DRIPBACK - New Album Due This Month
 London hardcore metallers DRIPBACK have revealed details of their debut album release, due out January 20th digitally and March 24th in vinyl. Recorded with legendary audio wizard Russ Russell at Parlour Studios “Failed Futures” features 13 tracks of uncompromising, loud, fast and furious metal with their trademark and undeniable London stamp all over," according to a press release.
“It’s been a long time coming but finally the Dripback album will see the light of day, and this is as pure as it gets,” says the band. “Direct from us to you, no labels, no bullshit. It’ll be on iTunes for the lazy cunts with their iPods and we’ll have a nice vinyl for people to get stuck into as well."

CRYSTAL EYES – Killer Artwork, Tracklisting Revealed
 Borås, Sweden-based metallers CRYSTAL EYES have signed a deal with Massacre Records. Their new album, Killer, will be released later in the spring. The cover artwork was done by Jan Yrlund while mixing and mastering was handled by Fredrik Nordström and Henrik Udd at Studio Fredman.

SAVN - Debut Album To Feature Guest Appearance By LINGUA MORTIS ORCHESTRA
 MIDNATTSOL vocalist Carmen Elise Espenaes has launched a new project with THE SINS OF THY BELOVED members Stig Johansen and Anders Thue called SAVN. Strings for two songs on the forthcoming debut album were recorded by the LINGUA MORTIS ORCHESTRA in Minsk, directed and recorded by RAGE guitarist Victor Smolski.
In a recent interview with BraveWords scribe Carl Begai, Carmen confirmed that her sister Liv Kristine (LEAVES' EYES) will make a guest appearance on one track for the album. It will be released via CDR Records out of Norway.

Sound Of Contact is the progressive rock band from vocalist/drummer/composer/producer and solo recording artist, Simon Collins (son of legendary musician PHIL COLLINS). With a distinguished musical familial lineage, Collins has established himself as a preeminent performer with the release of several solo albums. Melding elegant melodies with electronica-tinged hard rock and intimate lyrics, Collins has created a distinct sound all his own. With this new project/musical collaboration, Sound Of Contact, Collins delves further into the futuristic aspect of his songcraft, all the while incorporating elements of progressive rock that are his musical heritage.
Sound Of Contact's debut concept album, Dimensionaut, was recently released internationally via prog rock label InsideOut, alongside Simon Collins' own label Lightyears Music, resulting immediately in rave reviews from fans and critics alike. Sound Of Contact will soon take their music to the masses, with upcoming tour dates in North America to be announced shortly.
Co-produced by Collins and Sonic Reality's Dave Kerzner, Dimensionaut finds Collins at home behind the drum kit as well as out front, handling lead singer duties. He is joined on the album by Matt Dorsey (guitars and bass, backing vocals), Dave Kerzner (keyboards, backing vocals, sound design), Kelly Nordstrom (guitars and bass) with guest appearance by THE WISHING TREE's Hannah Stobart (vocals) and Wells Cunningham (cello, violin). Dimensionaut was mixed by Nick Davis (GENESIS, XTC), mastered by Grammy-Award-winning Gavin Lursen and features futuristic artwork designed by visionary graphic artist, Taavi Torim.

GOATWHORE Enter Studio With Erik Rutan; Metal Alliance Tour Confirmed
 GOATWHORE has confirmed that they will be on tour in April as part of the Metal Alliance Tour 2014. They will be supporting headliners BEHEMOTH, along with other supporting acts 1349, INQUISITION, and BLACK CROWN INITIATE. The Metal Alliance tour will begin April 4th in Tempe, AZ and run through May 3rd. Dates are listed below.

SAVAGE MESSIAH's New Song 'Minority Of One' Streaming
 London's SAVAGE MESSIAH will release their new album, The Fateful Dark, on March 10th in Europe via Earache Records and on March 18th in North America via Century Media/Earache Records.
The band, who were recently banned from entering the Freemason UK headquarters in London for a photo shoot after the society deemed the band's name offensive, are releasing three instant grat tracks on iTunes which can be downloaded in advance of the album's release.
The new track, 'Minority Of One', is available now as an instant grat download, along with a previously-released track, 'Cross Of Babylon'. A further track, 'Hellblazer', will be available as an instant grat download on iTunes on February 10th.

Frontman Dave Silver comments: "The title for this song comes from a famous saying by Ghandi, who said that even if you're in a minority of one, the truth is the truth. Which is a good message to people about breaking the mould and not getting sucked into 'group think' mentality. Standing up for what's objectively right and not compromising for the sake of social acceptance. Musically, this is my favourite Savage Messiah track ever; we've managed to marry the thrash and heavy metal elements into a cohesive track, which is catchy and melodic, but still fast and thrashy. Enjoy!"

THE LION’S DAUGHTER Release Video ‘Swann’
 St. Louis stark black doom troupe, THE LION'S DAUGHTER, recently completed a video for ‘Swann’. Directed by Brain Cummings, produced by Adam Taylor with art direction by Josh Rowan, the strikingly grim eight-plus minute production is loosely centered around news stories of those mentally ill that’ve been locked up and sentenced to death.
Elaborates vocalist/guitarist Rick Giordano, "Imagine trying to make sense of being kept in a cell by people who intend to kill you when you can't even understand what it is you've done wrong. Working with Josh -- who did the album artwork -- and Brain, we wanted to try and capture this isolation and confusion as simply as possible by contrasting footage of a cold, dark enclosure with a free, wandering eye which is outside and unrestrained. Whether these images are dreams, memories, or a reality is left unclear, just as it might be in that person's mind."
‘Swann’ comes by the way of the The Lion’s Daughter’s latest long player, A Black Sea, which finds the band in joint collaboration with somber folk ensemble/fellow St. Louis inhabitants, INDIAN BLANKET.

DEATHPOINT Release 'Between The Lines' Video
 Hamilton, ON's hard hitting, heavy riffing melodic groove metal band DEATHPOINT have released their new video, for 'Between The Lines'.
Vocalist Tom Emmans states: "The band is very excited to release this video. We had a blast shooting it in that creepy haunted looking house; I swear when the floors creaked there was a ghostly presence watching over us. We had a lot of fun just trying different things with the song and very happy with director Garrett Henry and his creative mind. We can't wait for people to see this video and spread it online. The band also has tour dates coming up and we are anxious to announce, keep your eyes and ears open."
Deathpoint signed with Spread The Metal Records in April 2013 for distribution and released their sophomore album, Sinister. The band has been touring Ontario and Quebec aggressively and in early September 2013 they performed at the Spread The Metal Festival in Toronto with SUFFOCATION and KITTIE among many others. ASS TO MOUTH Stream 'Sentenced To Grind' Track Online
 Wroclaw, Poland-based grindcore act ASS TO MOUTH recently signed a deal with Selfmadegod Records, the label to release their second full length in mid-February. The album track 'Sentenced To Grind' is now available for streaming below.
With the band's current lineup consisting of vocalist Kuba, bassist/vocalist Jarek, guitarist Maciek and drummer Pablo, Degenerate was recorded, mixed and mastered at Hellsound/Soundscope Studio in Wroclaw, the twenty-track album containing a bruising half-hour of grindcore ferocity with a jagged, punk-fueled approach.
Founded December 2004, during the first three years of activity Ass To Mouth played more than fifty shows in Poland and abroad, including tours with AHUMADO GRANUJO, EPITOME, PARRICIDE, SQUASH BOWELS, JIG-AI and NEUROPATHIA. November 2006 saw the foursome self-releasing their first MCD Asses For The Masses. In mid-2007, vocalist Sandro was replaced by Jankes, and the band recorded five songs for 7" split EP with Jig-Ai (eventually released as a 10" in 2011). ATM toured heavily with the new lineup, including an extensive European tour in support of their first full-length LP, Kiss Ass-- released on Lifestage Productions in 2008 - a Ukrainian tour along with EPICRISE, appearances at European festivals such as Obscene Extreme, SWR Metalfest, Arsch Cholio, Death By Thousand Cuts, and numerous shows in Europe. At the beginning of 2009 Jankes left and the band existed as a trio until April of 2010 when Kuba (ex-SELFHATE, ex-TOXIC BONKERS) joined and took over vocal duties, and the band started to work on their second full length LP, now ready to invade the world as Degenerate.

WOLVES LIKE US To Release Black Soul Choir In March; Cover Art Unveiled, First Single Streaming
 Norway's WOLVES LIKE US return triumphant with their new album, Black Soul Choir, the follow-up to their 2011 debut Late Love, which is scheduled for release in North America on March 4th.

TEMPEL Streaming 'Avaritia' Track Online
 Arizona instrumental metal duo TEMPEL are scheduled to release their debut record, On The Steps Of The Temple, via Prosthetic Records on January 21st. They have now released a new song from the album, 'Avaritia'.
In true DIY fashion, On The Steps Of The Temple was self-recorded and -produced by members Ryan Wenzel (guitars, keys) and Rich Corle (drums). Featuring 53 minutes of towering riffs, crushing drums and hauntingly powerful compositions, the album ventures through a variety of sonic landscapes, effortlessly combining post-rock with melodic metal. BURY TOMORROW Stream 'Watcher' Track From Upcoming New Album
 Hampshire metallers BURY TOMORROW are streaming their brand new track, 'Watcher'. The track, which got an exclusive first play on Monday evening's Radio 1 Rock Show, is taken from their forthcoming third album, entitled Runes, set to be released on May 30th on Nuclear Blast Records.

EXES FOR EYES - Title And Artwork For New Album Revealed
 EXES FOR EYES guitarist/ex-ANNIHILATOR bassist Dave Sheldon - who appears on the Live At Masters Of Rock DVD - has revealed the cover art for the band's forthcoming album, Tongues Like Figure Eights, also featuring ENDAST frontman Big James Arsenian. It is due for release in early 2014.
As previously reported, Elegy Guitarworks is a new Toronto-based guitar company launched by Sheldon and SOILWORK frontman Björn "Speed" Strid, specializing in 6, 7 and 8 string guitars and 4,5, 6 and 7 string basses.
"Conceived the day the world as we knew it was supposed to end, Elegy Guitarworks was founded December 21, 2012. Born in the light of a new friendship, Elegy Guitarworks focuses on bringing professional quality instruments to the cost-conscious player. The Mayans were wrong...and this is their Elegy."
BW&BK's Carl Begai spoke briefly with Sheldon about the new venture:
Sheldon: "We should have everything sorted out for the guitars late spring early summer. We're doing small batches of prototypes with several different builders, going to pick our favourite ones, then put them into production. Ideally, get some Canadian distribution and sell 100 - 200 units annually."

Finland's KENZINER Ink Deal With Power Prog; New Album Teaser Streaming
 Germany's Power Prog label has announced the signing of Finnish neoclassical/progressive power metal legends KENZINER.
Says the label: "Our first common goal - and 15 years after the last longplayer The Prophecies (1999) - is to prepare the comeback album, done in a new lineup, for a worldwide release in mid-2014.
