LOVE/HATE: 'Crucified' Mini-Album Details Revealed
LOVE/HATE is back with a brand new single, album and U.K. tour to heat things up during the cold winter months ahead.
The new six-track mini-album, "Crucified", will be released on January 13, with the band confirmed for an extensive tour of the U.K. in March 2014.
A new single, "Hanging You Out To Dry", is available to purchase now via iTunes.
Band frontman and principal songwriter on the new LOVE/HATE record, Jizzy Pearl, has also recently been confirmed as lead singer for legendary U.S. hard rock band QUIET RIOT.
LOVE/HATE burst onto the scene in 1990 with the debut album, "Blackout Out In The Red Room", and proceeded to take the U.K. by storm with "Best Album Of The Year" accolades from Kerrang! and Metal Hammer magazines. Playing sold-out shows and opening for SKID ROW, AC/DC and DIO put LOVE/HATE on the map. MTV hits "Why Do You Think They Call It Dope", "She's An Angel" and the band's follow-up album, "Wasted In America", has ensured a loyal following to this day. In 2014, lead singer Jizzy Pearl will carry the LOVE/HATE tradition into the new millennium with a new album, "Crucified", featuring new original songs that sound as vibrant and young as LOVE/HATE's first records.
"Crucified" track listing:
01. Hanging You Out To Dry02. Sunny Day03. You're Making Me Nervous04. I Don't Want To Be Your Baby05. Love Is All06. Too Late
Jizzy Pearl on "Crucified" tracks: "Hanging You Out To Dry": "A song about the infamous Hollywood sign stunt from the viewpoint of the crucifee himself. The vibe is simple, I tried to get back to the start, a bunch of young kids banging out loud musical joy in a little room and the singer in the middle, one microphone, testifying to the world." "Sunny Day": "A love song to my girlfriend, plain and simple. Usually I had to break up with my girlfriends to get a good song out of them, but not this time, thankfully. 'Sunny Day' is old-school LOVE/HATE psychedelia."
"You're Making Me Nervous": "A fictional account of every man's idea of a bad date. The lyrics come straight from the horse's mouth as he watches his Friday night fantasy crash and burn."
"I Don't Want To Be Your Baby": "This is a twist on the traditional power ballad where the guy not only doesn't get the girl, he doesn't want the girl."
"Love Is All": "My LED ZEPPELIN roots come out on this one, all those 'Kashmir' days and nights huddled around the peace pipe. I got to stretch out a bit and do some cool things musically that you can't normally do in a three-minute pop song."
"Too Late": "A song about someone near and dear to me who fucked up. You can't go back to high school, you can't go back to those glory days of youth. You just — can't — go — back."
Founding LOVE/HATE guitarist Jon E. Love recently threatened to sue Jizzy Pearl over the release of the "Crucified" album.
In a post on his Facebook page, Love wrote: "This is not a LOVE/HATE record. Jizzy has taken it upon himself to release his solo shit and call it LOVE/HATE. None of the original members are on it. How do I know this? Because the idiot insulted me when asking me to perform on it. Any true LOVE/HATE fan will immediately know it's not the real band. Stay tuned — more to follow as I proceed to sue him."
Love is currently recording an album with his band JON E. LOVE & THE HATERS. | 0

WILDLIGHTS Signs With SEASON OF MIST
Season Of Mist has announced the signing of Wilmington, North Carolina's WILDLIGHTS (formerly CRUSADES). The band is currently writing material for its new album for a 2014 release.
The brainchild of ASG vocalist/guitarist Jason Shi and THUNDERLIP! drummer Johnny Collins, WILDLIGHTS wields a unique brand of heavy, melodic rock that draws inspiration equally from the blues-based, low-end sound of the U.S. South and driving, melodic skate/desert rock pedigree of Southern California. Regarding the signing, Shi comments: "Johnny and I are very excited to share the music we have been working on for several years now with the rest of the world.
"Between touring with our other bands ASG and THUNDERLIP!, we snuck in the time to write what we feel is some exciting new music.
"It has been nice to create from scratch, and not having a sonic history to be compared to.
"It's been a very refreshing writing process! We can’t wait to share the jams!"
Audio samples of an early version of "Onward, Upward" and the track "Anchors" can be streamed on the WILDLIGHTS Bandcamp page. | 0

IMMINENT SONIC DESTRUCTION Debut 'Breaking Through' Video
Detroit-based prog-metal act IMMINENT SONIC DESTRUCTION have released a new video, for their song 'Breaking Through'. This live video was recorded in 2012 at the band's album release show at The Magic Bag in Ferndale, MI. Check out the 13-minute epic performance video below:
Last month the band completed the search to replace drummer Pat DeLeon, who left the band earlier this year. After several auditions, they tapped Dan Chapa (SWITCHLINE, ROCKSTAR) to be the new member of ISD.
Following a successful North American tour with PAIN OF SALVATION and KINGCROW, Imminent Sonic Destruction began working on new music. The departure of DeLeon sidetracked this effort temporarily, and the band shifted their focus to finding a drummer who had the right mix of personality, humor and talent to take over the job. Chapa turned out to be all of those things, as well as an imposing physical specimen at 6'7" tall.
"Dan showed up with a tiny kit and proceeded to blow us away with his rendition of our songs," said guitarist and lead vocalist Tony Piccoli of the audition. "His technical ability, feel, sense of dynamics and showmanship are exactly what we were looking for. Right away, we all knew he was the guy to help us spread our own unique brand of Progressive Super Metal to the far corners of the globe. Which, interestingly, doesn't have corners."
Chapa had this to say: "I was honored to be asked to audition, and thankful to be chosen. This is a great group of people as well as great musicians. Needless to say, I can't wait to get to work!"
Imminent Sonic Destruction is now hard at work on the follow up to their 2012 debut CD, Recurring Themes, which was produced by Roy Z (BRUCE DICKINSON, SEPULTURA). Updates to follow. | 0

KRAMPUS Debut 'Paralysis' Video
The Italian folk metallers KRAMPUS have just released the video for their new track 'Paralysis'. The song is one of two new hits produced with Tommy Vetterli (ELUVEITIE, CORONER) last Summer and features Eluveitie colleagues Merlin Sutter on drums and Chrigel Glanzmann with a guest appearance on the Uillean pipes. The video was produced again by fellow Italians 4Frame Factory, who the band worked with for their previous single already. Shooting took place at the coast of the Adriatic Sea, under rather strenuous conditions.
Mastermind Filippo “Fil” Gianotti comments:
"We teamed up again with 4Frame since our first collaboration was great, and we had a blast shooting the video with them and all those guests and friends. It's been some hard days fighting really rough weather, but we did it! This video required a large amount of extras and support, but we are lucky to be surrounded by many friends and great people that helped us realize our vision. Andrea Guarascio once again did a great job combining our music with some visual art, and thanks to his new and improved equipment we managed to achieve fantastic results."
