New FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Single

New FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Single 'Jekyll And Hyde' Arrives At Radio

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's new single, "Jekyll And Hyde", arrived at rock radio stations on Monday morning (June 15) and can now be streamed at MonsterEnergy.com. The track, which is also available below, is taken from the band's upcoming sixth studio album, "Got Your Six". Drummer Jeremy Spencer told The Pulse Of Radio that the tune clicked immediately for the band. "You know what, I think it's really a different groove for us," he said. "It's something that people are gonna go, 'Man, it sounds like DEATH PUNCH but it's really different for them.' So I'm excited to get it released. As soon as we heard it, we knew that that had to be the first single, 'cause it just kind of leapt out at us, you know."

"Got Your Six" will arrive on August 28.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH guitarist Jason Hook told MikeJamesRockShow.com about "Jekyll And Hyde": "It's an interesting song, because Ivan [Moody, vocals] left me a voicemail in the middle of the night, and I woke up the next morning and I took his voicemail and I made it into a song — not realizing that it would be used. I just thought, 'Hey, what about this thing?' Everyone loved it. We, actually, left the voicemail as part of the verse. Like, that's… organic from… it's actual audio from his voicemail. And we included the voicemail on the record at the very end, so you can hear the voicemail in its entirety. It's pretty cool."

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH guitarist Zoltan Bathory recently told Revolver magazine that "Jekyll And Hyde" was one of his favorite songs on "Got Your Six" "just because it's so bizarre." He said: "That one has a funny story. Ivan doesn't sleep at night, so it's pretty often that he'll call one of us at four or five in the morning and leave crazy messages on our phones. And what happened was, Jason was going through his voicemail and found dozens and dozens of these messages from Ivan. So he copied them onto a hard drive and then we pulled out different words and sentences and put them together. And that's the verses of the song. They're taken directly from Jason's phone. It's one of my favorite songs on the record, just because it's so bizarre."

Regarding the musical direction of the new FIVE FINGER material, Bathory said: "So far, it's a harder, faster record. We don't have a slow song and I don't think we're gonna write one. So it's just a higher-energy effort." He believes that the music has has picked up pace "because when we started to write this time, everybody was in a really good mood. The band has always been a well-oiled machine, but this is one time where we felt, 'Wow, everyone has grown up in some way as a musician.' We also stopped all the partying and the crazy shit and were really focused and sober. And because of that, this record has been probably the most fun one to make. It also maybe contributed to everything being more up-tempo and energetic."

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH released its last effort, "The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell", in two parts, with the first arriving in July 2013 and the second following in November 2013.

The band will head out on a co-headlining fall tour with PAPA ROACH. The trek kicks off on September 4 in Lexington, Kentucky, winding down on October 9 in Glen Falls, New York. Also along will be IN THIS MOMENT and FROM ASHES TO NEW.

The two headliners actively involved their fans in the routing of the tour by giving them the opportunity to request the tour come to their city via a "demand campaign." Some 1.5 million people responded and made their choices known.

OBITUARY Releases

OBITUARY Releases 'Violence' Animated Music Video

Death metal legends OBITUARY have released an animated music video for the track "Violence" from their most recent album, "Inked In Blood". The video, which was animated and directed by Balázs Gróf, can be seen below.

Commented OBITUARY: "We had a blast creating the idea for the video and to watch Balázs animate us was a very cool experience.

"In the world of modern technology, it is easy to shoot a music video with a camera crew and high-tech video equipment but we wanted something different. Something we hope the fans enjoy and understand that OBITUARY, though we are the godfathers of Florida death metal, don't take themselves too seriously and enjoy having fun.

"This cartoon is a perfect example of what kind of people we are. Not afraid to kick ass on stage but also not afraid to laugh at ourselves.

"We know that music is created for fans to enjoy and get away in their mind from the real world for just a few moments at a time and this video we hope makes them smile and laugh with us and at us."

Director / animator Balázs Gróf commented as well: "I made a video for the Hungarian band BLIND MYSELF which went on 'Headbangers Ball''s best videos of 2008 chart and it was seen by John Tardy, who became interested in having an animated video for OBITUARY. Eventually the long-awaited new studio album 'Inked In Blood' provided the reason for making one.

"I've been a fan of OBITUARY since 1990, I have seen all their gigs in Budapest during the years, so I got extremely happy when we made a deal.

"First, I made a 18 second-long animation for a snippet of the first single 'Visions In My Head', which was quite brutal and gory, just to illustrate my concept on an OBITUARY video. The Tardy brothers dug it. However, they came up with the idea of a fun video for 'Violence' drawn in classic cartoon style. They made up the whole storyline. As most of the important elements, that was also their idea to make the band's van as a reference to probably the most famous van in American cartoon history — and which I won't name now not to spoil anyone's entertainment... I only added a few special characters to the story. Finally it was about six months in the making.

"It's been a blast and the guys were super cool throughout the process. It was big fun meeting them in person at their killer show in Budapest.

"I am very honoured that OBITUARY hired me to do this video. It would be so funny to go back in time to tell the 16 year-old me that this is going to happen. Obviously the poor fellow would pass out immediately!"

SATAN To Release

SATAN To Release 'Atom By Atom' Album In October

British heavy metal veterans SATAN will release their new studio album, "Atom By Atom", in October via Listenable Records. The follow-up to 2013's "Life Sentence" was recorded at Newcastle's First Avenue Studios and was once again mixed and mastered by Dario Mollo in Italy. The cover artwork was created by artist Eliran Kantor, who has previously worked with TESTAMENT, ICED EARTH, SODOM and SOULFLY, among others. The CD features ten songs, including a collaboration with ANGEL WITCH's Kevin Heybourne.

"Atom By Atom" track listing:

01. Farewell Evolution02. Fallen Saviour03. Ruination04. The Devil's Infantry05. Atom By Atom06. In Contempt07. My Own God08. Ahriman09. Bound In Enmity10. The Fall Of Persephone

SATAN guitarist Steve Ramsey stated about "Atom By Atom": "We wanted to keep some continuity going with both the look and sound of this album.

"We've been working on the music for nearly two years now and I think people will definitely hear a progression from 'Life Sentence'. I can't really describe it, but I promise you, these songs will speak for themselves."

SATAN released a live album, "Trail Of Fire - Live In North America", in October 2014 to celebrate its debut live appearances last year on the North American soil in support of "Life Sentence".

Originating from Newcastle, England in 1980, SATAN is known as part of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal movement. Though generally obscure throughout their career, the band is considered influential for playing a form of proto-thrash metal that was fairly advanced by the standards of the early 1980s, influencing major acts like METALLICA, EXODUS and DEATH ANGEL.

"Life Sentence" was released on April 29, 2013 in Europe and May 21, 2013 in the U.S. via Listenable Records. The CD was the culmination of a process that began when the original "Court In The Act" lineup got together for an exclusive "one-off" reunion show at Germany's Keep It True festival in 2011 in what marked their first performance together in 28 years.

The recording lineup for "Life Sentence" was the same as that on "Court In The Act":

Brian Ross (vocals) Steve Ramsey (guitar) Russ Tippins (guitar) Graeme English (bass) Sean Taylor (drums)

SATAN is one of the most important groups that emerged in the early NWOBHM era. Their unique mixture of heavy and power metal spirit with thrash riffage brought a handful of unforgettable tunes and revolutionized heavy music as we know it.

"Court in the Act" was SATAN's debut release and was considered a true milestone at the time of its release (1983). The songs were melodic, but at the same time very aggressive. The band's two guitarists, Russ Tippins and Steve Ramsey, delivered a truly amazing performance; although their styles were completely different, they managed to perfectly complement each other's playing and introduced a handful of timeless riffs and solos.

Former ANGEL Frontman FRANK DIMINO:

Former ANGEL Frontman FRANK DIMINO: 'Sweet Sensation' Song Available For Streaming

Frontiers Music Srl will release the comeback album from former ANGEL singer Frank DiMino, titled "Old Habits Die Hard", on July 3 in Europe and July 10 in North America.

The song "Sweet Sensation", taken from "Old Habits Die Hard", can be streamed below.

While Frank is undoubtedly DIMINO's mastermind, "Old Habits Die Hard" sees him collaborate with some heavyweights of the Las Vegas music scene, where he currently resides. Under the production of Paul Crook (MEAT LOAF, ANTHRAX), the album sees the participation — among others — of Oz Fox (STRYPER), Eddie Ojeda (TWISTED SISTER), Rickey Medlocke (BLACKFOOT, LYNYRD SKYNYRD), Pat Thrall (HUGHES/THRALL), Jeff Duncan (ARMORED SAINT), Jeff Labansky, former ANGEL bandmates Punky Meadows (on guitar) and Barry Brandt (who co-wrote with Frank the song "Even Now") and many others.

Frank says: "It all started because of the relationships between Ken Ciancimino, Paul Crook, myself and the musicians that appeared on the album. I started writing songs with Oz Fox and Jeff Labansky and then Paul suggested we use John Miceli (drums) and Danny Miranda (bass) as our rhythm section and Justin Avery for keys and background vocals because of his relationship from playing with them for MEAT LOAF. When the recording started, our friends wanted to be part of it and one after the other Pat Thrall, Punky Meadows, Eddie Ojeda, Rickey Medlocke and Jeff Duncan provided their amazing musicianship to the album. I feel truly honored to have had all these great musicians be a part of this project!"

Frank DiMino was the frontman for ANGEL in the second half of the '70s. The band was discovered by KISS bass player Gene Simmons who got them signed to Casablanca Records, where they released five critically acclaimed studio albums and a live LP. After the band's demise, DiMino went on to collaborate with UFO's Paul Raymond and worked as a singer on soundtracks, scoring a platinum album for the inclusion of his song "Seduce Me Tonight" with CYCLE V on the "Flashdance" soundtrack.

"Old Habits Die Hard" is going to take many by surprise, as it is definitely not a nostalgia fest, but really a rather compelling and inspired hard rock release. Frank says: "I'm excited to reach new fans as well as many ANGEL fans. There is certainly a connection between then and now, and that is still about making a great record with great musicians!"

"Old Habits Die Hard" track listing:

01. Never Again02. Rockin' In The City03. I Can't Stop Loving You04. The Rain's About To Fall05. Even Now06. Tears Will Fall07. Mad As Hell08. Sweet Sensation09. Tonight's The Night10. The Quest11. Stones By The River

The video for "Rockin' In The City" can be seen below.

DIMINO recording lineup:

* Frank DiMino: Lead Vocals* Oz Fox, Paul Crook, Jeff Labansky, Pat Thrall, Punky Meadows, Jeff Duncan, Eddie Ojeda, Dylan DiMino, Rickey Medlocke: Guitars* Justin Avery: Organ, Background Vocals* Danny Miranda, Paul Crook: Bass* John Miceli: Drums

Former IRON MAIDEN Singer DENNIS WILLCOCK Performs Live For First Time In 37 Years (Video)

Former IRON MAIDEN singer Dennis Willcock made his first live appearance in 37 years on June 13 at 12 Bar Club in London, England. Also on the bill was BUFFALO FISH, the band featuring another former IRON MAIDEN member, guitarist Terry Wapram. Video: METALLICA's JAMES HETFIELD And KIRK HAMMETT Perform National Anthem at NBA Finals Game 5

METALLICA's James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett performed the National Anthem this past Sunday (June 14) during Game 5 of the NBA Finals featuring San Francisco's Golden State Warriors.

Video footage of their appearance can be seen below.

Prior to the event, METALLICA said in a statement: "We're incredibly lucky to have another winning team here in the Bay Area as the Golden State Warriors took the NBA Western Conference title and are facing the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. By now we're guessing that you've noticed that we like to support our home sports teams, so to continue in that tradition James and Kirk will be on hand at Game 5 on Sunday, June 14th. They'll be performing the National Anthem before the game as the Warriors resume their quest for the title back at home at Oracle Arena in Oakland, CA that night. Tune in to your local ABC station to watch the performance live, game time is 8:00 PM Eastern and GO DUBS!"

METALLICA currently has 10 dates on its calendar between now and mid-September, including this year's edition of Lollapalooza, which will take place at Grant Park in Chicago, on July 31, August 1 and August 2.

The band has reportedly been working on its tenth studio album, which will follow up 2008's "Death Magnetic".

METALLICA has made available for purchase a limited-edition box set containing 50 CDs that chronicle the band's tours of Australia and New Zealand in 2010 and 2013. The set features recordings of 62 different METALLICA originals and covers from 25 different shows, each on two discs, and retails for a hefty $395.

Despite insisting that work has been proceeding on a new CD, METALLICA has spent a lot of time outside the studio in the last year, with activities that included a string of European all-request shows last summer, a week-long residency on "The Late Show With Craig Ferguson", and a Rock In Rio USA stint.

BUTCHER BABIES Explain

BUTCHER BABIES Explain 'Take It Like A Man' Album Title

Los Angeles-based metallers BUTCHER BABIES will release their sophomore album, "Take It Like A Man", on August 21 via Century Media. The CD was produced by Logan Mader, who has previously worked with FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, DEVILDRIVER, CAVALERA CONSPIRACY and GOJIRA.

The first song to be released from "Take It Like A Man" is "Monsters Ball", which can be streamed below.

"We all come from different places and backgrounds, but every member of this band had to fight to be the person he or she is today," says BUTCHER BABIES co-vocalist Carla Harvey. "That's the whole basis for the record. It's not a gender thing. It's the inner strength you have to find in order to pull your boots up and keep moving forward, whatever the situation may be."

While penning lyrics, Shepherd and Heidi Shepherd also opened up like never before. Blatant, brutal, and (sometimes) belligerent honesty was the only rule.

"You have to dig to get that emotion out," explains Harvey. "Metalheads can sense authenticity. They know when you're real. Everything we write comes straight from the heart and our own experiences. It's not cookie-cutter bullshit."

That openness has already turned countless fans into believers. "Take It Like A Man" espouses an inspiring final word.

"We want to coerce feeling," Shepherd says. "If you're a musician who does that, you've succeeded. We just want to inspire anyone who listens to us — and melt their faces off."

Regarding the musical direction of BUTCHER BABIES' forthcoming CD, Carla said: "The majority of the album is very aggressive thrash metal. On this album, we wanted to go back to our roots, which were aggressive thrash, and ninety percent of the album is that."

Added Heidi: "But the thing is we're not ever gonna sacrifice who we are for that. What we're attempting with this is to bring back the metal and the aggression into radio. So we kind of… We merged the two worlds. And radio stations who have heard it so far are impressed and we're very excited for that."

BUTCHER BABIES kick off a massive European touring run at Download festival in the U.K. this weekend and then will join GWAR and BATTLECROSS for a North American tour from August 25 to September 18.

AEROSMITH

AEROSMITH's STEVEN TYLER Says His Bandmates Are 'Not Happy' He Is Recording Country Solo Album

In a brand new interview with RollingStone.com, AEROSMITH singer Steven Tyler was asked how he thinks his bandmates feel about what the fact that he is currently working on a country solo album in Nashville.

"I'm sure they're not happy," he responded. "But Joe [Perry, guitar] has done five solo albums. I just thought, 'Hey, it's my turn in the barrel.' This is a side project, which has now turned into a love of life. I think we got something here that the radio would love to play. Look, that's why I'm in it. I love to take the fucking power to wow to the 100th degree. It's just what I do."

Asked how everyone in AEROSMITH is getting along at this point, Tyler said: "Better than ever. There's always the past, but we try and keep the past out of it. When Joe gets up in my shit about something, I say, 'Don't squat with your spurs on.' It's a band, and it's a family. I'll do it until I come screeching to a halt, all broken and battered and can't stand up anymore. I'll scream, 'Yee-haw, what a ride!'"

Tyler also talked about the possibility of AEROSMITH recording another album, after Perry recently said he wasn't sure there would be a follow-up to 2012's "Music From Another Dimension!".

"I don't feel that way," Steven said. "The end product is always the song. That's the fulfillment and the joy. The only way out is through. Whether it's down the rabbit hole and making love to Alice, I'm always coming out of the rabbit hole — of course, after having a fight with the Queen of Hearts and the fucking Cheshire Cat. That's neither here nor there, but it certainly gives me a ton of stuff to write about."

AEROSMITH's summer tour includes a performance at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Concert For Legends on August 7 in Canton, Ohio.

NEIL FALLON Says CLUTCH

NEIL FALLON Says CLUTCH's 'Psychic Warfare' Album Will Be Released 'Third Week Of September'

In a brand new interview conducted earlier today (Friday, June 12) at the U.K.'s Download festival, vocalist Neil Fallon of Maryland rockers CLUTCH revealed that the band's new album, "Psychic Warfare", will be released "the third week of September" via the band's own label, Weathermaker Music. "It's got eleven songs on it, and it's probably faster than [2013's] 'Earth Rocker'," he added (see video below). "We wrote it pretty quickly after 'Earth Rocker', so we were, kind of, still in that headspace."

Songtitles set to appear on "Psychic Warfare" include "X-Ray Visions", "Firebird", "Quick Death In Texas", "Our Lady Of Electric Lights", "Monsters", "Decapitation Blues" and "Son Of Virginia".

The basic tracks and most of the guitars for "Psychic Warfare" were laid down at producer Machine's studio in Dripping Springs, Texas, while the remainder was recorded at CLUTCH's studio in Maryland.

In a recent interview with The Aquarian Weekly, CLUTCH drummer Jean-Paul Gaster stated about "Psychic Warfare": "There are some similarities in regards to 'Earth Rocker', and there are some songs on it that are sort of familiar, but we did some different stuff, too. There's stuff that is a little funkier, and there's other stuff that's a little more bluesy. So there's more diversity, I think."

Asked about the creative process in CLUTCH, Jean-Paul Gaster said: "The creative process really hasn't changed all that much. It's really just the four of us getting together and banging out jams, so to speak. We work on one or two parts at a time, and often we set those parts aside and work on something new. We'll do that for several months until we have a large pool of ideas to pull from. As we get closer to the recording process, we start to try to fix some of these parts and make them into songs. Sometimes the songs get cannibalized as well, like one song will sort of eat the other, in a way. And even then we have a lot of songs to choose from, so sometimes songs that we have been working on for months won't even end up on the record."

ALICE COOPER Dedicates His

ALICE COOPER Dedicates His 'Legend' Award To SIR CHRISTOPHER LEE

Alice Cooper was honored with the "Legend" award at this year's Kerrang! Awards, which were held Thursday night (June 11) in London, England. The ceremony took place at Troxy, where JUDAS PRIEST was also handed the "Inspiration" prize.

Speaking to Kerrang! after the event, Cooper dedicated his award to legendary actor Sir Christopher Lee, who died earlier this week at the age of 93.

"Christopher Lee was, like, an inspiration to every total rock guy out there," Alice said (see video below). "He was the best. Him and Vincent Price; we worked with those guys. I got to work with Vincent Price, and I knew Christopher Lee on a lot of diferent levels. We tried to do some songs together, but never quite got it together. But he was really a rocker. I mean, the guy was doing heavy metal albums. That's pretty hip."

Sir Christopher Lee last December released released his latest heavy metal single titled "Darkest Carols, Faithful Sing".

The single was a playful take on the Christmas classic "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" and included three different mixes of the song.

Christopher Lee became the oldest heavy metal artist at the age of 91. At Christmas 2013, the song "Jingle Hell" reached No. 18 on Billboard, making him the oldest performer in history to have charted. The record was previously held by Tony Bennett.

SLIPKNOT percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan was interviewed by TeamRock Radio earlier today (Friday, June 12) at the U.K.'s Download festival. You can now listen to the chat using the SoundCloud widget below. A couple of excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

On SLIPKNOT's current mindset:

"I think these days, as far as myself goes, I'm just trying to be the best man I can be. I'm just trying to be… You can always be a better father, you can always be a better husband, you can always be a better friend, a better bandmate… these kinds of things… So I think after all these years and this dedication and losing our brother Paul [Gray, late SLIPKNOT bassist], other things that have happened that have been devastating and mindblowing to what we do… I just try to look at my hands and realize that I have a good decision to make about something and a bad decision, and then it's kind of up to me to try to make the best one for myself, then, in return, my family, the fans… everybody. So these days I'm just trying to be the best I can be — for the band, for the fans, for… well, myself. And it makes the days go by better, and I feel like I get more accomplished. I'm kind of done with the way things used to be. It doesn't mean… I wouldn't change a thing, and I would never go do it again. You know what I mean?! I would never go back and change anything, I'm completely happy with where I am, but I've grown a lot, I've learned a lot, I've done a lot of self-reflecting, what it means to be the Clown, and what it means to be the Clown in a band called SLIPKNOT, and a father of four, husband of 23 years. My oldest is 24 now… So, life has changed, my art has changed, my mind has changed, my show has changed, I've changed… And it feels good, though. I like where I'm at. I like where the band's at. I like what we're doing. It's really nice to have the travel figured out, the hotels, and the rest, and the shows… It's just everything's really kind of grown up and matured, and I think that makes SLIPKNOT a hundred times more dangerous than anyone could ever really imagine."

On whether he ever thinks about things he has done in the past that he regrets or feels bad about:

"I think about that kind of stuff all the time, but I don't let it deter me away from my path. I'm on a path here, I'm on a mission. I think probably some of my best work is yet to come, 'cause I've gotta work harder. I used to just really design my art and my show and everything around my inner pain — whatever that is. It could be loneliness, it could be losing my parents, it could be boredom, it could be just fucking selfishness; it could be anything. But these days, like I said, I'm really fucking focused. I hate people more than ever; I hate this shit more than ever. You know… In true SLIPKNOT fashion… I'm just getting to be a grumpy old man, maybe. I don't know."

SLIPKNOT's "Summer's Last Stand" tour kicks off on July 24 in West Palm Beach, Florida, wrapping up six weeks later on September 5 in Dallas. Joining SLIPKNOT on the road trip will be LAMB OF GOD, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE and MOTIONLESS IN WHITE. The summer jaunt follows a brief spring run that SLIPKNOT launched on April 25 at the Fort Rock festival in Fort Myers, Florida, ending on May 16 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

SAMAEL

SAMAEL's VORPH Promises 'Some Surprises' On Next Album

LoudTV.net conducted an interview with vocalist Michael "Vorph" Locher of Swiss metallers SAMAEL on April 25 in Lille, France. You can now watch the chat below. A few excerpts follow (transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).

On SAMAEL's current plans:

"Right now, actually, we're still working on the new album. But we've got this formula that we sell to festivals this summer, playing [1994's] 'Ceremony Of Opposites' in its entirety. We did that already in Canada for four shows, and we're gonna do this next month in Switzerland. I think it's working well. What is interesting somehow is that we've got a new lineup, we've got a new bass player [Thomas 'Drop' Betrisey], and it's kind of interesting to revisit all the history together and be ready to make the next step."

On the departure of bassist Christophe "Mas" Mermod:

"You probably that he's working with a lot of different bands as a technician. He's got a company, and his wife is also working there, in Switzerland. So he was taking more and more time off, his schedule, and we had a conflict of schedule on a few occasions, and we kind of decided together that it was the best solution for both."

On whether SAMAEL's next album will be released through Nuclear Blast in Europe again:

"We did sign for a couple of albums. Actually, we own the rights since [2004's] 'Reign Of Light', so it's always like a licensing deal that we're doing. For the last album [2011's 'Lux Mundi'], that was Nuclear Blast in Europe and Season Of Mist in America. And this time we don't know yet, 'cause obligations, somehow, with Nuclear Blast are over. But, personally, I would be fine to do the next album [with] them. I don't know what's gonna be the option. We'll discuss this once we've got everything [ready to go]."

On the fan response to "Lux Mundi":

"The idea was, especially with 'Lux Mundi', to, kind of, cover everything we've done so far and have an album that represents us at this time. We tried to do this already with [2007's] 'Solar Soul' somehow, but I think 'Lux Mundi' goes further than that and, kind of, [encompassed] the whole thing. So there's no need to do that again. I mean, this idea for the new album is to make a new step, and we wanna have some new material, new ideas there. It will not be totally different, but, definitely, there will be some surprises."

On the progress of the songwriting sessions for the new SAMAEL album:

"The songs, they're almost finished. We need to record them, and to have the last touch, so to speak. But we've got the material for almost a year now. But Xy [Alexandre 'Xytras' Locher; drums] was working on different projects — he did some classical music for the city where we come from, and he had, kind of, a spectacle of lights and sounds. And they're gonna play this again this year, I think. So that, kind of, delayed the whole thing."

On when fans can expect to see the next SAMAEL album released:

"Well, let's see when it's recorded. I mean, the idea will be to record it… It won't be before the summer, but maybe during the summer, or just after. And then we'll see. I could imagine to have this early next year, or around this time [in 2016]."

SEBASTIAN BACH To Fans:

SEBASTIAN BACH To Fans: 'Put Your F**kin' Cellphone Away' And 'Be In The Moment'

In a brand new interview with SiouxCityJournal.com, former SKID ROW singer Sebastian Bach urged fans to keep their cellphones at the bottom of their pockets and just watch the performance when they come to see him next week during his June 20 concert at Awesome Biker Nights in Sioux City, Iowa.

"Be in the moment," said Bach. "You're distracted and it's distracting to the performer as well. Like, put your fuckin' cellphone away, dammit! You're never even going to watch that footage."

Bach went on to lament the fact that, according to T-Mobile, 47 percent of any given audience text others during a concert, while 32 percent engage in social media during a show. As a result, every single performance could be recorded and shared on YouTube almost immediately.

"If I go to a wedding and sing a song, it's on Blabbermouth the next day and everybody analyzes it," said Bach. "It's a really backwards way to watch a band. It's a drag sometimes when I go up there and the first thing I see is everybody getting their phones out and holding them toward my face. It makes you feel intimidated."

Bach said that he finds it impossible to stand still while singing in concert because adrenaline takes over, leaving him open to criticism by making it difficult for him to deliver pitch-perfect performances.

"I try to tell myself that but I can't do it," said Bach with a laugh. "The music gets in me and I want to move and jump. I don't want to stand there frozen like a tree and be filmed."

The singer recalled a VAN HALEN concert he saw where the band's frontman, Dave Lee Roth, "went out and yelled, 'I forgot the fuckin' words!' And we're like, 'Yeah! You forgot the fuckin' words!' We thought it was the greatest thing ever. We thought it was cool." In today's social-media world, however, such a faux pas would cause an immediate and swift backlash. "Give me a break," Bach said. "It's supposed to be fun."

In a 2013 interview with Metal Assault, Bach was asked how he manages to always put the same kind of energy into performing the SKID ROW classics, even after singing them live for the past 25 years.

"I just love music," he responded. "It makes me feel good and there's nothing like it in this world. So I've always really been into it. I want to keep making music until I'm not able to anymore. When you talk about the energy I put into running around on stage, I might run around a little less as the years go on, and sing standing still a little more. [Laughs] But I don't know if that’ll even happen, because when I get up there, the music takes me over and I just explode with energy. So it's hard to control."

VINNIE PAUL: European-Style Heavy Metal Festivals Wouldn

VINNIE PAUL: European-Style Heavy Metal Festivals Wouldn't Get Same Kind Of Support In America

Kerrang! Radio conducted an interview with HELLYEAH drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott and guitarist Christian Brady at this year's edition of the U.K.'s Download festival, which is being held this weekend in Donington Park. You can now watch the chat below.

Speaking about what it's like to perform at Download festival again, Vinnie Paul said: "It's incredible, dude. I tell people all the time back home, if we could have these kinds of festivals in the United States, it'd be amazing, but people just wouldn't support 'em like they do over here. People over here really love and embrace heavy metal and hard rock music, and they still… It still feels like '80s, the '90s, 2000 over here, because they just love the music, man. And it's so great to come and play for people here."

As previously reported, HELLYEAH guitarist Tom Maxwell broke his foot in three places and is not able to participate in the rest of the band's European tour. Vinnie Paul said: "We will carry on, with Chris Brady holding down the guitar force. Tom will rejoin us for [Rockstar Energy Drink] Mayhem [Festival this summer]."

HELLYEAH's latest album, "Blood For Blood", was the band's first release since parting ways with guitarist Greg Tribbett and bassist Bob "Zilla" Kahaha in 2013.

The new members of HELLYEAH are bassist Kyle Sanders and Christian Brady.

"Blood For Blood" sold around 17,000 copies in its first week of release to land at No. 18 on the Billboard chart.

Survey: Heavy Metal Fans Are 10 Times Less Likely To Cheat On Partners Than Jazz Lovers

Survey: Heavy Metal Fans Are 10 Times Less Likely To Cheat On Partners Than Jazz Lovers

Heavy metal fans are ten times less likely to cheat on their partners than jazz lovers, a new survey has found.

Victoria Milan — a dating web site for married and "attached" people seeking affairs — asked 6,558 of its members about their taste in music, and whether it made them think of their lover or their long-term partner.

The survey found that more than three quarters of cheaters think about their lover when they hear their favorite music, according to the Mirror.

Fans of jazz (19%), salsa (14%) and pop (13%) are most likely to cheat on their partner while listeners of indie music (3%) and heavy metal (2%) are less likely to stray.

Victoria Milan founder and CEO Sigurd Vedal said that music has the ability to conjure up images and feelings that need not necessarily be directly reflected in memory.

"As long-term relationships progress, the excitement and passion and fire slowly dies out and people start to look for that missing element outside their relationship," he said.

"The song you choose to listen to in your car as you go to meet your lover, or the music you are playing while you are intimate becomes much more touching than the music you walked down the aisle to ten years ago."

Cheaters surveyed by Victoria Milan listen to the following styles of music:

Jazz: 19%Salsa: 14%Pop: 13%Country: 12%Rap: 9%Classical music: 8%Blues: 6%Reggae: 5%Rock and roll: 5%Electronica: 4%Indie: 3%Heavy metal: 2%

BLACK VEIL BRIDES To Begin Work On New Album In The Winter

BLACK VEIL BRIDES To Begin Work On New Album In The Winter

MikeJamesRockShow.com conducted an interview with Los Angeles rockers BLACK VEIL BRIDES at the 2015 edition of the U.K.'s Download festival, which is being held this weekend in Donington Park. You can now watch the chat below.

Asked what is next for BLACK VEIL BRIDES after Download, the band's vocalist, Andy Biersack, responded: "You know what?! Honestly… Probably more of the same for us. And the fact that we want to continue to make records when we can. For us, we're gonna keep touring the rest of the cycle on this record and then go back and probably make another record in the winter… We're headlining the Warped tour this year, so that's really exciting. And then, after that, we're gonna do maybe one more tour. We might come back before the end of the year here in England. And then we're gonna take a couple of months off and probably start making a new record."

He continued: "We put out, I guess, coming up on our fifth record, and… So, I mean, we really like to write records and record records. I mean, it's fun for us. So, every time we think, 'Oh, after this one, we'll take a couple of years off,' six months go by and I'm, like, 'Ah, let's get back in the studio and make music.'"

BLACK VEIL BRIDES will release its first-ever concert DVD and Blu-ray, "Alive And Burning", on July 10. The cover artwork for the set was designed by the band's longtime friend and previous album cover illustrator Richard Villa.

"Alive And Burning" will feature footage of BLACK VEIL BRIDES' sold-out hometown show in Los Angeles at the Wiltern Theater on November 1, 2014. The concert was part of the group's inaugural Halloweekend event as part of "The Black Mass" tour. The DVD was directed by Casey Tebo, known for his work on the acclaimed AEROSMITH documentary "Rock For The Rising Sun".

BLACK VEIL BRIDES' latest, self-titled album skyrocketed to No. 1 on the iTunes Rock Chart, No. 4 on the iTunes overall album chart, and to Top 10 on iTunes in over 20 countries when it was released. It debuted at No. 10 on The Billboard 200 album chart, giving BLACK VEIL BRIDES their second consecutive Top 10 album.

"Black Veil Brides" was helmed by producer Bob Rock, whose resume includes albums by METALLICA, MÖTLEY CRÜE, THE CULT and many others.

RICHARD FORTUS: GUNS N

RICHARD FORTUS: GUNS N' ROSES Will Release New Music And Tour Next Year

During a brand new interview with Austria's Stormbringer webzine conducted on June 6 at the Rock In Vienna festival, GUNS N' ROSES and THE DEAD DAISIES guitarist Richard Fortus was asked about rumors that GN'R was working on the follow-up to "Chinese Democracy" and when fans can expect to see new activity from the Axl Rose-fronted band.

"We're gonna be doing stuff next year," Richard responded (see video below). "There's… We're not gonna have anything out this year. Yeah… Next year…. Next year, it should be out. And we'll be touring."

The last GUNS N' ROSES album, "Chinese Democracy", came out in 2008 and ended a 17-year gap between collections of all-new material.

Rose, guitarist D.J. Ashba and other members of the current lineup have hinted at material recorded during the "Chinese Democracy" sessions that has yet to surface.

"Chinese Democracy" re-entered The Billboard 200 chart in April 2011 after it was made available at BestBuy.com for a reduced price of $1.99.

Best Buy was the exclusive U.S. retailer for "Chinese Democracy", reportedly paying $14 million for 1.6 million copies. But the album was a major sales disappointment, moving less than 750,000 copies to date despite the curiosity and hype surrounding its release.

The CD was officially certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on February 3, 2009 for shipments in the United States in excess of one million copies.

"Chinese Democracy" came out 15 years after its predecessor, 1993's "The Spaghetti Incident". It took more than a decade to record, during which every original member of the band except Rose was replaced and four different producers were used. Rose is the only original member of GUNS N' ROSES still in the current lineup, which has toured intermittently since 2006 and played its second Las Vegas residency last year.

COREY TAYLOR:

COREY TAYLOR: 'I'm In SLIPKNOT. That Means I Have A Lot Of Problems.'

SLIPKNOT singer Corey Taylor was interviewed by Dasding radio on June 7 before the band's performance at this year's edition of the Rock Am Ring festival in Mendig, Germany. You can now watch the chat below.

Asked if he ever wishes he was 24 again, which is the age of SLIPKNOT's current drummer Jay Weinberg, or if he is happy being older and wiser, Taylor responded: "I tell you what: I would not wanna go back… Well, if I could retain the knowledge that I have now and go back into a 20-year-old body, I'd totally do it. But I'm pretty comfortable in my own skin. I'm pretty comfortable being 41 now. So… Maybe new knees… I don't know."

Asked if he has knee problems, Taylor replied: "Nah. Well, you know, I'm in SLIPKNOT. That means I have a lot of problems."

SLIPKNOT's "Summer's Last Stand" tour kicks off on July 24 in West Palm Beach, Florida, wrapping up six weeks later on September 5 in Dallas. CARCASS Drummer DANIEL WILDING

CARCASS Drummer DANIEL WILDING 'Would Love To' Record Follow-Up To 'Surgical Steel'

MikeJamesRockShow.com conducted an interview with drummer Daniel Wilding of reactivated British extreme metal pioneers CARCASS at the 2015 edition of the U.K.'s Download festival, which is being held this weekend in Donington Park. You can now watch the chat below.

Asked if there are plans for CARCASS to record a follow-up to 2013's "Surgical Steel" album, Wilding responded: "I mean, obviously, I'd love to, and Bill [Steer, guitar] is into it, and Jeff [Walker, bass/vocals] is into it, but it's just… it's just time, really, because, obviously, we're playing so much these days that we just wanna make the most of that first. And we don't wanna rush into another album after seventeen or eighteen years of no album. So, I think, the plan is just to, kind of, let it naturally take its course and see what happens. Obviously, I'd love to, so… Finger crossed. [Laughs] I really hope it happens, because I know… I mean, I don't write the stuff, but I know Bill and Jeff, they've got tons of ideas and all that stuff."

Wilding also spoke about the CARCASS's current lineup, which is completed by guitarist Ben Ash (PIG IRON, DESOLATION, LIQUEFIED SKELETON).

"I've been in the band four and a half yeas now, and Ben, the other guitar player, he's been in three years, I guess, so we're all, kind of, extended family now," he said. "I think it's cool that the band is… 'Cause, as a fan, before I joined, it's just great to see… Firstly, it's great to see them playing again, but also it's great to be in the band, obviously."

"Surgical Remission / Surplus Steel", a collection of previously unreleased and hard-to-find tracks from CARCASS, sold around 1,840 copies in the U.S. in its first week of release to land at position No. 27 on the Billboard Hard Rock chart. All the songs on the EP were recorded during the "Surgical Steel" sessions, which was produced by Colin Richardson (NAPALM DEATH, BOLT THROWER, GOREFEST, CANNIBAL CORPSE, SINISTER, RODRIGO Y GABRIELA) and mixed/mastered by Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, ACCEPT, EXODUS, TESTAMENT).

"Surgical Remission / Surplus Steel" was made available on physical and digital formats via Nuclear Blast.

"Surgical Steel" sold around 8,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 41 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was released on September 16, 2013 in the U.K., September 13, 2013 in the rest of Europe and September 17, 2013 in North America via Nuclear Blast Records.

PYOGENESIS – A Century In The Curse Of Time Cover Art Revealed

PYOGENESIS – A Century In The Curse Of Time Cover Art Revealed

After more than 13 years, Pyogenesis will release their new studio album A Century In The Curse Of Time on August 14 via AFM Records.

The artwork reflects the lyrical theme, which is about the change of 19th century's society under the influence of industrialization, steam-engine, emerging bourgeoisie and science fiction literature such as Jules Verne.

Pyogenesis commented about the cover art on their Facebook page: “Does anyone remember when you were a kid, listening to records by sitting on the bed with head phones on and looking at the cover for ages? Over and over again? That's exactly what we did. And we hope this record's cover is one of those. Which covers were the ones you loved as described above, when you were young? And is there anything you like in our cover here the most?”

DYSTOPIA Cover "Englishman In New York" By STING; Video Available

DYSTOPIA Cover "Englishman In New York" By STING; Video Available

Almost exactly one year after the release of their second record Way To Unfold, Hungarian prog-power metal band Dystopia have released a video to accompany their cover of Sting’s classic "Englishman In New York".

"In 2009, we played at the Hungarian Metalchamp talent show, and we had to choose two cover songs from two lists. We chose Black Sabbath’s 'Children Of The Grave' from the metal list, and after a long and painful discussion, we chose Sting’s 'Englishman In New York' from the pop classics list. There are many covers of that song but many of them are just like the original, so we wanted to make a real cover, a real interpretation of that awesome song in our style.

We rewrote it and left only a couple of memorable melodies and harmonies in the instrumental part of the song, though we kept the vocal parts of course. We really fell in love with it and it soon became a permanent piece of our setlist. The audience loved it very much, and ever since, people have been repeatedly asking us when we are going to record it.

So here we are! We did that, and we made a video for it as well. We plugged in our instruments, and played the song just the way Sting says in the lyrics: 'Be yourself, no matter what they say.' The song and the video has been recorded in Black Hole Sound, Szeged and was produced by Gábor Vári."

Sting's video for "Englishman In New York", from his 1987 album ...Nothing Like The Sun, can be seen below.
