SAPIENCY Release Video ‘Unknown Enemy’

G.E.N Release Video ‘Shadow Of Light’
 Chilean doom/gothic band G.E.N has released the music video for the track ‘Shadow Of Light’ that comes off their debut album, No Ink For A Self Portrait. The video was directed by Carlos Toro at Abysmo Producciones in Chile.
No Ink For A Self Portrait was produced by Cristián Rodríguez at 15HZ Studios in Santiago, Chile. The album is planned to be released by mid-year 2014.

NASHVILLE PUSSY - New Song 'Everybody's Fault But Mine' Streaming Online
 NASHVILLE PUSSY will release their new studio album, Up The Dosage, via Steamhammer/SPV on January 15th in Scandinavia, January 17th in Germany, January 20th in the rest of Europe, and January 21st in North America.

“This is our Back In Black!” says Blaine Cartwright. Cartwright is referring to the latest Pussy album Up The Dosage, a recording consisting of 13 fast-paced, sharp songs (plus two bonus tracks) which impress with their homogeneity and stylistic complexity. Up The Dosage takes up seamlessly where the 2009 Pussy release, From Hell To Texas, left off and goes even further. Blaine Cartwright is rightly proud of and unmistakably happy about the new material: “None of the previous Nashville Pussy albums has been as diverse and at the same time consistent. Everything sounds even bigger and better, yet raw and authentic through and through.”
The new album was produced by Nashville Pussy and sound engineer Brian Pulito at the Microsonic Studios in Lexington, Kentucky, a place where the band, despite their limited budget, found ideal conditions for a focussed and inspired recording process. “It was clear from the beginning that the album would have to be cut with very little money because the ZZ TOP tour cost us lots of dollars,” Cartwright confesses. “Luckily, SHINEDOWN producer Rick Beato is a close friend of Nashville Pussy. Rick was so enthusiastic about the new material that he spontaneously decided to remix the album for us. That’s why Up The Dosage sounds so contemporary and powerful, with phat guitars and a production which sounds brilliant in every respect.”
Cartwright is referring to classy rock tracks such as the opener ‘Everybody’s Fault But Mine’, with a wonderfully ironic title which reflects that sense of humour which is so typical of Nashville Pussy. Next comes Cartwright’s personal fave ‘Rub It To Death’, a raw number with unashamed MOTÖRHEAD references. Also typical of Nashville Pussy is the title track which takes no prisoners from the first note, unfolding a thoroughly unrefined attitude through the driving bass.
But there is also a number of surprising moments on Up The Dosage: the country rock song ‘Hooray For Cocaine, Hooray For Tennessee’, featuring dobro and mandolin, and ‘Till The Meat Falls Off The Bone’, which dates back to the '70s. Cartwright: “Somehow it’s turned into a kind of AEROSMITH-meets-Pussy track. In the beginning I wasn’t sure whether we wanted to release it, but in a very special way it fits really well on the album.” ‘White And Loud’, penned by guitarist Ruyter Suys, with its doom-laden BLACK SABBATH flair also deserves a mention. By the way: Ruyter Suys and Blaine Cartwright continue to be the backbone of Nashville Pussy, supported by drummer Jeremy Thompson and – since 2011 – bassist Bonnie Buitrago, who joined the Pussy fold after Karen Cuda had left the band on friendly terms.
And another name which should be mentioned in connection with Up The Dosage is that of Eddie Spaghetti: THE SUPERSUCKERS bassist has been one of Cartwright’s best pals since their joint European tour in spring 2009 and helped with the new songs: “Eddie came to my home in Atlanta to work on the material with me. He co-authored three songs and helped me with the right arrangements on the rest of the tracks. I can’t thank him enough for his assistance.”
Up The Dosage will be released as a limited digipak edition (including two bonus tracks + poster), double gatefold LP edition with colored vinyl, standard version and download.

CHEMIA - 'Stalker' Track Streaming Online
 Poland's CHEMIA are streaming the track 'Stalker', featured on their new album, The One Inside (Metal Mind Productions). Listen below:
Chemia were formed by the guitarist Wojtek Balczun in 2010 in Warsaw.The band performed together with such big artists as RED HOT CHILI PEPPER and GUNS N' ROSES. In fall 2012, Chemia left for the Canadian Warehouse Studio to record their third studio album The One Inside. During the whole recording process they were supported by Marc LaFrance and the album was mixed by Eric Mosher (CHICKENFOOT, JOE SATRIANI). The One Inside features 13 rock tracks inspired by classic rock ranging from THE BEATLES to LED ZEPPELIN and by the best post grunge tunes.

SHRAPNEL Announce Permanent Bassist
 Norwich, UK-based thrashers SHRAPNEL welcome Darryl Abbott to the ranks as their new permanent bassist.
Says the band: "Darryl's been learning the stuff up and will be making his live debut very soon!
Darryl says: "Im really looking forward to getting things rolling in 2014 with shrapnel its been a case of learning all the songs in my bedroom so i am itching to get on that stage and make my prescence felt alongside these nutters."

Shrapnel will release their full-length debut, The Virus Conspires, on February 3rd in Europe and February 4th in North America, via Candlelight Records. Produced by Russ Russell (NAPALM DEATH, EVILE), it features artwork from Eliran Kantor (TESTAMENT, ATHIEST). The album and its lead single, 'Titan', will be available for pre-order via ITunes and other digital platforms beginning January 6th (Europe) / 7th (North America).
Fast, furious, and uncompromising, The Virus Conspires is propelled by its freshness and electric intensity. Sonically imposing and explosive, songs like 'Braindead', 'Red Terror', and album opener 'Kingdom Come', are sure to quickly catapult the band to a global audience.
Commenting on the band’s sound, guitarist Chris Martin notes, “Individually we are pretty different in our tastes but when we put it all together it works. For us, the energy in thrash is just so much more satisfying than anything else. Formed in April 2009, the five-man wrecking crew initially bonded over their lack of a vibrant local metal scene. KLOGR – Black Snow Tracklisting Revealed; Second Album Trailer Available
 KLOGR will release Black Snow, their second full length album, follower of debut Till You Decay (2011) and EP Till You Turn (2013), on March 11th via Zeta Factory/Bertus (CD) and Believe (digitally).

OMNIVORE Release Video ‘I Hope The War Comes’
 Italian death/thrashers OMNIVORE have posted a promo video for the song ‘I Hope The War Comes’ off their upcoming self-titled debut album.
Like their name suggests, Omnivore are equal-opportunity devourers. Their raging full-length shows that they clearly consumed old death/thrash acts from Europe and the US - think MASSACRA, MERCILESS, and SADUS - as well as the more-familiar Bay Area bands, represented here by the use of gang vocals, some melodic lead parts, and even a startlingly well-played acoustic passage. Of course, one of their biggest influences is revealed by the hidden bonus track at the end, a cover song that implores you to "Arise!"

Hailing from Varese and spawned in 2011 from the ashes of NIGHTMARE OF FALLEN, Omnivore is already a project on hold. The band's lone album (so far at least) is going to burn down villages and consume the fleeing villagers. Omnivore is due for release via CD format on February 18th on Unspeakable Axe Records.

TOWERS OF FLESH Post Antithetical Conjurations Album Sampler
 TOWERS OF FLESH, the blackened death metal trio comprised of members from core bands within the United Kingdom's extreme metal scene, has completed work on their newest album, Antithetical Conjurations.
Release date and other details regarding the album will be announced soon. To give fans a taste of the madness to come, the band has posted an album sampler:
A press release says: “Antithetical Conjurations is the band's second full-length release to date and is without a doubt their best work thus far. The album contains six tracks, runs at around 40 minutes and it wastes no time in menacingly infusing harmonic overlays with discordant rhythms, conjuring an image for all to see, but none to hear. This release is one which has been rooted in atmosphere rather than musical complexity and there is an undeniable aura of morbidity which purveys throughout. In an age of dramatis and slogans the band have consciously decided to take a step back and let the listeners deduce their own conclusions rather than making any grand claims about the vitality of the album.”
The dynamic of the trio is invariably different from many of their contemporaries since all instrumental duties are handled exclusively by two members. In addition to this; the band is fairly exclusive with regards to live dates, albeit unintentionally, it seems as though appearances on the local and national circuit are rare. However, all members are linked to other bands within the UK's underground music scene and seem to have come together in order to amalgamate their influences in the hope of creating something fresh and stimulating for the listener.

JESTERS OF DESTINY's Classic Debut To See Remastered Vinyl Release

Concerns such as being tagged "alternative metal" were not on the minds of Ray Violet and Bruce Duff, when in 1984, they were in the midst of a recording project attempting to come up commercial (as in jingles) material. Violet was the staff engineer at Dawnbreaker studio (built by SEALS & CROFTS during their heyday a decade earlier, and ran at the time by their ex-manager, a figure in the Bahai Faith). Church members occupied the studio compound, but during the day, it was rented out by Leon Sylvers (producing contemporary R&B with Violet at the board) and at night, Ray, Bruce and friends had free rein of the place to make whatever music they wanted.
Among the music they recorded were two songs that seemed to hang together: 'End Of Time' and 'Diggin’ That Grave'. “Grave” was a riff, groove and lyrical idea Ray had been kicking back and forth with Bruce for some time - at Dawnbreaker, it came fully to life; and “Time” was a heavy prog number Bruce wanted to flesh out while the studio was at hand. The two musicians decided that these two songs had zero commercial potential for their jingle project, but belonged together nonetheless, and with that as a template, Ray and Bruce decided to form a band. Jesters Of Destiny were soon rehearsing in the full-court basketball facility next door to the studio in the Dawnbreaker compound.
By fall of ’84, 'End Of Time' appeared on Metal Massacre V, part of an ongoing series used by Metal Blade Records to introduce new bands to an international fanbase. Also onboard with their early recordings were Voivod, Overkill, Fates Warning, Metal Church, and Hellhammer (before they turned into Celtic Frost). A look at this lineup shows the Jesters Of Destiny weren’t alone in thinking it was time metal ventured outside the safety zone.
During ’85, Jesters Of Destiny began to perform in clubs around Los Angeles and Orange County, and weathering what would be an unending series of lineup changes around Bruce on vocals/bass and Ray on guitar/keys. (Five drummers and five lead guitarists went through the ranks.) Throughout the year, and amidst the first several lineup changes, the pair recorded Fun At The Funeral.
With completed masters in tow, Metal Blade was approached, as they’d already issued End of Time. They liked the album and agreed to put it out, but perhaps as a nod to the band’s alternative take on heavy music, decided to put the LP out on a brand-new imprint, Dimension Records. Not only did this indicate that Fun At The Funeral wasn’t a typical heavy record, but also avoided the outrage the standard Metal Blade aficionado would experience when a pop song like 'Happy Times' or an instrumental interlude like 'Love Theme from Jesters on Parade' would pop up.
Released in 1986, Fun At The Funeral received a wide range of critical appraisal.
The band continued to shift drummers and guitarist in and out of the lineup, and during the promotional life of the album shared stages with Jane’s Addiction, the Dickies, Flaming Lips, L.A. Guns, Jetboy, the Fuzztones, and Thelonious Monster, demonstrating both how wide the Jesters Of Destiny's style could venture, and how diverse the California scene was at the time. Nowadays, most histories boil Cali hard rock down to the emerging thrash scene growing out of Ruthie’s Inn in Berkeley, and the hair metal coming out of the Hollywood clubs such as Gazzarri’s. (Of course, the Jesters Of Destiny played both.)
With not quite enough songs written for the second album, the Jesters Of Destiny opted to record an all-covers EP as a follow-up. In a Nostalgic Mood was met with perhaps even more confusion than Fun At The Funeral. For their ’87 year-end summation, Kerrang declared the Jesters Of Destiny's version of Sabbath’s 'Electric Funeral' to be the 4th best cover of the year, and their version of Hendrix’s 'Foxey Lady' to be the 4th worst.
By ’88, Metal Blade dropped Jesters Of Destiny. Enough labels passed on the demos for the by-now-written album No Laughing Matter that the band chose to quietly throw in the towel. Of course, the story doesn’t end there.
In 2001, Ektro Records in Finland reissued Fun At The Funeral with a load of bonus material, including a number of the No Laughing Matter demos. In 2012, Full Contact issued a single featuring Ektro's most prolific artists, CIRCLE, performing two Fun At The Funeral songs, 'End of Time' and 'God Told Me To', with Bruce and Ray both onboard. Now, Ektro/Full Contact is issuing a near-exact replica of the original vinyl album, with the expected improved mastering and better graphics reproductions.
Meanwhile, Bruce and Ray have returned to the studio to work on a brand-new album of Jesters Of Destiny material. Has the world caught up? Will the Jesters be more easily understood in 2014? Most likely not. | 0 | |

 The second of four videos on the making of "The Satanist", the long-awaited new album from Polish extreme metallers BEHEMOTH, can be seen below.

"The Satanist" was produced by BEHEMOTH, Wojtek and Slawek Wieslawscy and Daniel Bergstrand at Hertz Studio. The CD was mixed by Matt Hyde (SLAYER) and mastered by Ted Jensen (METALLICA, AC/DC) at Sterling Sound in New York City. The cover art for "The Satanist" was painted by renowned Russian painter and occultist Denis Forkas. The paint used included some of Nergal's own blood. "I wanted to incorporate some of my DNA into the art," Nergal told Australia's Heavy magazine about having his blood included in "The Satanist" artwork.
"This album seems to be so defining of who we are now as people and as individuals, and considering all the instances in recent years, [we wanted] to make it more 'ours' than it is usually."
In a recent interview with Revolver magazine, Darski described BEHEMOTH's new songs as "very atmospheric" and "very emotional." "Think BURZUM meets NEW ORDER meets KILLING JOKE," he added. But at the same time, fans shouldn't expect the album to sound too far removed from BEHEMOTH's past efforts. "Take SLAYER, for example," Darski said. "Whatever genre they deal with, they still end up sounding like SLAYER. Even when they were flirting with nu-metal, it was a SLAYER record. Same with BEHEMOTH."
According to Darski, at least some of the inspiration for the new BEHEMOTH album came from his five-month bout of leukemia he overcame in January 2011, after receiving a bone-marrow transplant. "When I was in the hospital, I was collecting experiences and emotions," he said. "I'm pretty sure that it's coming out now. There are moments I catch myself thinking about how my state was back then. It was me versus life, me versus death. It definitely changed my thoughts a lot. It's 100 percent being reflected in the record and songs I'm writing nowadays. I'm way more radical than I used to be."

CRADLE OF FILTH: 20th-Anniversary Release To Be Announced Soon
 Vocalist Dani "Filth" Davey of British extreme metallers CRADLE OF FILTH has revealed plans for a a forthcoming twentieth anniversary release in April that "old-skoolers will absolutely love to bits." No further details have yet been made available.
In February, CRADLE OF FILTH will embark on a 19-date European co-headlining tour with Polish extreme metallers BEHEMOTH.
Comments Dani: "We are very much looking forward to touring with BEHEMOTH et al, as I think the combined lineup for these momentous shows is definitely very killer.
"Prepare for some riotous shows immersed in such esteemed dark company, as CRADLE traverses an old-skool tour program set against a viscerally visual backdrop of nocturnal metal supremacy. In other words, be there or be squared. Pinhead-style!"
2014 marks the 20th anniversary of "The Principle Of Evil Made Flesh", the historic debut album from CRADLE OF FILTH on Cacophonous Records. To honor this momentous occasion, CRADLE OF FILTH is planning a whole smorgasbord of exciting stuff, including the first-ever CRADLE OF FILTH comic, the release of a career-spanning double disc best-of, and, of course, the subsequent touring.
The story for CRADLE OF FILTH's upcoming adult comic book was scripted by the comic writer Kurt Amacker (with assistance from the band's singer, Dani Filth). Several artists are in the process of mocking up some example pages for the prospective publishers. Dani previously stated about the project: "I am very excited about this venture, as it promises to be a very adult story woven straight from the CRADLE OF FILTH universe, featuring a liberated Oscar Wilde, the Demoness Lilith, nefarious sexual magickal practices and an errant Suffolk Lord who is in the unenviable process of being charged under 19th-century blasphemy laws, discovering himself engaged in a nightmarish occult netherworld."
CRADLE OF FILTH's tenth studio album, "The Manticore And Other Horrors", sold 4,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 96 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band's previous full-length effort, "Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa", opened with 5,800 units in November 2010 to land at No. 99.

Regarding the new CD title and cover artwork, Kakko said: "As always, it's pretty hard coming up with a name for the new baby. I tried to approach it from many angles; how this is our eighth album and how easy it would be to abuse that fact. All the symbolism of figure eight, eternity and so on. But that just did not feel right, as it's been done so many times. Then I started to think how we'd in ways abandoned our 'totem animal,' the wolf and all what comes with the territory.
"As the music on the album is bowing more towards the 'old' SONATA, meaning more power metal-style elements and wolves in many of the songs in one form or another, it was clear we need a wolf on the cover. An abandoned wolf. A pariah. Or pariah's child, actually. The new generation to bring the old logo back."
SONATA ARCTICA last August parted ways with bassist Marko Paasikoski and replaced him with Pasi Kauppinen (SILENT VOICES, ex-REQUIEM, WINTERBORN).
The band will launch a European headlining tour in support of "Pariah's Child" on April 10 in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.
SONATA ARTICA's latest album, "Stones Grow Her Name", was released in Europe on May 18, 2012 and in North America on May 22, 2012 via Nuclear Blast Records.
"Stones Grow Her Name" sold around 2,100 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 9 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

 Dutch symphonic rockers WITHIN TEMPTATION will play a special intimate acoustic show on Tuesday, February 4 at HMV 363 Oxford Street in London, England (next to Bond Street station) at 6 p.m.
The performance will be an intimate 20-minute acoustic set, followed by a signing session to promote the band's new album, "Hydra".

In a recent interview with Ultimate-Guitar.com, Sharon stated about the songwriting process for "Hydra"": "A lot of bands were inspired by the '80s at the time we were writing 'The Unforgiving' album. CRIMSON FALLS - 'The Generation Chasm' Lyric Video Released
 Belgian death metallers CRIMSON FALLS have released a lyric video for their track 'The Generation Chasm'.
Says the band: "This video was made by Eklips Design and features guest vocals by no one less than Mister Daniel de Jongh from TEXTURES! Daniel did an awesome job, horns up!"
The band's new album, Downpours Of Disapproval, contains 11 tracks and features guest appearances from Daniel De Jongh, Brent Vanneste (STEAK NUMBER EIGHT) and DJ Jeant. DELAYHEAD To Release 'Vol. 80%' Next Month
 Pori, Finland-based metallers DELAYHEAD will release their second full-length album, "Vol. 80%", on February 28. The CD follows in the honest, in-your-face rock/metal footsteps of its predecessor, "Vol. 40%", but ups the ante.
According to DELAYHEAD singer/guitarist Tuomas Saarinen, the band does not attempt to follow trends, but relies on its natural delivery instead.
"We're not trying to send any particular message or anything," he says. "You either listen or don't.
"When we write songs, we try to create something we would like to listen to ourselves. Doing it any other way would be fooling ourselves and others. It's hypocritical to write songs that don't mean shit to yourself."
DELAYHEAD promises "Vol. 80%" contains music for many different moods, some of which make you want to seriously bang your head, while others maybe make you want to stop for a moment.

Former MERCYFUL FATE Drummer KIM RUZZ's METALRUZZ Calls It Quits
 Due to "physical limitations," former MERCYFUL FATE drummer Kim Ruzz (a.k.a. Kim Thyge Jensen) has "decided to stop" his involvement in the Danish heavy metal band called METALRUZZ. According to METALRUZZ singer Krudy Bøhm, "The band has been looking for a replacement after the band's guitarist left the group, but now it is over. METALRUZZ thank you for all you inquiries from prying metal fans from around the world."

After MERCYFUL FATE was presented with the "honor award" at the Danish Metal Awards 2006, Ruzz released a statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET in which he said, "Yes, I became a postman for a short period, but not in the U.S. as many people think. After that, I took an education in the construction business and worked as foreman and calculator.
"Many stories have been told that [Michael] Denner [MERCYFUL FATE guitarist] and I couldn't stand the sight of each other, [but] it could not be more wrong. We were, and still are, best friends.
"As you know, we won a Danish music award [in November 2006]. We [attended the event] together, the four of us [Michael Denner (guitar), Hank Shermann (guitar), Timi 'Grabber' Hansen (bass) and Kim Ruzz (drums)], [as] King [Diamond] couldn't make it. And the magic was reborn."
MERCYFUL FATE will always be remembered for their unquestionable mark on the history of metal, with their new innovative sound, complex arrangements, memorable melody, and their influence on bands that later took the genre to new heights, according to Wikipedia.
In 1998, METALLICA paid tribute to MERCYFUL FATE by recording a medley of classic MERCYFUL FATE songs on the album "Garage Inc." Entitled "Mercyful Fate", the medley included parts from "Satan's Fall", "Curse of the Pharaohs", "A Corpse Without Soul", "Into the Coven" and "Evil".
Lars Ulrich of METALLICA (a fellow Dane) played drums on a new version of "Return of the Vampire" on the "In the Shadows" album, which came out in 1993.

KORN Frontman JONATHAN DAVIS Scores 'After The Dark' Film
 The official trailer for "After The Dark" (previously titled "The Philosophers") can be seen below. The film hits theaters and VOD release on February 7 from Phase 4 Films. Directed by John Huddles, it stars James D'Arcy, Bonnie Wright, Daryl Sabara, Sophie Lowe, Rhys Wakefield, Freddie Stroma, Maia Mitchell, Jacob Artist and Katie Findlay. KORN frontman Jonathan Davis composed the film's score along with Nicholas O'Toole.
Synopsis: Faced with an impending nuclear apocalypse, a group of twenty college students must determine which ten of them would take shelter underground and reboot the human race. The decision quickly becomes deadly as each in the group turns against each other in a desperate fight for survival.
KORN's eleventh studio album, "The Paradigm Shift" (Prospect Park), sold 46,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 8 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD arrived in stores on October 8, 2013 via Prospect Park.
Davis last year revealed that he got into the studio later than the rest of the group because he was dealing with personal issues. He explained, "My boy got diabetes and I had come off medication for my depression, and that fucked me up . . . I'd been on it for three years and the doctor told me you gotta get off this, it's bad for you."
Davis took drastic action to get off his medication, saying, "I went to this county rehab. I was like, 'I don't want to do this shit ever again.' So I went into the most ghetto, fucked-up place I could find and I'm barely coming out of it now."

 British metallers ARCHITECTS will release their new album, "Lost Forever // Lost Together", in North America on March 11 via Epitaph Records. The CD will be made available in in Australia through UNFD and in Canada via New Damage Records.
After writing demos on their successful run on Vans Warped Tour 2013, ARCHITECTS (whose lineup includes chief songwriter Tom Searle on guitar/keyboards, his twin brother Dan on drums, Sam Carter on lead vocals, and Alex Dean on bass) took to Studio Fredman in the Swedish city of Gothenburg in the middle of the sunlight-starved winter. Working with producers Fredrik Nordström and Henrik Udd (both known for their work with BRING ME THE HORIZON and chosen largely because "we've always been big fans of how massive their records sound," according to Sam), ARCHITECTS spent a month living in the studio so that they could record whenever inspiration hit.
On "Lost Forever // Lost Together", the band artfully weaves in ambient elements that sometimes verge on gauzy and dreamlike. Take the instrumental "Red Hypergiant" that threads a sample of voiceover from a Carl Sagan film through an oceanic wall of sound, for example, while the album-closing "Distant Blue" starts out as a snarling, lead-heavy epic and then unfolds into spacey ethereality. Fans will notice the band deepen their blend of brutal, thundering metal and melody-spiked hardcore with heavier riffs and intricate arrangements inspired by THIS WILL DESTROY YOU, and even artists unlikely such as SIGUR ROS. With lyrical content delving into everything from the Fukushima nuclear disaster to Tom's recent bout with skin cancer, "Lost Forever // Lost Together" artfully delivers an emotional charge that's both devastating and glorious.
As for the album title, ARCHITECTS borrowed a lyric from the track "Youth Is Wasted OnTthe Young". As Tom Searle poignantly states, "We're all lost. Everyone's just trying to find their place, and hopefully we'll all get there eventually."

ARCHITECTS in 2012 released the "The Here And Now 2012 Special Edition" including "Devil's Island" and "Untitled" as well as all video clips ("Day In Day Out", "Learn To Live", "Heartburn", "Delete, Rewind" and "An Open Letter To Myself"), making-of footage for "Learn To Live" and "Heartburn" plus several previously released online clips.

SOREPTION: 'Engineering The Void' Title Track Available For Streaming
 "Engineering The Void", the title track of the new album from Swedish technical death metallers SOREPTION, can be streamed using the SoundCloud widget below. The song feaures guest vocals by THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER's Trevor Strnad.
"Engineering The Void" will be released on February 18 via Unique Leader, by way of Ninetone Records.
Formed in 2005 in Sundsvall, SOREPTION hurls forth a bone-shattering onslaught of sharp technical riff sequences, schizophrenic time shifts, thick catchy grooves and ravaging vocals. PERIPHERY: Entire 'Clear' Album Available For Streaming
 "Clear", the new experimental album from Maryland-based progressive metallers PERIPHERY, is available for streaming in its entirety below. The effort is set for a January 28 North American release via Sumerian Records.
Comments PERIPHERY guitarist Misha Mansoor: "'Clear' is an experiment to explore all of the different writing styles in the band.
"It's rare when you have a band where every member is capable of writing and producing music.
"With each member controlling their own track, this recording enabled us to go down any path we chose in terms of style and sound. Every track also contains a melodic theme established in 'Clear''s intro track, 'Overture'. This common thread links all of the songs together, even though they all sound wildly different.
"'Clear' shouldn't be confused with our new third full-length album that we're currently working on, nor should it be considered an EP as it rides somewhere in between clocking in at 30 minutes."

UNEARTH Guitarist KEN SUSI's USA! USA! USA!: 'Marissa' Video Released
 "Marissa", the new video from USA! USA! USA!, the band featuring guitarist Ken Susi of the Boston metallers UNEARTH, can be seen below.
USA! USA! USA! started when Susi started thinking about what got him into music in the first place, and it all came back to him in a rush of memories: girls.
Ken wrote his first song at 12 for a girl in his class. He recalled her happiness at hearing a simple song written specifically for her, and after years of writing and playing intense metal, Ken wanted to get that feeling back. He had a vision of the perfect American rock band: clean vocals, catchy hooks and riffs, big guitars. And all the songs would be for and about girls the band knew.
Ken reached out to the best players he'd met on the road, recruiting bassist Ben Alexis of Canada metal act ARISE AND RUIN and second guitarist Dave Stauble of New Hampshire hardcore heroes SINCE THE FLOOD. Rumor has it he found Pat doing session work.
They all fit the bill in terms of style and sound, but the frontman had to be the quintessential rock and roll crooner, a '68 Elvis for a new generation — with style and flash that would make the boys want to be him and the girls fall in love with him.
Ken found the answer to his prayers in Frank Pino, best known as the frontman of WALTHAM, Boston favorites who swept many a Boston Music Awards show, released three albums, toured Europe and was featured in a Disney documentary. Frank's classic rock n roll look, stage presence, and work ethic made him a perfect foil to Ken, and when they sang together their clear vocal styles meshed perfectly.
USA! USA! USA! boiled rock n roll down to its classic, primal THE BEATLES, Elvis and Ritchie Valens DNA — guitars, bass, drums, songs about girls — written with the same feeling as notes slipped into lockers, left on windshields outside the fast food joint where she work or a serenade outside her window.
With the chemistry firing on all cylinders, the band rushed into the studio and knocked out five songs — all titled with girl's names — and a supercharged cover of "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" that has become their anthem. The result is the purest American Art Form: hook heavy, harmony-laden, driving guitar rock propelled by rocket fuel energy from five guys who love and respect girls (including their moms).
USA! USA! USA! titled the EP "What's Your Name" and, in an unusual move, released it online at Bandcamp on a "pay-what-you-please" basis. With no promotion or publicity it instantly became Bandcamp's number one download.
USA! USA! USA! is currently working on songs for a new, full-length album. They have played up and down the East Coast and across Canada to ever-growing crowds. They'll be hitting the road again when the new record is completed.
