"Riding Against The Wind", the brand new video from POISON singer Bret Michaels, can be viewed below (courtesy of Billboard.com). The track, which is featured on Michaels' "Custom Built" solo album, is also the theme song for Bret's new VH1 reality series, "Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It", which will premiere on October 18 at 10/9c. The series showcases the 47-year-old rocker's life with his two daughters — Jorja, 5, and Raine, 10 — and Kristi Gibson, the mother of Michaels' kids, with whom he has been together on and off since 1993.

In 1989 BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi and DEEP PURPLE singer Ian Gillan were just a few names in a long list of talent involved in the recording of the DEEP PURPLE track "Smoke on The Water". This song was re-recorded to raise money for those affected by the Leninakan earthquake that struck Armenia in 1988.

In October of last year both Tony and Ian traveled to Armenia to see how the funds raised had helped the local community. On their trip they visited a music school only to find it being run out of temporary accommodation, with its only location not having been rebuilt 20 years after the earthquake had struck.

Earlier this week, Tony and Ian headed back into the studio, joined by keyboardist Jon Lord (DEEP PURPLE, WHITESNAKE) and drummer Nicko McBrain (IRON MAIDEN) to record a new track, "Out Of My Mind", to raise money to rebuild the Armenian music school.

Commented Iommi: "I had a great time in the studio yesterday with Ian Gillan, Nicko McBrain and Jon Lord. We had a brilliant time together laying down the track 'Out of My Mind' and a lot of fun doing it, plenty of jokes and humor! As expected everyone played so well. What an exciting time!!"

In October 2009, Gillan and Iommi were awarded the Orders Of Honor — which were delivered to them by Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan — for the Armenia Grateful To Rock program (see video below). The objective of the program, was to express gratitude to those musicians who 20 years ago participated in the Rock Aid Armenia.

Atlanta rap/metal pioneers STUCK MOJO have parted ways with Austria's Napalm Records, the label that released the band's last two albums, 2007's "Southern Born Killers" (originally made available in 2005 as a free download) and 2008's "The Great Revival".

Commented guitarist/songwriter Rich Ward, "We released two records [through Napalm] and did two extensive tours of Europe with EKTOMORF and VOLBEAT [while signed to the label]. We both got what we wanted and when the initial recording obligations were fulfilled, we parted company happy, which was a first!"

STUCK MOJO will embark on the "Here Comes The Monster" tour of Europe starting on October 25. The trek will include a total of 16 shows in France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Hungary, Switzerland, Denmark and Czech Republic. Joining STUCK MOJO on the bill will be Atlanta progressive metal outfit HALCYON WAY and the rock quartet LIES from France. This follows STUCK MOJO's July 2010 appearance in Germany, where the band performed on the main stage as part of the With Full Force festival.

During the 18-month hiatus from the road, STUCK MOJO released guitarist Mike Martin and welcomed back long time drummer Frank Fontsere, returning to its original four-man roots. "Here Comes The Monster" tour will feature Lord Nelson on the mic, Rich "The Duke" Ward on guitar, Sean Delson on bass and Frank Fontsere on drums and will include material from all six of the band's studio records.

Irish rockers THERAPY? will release their first-ever official live album, "We're Here To The End", on November 8 via Global Music.

In March 2010 THERAPY? performed three nights at the London Water Rats Theatre as part of its 20th-anniversary celebrations. Those shows were recorded and have been laid out in a special double-disc package showcasing the band's monumental catalogue of music:

The band commented on the release: "Right from the get go we always did shows and travelled far and wide, even before we had released any recorded music. So an integral part of the THERAPY? history, and success, has been our live show and the fact that we've toured it all over the world.

"People have regularly said, 'You guys are amazing live, how about a live album? but we never really found the right recording or the right time period to release it. Swedish hard rockers THE POODLES have issued the following statement regarding the tragic death of GOTTHARD singer Steve Lee who was killed in a motorcycle accident in Nevada yesterday (Tuesday, October 5 at 16:13 PM). He was 47 years old.

"It is with great sadness that we today were reached with the news that one of rock's great voices has been silenced by the passing Gotthard frontman Steve Lee in a tragic accident in the United States.

A brilliant vocalist and great person that we had the pleasure of meeting and spending some time with on tour.

The world's a lesser place without you but your songs will live on forever.

Rest in peace."

North America's progressive metal masters SYMPHONY X are currently recording their Nuclear Blast debut and follow-up to 2007's "Paradise Lost", which has sold over 60,000 copies in North America. Lead vocalist Russell Allen has finished laying down his vocal tracks and the band is moving on to record keyboards, bass, and guitar solos.

Comments Allen: "I just want to say how excited I am about the new album. It's gonna kill! The songs rock and the performances by my fellow bandmates are simply amazing." Swiss hard rock legends KROKUS have released the following statement regarding the passing of GOTTHARD singer Steve Lee:

The clip, helmed by Ramon Boutviseth (TRIVIUM, DREAM THEATER, INCUBUS), features a narrative involving a variety of characters dealing with internal struggles and their inability to change their fate as their world crumbles down around them, both figuratively and literally. The force behind the destruction is the manifestation of their dark emotions, which ALL THAT REMAINS embodies as they unleash an epic performance in a post-apocalyptic urban wasteland.

"The Persecution Song", a brand new track from British extreme metallers CRADLE OF FILTH, is available for streaming in the audio player at this location.

According to Australia's Brisbane Times, a CRADLE OF FILTH fan could face six months in jail over an allegedly offensive T-shirt.

Alexsei Vladmir Nikola, 34, was due to appear in court Thursday morning (October 7) on public nuisance charges after Brisbane police officers allegedly saw him wearing the shirt on George Street on May 6.

The shirt allegedly featured the words "Jesus Is A C**t" in large letters and shows a picture of a semi-naked, masturbating nun.

Nikola was due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court but his case was adjourned in his absence.

According to Australia's Herald Sun newspaper, a Gold Coast teenager was charged in June 2008 by police for wearing the same CRADLE OF FILTH t-shirt. The teen was charged with offensive behavior under the Summary Offences Act 2005 for public nuisance.

Metro newspaper reported in October 2005 that a British teenage heavy metal fan was handed a community service order for wearing the same shirt.

Adam Shepherd, who was 19 at the time, was reportedly convicted under the then-new anti-hate laws which ban people from displaying religiously insulting signs.

The teenager was arrested after a woman complained to police when she saw his shirt, which shows a picture of a nun in a pornographic pose. The top was being worn by Shepherd's girlfriend when a police officer approached her. As soon as the teenager realized there was a problem, he told the officer it was his and swapped tops with his girlfriend. But he refused to take it off or cover it up and was arrested.

Shepherd, who bought the shirt in his hometown of Weymouth, Dorset, admitted the charge. Weymouth magistrates gave him 80 hours community service and told him to pay £40 costs (approx. $71 at the time).

The Pulse of Radio reports that executives at concert giant Live Nation are looking at 2011 tours from the likes of VAN HALEN to save the live music industry, according to a report in USA Today. Live Nation executive chairman Irving Azoff told analysts on a Monday (October 4) conference call that the concert business will end 2010 with a whimper, with Azoff saying the industry is "still not seeing a consumer recovery" in ticket sales. But Azoff said he was optimistic about next year, specifically mentioning VAN HALEN and FLEETWOOD MAC as two acts that could lift ticket sales out of the doldrums.

Other potential 2011 moneymakers that Azoff mentioned included the cast of "Glee", AVRIL LAVIGNE and CHRISTINA AGUILERA. The latter canceled a tour this past summer because of poor sales.

Other acts that saw a dip in ticket sales this year included the JONAS BROTHERS, AEROSMITH, GOO GOO DOLLS, THE EAGLES and others.

Azoff also said that Live Nation hopes to earn money by selling more items like CDs, DVDs of that night's concert, T-shirts, posters and other memorabilia.

VAN HALEN's 2008 reunion tour with original singer David Lee Roth grossed more than $93 million and drew nearly one million fans to 74 shows.

Recent rumors have indicated that a new VAN HALEN album is in the works for a 2011 release. The new album would be the first with Roth on the mic since 1983 and first full studio effort since 1998's "Van Halen III".

According to The Pulse of Radio, CHICKENFOOT may lose drummer Chad Smith to his full-time job with the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, but guitarist Joe Satriani says he has a few replacements in mind already. Satriani told MusicRadar.com. "Were Chad not able to be in the band because of the CHILI PEPPERS, I think it would be fun to get somebody really outrageous like Tommy Lee. He's a great drummer, a lot of fun and a crazy personality. We've had some guys sit in from time to time. Some names that have been thrown around are (Paul McCartney drummer) Abe Laboriel Jr. and (LED ZEPPELIN drummer) Jason Bonham — they'd be really great."

CHICKENFOOT frontman Sammy Hagar told The Pulse of Radio that he and Smith have a chemistry that's hard to duplicate. "Him and I, the way we bounce off each other, we make the whole world go round," he said. "And it's not on a creative level, it's just really on a personality level and the way it creates an energy within the band and it makes like a carnival ride. And without Chad I'm not sure we have that."

Satriani added at Music Radar that he thinks Smith will be available in January to record the second CHICKENFOOT album, but might not be able to tour with the band after that.

CHICKENFOOT's self-titled debut disc came out in June 2009 and was certified gold for sales of more than 500,000 copies.

Ten of the eleven songs that appear on "Written In Blood", the third album from Norwegian metallers MANIFEST, are available for streaming in the band's MySpace page. The group states: "We'll keep the ten tracks available one week for free, until the release date, October 11. Seven years after the announcement of their creative break, the original members of prog rock supergroup TRANSATLANTIC — Roine Stolt (THE FLOWER KINGS), Pete Trewavas (MARILLION), Neal Morse (ex-SPOCK'S BEARD) and Mike Portnoy (DREAM THEATER) — got together again and recorded a new studio album titled "The Whirlwind", which went on to be TRANSATLANTIC's best-selling album, entering mainstream charts in the U.S., Germany and Netherlands. Their two seminal albums, tours and DVDs redefined prog's artistic and commercial possibilities with a combination of modern and traditional prog, classic pop sensibilities, and mind-blowing musicianship.

The "An Evening With Transatlantic Whirld Tour 2010" was the group's largest tour, covering both sides of the Atlantic across 11 countries. With the addition of PAIN OF SALVATION's Daniel Gildenlöw on guitar and keyboards, it was also their most musically powerful. Connecticut metallers SACRED OATH will release their fourth studio album, "World On Fire", on October 26 as an iTunes exclusive. The deluxe bundle includes 11 songs and a PDF of the cover art, lyrics and liner notes. The CD was produced by singer/guitarist Rob Thorne at his studio in Connecticut during February and March this year. "I couldn’t be happier with how this recording turned out," says Thorne, who has produced all but one of SACRED OATH's albums. "It was important to me that 'World On Fire' have its own sonic character. That can be a challenge when making albums so close to each other, but this album stands on its own. I hope the fans will love it."
