HAMMERFALL: 'HAMMERFALL' Performance Clip From 'Gates Of Dalhalla' DVDSwedish melodic metallers HAMMERFALL will release a concert DVD+2CD and Blu-ray+2CD, "Gates Of Dalhalla", on November 30 via Nuclear Blast. The set will feature the band's extraordinary 135-minute 15th-anniversary show that took place on July 28 on the historic open-air stage Dalhalla, built in an old quarry near the small Swedish village Rättvik. The footage was captured by Swedish director Patric Ullaeus of the Revolver Film Company AB, who has previously worked with IN FLAMES, DIMMU BORGIR, EUROPE and LACUNA COIL, among many others.
Commented HAMMERFALL guitarist Oscar Dronjak: "The set contained 26 tracks and lasted two hours and 15 minutes, by far the longest and most comprehensive gig of our entire career! We played songs from every album and then some. There were lots of guests and pyros, and we had 80 Marshall cabinets and the big shield with the HF logo carved out in the middle hanging brought out of storage, all set in an extremely unique venue. You really have to see it to understand. This concert really captured the essence of HAMMERFALL live in 2012 very well!"
Special guests during the concert included original HAMMERFALL members Jesper Strömblad (IN FLAMES) and Mikael Stanne (DARK TRANQUILLITY), as well as ex-HAMMERFALL guitarist Stefan Elmgren.
Added Oscar: "Everything concerning this release is special: the venue, the occasion, the setlist, the guests. If you are going to celebrate something, do it properly, and this is exactly what we have done. HAMMERFALL with extra everything, 100% live, 0% bullshit."
The setlist for the concert was as follows:
01. Patient Zero
02. Heeding The Call
03. Any Means Necessary
04. B.Y.H.
05. Riders Of The Storm

The "Hammerfall" performance clip from "Gates Of Dalhalla" can be seen below.
The members of HAMMERFALL announced in March that they were take an extended break immediately following their festival appearances this summer.
"It has been an unbelievable first 15 years, to say the least," said guitarist Oscar Dronjak, "and now we are taking a pause to ensure that we have another 15 years ahead of us."
There will be no HAMMERFALL activities in 2013, but the band promises to return strong the following year. "The plan is to use the year off to recharge our batteries and come back more vital than ever with a new album in 2014," explained singer Joacim Cans.
HAMMERFALL's new album, "Infected", sold around 1,700 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD debuted at No. 16 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
HAMMERFALL's previous CD, "No Sacrifice, No Victory", opened with 1,400 units to land at No. 38 on the Top New Artist Albums chart.
"Infected" entered the official chart in Sweden at position No. 2 (right behind LADY GAGA!). The CD was released in Europe in May 2011 and was made available in North America in June via Nuclear Blast Records. Laying down the foundation themselves in their own studio in Sweden, the members of HAMMERFALL then traveled to Nashville, Tennessee to finish it up with acclaimed producer James Michael (MÖTLEY CRÜE, SCORPIONS, MEAT LOAF). He also mixed the album, giving it a decisive updated edge without losing any of the essence of the band's sound.
HAMMERFALL was among the five final nominees that competed for the "Best Hard Rock/Metal" honor at the Swedish Grammis awards (Swedish Grammy equivalent), which was held February 14, 2012 at Kungliga Operan in Stockholm.

In a recent interview with RockOverdose.gr, ROTTING CHRIST mainman Sakis Tolis stated about the band's new CD, "The album was recorded entirely by me, except, of course, the drums which were taken care of by my brother."
ROTTING CHRIST's last album, "Aealo", came out in March 2010. The CD sold around 400 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 144 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

LED ZEPPELIN: Full-Length 'Black Dog' Performance Clip From 'Celebration Day' Posted OnlineA full-length performance clip of the song "Black Dog" from LED ZEPPELIN's "Celebration Day", which documents the band's 2007 concert at London, England's O2 Arena, can be seen below.
The film made its U.S. debut at the historic Ziegfeld Theater in New York's theater district on October 9. Prior to the premiere, founding members John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page, and Robert Plant were joined by Jason Bonham, the son of their late drummer John Bonham, for a press conference at New York's Museum of Modern Art.
LED ZEPPELIN took the stage at London's O2 Arena on December 10, 2007 to headline a tribute concert for dear friend and Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun. What followed was a two-hour-plus tour de force of the band's signature blues-infused rock 'n' roll that instantly became part of the legend of LED ZEPPELIN. Although 20 million people applied for tickets, the band's first headline show in 27 years was seen only by the 18,000 ticket holders who were fortunate enough to have secured seats through the worldwide lottery.
The film of "Celebration Day" saw a worldwide theatrical release by Omniverse Vision on 1,500 screens in over 40 territories on October 17.
"Celebration Day" will then be available in multiple video and audio formats on November 19 from Swan Song/Atlantic Records. Available for pre-order now, the details on all configurations of "Celebration Day" are listed below.
* Standard Editions – 1-DVD/2-CD set and 1-Blu-ray/2-CD set

* Digital Edition – Audio will be available at all digital retail outlets
LED ZEPPELIN met with the press on September 21 in London to launch "Celebration Day". The band was adamant about not addressing any reunion rumors — despite the fact that they were promoting a film of their last reunion. When asked if the band would be performing together again, Jimmy Page told a reporter: "Let me ask you a question. Have you seen the film? Did you enjoy it? Then we've done our job, haven't we?" When asked if ZEPPELIN would "do it again," Plant cracked: "With you?"
Page told the press that he was thrilled with Jason Bonham's performance filling in for his late father, John Bonham, saying, "Jason was absolutely monumental. From the very first rehearsal right through to the O2." Plant added: "It was appropriate and it was wonderful and also his vigor was so fantastic too. He drove us, y'know? It was peculiar and strange at times, but at the same time it was very rewarding for all of us."
Plant went on to talk about the band's relationship these days: "We don't see each other too often, but we've just spent about an hour together. . .and no sooner we start talking, than some little innuendo creeps in. It's just what happens when you've spent a lot of time together."
When asked why it took five years for the 2007 reunion concert to see the light of day, John Paul Jones joked: "Five years is like five minutes in ZEPPELIN time."

STONE SOUR: 'Absolute Zero' Video Released"Absolute Zero", the new video from STONE SOUR, can be seen below. The song comes off the band's new album, "House of Gold & Bones - Part 1", which sold 31,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 7 on The Billboard 200 chart.
"'Absolute Zero' is the anti-hero anthem of 'House of Gold & Bones - Part 1'," STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor tells RollingStone.com. "It essentially lets you know that the hero isn't perfect, but he will do whatever is necessary. The video is loosely based on the fact that in the short story, the hero ends up in a very strange world and he has to figure out what's going on and what he'll do."
"House of Gold & Bones" is being made available as a double album and a four-issue comic book.
Like the story, the "House Of Gold & Bones" album package comes in two parts. When the two pieces meet, they combine to create the "House Of Gold & Bones".
"House of Gold & Bones - Part 1" track listing:
01. Gone Sovereign
02. Absolute Zero
03. A Rumor Of Skin
04. The Travellers Part 1
05. Tired
06. RU486
07. My Name Is Allen
08. Taciturn
09. Influence Of A Drowsy God
10. The Travellers Part 2
11. Last Of The Real
"House of Gold & Bones - Part 2" is due in 2013.
Taylor recently told Artisan News that he would like to see the band's new conceptual record be adapted as a movie as well. He said, "Once we've toured and we've got the music out to everyone, the thing I really wanna do is have two movies — Part 1 and Part 2. With the comic and the story and the music, I think we'll be able to do it. I already know who I wanna talk to about doing it, so we'll see what happens."
Taylor did not say who he would like to direct the movie, or if it would be produced through Living, Breathing Films, the production company he and SLIPKNOT percussionist Clown launched earlier this year.
He told The Pulse Of Radio at the time why he and Clown decided to get into the movie business. "It's something that we're very passionate about, you know," he said. "We have the same passion for film as we do for music and it's really just our way of kind of, you know, learning the business and once we learn a little more, you know, we get a few projects under our belt and we're gonna start accepting scripts and developing our own scripts, and I think it's gonna be something that's really cool."
The comic book version of "House Of Gold & Bones" will debut on April 17, 2013. The four-issue series will be published by Dark Horse Comics and will visualize the sci-fi short story that forms the basis of the albums.

TODD LA TORRE-Fronted Version Of QUEENSRŸCHE Releases First Trailer For Forthcoming AlbumThe first trailer for the forthcoming album from the Todd La Torre-fronted version of QUEENSRŸCHE can be seen below. The group is scheduled to enter the studio in December to begin recording the CD for a tentative early 2013 release via an as-yet-undetermined record label.
In a posting on his official Facebook page, La Torre — who is also a member of Florida melodic metallers CRIMSON GLORY — wrote earlier this month, "[I am] listening to our demos and finishing arrangements, etc.
"Trust me, you will hear a severe difference in sound, style, and writing in the new QUEENSRŸCHE record as compared to the last several albums.
"We are very proud of what is being accomplished, and we hope the fans will find it refreshing. It's got some prog elements, heaviness, soul, darkness, and even something very radio-worthy.
"[I] can't wait to have this out early next year!"
In a recent interview with Metal-Rules.com, QUEENSRŸCHE drummer Scott Rockenfield stated about how the addition of La Torre and guitarist Parker Lundgren has affected the musical direction of the band's new material. "I think we've just found a good chemistry between the five of us," he said. "I mean, Michael [Wilton, guitar], Eddie [Jackson, bass] and I have had chemistry for such a long time, and Parker has been with us now for many years, playing our old material. And we're always thinking and looking at the future, and we've talked about what to do and how to do it, and rolling Todd into the equation, he's just stepped in and fit the role of what QUEENSRŸCHE wants to achieve and what we wanna do."
He added, "The proof will be in the pudding when everybody can hear it when it finally comes out. But I think our fans are gonna be really pleasantly surprised and they're gonna have something that I think they're gonna consider some good work by us that they've been missing for quite a while."
Speaking to a radio station in June, La Torre stated about QUEENSRŸCHE's plans to record new original music, "Obviously, we wanna try and write something that's heavy, but also has a common thread of what is QUEENSRŸCHE's sound — very melodic guitar parts. Vocally, I'm in a very unique position because a lot of people like to throw around, 'Oh, he's a clone, he's an imitator, he's this, he's that.' And I feel like I'm damned if I do and I'm damned if I don't.
"My style of singing and phrasing is very similar to [that of original QUEENSRŸCHE singer] Geoff Tate and Bruce Dickinson and Rob Halford. I mean, a lot of my high metal screams are grittier and dirtier, like Rob Halford. My vibrato is more similar to Bruce Dickinson or Geoff Tate. A lot of the crying and ways of entering a vocal phrase and phonating, the way I say words, are very similar to Geoff Tate.
"I wear my influences on my sleeve, but I also think that I have a heavier vibe than Geoff Tate ever had. With a lot of the heavier, gritty, thrashier metal style… I mean, I love to do some of the death growls like Chuck Billy [TESTAMENT] does. Is that QUEENSRŸCHE sound? No. But if they want it kicked up and give it a heavier edge, I think that I have that, and that's something that Geoff Tate never did. Not taking anything away from him, but I think I do show a wide range of versatility."
Tate, who was fired from QUEENSRŸCHE in June after fronting the group for three decades, recently sought to prevent his former bandmates from touring and operating under the QUEENSRŸCHE name without him. While ruling against Tate, the presiding judge determined that there was no legal hurdle in Tate also using the name with an all-new lineup of musicians. "I don't see any reason that Mr. Tate can't have the benefit, if he gets other members, of whatever name he uses of using the brand," Superior Court Judge Carol A. Schapira said during the July 13 court hearing. "I think [doing that would be] inherently confusing, although I'm sure the market can get these things sorted out," she added.
On September 2, Tate announced that he was launching his own version of QUEENSRŸCHE with RATT drummer Bobby Blotzer, former QUIET RIOT, OZZY OSBOURNE and WHITESNAKE bassist Rudy Sarzo and former MEGADETH and KING DIAMOND guitarist Glen Drover. Also on board in the new group are returning QUEENSRŸCHE guitarist Kelly Gray — who played with the band from 1998 until 2001 and also produced several of their albums — and keyboardist Randy Gane, who has toured and recorded with QUEENSRŸCHE and Geoff's solo group in the past.

New NIGHTWISH Touring Singer FLOOR JANSEN Postpones Release Of Second REVAMP AlbumREVAMP, the band led by former AFTER FOREVER and current NIGHTWISH touring vocalist Floor Jansen, has released the following statement:
"Due to the changed situation in which singer Floor joined NIGHTWISH on their world tour and summer festivals, the band has decided to postpone the release.
"The new album deserves full attention, and with the schedule as it is today, it is not possible to do enough shows, tours and festivals.
"REVAMP wants to release the album in the fall of 2013. The exact date and more info about the possible tours will come as soon as possible. The recording of the album stays as scheduled and will start in December of this year."
An 11-minute video clip in which members of REVAMP answer fan-submitted questions about their forthcoming second album — filmed this past September — can be seen below.
REVAMP returned to the live stage in January at Metropool in Hengelo, The Netherlands as the support act for EPICA.
Video footage of REVAMP performing a brand new song, entitled "Sins", during the concert can be seen below.
Jansen appeared at Carioca Club in São Paulo, Brazil in November 2011 as a special guest of MAYAN, the band featuring EPICA/ex-AFTER FOREVER guitarist/songwriter Mark Jansen alongside Jack Driessen (ex-AFTER FOREVER) and Frank Schiphorst. Floor Jansen: Songwriter/Singer
Arjan Rijnen: Guitar

HATEBREED: 'Put It To The Torch' Lyric Video ReleasedThe official lyric video for the song "Put It To The Torch" from Connecticut hardcore/metal masters HATEBREED can be seen below. The track comes off the band's new studio album, "The Divinity Of Purpose", which will be released on January 29, 2013 in North America via Razor & Tie and on January 25, 2013 in Europe through Nuclear Blast. The CD was co-produced by HATEBREED, Chris "Zeuss" Harris (SUICIDE SILENCE, ALL THAT REMAINS, SHADOWS FALL) and Josh Wilbur (LAMB OF GOD, AVENGED SEVENFOLD), with Wilbur also handling mixing duties. The cover artwork was created and illustrated by Eliran Kantor (TESTAMENT, ATHEIST, SIGH, ANACRUSIS, GWAR) and can be seen below.
Commented HATEBREED front man Jamey Jasta: "I'm pumped for everyone to check out our new song.
"Thanks to all of our fans for the continuous support! We're super-excited to release new music and hit the road hard in 2013!"
Regarding the musical direction of the new HATEBREED material, Jasta told "Maximum Threshold", "We did enough experimenting, I think, on the last record… A lot of people really liked that record and it did gain us a lot of new fans, but on this record, with the 10-year anniversary of [HATEBREED's 2002 album] 'Perseverance' and with Wayne [Lozinak, guitar] being back in the band — this will be his second record with us — it's just fun to kind of keep with the old-school influences. I hear more CRO-MAGS and KILLING TIME and SHEER TERROR and OBITUARY and BOLT THROWER and SLAYER and ENTOMBED and those kind of '80s and '90s influences in there. Which is fun for us, because we emulate the bands that we love. We try to make it our own sound and make it our own style, but at the end of the day, we're just fans of those styles of bands."
"The Divinity Of Purpose" will be supported by extensive global touring that will stretch well into 2014.
HATEBREED is currently on the road with LAMB OF GOD, IN FLAMES and SYLOSIS and will headline the Persistence Tour 2013 in Europe in January.

VIRUS: New Song Available For Streaming"Inverted Escape", a brand new song from Norway's avant-garde metallers VIRUS, can be streamed below. The track comes off the band's upcoming mini-CD, "Oblivion Clock", which will be released to coincide with their upcoming European tour alongside VULTURE INDUSTRIES, KRAKOW and MONDVOLLAND in December.
Formed in 2000 by guitarist and frontman Carl-Michael "Czral" Eide (AURA NOIR, ULVER, SATYRICON, DØDHEIMSGARD, CADAVER), along with bass player Petter "Plenum" Berntsen (AUDIOPAIN) and drummer Einar "Einz" Sjursø (LAMENTED SOULS, INFERNÖ, BEYOND DAWN), VIRUS takes the original elements of Czral's former avant-garde black metal band VED BUENS ENDE and channels them towards a weirder and less metal direction. Czral's unique dissonant guitar style and song writing has ensnared listeners the world over. Listeners who have found themselves at times times puzzled, but always fascinated, by the band's three critically acclaimed albums and live performances (as a five-piece).

WHITESNAKE Frontman Answers Fan-Submitted Questions - Part 5 (Video)The latest episode of Whitesnake TV, in which WHITESNAKE frontman David Coverdale answers video questions from his fans about his life, music and career, can be seen below.
In a recent interview with Albania's Top Channel web site, Coverdale was asked what fans can expect from the band in the near future. "I am always reticent to discuss in detail what we're planning as I still enjoy 'surprises.'"
He continued, "In this day and age, with global technology and overwhelming social media, it is getting harder and harder to keep anything secret until they are ready to be presented. We host a very interactive global web site with Whitesnake.com and I answer people's questions as much as I can without giving too much away."
"We are very, very active this year behind the scenes. Many exciting things in the pipeline. Two projects I can tell you about are related to completing the 'Forevermore' project. An in-concert DVD from last year's tour and also a double live CD featuring different shows. It's shaping up very well indeed and I think a lot of people will enjoy re-living the concert experience they had with us in 2011. We have also started Whitesnake TV, which is off to a fantastic start and seems to be making a lot of people happy."
Asked if WHITESNAKE will tour next year, Coverdale said, "There are plans to start in Europe in May, I heard, but as yet there is nothing concrete. But, of course, we hope to be out there again. We have too much fun with audiences to stay at home for too long!"
Regarding whether all his plans involve WHITESNAKE, or if fans can expect any other collaborations or solo projects, Coverdale said, "WHITESNAKE is my priority and at this time I have no other plans to collaborate with other artists. But, you know rock and roll… Everything can change with a phone call."

TED NUGENT/Ex-DOKKEN Drummer Pleads Guilty To Driving Golf Cart While DrunkAccording to WABI-TV, drummer Mick Brown (TED NUGENT, DOKKEN) pleaded guilty Tuesday to OUI (operating under the influence of intoxicants) in connection with an incident this past summer when he allegedly drove drunk in a golf cart in Bangor, Maine. He was fined $1,000.
In exchange for the guilty plea, three other charges — driving to endanger, theft and assault — were dropped.
Brown, 55, was arrested on July 8 after allegedly stealing a golf cart and driving it recklessly while under the influence. Several people had attempted to stop him but he sped away and was last seen operating the golf cart on the foot path by the Sea Dog restaurant. Officer Steve Jordan reported that about a minute later he observed the golf cart with two women also on board near the Railroad Street grade crossing. As they attempted to stop Brown, he accelerated past them, past a third officer and when a security officer got close enough to stop him, Brown allegedly shoved the officer. At that point two other security officers physically removed Brown from the cart and placed him on the ground. He was arrested. No damage was reported to the cart although two traffic cones were damaged, one still under the cart, significantly so.
TED NUGENT was in Bangor on July 8 for a performance at the Bangor Waterfront Pavilion with STYX and REO SPEEDWAGON.

NIGHTWISH Mainman Says No Decision Regarding New Singer Will Be Made Before 2014Finnish television channel Nelonen's news program "Nelosen Uutiset" last week conducted a short interview with Tuomas Holopainen, keyboardist and main songwriter of the Finnish symphonic metal band NIGHTWISH. You can watch the segment below. An English-language translation follows.
Q: So, you have a temporary singer in the band now [Dutch vocalist Floor Jansen of REVAMP and AFTER FOREVER]. When are you going to reveal who is the permanent new singer of NIGHTWISH and how are you going to pick her?
Tuomas: "If only I knew. We have agreed with Floor that we'll perform the concerts that have been already scheduled through the end of next summer and we'll enjoy ourselves. The feeling in the band is amazing at the moment. But what happens after that and whether Floor will continue, we don't even want to think about yet. Anything is possible, but nothing will be decided before 2014."
Q: What kind of differences of opinion were there between the band and the former singer, Anette Olzon?
Tuomas: "Now we are touching on a subject that we don't want to discuss anymore. Everything we wanted to say was in the statement we gave month ago. So let's just leave it at that."
Jansen made her live debut as the frontwoman of NIGHTWISH on October 1 at Showbox Sodo in Seattle, Washington.
Floor handled lead-vocal duties on NIGHTWISH's recent North American and U.K. tours after the group parted ways with Olzon at the end of September.
In a blog post on her official web site at FloorJansen.com, Floor said, "It is now 10 years ago I joined NIGHTWISH on tour with AFTER FOREVER as their support act. We stayed in touch ever since and that made the whole situation so much easier and smooth."
Olzon joined NIGHTWISH in 2007 as the replacement for Tarja Turunen after the latter was fired in 2005.
NIGHTWISH stated about the sudden singer switch, "In recent times it has become increasingly obvious that the direction and the needs of the band were in conflict, and this has led to a division from which we cannot recover."
They added, "We are all strongly committed to this journey, this vehicle of spirit, and we are sure that this will lead to a brighter future for everyone.
"We forever remain excited about the adventures to come, and we are extremely proud of the two beautiful albums and the wonderful shows we shared together."

RUSH: Deluxe Editions Of '2112' DetailedIn time for 21/12 celebrations, Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) will release deluxe editions of RUSH's landmark album "2112" that will feature 5.1 Surround Sound mixes, unreleased live tracks and the first-ever RUSH comic book, available globally starting December 18.
There will be three configurations of "2112": deluxe editions (CD/DVD and CD/Blu-ray) and a special super deluxe edition (CD/Blu-ray/hardbound book case). The deluxe editions contain a CD/DVD or CD/Blu-ray material including the remastered "2112" CD with three live bonus tracks and a DVD or Blu-ray disc with a 5.1 Surround Sound audio mix and an interactive digital comic book, a new album cover by original album designer Hugh Syme, liner notes and unpublished photos.
The super deluxe contains the CD/Blu-Ray and is meticulously assembled in a hardbound bookcase packed with a 40-page comic book representing every song on "2112".
For the complete details, visit Rush.com.
"Every album is a point in RUSH's history," Geddy Lee said in 1978. "And if it's not getting better, something's wrong. Every album has to be the perfect RUSH album."
"The first record," Alex Lifeson says about '2112', "where we sounded like RUSH."
Originally released in 1976, RUSH's epic, landmark release "2112" was their creative and commercial breakthrough as well as one of the band's most highly regarded releases among both fans and critics alike. With lyrics written by Neil Peart, and influenced by author Ayn Rand, "2112" kicks off with the ambitious seven-suite title track (side one), set in a futuristic world run by the "Priests Of The Temples Of Syrinx" who regulate "every single facet of every life," which includes books, music, work and play. "2112" conveys the story of humanity's instinctual, inner need for one's free will.
After the mythological journey through "2112", side two brings you back to the present and continues with five stand-alone tracks. From hard-rocking tracks such as "A Passage to Bangkok", "Lessons", and a trip to into the fourth dimension with "The Twilight Zone", to the album's soaring conclusion, "Something For Nothing", "2112" is the album that ushered in the next stage in their continuing evolution as artists.

INNERSIEGE Signs With ROXX RECORDSPeoria, Illinois-based power metallers INNERSIEGE have inked a deal with Roxx Records. The band's debut full-length album, "Kingdom Of Shadows", will be released on December 11.
According to a press release, "INNERSIEGE are proud to wear that Euro-influenced power metal title on their sleeve citing such bands as FIREWIND, KAMELOT, DREAM EVIL and IRON MAIDEN as some of their influences. The band's debut is a concept album like no other, comparisons are already being made to such landmark conceptual albums as 'Operation: Mindcrime' by QUEENSRŸCHE. But they are no copycats; as familiar as their sound may be, this album is prepared to take the listener to a new level and on a whole new journey of the mind.
"To insure their debut album hits hard and leaves an everlasting impression on the world, the band has enlisted some key forces in the power metal community to bring this release to life. Brought in to the project to mix and master the new release was none other than Fredrik Nordström of DREAM EVIL, who has also worked with such acts as IN FLAMES, OPETH and DIMMU BORGIR, just to name a few. Also recruited to bring 'Kingdom Of Shadows' to life through the brilliant cover artwork was multi-talented Brazilian/Potuguese graphic designer Gustavo Sazes, who has done artwork for many artists through the years including the likes of such fine artists as FIREWIND, KAMELOT, DREAM EVIL and even ARCH ENEMY."

DIRGE ETERNAL Parts Ways With SingerFinnish horror metallers DIRGE ETERNAL, who feature former TURISAS bassist Hannes Horma on guitar, have announced the departure of their singer, Jani Perta.
Commented the band: "There has been a lot going on in the band lately and everyone agrees that taking this band to the next level is not possible with the current lineup. Jani made the decision himself, so there is no firing involved or any other hard feelings.
"Jani will do the shows already scheduled for this year, but after that we hope to have a new singer onboard. DIRGE ETERNAL thanks Jani for all the great times together and wishes luck in all the future endeavors. You will find the way, just stay at it!!!"
DIRGE ETERNAL earlier in the year completed work on the "Under The Spell" EP at Sound Supreme Studio in Hämeenlinna, Finland. In addition to playing lead guitar on the CD, Horma served as engineer and producer during the sessions.
"Under The Spell"'s release was celebrated with a performance on May 5 at Escape in Riihimäki, Finland.
DIRGE ETERNAL's second music video, "The Slaughterhouse", was premiered on May 4 at the Biorex movie theater in Hämeenlinnna.

HELLOWEEN: First Part Of 'Straight Out Of Hell' Cover Artwork UnveiledGerman power metallers HELLOWEEN will release their new album, "Straight Out Of Hell", in Europe on January 18 and in North America on January 22, 2013. The cover artwork — which was once again created by Martin Häusler, who previously worked with the band on the "7 Sinners" and "Gambling With The Devil" CDs — is being revealed in four parts over a four-day period starting today. Check out the first part below. The band states, "The cover literally is the bomb!"
"Straight Out Of Hell" is described in a press release as "a work full of speed and toughness, with optimism and great joy of playing, featuring complex arrangements, strong hooks and plenty of catchy melodies. Or, to let the facts speak for themself: 13 mostly fast-paced songs that turn out to be impressively multi-layered and will completely delight all HELLOWEEN fans, due to the different songwriters Andi Deris, founding members Michael Weikath and Markus Grosskopf, and guitarist Sascha Gerstner."
Says Weikath: "'Straight Out Of Hell' is the consequent development of the two albums before. '7 Sinners' was recorded more or less in the wake of 'Gambling With The Devil', while the new songs are a continuation of the '7 Sinners' directives, only a little less doom bound and noticeably more positive. These songs will kick even the laziest listener's ass."
HELLOWEEN recently completed work on the video for the CD's first single, the six-minute opus "Nabataea".
"Straight Out Of Hell" track listing:
01. Nabataea
02. World Of War
03. Live Now!
04. Far From The Stars
05. Burning Sun
06. Waiting For The Thunder
07. Hold Me In Your Arms
08. Wanna Be God
09. Straight Out Of Hell
10. Asshole
11. Years
12. Make Fire Catch The Fly
13. Church Breaks Down
Limited-edition bonus tracks:
14. Another Shot Of Life
15. Burning Sun (Hammond version; dedicated to Jon Lord)
On the live front, meanwhile, HELLOWEEN (fresh from appearing at prestigious Japanese festival Loud Park) will be returning to the road in March 2013 — the first part of a world tour set to kick off in mainland Europe, with GAMMA RAY as special guests. The follow-up to the "Hellish Rock" tour of 2007/2008, this extended outing ("Hellish Rock Part II") will bring the band to the U.K. on April 16 for a one-off date at the London Forum.

SOUNDGARDEN Performs On 'Late Show With David Letterman', Unleashes 'King Animal'SOUNDGARDEN releases its first album in 16 years, titled "King Animal", on Tuesday (November 13). The disc is the first collection of all-new studio material since 1996's "Down On The Upside" and the first fresh recordings by the legendary Seattle grunge act since they reunited in 2010. Drummer Matt Cameron told The Pulse Of Radio that the band deliberately stayed away from anything that would put pressure on the group — like a record label — and just had fun recording. "You know, it was kind of cool just to go in there and just record for ourselves, basically," he said. "We knew that our fans would like it, and we just wanted to try to make a record that would stand up with the rest of our catalog. I think the only pressure we put was on ourselves, or from ourselves, and yeah, it was kind of nice, like, not having that added pressure of any kind of label interference."
In a review posted on Monday (November 12), Loudwire said that "King Animal" "settles in nicely, picking up right where the band left off so many years ago and taking care of a lot of unfinished business."
The review added that the disc "offers up an eclectic mix of visual imagery, thought provoking prose, all set to a timeless soundscape of flourishing rock with a reminiscent feel."
Earlier this week the band unveiled the details of a winter 2013 North American tour that will kick off on January 18 in Washington DC and feature a number of two-night stops in cities like New York, Toronto, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles and the group's hometown of Seattle.
SOUNDGARDEN will also play three "intimate" North American shows this month to celebrate the release of "King Animal", in New York City on Tuesday, in Toronto on November 16 and in Los Angeles on November 27.
The band also performed on Monday night (November 12) on CBS-TV's "Late Show With David Letterman", with a longer performance on his "Live From Letterman" webcast.

MOTIONLESS IN WHITE: 'Devil's Night' Video Released"Devil's Night", the new Cody Blue Snider-directed video from the Scranton, Pennsylvania-based metalcore sextet MOTIONLESS IN WHITE, can be seen below. The song comes off the band's sophomore album, "Infamous", which was released today (Tuesday, November 13) via Fearless Records.
"'Infamous' pays a lot more attention to real life, this time," explains MOTIONLESS IN WHITE lead singer Chris Motionless. "It's not about movie characters like a lot of [2010's] 'Creatures' was."
He continues, "I don't want to make music to just exist, I want to make music that makes a fucking difference. So this record is straight up, non-fiction and reflects how I feel about things being sung through not only my eyes, but those of fans and people in general.
"As much as I love not taking music entirely seriously all the time, I do feel at this point, we have an obligation to remain a band that's doing something positive and putting out the right kind of message."
He concludes by issuing this warning: "You have NO idea what you are about to hear, in the best way possible."
"Infamous" track listing:
01. Black Damask (The Fog)
02. Devil's Night
03. A-M-E-R-I-C-A
04. Burned At Both Ends
05. The Divine Infection
06. Puppets 2 (The Rain) (feat. Björn "Speed" Strid of SOILWORK)

BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi clarified the status of the band's new album in an interview with "The Blairing Out With Eric Blair Show". Although it has been reported that the band has recorded 15 songs, Iommi explained, "That's wrong . . . We've written 15 songs and we've played them all. But now, at the moment, we're recording them. We recorded them at my house first, in England, just as demos, but now we're doing them for real. So we're about six tracks in now, at the moment."
Iommi, Ozzy Osbourne and bassist Geezer Butler are recording their first album together under the SABBATH name since 1978's "Never Say Die".
The drums on the disc are being handled by Tommy Clufetos, who has replaced founding drummer Bill Ward due to a contractual dispute between Ward and the rest of the group.
Asked if there is any chance of Ward rejoining the band, Iommi said, "We'll always have a heart for Bill, but I think it's gone past that now, because it's gone on so long that I don't see that happening at the moment. Maybe at some point we might [play together again]."
Meanwhile, SABBATH has announced an Australian tour for next April and has also revealed that it will headline the first-ever Japanese version of Ozzfest on May 11-12, with SLIPKNOT also on the bill.

ETHS: First Performance Footage Of New Touring LineupMarseille, France-based metalcore band ETHS has recruited Virginie Goncalves (KELLS) and Nelly Wood-Hasselhoff to handle lead vocals at the group's current shows following the recent departere of Candice Clot.
The first performance footage of the new ETHS lineup can be seen below.
Clot played her final show as a member of ETHS on October 13 at L'Arcade in Notre-Dame-de-Gravenchon, France.
Candice announced her decision to leave ETHS in September, explaining in a statement, "I made this choice for personal and family reasons."
She added, "I can't live unconditionally for music and its listeners anymore. Although the stage remains an outlet, I can't live up to such a demanding job anymore.
"I have been living for music for the past 15 years and it has given me back so much, but there are now things I can't sacrifice anymore and I need to take care of my family and stay with them.
"The band wants to go on, as the guys are still burning with a rage and a motivation that I don't have anymore.
"You can't cheat with things that have to come from your heart, body and soul.
"I am begging you to keep ETHS and the people who will replace me close to your hearts.
"This is the end of a chapter, but you have to give a chance to novelty and change.
"I am definitely not irreplaceable.
"Until the band finds a permanent successor, two people will share the vocal duties and I asked my friend Virginie from KELLS (please be nice to her) to be one of them.
"I wish to thank all those who have been supporting us since our early days in 1999, our friends, people from the music business who believe in ETHS and, of course, the fans without whom nothing would have ever been possible. ETHS' fans are so kind-hearted and gave me so much love and gratitude along the years that I will cherish those memories forever. I have been through wonderful times thanks to you and have been keeping all gifts and notes in a box. Thank you again.
"I guess you will ask me a lot of questions regarding my departure but please respect my silence. I told you all you need to know.
"Last but not least, I wish to thank ETHS and the music, which taught me so much about surpassing oneself, willpower, tolerance, writing and all the things that made me become the person I am today."
ETHS' third album, "III", was released on April 6 via Season Of Mist. The CD was recorded at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden with producer Fredrik Nordström, who has previously worked with AT THE GATES, IN FLAMES, DARK TRANQUILLITY, ARCH ENEMY, SOILWORK and BRING ME THE HORIZON, among others.

CANDLEMASS And ENTOMBED To Celebrate SWEDEN ROCK MAGAZINE's 100th IssueSweden Rock Magazine, Scandinavia's biggest hard rock magazine and Sweden's top-selling music magazine, has joined forced with two of the country's most legendary metal bands. UGLY KID JOE: 'I'm Alright' Video Released"I'm Alright", the new video from reunited hard rockers UGLY KID JOE, can be seen below. The track comes off the band's latest EP, "Stairway To Hell" which was released digitally on June 5 and physically on July 9. The CD heralds UGLY KID JOE's return, containing songs spanning the full repertoire of influences which made UGLY KID JOE one of the prime soundtracks for young snowboarders, surfers, keggers and characters worldwide. Whether it's "Devil’s Paradise", with it's hypnotic riffery and hook line, grooving and grinding its hips seductively, the melodic power-fueled darkness of "No One Survives" or the irrepressibly memorable chug-and-chorus of "I'm Alright" it's clear that UGLY KID JOE have everything they started with plus fatter chops and a (frankly) superior curve on songwriting.
UGLY KID JOE frontman Whitfield Crane told Neuweltmusic earlier this month, "17 years ago, we were excited to prove ourselves with our new, heavy music. Sometimes we'd leave 'Cat's In The Cradle' or 'Everything About You' out of the set. That was understandable in the sense of wanting to prove ourselves — it was also childish. It drove me crazy, but now it's all good. Now in 2012, we embrace both our sides. They're part of our dynamic and our history."
"Stairway To Hell" track listing:
01. Devil's Paradise
02. You Make Me Sick
03. No One Survives
04. I'm Alright
05. Love Ain't True! (feat. Angelo Moore and Dirty Walt of FISHBONE)
06. Another Beer
UGLY KID JOE released three full-length albums and toured extensively throughout the 1990s before disbanding in 1997.

SAIGON KICK's Original Lineup Rehearses For First Time In 20 YearsThe original lineup of the acclaimed 1990s rock band SAIGON KICK — Matt Kramer (vocals), Phil Varone (drums), Jason Bieler (guitar) and Tom Defile (bass) — rehearsed for the first time yesterday (Monday, November 12) in Southern Florida in preparation for a string of reunion dates that have yet to be announced. They are being joined by another returning SAIGON KICK member, bassist Chris McLernon, who will handle rhythm-guitar duties on the road.
Commented Kramer: "Twenty years later, the first day of the all-original-SAIGON KICK-lineup rehearsals go pretty damn well. Tomorrow should be even better. Loving the technology upgrade to in-ear monitors. Should be an interesting journey."
A photo taken at yesterday's rehearsal can be seen below.
Bieler, who recently launched a new project called OWL STRETCHING, told Love-It-Loud.com about earlier this year about the prospect of a SAIGON KICK reunion, "I am open to anything at this point, I am really just distilling this down to what it was about when I started… making music and having fun. So far… so good!"
SAIGON KICK is perhaps best remembered for its second album, 1992's "The Lizard", which spawned the band's biggest hit single, "Love Is On The Way". The track reached No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and its accompanying video was in the top 10 MTV countdown for many weeks. Just before touring for the LP commenced, DeFile was fired and was replaced by ex-COLD SWEAT bassist Chris McLernon. They toured from summer 1992 to spring 1993 and "The Lizard" was eventually certified gold by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association Of America) for sales in excess of 500,000 copies.

TRIVIUM is currently touring Europe with AS I LAY DYING, CALIBAN and UPON A BURNING BODY.
TRIVIUM's latest album, "In Waves", sold 22,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 13 on The Billboard 200 chart — the highest U.S. chart entry of the band's career. The group's previous CD, "Shogun", opened with just under 24,000 units back in October 2008 to debut at No. 23. The effort followed up "The Crusade", which registered a first-week tally of 31,000 copies in October 2006 to enter the chart at No. 25.
"In Waves" was recorded primarily at Paint It Black Studios in Orlando, Florida (with only the drums having been tracked at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida) with the production/mixing team of Colin Richardson (MACHINE HEAD, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE, SLIPKNOT, FEAR FACTORY) and Martin "Ginge" Ford, along with engineer Carl Bown.
