EAT THE GUN: 'Loner' Video Released
 "Loner", the new video from Münster, Germany-based rockers EAT THE GUN, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's fourth studio album, "Stripped To The Bone", which was released on November 25 via Steamhammer/SPV.

 Fan-filmed video footage of singer Tim "Ripper" Owens (JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, DIO DISCIPLES) performing on December 6 at Festival Siembra y Lucha in Costa Rica can be seen below.
In a recent interview with J. Thorn, Owens was asked what it is like playing in DIO DISCIPLES, which pays tribute to legendary heavy metal singer Ronnie James Dio (BLACK SABBATH, RAINBOW, DIO, HEAVEN & HELL) and is fully supported by Dio's widow/manager, Wendy. "It's an honor," Tim said. "It's emotional every night. I feel it every time I step on the stage. There's something special about playing with Ronnie's bandmates and I was his friend. Wendy is such a great person and Ronnie was a great person, so it feels even more special. It's really an honor to be able to do it."
"Play My Game", the first solo album from Owens, landed at position No. 66 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200. The CD was released via SPV/Steamhammer.

PROFEZIA Announce New Album Oracolo Suicida

DEATH ANGEL: Fan-Filmed Footage Of EINDHOVEN METAL MEETING Performance
 Fan-filmed video footage of DEATH ANGEL's December 12 performance at the Eindhoven Metal Meeting at Effenaar in Eindhoven, The Netherlands can be seen below.
DEATH ANGEL's seventh album, "The Dream Calls For Blood", sold 5,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 72 on The Billboard 200 chart.
DEATH ANGEL's previous CD, "Relentless Retribution", opened with 2,700 units in September 2010. The band's 2008 effort, "Killing Season", registered a first-week tally of around 2,300. This number was in line with the performance of its predecessor, "The Art of Dying", which premiered with around 2,100 copies back in May 2004.
Released on October 11 in Europe (except for the U.K. where it arrived three days later) and October 15 in North America via Nuclear Blast Records, "The Dream Calls For Blood" was recorded at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida with producer Jason Suecof (TRIVIUM, AUGUST BURNS RED, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, ALL THAT REMAINS, WHITECHAPEL, DEVILDRIVER), and once again features cover art by Brent Elliot White (JOB FOR A COWBOY, CARNIFEX, WHITECHAPEL).

JAKE E. LEE's RED DRAGON CARTEL Performs Live For First Time; Video Available
 RED DRAGON CARTEL, the band led by former OZZY OSBOURNE and BADLANDS guitarist Jake E. Lee, made its live debut last night (Thursday, December 12) at the legendary Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, California.
The group's setlist included new material like the singles "Feeder" and "Deceived", as well as major hits from Jake E. Lee's glorious past: "Rock 'N' Roll Rebel", "Bark At The Moon", "The Ultimate Sin" (all originally recorded by OZZY OSBOURNE), as well as "Shine On" and "High Wire" (BADLANDS).
RED DRAGON CARTEL, which references the axeman's Japanese roots, also features Darren "D.J." Smith of Canadian metallers WARMACHINE, on vocals, Ronnie Mancuso (BEGGARS & THIEVES) on bass and Jonas Fairley (BLACK BETTY) on drums.

The CD was recorded at Las Vegas' The Hideout Recording Studio — owned and operated by Kevin Churko (OZZY OSBOURNE, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, IN THIS MOMENT) — and was produced by R. Bernard Mann (a.k.a. Ronnie Mancuso) and Jake E. Lee, and executive-produced, mixed and mastered by Churko.
"Red Dragon Cartel" also features various guest appearances from some of rock's most notable faces, including legendary CHEAP TRICK vocalist Robin Zander, former IRON MAIDEN singer Paul Di'Anno, KILL DEVIL HILL/ex-PANTERA bassist Rex Brown, Sass Jordan, Todd Kerns and Brent Fitz (SLASH) and IN THIS MOMENT frontwoman Maria Brink.

ACHERON: New Song 'Raptured To Divine Perversion' Available For Streaming
 "Raptured To Divine Perversion", a brand new song from underground death metal legends ACHERON, can be streamed using the SoundCloud widget below. The track is taken from the band's recently completed new album, "Kult des Hasses", to be released via Listenable Records. On "Kult Des Hasses", ACHERON founder Vincent Crowley was joined by longtime drummer Kyle Severn and guitarist Art Taylor. Also appearing on the record as a guest lead guitarist is Ricktor Ravensbruck from the bands WOLFPACK 44, ELECTRIC HELLFIRE CLUB and WOLFEN SOCIETY.

GHOST SHIP OCTAVIUS: Pre-Production Episode One
 Video footage from the pre-production sessions for the forthcoming debut release from GHOST SHIP OCTAVIUS, the new band featuring Matt Wicklund (guitar; ex-GOD FORBID, HIMSA, WARREL DANE) and Van Williams (drums; ASHES OF ARES, PURE SWEET HELL, ex-NEVERMORE), can be seen below.
Guitarist Christopher Amott (ARMAGEDDON, ex-ARCH ENEMY) recently announced his departure from GHOST SHIP OCTAVIUS in order to focus entirely on making a new ARMAGEDDON album.
GHOST SHIP OCTAVIUS' vocals are performed by 17-year-old Adon Fanion, whose style, character and lyrics are said to "extend far beyond his years."
GHOST SHIP OCTAVIUS is seeking a suitable record company to release the band's debut album, for which 13 songs have already been written, including "Released", "Alive", "Successor", "Find The Light" and "Caged Love".

HEART – Fanatic Live From Caesars Colosseum CD/DVD To Be Released In February; EPK Streaming
 HEART will release Fanatic Live From Caesars Colosseum as a Deluxe Edition CD/DVD (housed in a glossy Digipak), Blu Ray and DVD standalone editions, and digital download on February 21st in Europe and February 25th in North America.

The history behind this recording began in 2012, which was a year of major achievements for Heart. In addition to Ann and Nancy’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and news that they had been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, the year was filed with musical accomplishments. Ann and Nancy Wilson combed their archives for a definitive four CD box set release in the early part of the year, and in the fall of 2012, released their Fanatic album to strong critical and fan acclaim. To support the release of Fanatic, the band embarked upon a major North American headline tour, which ended with a magnificent performance at Caesars Colosseum in Windsor, Ontario, which was filmed by AXS-TV. Heart will be performing shows in February, March and April, 2014 as a continuation of the Fanatic tour.
“Heart is one of my personal favorites,” said Frontiers Records President Serafino Perugino, “and it is more than a pleasure to have them joining the Frontiers family. We look forward to a great partnership together!”
Heart has long been associated with Canada having broken out in Vancouver in 1976 with the release of Dreamboat Annie and their return to Canada for the Fanatic tour was greeted with the kind of enthusiasm the Canadians save for their own. Ben Mink, who produced the Fanatic CD and is another great Canadian musician, joined Ann and Nancy on stage at Windsor, playing fiddle and leading a string ensemble.
In addition to songs from the Fanatic album which were performed for the first time for the television viewing audience, Fanatic Live From Caesars Colosseum also showcases many of Heart's classic hits including 'Barracuda', 'Crazy on You', 'These Dreams', 'Alone', 'What About Love' and many more.

What’s new in the life of Liv Kristine?
Liv: Ten years have passed, and we have released five albums! Our final Release “Symphonies of the Night” has just been released. I feel very comfortable where my band and I are standing right now. My members and I have been gathering experience in the studio and on tour for 20 years, some more. Moreover, we just arrived from a three-weeks-long European-Asian tour which was absolutely amazing! Symphonies of the Night” is a very special album. We are really looking forward to the release of our up-coming album, which has its roots in both the “Meredead” and the “Njord” productions, however, it is another impressing and innovative step in the history of Leaves’Eyes. Symphonies of the Night” sounds heavier and more powerful than our post productions. “Hell to the Heavens” for example, is a strong, rough song that really kicks, as well as it draws the attention of the audience that this is a very interesting, solid and innovative album which unites 10 years of a Leaves’ Eyes history, dedication to metal and experience.
How was it recording the album Symphonies Of The Night for Leaves’ Eyes?
Liv: It is a very powerful album with an incredibly powerful sound as well as fine, amazing details to discover for the lover of gothic and folk-inspired metal. We are lucky to have our own Mastersound studio. Alex, Tosso and myself are a real dream-composing-team. For every Leaves’ Eyes production we’ve just “started somewhere”, going with the creative flow. Our teamwork is based on honesty and trust. This is of such a vital importance in a band. Moreover, all my musicians are first-class and highly talented artists, eager to develop and maximize our skills.To be honest, we’ve let any influence into our music as we felt like it; no external pressure, no “musts”. I’ve always been quite immune towards external pressure. I listen to my artistic heart and focus on my own skills.
Any tour dates for Leaves’ Eyes?
Liv: The recently played tour for Leaves’ Eyes went through Belgium, Bulgaria, Romania, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Austria, China, Taiwan, and Thailand. Ahead of us is Russia. Next year begins with a handful of UK shows, followed by 70.000 tons of metal through the Caribbean and a US tour. Solo shows (special!) are scheduled for December this year. I hope to see you soon at one of our gigs

What would be some of the craziest stuff you’ve seen on tour?
Liv: a cockroach falling from the ceiling into my corset. I smiled and kept on singing. The poor animal was dead as the concert was finished, however, I guess it died happily;-)
What were your earliest influences in life?
Liv: I grew up with Black Sabbath and Ozzy, and some classical composers like Edvard Grieg and Tschaikowsky. I have been singing for as long as I can remember, even before I was able to talk. I have never had a single singing lesson in my whole life. Creativity and love towards music is the force behind my artistic work, as well as thankfulness towards my audience and fans all over the world. The adventure will go on for many years, I can promise you that! All of this is my life! There is only one thing being more important to me: my family.
What would be some of your main influences today?
Liv: the lovely and most amazing singer and composer Maite Itoiz (Elfenthal), moreover, Ozzy and Monserrat Caballe.
What could we find interesting in your music collection at home?
Liv: Madonna, die Antwoord, and Lamb of God.
Could you describe what goes on in a day in your life as a musician on tour?
Liv: I get up early before the rest of the tourbus wakes up. Normally I go for a run or do some yoga exercises in the early hours. Then I take a shower and get myself some breakfast. Mostly the others are still sleeping. Until suncheck I do my interviews, call my son, go for a walk, visit a cafe, or do some necessary shopping. After sound check I get prepared for the show with a cup of tea, some yoga exercises, then I get dressed. After show it’s time to meet and greet with my fans and friends…and a glass of wine. As soon as the nightliner-engine starts rolling I will fall asleep in my bunk. When my son joins us on tour we pay visits to museums, we go for a swim, or look for some nice toy stores or playgrounds. It’s a little bit different then, of course.
Where do you see music going in 100 years from now?
Liv: I wonder if people will still remember Ozzy, Elvis, Ozzy and Edvard Grieg?

Life without music would be – just not possible! I have had music in my head since I was in my mother’s womb.

Legendary 91-Year-Old Actor CHRISTOPHER LEE Releases 'A Heavy Metal Christmas Too' Single
 Legendary actor Christopher Lee, who has starred in almost 300 movies, including "The Lord Of The Rings", "Star Wars", "The Man With The Golden Gun", "Dracula", "The Wicker Man" and most recently "The Hobbit", has released a new single titled "A Heavy Metal Christmas Too".
The single includes two songs. "Jingle Hell" is a playful take on "Jingle Bells", in which he sings with the classically trained soprano Li Li. In a video message to his fans and while wearing a colorful hat in memory of the late Vincent Price, Sir Christopher said, "I sing another version, it's a bit more naughty. It's not bad, I mean bad in the sense of unpleasant. It's entertaining, it's certainly different."
The second song, "My Way" is not a Christmas song. The vocals were recorded back in 2006 for a cover version of the song made famous by Frank Sinatra and remixed specially for this single. "I was 84 years old when I sang it and my voice was higher than it is now," Lee said.
In Christmas 2012, Lee released the single "A Heavy Metal Christmas" which included the songs "The Little Drummer Boy" and "Silent Night". In May 2013, at 91 years old, Sir Christopher became the oldest heavy metal performer in history by releasing the concept album "Charlemagne: The Omens Of Death".
The new single is available through iTunes, Amazon and Google Play.

CHURCH OF DISGUST To Release Debut Album In January
 From the crypts of Texas, CHURCH OF DISGUST rises to give form to a forgotten power in death metal. Inspired by the writings of Brian Keene and Lovecraft, it conjures up the horrific atmosphere while doling out some of the heaviest music ever created in the old school spirit. Their debut, Unworldly Summoning, will be out on January 1st via Memento Mori.
Production is handled by the established Moontower Studios in Spain (ATARAXY, TEITANBLOOD, AVULSED, GRAVEYARD) and artwork is done by none other than Igor 'Abigor' Mugerza (CENTINEX, DECAYED, SPELLCRAFT) who brings back the fear into the hearts of its listeners since the Altars Of Madness imagery. Musically, this is sonic devastation, stomps of the Hulk with the carnage of death metal - think The Dying Truth era CIANIDE, BOLT THROWER, NECROSANCT and SLUGATHOR.

THAUROROD: 'Overboard' Video Released
 "Overboard", the new video from Finnish/Swedish power metallers THAUROROD, can be seen below. The song is taken from the band's sophomore album, "Anteinferno", which will be released in Europe on December 20 through NoiseArt Records. In Japan, the CD was made available on December 11 via Spiritual Beast and features an exclusive bonus track called "Japskin Syylä".
The cover artwork for "Anteinferno" was created by Ken Kelly of MANOWAR fame.
"I found this masterpiece with all the strong colors of the flames and a warrior on a horse and thought it would fit perfectly, but also would reflect the battle themes and the theme of the last song which is about the world's biggest horse breed, the Shire horse, which was used in medieval battles ages ago," explains bassist Pasi Tanskanen. "So I would say it's a pretty perfect cover for this album!"

THAUROROD last year announced the addition of Swedish singer Andi Kravljaca (SILENT CALL, SEVENTH WONDER) to the group's ranks.
THAUROROD parted ways with Italian singer Michele Luppi in July 2012. They attributed the split to the fact that Luppi "[didn't] have enough time for THAUROROD" and the group's desire to find someone who was "more motivated [and] who share[d] the same passion and hunger to go on with THAUROROD as the rest of the band."

MIRACLE MASTER Signs With GOLDEN CORE RECORDS/ZYX MUSIC
 MIRACLE MASTER, the German/Danish hard rock band formed out of the ashes of PUMP, has signed a worldwide record deal with Golden Core Records/ZYX Music. The group's debut album, "Tattooed Woman", will be released in the spring. The CD was recorded at Studio 22 in Germany and was produced, mixed and mastered by MIRACLE MASTER and Axel Heckert (BRAINSTORM, SYMPHORCE).
MIRACLE MASTER recently signed a worldwide management contract with Germany’s RockNGrowl Management.

LETHE – When Dreams Become Nightmares Album Artwork Revealed
 Swiss-Norwegian duo LETHE - formed in 2012 by Tor-Helge Skei (MANES) and Anna Murphy (ELUVEITIE) – has revealed the front cover of their upcoming debut album, When Dreams Become Nightmares.
A press release says: “On this stunning first opus, Lethe creates a delicate sphere of Onirism. A deep sonic shockwave at the crossroad of metal / trip-hop / electro and dark pop!”
The fantastic artwork was realized by Norwegian artist Robert Høyem from Overhaus (MONOLITHE, SAHG, KAMPFAR).

FLYING COLORS - Writing For New Album Complete
 FLYING COLORS - featuring Mike Portnoy (drums, vocals), Dave LaRue (bass), Neal Morse (keyboards, vocals), Casey McPherson (vocals, guitars), and Steve Morse (guitars) - have been working on a new studio album. Portnoy has checked in with the following update:
"Well, we wrapped the writing on Flying Colors 2!! Another magical musical experience indeed... hopefully we can get it out by the end of 2014!"
Flying Colors' Live In Europe was released on October 14th via Music Theories Recordings on Blu-ray, DVD, 2CD, limited edition 3LP vinyl and digital download (iTunes, Mastered for iTunes, Amazon MP3).
The concert release captures the band live in Tilburg, Netherlands at 013 on September 20th, 2012. Directed and edited by Bernhard Baran (GUNS N' ROSES, THE CURE, PORCUPINE TREE) with Bill Evans as executive producer, the concert presents the entire studio album, alongside popular favourites performed by the individual members of the band.

HUSK To Release 'Hymns' EP
 Australia. Botswana. Norway. HUSK does not call one place home, but was formed in Oslo in 2013. Two expatriates, Michael Jozefowicz (vocals) and Rob Hamilton (guitar/vocals), bonded over a mutual obsession for engaging music and recruited Oslo locals, Daniel Flygh (bass) of ANEURISM and Lage Jensen (drums) of BLODSPOR. Their sound is kinetic, spitting conviction with lyrical themes covering society, politics, religion and the endeavour for self-betterment. Pounding together elements of metal, hardcore, punk and sludge, this four-piece don't mess around.
With the threat of deportation looming, the "Hymns" EP was recorded in three chaotic days at Caliban Studios by KVELERTAK guitarist Bjarte Lund Rolland. Mixing was completed on the touring road and mastering was handled by Alan Douches at West West Side Music, with artwork by Simón Prades.

IRON SAVIOR In The Studio - "One More Vocal To Record..."
 IRON SAVIOR frontman Piet Sielck has checked in with another studio update:
"Yeah! All lyrics done and only one more vocal to record. Mixing makes decent progress. Friday, it's time for the bakings, some solo voices of Jan and all his second harmonies. Looking so damned forward to finish and listen to all songs with my favorite headphones and a beer! Cheers!"
Iron Savior released their latest album, The Landing, on November 18th, 2011 in Europe via AFM Records. The album was released in North America on January 17th, 2012.

KILLITOROUS Streaming 'It's Not Stanley, It's Stan Lee' Track
 Canadian technical death grind band KILLITOROUS - featuring ex-members of BLIND WITNESS, IMMERSED, and BLESSED BY A BROKEN HEART - are streaming the first single from their forthcoming Party, Grind album.
'It's Not Stanley, It's Stan Lee', featuring Dean Lamb from ARCHSPIRE, can be streamed at this location.
Party, Grind, due in early 2014, will include 11 songs, and is roughly 40-minutes in length. Party, Grind was recorded with Christian Donaldson from CRYPTOPSY.

GHOULUNATICS Release New Live Video Featuring YURI RAYMOND
 Quebec-based metallers GHOULUNATICS hosted their 6th food drive / benefit show on November 29th at Foufounes Electriques in Montreal. The band’s set included songs that haven’t been performed live in over 15 years or more, and featured some very special guests.
One of those guests was long time friend Yuri Raymond (UNHUMAN, CRYPTOPSY). A video from the show with Youri singing the song 'Nature Morte', originally recorded in 1996, can be seen below:
Among other guests were Vincent Peake (GRIM SKUNK, GROOVY AARDVARK), Yannick Pilon (ARSENIQ33), Stef (INSURRECTION) and Steve Nadeau who joined in on keyboards for three songs.

THE NEOLOGIST Reveal New Album Title, Stream Audio Samples; MUTINY WITHIN's Chris Clancy Makes Guest Appearance
 American melodic metal two-piece THE NEOLOGIST have been working on their third album, titled Coming Full Circle, which will feature special guest Chris Clancy (MUTINY WITHIN) on one of the tracks.

Coming Full Circle is the follow up to the bands previous album, The Promise Of Eternal Separation. Since the inception of the band, all of their releases have been given out as free downloads.
