett and Gibbs also play together in DEVIL CITY ANGELS, the band featuring former L.A. GUNS guitarist Tracii Guns and bassist Rudy Sarzo (QUIET RIOT).

POISON appeared at the 2013 Indy 500 Miller Lite Carb Day, but has otherwise been mostly playing private shows, including one this past January. The band's last major dates were with LITA FORD and DEF LEPPARD as part of the 2012 "Rock Of Ages" tour.

POISON singer Bret Michaels is continuing to focus on his solo career and has just released a teaser for "Girls On Bars", his new rock-and-country-crossover track which was written with Grammy Award-winning songwriter Luke Laird.

Michaels was hopeful about the prospect of POISON touring this summer when he spoke to rock journalist Lucas H. Gordon last October. He stated at the time: "With POISON, next year, if everything goes awesome, is gonna be the biggest reunion ever. It's gonna be great. C.C., Bobby, Rikki, myself — all original [members] — we're gonna take it out there on the road and it's gonna be an unbelievable summer."

Rockett last year told the "92 Minutes Of Hair With Mel" show on the Las Vegas, Nevada radio station KOMP 92.3 about rumors and speculation about a possible rift within POISON, particularly as it relates to him and Bret Michaels: "Actually, there's nothing wrong within the band that I'm aware of — I mean, unless something happened and nobody told me.

"Sure, we're trying to put a tour together. And if we can put it together and it makes sense and we can get our crap together, we will do something.

"What I was answering in one question [in a previous interview] was, 'At this moment, as I sit here, we're not contracted for a POISON tour next summer.' That's all I was saying. And it contradicted something Bret had said [in a separate interview], but not really. Bret didn't say we had a tour for sure either. He said, 'I think we're gonna probably be able to tour. And I'm not saying that we are.' He didn't commit to either. Whatever… It's fine."

According to Rockett: "POISON has never disbanded. POISON will continue on as long as it makes sense. I mean, C.C. departed for a while and that was really the only time we weren't the original lineup. But we always will be until it just doesn't make sense anymore."

Rockett took to Twitter in February 2014 to complain that POISON couldn't hit the road that summer because a certain member of the glam-metal act was "making it a problem."

NUCLEAR ASSAULT: Video Footage Of SWEDEN ROCK FESTIVAL Performance

NUCLEAR ASSAULT: Video Footage Of SWEDEN ROCK FESTIVAL Performance

Fan-filmed video footage of NUCLEAR ASSAULT's June 6 performance at this year's edition of the Sweden Rock Festival in Sölvesborg can be seen below.

NUCLEAR ASSAULT's new EP, "Pounder", the was released on CD and as a digital download on June 1 via drummer Glenn Evans's own Sidipus Records, with a deluxe vinyl version to follow on June 29 by U.K. crossover label Dry Heave Records.

When NUCLEAR ASSAULT announced last year that they would be reforming to celebrate their 30th anniversary in 2015 and undertake what was to be their "Final Assault" world tour, it didn't take long after their initial rehearsals for new music to emerge. The band entered Black Dog studio in Rochester, New York in January of this year and laid down four new songs. Semi-retired bass legend Dan Lilker has described these recordings as "four killer old-school thrash tunes." They are classic NUCLEAR ASSAULT — raw, fast, abrasive and delivered with their inimitable cynicism and vitriol. Written by the long-standing partnership of Lilker and guitarist/vocalist John Connelly (with the lineup completed by drummer Glenn Evans and guitarist Erik Burke) these new songs mark their first recordings since 2005's "Third World Genocide" album and their first EP release since 1988's "Fight To Be Free".

"Pounder" EP track listing: 01. Pounder02. The Blind Follow (a.k.a. Lies)03. Analogue Man In A Digital World04. Died In Your Arms

NUCLEAR ASSAULT released its first-ever DVD, "Louder Harder Faster", in October 2006 via Screaming Ferret Wreckords. Recorded during the band's performance at the 2005 Louder Harder Faster Festival (taped on June 5, 2005), the disc also includes such extra bits as vintage live footage, slide shows (put to the original "Survive" demos), music videos, in the studio footage, unreleased songs, and an interview with longtime members Danny Lilker and Glenn Evans.

Originally formed back in 1984, NUCLEAR ASSAULT bassist Lilker witnessed the birth of thrash metal first as an original member of ANTHRAX, as well as a crucial component to S.O.D., NUCLEAR ASSAULT and BRUTAL TRUTH.

While many thrash metal bands tempered their aggression with melody, NUCLEAR ASSAULT stuck to its guns throughout and in the process, released such thrash classics as 1988's "Survive" and 1989's "Handle with Care".

After an extended hiatus, the group returned in the early 21st century with its first new studio album in over a decade, 2005's "Third World Genocide".

KISS

KISS's GENE SIMMONS: 'The Fans Are Killing New Bands'

Sofie of Studio Brussel conducted an interview with KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons and drummer Eric Singer when the band played at the Graspop Metal Meeting in Dessel, Belgium on June 19. You can now watch the chat below.

Elaborating on his controversial "rock is dead" remark from last year, Simmons said: "The biggest bands in the world are not 20 years old. There are no big new bands."

Asked if he think newer bands are simply less creative than the artist from the earlier generations, Simmons responded: "It's not that. It's just there's no record industry. You hurt the thing that you love. The fans killed record companies. Record companies paid new artists to come out."

Added Eric: "You took away the developmental aspect. Bands used to struggle, play, tour… Maybe by the third or fourth record, they'd start gaining some momentum and get famous and become well known around the world. Now, what record label is there to give the infrastructure to support for three albums, or four albums, before the band finally makes it. It doesn't exist anymore. That's the hard part. The talent is there. Maybe even more talent than ever."

Continued Gene: "[There are] fifty thousand people over there [at the Graspop Metal Meeting festival]. Should they get in for free, or do they have to pay?"

When the interviewer responded that "nothing is for free," Gene said: "Yes, it is. You can download and you can fileshare for free. And so you're killing the next new band — you're killing them. It doesn't affect us; we've been around 41 years. But it's very sad for a new band. We want the baby bands to succeed."

Added Eric: "I think people take this out of context, and take the wrong meaning. When Gene says, 'Rock is dead,' it doesn't mean that there's not great talent, or great rock musicians, or great bands. It means the chance for those bands to become the next BEATLES or the next SABBATH or the next big thing, you've taken the opportunities away from them. You've made it so… It's so hard to get anywhere in this business, and it's gotten harder because of this. That's the point. The talent is there. We know it. Go on YouTube. You can see all these amazing kid musicians now that play phenomenal. But it's gonna be tough for them to make it. Most people think, 'Oh, that kid's gonna be a star. Look how great he is.' But if people aren't willing to pay and support these people to have a career, how are they gonna make a living?"

Continued Gene: "[People say] it's not all about money, it's not all about… No. Yes, it is… You wanna get into your car and you wanna drive. You have to buy fuel. If you steal the fuel for free, he's out of business, he stops bringing fuel, and then nobody gets fuel. You're killing new bands. You're killing them. Not corporate entities. The fans are killing new bands, because they're not paying for the music. It does not affect us; we're not complaining. But it's bad for new bands."

SLIPKNOT To

SLIPKNOT To 'Take A Couple Of Years Off' After Completing Current Tour Cycle

On June 18, RockSverige.se conducted an interview with SLIPKNOT vocalist Corey Taylor at this year's Copenhell festival in Copenhagen, Denmark. You can now watch the chat below. A couple of excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

On rumors that SLIPKNOT is already working on material for the follow-up to last year's ".5: The Gray Chapter" album:

Corey: "Well, I mean, we're gonna finish touring and then we're gonna take a couple of years off again to, kind of, let everything chill. I'm gonna go do my thing, [and] everybody else's gonna go, kind of, do their thing. I know Clown's [percussion] got movies that he wants to make, which is very cool. He just wrapped his first feature a couple of months ago, which I'm pretty stoked for him about. So everybody is gonna, kind of, do their thing, and then, in a couple of years, we'll get back together and see what happens again. Kind of what we used to do… Before we lost [SLIPKNOT bassist] Paul [Gray], that's what we would do: we would go [pursue other projects] for a while and then we would get back together after a couple of years and say, like, 'All right. What have we got now?' So I think that's what we're gonna do."

On whether he ever thought SLIPKNOT would one day be able to afford to fly around in a private jet, like they are during the current summer festival season in Europe:

Corey: "No. No. I mean, look at us. Bands like us don't get there. We're very, very lucky. We have a lot of talent. We have a lot of hard work, as far as our work ethic goes. And we're very stubborn men. But, you know, at the same time, we're very lucky. We were the right band at the right time with the right type of emotion, and I think, because of that, we've been able to take this further than we could have even ever imagined. I can't speak for everybody in the band, but I know I'm extremely grateful for the love that the audience has given us."

On why SLIPKNOT is still at the top of its game twently years into the band's existence:

Corey: "I don't know… to be honest. I mean, the only thing that I can say, or figure out, is maybe because our reasons for making music have never changed. We're still the band who remembers what it was like to hear our favorite bands when we were 14. And remember playing in front of an audience when we were, like, 19 — or, in my case, my first show was when I was 13. That same passion carries over today. I'm 41, so, for me, it wouldn't make any sense for me to come out here and fake it and act like I wanted be here, because I wear my emotions very much on everything. So, for me, the same emotion that went into the first album goes into everything that we do, and I think the fans realize that and they feel it and they react to it, and I think that's why we've just been getting bigger and bigger and bigger… in a career that has, really, had a lot of highs and lows. So, yeah, I don't try to figure it out anymore. I just kind of go, 'All right.' I enjoy the surprise of it. And that just makes me do everything I can for the audience."

SLIPKNOT's "Summer's Last Stand" tour kicks off on July 24 in West Palm Beach, Florida, wrapping up six weeks later on September 5 in Dallas. Joining SLIPKNOT on the road trip will be LAMB OF GOD, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE and MOTIONLESS IN WHITE. The summer jaunt follows a brief spring run that SLIPKNOT launched on April 25 at the Fort Rock festival in Fort Myers, Florida, ending on May 16 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

SLIPKNOT's new album, ".5: The Gray Chapter", sold around 132,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 1 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD arrived in stores on October 21, 2014 via Roadrunner.

Study: Listening To Heavy Metal Makes You Calmer

Study: Listening To Heavy Metal Makes You Calmer

Extreme music — such as heavy metal — can positively influence those experiencing anger, a study by The University Of Queensland, an Australian public research university primarily located in Brisbane, Queensland, has revealed.

In contrast to previous studies linking loud and chaotic music to aggression and delinquency, research by UQ's School Of Psychology honors student Leah Sharman and Dr. Genevieve Dingle showed listeners mostly became inspired and calmed.

"We found the music regulated sadness and enhanced positive emotions," Sharman said.

"When experiencing anger, extreme music fans liked to listen to music that could match their anger.

"The music helped them explore the full gamut of emotion they felt, but also left them feeling more active and inspired.

"Results showed levels of hostility, irritability and stress decreased after music was introduced, and the most significant change reported was the level of inspiration they felt."

The study was published in Frontiers In Human Neuroscience and involved 39 regular listeners of extreme music, aged 18-34 years.

Participants were monitored during a baseline period, after a 16-minute "anger induction."

Participants then spent 10 minutes listening to songs of their choice, or 10 minutes of silence, and were monitored once more.

The "anger induction" involved the interviewees describing angering events in their life, with prompts around relationships, employment and finances.

While the majority (74 percent) of participants were Australian-born, the remainder were born in locations as diverse as Oman, Sweden, Indonesia, South Africa, New Caledonia, New Zealand and the USA.

"A secondary aim for the study was to see what music angry participants would select from their playlist," Sharman said.

"It was interesting that half of the chosen songs contained themes of anger or aggression, with the remainder containing themes like — though not limited to — isolation and sadness.

"Yet participants reported they used music to enhance their happiness, immerse themselves in feelings of love and enhance their well-being.

"All of the responses indicated that extreme music listeners appear to use their choice of music for positive self-regulatory purposes."

GRAVE PLEASURES To Release

GRAVE PLEASURES To Release 'Dreamcrash' Album In September

Finnish/Swedish death rockers GRAVE PLEASURES will release their new album, "Dreamcrash", on September 4 through Sony Music's Columbia label.

Formed out of the debris of the band BEASTMILK — the band that had indie kids, goths, punks and the music press dancing to their highly praised debut album "Climax" in 2013 — GRAVE PLEASURES are taking the concept of the apocalypse one step further. This time it's personal.

GRAVE PLEASURES consists of singer/songwriter Mat McNerney (also of HEXVESSEL), bassist Valtteri Arino, guitarist/songwriter Linnéa Olsson (THE OATH, SONIC RITUAL), drummer Uno Bruniusson (IN SOLITUDE, PROCESSION) — as well as live and studio session guitarist Juho Vanhanen (ORANSSI PAZUZU).

In May of this year, this impressive lineup entered the studio together with award-winning producer Tom Dalgety (KILLING JOKE, ROYAL BLOOD). The result is a complex and feverish set of modern rock songs. Urban tribal rhythms; potent melancholia; raw pop sensibility; irreverent ferociousness — "Dreamcrash" is seductive in its surrealism one minute, and a cold shower of harsh reality the next.

"I am concerned with a total collapse of our dreams," says Mat McNerney. "Hacking out this feverish, frantic and very uninhibited music, it exposes and lays raw some intense emotions. As we get deeper and closer to capturing the spirit of what we set out for this band to be, we are touching some vital nerves. It's getting under the skin, under the flesh."

The stunning artwork is made by Samantha Muljat at Bloodbank Design and can be seen below.

SEBASTIAN BACH Will Aim For BLACK SABBATH

SEBASTIAN BACH Will Aim For BLACK SABBATH's '13' Kind Of Production On His Next Solo Album

Episode 272 of the "Iron City Rocks" podcast (web site) features an interview with former SKID ROW frontman Sebastian Bach. You can now listen to the chat using the audio player below.

Speaking about his plans to record the follow-up to last year's "Give 'Em Hell" album, Bach said: "Each one of my solo records pretty much sold exactly the same amount. Like, they even… on The Billboard 200 chart, one of them charted at 69, one charted at 70, one charted at 71. It's, like, crazy.

"For my next record, which I will do some day, it's gonna be, I think, different than the last three albums I did. In my heart, what I would love is to have an album of mine that sounded like a '70s album. What I mean [by that] is recording it in a way that… Like, when I listen to 'Women And Children First' by VAN HALEN, the guitar's all the way on the left, and the vocals are in the middle, with the drums who knows where, and it's just very different sounding, recording-wise, than the way albums are made today. So I think the next time I make an album, that's really what I'm gonna be going for."

He continued: "BLACK SABBATH's '13' sounds like a '70s BLACK SABBATH album, as much as it could in 2014. So whatever the fuck they were doing, I just would love to have an album of mine that sounds like that.

"I love 'Give 'Em Hell'… 'Give 'Em Hell' is like 'Star Wars'; it's, like, 'Holy shit!' I mean, it's a very modern-sounding record. And when it really got that sound was when it went to mastering with Tom Baker; he made it sound so fucking 'spacey,' and I totally love it. But my taste, as a fan, a rock fan, the next one I do, I'm gonna be going for, like… If I could have a BLACK SABBATH '13' kind of production, that's what I'll be looking for."

Bach is continuing to tour in support of his "Give 'Em Hell", which sold around 4,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 72 on The Billboard 200 chart.

Bach's previous CD, "Kicking & Screaming", opened with 6,600 units back in October 2011 to land at No. 73.

The singer's 2007 effort, "Angel Down", registered a first-week tally of 6,400 back to enter the chart at No. 190.

"Give 'Em Hell" was released on April 22, 2014 via Frontiers Records.

As previously reported, Dey Street Books (formerly It Books), an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, has set a January 19, 2016 release date for Bach's much-anticipated autobiography, "18 And Life On Skid Row".

JUSTIN BIEBER Slammed By Heavy Metal Fans For Wearing METALLICA T-Shirt

JUSTIN BIEBER Slammed By Heavy Metal Fans For Wearing METALLICA T-Shirt

According to U.K.'s Mirror, pop superstar Justin Bieber has been slammed by heavy metal fans for wearing a METALLICA t-shirt.

The 21-year-old singer posted a photo over the weekend of himself donning a wide-brimmed black hat along with an oversized black METALLICA top. This led to a torrent of abuse being hurled in his direction, with one Instagram user writing: "Take that shirt off you don't deserve it," while another added: "U r a disgrace to metallica." Someone else stated: "I love Metallica and I hate Justin Bieber."

The members of METALLICA were asked in a 2013 issue of Q magazine if they were "Beliebers" — a.k.a. fans of Justin Bieber — after Bieber claimed that the METALLICA songs "One" and "Fade To Black" were his "jams." Frontman James Hetfield replied, "Are we Beliebers? Yes." while drummer Lars Ulrich offered: "Is it possible to have respect for him without being a Belieber? I think the kid's really talented and obviously to go through what he's going through at that early age must be a mindfuck. So the fact that he still goes out there and does it, I admire that and I think he's super talented, so I guess I am kind of a Belieber. If he likes 'One', and Liam Gallagher likes him, OK, there you go."

Bassist Robert Trujillo added: "As long as he stays out of trouble, I'll be a Belieber."

Back in 2013, a backstage video surfaced of Justin Bieber performing an impromptu cover of METALLICA's "Fade To Black". The 15-second clip showed Bieber playing air guitar while he tried to recreate the guitar solo from the classic 1984 METALLICA track with his voice. Bieber was accompanied by his musical director Dan Kanter on guitar.

According to NME.com, Bieber previously revealed that he is a big fan of METALLICA, naming "Fade To Black" and 1988's "One" as two of his favorite METALLICA cuts. "Those are my jams," he told GQ in 2012.

JOURNEY Featuring Drummer OMAR HAKIM: Video Footage Of Hollywood Bowl Concert

JOURNEY Featuring Drummer OMAR HAKIM: Video Footage Of Hollywood Bowl Concert

JOURNEY opened the 2015 Hollywood Bowl season with a performance with Thomas Wilkins and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra on June 20. The ever-popular and enduring rock band performed a full set, marking the group's first-ever appearance with an orchestra. The opening-night concert also featured performances by the Los Angeles Philharmonic's Youth Orchestra Los Angeles (YOLA). The evening concluded with a spectacular fireworks show.

Fan-filmed video footage of JOURNEY's performance can be seen below.

JOURNEY made the decision to have Omar Hakim play drums for the band's currently scheduled U.S. concerts (Hollywood Bowl and the Stadium of Fire in Provo, Utah on Saturday, July 4), as well as the band's Canadian tour (July 6 - August 3), due to Deen Castronovo's pending issues. The group said in a statement: "We are very grateful to Omar filling in with his musical excellence."

According to TMZ.com, Castronovo was arrested for assault after a domestic dispute on June 14.

Salem, Oregon police officers were called to a residence — believed to be Castronovo's — around 9:00 a.m. After entering the home, the cops arrested the musician without incident.

Castronovo was booked for assault, coercion, and menacing. He has since been released on bail.

Castronovo was previously arrested in January 2012 for allegedly assaulting his former girlfriend. He was subsequently ordered to perform 80 hours of community service and attend anger-management classes as part of a plea deal.

A representative of Castronovo's claimed at the time that the altercation was "a misunderstanding that should not have been escalated to such a level in the first place."
