Yet, to truly understand RANDOM EYES, we must look to the town of Carrasco in Uruguay, where group frontman Christian's father immigrated as a missionary back in the day. Christian's father married a local girl from Uruguay, and she bore two boys, Christian and Selim. Christian's father enrolled both of his sons in piano classes early on.

Christian proved to be a multi-faceted musician, playing the piano, guitar and drums in the churches of South America. The conservative-minded locals were befuddled by the pastor, whose son had long hair. Christian went on to tell the locals about his vision, to perform at big music festivals which no one had ever heard of before.

Christian moved from Uruguay to Finland when he was 20 years of age. He immediately entered the Finnish Army, where he had to lose his long hair and learn the Finnish language. As Christian sang away in the army barrack showers, his musical skills were noticed by others. A fellow by the name of Timo Kuusijärvi, also serving his term with the Finnish Army at the time, asked Christian to come aboard his band as vocalist. A few years later, the fruits of their combined labors became known as the debut album of RANDOM EYES in 2002.

Over the years, Christian has sung in France's ADAGIO, finished in the final stage of Finnish "X Factor", voluntarily bowing out of the show, and fathered RANDOM EYES like his own child, both musically and as a performer. The band's lineup today is professional in every sense, a passionate group of good looking musicians who know their craft.

GUNS N' ROSES guitarist DJ Ashba told Nui Te Koha of Australia's long-running rock station Triple M that the band's frontman, Axl Rose, has three albums' worth of new material written, most of which will never see the light of day.

"Axl has a lot of great songs up his sleeve," Ashba said. "He probably has three albums worth of stuff recorded.

"The stuff I've heard… I've been up in his hotel room many nights and he just sits down at the piano and plays. I'm like, 'This is amazing. People have to hear this song.' And he's like, 'Ah, this is something I'm tinkering on.'

"He's just a genius when it comes down to music and I just cannot wait to sit down with an acoustic guitar and just write. He's just got this gift that's very, very rare."

In addition to Ashba and sole original member Axl Rose (vocals), the current lineup of GUNS N' ROSES includes guitarists Ron Thal and Richard Fortus, bassist Tommy Stinson, keyboardists Dizzy Reed and Chris Pitman and drummer Frank Ferrer.

Ashba joined GUNS N' ROSES in March 2009 following the departure of Robin Finck.

As previously reported, "Chinese Democracy", the 2008 album released by the current edition of GUNS N' ROSES after a 15-year wait, can now be purchased at BestBuy.com for $1.99.

Best Buy was the exclusive U.S. retailer for "Chinese Democracy", reportedly paying $14 million for 1.6 million copies. But the album was a major sales disappointment, moving less than 620,000 copies despite the curiosity and hype surrounding its release.

To celebrate the 40th year of In The Land Of Grey And Pink's release Caravan are releasing a three disc version of the album.

The first disc will be a remastered version mixed by Paschal Byrne and three stereo mixes done by Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree, Blackfield and more) while the second disc features two previously unreleased versions of “It Doesn’t Take A Lot” and “Nigel Blows A Tune” plus four non-album tracks remixed by Wilson

Disc two also includes three songs recorded live for BBC radio’s Sounds of the Seventies - “Love To Love You”, “Love Song Without Flute” and “In The Land Of Grey And Pink” plus two songs recorded live for John Peel’s Sunday Concert which included a superb cover version of Soft Machine’s “Feelin’, Reelin’, Squealin’” and Caravan’s own magnum opus, “Nine Feet Underground”.

The third disc is a DVD featuring the brand new 5.1 Surround Sound and Stereo mix of the album plus two performances recorded for German TV’s Beat Club in June 1971. “Golf Girl” was broadcast at the time but “Winter Wine” has never been seen.

A defining moment in Caravan's career and in the Canterbury progressive scene the reissue is released on 30th May.

German death metallers SEPTEMBER MURDER have parted ways with bassist Guntar Elsaßer and have replaced him with Marcus Kühne (METZGORE).The band states, "This development is neither a result of arguments nor of other discrepancies, but of [Guntar's] lack of time and possibilities in the future to share the stage with us. As much as he and of course we wished for this, it is impossible for him to accomodate professional and private issues in a way that enables him to be part of the band further on."

SEPTEMBER MURDER is putting the finishing touches on its sophomore album for a late 2011 release.

Reunited hardcore legends EARTH CRISIS will release their seventh album, "Neutralize The Threat", on July 12 via Century Media Records. The CD was produced by Chris "Zeuss" Harris (SHADOWS FALL, HATEBREED). The cover artwork was created by Ryan Clark and can be seen below.

Commented Ryan: "EARTH CRISIS was a seminal band for me. When I was introduced to hardcore, EARTH CRISIS was a band that seemed to stand out from the rest. Their unique blend of metal and hardcore made me an instant fan. Extreme metal supergroup LOCK UP will release its new album, "Necropolis Transparent", on July 1 in Europe and July 12 in North America via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD was recorded in November-December 2010 at HVR Studios in Ipswich, United Kingdom and was mixed in January.

"Necropolis Transparent" will feature guest appearances by HYPOCRISY/PAIN mainman (and one-time LOCK UP vocalist) Peter Tägtgren along with Jeff Walker (CARCASS, BRUJERIA).

Commented LOCK UP bassist Shane Embury: "I always wanted Peter on the third album since he was on the first record LOCK UP we did. It made sense from a weird trilogy aspect to get him on the record. His tones complement [current LOCK UP vocalist] Tomas [Lindberg; also of AT THE GATES] perfectly as well.

"I would have loved to have had Peter sing on more of the songs, but time was short as Peter was heavily involved with his new PAIN record. The songs he did sing on though made them extra special.

"As for Jeff, well me and Jeff go so far back it's unreal. We were mixing the album at Andy Sneap's and I wanted an extra vocal texture on a few tracks to spice it up. My voice is more hardcore and I wanted some extra gravel on things. It all seemed to make sense to Jeff once I had bribed him with a 12 pack of his favorite beer (laughs)!"

"It's great that LOCK UP is back in the saddle again and that I could be a part of it," commented Peter Tägtgren. "This album will tear you a new asshole!"

Jeff Walker added: "I think it's pretty fair to say that the current incarnation of LOCK UP have done the late Jesse Pintado more than proud!"

AC/DC's classic concert film "Let There Be Rock" arrives at last on DVD and Blu-ray on June 7, and a special collector's edition of the set is being made available in a limited run of just 90,000 copies. According to The Pulse Of Radio, this edition comes in a collectible steel case, includes keepsake premium items and contains over an hour of newly added bonus features, documentaries and interviews with artists like DEF LEPPARD's Rick Allen, Matt Sorum of GUNS N' ROSES, Scott Ian from ANTHRAX, Billy Corgan of the SMASHING PUMPKINS, MOTÖRHEAD's Lemmy Kilmister and more.

The movie documents lead singer Bon Scott's final filmed live show with AC/DC, including 13 tracks such as "Whole Lotta Rosie", "High Voltage", "Highway To Hell" and the title song. The concert took place just two months before Scott's death in February 1980.

Shot at the Pavilion De Paris in December 1979, the movie was released in France a year after it was filmed but delayed in the U.S. until even later.

The tragic death of Bon Scott, AC/DC's flamboyant frontman, in early 1980 sent shockwaves throughout the rock music community. At the time no one could imagine a 1979 Paris concert would be the last filmed live concert of the hallowed singer's career but he left the stage that night with the rest of the band leaving it all out there as he had done so many times before for millions of fans. Now for the first time ever on Blu-ray and DVD, Warner Home Video (WHV) is getting set to celebrate one of the greatest performers and legendary rock bands of all-time by releasing AC/DC "Let There Be Rock" to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the theatrical release. Eddie Trunk, the co-host of the VH1 Classic television program "That Metal Show", was interviewed about the band's impact for one of the DVD's bonus features. He wrote last year on his blog, "[The company which is releasing the DVD is] doing some cleanups to the audio and video and making it as high-def as the source will allow." He added, "I can tell you I have an advance and it looks and sounds great, but they are making it even better!"

According to the All Music Guide, "Let There Be Rock" was released in France a year after it was filmed, though American release was delayed until well after the band had established themselves in the States with new vocalist Brian Johnson and the multi-platinum success of the "Back In Black" album.

In his review of the original "Let There Be Rock" film, Fred Beldin of the All Music Guide wrote, "Director Eric Dionysis captures the excitement of the live show with an energetic style and effective close-up shots, though the staged interviews and sub-'The Song Remains The Same' fantasy sequences show the band to be bemused but not convinced by these attempts to add some arty depth to the proceedings. The highlight of the extracurricular segments is Bon Scott, radiating warmth and humility in these last interviews before his untimely death at age 33 from alcohol poisoning."

Two members of the Swedish metal band IN FLAMES — Peter Iwers (bass) and Björn Gelotte (guitar) — are partners in a new restaurant in their hometown of Gothenburg with a focus on "quality and service." Named 2112 as a tribute to RUSH's "2112" album, the establishment had its grand opening on April 21.

"We decided to open a place that was part restaurant with fine dining and part pub with a great selection and a good bar menu," Iwers and Gelotte told GAFFA. "Both of us love to go out and drink and eat and that is exactly what you can do here. You can start in the restaurant and continue in the pub, or vice versa."

2112 is located at Magasingatan 5 in Gothenburg.

Tommy Vitaly, the guitar player for the Italian power metal band SEVENGATES, is currently working on his second album, "Hanging Rock". The CD will feature guest appearances by the following musicians:

INCITE, the Phoenix, Arizona-based metal band fronted by Richie Cavalera — the stepson of SOULFLY/CAVALERA CONSPIRACY mainman Max Cavalera — will enter the studio in July to begin recording its sophomore album. The group states, "[The] writing is just about finished and it's coming out sicker than ever. [It] looks like we are going to work with [producer] Rhys Fulber (FEAR FACTORY, FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY, PARADISE LOST)."

INCITE released its debut album, "The Slaughter", in North America on October 20, 2009 and in Europe on November 2, 2009 via I Scream Records. The CD was produced by Logan Mader, who has previously worked with GOJIRA, DIVINE HERESY and CAVALERA CONSPIRACY.

Former and current members of DREAM THEATER, STONE SOUR and DEVILDRIVER have offered their words of support to STONE SOUR drummer Roy Mayorga, who recently suffered a "minor stroke," causing the cancelation of the remaining dates on the band's current U.S. tour.

Writing on Twitter, the following musicians have commented on Mayorga's health scare:

The canceled STONE SOUR concerts include stops in Rapid City, South Dakota, Fargo, North Dakota, Detroit, Libertyville, Illinois, and Columbus, Ohio.

Mayorga joined STONE SOUR in 2006 after the band's previous drummer, Joel Ekman, was forced to leave the group in order to spend time with his son, who was diagnosed with brain stem cancer.

STONE SOUR bassist Shawn Economaki was forced to leave the band's current tour to deal with undisclosed "personal issues." STONE SOUR has used a replacement bassist for some recent shows.

The band's third album, "Audio Secrecy", has sold more than 170,000 copies in the U.S. since its September 2010 release.

STONE SOUR is not scheduled to perform again until September, when the band will appear at Brazil's Rock In Rio festival. Frontman Corey Taylor and guitarist Jim Root will play shows this summer with SLIPKNOT.

WHITESNAKE frontman David Coverdale says that he refuses to believe that music fans are no longer interested in purchasing albums and only want to download CDs illegally.

"I don't accept that people don't buy records anymore. I'm a huge iTunes fan," Coverdale told AOL's Noisecreep during a recent chat.

"I live up in the mountains of Lake Tahoe and any of the stores that sold records around the area are gone now. So Amazon and iTunes are my environment now. My wife is always concerned because I've had a hand-written note from the people who own Amazon thanking me for my business. I think to myself, 'Wait a second, how much am I spending [laughs]?' But I love buying new music."

Florida-based extreme metal veterans MORBID ANGEL have issued the following update:

Swedish metallers THE HAUNTED were honored at SKAP's (Svenska Kompositörer Av Populärmusik, The Swedish Society Of Popular Music Composers) annual ceremony this past Monday, May 16 at Blå Hallen in Stockholm.

Every year SKAP awards scholarships and prizes to celebrate Swedish creativity across all musical genres. The awards ceremony takes place in tandem with SKAP's annual spring party which is organized with the composers in mind and creativity as the main focus. During the event, there are 13 recipients of a scholarship valued at 40,000 SEK (approximately $6,350) each.

Californian rockers BUCKCHERRY completed their run on the Jägermeister Music Tour earlier this spring, coinciding with the release of their latest single, "It's A Party". The band partnered with Jägermeister to compile iconic live footage from the tour into an exclusive live video showcasing the band's electric energy behind "It's A Party". Check out the clip beow.

"The video is a compilation of a few different performances on our last tour," says BUCKCHERRY guitarist Keith Nelson. Vocalist Josh Todd adds, "It is the true essence of what we are about and when BUCKCHERRY hits the stage, we get the party started."
