NEGATOR Announce Departure Of Guitarist Kliffjard
 German black metallers NEGATOR have announced the departure of guitarist Kliffjard. The band released the following statement:
“Unfortunately we have to inform you, that Kliffjard is no longer a member of Negator. Due to other duties in life, which he will be facing from now on, we had to come to this conclusion. We want to thank him for his tremendous energy and for the great contribution. We wish him all the best for the future!
But, we have already found a worthy successor, who will be revealed soon!”

DEFTONES Will Write New Album In 2014, Not 2015
 DEFTONES singer Chino Moreno wants to clear up any confusion over some recent comments he made to Rolling Stone magazine, saying that the band intends to begin working on music for its eighth studio album this year. The timeline of the Rolling Stone article was vague, suggesting that the quintet would not even start writing new songs until early 2015. But Moreno told The Pulse Of Radio that's not the case. "I think we're all excited to make some noise together again, so I think right now we're looking at, planning-wise, of doing that, and hopefully have a record or material to go record by the end of the year or early next year."
Moreno himself just moved to Oregon, while drummer Abe Cunningham and keyboardist Frank Delgado remain in the band's hometown of Sacramento. Guitarist Stephen Carpenter lives in Los Angeles and bassist Sergio Vega is based in New York City.
DEFTONES spent much of 2013 on the road behind their seventh album, "Koi No Yokan", which debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard album chart in November 2012 and yielded the Top Two rock radio single "Tempest".

FEN Vocalist Launches Solo Project SLUG COMPARISON; 'Bringer Of Doom' Video Streaming
 Doug Harrison, vocalist for Canada-based progressive rockers FEN, has launched a solo project called SLUG COMPARISON, and the debut release is a music video for the song 'Bringer Of Doom'.
A dark collaboration between Harrison and Swedish director Peter Wiholm, the video depicts a woman (actor Kim Arklie) who slits her wrists and lowers herself into a bathtub, then enters the dream-like world of her subconscious. In the shadows of this world a mysterious man (actor Brad Hammerstron) keeps appearing, and the woman finds herself running for safety.
“The story wasn’t what I had in mind when I wrote the song,” says Harrison, “But when Peter came up with the idea, I was impressed by how well it matched the lyrics, so we went ahead with making it.”
'Bringer Of Doom' is the first of a group of songs written at the same time as Fen’s Ripple Music release, Of Losing Interest. Harrison says, “Between writing sessions with the band, I found I had more energy to keep going, and more ideas kept coming out of me, so I’d work on those at home, piecing them together on my computer. Eventually I had enough of them that I realized I needed a new project.”
For 'Bringer Of Doom', Harrison wrote and performed and/or programmed all of the instruments with the help of long-time Fen producer, Mike Southworth of Creativ Studios. The song is available for $1 at Bandcamp.

BENEATH - 'Vengeance I Breathe' Lyric Video Released
 Swedish thrash metal project BENEATH has released the lyric video for the song 'Vengeance I Breathe', taken from the upcoming album, Antidote, due out on March 7th.
According to a press release, "Beneath’s music can best be described as melodic and brutal. Beauty and beast. Acoustic and distorted. Singing and growling. Take the aggression of thrash metal and the melancholy of melodic metal, add some traditional songwriting and the furiosity of hard core and you get the picture."

 STICK TO YOUR GUNS will enter the studio tomorrow with legendary producer John Feldmann (THE USED, STORY OF THE YEAR) to start tracking their new full-length album.
Founding member/vocalist Jesse Barnett states: "Personally this seems like the next logical step for our band. The five of us aren't a group that has ever been ok with doing just enough or even entertain the thought of doing the same thing over and over again. We like to push ourselves. We like to ask ourselves, now what? What can we do to be better? With all of that being said, we are very excited about going into the studio with John. He has proven his expertise in punk music and that he takes bands and gets the absolute best out of them. ANCILLOTTI Release Video ‘Bang Your Head’
 Italian metallers ANCILLOTTI will release their debut album, The Chain Goes On, on February 28th. They have now released a video for the song ‘Bang Your Head’.
The band has scheduled a release party, on March 8th at the Circus Club, located at Via Isaac Newton, 66 - Casellina - Scandicci (FI, Italy).
A press release states: “Does anyone remember STRANA OFFICINA, probably the most legendary 80s metal band from Italy? Or the 90s project BUD TRIBE? Those of you who liked those bands will definitely be fascinated by Ancillotti. Founded by the eponymous Daniele “Bud” Ancillotti, who took on his brother Sandro as bass player and his son Brian as drummer. The first sign of life was in 2012 the four track EP Down This Road Together; this is now followed by the debut album The Chain Goes On.
The ten songs of the album are affected by very straight heavy metal, which reminds one of the earlier bands of the singer, but some part are arranged with more mid-tempo. This has sometimes a very special charm created by the rough but melodic vocals, but other passages are pounding in best ACCEPT manner. The catchy choruses are exactly on the point and are made for singing/shouting along (to give a few examples: the opener 'Band Your Head', 'Legacy of Rock' or 'The Devil Inside'), which is brought to perfection by the penetrating double bass-drumming. This rock n' roll firework show is completed by a powerful production.”

LORD MANTIS Reveal New Album Details
 Profound Lore Records is planning for the label's introductory release from Chicago's anti-life quartet, LORD MANTIS, today officially dispatching the full details on the band's rancid new audio virulence, Death Mask.
A press release states: “The four depraved individuals who form the Lord Mantis cult -- bassist/vocalist Charlie Fell, guitarist/vocalist Andrew Markuszewski, drummer Bill Bumgardner and newly inducted guitarist/vocalist Ken Sorceron -- have culminated their contempt for humankind and some of the most horrific personal experiences over recent years into an exceptionally malevolent entity on Death Mask. Unleashing something far darker even than their already iniquitous prior LP's -- 2009's Seventh Rule debut, Spawning The Nephilim, and 2012's Candlelight-released Pervertor -- the visceral punishment one will endure on the seven works of Death Mask is not for the weak. Dredging forth their most disturbing works yet, born forth from some of the darkest recesses of the human psyche, Lord Mantis recorded the fifty-minute album with Sanford Parker (TWILIGHT, VOIVOD, EYEHATEGOD, YOB) at Chicago-based Electrical Audio and Soma Studios, who is also responsible for engineering both prior albums. PSYCHOBLISS Change Name To SEVERED RECEPTORS; New Band Members Announced
 Phoenix, AZ-based black metal band PSYCHOBLISS has changed their name to SEVERED RECEPTORS ahead of the release of their upcoming EP. Severed Receptors is dark, female-fronted metal. Underlying black metal sets the foundation for a style that truly transcends the boundaries.
The band consists of the original members of PsychoBliss; Dan Stollings (guitars), and Kyla Stollings (vocals), but also welcomes guitarists Ian Durand and Jaron Elton, bassist Ryan Neeland, and drummer Michael Mistretta.
“We chose the name Severed Receptors because we feel it’s a more ‘mature’ expression of who we are musically.”

LACUNA COIL: New Song 'Die & Rise' Released Digitally
 "Die & Rise", a brand new song from Italian heavy rockers LACUNA COIL, is available for purchase via iTunes and Amazon. The track is taken from the band's new studio album, "Broken Crown Halo", which will be released in North America on April 1 (one day earlier internationally) via Century Media Records. The CD was recorded Italy by producer Jay Baumgardner (P.O.D., SEVENDUST, EVANESCENCE, PAPA ROACH) and engineer Kyle Hoffmann (P.O.D., BUSH, ZEBRAHEAD). The effort was mastered by Howie Weinberg, whose credits include RAMMSTEIN, SOUNDGARDEN, NIRVANA, DEFTONES and SHERYL CROW.

LACUNA COIL will hit the road as a quintet later this month as part of "The Hottest Chicks In Hard Rock Tour" following the departures of guitarist Cris "Pizza" Migliore and drummer Cristiano "Criz" Mozzati. Marco "Maus" Biazzi will handle all guitar duties on the trek while drummer Ryan Blake Folden will once again sit behind the kit for the tour. The band states: "Fans will already be familiar with Ryan, as he performed live with LACUNA COIL on the majority of the 2012 and 2013 'Dark Legacy' and 'Dark Adrenaline' tours."
Regarding the departures of Migliore and Mozzati, LACUNA COIL singer Cristina Scabbia told U.K.'s Metal Hammer, Scabbia elaborated on Migliore and Mozzati's exit from the band. "It's something we announced [on Friday] but knew for a few weeks, and honestly, I feel good, because we couldn't have a better — I don't even wasn't to use the word ‘split'; that sounds like, 'Oh, we had a big fight and we don't want to see each other anymore,' she said.
"It was something that was coming from the heart, very sincere. They just decided they wanted to change their lives. It's not like they didn't like the band anymore, but this lifestyle is not easy. You're on tour all the time, you don't have any private life anymore.
"Being on tour is really surreal, because time moves in a different way, so I think it's absolutely normal that after so many years together, some of us want to carry on doing what we do because we still enjoy it, and some of us would want to move on, keeping the great memories we have together. I mean, they're not planning to join other bands. It's not going to be a huge difference, because we will have the same songwriter, and we are determined to go on. So I'm sad that they're leaving, but we will continue seeing each other outside the band. They are happy, we are happy, everyone is happy."
She continued: "The drums [on the U.S. tour] will be played by Ryan Folden, who played with us for the last year while Criz was at home growing up his kid. And for guitar we are going on with Marco only, and then we will decide.
"I posted the news [on Friday] and I got 25 private messages in half an hour from people that wanted to do auditions. But we're not doing any auditions.
"It's too early to think about replacements, and we don't even know if we want that. We might work with session musicians for a while, because even if we are serene and happy, it's hard for us, because we lost two brothers, so we don't want anyone to come into the family just like that. It would be wise, I think, just to go on with us four and then move on with friends like Ryan, who is a great drummer and very easy to get along with. And that's an important factor, because if you're going to share a tour bus with people, you have to be able to get along with them!"

LAMB OF GOD: METAL INJECTION Report On 'As The Palaces Burn' Documentary Premiere In Philadelphia
 Metal Injection cameras were at the Trocadero Theatre in Philadelphia, Pennasylvania on February 16 to document the world premiere of the new LAMB OF GOD documentary, "As The Palaces Burn". The 10-minute clip below features exclusive interviews with the director of the film, Don Argott; LAMB OF GOD drummer Chris Adler; fans; and footage of LAMB OF GOD frontman Randy Blythe's comments from the stage.
The Trocadero Theatre was where LAMB OF GOD's platinum DVD, "Killadelphia", was filmed, making the venue a natural choice for the movie premiere. LAMB OF GOD entered into a worldwide distribution deal with Specticast (LED ZEPPELIN's "Celebration Day", Paul McCartney's "Rock Show") for their Don Argott-directed ("Last Days Here", "Art Of The Steal", "School Of Rock") feature film "As The Palaces Burn". Filming for the movie began in 2012 and concluded in March of 2013. "As The Palaces Burn", which should not be confused with the making-of documentary packaged with the recent re-release of the 2003 LAMB OF GOD album of the same name, was conceived to be a documentary focused on the power of music and its impact on cultures around the world and its ability to bring together people of all nationalities regardless of religious or political differences. After a worldwide casting call, filming took place in Colombia, Venezuela, Israel, India, and the United States. As filming reached its conclusion, the documentary was forced to take a major turn when the band's lead singer, Randy Blythe, was arrested in the Czech Republic and charged with the murder of a fan in June 2012. Granted unique access to Blythe's saga, Argott's filming covered Blythe's 38-day imprisonment in Prague, his release and the band's return to live performances, and finally Blythe's trial for murder in Prague in February 2013. | 0 | |

FILTER: 'Surprise' Video Premiere
 "Surprise", the new video from the modern rock band FILTER, can be seen below. The clip was directed by Gus Black, who has previously worked with DEFTONES.
In a November 2013 interview with In The Now Magazine, FILTER mainman Richard Patrick stated about "Surprise": "To me, the song 'Surprise' is, like, a no-brainer. It should be a nice, successful song for us. I don't mean to get cocky, but it really is one of those songs that we wrote that, you feel like you were just watching it happen, even though you were writing the lyrics and stuff and you were playing the guitar. It's just one of those songs that just kind of…. It just kind of wrote itself."
"Surprise" is taken from FILTER's sixth studio album, "The Sun Comes Out Tonight", which was released on June 4, 2013 via Wind-Up Records. The CD was recorded in Los Angeles at Blue Room studios with producer Bob Marlette (BLACK SABBATH, ATREYU, SALIVA). The follow-up to 2010's "The Trouble With Angels" was written and recorded by leader Richard Patrick and guitarist Jonny Radtke, as well as collaborator Marlette. There are also performances from touring members Jeff Friedl and Elias Mallin (drums) and Phil Buckman (bass).
Regarding FILTER's plans for a new studio album, Patrick told In The Now Magazine: "Creatively, there's not a lot of limitations, we're finding the more we work together. WE're not really concentrating on too much new material, but the reality is that once we get started, it's only a couple of months before we'll have a record done. He [Radtke] can come up with riffs and I can think of vocal melodies, and I can come up with riffs and he can think of vocal melodies.
"We usually just write on the spot when we're in the recording studio, so it's a luxury that a lot of bands don't have. But we've using technology for so long that we're just, like, the computer is right in the mix; it's always right there.
"I think the next record, we're gonna definitely use the talent that we've been blessed with, with Jeff Fabb on drums and Tim Kelleher [on bass]. So there's gonna be a little bit more of a band feel, but I still think that we should probably go even more electronic, to me, because I just…
"When I was in NINE INCH NAILS and when I was in my formative years, I was way into… I mean, starting with the 'Blade Runner' soundtrack in 1982, the [Greek composer and multi-instrumentalist] Vangelis and SKINNY PUPPY and MINISTRY, that's somehow really a part of my soul. As well as PANTERA and U2 and PINK FLOYD and DEFTONES…. So we've got so many different inspirations to draw from that… We don't really stop. We don't take too many vacations."

SEBASTIAN BACH: 'Give 'Em Hell' Cover Artwork, Track Listing Unveiled; 'Temptation' Song Available For Streaming
 "Temptation", a brand new song from former SKID ROW singer Sebastian Bach, was premiered on the February 17 edition of "Mohr Stories", the podcast hosted by actor, comedian and sports enthusiast Jay Mohr. You can now listen to the podcast below. (Note: "Temptation" begins around the 50-minute mark.) It is also available on iTunes.
"Temptation" is taken from Bach's new solo album, "Give 'Em Hell", which will be released on April 22 via Frontiers Records. The follow-up to 2011's "Kicking & Screaming" was once again produced by Bob Marlette, who has previously worked with ROB ZOMBIE, BLACK SABBATH and SHINEDOWN, among others.
"Give 'Em Hell" was mastered at Precision Mastering in Los Angeles with Tom Baker. Bach said: "The CD Tom gave me today is EXACTLY what I want you all to hear when you press 'Play' on the new record.
"Tom has taken Bob Marlette's incredible mixes and retained all of the warmth and added sonic sparkle and excellence that I just cannot believe it when I listen to it.
"I want to thank Tom Baker and Bob Marlette and all of my bandmembers for all of their talent and expertise which is completely evident when you listen to this music.
"I truly feel like the luckiest man on earth right now.
"I truly love the CD and I just cannot wait for you all to crank the hell right out of it! It has been delivered to the presses and they are making one especially for YOU right at this very second!"
Sebastian managed to involve in the writing and recording some very special friends and guest stars, including none other than Duff McKagan (VELVET REVOLVER, GUNS N' ROSES), and not one but two top-class guitar players: John 5 (MARILYN MANSON, ROB ZOMBIE) and Steve Stevens (BILLY IDOL). Rounding out the lineup on the CD are Devin Bronson (AVRIL LAVIGNE, PINK) on guitar and Bobby Jarzombek (HALFORD, RIOT, FATES WARNING) on drums. Duff and Sebastian previously collaborated on Duff's solo album "Believe In Me".
The cover for "Give 'Em Hell" (see below) was once again handled by Richard Villa, who worked on "Kicking & Screaming". Incorporated into the album design is one of the paintings by Sebastian's late father David Bierk, who painted the artwork for SKID ROW's "Slave To The Grind", inside artwork for SKID ROW's "Subhuman Race", and Bach's solo albums "Angel Down" and "Bring 'Em Bach Alive!".

Bach's CD/DVD package, "ABachalypse Now", was released in North America on March 26, 2013 via Frontiers Records. The "ABachalypse Now" Ultimate CD/DVD Edition includes never-before-seen footage from 2012's Graspop Metal Meeting festival in Dessel, Belgium, the full never-before-seen Hellfest set from France and the fully-remixed and remastered Nokia show from Los Angeles (originally broadcast on AXS TV), as well as bonus music videos. The DVD contains a running time of nearly 160 minutes. "ABachalypse Now" was made available in two configurations: the Ultimate CD/DVD Edition (2 CDs + DVD) and a standalone DVD.

IRON SAVIOR will play a special release show for "Rise Of The Hero" on February 27 at Hard Rock Café St. Pauli in Hamburg, Germany.
IRON SAVIOR likes to surprise its fans from time to time. Who would have expected a cover version of MANDO DIAO's "Dance With Somebody" from the Hamburg-based band? Well, whatever works is allowed. So frontman Piet Sielck admits that "Dance With Somebody" was originally recorded to become a bonus track for the limited edition of the new CD, "but we simply liked it too much and finally decided to make it a regular album track."
IRON SAVIOR's latest album, "The Landing", was released on November 18, 2011 via AFM Records.

KAMCHATKA: Entire 'The Search Goes On' Album Available For Streaming
 "The Search Goes On", the fifth studio album from the Swedish hard rock trio KAMCHATKA, can be streamed in its entirety below (courtesy of Revolver magazine).

NASHVILLE PUSSY: Fan-Filmed Video Footage Of Toulouse Concert
 Fan-filmed video footage of NASHVILLE PUSSY's February 9 concert in Toulouse, France can be seen below.
NASHVILLE PUSSY's new studio album, "Up The Dosage", was released on January 21 in North America, in Germany on January 17 and in the rest of Europe on January 20 via Steamhammer/SPV. It was made available as a limited digipak edition (including two bonus tracks and a poster), double gatefold LP edition with colored vinyl, standard version and download.
According to a press release, "Up The Dosage" picks up seamlessly where their 2009 release "From Hell To Texas" left off. And what is more: the quartet's five-year hiatus seems to have done frontman Blaine Cartwright (vocals, guitar) and Ruyter Suys (guitar) good — all 13 new songs (plus two bonus tracks) sound like they were catapulted into to the public from a fountain of youth, rocking in typical PUSSY style. Blaine Cartwright is rightly proud of and unmistakably happy about the new material. "None of the previous NASHVILLE PUSSY albums have been as diverse and at the same time consistent," he said. "Everything sounds even bigger and better, yet raw and authentic through and through. This is our 'Back In Black'!"
"Up the Dosage" features the first recordings from new bassist Bonnie Buitrago, who took over the bass player duties from Karen Cuda. Cartwright commented on the addition of Bonnie to the band: "Bonnie originally tried out for NASHVILLE PUSSY 12 years ago. When we needed a replacement for Karen a couple of years ago, we were lucky that she was available. She's a Southern California native who is a great musician who has given our rock a more solid roll!" Rick Beato, known for his production work with SHINEDOWN, mixed the album.

Ex-KILLSWITCH ENGAGE Singer's DEVIL YOU KNOW: More Video Footage Of First-Ever Live Show
 DEVIL YOU KNOW, the creative union of Howard Jones (ex-KILLSWITCH ENGAGE), Francesco Artusato (ALL SHALL PERISH) and John Sankey (DEVOLVED), made its live debut this past Saturday night (February 15) at Chain Reaction in Anaheim, California.

DEVIL YOU KNOW will unleash its inaugural effort on Nuclear Blast Entertainment this spring. The highly-anticipated debut, "The Beauty of Destruction", will be made available on both physical and digital formats on April 25 in Europe and April 29 in North America.
"The Beauty Of Destruction" was produced by Logan Mader (FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, GOJIRA, DEVILDRIVER, SOULFLY) and mixed by Chris "Zeuss" Harris (HATEBREED, SOULFLY). Artwork for the album was created by noted painter and illustrator Travis Smith (OPETH, DEVIN TOWNSEND).

DEVIL YOU KNOW filmed a video for the song "Seven Years Alone" earlier this month in Los Angeles.
As previously reported, DEVIL YOU KNOW will support BLACK LABEL SOCIETY on this year's Revolver Golden Gods Tour, which will kick off on April 16 in Portland and wrap up on June 7 in Los Angeles. Also appearing on the bill is DOWN. DEVIL YOU KNOW is also confirmed for the 2014 edition of Australia's Soundwave Festival, set to take place in late February and early March.
"It's the record I've waited my entire life to make," Artusato said about "The Beauty Of Destruction".
"Logan really pushed us and brought the best out of us and now Zeuss is making it sound amazing!"
DEVIL YOU KNOW's touring lineup is completed by guitarist Roy Lev-Ari and BLEEDING THROUGH bassist Ryan Wombacher.
Said Jones said of the band's new additions: "After a period of being so intensely creative writing and recording the album, it's exciting to finally take it out on the road.
"It's great to have the two new guys.
"Roy is a great fit.
"Ryan and I have played tons of shows together in BLEEDING THROUGH and KILLSWITCH and have known each other for years."
DEVIL YOU KNOW was born out of Artusato and Sankey's creative quest to stretch beyond their extreme metal backgrounds. The two had written over a dozen songs before even attempting to lock down a singer. "We were unsure if Howard would be interested," said Sankey." Yet, when KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's former frontman received the material, a creative ideal began to solidify.
Finally connecting in Los Angeles during the last months of 2012, a highly distinctive sound began to become apparent. "It turned from bare-bones musical ideas into something that surpassed any of our expectations," said Jones. "It went from something we thought was going to be a fun, heavy project into something very real." It was during a recording session at the start of 2013 with producer and former MACHINE HEAD and SOULFLY guitarist Logan Mader that DEVIL YOU KNOW's ideas began to alchemize into something none of the bands members would ever expect. "It became a departure from what I'm known for," said Artusato. "I wasn't focusing on technical guitar parts (even though I still love that aspect of writing) but simply on writing what felt best for each individual song."
The writing and recording process for DEVIL YOU KNOW's debut album "was surprisingly easy," stated Artusato. "When we get together it just works." The band is also quick to sum up the studio vibe with producer Mader as "intensely creative," said Sankey. "Logan definitely helped us realize and define the DEVIL YOU KNOW sound." Jones agreed: "He went from producer, to unsung member, to friend."
"It's a different style of music for me," said Jones of DEVIL YOU KNOW's unique sound. "It's heavy as anything any of us are known for but I get to do some different things people won't expect. I've been singing almost all my life. Being around good songwriters and musicians in my former bands really helped mold me into who I am now."
